Pret a Manger in other cities:
Great fresh food but expensive. Constantly busy. They give paper bags like it is fashionable. But its for advertising purposes of course. They recycle plastic in the store though if you willing to put it in the right bin. Great customer service. Salads are great. Mac and cheese is good. Cookies and pastries are good.
Pret A Manger is where I went for my morning yogurt, croissant 🥐 and fresh orange 🍊 juice in London... and now that they have locations in NYC... it’s where I come in the morning. It’s too bad they don’t have some of the items I loved in London... such as the yogurt with fresh pomegranate and the tuna cucumber sandwich 🥪... which I haven’t seen in the US locations. The croissant here is one of the best you’ll have.
I love Pret A Manger for so many reasons. Creative and healthy foods at reasonable prices. Not to mention reduced waste and homeless donations for leftover food.I am giving this particular store a five rating, because of the double delightful duo Ray and Kwane who run the place (at least most nights). They always greet you with a genuine smile, are chill, and just make your day. Good guys.
Really nice almond crossaint and cookie. Good coffee and great staff. We were served by a helpful and friendly staff member called Donal. He was knowledgeable and courteous and if his company have more employees like him they will prosper in the USA. He added enormously to my already high impression of here.
I dont come here too often and when I do, I always remember why I dont. Every cashier Ive had has always been rude. The service is slow. I ordered an iced coffee and waited almost 10 minutes for the worker to fill a cup with ice and black coffee. There wasnt even that many people ahead of me. Never again!
I enjoyed the fresh bagel I got. I also got a coconut chicken salad with guacamole, grilled sweet potatoes and quinoa. Nice fresh and organic light options. They claim to do everything handmade and no chemicals, additives, and preservatives added. Credit cards accepted, WiFi, WC, seating, clean, and power outlet to charge your phone. Music probably a bit loud, you may need to raise your voice to talk.
Busy but disorganized. Today, they gave me precisely one napkin. In the mornings, youll be greeted by the gaggle of broads yelling theres more than one line but there are no markings to indicate separate lines and theres simply no space. The company has removed popular sandwiches and salads. My $10 salad has 3 thin slices of chicken over infinite greens, and the cashier did not know they used to give rolls with salads. As another review mentioned, they then laid off their most useful and kind employee Alex, who was the reason I still came to this madhouse. He was the definition of customer service, and they should be begging him to come back. Customers now have to take care of payment on their dirty keypads and the cashiers dont even talk to you anymore. They just scan the item and point to the keypad. Why even have cashiers? Its pretty much a self-checkout once they let customers scan items.
Food is consistently great, and enjoy picking up my lunch there. The line to the register has been extremely annoying. Recent weeks the loud /barking/ shepherding of costumers to form 5 lines in front of each register has been ridiculous. It is abrasive, some what unprofessional and unfriendly - and again loud. Today it was as if it was a drill to my brain.I feel that I have to pick up my lunch elsewhere.
I had such a great experience here! Andy(Saturday night shift) was very helpful and professional. He made sure I had everything I needed and offered me some great suggestions for dinner. Someone came in and started causing trouble, Andy delt with him with urgency, so other people wouldnt feel uncomfortable. Andy should get a promotion!
Wow! What a really GREAT place! Food was fresh, natural & absolutely delicious! (So yummy that we went back for another ham, cheese & tomato savory croissant.) We were at the location on Broadway between Dey & Cortlandt and the people were VERY helpful & friendly. I just WISH they were in St. Paul!!
The food was good but the prices are way too high. I understand that healthier food cost more but at the same time why cant most places break that stigma. But dont get me wrong the service was amazing and the chocolate chip cookies are to die for but at the same time its pricey
Good food and drinks as any other Pret in a world, but music extremely loud, which makes stuff and people scream all the time, even when you ordering. Seems like staff is screaming at you, not talking, so some people can get impression that they are being rude. I have very soft voice and cannot really scream, so it is quite a nightmare for me when ordering.
When the cashiers stare, dead-eyed out into space, pointedly avoiding eye contact with the customers as they approach, no “hello”, no “is there anything else I can get you?” & rather, purposefully do not acknowledge their presence at all? This doesn’t make for the best dining experience.I would say avoid this location and go next-door to aroma espresso bar… The staff there is probably just as disinterested, but at least they know how to acknowledge their customers as they are “serving” them.
This place is run like a well oiled machine. After standing outside in line for a while, we were quickly shepherded into the venue. As mentioned in other reviews, the seating is quite intimate. I loved it because you get to be so close to the artist. In my case it was Amel Larrieux. The drinks were small and watered down and the food wasnt anything to be celebrated. This didnt particularly bother me because I came here to be entertained. The amazing talent that has graced the tiny but vibrant stage makes up for everything else.
Terrible manager, he flirts with the females and plays favoritism, takes away hours from certain individuals while others get full time. dont work at this place or youll regret it.this place will fail and will never rise up from the crash they recently had, because of the unfairness.
This morning, I was told that a very friendly employee named Alex was laid off from your Company. I do not know the circumstances but Im very sorry to hear this because he was an asset for the Company, When he was there, the shelves were always filled and everyone received a warm welcome. He was one of the reasons to go back every morning. Several times I told him to apply for a manager position, he has the most difficult qualities to find, leadership and empathy. As I mention before, I do not know the reasons for the lay of but I will miss him.Good luck,Gloria ArbeloDaily customer
In my opinion, just expensive ($7-12) sandwiches that are stale pre wrapped made earlier fare. By enlarge they are almost all bread, some wilted lettuce, almost no meat (and I mean that it seems like it is less than 2oz), and a spattering of other ingredients. Go down the block to Subway and get fresh bread reasonable meat at $5 for a footlong, that what I do now.
This is a typical of NYC food these days, Overpriced, miniature portions. And food that has already been prepared well in advance and sitting on a shelf waiting for hungry people to buy it. Not to mention soup out of a plastic bag poured into the vat. Not my type of place, plenty of real Deli type places around that will give you the real lunch you deserve!

2022-02-18This is a must go for lunch— really good options. Their lattes are great (I won a free one when I guessed how many coffee beans were in a cup! 😌).Only thing that has detracted from the experience is the overall friendliness of the staff— often there is little greetings and thank yous, and even just not talking at all to customers.

2022-03-15Deceiving from the outside, this Pret location has ample seating behind the registers. Standard food you would expect at Pret: salads, sandwiches, & soups are always fresh & delicious.

2019-12-05Turn down the music... pleaseLove everything about Pret A Manger. Clean, good food, price and service and as a Licensed NYC tout guide I send thousands of clients to Pret every year. The one thing I dont get is why does every location need to be a Nightclub with music so loud its sometimes difficult to talk. Im not sure what Marketing technique this is, but young folk will come either way as your prices are super reasonable. On that note, dont change anything but please consider the volume for the music in your various locations...
