Came here to celebrate my friends birthday.. I ordered the roasted pernil with white rice and red beans with a side of avocado.. the food was good the beans tasted a bit plain... And was brothy.. and didnt have much beans.. and my passion fruit mojito were great! The service provided was good.. felt they couldve been more attentive at one point our whole table needed refills and no one came around ...but thats okay as it was a bit busy.. would definitely like to come back to try other drinks and different foods on their menu..
This place is super cute and really small. You must be vaccinated to be allowed inside. The waiters and bartenders do not wear mask. However, they are vaccinated.I came in with a party of 8. Theres a bunch of rules. A limit to how long we can sit. If you want the bottomless mimosas, the entire table has to get it. We opted not to.Overall the ambiance is cute. They have a clear roof but with plants and fabric covering it. The decor was nice. Its cute, cozy, etc. They dont allow you to request any songs. So you are stuck listening to whatever the bartender plays. The waiter was so patient. He was super busy!! He had to take care of people inside and outside. The bar did move alot slower then we would of liked. We did wait long periods of times for drinks. We were seated right next to the bar so we could see him on his phone or hanging instead of making the drinks. That was a little annoying. My mom drive the waiter crazyyyyy. And he was so sweet and patient. I really give it to him. There were periods he was overwhelmed and forgot some items, etc so my mom wasnt happy. However, he rectified it and got us what we needed. He did good.I ordered myself a Passionfruit Margarita. It was realllly good. The remaining people at the table ordered beers and moscow mules and mimosas. All good.We ordered a whole bunch of starters. We got the cheese empanadas (dont order. It wasnt good at all). We ordered the broccoli and cheese tots, OMG so good, order this. We ordered the shrimps, sooo delicious, get this. We got yucca and regular fries, both delish. We ordered the fried chicken chunks, so good too.Overall, this place is def worth a visit. Especially if your in the area. They have outdoor seating for anyone whose non-vaccinated or wants to seat outside.
Staff was very friendly. Food was amazing. Music was great. The ambience of the place itself is great. Unfortunately we didn’t get a table until 40 minutes after our reservation time. The food also takes a really long time (almost an hour). It was worth the wait though because it was so good. There was a mistake in one of our orders, but the staff handled it well. It just took too long to get the correct item out so we said forget it. I’m hesitant to come again but I would like to try it again because I hear great things and the only downside were the wait times.
Went to celebrate my son birthday with friend and family. Food was good and the ambiance was nice. Decor provided a Caribbean vibe. The drinks were so so, bartender need more training about different drinks. Disappointed that we had reservations and were told at arrival that we had 90 minutes to eat and drink from the time we place our orders. What is that, if you are enjoying company and still purchasing. Bottomless mimosa is only if everyone at the table get the deal. Waiter was pleasant, despite that he was the one who had to tell us the rules.
Been dying to go to this hidden gem,and i was not disappointed! I made it a little before 4pm so i got the $25 bottomless mimosa deal for 1.5 hours. All the food was delicious, the standouts were the cod fish and yuca fries! The ambiance transformed you out of east harlem, with the murals and plants; even though you are outside with a roofto cover you: there are fans everywhere. The cherry on top was how amazing and attentive our server was, Amyn! You really dont find servers that make you feelcomfortable and make you feel welcomed. Alsohis co-worker Daniel came over and made us laugh. All in all go here!
Great place. Amazing vibe and delicious food. One thing that could’ve been better was the service. Everyone was very friendly, and there were zero issues with the staff’s attentiveness. I think the problem was a lack of organization on the waitstaff. It wasn’t very busy when we came but there were a few things that went wrong.First it took 15ish minutes for someone to come to our table after we were sat. The server was really apologetic once he realized we were waiting so long. Very nice server. The second problem was that they forgot about our dessert, and we had to clarify what we ordered with another server who came by to check on us. The third issue was that they added an extra drink to our bill that was meant for the next table over (we got a corrected bill after telling them). We’d definitely go back, it was a good experience overall. I don’t think the waitstaff communicates with each other enough, that’s my only suggestion.
Nice spot to visit in Harlem. Though it’s warm inside it is not unbearable. They do have fans circulating wind. Love the feel of the place and the servers were decent. I got the fried shrimp and my friend got the double fried pork. Both dishes were flavorful and portioned well. The passion fruit drink was delicious. Our first order of passion fruit came in a very small cup so be mindful. The server was kind enough to give us our refill in a mason jar. Perfect spot to catch up with friends.
Robert our server and Jasmine who helped him ( not sure if Im correct about her name) they were Awesome sauce!!! They were helpful about items on the menu and had everything correct. The food was very good and expensive $44 for a pitcher of sangria and half of a filet of salmon. Who does that. It was a graduation celebration and we had a good time.
I was pleasantly surprised. Took my wife, mother in law and sister in law on Mother’s Day. Three things stood out the most. The décor was unique and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. The food was tasty but a little over priced. The service was excellent, specially our server. Gabby V. Was attentive and made sure we were taken cared of from the time we sat down to the time we left. Gabby V. Whatever you are being paid, you deserve more!!!
This place made me feel like i was back in DR, the music was great and love how the place is decorated. Not a fan of the drinks and also they could be served in cuter cups. but they did have enough alcohol to get you tipsy. Food was good, I would definitely come back.
Great spot in Harlem. You really can’t go wrong with a $25 bottomless brunch! The passion fruit Bellini is where it’s at! Also, the food here is amazing. I had the surf & turf which included churrasco with chimichurri sauce, shrimp, and your choice of rice & beans. Shoutout to our server Sergielee who made the entire experience for my friends and I memorable. She was very attentive, pleasant & an overall good time. We will definitely be coming back.
That was above my expectations! Soooo incredible and cool! I am from Eastern Europe and my friend is from Caribbean Islands. But even with different cultures we enjoyed this place, food and so good and STUFF was so friendly 😊 only one minus, nobody brought napkins for us or silverware. But O had it in my bag💪🏻 all the rest was very good! BTW people can dance there! Highly recommend🎉🎉🎉
The food was good, waitress was excellent, service was quick. The only reason I am giving them a 3 star is because it was 87 degrees outside and it felt like it was 120 inside. They had these fans that didn’t really make a difference. There was a couple of units of ac but you could not even feel it. Other then the heat the vibe was good but you could have more invested in your AC Units.
The spot is nice, good outdoor seating in the actual patio area, good music, nice decor. Personally I wouldnt have enjoyed the attached street temporary construction so glad we werent seated there. We had a reservation and we were within the 15 minute grace period when we arrived but still had to wait another 15 minutes to be seated as the walk ins management looked to be crazy for the staff. We got quick attention from Micah once seated which was good and ordered our drinks. We made sure to get our food order in quick as we could tell the place was at capacity but still ended up waiting over an hour for our food. Micah checked on us frequently and apologized. Eventually the manager came around and also assured us the food would come soon. It took some more time however and not all of us got our food at the same time. The manager apologized and did comp us a pitcher of what we were drinking and some deserts so between Micahs service, the manager trying to make things better and the food which was delicious once it did arrive the experience was saved and I would both return and recommend it to others just maybe not during the weekend.
Took me awhile to go here & let me say it was worth it! Drinks, food, & service was on point. Had an issue with a manager where he thought my friend was an employee and demanded he do something even after my friend told him he doesnt work there. The second interaction with that manager was when it was brought to his attention that the restroom was full of vomit and clogged and the managers reply was “Thats y we have plungers for”. Wether my friend was an employee or not, that’s not how you address anybody. My other friend brought it to his attention and the manager later apologized atleast and everything got better from there. Our waiter (tall light skin spanish guy) was very attentive and provided an amazing service. Aside from that I give this location 5 stars! Can’t wait to go back again.
Amazing food and friendly staff. Great music cool vibe in East Harlem. Brunch is amazing, unlimited of a drink. Mimosa great sangrita great and the passion fruit Bellini great. The sauces are amazing as well. Had the chicharrón de pollo as well. Totally recommend this place. Support black-owned, Dominican owned, inclusive of all identities, diverse staff, uptown restaurant and community enhancer! Forgot to mention. This place will make sure you have a good time and are caring if any problems arise. Seen some situations this place handled really well!
So I was meeting my girls for lunch here. One of the girls made the reservations for 12pm. When I arrived I found parking a little distance, on the street. When I walked in I seen my girlfriends and joined them. The spot wasnt that big but they did their best to socially distance. Our server was Cassandra and she was pretty good. For drinks I ordered the sangrita and it was very tasty and had some kick to it. The girls ordered the same and liked theirs as well. For my entrée I ordered the oxtail with yellow rice. That was tasty as well and very tender. The girls ordered different things and I didnt hear a complaint. Everyone finished their meals as well so that was a good sign. The cost was about $350 including gratuity and a service charge. All in all we had a good experience.
I wrote a good review when I first went to this place a year ago, however it seems once their business has grown, they begin to get cheap with their servings. I ordered through grubhub two times and for 17-20 dollars. They send a very small container of roast pork and for another 17 dollars I got one piece of chicken and a whole aluminum container with white rice. This place has to do better. Dont try to cheat your online customers. Its bad business. The pic below was a year ago. People should see what they serve now for online orders. Very disappointing.
We pulled up for a table of two with no reservation and was seated immediately. There’s a happy hour on drinks . The drinks were good and were all All beer / wine infused . I had a spicy margarita Which was good . All the drinks. Came in plastic cups and they offer plastic utensils as well which I liked . The staff wore mask and were very friendly and welcoming .For an appetizer we had the chicken chunks but it went so fast I didn’t get a pic. That’s how good they were ! Lol for dinner I got the stew chicken with yellow rice and beans which was good as well . The food was seasoned well and not too salty . The portion was decent .They have a bunch I definitely want to return for that .If you’re in the area don’t hesitate!!
TikTok made me do it, and oh my God, the food was amazing! The music?? Makes you wanna get up and dance, and the drinks were awesome. They also offered us free drinks. I definitely wanna go back and try different things from their menu. Plus the lady that helped us was really great( forgot to take her name)
I reserved a table for brunch for 3:30pm, still had to wait about an hour outside, we finally got seated at 4:32pm. The calamari and mozzarella sticks were good. The entrees took about 2 hours to get to my table. Not only that but my food came cold. All of our food arrived expect for my husbands. He ordered the white rice and beans with chicharron de pollo, instead of informing him that the white rice ran out and if he wanted anything else, they served him yellow rice which he does not eat. The staff talks to each other terribly. I won’t be eating here again.
Service is the WORST. We were first told we will have a table then a different waitress tells us that its was by reservation only. Finally got seated after 40 mins. We ordered appetizer as soon as we sat arrived 20 mins after. Server never came to us again . We never received any napkins, plates for appetizers, nothing. No one even came by to see if we wanted another drink. We had to wave her down like 5 times to get attention. And still an 1 hour and 45 mins later and food had not arrived. Definitely not a place we will be visiting. This has been the worst experience I have ever had.
I hate to write such a bad review for this restaurant but I had a really horrible experience with two of the waitresses. One decided to pour the rest of the Bellini in my friends cup as a way to tell us to hurry and leave. Even though we had only been there for an hour. After we mentioned this to the waitress, she went and got another waiter who had an even worse attitude. To avoid further conflict, we decided to leave. As I was leaving, she said a few nasty remarks, then dipped her hand in a cup and threw water at me. Most workers at this restaurant saw this and only chose to laugh.
As A Beer Garden, It Misses The Mark. We Headed Over After Patsys Thinking Beer Garden. From The Smell Of It The Food Is Excellent, However We Went To The Beer Garden For Beer; Which They Had Maybe A Dozen. Mixed Drinks Also Looked Good. Really Just The Beer In Beer Garden Is Missing?!
The reservation time is not as you book. We made reservation for 3:30, we sat at 4:52pm. You will be waiting beyong reservation time. The wait time for the Food was so long we had to order three apetizers of calamares, mozarellla sticks. French fries, the mojito was done baddddd. We all left it at table is not the mojito we know! We ordered white rice and we were told no more white rice, and given yellow rice, also the beans looks old for days. It is a cute lil space, very noisy, nice vibe though. But I will not recommend to anyone. I will never return here again. Thank you but no thanks!!! Bye santiago!
Dont order pickup or delivery. Its ok if you want to go in and sit and wait a long time. But its over priced and it took three times as long as they said it would for pickup. Most of it is pre-made in buffet heaters. Why would it take an hour?P.S. They sent me without any dip for the Yuca Fries.
Many thanks to the staff at Santiagos Beer Garden for making my daughter and our guests feel special. I traveled from Long Island to celebrate my daughters 15th birthday here on Saturday, June 11th, and it was well worth it. The staff, from the manager to the waitress, were super friendly and helpful. They moved tables around to accommodate our guests and waited patiently to take our orders, even though we arrived late. We never felt rushed and were there for about three hours. Also, the food was excellent, and the music was great. Thanks to the wonderful folks at Santiagos, including Genesis and Mikah, we all had a memorable afternoon.
This little place in the middle of harlem has very good atmosphere. The food was good very tasty and well presented good flavor the mojito sauce was amazing defitnetly have it with the tostones. The yuca fries were incredibly good not oily at all and you can actually taste the yuca. I believe that the only thing thats missing in the plate is maduros(sweet plantains), every meal that has rice and beans or morro goes well with maduros at least 2 pieces on the plate like sweet garnish. When it comes down to the food hands down two thumbs up. The drinks mhhh not to good, it taste artificial flavor and for a $12 small cup or even a $40 pitcher ( which by the way only serves 3 cups fully) is not worth it the pitcher comes all water down from all the ice they put in. Service.... not that great the girls have no clue who gets what they ordered, at my table there was a whole confusion and some of the plates came in with different sides that were not ordered. Overall food is amazing to take out but to dine in be ready to spend because it becomes pricey would recommend to take out food instead of ordering in.
I had made reservation and still waited over 40 minutes until we decided to just leave. What I dont understand when I made the reservation through the Open Table app, I noticed their timeframes are every 30 minutes, which in my opinion, would cause over crowded waiting time, that does not make sense! Anywayz, not going to bother with selecting this restaurant again. Theres many others nearby.
The atmosphere was nice, kind of reminded me of Wynwoods in Miami.Beautiful art on the walls.Great Chicharron de Pollo(fried chicken chunks) and Yuca fries. The chicken Mofongo was delicious and their flan too. I felt like I was back home at my Parents place having yummy Dominican food.It was my 1st time there and I see myself going back. Our server was a delight..She kept making sure we had all we needed and even brought us xtra MOJO sauce for our Chicharron.
Lovely atmosphere and super friendly servers. Nice drinks, too. Unfortunately, I was saddened to discover that my only vegan options from the entire menu were white rice, garden salad with a side of plain sliced avocado. The rest of the vegan friendly sides like French fries, maduros, tostones, yuca fries, etc. were compromised since they couldn’t be cooked separately from the oil used to fry other animal proteins. Honestly, to be established in NYC and not accommodate for this basic dietary request, feels unacceptable at this point. I hope this changes but if Santiago’s Beer Garden doesn’t make adjustments to their kitchen and their menu, this restaurant could potentially struggle to grow and thrive in this ever evolving city.
I imagine this restaurant/beer garden attracts a lot of business. The atmosphere gets a thumbs up, the music was great, They have a beautiful outdoor seating area that’s full of color and plant life! The food was brought out quickly, I only waited about 10 minutes. They have a nice variety of drinks. To eat I had their “Garlic shrimp and moro con coco” because it sounded appealing. I was so pleased with my order! I don’t eat seafood much but I must say that these garlic shrimp were finger-licking good! Overall an amazing experience, can’t wait to return :)
Rebecca made our experience absolutely amazing. My husband and I stopped by for dinner with some friends and her attentiveness was amazing. She helped ensure our dinner experience was phenomenal. The only thing that could’ve made our experience better would’ve been a cafe flavored flan 🤤 they were out of flan when we went. Otherwise a perfect evening! We’d be sure to come back when we’re in town!
Service is horrible. They cannot even get me a salad on time. Everyone looks like they’re extremely high. I would never come back here or recommend this place for anyone. The grilled chicken was so salty it could season all other 10 plates at this table. Extremely disappointed.
Have to admit, the food here is excellent. Praise to the chef. I never thought I would be liking Dominican food, however this establishment has food that is seasoned well, very flavorful and cooked right. Taste so good make you wanna slap yo mama. The service is also impeccable from the host to the servers. Keep it up, this was my first time here and will be coming back!
Drove by one day and thought it was a function so I wanted to check it out. Santiagos just opened up in the neighborhood and so mouthwatering I wanted to leave the first review! This Dominican spot is going to be all the rave when they get their liquor license. The outdoor seating is lovely and spacious perfect for a summer night!I got there late (around 9) and ordered Chicharrones de Pollo to snack on. I wasnt expecting such flavor! Im thinking theres no way its food left over! The yellow rice that came with it was so fluffy and fresh and the meat wasnt dry or overcooked like the typical Spanish cuchifrito would serve it.Santiagos is official! It felt authentic. Its not some gentrifying outsider trying to take over so you wont feel out of place in your own neighborhood. They also have a pretty waitress thatll take really good care of you. Im coming back to get drunk!
I had an amazing time today! I celebrated my birthday with the girls and it was better than I could have imagined! The food was wonderful, the drinks were so good, the vibe was amazing, the service was perfect from the moment we arrived to the moment we left! Our server Amyn was amazing and even the young lady in the entrance (I hate that I cannot remember her name) was soo sweet! Thank you so much! Will definitely recommend and return!
First time coming to Santiago’s and absolutely love the ambiance, the staff was lovely and attentive. We had Daniel as our waiter and he was amazing. The food was ok. Lacked flavor. We all had steak and it was literally just ok. Was no well seasoned however they listened to our needs. Yuca fries were great. Overall I Loved it place. Will I come here again? Maybe not.
Great food! Our server Daniel was the best! Great environment all around. Second time there for my birthday and got Daniel as my server again. Made my day so much better. They have AC units now so the place stays nice and cool. 10/10 would return again if able to have Daniel as my server.
Food was really great in terms of portion & taste. Matthew (if I’m not mistaken) , manager, was very attentive and friendly to all guests. Kimberly was also great as being our server for the day. The co-workers all work as a unit even on a busy day. 5 star I& highly recommended!
10/10!!! I can’t wait to go back. Music was awesome! I love that they switched it up too, it wasn’t only Spanish music playing. The food was amazing! Giving four stars because the wait on our food was very long but they gave us each a free drink for the wait. Amazing place and decor! Don’t think twice.. Go to Santiago’s beer garden today!
This place absolutely blew my friends and I away. We chose Santiago’s based off of the reviews and it did not disappoint. At first it seemed like things could go south after being served watered down drinks BUT it was quickly rectified and all the staff were accommodating as well as friendly! The FOOD had flavor for days. I had the skirt steak and it was mouth watering. They cooked it perfectly! Once our drinks were fixed we ordered a few more. Certainly left Santiago’s Beer Garden full and buzzed! The only real down side was the warmth inside the restaurant. It has a green house vibe and the sun was beaming which made it terribly hot. But overall great experience and would be back.
AN ABSOLUTE GEM!!! we had a large party and from start to finish, Santiagos was a great place to host a birthday family dinner. Food was delicious. Oxtails fell off the bone. William was our server and he was phenomenal. Great location. Outdoor seating was heated. Beautiful interior. Highly recommended answer will return!!!!
The location of the place looked a bit different than Ive seen in the online photos and on Instagram. Looks a bit nicer online. HOWEVER, you forget all about that as soon as youre greeted because the SERVICE IS AMAZING. From the host (which Im not sure if he was the owner) to the server, you will receive GREAT FRIENDLY SERVICE. Amazing energy and super friendly. Also, THE FOOD IS AMAZING. If you want some GREAT DOMINICAN FOOD, this is the place to go. Overall, very pleased with my experience. Thank-you!
Yesterday I went there for brunch. The food was very good and came out fast. The mimosas and Bellini had a very sour taste almost like it was expired. The waiter was very nice but he kept disappearing. If I lived in the neighborhood, I would return but since I live in NJ and it was just okay I will not be coming back. Also there were a lot of flies.
I was at Santiagos last night with my son and a friend. It was a very good experience and I will visit again. Nice ambience. The food was good and tasty. Love the presentation. Drinks were fine. Our waiter, Randy, was the best. Nice, warm personality, good sense of humor. I love that you can sit anywhere without the bothersome hookas that are part of so many places nowadays. The only reason I take away a star is because even though the music was diverse, I found that it was kind of loud and I had to raise my voice to be heard.
Been here twice already and it’s always a good time & food. The music playing is always a vibe. Appetizers & the meal are delicious. Being there makes me feel like I’m literally in Dominican Republic. Management & the servers are great, the food is quick as well and super fresh. I’ve had the empanadas as a appetizer, the churrasco with shrimp as a meal with tostones. The side orders are big, great to share. I bought my mom a order to go of moro with eggplant and she really enjoyed it. My significant other, had the fried shrimp and maduros with rice and beans and also enjoyed it. It’s a lot of food so try going when your hunger is steady rather than starving. One of the best things about Santiago’s beer garden is you’re able to make a reservation. Walk ins are welcomed but you’re better off just doing a reservation just so you have a secure spot. A lot of people I know also have gone during brunch and it’s very popular on tik tok so it’s def worth it
Horrible service the waitress took long with our order gave us the wrong food then dropped green sauce on my fiancé’s white sneakers and Jeans and hardly apologetic, the drinks are trash and they have the audacity to have us waiting outside for 2 hours and the food is dry and bland if I can give 0 stars I would this isPreposterous
My friend and I went here for a late lunch. There was no wait. The waiters were very personable and friendly. My friend ordered empanadas and fried plantains. I ordered fried chicken chunks with rice & beans. Both of our meals were very flavorful. The mojitos (with agave wine) were amazing! I would definitely go back.
Found this spot via TikTok and decided to check it out for my cousins birthday. Food was yummy the atmosphere is cozy and cute. You definitely forget that your in Harlem. The staff was just perfect! They Literally make the place even better. We had the bottomless Bellinis and whew Chile I was done!! They definitely aren’t greedy with the drinks and we felt amazing lol. I can’t wait to go back. I do wish the place was a little bigger and the entrance wasn’t confusing but other then that I definitely recommend.
Simply amazing. First off the service just blew me away, Jefri was very attentive and his attention to detail was phenomenal. Jefri even recommended his signature drink “The Jefri Special”, very potent and delicious. The food was so good reminded me of home. All in all my visit was amazing! I will definitely be back very soon.
Pros: France ( like Paris, France) is super cute. Ya need to keep her!!!The ambiance is cute. Definitely makes for some nice pictures.Service is actually really good. We had a nice tanned, red haired server and she was awesome. Tried not to rush us into ordering food, was polite, and super attentive.Drinks were super tasty. We had pitchers of margarita. Shouts to the bartender.Food looked awesome.Cons: (very few) I had the chicharron de pollo con hueso. Super salty chicken. I tried to bring the salt down a bit with the mojito, but thats was also a bit too salty. The coconut rice was cold.An out of town relative came to visit for the weekend so we were trying to catch up while enjoying it all, but it felt a bit rushed, due to the 90 minute dining window.I would definitely give it another shot though, maybe try something else.
It was the besttt place for a brunch day . The food was phenomenal and the service from our server Daniel was the best . He was very friendly and made sure we had the best service . We were always with a refill it was the best experience! If you go request Daniel one of the best servers ever !!! My birthday twin !!!
I stumbled upon this place by accident because I work around the corner. So yesterday eve was the 1st time going. I will start with the positives I love The ambiance décor and vibes in this place. The host Kimberly was very nice She Made every effort to get us a reservation inside on a busy Friday summer evening. We were Quickly seated when my friend arrived. Now I must say the music is way too loud here Its not enjoyable to be screaming While having dinner and youre sitting side-by-side with the person and also trying to hear what the waitress is saying vice versa. The waitress I think her name was Jessica long dark ponytail a lot of tattoos she was not the friendliest ,at least to us because she barely cracked a smile. She also didnt know the menu very well in terms of how food is prepared or the wine list she could not explain much of anything. I ordered a side of beans because she didnt tell me the coconut rice already had beans in it she actually said it does not come with beans and she brought the beans out close to the end of the meal didnt even apologize or offer to Take it off the bill. My friend has food allergies and one thing the waitress did make sure to let the chef know and told my friend so she felt comfortable. At one point my friend and I were screaming at each other so much to hear over the loud music, I asked the waitress if they could just lower it a little bit And instead of saying that she will ask she was seeming like it wasnt possible so I told her to please ask And it seems like she did because they lowered it just a Tadd bit. this is not a night club the music doesnt have to be blaring for people to enjoy themselves I think it should be at a conversational level.Ending on a positive note here the food was very delicious well seasoned and filling. We enjoyed it very much. Drinks were okay but please serve everyone with a glass instead of some with plastic cups.I will be back here but I will not have the waitress again and probably will sit on the sidewalk to avoid the very loud music.
It could be a nice place. They have inside and outside dining. My group dined inside and the chairs are uncomfortable, they allowed people inside with their pets (dogs and its not a large space) very unsanitary. The food was decent. I didnt particularly enjoy my order but the rest of my party enjoyed theirs and we ordered many different things off the appetizer and entrée menu. But its a cute space they can transform into a nice spot.
Great spot for food & music. Also has a Very cute ambiance. My only complaint are the drinks. If your looks for alcohol this is not the place, as they do not serve the drinks you would be familiar with. I believe they dont have a liquor license. However they do sell beer.
Kassandra was an excellent waitress/server! She was very attentive and patient with my friends and I, even when we slightly overstayed our table time. She was engaging and friendly! She is the main reason I would ever return! The bartender Nelson was also very friendly and helpful, as well as the manager (with the pink hat!)(Admittedly, there was one staff member that was a bit short with me in tone, and overall stony, which I did NOT appreciate)The setting is relatively small, so definitely make a reservation before going, and be on time! The food was okay and a good portion (I had the oxtails) and the drinks were very strong. Music is lively and really creates a safe brunch setting despite COVID.
Visited with friends yesterday early evening and it was packed. Woman @ front door said there was a 25 minute wait. I opened door & looked inside. People are packed next to each other & nobody wearing a mask😩. It was very noisy also. I asked the woman employee why nobody was wearing a mask indoors as well as no posting on front door about Safety and mask wearing indoors. Of cause, the mask should only come off while you are chewing your food. This woman who obviously doesn’t watch the news and is unaware of recent Mask wearing precautions with indoor and outdoor dining said “the governor said we don’t have to wear masks!” I attempted to tell her the true accurate policy and she became annoyed. Happy we didn’t eat there. Management appears to be ignorant to Covid mask wearing. The display inside this restaurant was surely a potential for a COVID SPREADER. Happy we went over to West Harlem which was cleaner, trendier and had indoor mask wearing. Food was great, no loud noise and sophistication.
The food and drinks were Amazing , but my experience in this place is also is an attest to my server Randy! He explained all the dishes in full detail , answered any questions We had and made my Anniversary lunch one to remember, I will frequent this establishment once again in the near future as it exceeded my expectations in all criterias
We came, we saw, we ate, we are moving on. $70 spent on mojito that did not taste like mojito, and where are the beans? It was bean sauce for the both us. Together we can count on two hands how many beans we got. Pernil was good and the rice but I would definitely not come back. I wouldnt rave to my friends either to come check this place out. Two stars cause the staff were nice but the food and drinks....not worth me coming back to. Sucks. Because we were excited.
Where do I start?! had an amazing time ! I’ve been to this establishment and each time the experience gets better and better. The food is ALWAYS delicious, the drinks are great and it’s always service with smile. I want to take a second to shoutout Franklin who was an amazing waiter and made sure that my friend and I were taken care of throughout the duration of our time at the restaurant. He was kind, charismatic and on point with his food and drink recommendations! The ambiance of SBG definitely makes you feel like you’re relaxing somewhere on an island or a beach. For my first time outdoor dining since the Pandemic began, it was an absolute pleasure. You can guarantee that I will be back.
The food and service is great. I really loved the ambiance. There are a lot of nice floral decorations and lights. I ate the chicharrón de pollo and rice and beans tastes very authentic. However, I found the chicken a little too salty and the drinks to be overpriced. Another complaint was that the service took very long, but I enjoyed the food so much anyway. I came here for a class project on latin food. Im coming back very soon!
I had the best time! The food was amazing, atmosphere and management was amazing! They hosted my birthday and accommodated all my needs. It was truly a blessing! Matthew, the owner was attentive and on sight. He also made sure that my party was happy and satisfied. This was such a great birthday! Santiago’s is the place to be! You won’t be disappointed. Stop in and taste the decadence. 5 stars! 🌟🌟
Was visiting town and went with my family to try this place out. They accomodated our party of 7 very quickly however when it came to our food it went down the drain. After almost an 1.5 hr we asked how come it was taking so long and were told they ran out of a couple of items we had ordered..an hour and a half of wasted time and nobody could approach us sooner to see if we would choose something else!! We paid for a couple of very expensive sangrías and sodas ($34) and walked out. First and last time 🙄
Its been a while since I was by.But It seems to be doing great. Will have to stop by.Chef Eddie SantiagoPulled my 5 stars.Tried going in around 5pm this evening, wanted to have a drink while I looked over menu, was told by the women at the side door, that the bar was closed and if I wanted a drink it would have to be at a booth or outside.Went back around corner to the front, out front very dirty.Tried to explain to the person who kept calling me Sir, Even though I asked him to Call me Eddie. as in Chef Eddie local google guide. Was paid no mind even after trying to explain, that I would like to take a moment look, at the menu and food.I quess that they are making so much money that they did not see that I have money too.Could care less, I will not be going back.If I want Spanish food, not only can I cook it myself, but there are plenty of other places, were.I can spend my hard earned coin.Take your money elsewhere.
I came Friday (6/26) for the outdoor dining and the ambience is beautiful, the waitresses were all very personable and even funny, and the food was top notch. My only complaint is that it felt like a sauna, I wish their ac wouldve been on.Please go to Santiagos Beer House because the food is so delicious and the prices are definitely reasonable.
The food here is amazing but if you’re not prepared to dine in and would much rather do takeout then find some other place. They are incompetent and unprofessional the first time I ordered takeout (through their preferred site) their system was down and I waited 45 mins for my food. Fine. Today I called 4 times prior before giving up and ordering through Grubhub for takeout. I go in and they ask for the receipt then tell me to wait 6 mins so I went out to the car and gave them 10 mins when I get back they ask for the receipt again and they tell me that the system was down again and that they never received it. This is when I understandingly got mad and told them that this was unprofessional and then the child in front talked down to me like I was one of his little friends and told me that he’s trying to work with me and that he thought my order was in the system but then he didn’t see it and didn’t tell me cuz I walked out. (Didn’t know I was supposed to stand on the wall and wait when they limit one person at a time) and then tells me that I have an attitude and that I’m being mean when I’m just stating that this is the second time that they do this and they don’t answer the phone and their site is down. He said they don’t answer the phone cuz they’re busy (wow I guess for an Instagram viral place 6 orders is a lot) guess they can afford to lose clients (for now) I then ask through where am I supposed to order and he said through Grubhub or Uber eats. This was already the 3rd time I mentioned ordering through Grubhub and the two times I showed the receipt it clearly says GrubHub. I said I did order through Grubhub and he finally took a good look at the receipt and my food was the only ready order on the counter. Then he tried to make me seem like I was the idiot. Food was 10/10 but I’m never doing takeout from here again. The dine in staff is much nicer and professional
Booked a reservation 3 weeks in advance for a party of 12. On the day of the reservation we arrived to have them seat us outdoors in the freezing rain with one heater on. When we asked if we could switch tables, we were told that it wasn’t possible. I don’t understand how walk-in Customers get priority for seating over those with a reservation. That is the entire point of a reservation. I only want to give the Harlem location 2 stars because the food and drinks were still decent. But management needs to really pre plan for reservations and not give those spaces up to walk in’s especially when they are early and on time for their reservation. Please have some business sense, you’re the only beer garden in Harlem but that does not mean you can be so disorganized and inconsiderate about reservations. What a disappointment.
Selina helped us yesterday with a last minute, time sensitive bday celebration for my brother. The drinks were amazing and the service was extremely warm & polite and due to our time restraint very speedy. We definitely will be back bc the calamari we took to go was incredible! Thanks so much!
Originally I wanted to give this place 0 stars. Since I arrived there my experience was just horrible. However I have to say the manager did try her best to accommodate us.1. I called to make a reservation the day before for 7pm. The girl on the phone told me “great please try to arrive 10min before”. No problem I get there and my reservation never made it to the list. Then according to them the best they can do is put me on the wait list which was a 2 hour wait. This was fine I’m not going to stress it. Friends and I went to a local bar to have some drinks while we waited.2. Two hours exactly we walked back and we were up next on the list. We were sat right away (AWESOME) The manager offered first round of drinks on the house due to the mix up. Which was nice of her and totally didn’t have to do that. Which we all appreciated very much.3. We order our food and drinks. Drinks comes out right away however I was glad they were on the house. They currently don’t have top shelf liquor due to their liquor license so the drinks were watery to my taste. But they try to make it work. Then about 10 minutes later someone comes to inform us that they did not have pollo guisado (stew chicken) and yellow rice! That they had run out. So my friend had to completely change her order 🤦🏻♀️4. Food finally came out for two people in the party. My food never came out and one of the plates had the wrong side. After waiting and waiting I proceed to find the manager. I explained to her the situation and once again she offered drinks on the house and that she was going to find out what’s going on with my food. (Churrasco and Yuca fries) A few minutes later she comes with my food.*** the churrasco was super cold and the yuca fries were nice and hot and really good. ***Over all the hype about this place is not worth it. The two hour wait is not worth.I do however appreciate the waiter, the hostess and the manager. They were all extremely nice and not rude. The manager did try her best to accommodate us. So shout out to her.
Woke up today still not over how good my dinner was yesterday. Had to come let google know. Food was AMAZING. Basic Latin dishes but they must throw love in their cooking cause... yea.Perfect sized portions. Such a cute place, can’t wait to go back in the rain since the roof is glassish — looks soothing.Perfect date spot honestly.
One of the worst experiences at a restaurant I had. I had reserved a table for a party of 5 for 3pm and did not get seated until 4:45pm. The hostess blamed the delay on the reservation system that does not limit the amount of reservations made online. The location has a 90 minute time limit but there was a table seated for at least 2 and a half hours.Once we were seated the place was so loud that we could barely talk. The apps were ok but not worth the almost 2 hour wait. The pernil, steak and churrasco were extremely bland and lacked flavor. The 3 leches cake tasted good and made me question if it was made in house. The only saving grace was the server who was attentive to our needs and kept refilling our cups of water. For a place that is so heavily promoted on social media it should use a reservation system that works and actually follow their own table time limits. While we were waiting for our table at least 3 parties of 3+ people left due to the disorganized mess of the reservation system.
Dont waste your time or money, I went here Thursday 8/20/20 . I came with a few girls & we had a reservation for 7:30 ,wasnt seating into 8:00 cause we had to wait on a table. We all ordered our food & it was not good at all the steak was DRY & I pretty much paid $27 for rice & beans, all of the other ladies at the table said the same thing the food was not good. Then we go to pay , the lady forgets to give my friend back her credit card we had to take a cab back over there smh cause she was to busy running her mouth to the people she was working with ... It was a Spanish lady with long fake eyelashes & some highlights in her hair . Her service sucked !!!!
So sad I really wanted to come here but I won’t be trying again any time soon because of how much of a waste of time it ended up being. Arrived on a Sunday for brunch with a friend. Tried making a reservation online but apparently they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more. If you’re a party of 5 or less it’s just first come, first serve. I came with a friend and we were told there was a waiting list. She put our name on the list and she took my number. She said wait was about 2 hours and I said okay, she said they’d call me and I had to be within 15 minutes. My friend and I stayed locally and waited but they never called us. I tried calling but they didn’t answer... we ended up just going somewhere else as I wasn’t going to walk back just to get denied. Hostess stated they don’t have many tables for two which doesn’t make sense as they should be accommodating all of their customers.
I was so excited to be there with family and friends and its so not far away or deep into Manhattan....the food was a great price....wish there was a bit more food tho and the drinks needed to be a tad more stronger but overall the beans where my favorite and usually I do not leave without taking some of my food home, but this time I ate the whole thing bc I couldnt help it! The music was inviting....they even turned it up more as requested even though it was a Monday night! Such a blessed time....I would def go there again! Shout out to the chef!!!! And the servers! Thank you guys ❤️
Came on a gorgeous Saturday. Low-key vibe with ample seating. Service was always quick. Decent selection of beers and cocktails (all made with soju). We tried the sliders which were simple but flavorful. A lot of other guests had food that looked and smelled delicious. Prices are fair. Would definitely come back.
I had herd a couple of whispers about this place and was excited to come with my best friend however my visit took a turn for the worst. We arrived and ordered the Caprihini pitcher only to try it and and be surprised by the refreshing but not expected gulp of sprite how sad is that. We also orders the coconut rice with beans and maduros. It was nothing but arroz con gondulez con nada no coconut no peppers nunca nada. So we ordered a beer each the satisfy our thirst then proceed to ask for our bill since the menu really held no excitement and long behold the waiter charged us for the $40 pitcher we didn’t touch and asked him to take back and the food but not our beers. Then when we ask about why we were incorrectly charged he wailed his arms cutting our sentence off by saying you “don’t have to do all of this, you don’t have to do all of this” and allOf what sir explaining to you how your not gonna get one over on us. Sorry but not sorry I wouldn’t recommend this place to the homeless guy on the corner.
The food was ehhokay, I had the codfish, it was DRY, chewy and salty. My coconut rice was dry, bland. Little didnt knobi wouldnt get red beans with it. I ordered Maduros, called em plantains as well as Maduro for good measure, it was left off of my order. Idk if they treat dine in better as this was take out but I wont be coming back. Also there is a discrepancy between the menu prices listed and take out prices. Ordered a mojito, it was the only thing I enjoyed
Ok so first, the food is great, but overall the service was horrible. I went here with a friend who is visiting NYC. We came as walk in and spoke to the hostess, she told us to wait, which is understandable since we had no reservations for the time we came in. We put ourselves on the waitlist and came back an hour later since we didnt get a call back. The hostess again SAME HOSTESS*** told us she does not remember us and insisted that it was not her that we gave our information too. She clearly did not want to deal with us or sit us down. Mind you it was not busy at all!! We finally sat in and she had the nerve to say “ Do you want to sit down” um duh we been waiting for an hour to be seated. We sit down, took a while to see us once we sat down. We got our starters and drinks and in the middle of it she decided to move us. I thought ok cool, maybe there for people who have reservations. Whatever we sat where she told us to go. But nobody sat where we were previously sitting at. I think it was because they wanted to keep a closer look at us which was weird* plus I caught them speaking while looking at us. I felt so much tension where she sat us at. From other people and the workers. It was much better where we were previously sitting at.She charged my friend 7 times for a sangarita and only got one. Now imagine if someone was drunk and paid the full price. And she was rude when we told her about the mistake also when we wanted to pay already and leave. I dont know her name, but she has blue greenish eyes and blondish hair Please fix your service for this is unacceptable.
First off when you go to the original address it looks small. No worries thats not the beer garden, its around the corner. Make sure you get a seat by the ACs or else you will be HOT. The vibe was amazing and I had a great time for brunch. Danielle was our server and she was sweet and knowledgeable of everything we asked. We also did bottomless mimosas and Bellinis and tmthey were incredible. Highly recommend this place!
I’m at this place now to place an order for salmon. The girl didn’t know the price of the salmon. She asked 4 people and one said I THINK it’s $13. This is totally unacceptable. I work around the corner and me and my coworkers spend a lot of money here. They just lost me. Please follow up
You order one thing, they send you whatever they want. I ordered 4 cheese pastelitos and received 4 beef. When I called the restaurant for some sort of resolution, no one could be bothered to care. It’s hard to support restaurants when the level of service is below par.

2022-04-19🇩🇴🥘🧆🍲🍽🍷🍹🥂🎨🖼. A live, laugh, love type of restaurants. The food was delicious… a bit salty but fine. The artwork and mural was nice. Beautiful skylight if you want to talk photos. To me, as much as I didn’t drink, I didn’t get the sense that this was a beer garden. In fact I saw no beer being served. While it is a relaxing space, it felt like false advertising.

2022-02-27Went for brunch and the space was so nice. There’s a clear sun roof so we got natural light and it was a plus considering we were indoors technically. Bottomless is $25 pp mimosas or Bellinis. The mimosas were good they weren’t light handed with the pitcher. I got the roasted pernil with rice and beans and my friend got the fried chicken chunks with rice and beans. Ordered a side of avocado to cut through the deliciousness of the food. Our waiter Anthony was really helpful with ordering and the rest of the staff were also pleasant. Definitely going back to try other dishes!

2022-04-25I couldn’t wait to bring a friend to Santiago’s to have a great meal and drinks. Our server, Brian was friendly and attentive. The pernil and oxtails were savory and fresh. The ambience is chill and decor is creatively artistic. I will be back again bringing new future customers!Back again today 4/25 with some friends. We all loved our food and drinks. Thank you to Moses for taking care of us! Photos- steak and onions, pernil and bacalao

2022-05-21Once you enter its a little cute place with a beautiful painting of an woman with a tree Afro. It was a little warm inside and the tables are way, too close together. I think this is cool if your dining in a group. The food came out nice and hot. The rice was a little bland but once I added the beans, it tasted better. The beans gave the rice flavor! The drinks were meh. Even though its a beer garden, I did not try thier beer (I didnt see people drinking beer when I was there). I met the manager and he was extremely nice. He was helping out his staff. Also my waitress was nice, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu!

2022-05-19I went on a Sunday for brunch. The decor is lovely; its ideal for group outings; and the service was excellent. The yellow rice lacked flavor, and for 23 dollars, I would have loved more shrimp. Also, the Santiago Punch was weak.

2022-01-22I came for a brunch with three of my friends, the day was very nice to have an outdoor meal. We had one hour and a half to other any pitchers of alcohol while we order so food.Santiagos Beer Garden is a nice restaurant with Dominican background food, the menu has a lot of option that represents the food back home in the Dominican Republic. We share the fries Shrimp for our appetizers, the shrimp was super delicious so delicious that we end getting two.For my main course, I had the Churrasco (Skirt Steak) with yuca frita. The yuca frita was super crispy and very delicious on point, but once I dipped on the pink sauce it gives an extra touch which makes it want to lick your finger. The churrasco came with curry on it, was super big and super delicious the only bad thing that was cooked well done, while I ask it for medium-rare. But because it had good taste and was super delicious, I did not mention anything to our waiter. The staff did a great job always on point re-fill our drinks went was necessary

2021-10-08We had made reservations for a table of 4 and preferred inside seating because their setup was what intrigued us. Our hostess was very accommodating and sat us 3 hours before our reserved time, because we couldnt find any seating at our preferred time. For a place which has Beer garden in its name, we really hoped they had some beers on tap. All beers here are served in bottle. The place was relatively busy at 1 pm on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We ordered the Empanadas Trio ($13) for starters and they were just ok. We also ordered the Mozzarella Sticks ($12) which we could not finish. For mains, I ordered the Sin Carne Rice, Beans & Maduros ($16). The food didnt have much of a strong flavor that would stand out, but everyone on the table liked the maduros which did get polished from my plate. The beans were ok and the rice felt quite dry.A few things that we were not that impressed about included a tiny mouse that ran past our table grossed us out, not so attentive servers/waiters, and just having a single restroom.Overall, we did have a good time with no major issues!

2022-04-03Such a quaint place. The yuca fries was amazing, and maduros is amazing. The drinks was good. Definitely a place to check out and surely a place ill be back to. My friend said the chicken was really goood too.. in the heart of harlem..
