The motel at first impression is very well-kept, with the driveway and parking area spacious and freshly topped. The room was exceptionally clean in the bathroom had new, modern sink, toilet and shower. The owner/operator, Sonny Was very hospitable and met us at the office door with an ice cold bottle of water. The beds were big and comfortable, and the room was more like a hotel than a motel.
Room was spotless. Two very comfortable beds. Good sized fridge, microwave. All toiletries you need and hair dryer. Gentleman who checked is in was very friendly and welcoming. He also gave us a great suggestion for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!!!
Absolutely amazing stay here at Sara Glen and I cant say enough about the friendliness of the owners. Its a small family owned hotel with only 16 rooms or so but you can see they really put their heart and soul in their work in making sure the guests are happy here.Ive stayed 3 nights here over the long July 4th long weekend and out of the 3 different hotels Ive stayed over the trip this is by far my favorite. Sure the rate might not be the cheapest especially during the busy travel weekend but you really do get what you paid for here vs those other chain branded hotels. I really enjoyed the room here everything was working properly and clean.The location is great too~ not too far from Lake George/Saratoga Springs and plenty of businesses nearby for dining needs. I would highly recommend to anyone to stay here on their visit to the region. They really deserve the high reviews they been getting everywhere!

The owner was so accommodating. The room was very clean.the grounds were well kept with beautiful flowers, a basketball hoop and ball, chairs and table outside your door and a picnic table for your use. We will be back next year.
Great retro motel. If you want to show the kids or grandkids how it was to travel and where you could stay over night in the 50s early 60s stay here! Very clean and the owner, a very welcoming and friendly man has done a great job refurbishing it. Where else can you backup the car right at your room door?

Ive stayed in hundreds of Motels and I have to put the Sara Glen in my top 3. The rooms are clean, big and come with a fridge and microwave. The beds are comfortable and the towels are actual towels, not the rags you usually get from other places. The staff here are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and they go above and beyond to accommodate to the needs of their guests to the best of their ability. The price is very reasonable for what you get. If youre in the area and need a place to stay, I would highly recommend staying here.

I recently stayed here for a week. Its owned and operated by a gentleman named Sonny. He treats you like family and keeps the place immaculate!!! Every time you run into Sonny, he has an inviting smile and tells you about the area and treats you like he has known you forever. We have stayed at other Motels in the area and there is NO comparison to the Sara Glen Motel. The location is perfect its close to Saratoga , Lake George and Glens falls.
The reviews were so positive that I was actually a bit suspicious.That said, it was terrific. Its very inexpensive, theres no restaurant or free breakfast, and the rooms are a bit on the small side, but it was meticulously clean and the owner was very friendly. For the price, its hard to beat.Were very likely to stay there again as a stopping off point going to and from concerts at SPAC (instead of driving home and getting in around 2-3 am).
I was stuck in a snow storm and had the pleasure of staying at the Sara Glenn motel. It was clean, comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. The owner went out of his way to make my stay perfect. This is a great place to stay.

This was such a pleasant experience . It brought back memories of trips I made with my family long ago. The motel is old fashion in that it only has 12 rooms (6 divided into two buildings) all on one level with your parking space right in front of your door. The rooms are very comfy, and have all the amenities you need- microwave, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, flat panel led to and wifi. The is even an electric fire place that does a great job heating the room. The beds were extremely comfortable and the motel is nice and quiet for a good nights sleep. We will be back.
We stayed here for just one night to make visiting family easier. It was perfect. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was exactly what we needed. We were able to get an Uber very quickly both to and from our family party.
Visiting the Saratoga/Lake George area last weekend. Price was right and location was excellent. Owner (Sonny) was very welcoming and accommodated our late check in. Clean spacious room and quiet, considering being right on Route 9. I had a small accident in the room and ruined a bed sheet. I felt terrible, but Sonny took care of it with no questions asked. When we visit the area again, we will definitely be staying here. Thank you for your hospitality and treating us like family!

My Mom and I came to Glen Falls for the Balloon Festival and unfortunately we didnt see too many of them go up however we did find a wonderful place to stay. Sara Glen Motel was a very pleasant surprise. The room was very clean and welcoming (electric fireplace, microwave, fridge etc). Sonny the owner was a bonus. Such a pleasant personality. Looking forward to future visits and the firepit he is going to add to the place. Hope to see you next year
Room was clean, updated and very comfortable. Owners were very pleasant and helpful when needed. Very happy with the accommodations and will stay again as we are season pass holders for great escape which is about 10 miles up the road.
Just echoing all the positive reviews given here. Friendly is an understatement in the case of Sunny and family. Rooms are spotless and the whole property well maintained. Would not think of staying anywhere else while visiting Moreau Lake State Park.

The owner was sweet, attentive, and polite. Theres been a lot of time and effort put into this motel to bring her up to speed for comfort and relaxation! room was simple, but was set up nice with an electric fireplace, eco friendly bath products and a nice tiled bathroom to boot. Clean, affordable and extremely friendly staff. Especially the gentleman who always greets us at the front desk. We got in late on are last visit here and over slept a bit, the staff was very gracious and told us to take are time checking out. We will be staying here again in the future for sure.
Really nice Motel. The paint on the wall makes you feel like youre not even in a motel. The owners are very nice and accommodating. The grounds are kept up nice and have lots of nice plants and flowers. Overall a very nice place to stay!
I dont write too many reviews but The Sara-Glen definitely deserves to be reviewed and written about.We had a power surge over the weekend which blew out the power to our house and needed a place to stay for the night. Which turned into three nights total.When we went to see if there were any available rooms, it is track season at The Saratoga Raceway, we were greeted with a smile and asked to wait a few moments while availability was checked.I looked down at myself, as I was standing in the entrance and realized that I was covered with sweat, no shoes or shirt, and must have stunk to high-heaven.Anyway, we were given a room and after explaining why we needed a room being so close to home... we literally live less than two miles away... we were even offered a discount... WOWSonny and His family were and are fantastic people and believe that their guests comfort is of the utmost importance. Sonny told me that he believes in the Three Cs... Courtesy, Comfort and most importantly Caring.The rooms are great. Three rooms, three nights... Track Season and no reservations... No complaints here. Wi-Fi is included with the room as well as a Flat-Screened TV with a bunch of channels, a Refrigerator, and a Microwave. Some of the rooms even have a Coffee Pot. The beds are extremely comfortable and the bathrooms are super clean.My sister comes to visit once in a while and the next time she comes shell be staying with Sonny and His Family.I cant say much more about The Sara-Glen Motel except that it is a Great Place To StayTHANK YOU SONNYFloyd & Linda

This is a Mom & Pop operation, looking to gouge the attendees of the Saratoga races. Made reservations in mid June. Found out a couple of days later I would not be able to stay and cancelled the reservation. Quite conveniently, they were not able to confirm cancellation of reservation (4 nights) until after the *penalty date. Out about $600. for a ripoff artist. Beware. Im being polite.

Room 7 does not have a properly functioning restroom door. Additionally, it is unnecessary that in order to use one of the sets of outlets, a switch must be flicked. Other than that, it was nice.

2022-06-12This is a simple, clean, quiet place to stay with a very friendly and helpful staff. There are no amenities (pool, restaurant, coffee shop, fitness room, etc.). Park just outside your door. The rooms are neat and clean. The furniture and decor are somewhat dated, but in good condition. The bathrooms have been updated, and the sink, toilet bowl, and bathtub appear to be new and are spotlessly clean. The room heater worked very well and kept the room very comfortable. Compared to the hundreds of motels in the region which are rundown, falling apart, and sleazy looking, the Sara Glen would deserve 5 stars (more if it were possible). Compared to a relatively new Marriott Courtyard with several amenities, etc., this might deserve 2 or 3 stars. But if you are looking for a simple, very clean place to stay in a rather rundown part of the country, this place will serve you well and you will not be disappointed.

2022-05-15Super clean, very friendly and love the little puppy welcome in the office. Affordable and amendable. Safe area and well lit. Plenty of towels and extra blankets. The bed was super soft too. Enjoy helping the little places that survived COVID shut downs. You should do the same.

2022-02-25Stayed here 2 times during the snowy winter of 2020 while driving for work. Owner was exceptional in his customer service and went above and beyond to make things very welcoming during 2 heavy snowstorms. Rooms were so well maintained, comfy, and clean! I also recommend people stay here if they like a quiet comfortable nights sleep! Very reasonably priced. Has walk-in shower great for handicapped or elderly. Other amenities include table and chairs, microwave, small fridge/freezer, a stuffed chair, and awesome heating unit.Now in the winter of 2022 Im staying here again due to a snowstorm coming tomorrow, so Id be closer to work. Sunny the owner is so hospitable. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They are great value for the price with several amenities; a 3 shelf fridge/freezer, a microwave, a coffee maker, T.V., table and 2 chairs, a stuffed chair, a fireplace heater, and a stand up shower in the bathroom that is very easy for elderly to get into. I recommend this cozy, clean, affordable, quiet, and safe motel to anyone seeking excellent value for their money and an experience theyll not get elsewhere.

2021-11-08Extremely clean. We only stayed two nights but the beds were very comfortable and the water was hot, which was really nice. The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and personable and made us feel very welcome. Added Bonus.....they had the electric fireplace already turned on in our room when we arrived and he gave us suggestions for breakfast and dinner before we even asked. He anticipated our needs which was a very nice touch. We will definitely be back

2021-12-10Returned to the area for a high school class reunion in October 2021. I was traveling alone so wanted to stay nearby and not have to spend a lot of drive-time to the events. Sonny greeted me at the office door and had a refreshing ice cold bottle of water waiting for me. He was super-friendly and very personable. We chatted some regarding my travels and he then directed me to my room, where I found the electric fireplace already on, which made for a very cozy, relaxing evening and subsequently, the entire weekend. The room was very clean, with plenty of pillows and towels. Shower had plenty of hot water, bed was extremely comfortable and I got some of the best sleep ever. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!!! Any future trips for me will definitely be booked at the SaraGlen!!!Thanks for making my trip “home” feel like I was truly at home.

2022-06-23I just needed a room for one night to pick up a sewing machine Id bought on Ebay from a seller in the area. The owner graciously agreed to accept the machine from the seller and keep it for me until my arrival. When I arrived, the machine was waiting for me in my room. Great service. I would stay there again if Im ever in the area!

2022-05-31Basic no nonsense Hotel. quiet. upgraded bathroom. no free breakfast, but its ok. McDonalds is ~ 3 miles north. conveniently located between Saratoga springs and Lake George. take the highway 87 for 15 mts to lake George; or a 30 mt leisurely drive in route 9 N.. we did tubing in Lake Luzerne, also ~20 mts drive. definitely would recommend if you are looking to stay near lake George.

2021-07-08Great stay over the July 4th weekend. Manager Sonny was very gracious and accommodating. The room was spotless. The whole place is clean and welcoming. This is a 70s era motor lodge but has been recently updated. Comfortable beds and quiet neighborhood. We left clothes behind, were immediately contacted, and they mailed them to us!! Highly recommend!
