Rare Air was an an amazing special exhibit and this establishment, set right in Saratoga Springs Park is worth the visit. We also visited during a Pontiac Cruise event there that made this trip worth the trip. The history offered and the exceptional desk clerk were 5- stars alone!! Dont miss it!
BEWARE parents...not for kids!!! Unfortunately, we did not feel welcome with children at this museum. While checking in, our 4 year old jumped into the toy car that was nearby the registration desk before we even knew it. It was signed do not touch but the placement of the antique toy car near the check in was poorly placed and the museum staff was appaled and quite rude scoffing at us and letting us know there is a sign, but alas our 4 year old does not quite read yet and it was not roped off.We were then told that this is a museum for adults and felt very uncomfortable with kids there. I do hope that they will become more inclusive to all ages in the future and would suggest not putting valuable toys not to be touched at kids level near check in while parents are checking in. Perhaps they can rope off items not to be touched so that children have a physical barrier to keep away.Bummer, we didnt even get past the registration desk to see more. Our traveling family that goes to museums all over the world really missed out on this one. Maybe when all of my kiddos grow up we can partake in this museum?
Great history on racing and beautiful cars!! Very informative workers who could answer your questions!Within this same park area you will find Mineral Spring baths at the Spa!A definite call ahead! A Golf Course! Hotel and Lunch. A water station to fill jugs and Geysers where fresh mineral water shoots out of ground. A great area to walk your pets!
I visited the auto museum in Saratoga for a children’s event. It was well done with face painting/Lego building and several stations like drawing to keep the children involved. My son like the race car simulators which were no additional charge. We spent approximately 1 and half hours viewing cars and enjoying the facilities. If you are in the area stop in to this small gem.If this review help please like
Very cool place lots of classic cars and some real vintage cars. For a small place it has a lot to offer and read I suggest going if youre in the area. On May 18th tomorrow they are having a huge car show which I hope I can check out before I have to leave and go home. The cars on display some of them are donated which is cool. And they have some cool paintings/pictures for sale. Bought an Elvis painting for my Dad which I hope he will like. So go check it out and see auto history, youll be amazed with what you find.
Awesome place to bring kids! Maybe not so much toddlers but any older than that would be perfect. My boys loved it! It was very clean, the staff was really nice and the cars were beautiful. It was a little expensive for my taste but thats probably because I prefer FREE above all else. When we went they had the Batmobile on display which was awesome, it wasnt my favorite car there but it was definitely in the top 3. I would take my boys again if they wanted to go.
As an avid car fanatic, I was excited to see there was a great Porsche collection at the museum. I unfortunately wasted an hour of my day driving to have a door be locked when I arrived because the google hours were not updated properly until I informed them via Instagram. I won’t be returning.
I have heard great things about this place, unfortunately at the time I visited, the place was closed. A friend of mine and I looked at an old car sitting in the parking lot off to the right in need of coverage. No one to care for the car as it continues to slowly decay from neglect.
THIS museum is beautiful. Its a must to go. The whole e experience is wonderful. The 15 minute movie is quite entertaining. Should not be missed. Lots to see and do. Childrens area is fun to go to and put on jockey uniform and take photos, FUN! THE gift shop is great. Cute gifts. The chocolate in green box are yummy. Great way to spend some time in Saratoga.
Love the current Porsche exhibit. Lots of thought went into how the cars were displayed. The walls are adorned with artwork from local artists. The paintings compliment the cars. On the second floor youll find more cars. Those cars are old classics and are part of year round exhibit. This museum will be appreciated by car enthusiasts. I highly recommend it.
Very cool little museum. Upstairs has some modern super cars and they’re great. The person at the front desk was informative and welcoming. I loved that they had the new Corvette C8. The also had a couple Ford super cars, and a model T. Great exhibit of women drivers also. (Women drivers of note, not just “women drive M’kay?”)
Great people working there. Really awesome collection of vintage cars from the 50s. Would definitely recommend stopping by next time you show up early to your preconcert tailgating. I believe that they are changing the theme to something else In October, I definitely will go back to see the new theme.
Good place to learn about automobiles and their manufacturing history/timeline in NY state. Also, can be visited multiple times as collections change all round the year. Friendly staff and if one is lucky there are museum volunteers who show around and provide detailed information about their car collection.
Went with a friend who was visiting. The car museum was great. The folks working there are terrific, helpful and knowledgeable about the museum and local interests. We enjoyed the cars and reading about the history of automobiles. It was a two hour visit and coupled with lunch downtown and a visit to the Military Museum locate in down Saratoga Springs a plesant way to spend a day.
I might have given Saratoga Auto Museum only 4 stars because I am not really into cars but there are so many awesome autos on display here that I think it deserves all 5 stars - especially if you into carsSpotlessly clean, staff is great. Admission is very reasonable.Highly recommended.
Cute museum inside Saratoga State Park with exhibits such as a Model T, concept cars from the 60s, and some expensive race cars that shine. Theres plenty of parking and friendly staff. On certain days of the year, kids get in free and are treated to arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, and a generally very fun time. (Check the website for those days). When its not kids day, this museum might be best suited for kids who have shown a real interest in cars.Parking is free, but the museum is not (unless its kids day, when they are free). Definitely fun for a rainy day or kids day.
$5 at the door. For its relatively small size this museum packs a lot of interesting attractions. Two floors of cars, one of which contained all cars currently up for auction. and an interactive video-game racing system. A very kind guide named Bob educated us on what we were seeing and made the experience even better.
Its very small sadly. Maybe 35 cars. Hardly worth the $8.50 ea admission imho. The first floor where most the cars sit was nearly entirely cars to be auctioned in Sept. Upstairs though had far less. I kept thinking there has to be more? No. The cars being auctioned were nice but I felt going to a classic car show wouldve given me more satisfaction personally.
I am car fanatic. We were in Fort Ticonderoga and my son found this for me.It was an old building where NY state used to bottle water back in the early 1900,s.It is very small but has some interesting displays. No one to really answer any questions you might have about a car.If in the area and like cars def stop by.
Being a car guy, its hard to say anything bad about a place that has great cars on display. And this place doesnt give me any reason to. When we were there they had a great display downstairs of working Vehicles. Tow trucks, Jeeps, taxis, and even a destroyed Jeep Cherokee from the 9/11 Tower incident. Upstairs was full of early 20th century New York State automobile manufacturers that most people have never heard of. Also, a great display of racing cars. Some famous and some unique. Very knowledgeable staff. A childrens section. And plenty of gifts to take away. We will definitely be back when the new Xzibit come in. I believe cars from the 1950s is next. Cant wait. You should be able to go through the place in an hour or two. But, for a car guy like me, you could spend the whole day going over the details of the Restorations.
Nice museum with classic cars and great accents. The outside car shows are usually free but the museum is not although its not expensive. During the special shows there are talks on the classic car that is featured. The cars that are featured in the shows are mainly local cars and owners.
I am a woman, and I loved this museum so much that I tell everyone who goes to Saratoga not to miss it. I went a few years ago, but I assume it is the same. They display many, many wonderful automobiles manufactured throughout time, all in glorious and immaculate condition. This has got to be one of the best museums of any type whatsoever.
Saratoga Auto Museum I didnt go in the last time I was there I went in there parking lot and met some friends and we went on a bike ride but Ive been in to the museum its a nice museum its got a lot of stuff for the kids that has stuff for the adults very nice cars they have Galas big dinners if you become a member they even have something unique wear if you want to you can put your name on a prick and the like a loved one that loved cars and you want to keep the memory alive and put their name on this have your name put on the brick and theyll put it down in front of the art of Museum so I would give this place this auto museum with all those amenities you can see it from normal traffic I will give it 50 stars a very nice and enjoyable place the end

2022-01-16I always love visiting the museum, but this occasion was extra special because our friend visiting from out of state really loves Porsche, and there were many beauties on display! We wandered through and admired them and eventually made our way upstairs to the permanent collection. It was a lovely experience, as always, and really great way to spend an afternoon.

2022-04-02It was better than expected. They seem to change their theme every 6 months but was definitely a good experience for someone that loves cars. I went to the Porsche RS collection showing which is only 1 of 3, this one being owned by Steven Harris. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

2022-05-20Its a quaint little museum in a historic building. Entry is $12 for an adult that I felt was a little on the high side for so few exhibition pieces but it is an automobile museum.

2021-08-09Attended the 2021 Audi Lawn Show event and had an amazing time. The staff were friendly, the facilities were clean, and the exhibits were very informative. At the time we visited, their main exhibit was classic Porsches; they had some beautiful examples. Highly recommended, it was a great day.

2021-07-18The Saratoga Auto Museum had a car show for the Tesla owners. Stpooed by to check some of the different cars and models and to speak to the owners to find out in person more about these electric automobile. Went into the museum for the first time. Museum staff was friendly upon entry. On display was a collection of Porsches from the collection of Steve Harris. Very beautiful collection of the Porsches. Many different type on display from roadsters,993 GT2. 1964 356C Coupe Peking Rally Car, and a 1958 Carerra GT Coupe. Many others. These were all on Display on the bottom floor. Upstairs was a collection of racing cars, a 1912 Model T Ford that was not restored. Was on display the way it was found. Also on display was a General Electric electric car. This was a prototype and only 2 of these were made. This was made in Schenectady NY. Richard Petty stock car on display along with a McClaren Indy Car, Lola B09/86 #16. Sprint car on display along with photos of local racing legends. All along it took a little over a hour to see the display. They also have a room were you can see a short movie on old automobiles. In this room there is also some great history about women and automobiles. Small gift shop on your way out.

2021-08-15An excellent way to spend an hour or so in Saratoga. Beautiful building filled with some absolutely remarkable and stunning cars. The Rare Air Porsche exhibit was very interesting and included some truly rare and gorgeous cars. Though my favorite was a car in the main exhibit upstairs, the Karma Revero. I have a new dream car! Bob, one of the docents was so knowledgeable, kind and helpful. He answered all our questions and offered some really fun facts that we never would have learned without talking with an expert like him.
