Saratoga Hospital in other cities:
Starting in February 2022, I developed a fever and headache every day. The headache became intolerable about mid-May so I went to the Saratoga Hospital ER. I should mention that I had a mini stroke in 2014 and was afraid it was happening again. The hospital triaged me and apparently determined I wasn’t sick enough for an ER room. They put me in the hallway on a gurney across from the nurses station, without a blanket or pillow or glass of water, and nothing for meds for the pain until I stopped a nurse and asked her to help me. Other than a very nice orderly who gave me a pillow and blanket, I was COMPLETELY ignored. Since I had no one with me to advocate for me, I discharged myself when it became apparent they had no plans to do anything else for me.The fever climbed all week until it reached 104. Somehow I ended up on the floor and my husband called 911. The ambulance took me to the same ER. This time, I got a bed in an actual ER room, but again, no water, no blanket, no call button. My husband was told to go home. He was not allowed to come in because of Covid restrictions implemented THAT MORNING so again I had no health care advocate. They did a few tests, with normal results. So they discharged me. My temp was 103 with a raging headache and nausea.I was worse than ignored there. I was spoken to as if I was not even human. There was no attempt to make me comfortable. There was zero compassion.I was demoralized from the first ER visit; the second did me in. I will never go back there.
Deceptive billing practices! They illegally balance billed me when I’m on Medicaid, I called them about it and they basically said it’s what I signed up for. This hospital would of been on my credit report if I didn’t pay them though at my request my insurance company successfully advocated for me.
Very clean and well taken care of! The staff are wonderful and put you as a patient first. Their integrated healthcare system provides exceptional care throughout Saratoga County. They combine the latest technology with the personal, supportive approach that is the hallmark of Saratoga Hospital.
I have used the ER twice and found the care to be excellent, once admitted the care was subpar both nursing care and pharmacy well below current clinical practice standards- a long standing problem at this hospital. The AMC affiliation has done very little to improve care. The physicians and PA/NPs seem good. The outpatient lab has horrid customer service. Like many hospitals today, this place is run like a business and not a patient-centered healthcare facility- as I said the problem is long standing and well known.
Completely unprofessional staff. Deanna Landon is the head of Human Resources and thinks that she is above everyone. She needs an attitude change real quick. I will never step foot into the hospital again and don’t recommend anyone else to either until they hire professional people who actually know how to do their job.
I debated about leaving a review, Im not someone who usually does but its still weighing on me so I guess I will. I unfortunately hit my head early on at a wedding the other night, like fell ON my head, and immediately noticed something was wrong with my hearing in my right ear. A friend took me to this ER and I left there feeling more panicked and frustrated than when I came in. The Doctor seemed really unconcerned, almost like I was bothering him?? Seemed like a huge inconvenience I was there. It felt like I had been judged as a drunk girl or something. It had been several hours when someone came to me and said--your mom is asking for an Update, and I was like.....Im sorry should I update her?? its been hours and Ive just been laying in this hallway?? I had no clue what was going on, I was dizzy, nauseous and confused. Eventually the CT was done and it came back clean, so the doc said he was going to call it a concussion and to call the ENT recommended. He then gave no instructions on what to do for a concussion. Another Doctor I called told me not to drive, avoid screens, youll be sensitive to light, avoid coffee and alcohol...all stuff I didnt know...Didnt feel like I was even worth a second of their time there and wouldnt recommend it to anyone for an emergency.
Went for a covid test, the drive through was efficient although they chose to give our group rapid tests at random. We all arrived separately to be tested from the same exposure and 3 out of 6 of us got rapid tests and the other 3 patients were denied rapid tests. Did not make much sense. Now we are struggling to find our results as some have received theirs and others have not.
Id give it a 0 but thats not an option. Saratoga Hospital is a complete joke. Checked myself in on 10/6/21 a little before 7p due to chest pain and difficulty breathing. Sit there for 3 hours before someone comes to take my vitals no one ever did a finger stick on me. Im a type 1 diabetic. Then another hour goes by and Im going to x-ray. I just checked myself out AMA 6+ hours later. Apparently sprained ankle trumps chest pain and difficulty breathing. My chest pain only increased since arriving. A nurse was supposed to come out and talk to me about it never did. Then I couldnt even have a glass of water.
My 32 year old daughter had some pretty concerning symptoms. She had total numbness on one side of her body. She had visited several urgent care facilities and was blown off everywhere she went. I suggested she try Saratoga Hospital. She goes there and is asked all the usual questions. They seemed to dwell on her education level which seemed odd. Blood tests and a CT scan later they say theres nothing wrong. Within a week her symptoms were so severe we ended up at another hospital and Dr there said this wasnt right and ordered MRI. Turns out she has MS and a lesion has blown out her C4 C5. How does a Dr miss this? Thank goodness for Dr who looked past her age. Be warned about Saratoga hospital
Never had such an unprofessional doctor. I’m fromCalifornia and I just moved out here for school, so I was shocked. Waited for 4 hours at 1 in the morning, with a 103.5 fever. Never gave me a room. He used his phone flashlight to look down my throat, and had no idea what the hell might have been going on, I had to suggest strep for him to even think of it. Didn’t get the lab results back either, as I’m writing this a few days later. Anyways I ended up just leaving that night because I was tired of sitting and waiting and I had to lie down.
I was in Saratoga hospital for knee replacement surgery and I had the most attentive, compassionate, thoughtful people taking care of me! Every single person was upbeat and such a ray of sunshine...from the people who cleaned the room, the food services staff, PCAs, PT/OT therapists, case managers, and nurses. I felt so well cared for. Thank you to everyone at Saratoga hospital, and especially the wonderful people who work on the 3rf flr. I highly recommend this hospital for any care you or your loved ones need.
I have seen Jennifer Beller, endocrinologist, for several years. On every single occasion, she sees me promptly, has a warm and friendly manner, is professionally thorough, knowledgable , and inspires confidence. After 70 years, I’d say my experience in her office beats every other.
Awful, horrible and no respect for a patients needs. Im a cardiac patient and I have to fight for my cardiac meds. Im not even here for cardiac reasons! They are messing with my meds they know nothing about and the cardiology department pretty much refuses to see me. I will NEVER be a patient here again if I survive this stay. Nurses are overworked and under appreciated but the doctors are terrible. Absolutely the worst.
Still have all the restrictions in place forcing patient to face their medical situation alone. Do not follow current medical reconmendations for COVID. Purely done for the hospitals convenience not patient safety. Should understand how vaccines work. And should know the sick who have family involved always have better outcome.
Honestly one of the best hospitals I’ve been to. I arrived at the ER at around 8 o’clock and checked in. Waited only almost 2 hours (which wasn’t bad compared to some ER waiting rooms). I was taken into the room where they take your vitals and ask you questions. I was given my IV and placed on a gurney for a short 20 minutes and then was taken to my room. Even though my time at the hospital was about 5 hours long, it was a wonderful experience. The staff was wonderful and friendly! 10/10 would prefer this hospital over GFH!
Another horrible hospital in the North County! The nurses mock your pain. I had a nurse say your not in pain because if you are you would be crying. Then I moaned in pain only to have her walk out and do moaning noises. Like seriously? I almost died and thank God I went to Albany Med because I needed a blood transfusion and was admitted there for 5 days.
On September 28 I took my wife to Saratoga Emergency room because she was experiencing acute pain, & vomiting. She couldt sit, stand, walk without excruciating pain. I got her there at 2 A.M. She was registered and then I was sent away. This is what happened after that...she was placed in an area near the door to the ER.....for 30 minutes no one came to see if she was ok. The first person she saw was a phlebotomist who came to take blood. My wife begged the girl to have someone come out and give her something for the horrible pain. The girl said she would try....no one came. After waiting for more that an hour, finally my wife was brought into the ER and put in an exam room....again she was left there alone for about 45 minutes. A nurse finally came in took vitals and gave my wife a Covid Test and took a urine sample, gave her potassium pills (cause she said her blood work showed it was low) and a shot for pain (which did nothing!!!). She sat in an exam room alone for almost an hour and a half before Dr. Boenau, the ER doctor showed up. She tells my wife that she has a UTI !!!!! Prescribes 10 days 4Xs a day Keflex 500 MG , some anti nausea medicine and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen, and tells her she can be discharged. Another nurse comes in with more potassium pills and discharge papers. The problem is the excruciating pain that my wife was experiencing isnt typical of a UTI, nor is the rapidness of the pain...one minute she was fine the next she was vomiting and in horrible pain. One nurse did ask her if she ever had a kidney stone...she never did, but that doesnt mean this couldnt be one. Dr. Boenau, never mentioned having an ultra sound or a CT scan to rule that out. She just went with the first diagnosis...the UTI. I feel this was negligence on Dr. Boenaus part. She should have sent her for that test!!!!!! A follow up appointment to our Primary only confirmed that the onset of pain and nausea like my wife was experiencing is typical of kidney stones and the dosage of Keflex was excessive. The most my doctor would prescribe for a UTI would be 500 mg 2xs a day for 5 days!!!! I just hope there is no damage to her kidneys because of Dr. Boenaus negligence!!! I called twice to find out what was happening at 4am & 6am. I never made contact with her nurse Anna. Not sure what I would do if we needed emergency care in the future. But I know it wouldnt be to Saratoga Hospital. REALLY DISAPPOINTING !! SHAME !!
Well today is my last day here. The Nurses are the reason for the 5 ⭐ rating. All the nurses were spectacular. But a special shout-out to an amazing RN,and overall good person. Taylor Smith thank you so much. Your commitment to your patients Is a refreshing change from what Im used to. I have nothing bad to say and everyone, including your coworkers think youre something special. Again, you are appreciated. Although I didnt change my 5 ⭐ rating ,you must know that I was wrong about Taylor Smith. On my last day when the Dr, came in to discharge me,I was still in a lot of pain, and didnt feel I was ready to leave. Now Im not one for hospitals, but this time I just didnt feel right. When I asked for a representative because I felt he was wrong,he said I already signed your discharge papers and youre leaving) and proceeded to call security. I told him to leave and he started to yell at me. Told me I was making one of his nurses uncomfortable.(Taylor Smith). Well miss smith was more than happy with me when told her I was buying Roses for all the nurses on the floor and especially excited when I told her I had a special gift for her. Text messages do confirm this. The nurses on the floor were very appreciative for me showing my appreciation. Even Miss Taylor Smith sent me a very Appreciative text. Then on my last day she accused me of being a Stalker. A complete turn around in less than 24hrs. Men especially, please beware of this nurse, shell except complements, flip her hair and smile, then make you look like a freak to cover hers a**.But dropping my five ⭐ rating because a Nasty Dr and a Nurse who plays games, not right to those who did their job without drama and lies. The rest of the nurses and techs, were spectacular. I am truly sorry that I had to call out this nurse. She did get me through my first few days, and did Appreciate my gestures, but I did nothing to her to be accused of any wrong doing. Now I want an in person apology from all Who were involved in this. Or I will sue.
One star was just to get me here. My opinion is zero and a complete failure. After a 45 day stay, our 87 year old mother left in a worse condition. We are extremely disappointed, dissatisfied and quite disheartened. This hospital provided nearly no voluntary communication, and that was only in the last two weeks. Errors were made and there was too little too late done in the line of treatments. Complaints led us nowhere. And if the Covid 19 virus was human, I’d pity it. Anyone looking for details, we have them and can be contacted.
Beware. My brother-in-law went into Saratoga hospital in January 2021 with a non-threatening illness and died within a few days. He was not treated for the problem he came in with.I would NEVER trust the competency or integrity of the hospital. My brother-law was a healthy man and was treated like a number and the staff was evasive to answering our questions and missed the problem and gave him medicines that ended his life.Although it’s a ride from Greenfield, I will never return to this place and would advise all to go to Glens Falls or better yet, make the trip to Albany Medical Center. It’s worth a life.
Worse hospital ever to go to for an emergency. ER misdiagnosed my daughter. She was suffering from anxiety he treated her for heart disease/tachycardia. Gave her blood pressure meds that were not needed and could’ve severely affected her heart. There was nothing abnormal about her heart rate. It was not in the danger low or high rate. She’s a healthy young 22 year old with no healthy issues or heart issues. Scary to go to an ER to be misdiagnosed.
My dad was transported to saratoga hospital emergency room on church street due to experiencing a syncope. A physician assistance was in charge of my dad’s case. My dad described that he had diarrhea and very dark stool the day before, without any pain. They did a bunches of blood works. And told us that my dad just had hydration from diarrhea and being sweating under working environment. After giving my dad IV NaCl and an MRI for his head, my dad was discharged from saratoga hospital.Within 24 hours later, the next day around noon time, my dad had a second syncope while we were at his primary doctor office during a routine check up in Queens. We called 911 again, the EMS transported my dad to NY-PRESBYTERIAN. They found out my dad’s hemoglobin level was 6.4g/dL. It was way to low than normal range 13.5-17.5 g/dL. The doctor consented my dad that he needed blood transfusion. After two bags of blood transfusion, the next day, his hemoglobin was only increased by 0.3g/dL. Therefore, they thought it seemed like my dad was having severe internal bleeding. After more comprehensive examinations, they found a ulcer in my dad’s stomach. My dad was released from NY-P when he was under a stable condition. We followed up with primary doctor after hospitalization. Saratoga hospital declined to release my dad’s blood work when primary doctor requested it. They only gave the primary doctor the discharge paper work which only stated Dehydration without any blood work result numbers. So till right now, we didn’t know my dad was experiencing chronic internal bleeding or acute. When we called Saratoga hospital as a patients. They put us on hold, and transfer us to different lines, and automatic response… it was very annoying. We didn’t say the physician assistant misdiagnosed or anything. We as a patient and family members, just want to find out how the condition progressed. So we could prevent this happen again to my dad.My dad was very blessed that people was around him when he passed out, so he didn’t hit his head.We don’t want to make complaint here, if Saratoga hospital collaborate with patient and primary doctor better.
Absolutely awful. My mother was very sick and the guys in the ambulance treated her better than the actual staff. They are extremely unprofessional and had poor communication skills, by the end of the day she was diagnosed with something that had nothing to do with her symptoms and she didn’t even see the doctor, she was only approached by nurses and PAs.
Had surgery at Saratoga Hospital at the end of December 2020. VERY clean, EXCELLENT nurses and a wonderful place to recover and heal. From the initial intake, every person I encountered was professional and caring! Would absolutely recommend Saratoga Hospital to anyone!! Thank you to all those who work there especially Sandy in the pre-op to Aurora on the 3rd floor!! They were exceptional!
There are times Ive been to this hospital and Id give it a one, theres times when Id give it a five. It just depends on the staff you get and how busy they are. One thing I do notice and dont like is how they handle patients with mental health illness and dementia. If you have a heart issue or injury theyre very good.
Just on August 24th 2021 my fiance had to get some mental help and they discharged him within a few hours not even offering a medical taxi and he had to walk from the hospital all the way to route 50 in burnt hills. On top of the terrible midwife on the day of my delivery this hospital is the worse you can get
My grandmother had surgery here for a bone spur on her shoulder. With COVID obviously no one was allowed to accompany her in. She was VERY well taken care of, doctors, and nurses made sure she was informed, safe, and care for. As a family member it is hard to not be there when a loved one, is going to major surgery. Thank you to the GREAT doctors, nurses and everyone else who made my grandmothers surgery as pleasant and easy as it could be.
I’d leave a 0 star if possible. Don’t go to this hospital for emergency care under any circumstance. My husband went here as a trauma victim and received the most appalling care. Wounds weren’t cleaned or debrided, extremities were not checked for broken bones despite complaints of pain. Pain medication was not given despite documented pain 8/10 for a separated shoulder. Not to mention the documentation on his summary of care was completely inaccurate (full range of motion in an arm documented despite being unable to move his one arm due to injury- no additional complaints despite complaining of pain in his foot - no lesions on his skin despite having road rash on his back, elbows and knees). We’ve submitted a complaint with the patient representatives and afterwards we submitted an appeal after receiving a letter and speaking with the Patient Safety and Risk Management Coordinator who said my husband should have ASKED for his wounds to be cleaned and his injuries to be tended to. A trauma victim is supposed to ask for care that should be given .. because he is “alert and oriented”. And now we won’t get an update on our appeal despite calling and emailing the patient representatives. So good luck trying to fight for better care.
Had surgery there today and thumbs up for everyone on the staff, they were very professional, caring, punctual and I was pleased with the overall experience, the moral of the staff was great and was comforting to know that the people that were caring for me love what they do especially during these challenging times, thanks again for all the essential workers all of you were great.
So far, all of my interactions with hospital staff, doctors and nurses have been mostly excellent, except for one instance where they were understaffed and couldnt attend to my father in a timely manner. I do agree with what others have mentioned re. being put on hold. They should institute a hold service to call people back, which would make things a little easier, but otherwise, Im just grateful this hospital exists in Saratoga Springs.
If the patient cannot advocate for themselves do not put them in Saratoga Hospital. They have a wait and see attitude for elderly patients, no proactive methods. In my opinion she came out worse than when she went in. Its been 4 months since my 87 year old mother went in to Saratoga Hospital, she is still paying for the lack of care they gave her in her first weeks there. She has multiple bed sores but the one on her back is the worse thing I have ever seen and was not taken care of from the start. How the nurses and doctors at that hospital can sleep at night is beyond my comprehension.
While I respect public safety and precautions needed during the pandemic Saratoga Hospital have taken it to absurd limits. If you are going to separate paitents from caregivers then you must be willing and able to assume caregiving duties in the caregivers absence. I understand also the need for COVID testing prior to entering the facility but there is 0 communication between providers in the facility and the COVID testing area. Im told to show up on a date at any time while the tent wants an appointment. Which is it? You inserted a tube into my wifes stomach and then dumped her out front after I was unable to speak with her or any representative for 48 hours with no aftercare instructions. Then you are upset when she returns to the ER 9 hours later. You are making life awful for paitents and caregivers alike. Good job heroes👍
WORST ER EVER!! WENT IN AROUND 2AM ON 2/7/21 DUE TO LEG PAIN THAT STARTED IN MY KNEE AND MOVED TO MY UPPER LEG AND GROIN AREA. I COULD BARELY WALK. I CHECKED IN THEN WAITED IN A WHEELCHAIR FOR OVER AN HOUR EVEN THOUGH THE LOBBY WAS EMPTY. FINALLY WAS WHEELED IN TO A GUEST WAITING ROOM, NOT EVEN A ROOM. I FIRST ASKED IF THERE WAS A VENDING MACHINE CLOSE BY BECAUSE I WAS SO THIRSTY. I WAS TOLD NO THERE WAS NOT. NOBODY OFFERED ME WATER AND I DID NOT ASK. I COULD ALREADY SENSE ATTITUDE AND WAS NOT EVEN GIVEN NAMES OR TITLES OF THE STAFF AND I WAS UNSURE WHO WAS GOING TO BE HELPING ME. I WAS TAKEN FOR XRAYS THEN BACK TO THE ROOM. A VERY RUDE LADY NAMED BETSY (I WAS GIVEN HER NAME LATER)TOLD ME NOTHING SHOWED UP ON THE XRAYS AND THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO. I WOULD NEED TO SEEK HELP SOME WHERE ELSE, WHICH I KNEW BUT FOR NOW I WAS IN ALOT OF PAIN AND COULD BARELY WALK.ASKED FOR PAIN MEDIATION AND WAS DENIED. ONLY MED I COULD GET WAS IBUPROFEN, WHICH I TOLD HER IT WAS NOT HELPING SO I WAS GIVIN NOTHING NOT EVEN AN ICE PACK OR HEAT.ASKED FOR AN ULTRASOUND TO CHECK FOR BLOOD CLOTS,FINALLY I WAS ABLE TO GET ONE BUT WITH ATTITUDE. I COULD HEAR THE STAFF TALKING , LAUGHING AND SPEAKING ABOUT ME AND OTHER PATIENTS. WAS ASKED TO CHANGE INTO A GOWN SO MY KNEE COULD AT LEAST BE LOOKED AT. HAD TO CHANGE IN FRONT OF A BIG OPEN WINDOW.FINALLY WAS TAKEN FOR AN ULTRASOUND ON A GURNY THEN BROUGHT BACK TO THE ROOM. I WAITED THERE FOR A FEW HOURS COLD HALF NAKED FULL OF GEL FROM ULTRASOUND UNCOMFORTABLE AND UNABLE TO GET MY JACKET PANTS AND SOCKS BECAUSE I COULDNT MOVE MY LEFT LEG. FINALLY A NURSE CAME IN TO TAKE MY BP AND HELPED ME GET MY PANTS ON. BY THIS TIME IT WAS 7AM. I COULD HEAR BETSY TALKING TO ANOTHER STAFF MEMBER REFERRING TO ME AS THE GIRL IN THE ROOM WHATEVER HER NAME IS. I WENT OUT TO ASK WHAT THE HOLD UP WAS AND I WAS TOLD THEY WERE WAITING FOR ULTRASOUND RESULTS, GO BACK IN MY ROOM AND WAIT LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE. ASKED IF I COULD HAVE THE GURNEY TAKEN OUT OF THE ROOM SO I COULD SIT IN A CHAIR. WAS TOLD SOMEBODY WOULD BE IN TO DO IT. 30 MIN PASSED AND NOTHING SO I JUST LEFT. NO RESULTS OR DISCHARGE PAPERS ..TOLD THE RECEPTIONIST AT THE FRONT DOOR I WAS LEAVING BECAUSE STAFF WAS SO RUDE. USED THE BATHROOM BECAUSE I HAD TO PEE SO BAD. WHEN I CAME OUT THE RECEPTIONIST TOLD ME I WAS FREE TO GO..YA I BET. LIMPED TO MY CAR IN TEARS HAVING TO TAKE BREAKS IN BETWEEN. WHEN OFFICES OPEN MONDAY AM I WILL CALL MY PRIMARY CARE DR, INSURANCE COMPANY, AND I HAVE ALREADY LEFT A MESSAGE FOR PATIENT COMPLAINTS. ILL DROP DEAD ON THE STREET INSTEAD OF EVER GOING TO THAT ER AGAIN!!.
I had my left knee totally replaced and was admitted to the new Orthopedic Center on May 17, 2017. I would like to say thank you to the entire staff. I was treated like a royal princess. Never has anyone been so nice to me. The private, hotel-like rooms are something to be very proud of.Anytime I ran my bell for assistance, someone was there in a second! I just can’t say enough for the wonderful care I received. Instead of being treated like a “number”, I was treated wonderfully by a very caring, friendly staff. I cannot single out one person because all of you are the greatest people in the whole world. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the great care. I will recommend your Orthopedic Center to all of my friends!!
The MHU was pleasing and caring. I got better while there. Nurses are mostly awesome, social worker Sarah was caring & helpful, the techs did a great job with care & teaching.I did wait an unusually long time in the ER. The best i can figure, there were 5 others in the ER but i was there almost 5 hour before i was taken to the unit. Tip of the hat. Nice facility.
In response of Clark’s statement, and the defense of Saratoga Hospital that evening I went to the emergency room - the hospital was busy. The staff were busy, and I spoke to my husband briefly. Explained the best I could with Benadryl running through my veins due to being allergic to a test I was to have done. When the bloodwork came in I explained to him the findings, and that I would call when I knew more after I got the scan. Being impatient he kept calling the hospital over and over. Saratoga Hospital staff were awesome. They were all very professional, and for the excellent doctor who was very thorough in treating me. Now I know what direction I am to go with my health. Only praise should given for their service. I recommend Saratoga Hospital!!
Just walking in the hospitals front door and you are greeted by helpful and considerate staff who are engaged and happy to help. The medical treatment I and my family members has received has been top notch. Especially the emergency surgery on our daughter. Surgeon knew going in there was more involved than a standard case of appendicitis and he was right. All good now, but they helped us so much in dealing with serious complications. And the food is better than most hospitals too.
If I could give no stars I would. I have never written a review for anything. I am truly disappointed in this hospital. I understand theres policies when it comes to people 18 and older and being suicidal. Though you let a suicidal homicidal 18 year old leave twice in two days. Hes cut his wrist, hes taken pills, and hes expressed how he wants to slaughter them (them being my mom and her fiance) and you let him leave. You let him out into the world without any help. I understand you cant help someone who doesnt want it but this is a situation that should have been forced to help him. You are whats wrong with our country. The mental health system is gone. With all of the shootings going on, you didnt help someone who expressed they wanted to harm people. You couldve helped someone. You didnt. You choose to listen to someone who isnt well mentally instead of listening to what is said by other and what needs to be done. I am ashamed of Saratoga Hospital. If he commits suicide or hurts anyone, the blame will be on you because you did nothing to help a person who needed, even when they couldnt see it themselves. You call yourself doctors. I call you trash.
After my weight loss surgery the staff was very caring and helpful . D3 has the best nurses and they dont rush they take their time and make sure you have everything you need and help when needed . They went above and beyond their jobs during my stay. thanks D3 staff your the best . Hospital was very clean , everything went on time if not early . I highly suggest if you want a clean hospital that will take great care of you go to Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga ny . I have been in other hospitals and I have to say this is my new hospital for all my medical care .
My husband was in ICU and I can only compliment the entire staff for their caring and compassionate care. Dr. Rashid is a wonderful doctor and his demeanor was what a doctor should be. He provided professional care, consideration and compassion to our family in a very sad situation. The nurses, Torie, Kristian, and Heather were always there to answer questions, provide whatever we needed and most important give our loved one the dignity and care he deserved.
My wife went to the ER with breathing problems, due to COVID-19 I was not allowed entry into the ER with her. After a few hours I called to attempt to speak to her, I called the main number was then transferred into the ER where a Stephanie answered the phone. I could hear the attitude as she answered the phone, I explained my wife was in the ER and I wanted to talk to her. She connected us and we spoke for a few minutes. An hour later my wife sent a text mentioning a possible heart attack.I immediately called the main number and was transferred into the ER where Stephanie answered, she asked “who is this” I identified myself and was hung up on. This happened two more times before another staff member answered and transferred me immediately into my wife’s room. All is well with my wife but I am very unhappy about the attitude from Stephanie and will contact the Administration concerning the lack of people skills of Stephanie. My wife had a phone in the room but I could not directly call the phone which forced me to go thru two or three people to contact my wife. Not good Saratoga Hospital!
Kudos to Saratoga hospital ER. Excellent staff, extremely great patient flow. in treated and out within an hr. Waited over two hours at Glens Falls ER yesterday with an expected wait of another 2-3 hour wait for a procedure referred by a doctor. The staff at Saratoga ER are very nice very proficient and deserve all the support of everyone.Thank you
Over the years, my mom has been a patient here several times and has received excellent care each time. She was made to feel comfortable and the staff were diligent in relieving her anxiety about being away from home. Even during her final days, the entire staff did all they could do to ensure her comfort and tend to the needs of her family members. This hospital is truly a caring facility and our entire family appreciates all that was done for us and our mom during this trying time.
I was told that I was being admitted for pancreatitis. My parents left thinking I was in good hands. At 1:09AM, almost 3 hours after they left, I was finally taken to my room.My room was next to a fire exit behind a plastic white curtain. I am pretty sure that is a big hospital violation. I was also given a bell to call the nurses, the bell is something you use at the front desk of a hotel. The pain medication wore off and I didnt get that until almost a half hour later and I was in horrible pain. The nurses rarely checked on me, only when I needed my vitals checked. I was showed how to unplug my IV and how to plug it back in after I went to the bathroom. My choice was another patients room or the public bathroom at the other end of the hallway.I was also told that if a room opened up they would move me, I overheard that 3 rooms opened up, I was never moved and they filled those rooms. I did not sleep at all due to the fact that the hall lights stay on 24/7, and it gave me a migraine. Throughout the night I was never checked on, no vitals or anything.I was transferred to this hospital because this is there my doctors were and i had a procedure the day before, NEVER AGAIN will i agree to be transferred to this place!
I went in for an MRI recently and although I was taken in on time and I was out of there in a reasonable amount of time I was put off by the male attendant in charge of the machine. He tried to humor me by telling me to wipe my snot on the his co-workers side of the machine. Just gross. I guess that is the reason he isnt performing at Comedy Works but I didnt need to hear that. Is it too much to expect professionalism when going to hospital? Good grief.
My daughter was in a car accident and she specifically stated to nurses and the doctor on multiple occasions that her car airbag deployed. When requesting for the medical record for insurance purposes, the report indicated that my daughter stated the airbag did NOT deploy. They were unwilling to correct the document when requested, even after showing photographic evidence that the airbag was deployed. Now we are in the process of completing paperwork to amend the document which will take at least 30 days for them to consider adjusting the paperwork. Unbelievable how tedious and time consuming this is to correct THEIR mistake!
My husband had an inpatient experience at Saratoga Hospital, admitted through the ED in late April, discharged in early May. He presented with an acute and very complicated set of symptoms. As a former ED and Trauma nurse, I cannot over emphasize the prompt, efficiently conducted triage, followed by admission, with an equally prompt review and treatment protocol established by hospital staff and appropriate medical specialists.Throughout our stay, every employee from every department, met or exceeded every expected standard of care. The hospital always appeared well staffed and scrupulously clean, bright and appealing under difficult circumstances. At a later date, my husband had an out patient test done by an Interventional Radiologist, which again, actually exceeded our expectations in terms of efficiency, step by step explanation, and attention to the comfort of the patient.
Spent 2 weeks as an inpatient, far superior care and treatment than the hospitals in Albany. Especially St. Peter’s , a total dump, filth on floors , nurses that ignore you . Had major cancer surgery there , bladder , prostate, lymph nodes. Ask for pain meds , they tell you “be right back “ only to return anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. Saratoga hospital staff treat you with care , compassion and top notch treatment. Before you complain about Saratoga, visit the other hospitals in Albany and Troy, you will have a different opinion.
Most of the doctors at Saratoga Hospital are incompetent. They lack any sort of bedside manner and plain mean. They also lack any skills in diagnosing. A friend of mine went to the ER with a great deal of pain in the back of her head. She was told it was an acute headache and was discharged home. A day later her primary looked over the CT and it was an anurysm. Kinda hard to miss that one, but they did.
I came to the hospital at @12:45 p.m. Saturday for a lab draw for a procedure first thing on Monday. After seeing nobody in registration, I returned to the front desk near the entrance of the hospital to ask the woman always sitting behind it if there was anybody in any registration booth to register me. She said theyre out to lunch and Id have to wait until they returned which wouldnt be too long. The extremely rude, older gray haired woman seemed to take an immediate strong dislike to me asking ANY question, started yelling at me that I appeared to be a man in a hurry and made the statement that I shouldnt even be here on a Saturday and should make it my business to come on another day of the week! DISREGARDING THE FACT THAT THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME SEXUAL DISCRIMINATION GOING ON HERE, I pointed out that the procedure requires me to have a blood draw no more than the second day preceding the procedure meaning Saturday. This seemed to infuriate the woman even more that a patient knew details that contradicted her assertion, and she belittled me in a very demeaning voice that I need to take a seat in the waiting room until somebody arrived to register me. I said I have done this procedure over 25 times per year and there are very frequently administrative errors surrounding it and it would be nice if, for once, things went smoothly. She cursed at me. It really wouldnt matter, except when I come in for a draw Im at my physically weakest point in weeks and just hoping, as a patient, to get treated with some dignity and respect which is something you shouldnt have to fight for while youre at your weakest, and that Im afraid to say often does not happen at this hospital which only adds to the stress of the actual disease the hospital is supposed to be treating. In any case I require constant, regular treatment which obviously this woman didnt know or perhaps she wouldnt have let her worst instincts hurl at me for daring to ask a question. By the way she immediately changed her tune as soon as a nurse came by with a woman in a wheelchair. I was told by an employee at the hospital that the woman behind the desk is probably a non-paid volunteer for the hospital which I suppose is the reason she must not get training and feels enabled to let loose on (male) patients like me whenever she pleases.
Over all we had great care, everyone was really nice. However, It was FREEZING!! and not like hospital cold. Uncomfortable cold. some of the poor nurses had to put jackets on. My major complaint was my husband had surgery. On his nose and throat. he had to be kept in the ICU so they had constant monitoring of his breathing while he slept. Nope no sleep. it was SO loud in there Nurses yelling back an forth to one another. the women in the curtain next to him just screamed and moaned and carried on. I understand people are in pain. But if you are going to have surgery patients recovering in the ICU you should have more then just a curtain. and if you have an unruly patient put them in the isolation rooms. the place was obviously over crowed. I wasnt impressed with the whole recovery process they had set up.
My sister has been a patient at Saratoga Hospital for 12 days now. From the ER, to the A1 unit and onto ICU she has received nothing but the best care. While there are speed bumps in everyones recovery, all of the staff make you feel that your loved is safe, secure and cared for when you cant be there with them 24/7. Please consider Saratoga Hospital for all your health care needs.
Unbelievably incompetent physicians. They pay NO ATTENTION whatsoever to what a patient tells them. Will NOT give normal prescribed medication, because of course THEY know better than your own doctor.,,yeah, Dr. Waters, Im talking to you!Saratoga hospital is a good place for the dead...not so much for the living! Avoid at ALL costs.
I wet to Wilton Medical (Saratoga Hospital Urgent Care). Waited forever to be seen although the place seemed like a ghost town. An X ray was ordered and I waited 45 minutes until I complained. They told me they forgot I was there. This place is very inept. My Dr. ordered blood test for other issues so I went to Urgent care. A week later he called to tell me they didnt screen for any of the tests he ordered. Now I have to go back. Did they bill my insurance company again for their mistake? Who knows. The only person working there who knows how to do their job is the person that comes in to collect your copay! All about money at this facility!
I have a brother there and family scared about his diagnosis. Who ever is the receptionist that answers your incoming calls totally has no compassion! She was so rude! You need to either screen better or give her more training on how to deal with calls coming in with distraught family members. I hope when I call back to check on my brothers status I will not have to go through her! I will definitely get the word out!
I have been to this ER on multiple occasions. For the most part my experiences were not terrible. This time I went in for cheat pain. I was given an EKG immediately. Followed by blood being drawn and then an x ray. 3 and a half hours later I still have yet to have my vitals taken or even speak to a doctor. I was also left in a hallway for this entire time and watched multiple patients who had not even been in the waiting room when I arrived come in and be given rooms and then immediately see a doctor. When I asked when I was likely to see a doctor the nurses were incredibly rude and dismissive. When I asked if I could be given a room they told me there were none when I was standing directly infront of an empty room. I left. I will be going to Wilton medical arts tomorrow instead. Saratoga ER is a nightmare.
I do believe that this hospital has saved many lives. In the case of my late mother-in-law, they failed on what should have been important precautions. She was diagnosed with two broken ribs and a lacerated spleen on a Saturday, and released the following Wednesday. Although she returned to an assisted living facility, at the age of 88 she was not ready for the discharge. We say this because she fell the very next day, and suffered a lethal internal hemorrhage from the damaged spleen. Saratoga Hospital, you do not always get it right.
My husband suffered a heart attack recently and the care was wonderful. The nurses and doctors we had were so attentive to our needs. Dr. Grella put the stent in and he was so compassionate and spent a lot of time explaining the procedure and taking any questions we had. It was a great experience under a very stressful time.
The ER staff make it pretty clear they don’t actually care about their patients. The PA we met with in the ER was rude and unprofessional. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. If you’re going to work in the medical field at least try to actually take your patients issues seriously.
My God, the automated answering system is broken and only loops. Push “1” to speak with someone regarding a patient in the hospital and the system kicks you back to the original menu. Push 0 and you’re own eternal hold and hold nobody ever picks up.Crazy this hospital is still in business. Embarrassingly incompetent.
My 88 year old grandfather was brought to the ER and was admitted to the hospital. There were not beds in the hospital, so he stayed in the ER for almost 48 hours. He had no privacy and was in very serious condition when his wife and sons came to check on him the next day. They had left him in the ER the night before to bring my grandmother home. They were told that he would be in a room that night. The next day he was not put in a room and another day passed before he was actually put in a room. This incident was not the first time that something similar had happened to him.
After I was kicked in the head at my job, I was sent to Saratoga Hospital to be checked out. As is required by my employer a post injury drug test was preformed. There was a very long wait in the lab department, and I watched the lab techs do a lots of running around, and listened to their gossip. That was not the worst of it. When I was finally waited on the lab tech took me to the bathroom door handed me an open container and asked me to supply her with a urine sample. Having had to wait so long to void I was eager to provide one. I took the now filled cup out to the tech and she took it in her ungloved hand and asked me to go back out and wait.... I walked right out the door and contacted my employer. Never have I seen such gross negligence. The urine I provided was contaminated the second her naked hand touched the container. Not to mention I loss sight of the open container. These types of test are necessary in my workplace, and a positive drug test would be the end of my career and license. How dare these people be so careless with the lives/livelihood of other human beings.
I went to the ER because I was visiting Saratoga and didnt have a primary care doctor. It turned out I had flu symptoms and a sinus infection. They gave me a doctors note for 2 missed days of work. I ended up staying home a 3rd day so I called the ER to see if I could get another doctors note. They completely denied me and said that I have to see another doctor to get another note. I understand thats normally the procedure when dealing with doctors notes for work but Ive asked for extended doctors notes in the past and have never been denied by any doctor! All I needed was another day of rest! This hospital is ridiculous in so many ways. When the nurses were talking in front of me, one of them says... I dont even know the difference between a cold and the flu to be honest. What the hell? The lady at the front desk was rude too! I blew my nose and asked for a garbage and she said... I dont have a garbage up here then she pointed to the garbage down the hall and said or you can hold on to it until you get in there. The nice guy next to her said here you go and pulled out the small garbage under their desk. I wasnt that shocked though, almost everyone at this hospital is rude. Oh and the entire visit took FORVER. The doctor saw me for about 2 minutes and gave me a prescription but I was there for over 3 hours.Once again another disappointing visit from the Saratoga Hospital! I will now go spend a fortune on the hospital here in NYC just to get a doctors note so I dont get fired from my job. They really dont care about patients here. Ive visited this hospital multiple times and it never seems like they care and no one is nice either.
I was a patient on D2, night RN Sommers and staff very professional, day shift needs training on bedside manners.I will be a patient of a doctor who uses this hospital,I will go to Albany,Schenectady or even Glens Falls. Also I find it strange Saratoga Hospital never follows up with a questionnaire about their services only a contribution letter
Well ,I arrived in an ambulance when they put me in the bed ,the lady asked for my ID I was in bad condition the Ems guy told her that my husband will be in the waiting room with my id and health insurance. (She never went to find him)And she said to the other lady , well we are not going to do anything without id, just in case. Are you serious! I just prayed in my mind to not said anything disrespectful ...she left the room she left me alone i stand up by myself went to the bathroom she saw me and didnt care ,when my husband came she changed completley. How you call that? But Dr. Ferrando Ross was the best 5 stars and the lady from radiology ..5 stars. But the wait in the begining was long i just waited patiently and I got a very profesional Dr. Who took me very serious..Thank you It was worth it.
Terrible experience I have never been treated with such disrespect. My boyfriend took me in to their ER at 2 am because I was in excruciating pain from a severe sinus infection. The physician and practitioner were both extremely abrasive, unprofessional and also put several very obvious errors on my patient information Discharge Paperwork. Terrible bedside manner. I would strongly advise against going to this hospital.
I’ve been to this hospital twice now to go to the ER and both times have had horrible experiences. The staff are incredibly rude and treat you as if you’re health doesn’t matter or isn’t time sensitive. On both occasions I went in with medical emergencies (a heart condition that was flaring up and a mental health emergency) and both times I was put in a room and left there for 4 hours with no indication as to when I would be seen by a doctor, treated, or be able to leave. When I finally was evaluated, I was then told I was fine and sent on my way-what was the point of sitting there 4 hours then?? Both times I’ve gone there have been less than 3 other patients ahead of me, and yet I’ve had to wait as though there were 50. Either this hospital is incredibly understaffed, poorly run, or a combination of the two. You’re better off going anywhere else.
My experiences here vary from excellent to ok. My experience presently the most awesome caring attentive staff in the ER and the 3rd floor.Thank you to my night RN Josh and my Pca Chole for your wonderful light hearted caring personality. You guys are wonderful. Cant remember the day/ afternoon staff they were all great.
This hospital has kept people apart and refused patients support by not allowing support into the room. This hospital has employees that are hostile and unkind. The workers seem uninterested in their patients wellbeing. This is the last hospital I would recommend for those whom I care about.
This hospital is the worst. You go there ACUTE and ordered by one of your doctors and they tell you NEVER come back again EVER unless your dieing !! Ever !. They treat you like your homeless and dont care. Every time i have to go there and im ACUTE this is outrageous. I went there once w a RUPTURED APPENDIX and they told me I WAS FULL OF IT AND LEFT ME SITTING IN A ROOM BY MYSELF IN DEADLY PAIN. TOLD ME TO STOP DOING DRUGS WHICH I DONG DO AT ALL. I ALMOST DIED AFTER 8 HRS IN ER AND EMERGENCY SURGERY FINALLY WHEN THEY REALIZED THEY WHOOPS ..I WAS REALLY SERIOUSLY ACUTE ! WHAT A JOKE. #!!!! OH THERES MORE THAN THIS VISIT...
I literally sat outside for 30 mins in the rain and snow and NO one would help me, i could see my moms room from the entrance and that still didn’t seem to phase them, they take way to long to do things too, my mom was in the er for 3 hours until a doctor showed up, and it didn’t seem that the place was too busy either
Where do I start?! This facility is nothing more then a Bandaid station! My wife was admitted with a bad kidney infection and after that was treated, she then complained for days about a different pain, and every time she mentioned it, most of the staff just looked at her like they were thinking to themselves, what a whimp and said it was just gas pains, even after an ultrasound showed no signs of gas. Come to find out, after a Catscan was ordered, she had developed a Gallbladder issue and after a 2 day debate, should we, or shouldnt we, they then removed her GB.During her stay, she was just about given the wrong meds, actually woke up while they were going to wake her and give her these wrong meds🤬🔫Then there is the meal issues, yes plural, she received wrong meals the whole 11 days. Put on a low fat diet, given a low fat menu, and then told, as her food arrived, that she cant eat that kind of food.Sooo much more that went on, in fact got discharged at 11 AM, and while waiting for wheelchair ride to doors, her lunch came at 12 noon...guess what....not ordered!!Im not sorry to say....Get us out of here!!!!
Do not ever go to there in a psychiatric emergency or let any of your loved ones be admitted here to the inpatient mental health unit - involuntary or otherwise! They use sneaky tactics to get you to sign your life over to them and then dont follow the law! You will not get good care here!
Very poor customer service...very little communications between her staff and other doctors...Doc read to me to me verbatim from a book...had little or no idea what she was talking about...and could not even pronounce the name of my illness...even though quite common...my suggestion is to RUN for your life Would not recommend at all...Keep a close look at all your records. Thanks.
Worst hospital ever!!!!! Take forever with patients severely in need. I personally was in a major accident and was in the one room for almost 2 hours in a neck brace in pain crying asking for help and finally almost 4 hours later I got rolled into a room. After a major motor vehicle accident? This place is a joke also when it comes to delivering children. Almost lost my best friend during birth because they almost killed her and her baby!
First off I am a nurse. A nurse who is compasionate and became a nurse for the patients not for quanity and the dollar the hospital makes pushing patients out. That being said my mom had surgery which required being admitted. First off no one knew where to park for me to go to her floor. 2nd while she was in post op no updates except from doc. Finally find out what is going on and eventually she goes to a room. Her first nurse was incompetent and should loose her license. She had no idea re meds also made her wait for pain meds which put her into a pain crisis. Next while playing catch up still meds were delayed. She was not gentle at all and did not follow specific ortho precautions my mom had post surgery. She finally gets pain under control and bam More problems. Pain and this time waited 25 mins for pain meds. And we have another pain crisis. Awesome not! Then she is trying to give a medication the physcian said less then an hr prior to not take for a few weeks... when we questioned it we were told she was too busy to call the doc and would just document my mom refused. What the heck... I already planned on staying with her as she had complications last stay here and this wont happen again. I will be following up and maybe a call yo NYS dept of health....
I want to start this by saying EVERY SINGLE nurse I came in contact with was AWESOME! They were all super helpful and super sweet. Very knowledgeable and kind nurses! I went to the ER with a giant abscess on my chest. I never saw an actual doctor, only a PA. This blonde PA completely dismissed me and sent me home with some antibiotics. Not only was she rude but obviously ignorant. One day later I went to my primary for a follow up. My primary took one look at my chest and told me I needed to be admitted. Long story short, I had to have surgery on the abscess. The doctors, if you ever see them, are pretty cool. I saw Doctor Offord and Doctor Bell. They were both VERY nice, knowledgeable, caring and worth the wait. Listen, get better people in the ER! Every patient needs to see an actual doctor at least once. The PAs are nice (Well, Kelly was super nice and really cool but the young blonde one is just a total tool. I wouldn’t trust her to give me a bandage) but if someone is in need enough to visit an emergency room, let them see a doctor. I will NEVER go back to this hospital. I feel bad that the nurses have to work in a place like that. Also, after I was admitted, I told them the medications I had to take daily and guess what?! They flat out REFUSED to give me my antidepressant and my sleep medication. When you tell them you have a headache you get ONE single regular strength Tylenol. Itching? One single Benadryl. Hope you like MULTIPLE people trying MULTIPLE times to put in a simple IV! Hope you enjoy multiple people trying to find a SINGLE vein to draw blood! And I really hope you enjoy medicine being injected into your skin instead of your vein because nobody can do their job! The second floor nurses were so wonderful! They were helpful, caring, kind and they made me feel like I was important. This hospital needs to get that ER in order because it ABSOLUTELY SUCKS.
Well....came to Malta Med Ergent care. Its not busy. Drs and nurses joking about the rain weve had. Ive been sitting in this room listening at drs and nurses joking around! Ive been in this room now for a half hour and Nobody has stopped in!! THIS PLACE SUCKS FOR ERGENT CARE!!Well...Not any better at the main branch! Sat in the emergency room for ovr an hour. The nurse brought me back to a room and said they would b rite with me. I slept for 2 hours and Nobody came in! So I left! ITS NOT AN EMERGENCY ROOM IF U HAVE TO WAIT MORE THAN 2 HOURS TO BE SEEN!!
WORST ER EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!I do need to give props to the nurses & aids, they were great, but unfortunately it was overshadowed 10 fold.Im new to the area, I have a chronic condition which I know a good deal about but there are some secondary life threatening conditions that Im not as well versed on.Ive been ill recently, I contacted my old DR she worked with me for 5 years, knows me very well & has seen me through some of these life threatening conditions. I told her what was going on & she said you need to go to the ER, tell them about conditions xyz, give your history &/or have them call me.I go to the ER, first off I requested a female provider from the very beginning. Im there waiting & this guy comes in I later find out hes the attending. I let him know that I had requested a female & that it was nothing to do with him. Unfortunately, he was clearly offended by this & huffed out of the room. Now let me also say that this is the first time in as long as I can remember where Ive been in an ER & not put on a heart monitor right away, but this was only one way they seriously failed. So in comes the token female, shes an NP, thats cool, no problem there, but she literally starts grilling me about the history of my condition, asking very specific question about events that occurred more than 20 years ago & despite my telling her I couldnt provide specifics... she had no problem, taking my guesses as fact & decided to use this info to base her clinical judgments! Not only was she confrontational but she had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA about my condition, it was so bad I had to google it & provide her the info! I gave her the contact info for my old MD, she spoke with her, My MD said she explained the condition & the seriousness of it & suggested that I should be admitted to the hospital.Well, thats where it went to crapsville, this woman felt that her 20 minute knowledge of a life threatening condition outweighed the specialist who knows my history & has worked with me for 5 years! Whats worse is that My old MD & I basically had to walk her through what she should be considering as I clearly fit the criteria for the condition. All the signs were there. So anyway, she decided that she would not be admitting me, she made statements which trivialized the seriousness of my condition (because she didnt understand what she was talking about). Im like are you serious, like you act like I thought it would be a fun weekend to hang out in the hospital! I was so pissed.I requested to speak with the attending, yes... remember Mr. huffer who was offended that I requested a female, he came in & immediately said oh now you want my help... Biting my tongue, I explained my concerns & he essentially repeated what the NP said. Basically theres nothing wrong with me despite having the labs & treatment guidelines which contradicted this.My efforts to explain were met with more narcissistic bluster & minimizing of the seriousness of my concerns. I finally gave up & asked for a copy of my labs only to find out that THEY NEVER RAN THE KEY TEST WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN A SOLID INDICATOR of the condition! When I realized this I told them & Mr. Pleasant attending had the nerve to tell me he would run it now! Im like but wait you just told me you understand the condition, you evaluated it & have ruled it out... But you never ran the KEY test & now that Ive called you on it you want to walk it back?No thank you, I had my fill of the extremely poor quality of care & lack of knowledge I decided I would take myself to another hospital which BTW DID ADMIT ME THAT SAME NIGHT! You can bet Ill be filing complaints about this experience every where possible. I wouldnt recommend this place to a kid with a cold!
Short version of a long story. On vacation, needed treatment for hives. Misdiagnosed. Given RX for medication not available at any local pharmacy. Paid my $40 urgent care fee. Later received a bill for $60. BCBS says Saratoga filled as emergency room visit not urgent care visit so I owe another $60. Saratoga says they filed correctly but BCBS always does this and I need to appeal the claim to them. Im caught in the middle. If this is an ongoing problem with insurance claims, why is the patient asked to fix it! Told the billing person about the misdiagnosis and she said shed file a quality claim. Comes back and says ok now you only owe $20. Completely arbitrary. My advice: go somewhere else. or at least ask detailed questions about how they bill the insurer before you get treatment. Treatment was terrible, billing processes just as bad, though the billing representative was very responsive. Only good parts were the intake staff and nurses.
The Saratoga Hospital was great, During my give birth, I was in hospital from 2/1/2018 until 2/5/2018 and did C section and my room was number 148.I met 1 Nurse 1 night, I guess my Third night, she is work during at night shift. she is young and very rude to me, I ask to nursery my baby because I was in a pain and I need to sleep. She said to me like this ( you need to get up and take care your baby ) how can she tell me like that to me?? She is nurse, she need to help me, i even can’t get up my self, she is just looking at me, why she didn’t help me??? She left with angry face and take my baby out from my room.I don’t know Her name, because she is not my nurse in my board. Maybe she just helper. But I remember her face. if I’m not in a pain I will never ask the nurse to take care my baby. As the nurse, she need to have passion and caring to all patients. How can Saratoga hospital hirer people like this. Very Rude and not nice to the costumer. Without the costumer she doesn’t have a job as a nurse. Anyway My doctor Elliot Birnbaum did great job. I met a lot of nurse . The Nurse Joan was very carring, she did excellent job, I love her. Caroline, Jenny, Ruth, they are did a good job too. I met 2 shana, there are ok. Carol was not good , Laura also she s forget my pain medicine. She need to give me before she’s going home. This is was my experience during stay in saratoga hospital. The food was great. The kitchen people was so nice. She is always nice to me when she is delivery my meal.
Outstanding staff. Was there with my 3 your old Granddaughter It did take 3 hours to be seen. Grandchildren cut her eyebrow opened so bad needed stichies. We told the staff that she was ready to see Dr Mcstuffin friends, they all went along with it. They helped her feel so happy and not scared. It was a scary thing. Thanks to all the Drs and nurses all the staff that helped a 3 year old feel salf and happy with all the Dr Mcstuffin friends. We can never Thank you enough, Tracy, Rosemary and little Kora
Saratoga Maternity - Reception forgot to send me to admitting on my way in to be checked, and nobody was at admitting when I came in to deliver, so during transition people were trying to get me to sign and fill paperwork. There was conflict between midwife and hospital staff. It seemed like the nurses didnt respect the midwife and kept giving me conflicting advice. During the first 24 PP I wasnt able to get any sleep because of paperwork, instructional videos and they kept insisting I woke up my daughter to nurse her, even though we had established a good latch and were latching regularly. By that night I was lucid dreaming and kept getting in trouble with the nurses for falling asleep nursing. The next day I was criticized for nursing too often. I would not recommend this hospital if you would like to have a natural birth. If you do want to have a natural birth here the midwives at Saratoga Midwifery are very helpful. I was very happy with their service.
Worst experience ever!!! We just got home from a horrible day of surgery for my husband. Everything was a disaster from the very start. First, they screwed up the time and told us to arrive 2 hours earlier than we were scheduled. Second, the surgeon was running so far behind that my husband ended up waiting 5.5 hours in the waiting room even before he was taken to a room for pre-op. Third, there was a huge confusion with his information being entered in their new system so the dr couldnt find any of his records. Fourth, apparently the anesthesiologist misjudged the medications and my husband was struggling and violently coughing during the surgery so they had administer an emergency change of med midway through the surgery (youd think theyd prevent that kind of thing from happening by now) and FINALLY, the doctor FORGOT to call in the post-op painkiller scripts to the pharmacy. We get to pharmacy and nothing had been called in. Since its now after hours and the surgeon has gone home, the nurse has to wait to reach an on call dr who can only prescribe a small amount of painkillers because he didnt feel like going back to the hospital to submit something electronically. Now we have to wait until tomorrow, call the hospital again and request a new script (which btw is a huge pain and requires getting transferred 3-4 times to finally reach the right department). Not to mention our insurance deductible starts over tomorrow, so now we will have to pay full price for that script. NEVER AGAIN will we go to Saratoga Hospital even to save our lives!!! Couldnt be more disorganized and unprofessional. The only good thing was the nurse, who was very sweet and understanding.
HORRIFIC!!! FRAUDULENT NON-CARE. EMS took me to ER thinking I was having a heart atrack. When i arrived at S.H.E.R., NO DOCTOR WAS AVAILABLE IN THE ENTIRE ER TO TREAT ME! I was billed for Level 5 emergency (heart attack room), yet I met a TECH as he introduced himself to me, as my attending care representative! So this pseudo doctor was my attending physician, for the ER visit, as he explained that there were NO DOCTORS AVAILABLE in that part of the HOSPITAL!!! IMAGINE MY SURPRISE! EMS THINKS IM HAVING A HEART ATTACK AND THERE ARE NO DOCTORS IN THE ER TO TREAT ME???!!! But, a Tech will be my doctor for the visit? I thought he was joking , but he wasnt joking! He ordered x-rays. After having x-rays taken (actually, the 2 sweetest employees who cared for me), there was no other care for hours, as I laid in a ball, shaking, sweating profusely, vomiting thick white foam! I was just left alone! A few hours later, a rude employee raised her voice and barked at me, telling me that I wasnt insured for the Visit! I explained that I did have insurance, but she couldnt be bothered with the truth. The PSEUDO DOCTOR TECH, told me that I had to leave, directly after being accused of not having insurance! So, I was NEVER ASKED A PAIN SCALE, NO IV GIVEN (as I was highly dehydrated and asked severaltimes for one), NO MEDS GIVEN (profusely vomiting, amongst other serious issues) NO COMMUNICATION ON MY CONDITION, I DO HAVE INSURANCE, BUT IM TOLD THAT I HAVE TO LEAVE, NOW!?!?!? This was a horrific bad dream, but I was awake!!! After kicking me out, the tech realized that he had not diagnosed me, something they need to do for billing purposes. He made me get out of my fetal position, lay flat on the table, as he raised his fist high above his head, with index finger extended, and quickly poked me hard into my solar plexus. I screamed and cried, and he said, Yep, just as I thought! YOU HAVE CHESTWALL PAIN! Then he told me, You NEED to leave, NOW! Thats KINDA against the law Saratoga Hospital! Because the TECH MISDIAGNOSED me, its taken many more months and alot more money to actually get the correct diagnosiss. FRAUDULENT ENTREES in records get passed to other doctors who assume those entrees are truthful! Because the TECH MISDIAGNOSED ME, and LIED ON MY MEDICAL REPORT, its taken REAL DOCTORS much more time and money to give me real diagnosiss! The False diagnosis interfeared with my wellbeing over many months now.Reviewing my falsified medical records has been INTERESTING at best! There are MULTIPLE FRAUDULENT ENTREES IN MY RECORDS!!! So, if YOUR actual emergency doesnt kill you, perhaps the cocky, rude, uneducated, understaffed, doctorless, uncaring and fraudulent, Level 5 skeleton crew at Saratoga Hospital ER, will treat you or your family member just like they treated me! Lucky you!!! Would you trust your grandma with these quacks??? When confronted with the situation of overcharging, Jackie in billing, has told me that Saratoga Hospital Operations has reviewed all charges. They are KEEPING ALL THE FRAUDULENT CHARGES ON THE BILL! Jackies great at calling continuously over MANY MONTHS! I eventually told her Im NOT APPLYING FOR N.Y. MEDICAID, AS I REFUSE TO LET N.Y. TAXPAYERS PAY FOR SARATOGA HOSPITALS FRAUDULENT BILLING PRACTICES!!! She called me again, asking what I intend to do about my portion of the bill. I REFUSE TO PAY FOR THE MOCKERY YOU HAVE IMPOSED UPON ME, AS ACTUAL CARE! My insurance DID pay YOUR overpriced bill. Leave me alone Jackie in billing!!! Shelly, head of Opetations, you lied to me, telling me that if i ever had a problem, to call you and you would take care of it! You did not return the call! My actual diagnosises are far worse than your misdiagnosis given to me by the tech who was playing doctor the day EMS brought me into your ER. The extra months of hell youve imposed on me, Saratoga Hospital, has been grueling, both in the ER and being inpatient!!! Inpatient, too, you say? Yes. Well just save that horrific inpatient story for another yelp review!
Drs and nurses in ICU saved my 89 yr old mother-in-law. She had fractured her ribs from a fall. Her kidneys shut down, she was dehydrated and malnourished. There was talk of dialysis and DNR. After 6 weeks she has made a full recovery. Thank you to the 3rd floor nurses and nurses and Drs in ICU.
Excellent nursing staff and some great surgens. I hate to say bad things on a place thats there to help you but Definatly not on the ball with infections giving them and knowledge treating them!! I am not impressed with the judgement of some staff members. Make sure you are clean shaved and have all your teeth. Also if your on a pain medication there focus turns to why that is, and away from the problem you are there for.
WHEN MY GRANDDAUGHTER WAS BORN 2008, THE DELIVERING MOM (MY DAUGHTER) KNOCKED HER SHEETS ON THE FLOOR. THE ATTNG NURSE PICKED THE SHEETS OFF THE FLOOR, & RETURNED THEM TO MY DAUGHTERS BED, DURING WHAT SHOULDVE BEEN A STERILE DELIVERY. THEY DO HAVE A GREAT NURSERY PROGRAM HOWEVER. 2) IVE BEEN GIVEN THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION SEVERAL TIMES IN EMERGENCY RM. 3) THE BILLING DEPT IS EITHER A BUNCH OF CROOKS OR TOTALLY INEPT. I WAS CHARGED $300. BECAUSE I HADNT DELIVERED MY HUSBANDS INSURANCE CARD FROM HIS JOB. I CALLED & GAVE THEM THE INSURANCE #, TWICE. I WAS TOLD I WOULD RECEIVE ANOTHER CORRECTED BILL, REFLECTING THAT I ONLY HAD TO PAY MY COPAY, $50. THE NEXT WK, I RECEIVED A BILL FOR $800. ..STATING THAT THE TOTAL BILL WAS $1600. & MY PORTION OF THE BILL WAS HALF. WHAT!! 4) I WENT TO EMERGENCY ONE EVE W/ A SEVERE TOOTHACHE. THE ATTENDING PHYSICIAN (WHOM I FOUND OUT CAME FROM THE NYC AREA) TREATED ME LIKE I WAS A CRACK HEAD WHEN I ASKED FOR A PRESCRIPTION FOR PAIN MEDS. THIS DR/SHE CAME INTO MY ROOM W/ A PIECE OF GAUZE, W/ SOME OINTMENT ON IT, TOLD ME TO APPLY IT TO THE PAIN AREA & GO HOME. I HAD TO DEMAND A SCRIPT FOR PAIN MEDS (WHICH I RARELY USE)... & TO TOP IT OFF, I GOT A BILL FOR $300, NOT EVEN RECEIVING A GLASS OF WATER! I GUESS GAUZE IS EXPENSIVE THESE DAYS. IM NOT PAYING EITHER THE $300 OR THE $800. FINALLY, WHEN I HAD A BLODDY ACCIDENT ON MY JOB RECENTLY, I FINALLY GOT SOME GOOD SERVICE & A GREAT PA GAVE ME MY STITCHES. WHEN I ASKED FOR A BANDAGE TO COVER THEM, (I HAD TO ASK), SOME YOUNG MALE NURSE CAME IN MY ROOM, RUSHING AROUND, TRYING TO BE MY FRIEND, TALKING ALL COLLOQUIALISTICALLY TO ME & WHAT NOT, TOOK A PAIR OF SCISSORS, DIDNT WASH HANDS THE FIRST, BEGAN CUTTING GAUZE W/ SCISSORS THAT WERE SITTING ON THE TABLE, COULDNT CUT THE GAUZE AFTER SAWING & SAWING AWAY, WENT TO THE SUPPLY CHEST, PUNCHED IN HIS SECURITY CODE(FINGERS CONTAMINATED FURTHER), TOOK OUT A COUPLE OF PIECES OF GAUZE, LAID THEM ON THE SINK AREA, & ACTUALLY STARTED COMING TOWARD MY NEWLY STITCHED FOREHEAD W/ THAT CONTAMINATED GAUZE! WAS HE KIDDING??!! I DIDNT SAY ANYTHING @ FIRST, CAUSE I REALLY WANTED TO SEE IF HE WOULD ACTUALLY TOUCH MY HEAD W/ THOSE DIRTY HANDS & GAUZE. I STOPPED HIM. I SAID YOURE NOT PUTTING THAT GAUZE ON MY HEAD ARE YOU? HE SAID, HUH? I REPEATED. I FURTHER STATED, THE GAUZE IS DIRTY & SO ARE YOUR HANDS. HE SAID, OH, I SEE, YEAH, OH I DONT BLAME YOU, OH YEAH, OH SURE, OH DEFINITELY, I UNDERSTAND... THATS WHEN HE PUT ON SOME SURGICAL GLOVES. GOD HELP US ALL! NOSOCOMIAL INFECTIONS ARE HOSPITAL CAUSED. THEY OUTRANK ALL OTHERS. OH BY THE WAY, IM DISPUTING THESE BILLS-LEGALLY!
Terrible experience here extremely sick with a Bacterial infection throughout my body some form that is extremely serious and this hospital does not seem to know anything about Bacterial Infections that attack all of your organ so after emailing them and calling them I continuously get worse and go there on Saturday. I check in and they were very nice I am extremely sick so they get me a wheel chair and mask, I go to my room and waited about an hour then a male nurse rips back my curtain as several men were behind him who saw me in my bra sitting on the bed in shock, he never ever stated male nurse AND KNEW A FEMALE WAS IN THE ROOM. He then proceed to be extremely rude to me. (I read the comments of other women and see they have had similar problems possible with the same male nurse) Then he proceeds to yell at me, what are you here for who told you that, finally I kindly ask him what type of meds or drugs he was on, and leave my room now. He walk out and yelled to all his male friends standing around, I just got fired. Wow I refuse to be abused in this manner and humiliated and denied the proper care I am paying for, I never gotting the help I truly needed BECAUSE OF THIS CRAZY MALE NURSE. It is a sad day when you are treated with such disrespect when you are so sick. Visited Emergency Room sat April 30, approx 3:30p
I made a appointment. I waited 30 minutes to be brought to a room then another 30 minutes to be told that they could not do a physical because they did not have the time to do it. All that after I did not eat anthing for 9 hours because you need to fast before they can do your blood work FOR a physical. This is the 2nd time their staff has messed something like this up and I cant believe they treat patients that way.
Every time I visit one of the affiliated urgent care facilities (Malta Medical, Saratoga Medical etc), I always receive a refund check because I am overcharged. The amount of the refund is the difference between my office visit co-pay and the hospital visit co-pay. The facilities always charge as if they are a hospital or emergency room, not true urgent care service billing.
These people dont even deserve a star. First the EMT service forced my friend on a stretcher saying that he needed there services or they would get authorities involved to assist them in there services. Then, brought him to the hospital completely coherent to sit there and wait to be picked up by someone. Not to mention they did not do anything to him besides sit in a chair and wait for friends to pick him up. This was all believed to be a scam to bill him over $1000 for nothing. These people at this hospital are not interested in your health but the money in your wallet. When I call them to discuss the situation conveniently no one answers the phone, its been that way for two weeks and I call within there hours several times sometimes a day. I wish the worst for every employee of that building for letting it happen.
Midwife was horrible, said my gf was on drugs for birth, piss was clean btw,, they were rude and wrong about everything, my girlfriend had a baby an we were sent to Albany, Albany med 100 percent on the ball, Saratoga hospital cant figure out how to roll a ball down hill, such a horrible place.

2022-06-17Just had surgery on 06/15 , probably the best experience Ive had with the hospital. My triage nurse was very sweet and on point with directions. Then once brought up to my room Amber(RN)/Victoria were super helpful the moment I came up and when I left. Also my overnight nurses Justine, Mary the charge nurse, and Andrew were all very helpful and very sweet especially Justine she heard me out when no one else was, very patient and extra helpful with everything I needed. Thank you for such a good experience.

2022-06-26Some big fat nurse was being completely rude down in the cafeteria.Every time we go down when our family member is hospitalized the staff making sandwiches and serving food are the nicest people we encounter.I wish I could have gotten Jumbo the Nurse Elephant name so I could report her to the HR department! We are keeping our eye out for her. Next time we see her I’m getting her name and I will make sure she receives disciplinary action. There’s no reason for her to be attacking employees that are doing what the director of the department has instructed them to do.If she wants change she needs to email or confront the department director. She is just a loud mouth coward who has enough blubber on her mid section to feed her for a month.Once I find out her name I will edit this review and insert her name. She needs a little humility !!

2022-05-16My 6 year old fell and bit her tongue to the point where she needed stitches. Everyone at the ER was absolutely amazing with her and made the whole experience way easier than I expected. Special thanks to the nurses (Jocelyn) and our surgeon Blair who are just excellent with kids!

2022-05-21This place is a total joke I wouldnt recommend anybody going here they mistreat the elderly my grandmother was seen for a ischemic attack or for those that dont know medical terminology a mini stroke and the nurse that she had the nurse practitioner was completely rude and disrespectful to her my grandmother had never felt so abused by medical staff before and the nurse practitioner quite literally yelled at my grandmother whos a 77 year-old woman, they also forcefully sedated my sons mother because she wanted to go home with the person that she felt safest with and I was told to leave under no circumstance whatsoever I wasnt even given a reason as to why I had to. So again I would refrain from going here and would go anywhere else at least until they get better staff members that actually care about their patients and dont look at them like a paycheck or treat them as such

2022-06-22Finance billed incorrect insurance for procedure, was sending notices to incorrect address and now this is in collections.Incredibly hard to work with and the woman on the phone was quite literally the least helpful person I have every interacted with.

2022-05-06My wife was transferred to this hospital from Wilton medical arts for chest pain. The folks at both the medical arts and hospital were both very kind and very professional. Every employee that I interacted with was kind and professional. The nurses were on their game in what I thought was a very busy ER. I just wanted to say thanks to all these people in this field. God bless you all for what you do. How you all stay so calm and never lose sight of the task at hand. Youre all very good at what you do and thank you all again for what you do.

2022-04-12Everyone in the ER was professional and courteous, from the person who checked me in to all the nurses, technicians and the doctor. It took a while -- about 4.5 hours -- but I got all the appropriate scans and paperwork I needed for a sports injury sustained that night, and they quickly followed up with the specialist I went to see the next day so he had access to my imaging, which saved a lot of time.

2022-01-28I had the best experience at Saratoga Hospital. From the moment I walked, the receptionist, Malorie was very polite and attentive. The nursing staff and Dr. Ross were very pleasant, gentle and provided great customer service. I dont like to be in hospitals but because of their hospitality, I felt comfortable and was very grateful to have encountered such quality service. The room was very clean as well and I am blessed to have been met with such wonderful people. Thank you Saratoga Hospital team.

2022-01-25I’m currently pregnant for my first baby and I’ve been here only a few times so far for a couple things. I’m also having a C-section here in a month. The nurses and doctors have all been very nice and helpful to me each time. They make sure I have everything I need and feel comfortable.
