I wont pretend to understand the need for a surf store in NYC (am I missing something?) or the rationale for combining fashion sales with great coffee, BUT I will say that Surf Saturday (Perry St) both does a mean cup of coffee and great lattes, and that the collections are always worth browsing for casual, simple elegant basics. Add in that the staff are all wonderful, its worth popping in even if your first reaction is puzzlement.
I’m a big fan of Saturdays. When the shop first opened I was skeptical of a brand claiming NYC surf culture, but they’ve continued to evolve into a true fashion brand with a very clean, refined aesthetic. The Soho shop has evolved too, and now offers good coffee, clothes, boards, and a great backyard that’s become a small haven on Crosby. I will sometimes just go for coffee, and other times I’ll order clothes online and swing by to pick them up.
I have been a Saturdays fan for a long time now. The store got its start in the LES and my friend Griffin used to brew coffee and manage their online store. Clothing is affordable and very trendy while the atmosphere is laid back. Check it out if you are in the area. Ugh I love the West Village!
Had a yard sale where it became very apparent that the employees know very little about their product. To be fair they are no longer going to carry patagonia wetsuits, but each time I asked a question I got a different answer, which seemed ludicrous as I would about to drop money on surf gear/boards which they clearly needed. I wouldnt go back though the employees were nice, they didnt know much about the surf product, and that was what I was there for, as well as what they were advertising. The clothes were cute but very expensive, so I ended up just buying a few of the patagonia wertsuit pieces as the sale was unlike Ive ever seen before on Patagonia Merch, but I wouldnt go back.
Overpriced and the concept is now so tired beyond belief. Surf culture in the City. Please. Spare me. Im so sick of the faux surfer b.s. This is not Fiji or Hawaii or even Southern California. Its a tee shirt shop that serves coffee disguised as a surf shop not near any beach or waves and no one here is knowledgeable about surfing. Youd never see Kelly Slater step foot in this stupid concept store.
I came into the store first thing in the morning to get a full outfit for a wedding I had the following weekend. The outfit was out of stock but one of the amazing employees (Jack) told me he would help me out if I ordered it online and make sure it got to me before the wedding. He went out of his way to be super kind and helpful and it was an amazing experience. Highly recommend this brand and this store location specifically. The staff is stellar 10/10

2022-08-13Alright clothes but the staff is simply rude. 2 people at the till, both playing with their phones - one guy actively avoided eye contact so could carry on whatever he was doing and the woman when asked to help (check availability of sizes) acted as if she was made to run across the city to do it once (with an eye roll) she put her phone down.I really wanted to get something there but the staff made me want to leave immediately.

2022-07-01Rude and unfriendly staff. They don’t make you feel welcomed. As we went in, looked around, and when we left, no one bothered greeting us or anything. Literally no one, not even 1 staff, when there were like 4 staff at that time. Why even work in retail if you’re going to be selective to who you greet/help out. Never coming back

2021-10-23Love the vibe, the coffee shop, the backyard, and the clothes. Unfortunately, the staff here has made my experience terrible. So rude and not friendly either. I was checking out at the counter the guy gave me a bad attitude look. I said hello he didn’t respond. I hope this can be addressed. I would love to visit store again but I am leaning towards purchasing stuff online instead of making it a bad day. Thank you!

2021-05-22Service and style is 10/10. After searching for a shoe did I really wanted they didn’t seem to have it in stock. They got me connected with one of the employees named Tyler, he went out of his way to make sure I got the shoe. He reserve me a pair and then even shipped it across the country to me. I’ve always loved their clothing but I’m also super impressed with Saturdays and their service.

2021-12-25If you actually surf, don’t buy the Leonard board shorts… they are terrible. Velcro doesn’t work, string can’t stay tied, ride up causes chafe. Bad in every way… maybe good for photos.
