Sawatdee is easily one of my most favorite restraunts of all time! Every single thing on their menu is wonderful in its own way and it all tastes uniquely different from each other. I have had 99% of the entire menu over the last few years and enjoy it all! The service is always good. The food is always fresh. This is a true gem of the Plattsburgh, NY area indeed. Enjoy!
The service was very friendly, but the food, sadly, was very disappointing. Id eaten numerous times at their Bridge St. location and was ALWAYS very happy and impressed with my meal. I ordered a nice app, 2 wanton soups. Previously, the wantons were firm and tasty. This time, they were soggy and almost...like oysters going down. Slimy. Like the wanton itself had been soaking in the soup for days before. The container also opened up and leaked all over the bag and there was hardly any soup left to consume. The veggie stir fry was tasty, however, I added meat to it, 4 small shrimp for an additional $3. NOT worth it at all. The container was small, and the noodles on the side...yeah, barely half-filled the small container they gave me. I spent over $30 on this order, which ended up being a total waste of money. I had heard from other friends that this location was not as good as the Bridge St. Sadly, they are correct. I wont be back.
The service was good but the food was not good. We were happy with the dim sum, it was delicious and the tiger rolls were pretty good too but the pad thai was really not good. The chicken we had in it was dry and overcooked and so were the noodles, they were mushy and all stuck together. We wont be going back.
I grew up in spitting distance of NYC and this is by far the best thai food Ive ever had. Try the chicken wonton soup, the broth has so much flavor to it. My two favorites are the Kao Soi Curry and the Pad Kee Mao. I honestly will eat anything on this menu they do an incredible job all around.
Delicious food, great prices, huge portions. The staff was super friendly and helpful as well. Its a small place, but they accommodated our group of 9. One person in our party is a vegan, and the waiter made sure to check for any diet restrictions and prevented her from accidentally having a dish that uses fish sauce. I would definitely go back again!
Amazing food. Do yourself a favor and skip all the chain restaurants surrounding Sawatdee and go here instead. We sat down to eat and it was so busy with takeout orders but we were served very quickly. The ba Mee soup was delicious, like burn your mouth because you cant stop yourself good. And the rooster rolls were awesome so crispy and flaky.
Excellent Drunken Noodles with beef. Also very good Dim Sum filled with chicken and shrimp. NOT much decor but the service is good and your food comes out quickly. Portions are on the generous side based on the prices. Bottled beer is available. I believe wine and sake are served TOO.
Sawatdee is the best Thai restaurant I have ever visited. Their food is always fresh, flavorful, and they always add just the right amount of spice to their dishes. Their service is outstanding! The employees are very friendly and they go above and beyond to make sure that your order is correct and that your food is served/ready for pick-up quickly. Sawatdee is the best!
I’m not really sure what this is, but it’s certainly not Thai food. The pad kee mao / drunken noodles were basically fettuccine noodles loaded with sriracha or something similar. Spicy, but no flavor. You’ve been warned! I ended up tossing my food in the trash and got Chick Fil A instead. As a plus, the staff were friendly and there’s a clean bathroom in the back.
I ordered dinner tonight on 5/16/20. I ordered the drunen noodles & the king pao chicken w/ added shrimp option. The drunken noodles were good, although a little spicy for my liking and the Kung pao chicken, came with no chicken, 3 pieces of shrimp and the rest Vegetables. Called as I opened my order to see if they could help, and they told us the chef read it that was & to check with our Uber driver, as if he could do anything to fix the problem. Disappointed in the service, and the Kung pao chicken. Will not be ordering from here again.
The wait staff is fast and nice, they have a great selection of food for good prices. The Thai iced tea is amazing. If you have a favorite dish from their previous menu that is no longer on the updated menu they are usually more then happy to still make it for you. Only downside is the rather small location making it cramped during major rush times.
This is a Thai restaurant. Its one of y favorite foods so my friend and I decided to try it out after reading the reviews. Im from Montréal and we have great Thai restaurants here. The food was quite disappointing actually. Didnt taste like the Thai that Ive eaten. I had the Pad thai with shrimp. It was sooooo sweet and the noodles were a little under done.My friend was unimpressed with her Drunken noodle dish as well.I happened to spill my drink all over me. Although they came to clean the table and give me a cloth to wipe myself off, I was surprised that the y didnt offer to give me another drink to make my experience more enjoyable.I wouldnt go back.
Very friendly staff, great service, and the flavor of the food (had the Bankok Tom Yum) was exquisite. However, the flavor was strong and got to be overwhelming due to the large portion. I would have been happy to pay the same amount for a smaller bowl (thats how good it was). Will go back and try other menu items!
Try the rooster rolls and the Gua kai. The Gua Kai noodles are especially good in a deep Rich brown sauce thats just a touch sweet, but ridiculously savory.Delicious Thai food and a local favorite. Though they do tons of takeout, its easy to get a seat with super friendly service.
I work for the college in town and this is always our go-to restaurant for our International Student Orientation. Its nice to be able to give our students (many coming from all over Asia) a taste of back home. The portions are plentiful, the food is perfectly seasoned, and always fresh. If you love a good curry, I would absolutely recommend the Kao Soi Curry. For a delicious entree, the Black Bean Eggplant always hits the spot!
Disappointed with the kitchen/service. Our order was mixed up with another customer on the first visit. On our second visit, we waited 45 minutes for our main course, watching customers come and go, before I finally asked the waitress to have the kitchen box our dinner to go. No apologies from the manager.
Horrible food. Coming from Montreal and having authentic Thai and then going to Plattsburgh and eating at this place was a vast difference. Also I knock my drink over by accident. A good restaurant would have given a replacement free of charge.....but not them.... Very disappointing
Love this place but...Went in for lunch at about 1:55, 2pm and sit down and the first thing that’s said to us is you need to be quick because we close at 3.I’d understand if we walked in at 2:30 but with a full hour was this really necessary?I’ve always found the staff rather short tempered and always feeling like I’m asking too much to just place an order.
Those of you whove read my reviews know that I dont hand out praise willy nilly so when I tell you that Sawatdee just made my day, you know that is high praise. The Tom Yum was spot on, the chicken satay fantastic, and the Pad Thai just hit the spot. Very reasonable pricing was icing on the cake. We will return again the next time were in the area.

2022-04-27Im not an expert on Thai food but my daughter was just over there and she thought the food was very authentic. Even though Im not big on curry, the food is very good. A very nice change if you want something different. The prices are very reasonable. The staff is great.

2021-10-28Very expensive place. A bottle of beer is $5 and their supposibly authentic fried rice is nothing more than white rice with little veggies and rubber like meat. You will get better value at a mall chinese take out than this place. Overpriced plain food trying to be Thai food.

2020-10-10Very delicious meal! very filling and tasty. Server was very attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant. Dining is in a store front small dining room; not a place if you are looking for restaurant ambience. A great place for tremendous Thai and Asian cuisine. Take-out was more popular than dine-in. They do deliver.

2018-04-07If I had to rate a top Thai restaurant, this would be the place. When me and my wife go to Plattsburgh, Sawatdee is in the conversation every time of places to eat. Last time we went here I had Tom Kha and Duck with Veggies. The food is picture worthy, super filling, and very flavorful. Great staff, awesome atmosphere, but just a tad bit pricey. Not much art to look at, but all in all great place to go. Definitely worthy of a 5 star rating.
