Nice walking / bicycle (sorry no horses) trail next to an abandoned canal. There are benches spaced out along the way for resting.

This is a nice linear park with a path that used to be the mule towpath along the original 1800s Erie canal. The abandoned Erie canal is a ditch that runs parallel to the trail. We traversed this park during the NYS Parks & Trails bicycle tour of the Erie canal.

The park was well maintained and a pleasant place to stop and have a picnic with my family. There is a pavilion with a number of tables and its part of the Erie Canal walkway so there is a nice walkway along the old canal.

Great little park, nice trail my boy and I enjoyed a run/bike ride on, and looped back in time to hear the music in the park - 20s, 30s era, big band - he was all about it.

How is this place a park. If you are looking for a place to walk a straight path in the woods and youre in luck, thats all they have. There is no play ground.

Several years back, I was harassed by a town police officer here, so its difficult to be comfortable there. Once you settle your soul, theres enough peace for reading.
