I was a self taught drummer for many years and needed to take my skills to the next level. A friend suggested this school and David as a teacher. David was easy to work with and an amazing teacher. We not only worked on rock techniques but dabbled in some jazz as well. I felt so accomplished after studying with David. I highly recommend this school for any musical instrument including voice!

David is an incredible teacher and person. Ive been going to David for drum lessons having no previous musical experience for over 8 years now, and I can safely say that he has engrained musical knowledge and an immense passion for drumming that I will carry on with me for the rest of my life. I cant reccommend this school enough, as the wisdom he passes on to his students after dedicating his life to music holds so much value.Not only is David an excellent educator, but he is also a very open, easy-to-talk-to guy, who cares deeply about people and their success.As I go away to college, Ill miss David greatly since hes had such a huge impact on my life up until this point. Dont hesitate to give him a call.

My experience is amazing! David is a great teacher! He cares about his students and puts his soul into teaching process. I’ve been taking drum lessons for more than a year now. With every lesson I become better and more confident in my drumming and my performing skills. And it’s just a pleasure to be there and learn new music and techniques. I can honestly say that deciding to start taking piano lessons with David was the best decision I ever made in my life. I studied the piano with David for 15 years and have since become a successful full-time piano teacher and composer. Last year I published a book of my piano compositions and of course it was dedicated to my beloved teacher David, to whom Ill be eternally grateful.In conclusion, I highly recommend lessons with David Kovins!

David is a phenomenal teacher. He is a no nonsense teacher who’s caring and so passionate about what he does. Myself and my daughter have both gone to him for piano. He is very into the foundations - highly recommended.

I was a 34 year old teacher -scared to follow a lifelong dream, but when I arrived at David Kovins school,his warm, encouraging, non-judgmental expertise, melted away my fears.All ages are offered this safe haven for learning. I studied voice, guitar and piano. David and the teachers are patient and kind, making lessons relaxed and fun. David has studied at NYs most prestigious schools and has published many innovatively creative books since opening the school. He has played with famous musicians pictured on the school walls. New and vintage instruments and practice books are always available. David Kovins and his talented teachers are as great with children as with older adults. We all learn how to stay focused and how to have fun with new learning. I have never seen anyone leave without a smile and some extra pride. Thank you all for enriching my life in a way that only music can do. Obviously, I highly recommend this experience, this school and the kind teachers that make it a family. So I like David, incredible drummer must say. And Im not here to bash him. Id highly recommend anyone to spend a good number of months of lessons with him, but make sure he spends time on your hand skills and sticking, I feel since I had learned previously before going to David, he just wanted to stick to beats, but I was still with another new teacher and had to stick to the other gun because David limited the lessons to just rock beats. He had planned to expand, but some points in my development ended up lacking. You should get a 45 minute or hour lesson, because half hour is to limited-maybe was the problem-his price for lessons is reasonable too. He also has some cool cymbals and kits, so you should check that out, but expect to bring cash.

My son has been going to guitar lessons, for several months and he really enjoys it. Very happy, reasonable priced, very patient and teaches very well. My son really got into it. Also, I take piano lessons here for myself. I find music to be very therapeutic. I definetly recommend this place.

There are few drummers/percussionists in the same class as Dave Kovins. Just go to youtube and youll see why hes among the best.
