Brian and his team are great. Theyve always been honest and straight with me. Ive never had them push unnecessary work on me and theyve clearly let me know what work needs to be taken care of and given me fair estimates for the work. I strongly recommend them for anyone looking to get work done on their car.
I know I am in good hands with Schoolhouse Auto!I was running late for my annual auto emissions and safety inspection this morning, I called and Brian was able to squeeze me in a few hours later the same day. That was super convenient!I am happy to see all the activity at Schoolhouse Auto the parking lot was almost full. Brian completed 4 CARCO inspections in the time it took to inspect my vehicle.Scott the mechanic spoke to me directly and gave me a heads up on a necessary future repair. Brian was able to get a price quote for that future fix, and I was on my way.I have been using schoolhouse auto for the past 2 or 3 years and would highly recommend the service, quality, and reasonable prices.I drive down from Clifton Park about 15 miles because I really appreciate these guys!How many auto repair shops have you been to where you know the guys by their first name?This place is great give them a try!
Coming from a family that has owned at least six used cars, I know the used-car dance well. Im relatively new to the area, but prices at Schoolhouse Auto are reasonable so far. I recommend you check out their Discount Car Care Club and become a member, if you plan on regular service. Brian (front desk) and Scott (mechanic) are friendly, punctual, upfront and knowledgeable when it comes to car service. Unlike big dealerships, they are not pushy, which I appreciate. The location is not on a busy or multi-lane road like many of these other car shops. The driveway is a bit steep, so just be careful with that.These are the services Ive gotten in the past 6 months:-NYS inspection-Extreme realignment (Seriously no idea what the previous owners were doing with this car. Ive had misaligned cars, but this was the worst, with the steering wheel shaking and pushing me to the side of the road. Was a bit frightening to drive.)-4 new, all-season tires-Valve stem repair (think I dented it going through a big pothole)-Tire air (winter)-A new valve cover (oil was leaking everywhere)-Two oil changes-Two tire rotationsMy cars running great now, and I plan to be a long-term customer.
Wow were to start,my truck was leaking gas all over the place so i decided to try out School House Auto to get my truck fixed since they are very close to me.I walked in and met Brian and the technician very nice people by the way. Brian told me the gas pump top had rotted through and had to be replaced. I got the work done,it was done very promptly and at a fair price.I will be using School House Auto for now on for any automotive issues.Thank you Brian and Scott for making my truck safe you guys Rock.
Scott is a great, honest, hard working, mechanic. Awesome guy all around. Your car is in good hands and things are done right. If this review was solely about Scott it would be 5. Brian one star, one to many. Hes got a chip on his shoulder and we dread dealing with him at first he was decent over years not so much. Asked about a repair with his snide reply he directly insulted my vehicle and me. Nice. I was a gentlemen and walked but when I walk goes our vehicles and word of mouth.
Went to get a tire replaced, both the mechanic and the owner were very polite and professional. The wait time was less than an hour and the owner offered wifi while I waited. The price was also very reasonable, even as compared to larger garages in the area.
Their prices are very fair and they always take great care of us. There is never any pressure to fix or change things not needed. Very upfront and honest! I will be recommending anyone who needs a mechanic to these guys!
Recently my car brakes went and I left my car unannounced at the shops garage, and left a voice message. My call was promptly returned the next morning and they went to work on my car right away. Excellent service and very fair prices, and ready to accommodate.
I very strongly recommend this auto store.When I go to the Schoolhouse auto, Scott can figure out the problem very quickly and explain the problem in a clear and simple way. Scott is very good Technician.Brian is very nice man, although He doesnt talk much. The price is fair.Every time I have good experience.I give 5 score.
Nice guys, did good work. They broke a fitting on a ten year old rear disc brake caliper and told me about it. It might not sound like a good thing however having had my vehicles serviced many places, most shops would not tell you if they did this because you would likely never see it until it was to late. They risked losing a customer by being honest and gained my trust. I will be bringing back the family fleet for regular maintenance.
As parent of a young daughter going to school out of state Schoolhouse Auto has eased my nervousness. My daughter was in need of some vehicle repairs. Schoolhouse Auto treated her with respect and professionalism. I am thankful there are still honest, trustworthy and professional people around. I can not thank them enough!!!!!!

Ive been dealing with Schoolhouse Auto for about 1 1/2 years now. Brian KIssel and his staff are professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The actual garage is small, but its fully loaded to handle just about everything from inspections to major vehicle repairs. They sell batteries, tires and yes, even an occasional vehicle or two! The Schoolhouse Auto Team goes out of their way to get your vehicle fixed quickly so your down time is minimal. They do the job right the first time and guarantee it!Oh yes....especially want to make note that if youre a Jeep owner like myself, the mechanic in charge has over 15-years experience working on Chrysler products, especially Jeeps. Knows them inside and out. Schoolhouse Auto has for sure saved me lots of $$$ as compared to a Jeep dealer with all their overhead and mark-up.
My Suzuki is three years old, and Schoolhouse Auto has taken great care of it. There reminders and emails about upcoming service and promotions are useful and helpful. They make owning and maintaining my car easy and simple.
Always excellent, the team at Schoolhouse are honest and go out of their way to help people when they can. They have been our mechanics for a number of years now and we wont go anywhere else.

It states on they’re website that they do photo inspection. Also it states no appointment necessary. As soon as I walked in, the employee tell me they don’t do photo inspection. This is ridiculous

Way too expensive, extremely overpriced the parts needed as well as labour costs. Tried to sell me parts for a car model that was way fancier and more high end than what I have. Will not be going back.
I went there today for a photo inspection for my car insurance this review is not based on their mechinal work because I never had them work on my car nor will I ever bring my car there .. this review is based a rudeness and not welcoming place I went there the guy I think his name was Brian he had glasses he was very rude and not welcoming it looked like his words were to valuable for me he couldn’t say hi or thank or bye he just mad rude I will call progressive and make a compliment I don’t think they should sent their costumer for a inspection at a place that don’t appreciate their customers I and will drop progressive as my insurance if they don’t appreciate their customers too ...SHOPS THAT DONT APPrECIATE THEIR CUSTOMERS DONT DESERVE BUSSINESS..

2022-03-19These guys went above and beyond! When my headlight was broken they saw me at the end of the day, and stayed well after close to get the right bulb. They were very polite and kind, and didnt charge extra, making sure it was something I could afford. They are absolutely the best, and clearly have hearts if gold. I will definitely be coming back!

2021-12-02Made an appointment for the next day to get my headlight bulb changed. Walked in and they asked for my keys and already knew what was good. They got me in and out in less than 30 minutes. Very quick and organized auto shop. Fair about prices and up front. Comfy lounge area to wait out your service. asked for a quote for a later brake service and got an immediate quote too. Definitely going back here for any and all repairs/maintenance. I’m new to the area and glad I found a good mechanic shop that does me right.

2022-02-24The actual service for my care was completed, however the customer service was poor. I liked going to schoolhouse auto, and it was because they did a great job and were always polite. I originally had an appointment but it had to be rescheduled because whoever was supposed to be in that day, was not coming in till late. This person later called me that same day and we rescheduled for the following week. I arrived to my appointment and immediately got into an argument due to the rescheduled appointment and the fact that whoever I spoke to on the phone said they could replace my windshield wipers if I brought them in, gave me a hard time about that as well. This person also claimed to be the owner, and I know that was not the case. I almost walked out and should have. Id be more than happy to speak to the real owner to discuss this, but I will not be going back to Schoolhouse Auto.

2022-05-25The owner will tell you that you need repairs that you do not need then give you a quote for a price that is almost double what others charge and then tell you that he’s giving you a good deal by not charging you for this or that.

2022-04-17I tried the shop based on positive reviews. My own experience was they took an appointment on my car knowing the year, make, model and the issue was the heat/AC; charged me to look at it; and recommended that I take it to someplace knowledgeable of my make and model. And it cost time and Uber to drop off and pick up.I wouldve preferred that they not take the appointment for this, but I wish the shop well and hope that most experiences are much better.
