Great experience today with a new , highly sanitized check in at Schweiger. Electronic check in just to confirm all of my established bio. Only 1 other patient was in the waiting room. Less than 5 minute wait time. I have been a patient of Dr. Flamanbaum for 27 years. I love her understated approach to my dermatology issues. She is worth meeting! I used to feel more rushed, but now things are better spaced for accurate consultations. Worth visiting in person.
Doctor & office staff in the New Hyde Park office were nice enough. Its the back office that is horribly bad. They are part of a group. Just try to get your lab results or speak to your doctor again after the visit. The have complete disregard for patients needs. Im thoroughly disgusted with this office. Their patient support is THE WORST EVER.
I had a wonderful experience at the New Hyde Park office. The office was very clean and the staff practiced sanitary measures. The staff and doctor were also very friendly and my doctor, Angela Cusumano, was very helpful and personable. Plus, I was in and out of the office within 30 mins!
First time patient, and it will be my last time. Appointment was scheduled at 3:45pm, I was not seen until 5:05pm by the Dermatologist, Dr Helen Flamenbaum. If your time is valuable, avoid this office. Front desk receptionists were helpful. However, time management needs to improve, very unfair to expect patients to wait 60+ minutes to see the doctor, who spends a brief 4 minutes with you.In addition, if you have any prescriptions, except it to be received by your pharmacy 2-3 days later. I called 2x to check if Dr Helen sent my RX’s, it was never done. Patients should not chase their physicians to send their prescriptions. Overall, for a 4 minute brief meeting with the doctor, the 60+ minute wait time combined with having to wait 2 days for my prescriptions to be called in, are factors that are inconsiderate to patients. For a well reputable office, I’m very disappointed with the lack of efficiency between the office, pharmacies and patient wait time. Time management must be improved, it’s unfair for patients to wait and constantly call to remind the Doctor to send in an RX, which should’ve been done immediately following the appointment, not 2 days later.
Ive been going to Dr. Helen Flamenbaum for about 20 years and I continued with her when she joined Schweiger. The office is very well run and the support staff is terrific. Dr .Flamenbaum has also treated my elderly mother. I would recommend this practice to anyone wanting attentive professional attention.
While some of the staff is okay, how others treat clients is in my opinion not acceptable. Over a week ago my pharmacy called them to obtain a refill for a simple cream for a basic common condition. The office did not return their call. I called and left a message and got no response. I called again and spoke to someone and they told me I needed to come in first even though they had no problem giving me a refill last time without me coming in. I told them I would have been happy to make an appointment but that it is now over a week later, I ran out of this cream, you did not respond to requests, and you did not tell me about this new policy (yes, they stated it was a new policy but of course did not notify me in any way).I understand the policy, but I do not understand not responding to me and putting a new policy ahead of patient care when you messed up and did not notify me and have this condescending attitude and acting like I am unreasonable or trying not to come in or something. I even said that I will book an appointment but since this is this is the first I was made aware of this policy, can you please send in a refill in the meanwhile. If they really cared about following up with us and were doing this for our care, why on earth did they not contact me? I mean, please. It is about money as well as covering behind just enough to get away with things but not to have to actually do much.Oh, did I mentioned they did not have an opening until May? And the doctor left me a message saying I have not been here in over 6 month with this snotty tone and a hang up. Again, as if I am some irresponsible patient, when they are the ones that did not inform me and did not get back to me and quite frankly they could have just sent the refill considering the situation. If they are so worried about people taking advantage, have people sign a policy and/or give one refill and say next time we cant unless you come in. That is what documentation, email, and patient portals are for. Made an appointment at a different location near me with friendly and understanding staff.If they have regulators breathing down their neck, were in a bind, apologized, and offered me a soon enough appt and were not a donkey on the phone I would have understood a bit. But the attitude and lack of patient care was ridiculous with the first place.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Flamenbaum’s for many years now. She is very, very serious about her patients’ well being. She is thorough, compassionate and takes the time to listen to what you have to say. If not for her I may not be here today. On two occasions she biopsied two spots that didn’t look like your typical cancerous lesions. They turned out to be melanoma. On other occasions she’s removed a number of abnormal tissues. Dr. Flamenbaum’s staff is and always been cordial and pleasant. I pretty much know them all by their first names. Funny, at times I have to stop myself from calling Dr. Flamenbaum by her first name☺.
Basically a place to go if you want them to spend 5 min with you. If you are late 10 min, they will not take you. At the end they do not see patients they see customers. I do not feel comfortable putting my heath or the health of my family in the hands of such an organization. From now on I will go to private doctors, who treat their patients as such. If you are looking for quick acne cream this is your place, if you are looking for a serious diagnosis for health concerns, spend your time elsewhere.
So as a new patient i came in expecting a little bit of a wait. However the office is empty and i filled paper work out. 20 mins later im waiting in the opetory for another 40 mins. If your time is valuable stay away from this practice. And when asking why i had a 12:45 appointment and was seen till 1:45. They double and triple booked me
Everyone you should definitely go see Natalie Sharp! I have gotten Láser Genesis, Microneedling and full body Laser hair remover with her and got amazing results with just the first session of each! She is friendly, informative and makes you feel super comfortable throughout all of your procedures. She will create a specific plan for you so you can be able to accomplish all your skin goals! I see her at the Great Neck and New Hyde Park locations. Please go check her out! You won’t regret it!

2022-07-03This office is truly professional & both doctors and staff cater to your every need. You are able to get an appointment quickly (sometimes even same day) and Sue at the front desk is amazingly friendly and accommodating. She is so reassuring & I have never left this office without a smile on my face. I love this office so much that I have recommended friends & family as well. Dr. Mangione really takes his time with you & really focuses on remedies for your situation. I would never go to any other office. Hands down - the best !

2022-07-03This place is great I was seen by Yaro PA for acne which was bad. After seeing him for a couple visits my acne has cleared so happy. Staff is great the girl who sits in front desk, Sue is amazing. She fits me in all the time when I call I highly recommend this place.

2022-01-27All Drs here have impressive bios & credentials, R personable, thorough & ans all questions & concerns. Ofcs R modern, clean & impressive. Wait times have always been minimal yet Drs spend time w/patients as needed. PAs R excellent also. Been going here for years now & have total confidence in all. Staff has always been helpful, & efficient. Very highly recommend Schweiger & I do a thorough I-net check on ALL my providers in all specialties. Started w/Dr Ron Falcon & trust & see he made a wise choice joining w/Schweiger Derm. Grp. I have seen the following: Dr Falcon MD, Dr Tutrone MD, Dr Dolitsky MD & Dr Sandler PA. All of them were excellent & to which this post applies.

2022-05-30I was recommended to go to Schweiger Dermatology Group by my daughter and I am glad I went. The staff were all very nice and professional. It was a thorough first visit. I saw a PA-C, Yaro. He listened to my concerns and is very knowledgable about my skin condition. He prescribed me an eczema ointment cream to use for 3 wks and my skin started to clear by the 3rd day from using the cream. I have a follow up visit in 2 wks. I will definitely be a returning patient!

2022-04-07I have been going to this office for the past 5 or 6 years now and it seems that every time i find a dr I like, they leave the practice.. hmmm i wonder why that is? in my experience over the past several years i get drs or pas that dont even come up close to me or touch me when examining what it is that i have gone into the office for. how can you examine my skin on my face from 6 feet away?? some of them including dr flammenbaum rushed thru my exam without even coming close to my face to see what it was that i was complaining about. in fact, she prescribed medication for a skin condition that i dont even have! talk about ridiculous. i started seeing a new dr recently who seems to be very hands on, very thorough and concerned about what im there to have addressed but when it comes to follow thru, hes absolutely lacking in that area. his assistants dont know what the heck they are talking about when they call me and have to go back and forth asking the dr what to say and do. then when they claim they will call me back right away, they dont, i have to call the office again to get any kind of answers. saying time is of the essence in getting something done, is of no use bc they dont seem to care. when the dr is only in the office 2 days a week and a problem arises i have to wait almost a week to get a response. that is awful!!! i have several skin issues that i deal with daily and to have the skin dr not make my care a priority is just unacceptable. i like the new dr and sue at the front desk is very helpful, but when i need something done like calling in a script or contacting my insurance for approval on a procedure or medication, and it doesnt get done when they promise they will, it is extremely frustrating. i honestly wish their service was better.

2022-05-17Dr. Lisa Sandler is absolutely amazing. I needed something removed and i have very bad anxiety. She kept me busy and before I could even start to panic she was done! On top of that the staff was soo nice and pleasant! Im actually looking forward to my next appointment! Thank you guys!! Sooo thankful my family recommended you to me! Best experience ever!!

2022-06-22The lady at the front desk with glasses was way too rude. Very unprofesssional. I was in the office at 12:10, wasted 5 minutes looking up my name and then said you’re 15min late. Very ridiculous.

2021-12-17The staff was very kind. They had every moving so swiftly and efficiently. The doctor was also quick and answered my questions. She immediately developed a plan of action to fight against my extreme and sudden onset of acne. Hopefully the treatment works out!

2021-04-27Dr. Flamenbaum was able to address and fix my dermatology concerns very quickly when I was having problems with other treatments. Sue, the woman who handles the front desk is absolutely fabulous. She is kind and goes above and beyond for the patients - I dont have enough good things to say about her. Overall, this is a great office with excellent service.

2021-08-26Steer clear. I made an appointment with Dr. Flamenbaum for a skin cancer screening. I made this clear when I made the appointment - which was a challenge in itself. As a teacher, I had to take a half day because she doesnt work after 3:00 - nor does she work on Fridays! She was rushed, barely looked at me - spent all of 30 seconds screening, yet I never undressed so I dont know how good of a screening that is. So rushed and dismissive that I would never go back.In addition to the lack of bedside manner, I called because I randomly got a bill in August when my appointment was in May. I called and asked the office woman to explain the charges since I paid my co-pay and the woman could not have been more rude. This office is a money pit just looking to get paid.
