This place is a joke. First time I called I talked to Fransisco, he informed me he would return my call in 15 minutes. 3 days later I called and talked to Rocco, informed him of my needs and my irritation with not being communicated with very well. He assured me thats not how they do business and that he would get back to me asap with info that I requested. Today marks 1 week with still no info. I would never do business with a company like this. Also I had received multiple voicemails wanting my business from them (Scoville) prior to actually talking to someone. Such a weird way to do business.
Went to get another used car. Franzisco and Pete are amazing. Friendly, courteous, and very understanding of ones financial woes....through it all, they were open, honest, and forthcoming. I am very happy to say I am picking up my new-to-me car within a 48 hour time span of first walking in. THANK YOU!!!
Went from leasing a car at a different dealership to buying one at Scoville Meno . So friendly , easy to work with , and not pushy at all , which I truly appreciated ! Great experience!! William was a phenomenal salesman and made the experience awesome! They gave me a great amount on my trade and worked with me until I found the perfect Wrangler. Still 5 stars! They have gone above and beyond in the service department. Because of them, we will definitely use them for all of our future car purchases! Tony and Frank in service are AWESOME! Also, we have now been introduced to Rocky who is a rare gem. We were looking for a very specific vehicle and he went above and beyond to help us. Great dealership, fair pricing no high pressure sales. Worked with me to get me into the right car at the right price and the delivery experience was best in class. I was fortunate to be able to work with my salesman Rocky and the owner Jake to get the deal done. Both of these gentleman were honest, fair and knowledgeable. Clearly this dealership puts the customer first, the entire team is great (finance, service and sales)
I bought a certified per-owned GMC from one of the pushy salesman there (Steve)(and when I say pushy I mean he wouldnt let me put my daughters car seat in my new car without telling me I would get $40 for anyone that he sold a car to that said I sent them), the car had a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and I thought it was great for my first car! Then when I went to take it off the lot the car was making a crazy loud noise, sounded like a wheel barring, there was also some scratches on the back that I didnt notice till I picked it up. Took it back to the shop, got a loaner car that smelled like someone smoked pot in it and left their food inside (I did find half eaten food inside the car) and they tried telling me I had to pay for the wheel barring! Remember I have the bumper to bumper....after asking THREE times if I really had to pay for the repair that should be under my warranty....I finally got stern and said it should be covered by my bumper to bumper warranty. Finally they told me no it was in my warranty they only saw my extended warranty and was going off that. They also said I wouldnt have to pay for the repair.This place tries to nickel and dime everyone. I have had family buy from there and they say the same thing. They also said with the purchase of our car we would get $150 gas card, waited a week and they said they would need to check it out to see if we really got that deal.......I went to the salesman personally and recieved our gas cards.Also it took me a full month to get my registration for my new car. I also got over charged for my registration so they had to send me a refund check.Just a terrible experience after terrible experience, I gave them two stars only because their financial guy really helped me get my first car, even if he hit my credit 8 times🙄.
The buying experience itself was not bad at all! We received help from several employees. They even transported the vehicle from their other location so that we could test drive it here. We got a fair price for our vehicle. We did not finance. The only thing that would make me hesitate to return was that we did need to put brakes on the vehicle very shortly after the purchase(I prefer a dealer to look things over with a fine tooth comb and catch those things).
No surprise here, but Rocky has gone above and beyond again to exceed our needs. He has always been professional, helpful, and created an overall buying experience that can’t be duplicated in the industry! You would think that buying your first Cadillac would be a dream. It was a nightmare until we started dealing with Rocky at Scoville-Meno. After days of trying to get our local dealership to locate a car for us, Rocky had the numbers run and we put a hold deposit down in hours.The buying process in person was also quick and painless. He followed up in a couple of days to make sure we were happy and everything was going well.100% worth the 6 hours round trip!!Buy with confidence here!
I was there on a Saturday right before close. I was looking at a truck and spoke with a salesman by the name of John. I advised John I was interested in this particular truck and would like to offer a deposit before the dealership closed. John said dont worry about it, we close in five minutes and were closed on Sunday so just be here Monday at 9am for the truck, thats when we open again. Needless to say I was at the dealership at 8:55am on Monday morning. I saw the truck was removed from the lot so I asked John if he sold the truck jokingly. He said, yes I took a deposit on it at 8 oclock this morning from home. I said how does a salesman take a credit card number at home? iI continue to tell him I was never given his home number or the option to call him at home for a deposit, on top of him refusing my deposit on Saturday. Shady business, Almighty Dollar over honorable business practice. I felt cheated and like Id been had. Ive never purchased a vehicle from there, and I never will. So much for trying to do business local, unfortunately the whole community loses.In response to your reply Jake, my question is this? If I was there five minutes before you closed on Saturday and offered your salesman a deposit on a specific vehicle. If i was told theres no need for the deposit because your closing and theres no chance anybody else would purchase the vehicle because your not open on Sunday, and to just come in on Monday at 9am when you reopened. Upon arriving Monday morning the second you opened to find out that in fact the same salesman that refused my deposit apparently does business from his home and accepted a deposit from someone at 8am knowing I would be at the dealership at 9am at the start of business on Monday morning. Your salesman either knew whoever this person was to accept a phone call and a deposit at home or he was desperate for his commission. So Jake how is that not shady? That my friend is very shady business, and is absolutely unprofessional and devious. Yes, days later your sales manager did call, thank you for that, however, he offered a truck which was 4 years older and was not near the same specifications. I understand that youve been in the area for many, many years and have been successful in the past but with a 3.1 rating, and the experience I went through seems to me you may be slipping a little. You may need to make some changes and possibly have your salesman honor their word.
My sister took her sons car here a few times. She was a loyal customer. Then I started asking her questions about the thousands of dollars she was being charged to fix the car. I looked at invoices, gouging!!! They were completely taking advantage of her. She didnt want to believe it. The last time she took it here she asked them to tell her how much it would cost to fix EVERYTHING so it would pass inspection. She needed to make a decision on weather it was financially sound to keep the car. On their recommendation she had it fixed. Today, only 2 months and almost an additional 2k later, she brought the car back for inspection. Guess what!? It didnt pass!!! They told her she needed to replace some kind of power steering issue, and that would cost another thousand dollars! She left! YAY! The car was all pulled apart just a few months ago to fix other lines and parts. Do NOT trust these people!
I had an amazing experience at Scoville-Meno Auto Plaza! I worked directly with Francisco and he was so accommodating and easy to work with! He had a great personality which ultimately lead to us as comfortable as can be and made the buying process with them a NO BRAINER! There was a little down time, but all the staff there made it comfortable and conversational! I ultimately bought a 2018 GMC Terrain and I am so happy! They showed me all of the ins and outs of the vehicle and showed me all of the extras that come with it, including how to use the Application on my phone! I highly recommend any staff there and would be excited to work with them again in the future!
John, was really nice at first told me to come back the next day with my 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse to havr it appraised after looking at the first car he showed me. I came back just to see how much I was working with and he wouldnt tell me how much they give me for my car becuase i told him I wasnt sure I wanted to get that car because it was the first and only car he showed me. He then told me basically that I wasnt serious about buying a car and that I was just wasting his time. Am I not allowed to lool around and figure out what i want first? I just have to buy the first car you show without knowing really any information? He then was just really rude to me for no reason told me it is his job to sell cars and thats what he has to do not waste time.
There are not enough adjectives to describe how great the people are at Scoville-Meno. Absolutely wonderful experience! There was never any pressure to make a decision and I felt completely comfortable throughout the entire process! Special mention to Pete the Finance guy: your whole demeanor removed the nerves out of making this purchase and to Rocky who has fielded questions since my purchase concerning some how tos; your knowledge and wonderful customer service are stellar! Way to keep the ball in the lane and throwing strikes; this time you bowled a 300! If youre in the market for a new or used vehicle please ask for Rocky!
After nearly 10 months of looking for a the perfect truck, Nataliya Taranko nailed it. She was patient and was more then helpful in helping me find my truck. Really hate to say I had a bad experience at the body shop department. Body shop came with high recommendations. However I will not recomend to anyone else. Truck was in for MINOR paint and body repair. Was told it would be three days, took a full week. Got it back the FIRST time, still had buffing compound all over it with big runs and lots of dirt and imperfections in repaired areas. Took it back and the said the would take care of it.Second trip, Was told two days, took four. After getting it back the second time,ares they took care of looked (better). Passenger window would not roll down, door glass was not in all the channels! Gouges in rubber window channel. Not sure how they did that. Still have areas that need buffing,(orange peel look) Also now have scratches in another area close to where the worked. Im sure I will not be able to prove it.Gave them a second chance, wont go back for a third.Being a major body repair and paint facility, I would expect much better work. Very disappointed.
The initial sales representative was new and very nice (Charles) I highly suggest no one ever buy a vehicle from this corporation at all. I was looking at a used car with high miles in which I put a down payment on to hold it. I have some mechanics in the family, and I wanted them to take a look at it before driving it off the lot. However, they were unavailable to go with me, so I called Monroe Muffler right around the corner from Scoville-Meno, who said they would be happy to give it a once over. I also noticed after being told the miles were of course highway miles there was trailer hitch, the first sales rep told me he worked within their company, the second told me the guy fixed copiers and they were just hwy miles and the 3rd told me the car was just a trade in. When I showed up to take the car to have Monroe look at it, The manager Brian Kennedy refused saying the people at Monroes may take parts off of the car or do something to lower its value. I offered to have him come along and watch. He of course couldnt possible leave the sales floor though he was ready to go for the test drive 5 min earlier. I of course declined buying the car. He also told me my deposit would be back into my acct on Monday morning. Of course Monday rolled around and my deposit still was not back into my acct. I called to see what the hold up was. Mr. Kennedy was extremely rude and said he didnt say he would give me my money back Monday. When I started to say he did he became Irate and yelled if I wanted my money back to give him my card number and without saying goodbye transferred me to his secretary. I have heard from several people since that have purchased new vehicles from them they have had serious issues as soon as they pulled off the lot. I have also spoken to several people that said they didnt honor their warranties on newer vehicle purchases. Mr. Kennedy you truly fit the stereotype of a used car salesman. I would never send my worst enemy in your direction.
Oh my! Where to begin. I dont really want to complain but every time we have our vehicle back for maintenance we have been been disappointed. I understand that mistakes can be made but does it have to be every time? We ended up having to take the compace loaner home. At least they didnt break the moon roof this time. 🤔

2022-07-14The Owego service center went above and beyond with regard to customer service and the work on my canyon. I had a complex steering issue and the team there was excellent. The Service manager Brian went above and beyond to fix the issue, get me a loaner and see the repairs to the end. Jake also intervened I was humbled by how much they helped me get my truck back on the road. I have bought two vehicles from the Scoville Meno Auto Plaza in Owego and the way they treated me at the service center only reinforces my loyalty to their group. I mean it when I say, they went well beyond their means to help me and I am extremely grateful. They are the best in the business, all class and they do the job the right way.

2022-03-22I had the pleasure of working with Jeff who I would give five stars to. What makes me give a one star is I went looking to buy a used suv and they didn’t have much of a selection on there lot so they had to have the vehicles brought from the other dealers which is fine but I was constantly reminded what it costed them to bring cars to there Owego location as that should matter to me the car buyer. Jeff personally never said anything about it but the two finance people kept saying it costed $100 a piece to bring them i finally had to say I was going to pick the car I wanted not the car they wanted me to pick. In the end I ended up going to a different car dealership that respected me

2021-08-31I went there for an oil change and to have a tie repaired. (Plugged) I told them where the nail was and after 2hrs they still hadnt found it. I went back to pickup the car and it wasnt ready. They delivered it to my house the next day. Thats where the 1 star comes from. The next afternoon I realized they didnt fix the tire. It still leaks air. Ill be replacing all 4 tires but wont be buying them there!
