I was certified open water in 2012 in Tulum. Back to New York, I didnt know any divers, you need that dive community especially as a female to go diving. Well, as I was walking on 21st street in Manhattan, I saw a dive flag above a shop, I was kind of intimidated first but I did go inside, I was welcomed by this very warm and super cool guy name Mark. He right away make me feel welcome and told me to come to Bonaire with them. He always reassures me as I never went to a dive trip with a bunch of strangers. It was one of the best experiences I had, so much fun. I then did 3 other dive trips, including a live on board. I have created a dive community for myself, got certified Advanced adventure diver as well as my partner. I adore passing by the shop and chat with the team.
Ryan was an amazing instructor, he went above and beyond to make sure we finished our open water diver training having a firm understanding of all the crucial skills and felt safe and confident. It was clear during certification that not all dive shops take your training as seriously as SCUBA Network, which is something you never want to compromise on. On top of that, they were less expensive than other shops. I would HIGHLY recommend SCUBA Network if youre looking to start your SCUBA adventure.
Great shop! Did my open water certification here and it was a wonderful experience. I primarily worked with Ryan and Fallon, and they are both warm, caring, and super knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Go to scuba network for all things dive related!! seriously. the staff is super knowledgeable and will listen to your individual wants to guide you towards what you need. unlike other shops, they’re not trying to sell to you at all costs. they really only want to sell you what you need, and are so helpful and patient in getting you there.scuba network shop is building a real family environment - they remember your name, they want to know what you’re about. even for something simple like figuring out how to start getting certified and what gear you need.then you can’t help but go on their trips :) especially if you’re new to the sport, i’d highly recommend starting with a scuba trip here. i knew absolutely nothing about scuba, and for an affordable price, i ended up certified in bonaire. ryan and his team are seriously experienced and professional. the trip was fun but most importantly, safe. the shop helps you figure out all travel and scuba details and since they get to know you, your scuba trip is highly personalized to your strengths and weaknesses so that you end up having a really awesome experience.
I always wanted to scuba dive and I finally made the time and effort to do it. The 3 days Dutch Spring course for open water certification with Ryan was an amazing experience. Ryan made sure we knew the crucial diving skills and took time to help us on our weak points. I recommend Scuba Network to everyone who wants to learn.
I was meeting up a friend who did a bunch of research on places in the city to get certified. She pretty much sold me on the spot to purchase the Groupon for the online course and pool dives. Mark was our main instructor and very knowledgeable of the mechanics and technical skills of diving! Also, his very patient demeanor and calming voice when instructing made the class enjoyable. (picture the Bob Ross of diving) After reading store reviews after signing up, I did feel that there were a few unnecessary fees (such as a $30 dive booklet). I understand that Scuba Network is a business, so Mark/Ryan are just doing their jobs in ensuring their customers/students have the safest dive experiences, which means having the proper equipment! I was pretty upfront with Ryan in saying that I only required the minimum pieces of equipment and he was very accommodating with my budget. (trust that the gear is worth it!!!) Overall, the company was pleasant to work with and completing the open water dives through their Florida shop was a breeze! They offer other dive trips throughout the year which I hope to check out as well.
As a store, this place is nice for buying any diving-related gear. They’ll work with you to get the gear you want in the price range you need.More importantly, this network of people and their services is absolutely amazing. I purchased an open diver certification package with a trip to Bonaire. Shoutout to Fallon, who answered my 987 questions (anxiety 🤷🏼♀️) in the store and made me truly believe this was achievable. Shoutout to Ryan, who led my Bonaire trip and oversaw my entire transition from nervous wreck (dive pun?) to happy diver. I cannot believe the leadership, emotional intelligence, and diving expertise he has, and it really has been a pleasure to learn this “extreme sport” from him. The trip was perfect with all details planned and communicated well. At no point did I feel unsafe, miraculously. I would readily recommend anyone, but especially beginners who would like the extra guidance and patience like me, to join a scuba network trip.Thanks guys! Really.
I dont really have any previous experience with a scuba diving store and/or classes, so I cant review by comparison. But I dont think there could be anything more, better or greater than what Ive received at Scuba Network. Once you do your research on Scuba Diving, you arent really supposed to question the necessity of owning all or majority of the gear - your life depends on it. Just like any other extreme sports, scuba diving is an expensive hobby and lifestyle. Just like everyone else, I was very disappointed that my scheduled confined water classes and open water Florida trip were cancelled due to the quarantine. During this time Scuba Network and SDI stayed in touch. Once the restrictions were eased, they were able to organize a 3-day trip to Dutch Springs where I had one of the greatest times of my life and which was a long awaited breath of fresh air (mostly thru a reg). Prior to the trip, theyve responded to the multiple anxious emails and questions Ive sent and seemed to be more than happy to provide all the details and accommodate all my needs. I cant say theres many people in this world I could trust my life with. My open water instructor Ryan is one of - simple as that. His knowledge, guidance and desire to teach us something more and in depth were very impressive and much appreciated. Thank you for that! Thanks to Kelsey, who was always there to show us for the millionth time the correct way of completing a certain skill, watch our backs in the water or add her own perspective and to both of them for sharing personal experiences with a group of people theyve met for the first or so time. Thanks to Mark, who was very helpful in selecting the proper beginner gear during my initial visit to the store. Overall, all the people Ive met there are clearly highly qualified and are just fun to be around. Cant wait to continue my underwater journey with Scuba Network! If you have been thinking about getting scuba certified, look no further! I had scuba diving in my bucket list for years, and when I finally made the move to get certified, Scuba Network immediately welcomed me into the scuba family. By the time I went on my first open water dive, Scuba Network had prepared me so well I took my giant stride with no fear! Not only do the certification classes prepare you well, but if you have ANY questions about anything scuba related just head over to the shop. Mark has spent many hours helping me pick the right gear to buy that not only fits my body but also my budget. Getting certified has been life changing and a big thanks to Scuba Network for preparing me so well!
I walked in to this dive shop looking for snorkeling gear a little over a year ago and accidentally began what is likely to be a lifetime passion for me. It started by asking the simple question, Wait, you can learn to dive in Manhattan? How does that work? The very next weekend, I found myself in a pool learning the basic skills. I was immediately hooked, in no small part due to the high quality instruction. After my pool sessions, I immediately booked some days to complete my open water dives. Since then I have received a wide range of instruction from many different instructors in Scuba Network across multiple of their locations. These guys have taken me from complete (and scared) beginner to feeling confident and comfortable with being submerged in a variety of environments and conditions. If you get the chance to train with any of them, it will be a pleasure. My life has gone through a transformation because I am now part of a close-knit group of people who feel as much family as mentors and peers. Scuba Network is full of good people, and I am so happy I walked in their door.
My fiance and I were extremely pleased with the overall experience that we had at Scuba Network. Mark was extremely helpful and patient with me from the start. I had a lot of questions about our open water dives and he communicated with the dive shop in Tahiti for me to ensure that we would have everything we needed to dive on our honeymoon. The pool classes were well run and Mark helped us feel as confident as possible. The pricing at the dive shop was also extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend Scuba Network to anyone looking for a good dive shop/scuba certification classes!
Amazing team at SCUBA Network! Im so glad I got pool certified with this team! They made it as fun and easy as it could possible be. The entire staff is amazing. And tip: It might seem like a lot, but definitely worth buying your scuba stuff from their shop. The prices are pretty much the same as online but they let you return anything that doesnt work or fit, as well as showing you how to use it all!
Cross posting a review I just put up on Yelp. I dont generally write online reviews but I had a super positive experience with the Scuba Network instructors and am happy to reflect that online.Happy to say I picked up my Open Water certification card last week thanks to the team at w21st. Spent time with Steve after the online quiz, then Mark for the two pool sessions and a combo of Mark and Ryan for the open water certification dives at Dutch Springs in PA. Really enjoyed the time with each of them and am looking for a time to go again. At the dives in Dutch Springs I felt Ryan and Mark both adapted to the conditions really well (low visibility in August, range of students) and kept the group safe while giving us the opportunity to learn and have a good time. The dive briefings were comprehensive, they helped everyone get comfortable with the equipment, and generally set the tone youd hope for as a bunch of newbies getting a taste for the experience. Fun.Costs so anyone going into it knows what to expect:Online course $119.50. Takes about 5 hours to go over the most important concepts. Have to get a decent enough score to move to stage 2, the pool training. Pool/quick start class: $329. I did two evening sessions in the nearby school. Space in the pool was a bit tight but the novelty of breathing underwater made it all worthwhile. Really nice group of fellow students too - good atmosphere throughout. The qualifying dive instruction was $99.50 each day, Rental gear (BC, wet suit, reg) was $150 combined for the two days. Plus I needed all the equipment - about $340 to buy mask, fins, boots, slate, dive log, gloves, knife)..On top of the instruction, admission at Dutch Springs was $90 for a 2 day pass, and $64 for air tank rental. You can also rent from the store - just worked out for me to do it there instead.Lastly, about a month after starting out, the best $14.95 I spent: ID card with photo.Overall I had a really good experience with the whole team and on the back of first hand dive experience I highly recommend Mark and Ryan as instructors.
I recently completed my Open Water Diver through Scuba Network NYC. They organized a trip to Cancun, Quintanna Roo Mexico. The trip took place between March 26th and March 29th. Over the course of 3 days, we:- Practiced our skills in a confined water session- Became acquainted with dive boats and the naturally occurring bodies of water that Cancun is on- Completed four dives over 2 days, descending to a maximum depth of 53 ft in surge conditions- Officially become an open water diver with a license to learn the future of ScubaOverall Ryan took excellent care of me in the water and ensured that even though I made mistakes, as someone who just dived into the ocean for the first time, I was presented with a way forward that was ....the scuba way. Him and his wife also showed me a fun side of Cancun, showing me around Cancun to obscure and excellent restaurants.I trust Ryan above and below water.I highly recommend him, and the Scuba Network, for anyone considering Scuba Diving as a hobby.
This past year I obtained a boating license and thru that my interest in scuba diving was rekindled. I didn’t think that scuba diving was something available within the NYC so imagine my surprise when I found a scuba diving “brick and mortar” store. I can’t speak of other Scuba Network shops but the NYC 21st location is absolutely incredible. I called ready to buy diving certification classes and diving equipment at normal prices and knowing that Mark (one of the “salesmen”) still directed me to a Groupon which cut the price by more than half compared to their in-store price. Speaking of prices, most if not all of their merchandise are priced lower (not on sale) than that of any other store including online stores.On my first visit I spent over 3hrs in the store, Mark was very patient answering all my questions and making sure I bought the proper equipment and actually suggested I buy less expensive options for my first set of scuba gear. He never tried to up-sale me to more expensive versions or just let me buy whatever since I kinda naturally gravitated to the higher end gear(based on how cool they looked) without any prior information. While there Mark made sure I understood not only the equipment I was buying and joys of scuba but also the danger and risks involved when diving and diving improperly.On top of everything they are affiliated with SDI/TDI for certifications which is a big plus since out of the other scuba organization SDI/TDI are more focused on technical diving. Which to me means safer and more professional style diving while other organizations like PADI are not necessarily unsafe but more geared to recreational diving and not to mention more expensive. All in all 10/5 stars for Scuba network NYC.
I was initially hesitant to leave a review. I had mixed feeling about my experience. However, now that I reflect back on that experience I think it wasnt a particularly good one. I agree that the staff here is genuinely interested and passionate about scuba. They also try to push you to buy their equipment. This is one thing that I absolutely did not like. I felt intimidated and uncomfortable. I really just wanted to get my certification and have the freedom to shop where I wanted, if I wanted , to buy my own gear. I was told to try on gear, buy and test in the water with a money back guarantee -- but the truth is I didnt want to bother with any of that and I didnt get the impression they were going to stop bugging me about purchasing.The pool experience was OK, and the in-store instructions and test were also not particularly comfortable. The staff tried to accommodate for my schedule, but then I realized how many others were also getting their certifications within a tight timeline. Instead of encouragement I got pressure from them with an ongoing sense of doubt about whether Id be able to complete my certification in time for my trip. Of course, I was up-charged for the Saturday class. At the end, while I was happy that there was a store that could help me get certified, I was particularly relieved to be done with the process here. I could only recommend you to go here if the staff reads the comments and makes an active effort to not pressure customers into purchasing and understand that despite the difficulties of setting up a program to help others get certified its also a new and unusual experience for the customers, and they need space and encouragement, not the experience I got.
Did a weight check dive with Ryan yesterday at Dutch Springs. As always, Ryan went beyond what was expected. He helped me with pieces of equipment that were giving me trouble and let me tag along while he gave a refresher court to another diver. As an instructor Ryan is calm, patient, extremely organized and articulate. I continue recommending him to everyone I know who wants to learn to dive.
I have to say how much I appreciate training with Ryan H here. His attention to detail, making sure everything is done perfectly and 1-on-1 training is obviously superior. I recently did a dive with advanced divers, people who had 100+ dives under their belt, and I was a better diver than half my group - controlling my buoyancy, and being aware of what was around me. I was complimented by the dive master and told him Im only on my 13th and 14th dive - he was very impressed in my ability with so little dives. These were also my 1st real current and drift dives and the DM said he would have never know.
I did my PADI certification with Scuba Network in New York. Mark and Ryan have helped me with this. Ryan was my instructor and I did the open water test with him during a trip to Roatan in November 2019. Everting was very professionally organized and we had really a great time. I couldn’t wish for a better instructor, as well as a person to be around. I would not hesitate to recommend Ryan, Mark and Scuba Network to anyone.
Had a blast learning all the basics in the pool with Ryan and Rich! As an instructor Ryan is knowledgable, thorough, patient, and most importantly FUN! Looking forward to getting to know the 21st St. SCUBA Network squad more in the near future :)
I learned to dive here with Mark. Like others have said, Mark is a gem. Patient and kind. I called him my Zen master, and when I went back to finalize my certification he gave me a hug and told me he was proud of me! How wonderful! He seems to genuinely love getting people hooked on the magic of scuba. The only down sides for me were that things can get slow and disorganized when the shop is busy and the guys are overwhelmed with customers. They also do indeed try to hard sell you on merchandise. Just be prepared, know that it is coming and politely decline. If youre new like I was, you do need fins, a snorkel and a mask, but thats really about it. You will get super cold in the pool without a wetsuit, but youll even get a little cold with one. You will need a dive computer for your open water dives. But you can also rent those things, like you can most everything else while you try it out. In any case, I thank Mark for introducing me to an amazing new, watery, fish-filled universe. I havent done any trips or open water dives (did mine separately for certification in Cozumel with a dive shop there) with Mark, but I would try one because he is so Zen.

I purchased a deal through Groupon. I wanted to try scuba diving but since it’s an extreme sport, best to play by the rules and fully understand the dangers of what I am getting myself into. First day when I signed up I stated that I never done scuba diving before and just want to try it out to see where it will lead me to. I was encouraged to purchase the gear instead of using rental. I would lose all the right to receive 20% off once I decided to rent the gear. Mark claimed that they do not profit off the groupon and purchasing gear will support the instructors. He also stated that he included the gear rental part on the groupon to capture newcomers. Mark kept pushing and saying that it’s best to purchase the gear and find the best fit for you. I told him 3 times that I do not want to be carrying all this equipment on the plane and I’m not sure if scuba diving is for me, just want to try it out for now. If I am interested, I will purchase the gear. The rental equipment they provided was EXTREMELY worn out and already ended their life term. The condition appeared as if someone had threw it in the trash and this scuba shop decided to pick it back up and use it as a rental. The shoes given had holes, the flippers would come off during pool session and the goggles would not fit based on face. I never seen such horrific rental equipment condition in my life. I was asked again to either purchase the equipment and or use the broken rental gear. On my first pool session the flippers came out 3 times, water would go into my mask. I am surprised that I was able to complete the 2 pool sessions and I felt like I did a stellar job for broken rental gear. By the end of the 2nd pool session, Ryan pulled me aside and “recommended” me to do an extra class because I appeared to be struggling when I was doing my swimming laps. (I made stops to tighten the flippers) I do consider myself a frequent swimmer and for someone to tell me I cannot finish laps felt insulting. He mentioned that he will give me the next class discounted for $70 and would be able to put me into the class that works with my schedule and Mark originally said was full. I asked Ryan again on which class I did bad on and which skill set in specific, he just said overall I just believe you would need one more class. It did NOT answer my question, why would I need to work on overall? There isn’t something I failed or didn’t follow through on? Then I asked him which class should I take the first or second pool class, Ryan said “either one” I never came back for that extra class since it was recommended but he never mentioned that it was required. I came back to get my book signed that I completed the pool sessions the day before I fly to Florida to do my open water dive. Ryan would not sign my book and said I did not come back for that extra class he requested me to. He told me to do the class tonight, I had no swim gear on me at all. Ryan told me I can just purchase swimwear and join the class for $100, I refused it. He wrote me a letter stating I would need one more pool session and can complete it in Florida. Ryan then said once I completed my open water dives I can come back and pay $10 for the license. This place already required me to purchase a logbook of $16 a defogger for $8 and the license card would be $10 if I wanted a physical copy. When I went to Florida keys for my open water session, defogger was provided to us for FREE, the flippers were not loose or falling off, the mask did not have water flooding in and the license card was also free. I know groupon can sometimes be a bit deceiving but this place is a scam shop, if you have no intention of purchasing their overpriced gear, the service will be terrible. I saw the same pair of goggles that they sell at Scuba Network in the Florida dive shop I went to for HALF the price. This place isn’t even deserving of 1 star if I can rate lower, I will.
The instructors themselves are great individuals. if you happen to get the owner as an instructor beware. he is inpatient and if gets annoyed will try and make you sign up for another class. they have good deals for open water classes, but they will try anything to ram product down your throat such as dive computers, wet suits that are too thin for this part of the country, and many others. ask any experienced diver. all a beginer should have is mask, snorkel, fins, and maybe a weight belt. great salesman, bad instructor. if youre learning go to a shop that will actually care about your well being instead of running through skill sets.
I went to this place about 2 years ago for training, I think the guy who trained me name was mark, Im not sure, but he was calm, cool, and patient. However, I did not like how they tried to sell you a whole bunch of very expensive unnecessary equipment that you do not even need in the basic open water dive. They make it a requirement to have all of this equipment for the pool session and the open water dive. I remember there was this one tall guy that tried to make it a requirement to have this GPS watch that cost $1,000 for the open water dive and of course I almost fell for It but I feel bad for the people that actually fell for that. fortunately, I was able to find a scuba shop near my town that does open water dives for one third of the cost of scuba networks prices. My advice to you guys is to do your homework on scuba diving first and compare prices. Oherwise, you will end up like me and all the other gullible beginners, spending way more you ever have to. Also, try purchasing the required equipment for your dives and classes online. You can save a lot of money on Amazon or Ebay.
Scuba Network on West 21st is a wonderful place to get SCUBA certified. Mark was our instructor, and he was fun, knowledgeable, and made the class an enjoyable experience. There is a lot of material to go over, but Mark kept the class on pace while still taking the time to give thoughtful explanations to any questions that were asked. This is a great place for a beginner to learn and receive personal attention and feedback.

Completed our eLearning exam and pool dives with Mark and Ryan. Couldnt recommend them more highly! Great guys, very knowledgeable and patient. Infused humor into the process to help the nervous folks among us. As they like to say: they are educators: anything you buy in the store theyll help you set up and teach you best practices for keeping equipment clean and ready to use.
I had a fantastic experience with Mark and Ryan at Scuba Network, NYC.Thier combined experience and professional instruction enabled me to build on the basics of my skills and increase my confidence in order to pursue my open water certification. A highly recommended team!
This place was a horrible experience they lie and try to sell you on EVERYTHING. Heres a list:(1) I used a Groupon for my pool dives and they only allow a set number of people per class , which was not stated in the Groupon. Since I had to get my certification before leaving for vacation I paid $100 to be put in a private class.(2) They make you pay $30 to get the SDI card which is actually mailed to you by SDI. FOR FREE.(3) They claimed I couldnt rent equipment for my pool dives and HAD to buy when the Groupon stated theyd rent me equipment. When I pointed this out to them, they immediately change their mind.(4) Pool dives were meant to start at 7pm but they only started at 8:30pm after a sales pitch and whatever else they felt like doing. ALSO the pool dives can be condensed into one time session which MANY MANY dive shops in the city already do.The more I learn about other peoples experiences, the more I hate this place. Mark = you are such an obvious sale person, just tone it down a bit and I probably would have bought something. In the end, surprise surprise I bought mask, snorkel, fins and booties from another company because I just didnt want to deal with your sales pitch.My instructor was awesome so I dont want to take away from his capabilities (Ryan youre the BEST). But the company you work for sucks and I hope things change because its unfortunate people have to go through such a frustrating experience for such a FUN activity.

I needed a last minute dive computer battery change so I reached out to Scuba Network. The people at the dive shop were very accommodating; they replaced my battery within 2 hours after learning that I will be on a dive trip the following morning!
Awesome dive shop in a convenient location. Would highly recommend. Rented some gear at affordable prices and also purchased some gear. The staff was super knowledgable and they went above and beyond with helpful tips for a beginner diver like myself. Definitely check this place out!

So far Ive had a wonderful experience here. Teachers are really nice and very patient. Prices are very competitive, plus a 20% discount on most things just for signing up for classes. Groupon deal was a steal with most equipment included for course. Overall very happy!
I passed my scuba diving swimming poll sessions with Ryan who was very knowledgeable and guided us through the numerous technics. I would highly recommend this staff to any beginner.

Guy told me to put a mask on which I said fine its your business. But the whole time I was in the place he had his mask under his chin and was coughing All OVER THE PLACE. not even covering his mouth

2022-04-11First time writing a Google review but wanted to spend some time sharing how awesome these guys are! I came across the shop a little over a month ago and spoke with Fallon on the phone, who was incredibly helpful and patient for someone with zero diving experience. After having a one-on-one with her in the store, I immediately felt comfortable that this was the right team that I wanted to do my open water training with and signed up for my pool sessions on the spot.Fallon, Ryan, Hailey, Mark, and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful in getting me set up with high quality gear from the get-go without also breaking the bank. I decided to purchase my own mask, snorkel, and fins on day one, with the option to come back and swap out any equipment that didnt fit well after the pool training sessions. Luckily, everything worked great and the pool trainings with Ryan were fantastic. The sessions were easy to schedule, and the facility was privately rented just for our groups pool dives. Ryan was patient, safety-focused, and overall a fantastic instructor.I had such a great experience that I decided to join the shops weeklong Curacao trip to finish my open water diving certification without previously knowing any of the other divers, only knowing that Ryan was also running that trip. I just got back this past weekend and couldnt have had a better vacation. The trip was well-organized, the group was terrific, and the diving was incredible! In addition to finishing my SDI Open Water Scuba Diver certification, I also came back with specialties in Nitrox, Night Diving, and Underwater Navigation. Ryan was extremely attentive during all of our training and an all-around fun group leader/instructor. Ill definitely be going back with SCUBA Network NYC on future diving trips and additional certifications/equipment as I grow my SCUBA experience! Thanks again!

2022-03-28I was so fortunate to have wandered into Scuba Network when I did as their staff has been absolutely amazing to work with between finding the right BCD or video/camera equipment down to the trip that I recently went on with them to Bonaire.From gear and shopping perspective, they have a ton of excellent gear but the thing Ive appreciated the most was just the way their team listened to what I needed as a diver and matched up the appropriate equipment. Appropriate being the key word here as they helped me find what would fit my lifestyle and diving style vs all the stuff I picked out from reading blog posts and reviews.As mentioned, I recently took a trip with them to Bonaire and it was really a transformational trip for me as a diver and just in general. Some of the things I appreciated most from that trip:- They knew the locations, the dive resort and all of the best spots to make sure we had the best possible experience. I spent hours upon hours planning the spots to do our shore dives and they just were like ya...already had that planned. They have got you covered on the planning front. Just treat yourself and enjoy the ride.- Instructors like Fallon and Ryan LOVE diving and they carry that enthusiasm into finding teaching moments and just really fun experiences every chance they can.- I went into that trip with no real friends in the diving world as I have only gone on one off trips for myself. I now have a crew that Ive met for dinner (and I absolutely love hanging with them) and multiple people that I can stay and touch with to talk about diving and life. I see many trips around the world with various people that I met and havent even gotten the chance to connect with yet post-Bonaire.- It was like I was living in one massive dive club for a week. I learned so many tips and tricks from seasoned pros like Karen and Bill and then got to share some of my own little learnings with new divers (who were well taken care of by the likes of Fallon).- I had the time of my life and had more VALUE out of my trip than any of my trips Ive painstakingly planned out on my own.I cannot wait for many many years of trips with this team and future trainings. Ill add more photos but these are the ones I have on rotation as my background image for my work computer to always remind me of my trip and great times!

2022-08-06Walking into the shop I didnt know what to expect as I embark on my scuba journey .. From the start it was a really welcoming environment and I was guided through the whole process from E- learning to pool classes and then to being open water certified on the Cozumel trip! It was an incredible experience full of cool dives with a great group of people. Special thanks to Mark who is super knowledgeable and helped me feel so calm and comfortable under water! I can now say I love scuba diving and am looking forward to more trips and adventures with Scuba network!

2022-05-08The team at SCUBA Network is great. I did my class + pool sessions with them to get certified and they were super easy to work with when I needed to set up an open water test with a different school when I was in Florida. (I was also one of the best prepared in my open water tests!)

2022-06-29Great team of staff that taught my wife from 0 and went on trip to FLL for certification dives! They are very reasonable with pricing all inclusive trip. Very detail oriented instructors that eased my wives near panic attacks first couple dives! Fallon was a wonderful group leader! took care of us before, during and after each dive! even returned our equipment and made us a video and photo album!

2022-09-06Truly masters of the craft, Fallon, Hailey, Mark and Ryan are scuba diving instructors who will set you on the permanent path to scuba diving bliss and happiness.I have merely completed the eLearning and pool training sessions but I feel absolutely compelled to write this review because I have nothing but respect for the professionalism, patience as well as industriousness displayed by every member whom I have met so far at Scuba Dive Network Manhattan.Mark led the way in helping me complete my eLearning course and Ryan coached me throughout both pool training sessions. The level of care, thoughtful deliberation as well as labor of love can be discerned from every exchange you can possibly have with these two gentlemen.Am looking forward to book all 4 open dive trips in 2023 with Scubadive Network NYC because I feel safe, have great fun and simple cannot wait for the next time I talk to Fallon and Hailey! I wish for my 12 year old daughter and my 10 year old son to assimilate both their energies, passion as well as enthusiasm as they share their personal scuba diving experiences.So much more to share yet it can only do a fraction of what is believably just tip of the iceberg how much this formidable team has done. 2016-11-27While the salesman was more aggressive than I was comfortable with, he was very knowledgeable and took a lot of time to walk us through the pros and cons of every piece of equipment. You can find everything you need here for diving or snorkeling, plus they have classes and trips. We will definitely be back.

2021-11-05I feel so fortunate to have found Scuba network. What a great dive shop! Everyone is so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate about the sport. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like family. I did both my pool and open water dives with Fallon (who is amazing). She was supportive, patient, and encouraging. I felt completely comfortable in any setting knowing she was there with me. Just finished a trip to Roatan led by Fallon and had the absolute best time. She took care of every detail, from the dives to dinners, and made sure everyone felt included and had fun! I’ll definitely be back to the shop for any of my scuba needs and can’t wait to do another trip with this incredible team.

2021-09-22Just signed up to do my open water certification after a glowing recommendation from a friend. He credits the approach of the team here with the confidence that he feels in his newly acquired skill. He said they made the process fun and that everyone is super friendly and patient. I saw that first hand today as they let me take almost an hour of their time to talk shop before signing up. So far so good. Pop in for a chat even if you aren’t sure yet. No high pressure sales but you will probably get excited like me and sign up for what you’ve been thinking about for years.

2020-07-29We had a blast getting scuba certified with Ryan. He is the ultimate instructor. We were 5 people and we felt we were getting one on one instruction. He put us through all the skills and drills and most important we felt safe in his care. It was serious training and at the same time fun which is what you want. Scuba diving is a great sport - you need to know what you’re doing and that’s what Ryan is all about. Knowledgeable, experienced and a whole lot of fun. We look forward to diving again with Ryan and Scuba NYC in the future.
