I would give no stars if I could. Its not the gear thats the issue, its the customer service. In February, I ordered over $300 of snorkel gear for my trip to Hawaii in March. I receive my order 1 week later but they sent me 1 snorkel fin. I immediately reach out to customer service, they apologize, and said they will ask the warehouse if they found a missing fin. This takes 1 week. When they confirm they cant find the other fin (no surprise) they say send us back the fin but were sold out of the fin you chose. I need to select new fins but of course, the only fins that are comparable are more expensive. They tell me I need to pay the difference on them. Im like really? This is your mistake and you are now asking for more money from me? The customer service person then says they need to get manager approval for discounts. This takes another week. Finally get manager approval to charge me the same cost as my original fins. (which should have been the 1st response) Ok so now were at March 15. I leave for Hawaii the next week. Fins finally arrive but what happens now? They charged me again for the fins. I dont find this out till after I get back from my trip. AND they sent me another set of fins? WTH??? I just called customer service, told them of THEIR mistake and my missing refund. They said, you will get the refund once you ship back the fins. I said ok great! so again, more time out of my day to deal with YOUR mistakes. I said are you even able to offer me a gift card for dealing with all YOUR mistakes? They said, we can offer you free overnight shipping. Im like really? thats it?? Moral of the story: If you order with them, and you need to change your order, or they get it wrong: 1. They dont believe in crediting you for their mistakes. 2. Have tons of patience since itll take 1 month to correct the order. Good luck!!!
While everyone I dealt with at Leisure Pro was absolutely a seasoned polite professional, the one that truly sticks out in my mind that went above and beyond to exceed my expectation was Mario the sales manager. Ive spend hours with him over the past month or so and he has been patient, informative and truly has pride and ownership in what he does as the sales manager of LP. He was personable, patient and really went the extra mile to see if we could do a little business. All the great people at Leisure Pro are awesome and make sure that your purchase will make you happy, what you need and what will keep you safe. They are not just out to sell you whats in stock, but what you need and they provide their honest and open feedback on items they sell or deal with. This is my LDS. You will not be disappointed! Thank you Mario and your great sales team.
Nancy with Leisure Pro LTD has been super responsive to my issue, so I deleted my initial 1 star and changed it to 5 stars. It makes a lot more sense now.Reviewers please reach out to Nancy before posting your review... if you see a 3rd Party Site using their company name, it most likely isnt them.
Advertises a price match guarantee. But when I attempted to use it they would not honor the price on a different website first claiming that it was a different product this particular manufacture only makes two styles of the product so by description they were matching products. Then they tried to say because leisure pro offered free shipping that the products are the same price. Which is false there’s a $70 difference from the total purchase price. It’s frustrating when a company will not stand behind their advertising.
Shopping at Leisure Pro was spectacular! I was referred to this site by my dad, whos been a diver for 40+ years. Leisure Pro has a huge selection for all your scuba and snorkeling needs at very competitive prices. Not only that, but in the off chance that someone else has an item for a lower price, their price match guarantee plus their extra 5% off will surely beat the competitors out of the water! They have a great customer service base that is willing to help you via phone or chat to answer all your questions prior and after purchase. My favorite thing about them is their return policy that is second to none. Purchasing items online is tough when you cant try them on prior to purchase. The fact that you can exchange items that dont fit right is amazing. Not only that, but they understand that the only way yo truly try something is to dive right in! Thats why they are willing to accept return and exchanges even after you have used them in the water. Great stuff! My wife and Is first purchase and many more to come, thats for sure.
It took a full month to get our order!! Box not taped appropriately and popped open during shipping. We chose LP because you can live chat with people who are experienced divers who know a lot about diving and can make good product recommendations (thank you Ben in CO!).But we wont order from LP again. Many items we ordered showed as available but were actually on backorder. Shipping was delayed for more than a week, with no updates that items wouldnt even be shipping for a week. So if you are trying to order something to use it against a travel or class deadline, you are taking a risk with Leisure Pro. And I understand that USPS shipping is slow, but some of the delays seem to be on the LP side of things, with delayed and limited communication, and that was very frustrating. We ended up buying from our local dive shop, which is what we should have done from the beginning (lesson learned).Update: ordered 11/28/20, LP shipped 12/6 (unclear why delayed), arrived today 12/28/20. Bottom of box had broken open during shipping because it was not taped adequately by LP for weight of the box prior to them shipping. Looks like USPS retaped it so that contents would not spill further.
Long story short I made a return, but Leisure Pro only gave me a partial refund. When I reached out to them several times to ask the condition of the box they received they were no help and I never heard from the customer service department again. That is until Nancy from the CS ambassador department reached out to me and was more than willing to help me. The issue was completely resolved thanks to her! I will continue to do business with LP thanks to her assisting me in resolving my problem. Thank you again!
If I could give zero or negative stars , I would. Really appalling service. Declined order due to irregular address despite my bank authorising the payment and the Payment address being correct. No o e else has an issue with it, maybe not used to international orders. Their own verification dept declined it. On calling them, no more details were given, other than the refund would “eventually “ be credited back to my credit card…. What’s that all about?Find someone else to buy scuba kit from. These guys are amateurs
Total nightmare. Leisure Pro Did not ship within the time that they would specify, and my equipment did not arrive in the time that they said it would. On top of that, Leisure Pro had the most important part of my order drop shipped from the manufacturer. Leisure Pro did not follow up on the order with the manufacturer, and my equipment did not arrive. When I called customer service to find out the status of my order, they were unable to provide me with any information.I truly regret ordering from Leisure Pro. The exact same package that I purchased is available on Amazon for the exact same price… I will make sure that I order from Amazon in the future, I will never give Leisure Pro another penny of my money.
Update to original review below: Leisure Pro got back to me via Twitter and has requested Amazon to give a full credit back to my original form of payment. I need to wait up to 7 days to see it, but Im assuming there wont be a problem. For this reason, i have changed my rating from one star to four stars. I did not give five stars because of all the hassle I had to go through to finally get the credit. But, at least in the end, Leisure Pro stepped up.I purchased some Aqua Sphere goggles from Leisure Pro (via Amazon). The goggles broke before the one-year warranty period was up, so I contacted Leisure Pro, who told me to mail them back and they would issue a refund to my original form of payment. I mailed them back, via USPS, got a tracking number, and via that tracking number confirmed delivery. However, Leisure Pro denied receiving the defective goggles and refused to give me a refund. For $23, and given that I had a tracking number and confirmed delivery, I am very surprised they would not issue a refund for a relatively small amount like this, if not just to preserve customer goodwill. Last time I make any purchases from them--and I am a scuba diver, who has purchased much more expensive equipment from them. Very poor customer service. I dont trust their warehouse receiving department. Ive initiated a lost package trace with the USPS, but I doubt anything will come of that. Dont know what more I can do.
We came here for snorkels and masks in advance of a vacation on which were going snorkeling. Great experience! Mario walked us through the basics, helped us choose the right equipment. He was knowledgeable, and welcoming to beginners. The masks we chose, were not in stock at the store, but they shipped (free shipping) to our home in 2 days. Good atmosphere in the shop, its up on the 3rd floor so you dont have random people coming in off the street, only people who need snorkel/scuba equipment. Thank you! Highly recommend!
When to the brick and mortar store, the service was good. I purchased a hooded vest and the price was good. I also sized some of the wetsuits, they have a larger selection on line. So I will order one from the website soon, I hope that the shipping is as advertised. Most of the staff are not divers so do your homework on what you are shopping for.Now for the big test, there was a price change on an wetsuit I purchased on line, by the time it arrived they cut the price by over $100. I have emailed the store about this... ball is now in their court. 1/10/16, They responded and issued a credit. The store has earned its stars and a repeat costumer.
I spent an hour placing my order with JG, spending over $3,000 on dive equipment. I needed the items overnight. I understand my order was last minute but I asked repeatedly if there would be an issue with the item shipping over night, I had other options. I was informed all items were in stock and there would be no issue as they pride themselves on such orders. JG said he would personally keep and eye on this order and let me know if any issues arouse but he was confident all would be well. I then noticed on the order confirmation that is had ship ground, I had paid for over night.. I called JG and he informed me he had seen that but had checked and this only referred to the local location. I asked if he was sure about this as I had never heard this before and we ship and receive 100s of items a day from our business. he told me as it was overnight a contracted company would make the local delivery and this is what was meant, he again reassured me the shipment would leave and he would call me before he finished work. Of course the deadline approached, no call, no email to confirm shipment. I called this morning and spoke to EN (who was helpful in the sense he canceled the order and apologized) he advised me the items had NOT shipped. I should have taken more notice of the reviews only a 3.6 rating on Yelp and others. My only conclusion is they took the order no matter what and hoped I did not need the items over night, I just dont understand why. I could have traveled a few hundred miles and bought the items I needed yesterday but was assured that Leisure Pro could fulfill the order. Dont trust what they say.At the very least I would have expected a call from them last night to say the order would not ship but nothing....unbelievable.
This is a great place to buy diving gear. They go out of their way to satisfy the customer. I bought a demo dive computer online, and after I placed my order they ran out of the item instead of canceling the sale. They sent me the new version in like new condition. The same thing happened with my BCD. I love this place and will be a loyal customer forever.
I was on my way to the airport and needed to stop and get some last minute scuba stuff for my trip. I was already pushing time and since this was one of the few options of being open I decided to go out the way a bit to stop here. I saw that some the reviews weren’t great but I had a superb experience. They were very quick to help me with what I needed, especially being a beginning diver. They helped me get everything at a great cost and really rushed knowing I was on my way to catch a flight. I never do reviews but this one was worth it!
Placed my order online. Everything arrived in a timely manner. I misjudged the fin size needed for my son and needed to exchange what I ordered. I called customer service and the girl emailed a prepaid UPS shipping label to me. New item arrived a few days later and I received a credit to my CC shortly after that. Good service. I will definitely use them again.
Up until this point, I have been very satisfied with my experience with Leisure Pro. Items I have ordered have been high quality, on time, and any interaction with customer service has been efficient and friendly.I recently (4/12/19) ordered two wetsuits from Leisure Pro. I was nervous about ordering wetsuits online, but was encouraged by the Pressure Free Fit guarantee and previous experience with Leisure Pro, so I decided to risk it. Both wetsuits were a poor fit for us (too small) which was disappointing because we have been longtime Henderson users and these were Henderson suits. So I used the online process to return the items, selecting to exchange both for larger sizes to try. This all went smoothly and I printed out the return labels and shipped the boxes back. Shortly we received the larger sized wetsuits in the mail. One of them came directly from the factory (side note - that product was defective with a leg sewn on twisted. . . . I noted this on the return form). Still we were not satisfied with the fit of either suit but going to an even larger size would have made them too big.Trying to return these two items is where the problems began. Went I went online to return the items for a refund, I was unable to do so. Because these were exchanged items, the only option for returning them was to select store credit. I did not want store credit and was well within the time frame for getting a refund back on my card. I called Customer service on 5/5/19 and explained the situation. The representative was very nice and informed me that I could simply fill out a return form, package the products within an outer shipping box (inside their original boxes) and ship them. This process however cost me $60, which is completely unacceptable.Since the items had to be returned in the original boxes WITHIN an outer shipping box, I had to purchase a large box to fit the two smaller boxes. I dont have access to boxes so I had to buy one at the shipping store. Next, the shipping cost $40. I called customer service to ask about getting a shipping label from them (like I did for the exchange) but was informed I could not, because I wasnt able to process the return online. I understand that the original return shipping charges are non-refundable, but they were not $40. So by not being able to return the items online, since they were an exchange, I had to pay exorbitant shipping costs plus $20 for a box since I wasnt allowed to put any labels on the original boxes.I feel like I was mislead about the Pressure Free Fit process. Had I know what a hassle it would be to return the exchanged suits I never would have gone through the process in the first place. $60 to return two wetsuits was unfair. That is almost half the price of one of the wetsuits I tried.I emailed the company (including the President since he emailed me to thank me for my order and to report any issues, so I did). The response was a canned apology basically saying too bad.Update: I appreciate the response below but it misses the point. I completely understand that you dont offer free returns. I was not looking for a free return. I was looking to process the return like normal but couldnt because I used the Pressure Free Fit. If I had ordered two wetsuits and decided to simply return them, I could have processed the return online, printed out the shipping label (with a reasonable amount deducted from the refund for shipping), put the label on the box and returned it. But because I exchanged the original items for a different size to try, the option to process a return online was gone. I called hoping I could do it over the phone and was told I would have to process the return on my own (not get a printed label) AND get a new box as I could not stick anything on the original boxes. The amount I had to pay to return the two exchanged wetsuits was WAY more than if I had been able to process the return online and just have the shipping cost deducted from my return. Particularly because I had to buy a box.
Wish I could leave 0 Stars! Company does not stand behind their pricing. Made a purchase and they cancelled my order saying the price was an error. Did not even try to work with me. Stay away from a company that doesnt even honor their pricing! Both my wife and I are new to diving and purchasing all kinds of new gear. Now Im spending my $$ elsewhere. Believe the negative reviews!! They DO NOT CARE about customers only $$. I even got a e-mail from Phil Mendel the President, Leisure Pro thanking me for my purchase they cancelled!.. I responded but never got a reply to my concern. Not a surprise. There is no service here! You have been warned!
Ive bought from them many many times over the past 5 years or so and I am very satisfied. Reliable service, fair policies and good prices. Their physical store in NYC is tiny and isnt very impressive, but their online store is great. Two things to know:1. They have great prices on Aqualung products but they are not authorized dealers of Aqualung.2. If you buy something with FREE shipping, and then you need to return the item, you get charged for the shipping.
My wife and I had a good experience at the Leisure Pro store in NYC. We dealt with Charlie who was very patient, helped us find the wetsuits, masks, fins, and boots we were looking for and had some good insight between different products. Also, they have very good prices compared to what you see online.Well be back next time we need something.Youll get the best prices by making a visit.
I had the pleasure of working with John Gunderson on developing a dive package that was suited for me and my 11 year old son.I was looking to stay within a price range that covered all of our dive equipment and all associated equipment. This was our first time buying our own equipment.John introduced me to all the Pros and Cons to the rigs that we had in mind to purchase. The equipment that I purchased I feel is everything I had and mind that was well within our price range with all of the safety consideration in mind.John had me and my family always at the forefront when it came to our purchas. Truly a professional in all aspects of his job and his skillset.I will definitely be buying again from Leisure Pro.*I will do a follow up once I get my equipment as well.
Ordered scuba fins, got wrong size. Customer service has not been answering for days now. Says its due to a holiday, for 3 days? It was Columbus Day on Monday and it is now Wednesday. I have emailed them and still no response.Update: a couple weeks now. They were closed for 2 weeks for a Jewish holiday. They sent me a refund for part of the penalty fee I had to pay to my scuba shop for being unable to go on my dives. Because of all the trouble I had to go through, this is why I am updating my 1 star to a 2 star.
The prices are very good. The person who helped us in the store was very helpful and didnt pressure me to buy more than needed. The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is that my regulator malfunctioned shortly after purchase and their customer service dept initially told me it would have to be sent back to the manufacturer for repair or replacement, even though it meant I would not be se to take it on the dive vacation for which I originally purchased it! I took it to the store and they repaired it on site without a delay, so overall it was a good experience.
Very, very positive experience. Great staff, selection, and prices. John was knowledgeable and honest and very helpful. Perfect customer service. Good to see some real New Yorkers sticking around in business in the city. Leisure Pro will be my go-to dive shop from now on and I will recommend to everyone. Thanks again!
Awful customer service. Wont stand by their products. Wont take any responsibility. Move the goal posts. Cant keep notes on the account. Getting a refund is like getting blood from a stone. Full story: I purchased an SUP pump for $99. It worked 3 times then stopped working. I called LP for a refund and they said its not their problem and to contact the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer who was pissed since LP have a return allowance which is included in their deal so theyre not out of pocket for warranty returns. Regardless the manufacturer said they would send a replacement. I said I wanted a refund as I had lost faith in the product but they asked me to try one more time. Replacement pump arrived and didnt even work once. It made all the right noise but couldnt pump the board past 1 psi. I called LP again to return the second pump. They said they wouldnt return it as I was one day past the cutoff and anyway I had used it now so it didnt qualify. I phoned the manufacturer back for a refund and they said they would call LP to authorize the return. LP told the manufacturer they would return my money as manufacturer had guaranteed they wouldnt be out of pocket. 3 days later still no return. It took me another 35 minutes on the phone with LP to get them to agree to give me my money back including having to send them another photo of the pump with the cord cut. The even more stupid thing about requiring me to send the photo of the pump with the cord cut is that I have two pumps so they dont know which pump the photo is of. Point being they made me jump through another hoop which didnt achieve anything.
Nice small scuba shop on the top floor of the Adorama photo store and owned by the same owners. Leisure Pro is a spot on web shopping site with great knowledgeable reviews and articles on their site. As a brick and mortar its hard to garner the items you are going to purchase as since the store is small you wont see everything out on display but would have to get help from the clerks. The service is great though and very knowledgeable. They do have a wide selection of a lot of products for within the city that is good and have great price points. Came here for a few items and they were all in stock and the service was very helpful. Id give 4 stars if the items were out on display but its understandable since its a small storefront.
This company does not believe in the customer is always right. I was extremely disappointed when I called to tell them that I had received the wrong size in my online order and the customer service representative responded by telling me I was wrong. I am certain of the size I ordered (they might want to indicate size on their invoices). I am able to return the product but they will not be covering the cost in shipping to or from me. This is an unacceptable customer service practice.
Very unhappy. I ordered a specific speargun from this shop and was sent a different model then what I ordered. Not only was it a cheaper gun all the decals on the gun were torn and the gun itself was scratched. $400 dollars on what looked like a used gun. Then I call and they tell me they arent even sure if they have the model I ordered in stock! Stay away, plenty of websites and shops that sell diving equipment, choose a different one
I recently ordered a spear gun from leisure pro. Was extremely excited to receive the item and when it finally arrived it’s scuffed up like it’s been dropped multiple times, the handle that is white is dirty. And the best part, the spear gun came without a trigger mechanism. I don’t know what kind of shady business this is but I will certainly never order from them again. And also do not recommend anyone else ordering either.
I had ordered the Guardian Stealth Full facemask from them. I was leaving for a trip in 2 days and needed the mask. A very last minute ordered. I called and was told they didnt have one in-stock, however they ended up having a truck come in and there was 1 on the truck. They rushed the ordered had it shipped and I had it the next day my 10 am, just in time for my trip. Excellent customer service in my personal experience. Have not had to deal with any returns or warranties, and do not suspect I will, as the Guardian Fullface masks are QUALITY products. Very happy with my purchase.
I loooove leisurepro online, I have bought a ton of gear from them. Its a great company, awesome service, best return policy. Cant say enough. When I was in NYC on my last visit I figured Id go and see the shop. I was not that impressed, its not massive, and they have limited things in the showroom versus online. I would give it 2 stars, but the online store is so good, they are the best.
Update: Management from LeisurePro reached out to me and has made it right. Thank you Nancy for all you have done to rectify the situation. You are definitely a true asset to the company.I bought a Cressi BCD from them and they refused to assist me with a broken weight pocket. They required me to return the entire BCD and issue a credit so I would have to buy a new BCD which is now a $120 more expensive. I wish I could give them a 0 stars. Never buying from them again and I suggest you consider an alternate dive supply shop.
Avoid:Sent me the wrong item. Even though it was their mistake, customer service wanted me to pay for shipping and restocking fee. Eventually, their Management said they would get me full refund but it took them 3 attempts to get all my money back. Who has time to make at least 7 or 8 phone calls/emails to get all the money back from their mistake?
This company is horrible. I ordered speakers from them and they didnt last a day. They refused to send replacements and their return policy says everything must be in new condition and included in original package. Yeah that can happen, let me rip out the wires and solder them together. Who keeps all original packaging. Lost $400 to these scam artist. Read the other post and stay clear of this business.
Very good shop. Knowledgeable personnel and friendly atmosphere. We bought most of our equipment there and got a good deal. Our Cressi Air travel back inflated BCDs are very comfortable and we were lucky to get them on sale. Mask, regulators and computers are also working well. Seems like they have good quality stuff there.
When I spend my hard earned money I do my homework and check multiple sites and shops for the equipment I want to buy.The guys at Leisure Pro are top notch.Aaronn in particularly is excellent, not only giving me the best price, but is very knowledgeable with the gear they sell.I will recommend to everyone, in fact, I already have, and I will be shopping here from now on. An excellent job and a customer for life.
I have always been very happy with the items, shipping and service I received from Sunny sports and there sister sites Ieisure pro and Adorama.I have ordered from each of them many times and have only had one issue and that was not entirely their fault, I ordered an item that was out of stock and it took longer for them to get it back in-stock and ship it than I expected, I asked them to redirect it after it was shipped to my next dive site, they where very nice and had it delivered to our next location.one negative - I do hate their websites they are not shopper friendly, very hard to find what youre looking for.I dont understand why they would have a plain and ugly home page that only has two items promoted, the weekly item and the monthly item both which are the smallest thing on the page, why would you wast the opportunity to promote more items on the first page and only page that everyone sees.
Ive never shopped here but my debit card was charged overdrawn my account, whoever purchased from here on 8/14/2020 I pray you use it in good health, 😉I have to revise this due to the swift response I received from the owner and my issue was resolved and I will keep them in mind if I ever require aquatic items, etc👍
Physical store has a small sample of whats available online and you have to call to check whats in stock (its not marked on their website, like Walmart does for example). On the positive side, prices are the same as online and occasionally even lower. Their online prices are as competitive as anywhere else, so a couple of times I bought from physical store at nationwide best price. Generous 60-day return policy.
I went there yesterday looking for a wet suit. Amanda was very helpful and after trying on quite a few suits I finally ended up with one. I looked up the price online for the same suit and it averaged around $400. I bought mine for $290. Super comfortable suit. Will definitely be coming back here for their great prices, good selection and helpful staff. Also loved the fact that they are opened late. Thank you!!
Dive shop customer service representatives have no clue what theyre even selling. They think a BCD is the same thing as a first stage/second stage regulator.I got the incorrect item and they just keep insisting that theyre correct even though it clearly describes what each item is supposed to be on their website.
Called this company to place an order because I wanted to use my FedEx account for shipping. Was told that it was possible. Agent John Gunderson took my order and information, then flailed around trying to get the account to work, after some time on the phone it became clear that they could take UPS accounts only. I was able to locate my UPS account and provided it to the agent. At this point, the agent attempted to charge me an unexplainable $10 shipping fee. I requested to speak to a manager about this and was told that this was their final decision. Unethical company with clueless employees, tread at your own risk.
Big Bait and Switch shop. Let me order a set of Fins that although said discontinued in the title (all the sizes do), showed in stock and ready to ship. They hit my card immediately with a charge, removed the size I ordered from the website (other sizes still show available) and then wanted me to buy a $35 more expensive set of fins. If you are going to take a risk with these people, call your order in and make sure they have it in stock and the price advertised.
I have been a costumer for several years. Both on line and at their NYC locations. Over all I have been satisfied with the products I have received. The exception to this was with several recent purchases. The sale personal were not divers and could not relate accurately to the equipment I was purchasing. The Sten Mini Spear gun comes with a plastic line that is not intended for use. There is a cord that comes with the spear gun that you are suppose to attach. The sales person was unaware of this and the first time I used the spear gun I loss the bolt when the plastic broke. (I though it was plastic covered wire). The next purchase was an 80cft tank. The tank was over a year old and was missing a washer with the screw in plug. The results were rust in the threads. The staff on hand for the most part are not divers but simply sales personnel and you are on your own to insure your own safety with your purchases.
Awful service. I ordered a watch which should have been delivered in 3-5 biz days. I tracked it and it said it was mailed out but it never actually was. I had to contact leisure pro for details and eventually it was credited BUT they didnt credit me the expedited shipping charge which I had to call back again to get. Would have been nice to receive more info - that the item wasnt going to make it, even though they still have it in stock. They offered to resend, but after all the nonsense they still wanted the full price. No thanks. Poor job all around. Spend the extra money and avoid the incompetence if you can.
They didnt have what I needed in stock at the store, so I reached out to them via email to arrange having a couple of suits sent to the shop so I could try them on. Immediately, the guy who responded to me was short with me, not very helpful, and made giving LP money an unappealing proposition.Im a women looking for a 5mm suit, very few of which they had in stock in the shop. Salesperson via email offers two examples they have in stock, says thats it. I say, I was told it was possible to bring more models into the shop, since, especially because Im a woman, suit-fit is idiosyncratic. His response was literally We don’t have saleswomen in the store if that’s what you mean, which wasnt what I meant, but made me also think, You dont have any women working in the store?(No, no they dont. In retrospect, Id shop elsewhere), and finishes that email with, Oh hey we actually **do** have one of those suits you mentioned in stock (so *why* wasnt this included in your first response in which you listed all the 5mm womens suits you have in the shop??).I told this guy that I was looking to buy: a **BCD**, a 5mm suit, a *regulator*, an SPG, and probably a bunch of extras (lights, knife, whatever) and got the least interested, least helpful responses I could have imagined.Id just said Im putting down ~$2000 and youre acting as though Im putting you out to help me find a suit that actually fits; unbelievable. Like actually helping a customer with a large investment is somehow a favor to me.This went on, btw, over a series of **9** emails. 9 uninterested, unhelpful emails. WTF.Tl;dr: Awful CS via email, real ignorance about product lines (esp women-specific BCs and suits), no women on staff, CS staff not knowledgeable about individual products.EDIT: They reached out to me and I worked with a different person, Mario, to put together a comprehensive list of what Id need. I spent several hours at the store with Mario, who was great - very knowledgeable, very helpful, very patient.I did overhear Mario asking about the discount I had been offered in a private email, since my first experience was pretty abysmal. Regarding the actual percentage, his manager said (I quote), What am I, an idiot? (very tactful), so I certainly was given a smaller discount than Mario had thought Id get. Dont think Id go back, the overall experience wasnt great, despite great in-person CS, after making a stink about it.
Purchased a used dive computer from them a few months ago, finally hooked it up to air and the high pressure line bulged and nearly went flying into the back of my head. I purchased this item because they said they would warranty it for two years directly on their website. When I called them, they stated that they would not replace the damaged item because it was out of warranty (only owned the item four months). They would not let me speak to another representative or supervisor higher up. Yes they have good prices, but the customer service is absolutely horrible. At this point, I will not buy from them again. If you decide to purchase from here, do not buy anything used (because obviously they dont verify its safety) and understand that you are buying the item for price alone and not customer service.
I have now made multiple purchases from them and they are awesome! They have frequently discounted the price for me and on one occasion when some booties didn’t fit they accepted my return with no questions asked. They were friendly and provided great customer service.
If your scuba equipment where as reliable as LeisurePro we’d all be dead! They sent the tank I ordered with a “yoke only” k-valve when I only dive din. Have an ice dive coming up and have to buy a new valve locally defeating all purpose to buy online. Time in time out LeisurePro will let you down when you need them most and will apologize with a sorry it happens. NOT OKAY IN THE DIVE COMMUNITY. Spent so much money with them in the past while they have only managed to get one full order correct. Please stay far away from this place! The little money you’ll save with them does not calculate the hours you will have to spend with their terrible customer service.
Extreme disappointment! I was suppose to receive my watch on 12/8 as I ordered it on 11/25. It was to be a Christmas gift. On 12/14/16 I called Amazon to determine the location of my package. They wrote to LeisurePro and they responded the next day with an email. It said wait a couple of days. Called Friday and talked to Joanna. Said wait to Monday. if not receive then they will send new one 3 day mail. I checked their website and they had the watch in stock. Checked Sunday, no watch in stock. Called Sunday and they said the only thing they could do is give refund or wait until after Christmas. If they would have sent me a new watch that Friday, my son would have his gift. They had an opportunity to make it right and they chose not to do so.
Great dive shop! They really made my long trip into the city worth it. A knowledgable staff, thats happy to help with whatever you want, and they never try to sell you anything you dont need. They even have a used gear section for those of us who know what we need but may not want to pay full price!
I cannot say enough about this place. If you need outfitted with gear. Go in person they will take their time. Help you pick out the right gear and give you in store bundle pricing and ship it to you for free. I also have since bought numerous items online which is fast and efficient.
Wanted to buy life jackets, I had to call three times just to figure out if they had them, when they could be shipped from their warehouse and when I could pick them up. You would think that after three calls they would remember a potential customer, but no... every time I called I had to explain everything all over again and describe what the other employees had said to me. I went to pick up the gear, and again they had NO IDEA who I was or what I was looking for, they made me look up the name of the product on THEIR web site. Then the guy who was helping me vanished and 10 minutes later I saw him with 20 goggles in his hands helping out another woman as if I had never existed. When I asked him where my life jackets were he told me to wait a minute...I went back the next day to return two of the life vests since they had never been used... they were closed at 2PM on a Friday in NYC.... I have never seen a shop close at 2PM on a Friday... Also closed ALL day on Saturday... Its called Leisure Pro.... how is a Leisure shop closed during hours of leisure...
Terrible customer service. Extremely rude staff who act as if they’re doing you a favor. They have very little on display and make a big fuss out of getting the inventory from the stockroom. Most of the stuff does not reflect prices and they seem to do a lot of bait and switch. You ask for one thing, they tell you they have it, and then they bring you a more expensive item. I would definitely not recommend.
Took an hour to buy equipment. They were busy, I get it, but instead of helping one person at a time, they were trying to help multiple and jumping back and forth. So theyd forget the question you ask them, and have to reask it. Also not everything we asked was answered well. As newbies to snorkeling it was a very frustrating, but we did end up buying great quality items after all the hassle. (partly because of internet research on our phones while waiting).
First of all I want to state that I had an issue with an order, had wrong item delivered, but not to worry. After getting ahold of customer services, I was contacted by Nancy Miller (awesome person), she went above and beyond to correct the issue and had the speargun issue resolved, I would highly recommend Leisure Pro. When you have such wonderful people working in Customer Service I can assure you they will do what is correct. Thank you so much Nancy and have a blessed day.
Mario is great very knowledgeable salesperson not pushing will help you make the right decision like he said its all about the fit not about the price so if you buying gloves or wetsuit or drysuit make sure it fits right. If youre looking for a new wetsuit drysuit goggles gloves or anything related to scuba diving and go see Mario he will definitely help you out and hell take care of you
This is nothing more than a drop ship company that needs some six sigma supply chain training. They dont take customer notes so you get a different story depending who you talk to. They do not confirm shipments untill many days later. They do not meet their shipping times. It takes over a week to remove their holds from your credit card or paypal. They cannot put hands on your order so they must not even carry any stock. This is a NYC call center, good luck with them and their phony reviews.
Customer service definitely needs to improve, I was served by dumb girl that was mixing up emails and never responding my questions, at the end I told her to get a grip and she said that she had too many emails to respond. They have good range of products and good prices, but should improve Customer Services.
Had a nice experience dealing with Aaronn. Went in to find a comfortable mask for snorkeling that I could get corrective optical lenses for. Prices were reasonable and Aaronn had the lenses installed within a days notice for me to pick up. Im excited to actually SEE the SEA :) Thank you!
Order was not shipped out for ten days, they said they were closed for a religious holiday(for 10 days) no notifications - emails or any other communications to let me know this was happening, customer service was terrible and unhelpful in finding a solution. Even though I order 2 weeks before my trip it wont show before I leave.
You have to take the elevator to the 3rd floor by Adorama to get to this little dive shop. Most of the inventory is not on display so you have to work with a salesperson for things like sizes. Nothing has prices but they have scanners throughout so you can check. Prices were fair though and they have everything you need.
2 times I was in the store, I drove on purpose. I wanted to buy a box for the camera. I come - is there a box for my camera? - No ... - On the site there is ... - Ah, well, yes .. But now it’s not available, we will bring it tomorrow ... I arrive as agreed - You know, we sold it today via the Internet ... well, something like that ...

2022-08-20Im surprised by the poor ratings as Ive always had a good experience shopping here, including when it was Leisure Pro. They hold a good range of stock considering theyre right in the middle of Midtown, so you can actually try stuff on before buying, and they can order stuff in for you easily if youre after something they dont have in stock. They carry good quality gear, fairly priced, but the real selling point for me is the customer service: I made several visits ahead of a Galapagos liveaboard trip in March and Mary gave me fantastic advice about gear choices and was very patient as I dithered over whether to invest in a 5mm or 7mm suit. She really knows her stuff and was so friendly and helpful. No problems returning or exchanging gear when stuff I ordered online didnt fit right. If youre planning to go into the store in person, worth being aware they observe the Sabbath so are closed Friday afternoons and Saturdays.

2022-07-04Honestly this is one of the best scuba and snorkel outfitters I have ever been to. They are kind courteous and knowledgeable and no matter where you look you will not be able to find a better deal on gear. I am looking forward to our latest trip down to the keys to try out the newest equipment we bought. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future!

2022-06-29I had an unexpected great time visiting this store. The salesman was very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. They have a wide variety of scuba items available. I didnt intend on buying a speargun today, but I guess I have new toy! Huge thanks from me to the salesman today!

2022-04-04Needed a triple x drysuit in a rush. Arthur in California had a couple brought from the NY warehouse to the showroom in time for me to rush into the city try on and buy one. Mary took excellent care of me letting me try on several hoods and explaining features . She even taught me a new seal trimming trick! Ran out of there forgetting my drysuit underwear so she express mailed them to me in NJ in time for my trip ! Excellent prices and service !!

2022-07-19Really Bad Customer Service. I Place an order, and the order came incomplete. According to them, I have to wait until they have the time to do an inventory for them to know if they have that extra part. Days went by and I still waiting for an Answer. Today, Im returning everting back and Im waiting for the refund. I Lost a dive trip Last weekend because all the delays and Im fixing to miss the one this weekend because of them.

2019-10-09When researching scuba gear I usually visit the Leisure Pro website. Call visiting New York, I knew I had to visit the store. The store is small, but the staff is very friendly and willing to get any scuba gear you need from downstairs (where they store their inventory).

2021-06-30Not sure why the ranking here isnt better. They are super helpful for in store visits, make no attempt to upsell and in fact steered me items in the past that have been cheaper but better fit for purpose. I did return one item (because I changed my mind on it) and there were absolutely no issues. Despite living nearby Ive also ordered items while on holiday and they arrived quickly with no problems. Highly recommended.

2021-08-22I wouldn’t give them any stars if I could. The absolute WORST online company I’ve ever dealt with. First they sent me the wrong item. But they wouldn’t send a replacement, until they had received and processed the return. So it took close to 2 weeks and many emails, until they shipped out the replacement. By then, I’d already left on my dive trip, without this item I had wanted to take. When I finally received the replacement, it was once again the WRONG item. It was also over $60 cheaper, than what I originally ordered. Now these scammers want proof of everything (including shipping packaging????), so they can ‘investigate’. I just want a refund of the difference in price (since I will not be sending back the item this time, it’s not worth the inconvenience. But all they will be getting at this point, is a chargeback from my credit card company. The total incompetence is mind blowing. STAY AWAY.

2021-05-02Awesome scuba store. This place was recommended by my scuba instructors and after visiting I can see why. Staff are incredibly knowledgeable and they have a large selection of everything. We needed help with fit and product recommendations and were very pleased. We will definitely be back again.
