I wanted to give 4.5 stats because the food was great. The service was spectacular and the ambiance was scenic and relaxing. Celebrating my spouses bday we decided to sit out side alongside the marina at this restaurant. The reason I chose not to score 5 complete stars is because the staff would talk over my place setting with their mask down. Which Im not comfortable yet with the no mask required lift. But if you are looking for great food, great ambiance and exceptional service then this is the place to visit. Its a 5 for most. We visited around 1pm on a Friday and no wait or crowd.
Reserved an outdoor table for my family celebration of 12 and the restaurant was amazing. Food was delicious and affordable, staff and manager was accommodating even though some of my family members were being extra. I appreciate the effort they put into out special day and will definitely recommend for a regular outing or a special occasion. Maria was our server and went out of her way to make my family happy. Thank you seashore!
First let me start off by saying I called the restaurant SEVERAL times to make sure they had outdoor dining. The young lady was so nice and patient every time I called. When we arrived, they were so pleasant and greeted us with a smile. They took our temperature and info which was expected. Once we were seated they gave us complimentary bread, butter, olives, cheese, mushrooms and red pepper in a platter. So cute! The portions that were given was amazing! Our waiter was super funny, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable. I could not ask for a better place to take my BFF out for dinner to.
Service and the bread were excellent. Those were the only good parts. I had lobster bisque soup, there were absolutely no chunks of anything in it, just creamy soup, hardly worth the 9.95 for it. I had a 1 1/4 lobster that was supposed to be $30 (they charged me $40) but it was bland and wasnt even worth the original price. Hubby had the scallops, they were tasty but werent seared and were drowned in a mediocre sauce. Music playing was all 80s which is a very specific genre and not appropriate for a dining experience. Sad, this place years ago used to be good. I will never come back, there are plenty of other choices on the island that are far better!
So let me give you the tea about Seashore...The food... Delicious. The ambience... PicturesqueThe staff... Lovely but they dont take any mess, so come correct. The portions... Youre going to need a to go bag.The bartender... Heavy-handed.There is a reason theyve been around 100 years. You wont regret it.
Great atmosphere and Great service. Celebrated my 60th birthday with fam. Waiter even offered to take pics- he was nothing short of amazing. I ordered the shrimp and chicken parmigiana/ found it to be a little too bland for my palette- my pina colada was also too sweet ( just my opinion) the Antipasto appetizer however gets a definite 👍🏽 thumbs up!!
Plenty of parking, valet available. Informal atmosphere Excellent, friendly, attentive service from the moment you walk thru the door. Food was excellent quality, and delicious, and the drinks, honest. I would have given it a fifth star except for the price but hey, its seafood! When was that cheap? The portions are very generous and, if I had paid attention, there is a six dollar something sharing charge which includes, as I recall, a salad. Had I known all that from the outset, I would definitely have shared, in which case they would have had their fifth star and I would have rated them only moderately pricey. Cant beat the location though, salty views and you can take a little driving tour while youre there. I would definitely go back.Give yourself a treat!
Top of the line seafood and service. Everything served was absolutely delicious. Loved the relaxed set up of the waiting area and the spaciousness of the tables. All the guests were evenly separated and not feeling too close in proximity. Cleanly and sanitary environment.
The food was okay the service wasn’t near perfect, we had one server than they Switched the new server was much more accommodating by getting us the essentials for our meal and even cleaning off the table. She was so nice. Prices don’t match the quality of the food or servers. Wish we had a better experience but the second server like I said was much more accommodating.
The food was great the customer service was AMAZING!!!! Not once did I have to wonder where my waiter was. I would definitely visit this restaurant again. They bring you bread, corn bread, cheese, olives, sweet red peppers, and mushrooms while you wait. They also have a nice drink variety.
Very disappointing food. We came here for a farewell dinner for family members. The service was good, almost overeager - taking away plates before we finished eating. The waitress was nice and attentive. We ordered the surf and turf, ribs were terrible and fried shrimp were stale. The steak that was ordered medium was served extra well done. Very overpriced as well for what we received - 60$ for three fried shrimp that were stale and half a rack of ribs that were tough and inedible. Family members had broiled sea platter and shrimp newburgh which they liked. But still too expensive for the kind of food that we were given.
Our server Aldolfo was absolutely amazing. He was very friendly, attentive and even taught us some spanish!!!!! When I return, I dont want any other server but him, thats how great he was. The food was also good. The clams was sooo delicious. It was the best clams Ive ever had. This was my first time dining at this restaurant and I will definitely return.
This place has been consistent with the service and food for a long time. The food is fresh and the service is quick and efficient. Quantity is good lots to take home if you cant finish, pricey but well worth it.. great to go in the summer hours, Family friendly atmosphere.
I love this place! My family and I frequently visit this restaurant since I was a baby. Its usually a group of us so we order the big feasts. We ordered 2 feasts last night for 5 adults and there were still food left over to take home. The seafood is very flavorful and goes perfect with a small dip of butter. The drinks taste great and definitely has that kick! The service is great and they always remember us no matter if we miss a year or a month. Would definitely recommend and continue to visit.
There was 6 of us who went out for brunch Sunday 3/28 and 3 out of 6 of us were so so disappointed. One person had fried calamari and had to send it back as it was tasteless. Another person had the fried jumbo shrimps which when they came I was so excited to get into them and when I did they were blind and tasteless. The salads salads and cheese platter was good. Drinks were fine and the amount of money that we spent it will never ever happen again at Seashore as each one of us had 2nd/3rd times at this restaurant and this brunch was why...WE are done..
Massive portions. Great views. Relaxing place. Great service. New England came chowder was great. Calamari was OK but a massive portion. Bread and cornbread were great appetizers as well. Seafood was great and portions were outrageous. A bit pricey but worth the experience.
I visited Sea Shore four weeks ago and gave them five stars for the food. This past weekend we visited for take out and was highly disappointed. My partner and I have been going to the Sea Shore restaurant for years. Weve bragged to friends and family about how wonderful the food is, but unfortunately the quality of the food we ordered this time has gone down tremendously and the prices have hit the roof!We ordered the fried flounder and it was dry, no seasoning and basically inedible! Please Sea Shore get back to where you used to be, or we will be looking for a different place for our seafood... Unfortunate.
Had a fabulous Fathers Day celebration at the Seashore. It is truly a wonderful place to eat. There were 6 of us, and every plate of food was different and delicious! No complaints at all!! The service was great and the fresh food (steak, ribs, shrimps, clams, halibut, red snapper, jambalaya, cornbread, salads, appetizers, were the bomb!!!!
This is my absolute favourite place to go to on City Island. My go to dish is the baby lobster tails with rice and house salad. The servers are always on point and the drinks as tasty as can be. Never have I ever been disappointed when visiting this amazing restaurant! I assure you, you wont either! There is valet parking available too. If you receive great service, show your servers appreciation. BTW for those that dont know, lobster bisque doesnt have any chunks in it. Lol I read someones review complaining that there werent any in theirs. And just because the parking is free, you should still tip the valet, js.This place isnt the least expensive to dine at, but you get what you pay for sometimes in life.
Their back deck has always been beautiful. They expanded it a bit. Now you enter through the back. They take your temperature on your hand. Every server is wearing a mask. Tables are 6 feet away from each other. Their service super friendly as always. Their food always amazingly delicious and fresh. Sunday at noon is just perfect!
Appitizer: had the Lobster Bisque. It was very tasty, lobster ravioli on the other hand needed some flavor.Entrée: Crab and Skirt Steak. Steak was a nice cut. Maybe too thick yet was ok, it also needed a little salt and pepper but crab was tasty and fresh.Service was solid old school server. Pleasant and attentive great time was had.
My first time eating there, I did not like at all. Staff were nice enough and yes attentive. They were constantly asking if we wanted something else, if all was ok, water replenished, valets were speedy. The food however was extremely disappointing and unappealing. I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo, over bed of spinach. It was warm, not hot. I could see the oil from I dont no what part of ingredients around the perimeter of my food. The dish literally looked like they propped the shrimp, tail up, on top of spinach then tossed cheese in gobs and alfredo sauce willy nilly. I ate 1 shrimp and had it wrapped up in doggy bag to take home cause I was not going to toss $40 away. Speaking of, I think it quite overpriced for the sub-standard food.
You should see the surprise I had on my face when I opened the container!!!! 1st thought in my head, “They seriously charge me $50 for this little piece of fish ain’t even that bigger than a 16.9 fl oz bottle a water!!! I should have gone either Sammy’s or some Chinese spot instead to get my money worth!!!” Couldn’t even share my food because this meal appeared to be an appetizer instead. One star because the food taste good and another star because the take out customer service was nice.
We were a party of 6 at 5 pm on Saturday March 5. Suffice it to say food and service was excellent. We had not been to City Island in quite a few years and took a chance on the Sea Shore. City Island is known for their fish and for large portions, but portion size does not matter if the quality is not good. I am happy to report that the meal was perfect from the huge cold seafood platter including whole lobster for the table, and the whole grilled snapper, stuffed snappers, and fried fish platters clear through to the Juniors Cheese cake and other delicious desserts and coffees. If you like cocktails, they have quite an extensive menu of designer drinks. We are wine people, but I can confirm that their house Cabernet, Pino Grigio, and Savignon Blanc were all very good. Plan to be there for a while. Service is not slow...it is paced. There is a lot of food and they allow you plenty of time to enjoy it! Sorry I did not take pictures so that you could see the feast.
I was extremely disappointed with the food . My brother wanted to go here because its his favorite restaurant i normally go to lobsterhouse. They brought a plate of mushroom cheese olives the mushrooms had no taste . They brought cornbread and bread the cornbread was burnt . We ordered food my plate was ok but my sis had the scallops they tasted fishy and where brought out in a large plate in sauce. (WHY) The sauce over powered the plate . My brother ordered steak medium filet mignon. They brought the steak it was over cooked and it didnt look like a filet mignon (waiter oh they cut it like that ) why would they ruin the filet mignon (been to many steak houses and this is a insult to a good piece of meat let me rephrase expensive meat . Brother please remake it and dont cut it . Why they made it raw and cut it again . The waiter didnt care wasnt apologetic but as a waiter he didnt do much the water boy came around once . Also I brought food for my boyfriend salmon dinner he didnt like it had no taste so I gave him the other half of my food I left half of steak and crab legs the other half of my steak was raw .The bill was 450.00 they charged him 30 dollars for a little lobster his order should have been free he didnt get to eat . Never again will I go here . I have 100x better service in lobster house and they fix any errors they make . The waiters especially work hard to please you and that tip.
The place was clean and beautiful/service was wonderful... Sea food dishes were great.... Our waiter was pleasant and very attentive. Enjoyed the drinks 🍹🍸 The only draw back for me was the baked potatoes... they were too overdone, or seems like they were baked for awhile and then reheated .... but overall our party of six had a good time and thinking of going back again... 🥂
I loved the outdoor seating. It was a beautiful afternoon with a beautiful view. The service was good. Felix our waiter was very nice. The clam chowder was my least favorite. However the seafood Newburgh was delicious. The lobster roll was good. The baby back ribs were soft and delish. The filet mignon and king crabs were excellent. Too stuffed for dessert although i ordered tiramisu.
Its a seafood bonanza on City Island and Sea Shore certainly serves it up with their best. All the added (complimentary) extras such as the bread, mezze and salad bump up the prices so my advice is go for a large format and skip appetizers unless you are with a ravenous group. There is an old warm charm about this place and the servers have been using their jokes for a lifetime but overall it is a fun experience. Valet service provided, expect a wait for outside seating. Giant Snow Crab legs was the highlight.
My wife, her sister and I were there to have lunch and celebrate my sister-in- laws birthday. Our meals were quite delightful and tasty, the wait service was on the ball, even the lobster roll salad sandwiches we took to go were gratly done. The atmosphere of the entire restaurant was a comfortable one, clean, beautiful decor, and a nice view of Pelham Bay. Although it drizzled a bit, overhall it was a great experience and a wonderful time.
Crab legs came cold because they werent fresh. Mussels and clams were super dry with the beards and grit still in the shell. Generic, over priced frozen, reheated seafood. The $15 margaritas were okay. 2 people for lunch was $150+, we should have been impressed, we were not. View was nice. Our waiter and 2 other people we asked for assistance did not speak English and just kept repeating yes.
Attentive friendly staff, COVID safe, beautiful view (highly recommend the back deck as many other reviewers have). Best part was the freshness of the food. I ordered a dozen raw clams, and I swear it was like they just came off the boat: briney, juicy, tender; just delicious. This place is slightly on the pricey side, but you can’t complain about paying for quality.
Me and y family created this tradition of going to this place every December 31 to wait for the New Years. I had never been disappointed with the level of this food. Private parking with valet parking. And a very nice place. The food is really good and the prices even better.
This gem is right in the water, which makes for great sundowners and late afternoon dining. Came here with family to celebrate my birthday and it was a lovely time. Their drinks are strong and the food is good. Portions are large so Sharing is an option. Our server must not have been in the mood that day but his busser covered and made up for his shortcomings. I think the bussers name was Edward, who was delightful and we appreciated the effort he put in to making our experience what we wanted. They even gave me a crown for my special day, which is always fun. Had clams oreganata, crab legs and mussels diavolo with linguine. All delicious. The bread at the start will always be my downfall. I ate too much! Overall, a solid choice when dining al fresco on City Island.
Loved this place... We were planning to go to a different restaurant on the island but they seemed extremely slow to open their parking lot and after driving around the block 5 times and 20 minutes after theyre claimed opening time...we decided to try another place. I would say that we went into this place cold as we had never been there before. The access to the parking lot was extremely easy and the valet parking guys had things moving along with no delay. There was a short line to get in (right at opening) but if we stood there for 12 minutes Im probably overestimating! We had our choice of seating and picked a wonderful spot on the deck with a beautiful view. The wait staff was in my opinion impeccable. The bread and water and other condiments appeared out of nowhere in a rapid fashion and the waitress was not long behind. The drinks were delicious and the food was cooked to perfection. I had the prime rib and a lobster tail and it was absolutely delicious. The wife had a Filet Mignon which was also delicious. The portions were healthy and our waitress Elizabeth really made the day with her awesome attitude and attention to detail.I can say for sure that not only will we go back again, but the next time we will bring friends. Thank you guys for the awesome experience.
I have been to many of the restaurants on City Island but here. The service and food was beyond exceptional, came here with my mom after a long day at the spa and we was so happy to see that the takeout was completely empty compared to the other fast food joints!! Edward was sweet and a great worker my mom was happy for her birthday. The food was fresh and HOT, and the drinks were strong! Definitely worth the $$$ we are already planning to come back 🥰🥰🥰🥰
If youre looking to enjoy the finest in seafood fare, theres no better place to visit than the Sea Shore Restaurant. Upon arrival you are greeted by the parking valet for your free, courtesy parking. If you made dinning reservations than you are just moments away from enjoying a delicious seafood dinner. Dinner reservations are recommended if you are planning a weekend visit. The menu boasts a nearly endless selection of surf and turf choices that will satisfy any craving you might have. Facial masks are required and social distancing safeguards are practiced. If you are looking for budget-friendly dinning, come by yourself. If you are dinning for two, come strapped with cash--sometimes you just have to splurge to enjoy a great seafood meal. Service is excellent and the restrooms are well maintained. Check them out and be sure to bring an appetite as the portions are large.
Its COVID time and therefore, no indoor dining. There is take out and a nice patio for sit down dining. There is valet parking. On a Saturday at approximately 7pm the parking attendant said its about 45 mins wait. It turned out to be no more than 20 mins. The seating had adequate spacing, all staff wearing mask, sanitizer all around. Diners have to enter wearing a mask or one given 😷. Paper menus. Though they were very busy, the service was impeccable! The complimentary platter was missing the mushroom and upon asking, it was quickly served. Steam spinach was not served with our meal and again upon inquiry was quickly served. Our meal was DELICIOUS! Servers great attitude made the difference 👍👍👏. Generous portions and a manageable price range 💲💳.
The location is nice. Broiled seafood is good. Alfredo was bland, fried fish was bland, drinks were really heavy on the alchohol...so much so that after adding 12 oz of pineapple juice it was STILL too strong. But for $15 - $20 I guess its worth it if youre a heavy drinker, I didnt like it. Wouldnt go back, food overpriced for the taste (Im from the south though, Louisiana/Texas and we like food seasoned lol especially if Im paying $40 for some pasta) portions are great! Service was great!
Absolutely amazing food and service! You are welcomed with a plate of delicately seasoned hors doeuvres and a fresh roll of bread. Theres also a nice cube of cornbread. Both are served with butter on a carving block. I had the swordfish with crabmeat, which was cooked to perfection and was outstanding! My wife had the stuffed flounder with crabmeat. As per her reaction I think she enjoyed it. We were there celebrating her birthday, so the tab ran high. Expect to spend a minimum of $100. Worth every penny. I recommend dining outside so you can take in the gorgeous views of the Long Island Sound. Picturesque views of bobbing sailboats and romantic sunsets. Hands down the best restaurant on City Island!
Absolutely brutal food for outrageous prices. I ordered a steak med rare and it came well done then waited 15 minutes for them to check on my table and they replaced the steak with a RARE steak because they didnt want it to be too done for me... so they dont know how to cook a steak and still charge $50 for it. The manager was nice and apparently the risotto was good, but I would never go back.
Food was good. Service left a lot to be desired. They threw the food at us, bringing entrees before we even started the salads...kept wanting to remove that famous cornbread and mushrooms and olives when we wanted to keep them. And the real kicker was the waiter couldnt be bothered to split the checks for 2 couples, apparently he never heard of such a thing. And this was all in Sept. on a Monday night, not a weekend night, like the place was practically empty. If youre looking for a relaxing, stress free enjoyable dining experience, this isnt for you.
Its a tradition of ny family and I to go to Sea Shore restaurant once year. Especially now that some of us no longer live in NYC. Tonight was ok! I say that because I felt rushed by the bus boy. Didnt even finish eating and he started cleaning our table. We were very annoyed. Unacceptable customer service. Get it together Sea Shore!
Was here to celebrate a birthday. There are different seating options by the water. Our waiter was wonderful, attentive, and polite. The food was delicious, apps were so big we couldn’t finish our entrees, which were huge. The drinks were pretty good but a whisky sour will not be in a whiskey glass.
Yes, 5 stars! Yes there are many restaurants in City Island...we have been to the majority of them. Some are good and priced well, some are horrible and over priced! My mother in law introduced us to Seashore 3yrs ago, and my family has been going there ever since. We celebrated my Husband’s 50th Birthday dinner there, we had 9 ppl in our party, the waiter was very helpful and patient. The food never disappoints! Always super fresh and extremely tasty. They gave us tons of sides family style, and we were very happy with everything including the drinks! I highly recommend Seashore Restaurant at City Island especially because they’re lunch special is awesome!!!
The twin Brazilian lobster tails had a smell and taste like ammonia....not good! The antipasta appetizer portions were much smaller as well as the king crab legs. $200 plus bill for two, sad to say we were not happy with the quality or quantity. Although, the service was excellent! Been patronizing for years but will not return.
Visited here, the food is simply wonderful and the service was outstanding. Best broiled snow crab legs and baby lobster tail combo dinner I have ever had, and I consider myself a sea food expert. Fantastic antipasto, salad w/ baby shrimp and warm breads too. Delectable New England clam chowder also. Warm towels w/ lemon to freshen hands after dinner was so nice. Dinners have large portions, a little pricey (seafood is expensive) however well worth the money spent and as I said large portions given. One last thing our waiter Edward was so professional and attentive to us, we have had him before and its always a pleasure to see him. This is our Go To spot, we love this place and its a City Island treasure nothing like looking at the marina and water while having a great and satisfying meal. (5 Stars)
Absolute worst dining experience Ive had in the city in the past 10 years. It started with calling to make a reservation. The hostess wasnt sure what to do. Then I heard her ask someone internally if they take reservations for the outside. The person said no.We arrive 10 minutes later. Our whole party of 3 checks into the hostess stand. The hostess completely disregards us and waves a single woman to the front of the line to add her name to the list for outside. They are a party of 3.I then point out to the hostess that we were there first. I watch her write my name above theirs on the wait list.We all go to the bar (their party of 3 and our party of 3). After 20 minutes, as promised, a table opens up for outside. They take the other party of 3 before ours. I asked the hostess why she took their party before ours and she replied that party had a reservation. I reminded her that, according to our first conversation on the phone, they dont take reservations for outside. She literally told me to take that up with up with the person who took their reservation. As if I would somehow know who that is.20 minutes later, we check on the status of our table. Its not ready, so we ask to speak to the manager to see what is going on. The hostess blows us off and tells us that the manager is busy and wed have to wait 10 minutes. Finally the managers come down, dont let us finish our story, interrupt us at every turn, and show a complete display of apathy when concern and compassion was required. We were ready to drop a lot of money here on bottles of wine, appetizers, surf & turf, etc. but our experience was ruined so close to the beginning that we didnt even make it to the table. Theres no way to going to spend $60 on surf & turf in a restaurant where the managers gaslight us and dont take us seriously.I would recommend never spending money in this place. They have a great location, but that often means the rest of the experience isnt worthwhile. That is absolutely the case with this restaurant. An absolute nightmare. Avoid at all costs.
This place has an exceptional view of the marina, but thats the only selling point. The food is wayyy overpriced and not tasty. I was with a party of 15 so there were a variety of dishes floating around the table, and no one was blown away by anything that was ordered. Honestly, the dishes at Red Lobster are tastier than here, and half the price. The best tasting item I had all night was a baked potato. The drinks were strong, but for a total bill of $600 Id rather be able to say that the food was good. It was not.Dont look to satisfy your appetite here.
Ugh I’m disgusted. The food is way over priced for the quality they are offering. Empty restaurant on a Wednesday evening.I ordered the baby lobster tails, scallops and shrimps. My food was disgusting and old. My partner ordered the grilled salmon, it was unbelievably horrible. He had me taste it to make sure it wasn’t spoiled. My grandmother said her fish stuffed with crabmeat had no flavor. We had ordered 2 of those. I’m disappointed. To top it off. We were so disgusted with the food but happy with the service. Adolfo our server was very kind at first. Towards the end I was surprised. We gave him a $30 tip based on how nice he was and he had the nerve to return to our table and exceed more tip. Talking about it wasn’t enough and he has to share it with the bartender etc. Since when is the tip mandatory?! The food came out to $370. Nasty overpriced food.Never ever going again or recommending to anyone. I will make sure to make a PSA on my IG FB TikTok with my thousands of followers to warn them of this place and of you Adolfo! You had a lot of nerve coming back to our table after we payed and were on our way out to ask for more tip! And the worst part is that we gave it to him.
We visited this establishment on a regular. We like the outside deck to more than anything especially during Covid. Yesterday, we celebrated our 15 year anniversary and was beyond disappointed with the service and check, we gave $ away. For a party of 2 we spent $304 for our meal. starting with the appetizers, the oysters didnt taste fresh; they were not good. The Fried Calamari was like chewing gum and not seasoned. The Alaskan King Crab legs was delivered to the table without a bib, Bowl and the cracker. BUT, they were good. The porterhouse steak was cooked not according to my asking it was well well done disappointing. The food was dropped at the table, after about 7 minutes we called on our cell phones to the establishment to ask for our server to return to the table so we can share our concerns. He came out shortly, and ordered another steak that was cooked little bit better and by the time it came to the table we were ready to go. The Porterhouse was a bad piece of meat that was not seasoned at all. They didnt offer to take anything off the bill. None of the food was seasoned. Never going back. What a way to spend your 15 year wedding anniversary and gift money to a restaurant #nocustomerservice
We dined here for my niece’s Sweet Sixteen. Great ambience and plenty of seafood choices! Drinks were good. We sat outdoors with a wonderful view of the river. Menu is a bit pricey, so come with at least $100 per person to be on the safe side. Great outside deck for taking pictures with boats in the background.
The view from the outside seating is beautiful, especially if you are out during sunset. The water and the breeze coming off of it during the evening is delightful. The food is great. Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is bc the air conditioning wasnt working very well inside and the bugs kinda did a number on me on the outside.
I have always loved this restaurant. On 7/31/21, My family had a birthday celebration for my mother. As usual, the staff was accommodating. As soon as I walked in they took the birthday cake. And put it away. My family was able to gather in a seated area. Even though our reservation was for a set time. They patiently waited for ever member of our large party to arrive. They took care of everything. They even provided candles and giving out the slices of cake. My mother had a fabulous time. The food was delicious. The sangria was on point. And the service excellent. We will definitely have another family gathering. Oh side note, they have the best water view. If your looking for a romantic location. This is it! Thank you Seashore for an awesome experience!
Nastiest food I ever had. I wish I could leave 0 stars. The manager said I should have asked got extra seasoning...$214 later he shrugged his shoulders and said sorry and walked away when I told him Id pay for my food but explained how disappointed I was in my under cooked room temp calamari. Eat here at your own risk. I should have just paid for my drinks and left when I saw the girl above who said GROSsSSSSSS my fault . I feel sick now. I cant believe even their ranch dressing is nasty. The manager said its new England style so its not very seasoned. Idk what that means but he said next time... I said there will definitely NOT BE A NEXT TIME.
Sorry this review is late. I last visited this establishment back in Father’s Day 2021.I have a few notesJohn the hostess person is EXTREMELY RUDEHowever, Jasmine, Debby and the owner/manger John were AMAZINGthe bartender was great tooo!Food is great too. I highly recommend!
I love everything about Seashore during a weekday. They have great ambiance, great food, great drinks and great service. Its a go to dinner experience for me when I want to go to City island for sea food. I enjoy sitting by the water, the back dining room with the full glass windows and at times to watch sporting events in the stone designed bar (reminds me of bar designs in the Catskills, relaxing, rustic, support socialization and casual). My only suggestion is to avoid the weekends only because it draws a crowd and the long wait or interactions with the crowd may ruin the dining experience. During the week the ambiance is wonderful.
Sorry sea shore for taking one star. iwas there this saturday taking my daughter n husband as a customer of sea shore for many years, still will continued patronicing the restaurant. but saturday there was n incident did not call manager since my relatives say no,but one of you busboy, came to our table to clean up scrapping bread crums from table ,no of goodmanners, since we have not yet finish our meals.we left annoy, they wanted coffee, dessert, hope nest time will be better, sincerely.RAFAEL ROSARIO
This place was horrible, I’d give it -5 stars if I could. The food was tolerable. The customer service was terrible, nasty, absolutely repulsive. I ordered a drink, and the garnish was missing and it tasted off, when I asked the waiter to fix it, he said “you’re too drunk to know what it tastes like.” This happened about an hour ago.
The good: portions are large, and seafood is freshThe meh: service is mediocre at best. When we asked for clarification of menu items, it seemed like our server had no idea what the dishes were. Additionally, some of the water cups smelled like unwashed sink water...ick
Been here a few times over the years and while the view is wonderful I always felt the prices were a little too exorbitant for the overall quality of food but it wasn’t awful by any means (3 stars). Went here last 4th of July and from the minute I pulled into the valet lot it was immediately sketchy vibes. Was immediately reprimanded by the valet guys for “pulling into the wrong lane” despite having no choice due to there being police activity on the sidewalk in front of the establishment. Then I was scolded again for trying to enter the back of the restaurant with outdoor seating (which was status quo the last time I was there). Felt rushed by the waiter immediately who had somewhat of a coy attitude. At first I thought it was a language barrier but, no, it wasn’t. They skimped out on the intro formality appetizers (six olives, dried out mushrooms, a soggy depressing red pepper, 5 cheese cubes, dried bread, and about a 2 inch piece of corn bread). Also, they no longer include baby shrimp in their house side salads or give you a complimentary bean salad! The fish and chips were dry AF with the batter being burned and flaking off (fries were definitely straight out of the freezer at restaurant depot). The shrimp parm literally tasted like mulch and smelled like the gardening department at Lowe’s. And, no that’s not an olfactory or gustatory hallucination. The busboys must’ve been on some sort of mission because they’re ready to rip the food out of your mouth mid chew. THEN you get wait for the check while the oblivious waiter decides to charm another table of booze fueled customers because he sees $$$$ in their eyes. The cherry on top? They refused to honor a $100 Visa gift card to put towards their overpriced food! Think twice! I’ll definitely be putting this place on the back burner for a while as this was not a good dining experience from start to finish. Your mileage may vary.
This restaurant takes advantage of being the first place off the bridge when entering the island. They grossly overcharge on all the items. The quality of those items wasn’t worth the price. The fried calamari was $18. The mozzarella sticks were $13. Most entrees were at least $30 and the interior restaurant smelled bad. Salad was sad a lumpy and served with a side of canned baby shrimp. CANNED. On top of all this a shading umbrella at the outdoor dining area went flying, hit several patrons, and then the manager was rude when a gentleman complained. Truly disappointed. Won’t be returning.
Our experience yesterday and anytime we go is fantastic. Our server Jose was very patient and attentive. He went above and beyond for my family of 8. Having children in a restaurant can be very challenging at times but he did everything to make sure we were comfortable and they were happy. My Grandmother was celebrating her 27th (lol) birthday and that helped to make her weekend. I would definitely recommend to anyone family big or small to try it out.PS If the restaurant reads this please thank Jose and the staff that helped us we really appreciate everything that was done and the extras did not go unnoticed.
Pros; The food is awesome. Its my staple for City Island because of the great tasting food and its the first place on the right when your entering City Island from Shore Road. So easy in and easy out to head back home.Cons;Expensive &During COVID-19 I have been ordering takeout. Ive asked for the complimentary relish tray with marinated mushrooms for a few orders now. I have even tipped nicely which I normally dont do for takeout. Still have not received the extras that they give you when you dine in. :(

2022-05-26As we arrived to the restaurant we were first greeted by the friendly Valet personnel who directed our party inside the restaurant. The hostess guided us to the patio dining section that overlooked the marina. The dining atmosphere had a relaxed calming feeling during dinner. The food was tasty, the service of the staff was polite, friendly and efficient especially our server. You would not have known it was his first day of work. The waiting time for our food was somewhat long, but the food was prepared from scratch, which is understandable.Well done to the entire staff of Sea Shore Restaurant.Thank You for a memorable graduation dinner for my father.

2022-01-24Valet parking is available on the premises in the parking lot. Vaccinated cards are mandatory here. The staff is friendly, but not attentive at all. Besides giving us our food, the waiter never came to check on us to see if everything was okay. I could understand if they were busy, but it wasnt that crowded in there. I actually had to ask someone twice if they would bring us the check. The food was okay. The Fried Shrimp was very bland, and not seasoned enough. The drinks are good. Overall, it was okay.

2022-04-17Big group dinner with friends and family. Great spot for seafood. We ordered the seafood platter for 2. Its a lot of food and can definitely be shared with more than just 2. The wait staff was patient, friendly and prompt with taking orders and bringing out the food.

2022-04-10My wife and I had a great meal here. William our server was great and attentive. Valet parking but we grabbed a spot on the street. Maitre D and owner both asked us how everything was. Filet of Sole Florentine was excellent. Drinks were fresh and well made. Bread and antipasto plate given as soon as we sat down.

2021-09-10My friend took me to dinner here for my birthday. I love menus with combinations. You get a little of everything. I love seafood so this place was perfect. The staff was friendly and professional. The prices are decent and the food was perfect. I ordered two lobster baby tails, shrimp, and scallops. It was heaven. I would definitely go back.
