Nice neighborhood place with a chill vibe. I dont know if this is the case all day but we were there after 9 PM and the backyard had no music. Considering how incredibly difficult to find a place without any music in this town this place is a gem. Their food is superb too. I had the fried oyster po bo, it was fresh and delicious. French fries is a bit overpriced for its size so order two if youre thinking about sharing.
Really disappointed in this place... I live near by and finally went to see what it was all about. Perhaps my expectations were too high... Service at the bar was terrible, waited 15mn before one of the two bartenders finally noticed me even though I was seated in the middle with a nearly empty bar. Was asked for ID which he took and than held onto while going about stacking dirty glasses and serving another patron before even looking at my ID than asking my date for the same (Im 42yrs old mind you) and doing the same side work before saying sorry he was busy and can now serve us. Asked about ordering food and said something we couldnt hear execept he needed a credit card if we were ordering drinks and needed to leave the tab open for food. As it turns out the food has to be ordered yourself at the front door as there is no server... Thats fine, should make it clearer or perhaps I should have read about that before going, somehow I missed that. Thought it was a Seafood restaurant/bar. Was looking forward to some good food and drinks. Had a nice beer menu (written above the bar, though no hint of a menu). Beautiful Salt Water fish tank and simple outdoor seating and a few tables inside.Ordered the food, and left my phone number for them to call when it was ready to be picked up. Small Handcut Fries, Fried Clam Sandwich, and Fried Shrimp Basket, sounds yummy.Nope... the fries were more like wilted shoestring fries, small indeed, the Fried Clam Sandwich hardly had any clams, 90% fried batter bits! The fried shrimp.. yeah, Ive had better at a fast food place. Tiny, dried, shrimp that were probably sitting around for a while... all that and two Alagash White beers for almost $50.00.Really disappointing. Plus trying to get another beer (the saving grace) was near impossible as well... and not just for me, but other patrons too.Guess all in all... go there for socializing and the drinks (only had beer, whisch they had a nice listing of taps) but avoid the food and be prepared to wait and be ignored...The food wasnt worth the time to take a photo of... even had to go and get pizza right after...
I love this place! Total mermaid, nautical, pirate meets zen garden of a place. Inside, the bar has lots of great beer on tap and a cool aquarium. Outside, there’s a good amount of seating and tables... and a cute little stream and pond! Kids enjoy seeing nature (gasp!) while the parentals enjoy having a drink. If you’re lucky you can spot the turtle 🐢.
Bartender was incredibly rude and entitled. Became nasty with me and the person I was with because we didnt tip her 20%. Mind you, we gave her a $4 tip for two beers and two shots. A dollar a pour as is customary. There was also nobody in there which made it all the more mystifying.
Great sea themed bar with a lovely aquarium behind the bar and a wonderful garden in the back. There is a separate smoke section in the garden which you might notice from the non-smoking section depending on your tolerance for drifting cigarette smoke. The food is amazing, with smallish reasonably priced plates which are great for sharing.
A great local, a thoughtful beer selection, an amazing garden with koi (phase 2 open! But not with food yet!!!) Its magical. We used to live around the corner. When the kitchen reopens, the fried clams and fish tacos are delish with the chipotle mayo, fries skinny and crisp, the crowd is always friendly. Ive taken older, quiet kids (sorry and thank you). Luckily no one else with kids generally shows up. No Park Slope stroller brigade. (I love you, and I teach your children, have three kids, and need a place where I can have a Break 🖖🏻).Generally a bar-typical mixed aged crowd, depending on the night. Different vibe from trendier neighborhoods in BK. The musician owner is a mensch (hi Andy!). The music is never bad as a savvy crowd takes lead from him. Theres a salt water tank behind the bar that is a gem when we can sit there and admire it.Importantly, the outdoor street seating is couched in stacked cinder blocks, with carport tent, and is only three tables. Oncoming traffic is less worrisome than with a flimsy wooden thing. (Ive seen what parked cars take in Brooklyn, and Im not playing 😆).Go, drink, eat, be merry. (You can currently grab food at several places on 5th Ave and eat with drinks at Sea Witch. We did. Andy approved. 😁).
Have I died and gone to heaven? I just recently moved in down the block and finally stumbled me Irish arse in here on a whim.Approaching, the decor is unique and inviting. Throw in the classic music and western on the radio, sweet oval fish tank, anchor-style chairs and 6$ old fashioned cocktails and you have yourself an ace.Oh, got your attention? Thats right, 6$ old fashioned drinks, and thats not even happy hour. Were talking Saturday evening here. Beer drinker? Check out their nice list of craft brews on tap.Love nature and oxygen? Theres outdoor seating a plenty in their well cared for garden. Will definitely be back!
The great place with authentic atmosphere and awesome backyard. But how its possible that in the BAR you, guys, serve an alcoholic cocktail Bloody Mary only until 5 pm?! And what with the menu? No guac, not many options with tacos and burritos... You can do better, guys
The koi pond makes this place. On a hot day, drinking by the water is an experience that some can only have at the beach but here you can enjoy the sounds of trickling water with a beer in a laid back patio by the pond. The the pond is very well kept and has lots fish and turtles floating around. If your looking to get away from the city life for a few hours this is a place to do so. Theyve got a $9 dollar margarita that was recommended by the bartender but I went with the $4 can of Miller High life. The also have Busch on tap, something I never thought I would come across. Overall this was a pleasant surprise to find in a blue collar block in Brooklyn.
I dont know many bars that serve a big basket of shishito peppers and that alone made me love the place. Throw in the beautiful backyard and decent beer selection and you have a great bar. Prices were very reasonable as well and the bartenders were friendly and quick. Along with the peppers I got the fish tacos which were a bit overstuffed with cabbage(?) but pretty tasty. My girlfriend got a burger and fries which she really enjoyed, I thought the burger was just ok but she though it was great. Overall a great bar with a beautiful fish tank and a kitchen thats open late.
Not too expensive but the food was not very good. Sandwich I got was cold without much flavor. The bar itself was nice with some good beers. They have a nice outdoor garden I the back to enjoy your drinks. I would not come back for the food but would come back for a beer.
My favorite bar in New York City. Fresh seafood, incredible burgers, fries, and appetizers from the kitchen. The bartenders are always friendly, attentive, and not afraid to make you a custom craft cocktail on request. But of course theyll pour you endless Daily Rations if youre on a budget. Also, nautical themed frescoes on the wall, and a fish tank with live fish anchor the back bar. Beautiful.
Buy the food, at a inside walk up window. Buy drinks, at the bar. We both had the Veggie Cutlet Roll(deep-fried veg. patty of mixed vegetables, potatoes & indian spices on hot roti) and loved it. Pretty good selection of craft brew. Cool atmosphere. Neither person (food or bartender) was particularly personable, but neither were they objectionable.
Ive been to the Sea Witch a few times and the experience has always been nice. The staff was friendly, the drinks were good, yet despite my visits I havent been able to try their burgers which I have heard were great. I really like how chill the place is, but since it isnt very close to me, I dont get to go there as often as Id like.
Much like the depths of the open water, sea witch is full of mysteries and treasures just waiting to be found. They have a good counter as well as ample backyard seating. If youre just trying to introspect, or have a more private conversation, sit in the shadow of the aquarium and nurse something good!
As another reviewer stated the service was horrible. I waited at the bar with my CC in hand ready to order drinks and hoping to start a tab. I was chatting up a buddy while the bartender was waiting on another customer and thought I was next to be served. When I turned back she went to someone else. I figured its possible she didnt see me so I waited some more. She looked at me for a quick second and proceeded to take someone else. The bar wasnt even that busy. We noped the hell out of there right after. Sad because it looked like a nice place.
Im partial because Im only a few blocks away, but solid seafood, a cute backyard (Koi Pond) and nice bartenders. If they would turn the lights up I would be a regular. Theyve struck the perfect balance of never being too full or too empty and a nice place to spend a few hours solo or with a group. Bit of a nautical theme, but not to the point of being cheesy.
With a great rotating selection of craft brews and a backyard with a koi pond whats not to love? Oh, and did I mention that theres also a grill that does a solid cheeseburger and makes killer breakfast tacos with shisito peppers on weekends? The staff is always friendly, theres a real laid back vibe and the playlist always surprises me each time I stop in.

2022-02-23The best bar hands down in the Greenwood/Park Slope area. They truly care about craft beer and have constantly changing taps and their cocktails always hit the spot. I highly recommend the Santos. The kitchen menu is limited, but you cant go wrong with any of it, especially the schnitzel sandwich. Music is always great and the backyard is the perfect place to hang out during the warmer weather. Not to mention the nautical theme inside being so different from anywhere else

2022-05-06Really great aesthetic, with a quaint nautical theme and a vibrant aquarium right behind the bar. The outdoor seating in the backyard is fantastic, with an enclosed space that offers plenty of seating beside koi ponds and a carefully cultivated gardenscape. The menu is short and sweet, but I tend to appreciate a focused, good menu. I got a burger, and the shrimp, and both were fantastic. Drinks arent too expensive - at least not when compared to similar locations in Manhattan.

2022-03-20Really cool venue! The decorations are really cool. Drinks were good.Maybe Im getting old but I wish the music wasnt so loud. Why do bars blast the music? They dont even have a dance floor.

2022-03-17Was a nice spot for a quick drink. Was a bit loud - so maybe don’t choose this spot if you’re trying to catch up with pals. The margarita was crazy strong - could be a positive to some or a negative to others - it was a bit much for me! Very laidback / inattentive vibe. Love the fish tank and decor - super cozy and fun spot.

2022-04-17Great outdoor space, great cocktail menu, limited snack/food menu. When I was there around 3pm on a Saturday, they had already sold out of their veggie option for the day.

2020-01-12I was very happy to stumble across this place. The kitchen is open very late and the food is actually really really good. The bartenders were all very cool. The music in there is picked based on who is bartending so the first night I walked in it was completely different than the next and the last. Awesome fish tank to stare at while getting drinks. Besides the fact that people from New York go to this bar, because its in Brooklyn I think, its a nice bar. But the patrons are generally trash because people from there are rude and loud and think they own the block.

2021-12-28Good bar. There is a separate kitchen at the entrance you can order from. I really.like the nautical theme and the bar itself is quite beautifully in line with it.
