Sears Appliance Repair in other cities:
My ice masker is not working. The repairman arrived on time and decided the line the ice maker was frozen. Apparently satisfied that it was defrosted he left. He gave me his cell phone number. Hours after he left no ice had been made. I called. He said the ice maker would have to be replaced. I asked how much. He said he would get back to me in an hour.It was Friday night. I said it could wait until the next day, Saturday. It is now Tiuesday afternoon I have not heard from him. One star is too many but I do not have that option so I selected one.
Well, my repair experience was pretty awful. The high note numbers for thought:-About 1 month to repair my refrigerator, not the one week it should have been.-About 29 emails from Sears automated systems.-Several appointments requiring time off from work with technicians to find out the wrong parts are here or just never showed up.Basically we had a fridge with a slow leak that required what Im guessing was replacing a coil in the freezer section. Our first appointment was on 3/22 to which the problem was diagnosed, payment information was exchanged and parts were ordered. At this point I would say the service was fine. From there on it was pretty terrible. To start the experience I was unaware I was managing the part orders for Sears company. I kept getting cryptic emails from the Sears appointment system regarding parts affecting the appointment and to call the help line to confirm. Then I would call the help line to hope to find any information, and being told that the person on the line couldnt see it in the system. I would contact the phone number in the link and be repeatedly told I dont have that information at this time. At this point I was taken aback by how Sears really couldnt comprehend that with no repair order with parts list, no shipping tracking numbers, and not being informed that I was managing all this for them, that I really wasnt in a position to do anything. We really had no feedback loop with the techs from that point on, since they left their number with me and despite a few calls looking for tracking information or to just figure out what to do about this do-loop, I never received a call back. They just kept showing up to appointments scheduled by the Sears appointment system, just to find out the parts werent here. The story was the first part was apparently damaged in shipment, and despite Sears systems implication that the part was coming, it wasnt. Eventually while standing in my kitchen one of the techs needed to contact a secret Sears help line to find out it was in some limbo where the part wasnt delivered but wasnt being reordered. Eventually, another part showed up, but was the wrong part. After the part was apparently reordered I called Sears helpline again to which the operator told me there was no information and to call back later, and not to ask for her manager because they would tell me the same thing. Eventually I called back the helpline a couple of days later and for the first time in this disaster got the tracking information, and the refrigerator was repaired a week after that. Basically despite all of this no sense of urgency. To rub salt in the wound the repair technician left all of the shipment and repair garbage behind, but was sure to take the extra parts Sears sent that I had been storing all month.I called the Sears hotline to discuss the issue, actually to give them a chance to avoid me writing this review. Christine told me they werent going to do anything to make this up if the refrigerator was working. So basically my interpretation is as long as the fridge was fixed one day no problem, the timeframe it took and the level of service was irrelevant. All and all it took about 1 month to fix a refrigerator that Sears knew how to fix. Somewhere around week three the refrigerator really started to lose cooling capacity and I had to throw out $5000 of my wifes medicine. Not to mention I was storing all of these incorrect parts for Sears in my kitchen for a month, including while we were hosting Easter. Icing on the cake is during this time the loop ran with low refrigerant until there probably wasnt much left and probably affected the life of my compressors.
Received this Email Sept 21st. The HVAC tech . Sears selected and sent said the water heater was defective and needed replacement. I paid for the Sears Appliance Repair. Paid the deductible. Water heater still not working 3 months later. After taking time off of work to be here for repair man and too many phones call to count. Sears pointing fingers and giving my and wife and I an aggravating round around. Please let me know why doing business with you folks isnt a rip off and I should feel any way but disgusted.
I received my appliance check 4/20 by Eshire Service rep. Eshire did an outstanding check-up. This guy went out of hs way showing my wife and I to prevent any troubles. I have never witnessed such a throual clean up on filters and vents. Sears should be proud to have this person. Great work.Robert Rodd
Very professional and friendly service man! However, will NEVER buy any appliances from Sears Outlet store! Washer has been a nightmare from day 1. Changed out computer 3 Xs in a year and was told was not a lemon unless 4 calls in a year! All they wanted was for me to buy extended service plan!!! If I had a reliable appliance, IvwouI wou need an extension service plan!!!!
Very efficient and successful repair. The one thing that does need to change in Sears approach to repair is the time frame. To give customers a time window of 8 hours for repair is absurd! It should be broken down toma maximum of a four hour window. Customers shouldnt have to sit around for 9 hour wasiting for a repair man!
Sears has horrible customer service. I will never buy another item from sears. I took sears over a month to repair my 13 month old washer which I paid $800 for then they charged me $574 for repairs and the washing machine is still not fixed properly. The faster sears goes bankrupt. The better this country will be.
I have had several issues with the icemaker on my LG refridgerator . The repair guy that came out told me what he has told me before that this is not a high performing ice-maker, which I have told him previously and before that I already knew that. There are only 3 of us residing in this house and I do not require a lot of ice, but again reminded him that I am well aware of how this icemaker is supposed to work and produce ice as I am very familiar with how it has functioned while working in the past. He assessed the wires below the icemaker and while snapping the piece back in, the repair man accidently broke a small piece off of the plastic piece that snaps back in. I asked him to note that in case there was an issue in the future as a result. He said it wasnt a big deal and that it wouldnt affect anything. I then asked again for him to note it because if the crack worsened, I should not be held liable as I was not the one who cracked it and this should be noted on my warranty. He did not answer me. I told him that I take very good care of my appliances and his response was, Yeah thats what all of the customers say. I did not appreciate having him make me feel like the icemaker issue was my fault which it was not or insinuating anything other than me taking impeccable care of my appliances. He did end up ordering a replacement part for the cover for the piece he broke.
Called and scheduled an appointment, no one showed up and when I tried to explain that I had someone in the house renting it and needed it done ASAP they ended up scheduling my appointment for 15 days out. Did not care about their customer being stood up and would not make it right.
Chuck showed up on time and got right to work on my lawn tractor. He fixed the immediate problem and in the course of doing that, he discovered two more problems that he managed to fix using parts from his truck. He was fast and good. I couldnt thank him as I had to go chase some sheep that escaped,
Terrible Service! After not being able to locate a simple Kenmore motor coupling they were also unable to connect me to the local store so I could actually talk to someone that knows what is going on. I purchased the part at Adirondack Appliance where the service is with a smile.
Had 2 repairmen one for the washer and dryer who was outstanding...really checked out the machines and fixed problem that was a result of BAD INSTALLATION...this guy, unlike the installers knew what he was doing.Same thing with the refrigerator....INSTALLERS clearly did not know what they were doing...we even had them back and they were still clueless...this man knew exactly what to do...in and out in 5 minutes

2022-07-06Appointment was easy to make, tech showed up on time. He stated compressors were an issue on later models and there was a lawsuit. My compressor was still working and I asked if it could be a thermostat issue. Tech stated maybe, but did nothing to confirm issue. Of his time spent at my residence 95% of time was trying to sell me appliance insurance. If I wanted to wait for insurance to kick in in 40 days, I would only pay a few hundred dollars instead of the $1200 quote to fix today. Only tool he had was a screwdriver to take control board outer cover off. A lot of money spent for no answers.

2022-01-15Repairman was professional and polite but demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge on my brand (GE) washer. There was clearly a gasket shredded in the drum which is what I said when making the appt but this issue was not addressed. He unclogged the filter and gave me a quote if the problem was the motor, etc but obviously did not know what the problem was and clearly had no idea where the gasket material was coming from. I will no longer use sears repair for any future repairs. I paid 200 to have him remove hair from the washer filter and clean the dryer (leaving lint within the drum I had to vacuum out). Ive had this washer serviced before by them so they knew exactly what model it was and I would expect whoever they sent to actually know their way around my model washer.

2021-08-16The service guy who was assigned was on time, professional, thoughtful (wore booties on his feet, wore a mask) and knew exactly what to do. We had leaking at the bottom of the fridge due to a blocked freezer drain line (common occurrence) and he blew it out and then proceeded to defrost the freezer panel with a steamer. The entire job took about 30 minutes, but the cost was a bit high ($240!). That was not his fault, but I was very surprised. The service call cost $170 and then another $70 tacked on for taxes and whatever. Way too high, but Im glad our fridge is fixed.

2019-05-13I have spent over a 1000$ dollars on a Master Service Agreement for my gas boiler over the years. It began leaking and I called for service.Very pleasant service person came to repair it and said he needed to get a part. After finding that he did not have the right part on his truck, he said that they needed to go pick one up and would be back in 30-45 minutes. All good so far. Then they called and said that they were out of the part, had to order it, and would need to come back Friday to install it. All still okay, if kind of annoying, as you are given only an 8 hour window for when they will arrive. Then Friday they called and said that that part was not covered by the Master Service Agreement and I would need to find a plumber and pay to have it repaired. The part is attached to the boiler and I was told it was covered.I have paid for several years believing that I was avoiding big costs if something went wrong. It never had, and when it did , the Master Service Agreement was totally worthless.

2020-09-03My technician was very polite. My problem was this is the third time in 4 months Ive had to have a repairman come out to fix my fridge. This last time I had to go without a fridge for 5 weeks!! I had to have repairman out again. He left and my fridge wouldnt cool at all. Called Sears again.. after being on hold for an hour I was transferred to find out about replacing the fridge. 2 hours later I got through and was told I needed service technician to come back and verify it cant be repaired. Have to wait another 4 weeks. This is a joke!!! I havent been able to use my fridge 14 weeks since March 11th.

2017-07-02Our repairman was very efficient and called ahead with the updated arrival window. He worked very quickly and was on his way. My only suggestion is to have techs look at the service request before going out. Look up what possible solutions might be and make sure they have the most common parts for the repair. I understand some items are not common and may need to be ordered. Like our part that was no longer carried on the repair trucks. The. Perhaps they could have it ordered and available for the first call. He had to come back a week later because he didnt have the VERY tiny $12 part. Overall great experience. Would recommend sears coverage 100 times over.

2017-06-26The technician did a fine job. He immediately understood the problem (ice had built up in the back of the fridge and was stopping the flow of water, which then pooled in the fridge). He worked on it for a total of 50 minutes. There were no new parts necessary. I was charged $340. That is an outrageous labor fee for less than 1 hour of labor. From now on I am going to local repairmen. I registered a complaint at Sears. They said they charge by the job, not by how long it takes. Whats more, I did not get an estimate for how much it would cost prior to the technician fixing it. He said it was an easy problem to fix. At $340, I might have considered buying a new fridge (mine is 14 years old). Really disappointed.

2017-10-26The service call was good and services the purpose. This wash following the repair of a seal on the door you repaired. This service call was because the washer was not balanced, and wobbled a lot. The service man was nice, but said the washer needed to be leveled and they dont do that. The washer was balanced until the seal was replaced on the prior repair. I will try to manage this job myself, but it is very difficult when there is only myself to do it, as it would have been for the service man. After you sent two service personnel, the washer is better and I appreciate it very much.
