Great place for brunch! The menu is fun and novel without being too out there by accommodating traditional preferences. They offer an infused Belgian waffle which means theyll cook a cereal into the batter. I got mine with fruity pebbles. It was FANTASTIC. Please give these folks your business, its wonderful!
Super delicious food, I love all the fun options. I love coming here. Some of the servers could use a refresher on hitting their whole section before leaving for the kitchen. I understand its busy, but thats basic server steps. The servers are very friendly, just not very attentive to their tables.
3 stars = okay experience (pleasant staff, far too cold A/C) & okay food experience (the single $$$ plain pancake was tasty). we probably won’t be returning because it seemed that for a total of 45 dollars [of which $17 was a so-so tasting burger and a side of reheated fries] it would be worth it to buy grocer and have a tastier meal at home. That being said I respect their ethos and some of the food items our neighboring tables got looked great (cinnamon pancake thing?) so maybe it was just a lose-lose with the choices we made.
A few months ago, we sat at the bar and waited quite a while to get our drinks. The waitress/bartender took our food order and went about making flights. 45 minutes later, we still hadn’t received our food, the waitress/bartender ignored us the entire time chatting away with the other staff. We ended up leaving without receiving our food.We gave this place a “second chance” this morning. Place was busy and about a 15 minute wait. There were two seat open at the bar, so we sat down. The bartender informed us the kitchen is behind and it would be about 40 minutes from the time we put our order in… nope, not for eggs. This place was incredible before they moved. The service has taken a swan dive off a skyscraper and we will never go back. “No more chance” diner..
Phenomenal food! I ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes which were great, gf ordered the special which was apple strudel French toast. That was fantastic. Definitely will be ordering that next time. Kiddo got fruity pebbles pancakes which were all incredible. Will be going back for sure
First visit was perfect. Best toast and hash Ive had in a long time. Second time no issues. Third time here, issues. Was seated immediately. Waitress however never stopped to take our order in their section. Passed us about 10 times doing checks and dishes. Stopped and asked if we needed actual menus instead of the scanned menu but when we said we know what we want they still walked away. After 20 minutes i grabbed a waitress from another section after i saw them take an order of couple that came in 15 minutes after us to take our order. It happened to another couple that came in after them and they were making the same comments we were.Lost stars because of the service
Good food, cool presentation. If youre looking for crazy breakfast food no restaurant has the guts to serve, go here. They have stuff like a breakfast sandwich made from a donut, or from a cinnamon bun, and they have all sorts of fancy pancakes and french toast with fruity pebbles or cocoa pebbles on them. Chicken and waffles was great.
This place used to be amazing. Staff was friendly, food was delicious, and you didnt have to wait long for anything. Before you could easily be in and out within 30-45 minutes.I dont know what happened in the recent year, but there seems to be a disconnect and lack of charm that this restaurant used to have. Every time my husband and I come in, it takes 10-15 minutes to be seen after being seated, and another 30-60 minutes for food to arrive. What started as a joke of Ready to dine in for a few hours? became a normal occurrence. (Personal opinion) Has the place started going down hill after the owner went into real estate? The staff appears so worn down and tired all the time. I cant blame them when they appear to be overworked. Why is there only 2 servers on the floor during the busy weekend? Its difficult to sit and enjoy my meal when the staff looks so defeated and I feel so sorry for them. Its a shame. I really hope they hire more people and get that spark back.
Did not really care that I ordered money and spent $52 dollars. All of my food was cold! I ordered scrambled eggs and it was supposed to be two eggs I had one…the eggs were very runny! Scrambled eggs are not supposed to be runny or watery at all. I ordered a Belgian waffle with strawberry sauce and the sauce was cold and thick the bacon was not crispy. The home fries were very dryyyyyyyyyyyy with no seasoning…don’t try to call because they won’t do anything about it but hang up in your face…I asked if they had grits she told me no but the advertisement says they have grits and shrimp every Friday and Saturday! Corn beef hash taste like hamburger meat was mixed in with it! Not a good experience at all!! I asked to speak to the manager and her name is Alicia and she put me on hold and then hung up on me! That is not a way to do business at all. I’m disgusted and out of $52 dollars for nothing! People pay to have their food made right. I don’t even give them a star
Got breakfast here today with some friends. We ordered drinks and since two of us have out of state IDs, the waitress took them to the back to check them. She came back and told us they weren’t taking any out of state IDs today. We asked why and she said they just weren’t and asked if we would like to speak to the manager about it, so we said yes. The manager told us if they had any suspicion that our IDs were fake (they aren’t) they could refuse to serve us. We were simply asking why our IDs were denied and it felt very accusatory and rude. I understand they have to do their due diligence, but it was a little annoying after waiting an hour to be sat and then told we couldn’t be served. They told us we would need a passport to prove, wouldn’t even take a credit card as a second form of ID. We decided to stay and order food anyways since we already waited. I thought the food was fine, a little over priced for the portion size and quality, but it came out quickly. Don’t think I’d go here again for the price, we spent about 57 for three people, no alcohol and not including tip.
There was alot of talk about this place being fantastic. They forgot about our order. Other customers who were seated after us were getting their meal before us. My eggs were not cooked. Yoke was runny whites. It took a long time to get seated. Very busy place. I for one will not be taking the trip to eat here again.
Busy place, they must be doing well! We did wait a bit, probably understaffed like everywhere else so I dont hold that aspect against them, as our server was very polite and courteous. Id planned on the country fried steak but was informed they were out,so I kinda had to scramble to order something else on the fly, a breakfast cheesesteak, which wasnt bad but wasnt exactly what I was wanting either. Guess Id go back, maybe earlier next time.
Food was amazing!! Our service was terrible, I am personally a server, our server Jess was subpar. Would recommend the food but service was 1/10. Our food came out in a timely manner so hats off to back of the house, but front of the house needs serious work on being timely, as a guest we shouldn’t feel like we were forgotten about (several times)
This whole place is worth those 5 stars. The look of the place is very modern, yet cozy. The food portions are enormous for the price (wear your sweats, thank me later 🤣) The pancakes?? PHENOMENAL. The staff was fantastic, our hostess Emma was a trip! This place Rocks!
First timer and Ill definitely be back. Place is great. Super friendly people, very clean and the food was top notch.I witnessed a couple of instances where two of the waiters were compassionate and kind towards elderly patrons and someone whod accidentally knocked something off their table. That alone has me sold on the place.Stumbled upon Second Chance Diner because Dennys was temporarily closed - thank you Dennys!
When I received our check my breakfast sandwich was 3 dollars more and the corn beef hash was almost 2 dollars more. I asked our server but he sounded Ike he was saying a prepared speech. When I went to pay I didnt see him and a lady ( in a nasty tone of voice) said you have to pay your server. So as I proceed to go back to the table she just took the money. Not even a thank you. We had a ad experience about 6 months ago with the same lady but we decided to give it a second chance. Well that is our last time!
Never again… sat at the counter and sat there for 10 mins when the server talked to the bartender how much her feet hurt, had to eventually interrupt and ask if we could order. My waffle was cold, not even lukewarmNo butter and at that point was so annoyed and hungry just ate what I could and left. Worst service ever
The portions were very small - child size. For 57.00 I got a huge shopping bag that was light in food. Fried potatoes is what they call home fries. Onions not included, nor was it offered. When I spoke on this the staff did nothing to make it right. When we called about the food the staff kept hanging up. The corned beef hash was hamburger meat. Instead of 2 eggs, I got one. The staff and manager were unapologetic The manager, Alicia left us on hold and then hung up. They are unprofessional. No second chances with me. Never again! Im going to tell everyone on my FB page. Multiply that by 6000.
They have a unique menu. We decided to go more traditional breakfast, an omelette and an egg sausage sandwich bagel. Both came with home fries. The omelette was stuffed with all the fixings it came with. This was not a pansy omelette! The bagel sandwich was exactly what it said... kind of hard to screw that up(which they did not). And the home fries... grand slam! I ordered a second side of the home fries. The prices were very fair. We went on a Saturday morning around 10am. It was at full capacity by the time we left. Having one more server would have helped out, but the servers there were hard working and friendly and on top of it all. I will be going back.
This was my first time here. I was glad I was by myself because I was able to get a seat at the counter very quickly (larger groups were waiting about 20 minutes but hey thats Sunday brunch rush for you!). The food I ordered was amazing (and apparently the French toast special was served with a side of ice cream which was a pleasant surprise!).Every plate served to the people around me and that was carried out passed me looked and smelled amazing! They were slammed but the staff were still very friendly and attentive. Ill definitely go back.
Came in because we heard food was great. Waiter came up to us and told us there’s a 40 minute wait. I said oh wow there’s some empty booths. She stated “it’s called corona” pretty disrespectful! We walked out and drove to the m&t and deposited some checks and noticed the waiter come out for a cigarette.
First experience was today, and I can proudly say I am typing this with pains. Good pains! I am SO FULL and I have a whole nother meal for later! This will NOT be our last visit! The waitress was amazing, bless her soul for dealing with us LOL the food was incredible! Little to no wait time and they even called us to come in even though they closed five minutes after they called us. I was embarrassed because were not those guys normally, but they were so gracious. I started to lose faith in local businesses, being they turn us away and treat us like were bothering them at times, but these guys definitely redeemed my faith. Thank you all so so much for the wonderful and homey experience. If there are any Bloody Mary lovers out there, do yourself a favor and order their Ultimate Bloody Mary with your breakfast. You WONT regret it!!
The food is awesome! I had the pumpkin pan cakes and they were light and fluffy. The pumpkin flavor is fantastic and the spices just pop with every bite. I highly recommend Second Chance diner. Friendly staff and excellent service. I also had the blueberry buckle french toast which was a special and that was excellent. It was 2 slices of texas toast covered with blueberries and topped with a streusel crumb topping and icing. It melted in your mouth. So good! They hope to make it permanent on their new menu they will have when they move to a larger location. I also highly recommend the pumpkin french toast. Loaded with pumpkin and a cinnamon flavor. If you like homefries, they have the best around. They are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and not greasy. The portion sizes are big. You will not leave there hungry. It is just an all around great place to go. They serve breakfast and lunch. You have to try it if you havent yet. You will not be disappointed.
The food was amazing, the best poutine fries Ive had gravy was so good and the cheese curds were perfect. My husband got the fruity pebbles pancakes and they were a flavor explosion and something we never had before that we needed to have. So good. The place is awesome inside and out. The staff was amazing and very covid friendly. Definitely will be going back again and might try their breakfast poutine. Such good food!!
Got there at 11:30, was told there would be a 30 minute wait. After about 45 minutes of waiting we finally got the call to come in. Came in, places our order and then waited about an hour and 15 minutes to actually get our food. Once we got it, we noticed it was incorrect and my toast was cold so the butter that was applied to it didnt melt, which made it kinda gross. Also, they deep fat fry the home fries - kinda strange but they were edible. The food overall isnt bad, but worth a two hour wait? Nah.
Amazing place to get breakfast! They gave me my order exactly as I wanted it and it was delicious! The hostess was welcoming and kind and sat us as soon as a table was available. Our server was really nice too! Due to the small size of the restaurant, there was a wait, but thats to be expected anywhere on a Sunday morning. The fruity pebbles milkshake was really good too! Will definitely return!
Horrible experience!!!!!!! Rude waitstaff and manager could care less with NO APOLOGIES for waiting over hour for order. From coffee to bill the subpar service at this visit was beyond excusable. If you are “understaffed” DO NOT TAKE the paying customers who anticipate appropriate service and food. The fact that the waitress is complaining to other customers about diners at another table shows the incompetence and lack of human respect in general.
I left the review below...8 months ago. Went again for takeout last week. Sad to say this diner has changed. 😔 It was very dirty. The staff had tshirts on as opposed to button down longsleeved dress shirts of 8 months ago. Staff didnt acknowkedge me when I approached the broken down wood bar in the corner. The entrance way carpet was filthy and scattered with papers ...as was the rest of floor. My meal was cold...omelet was HALF the portion it was 8 months ago. English muffin was not toasted....it was nucked....white with butter that couldnt melt. Never again. Dont waste your time for 17.00.😵💫Everyone was extremely friendly!! Food was huge and fabulous!! Served hot and FRESH!! Very impressed!! Also...very clean😊👍
Rude customer service as we were waiting in line trying to see when our table would be ready because the server gave us no direction or time table… Ended up leaving and going to my favorite diner “ finally ours “ where they treat you like family every time you walk in the door
We had a wonderful breakfast. I had the waffle special. My wife had the breakfast special of some sort of Mexican food. Our friend had just a regular eggs and toast breakfast. All very well done. Not a great or a lost no wait time today. Weekends are a bit different, but worth the wait.
The food here was amazing!!! The server that we had though was less than amazing. We saw her three times, to take our order, deliver food and (after waiting awhile) to receive our check. We didnt even see her waiting on other tables in order to wave her down for drink/coffee refills, and for our check. Will definitely give this place another try though, as we were looking forward to trying their amazing looking milkshakes, but were unable to order due to lack of service.
If you’re looking for a true diner experience then this is the place for you. It’s housed in an old Friendly’s that shutdown quite a few years ago but the food is far better than the buildings previous owner. They have created a warm atmosphere and dining experience. Everything on the menu is wonderfully displayed. I always choose breakfast at diners and this place did not disappoint. Poached eggs with a side of poutine home fries all of which turned out wonderfully. I gathered with family and an old friend which is where diners exceed. It gave us the place to conversation and connect all over again. This diner really is a Second Chance to make memories happen!
The service here was terrible. The hostess was sweet however our waitress was far less than. She was very nonchalant towards us but was very nice and outgoing towards other customers. She never checked on us once to see if the food was ok or to ask if we needed a refill. Never even made conversation with us. We had to flag down another staff member for a box and our check. We were uncomfortable the whole time and couldnt wait to leave. The food was great. Will not be returning.
No matter what you get on the menu, the food is delicious! Everything they have listed is done well-from their Banana Foster French Toast to the Loaded Home fries. Knowledgeable serving staff made it easy to get answers regarding food sensitivities and allergies! The new location has ample seating but fills up quickly on weekends!
Dont come if theyre busy. Boyfriend and I decided to try the diner and had a wait of 20 minutes for a table which wasnt bad, but the food took over an hour to get after ordering. It was classic diner food and some of it came cold. Food wasnt worth the wait but staff was friendly at least.
Food is great & the prices are reasonable.Overall great atmosphere, lovely workers & amazing food at a reasonable price. I highly recommend it. If they tell you you have to wait its worth every minute.Jonie was a very present and accommodating hostess. The woman was running the entire time I was at the diner (too bad I cant get her to come work for me).
Very disappointed. Went for breakfast, frozen home fries, horrible sausage gravy...it was made with an over fried sausage patty cut into small bits, gravy was tasteless. My husband asked for a refill on his iced tea and was told they were not free refills. They charge $2.49 for a refill which is totally ridiculous. We own a food stand and years ago we figured out that a glass of iced tea cost a total of $.03 to make. The waitress told us it cost $2.49 to make a glass of iced tea. The only thing done right were the over easy eggs. Will never go back there, over priced Sysco frozen food. Will go to Stellas which is not far down the road and they give free refills on ice tea, use ground sausage in their sausage gravy and know how to season their food.
This was a really nice experience. Went in the 4th of July, it wasnt packed though they had limited hours. Our waitress was very nice but not like in your FACE nice, which was really refreshing. Also, with the hangover/headache I was nursing, her demeanor was most welcome.
I had a great time having breakfast with my 14 month old son this morning. They were busy and so we sat outside on their patio - and I’m so glad we did. It was a nice atmosphere, weather was great, and I didn’t feel bad about my son making such a mess. We drive by all the time and I’m glad we stopped. The food was great - cool menu with all the traditional breakfast foods, and some added neat items. I look forward to going back. Even though they were busy, we got great service. The employees seemed to like their jobs, they had great attitudes and were very friendly. Also, being a solo mom out to eat with a baby is a challenge, they servers were attentive and helpful and understanding with this. Thanks for a first great experience - we will be back soon!
Excellent breakfast spot! Lots of parking. Great touchless menus (accessed via QR code). Easy to find. Short wait and friendly staff. No reservations for fewer than 5 people. Theres a little bar for Bloody Marys and Mimosas. You can get a flight of Mimosas - my wifes favorites were Moscow Mule and the Orange Pineapple!
The was good and bad about it . Waitresses very nice but also very over extended. To many tables which lead to slower get to us . Yes it was busy but 10 min to just get to us and 45 min for food which is not her fault . Food was was average . Got Monty Cristo was kinda very dry. And load homefrys very good. . All in all very good .
This is my go to spot in Camillus for breakfast. Even if it wasnt near our office I would drive an hour for the food its the best. The owner is always on-site and cares about her customer. As a realtor I love taking our buyers here to fuel up before a long day of showing houses!
I called my daughter late morning hoping she could bring me breakfast. My grandson was treating his mom to breakfast and they were in the middle of eating. I asked my daughter, after taking a look at the menu, if she would bring me something that I saw on the menu. I ordered the chicken and waffles it came with 🥓. Needless to say it was delicious. I will certainly order from this diner again and share my experience with family and friends.
Stopped in for breakfast. There was a wait which I don’t mind, but nobody took the time to put us on a list or even acknowledge us. It seemed like chaos. Once we were seated, I watched as people were not sat in order of how they came in and saw the frustration of those skipped. They definitely need a better system. The place looked nice and the waitress was friendly, I think she was one of the owners. Our food took a little long to come, and usually not a big deal when a place is swamped with people, but the French toast was still raw in the middle. Every place has on off day at certain times and this was my experience on my first visit. I might give it another chance someday, but first impressions stick with you.
Happen to stop in after a medical appointment close by. Pleasantly very surprised at how awesome this place is. Very clean with cool, modern decor. Comfortable seating. Server was great. Coffee was BEST I’ve ever had at a diner so I asked - they grind the beans fresh for each pot. Food came out quickly. Omelette had all fresh veggies and real (not canned) mushrooms. Bacon cooked exactly as I requested. A real diamond in the rough. I only wish I lived closer...
Our company orders from here as much as we can. We understand staffing issues- 2nd time when calling to place take out order, was told can not do. Due to high volume. I asked if I could come down and place order in person. And that was a no as well. We are taking our business else where.
Long wait, very tight confined seating. But the food was delicious and the service was great! I got the corned beef Benny which was eggs Benedict but with corned beef hash instead of ham, it was fantastic I ate every bit! My husband got the huge frittata and he loved it. Definitely coming back!
My first visit, tho Ive been thinking about it for a while. I appreciate that covid-19 protocol practiced, and announced at the front door. No uncomfortable guessing. Food was delicious, hot, and quick. Service polite, and friendly. Made me feel comfortable, and like a wanted customer. Ill be back
I live around the area and often go to Costco. We have been watching them construct this diner for a while and saw that it had opened. Never had a chance to come in before Covid.Went for my first breakfast on a Monday during COVID and it was wonderful. Everything was spaced out. The staff was extremely polite and made you feel very comfortable considering what’s going on. The food was excellent. The home fries were definitely worth ordering more. All in all I will definitely be back. Thank you to the team there!
Holy cow was this diner great! I went at a busy time so there was a short wait, but it was definitely worth it. Everyone in my party ate pretty much all their food. I had the Country Fried Steak and Eggs and mmmm was it delicious. They were cooked perfect, and it was a generous portion size for the price. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars was that our waitress never really came by much at all
The food was fantastic. Perfectly fluffy waffle for the Chicken and Waffles. Sausage gravy for the Southern Combo was delicious and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Our server, Adam, was incredibly personable and fast. We will definitely be back. The Eggs Benedict at the table next to us looked incredible and I need to try them.
So, Ill skip the history lesson of this place. I live 1-2 miles from this diner. I read about it on Syracuse.com. I visited with my wife, it was AWESOME!! We returned this am and ate at an outside table. I love their specials, very creative. I had the blueberry crumble french toast, yum. I will say, I liked their page on Facebook and the advertising works! I saw my breakfast on the page and went to get it!!! The server was fantastic, I felt bad I kept asking for things she had to go inside to get. She was great. The food was great, the price was great. What else do you need to know? ❤️
After my 3rd visit to second chance in excited to give a 5 star rating.. Ive enjoyed different meals each time Ive been. As a big fan of diner food . I tend to be very critical of it. And I havent had a single thing to complain about there. The service is always on point. The food is absolutely delicious (recommend the Rueben) and price/serving ratios are unbeaten in my opinion ..
The food is great here and I love the background and story of the owners. They Change their specials and offer a mix of regular diner food and also some food with a twist or different take. To date - I havent had anything bad yet at the place. My only gripe of not giving 5 stars is that the building is a little small for seating, but this place otherwise is really a hidden gem. This is a solid diner option in the Camillus area and I enjoy visiting.
My 2 year old and I waited 2 and a half hours to be seated. Once we were finally seated, waited another 25 minutes for anyone to ask if we wanted drinks. The coffee was watered down, the waitress/hostess staff were very cold and the food was awful. We arrived at 9am on a Sunday and left at almost 1 in the afternoon!
Awfully rude service! My wife was cat-called by another patron, Adam... Adam told my wife blondes have more fun followed by shake it blondie. As if this wasnt enough the bartender then explained to me how unedducated I am because Adam has special needs after i said sit down and be quiet. I WILL NOT EVER let anybody talk to my wife that way. Adam needs an aid and proper help. So if the rude bartender can quit protecting her tip and maybe, just maybe actually help Adam become a functioning member of society. Dont use his disability as an excuse for your horrendous service. And Adam if you somehow read this just know there is no hard feelings, that bartender is using you man. On a much more culinary fueled note. I ordered rare and got slightly over well done on a freakin burger with soggy bacon and low grade blue cheese. fries were decent though.
Nice spot for lunch. Welcoming staff and very friendly. They accommodated us at an outside table once one opened up. The young gentleman who waited on us was professional and helpful with menu suggestions. Rueben was on point. Affordable menu and great staff. A nice find on a random lunch date. Would recommend
After hearing many good things about this diner, my wife and I stopped in today and were completely satisfied. While on the small side, there is still ample room for a moderate crowd. We arrived around 1130 and there were a few tables open in addition to counter seats. Nola was solo waitressing and doing a fine job keeping up with everyone. She greeted us and soon got drink orders and dropped off menus and place settings. My wife got the scrumptious cinnamon roll pancakes (from a great custom breakfast menu) and I got a turkey club. My club and iced tea were also delicious. The check was promptly provided, but with no rush to finish. All in all it was a wonderful meal at very reasonable prices. Interior is also inviting and nicely updated. Well be back for sure.
Been to so many other diners that could not begin to compete with this place. Ordered the corned beef hash and eggs which were great. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean establishment and would 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a great meal. Cant wait to go back
Great food!! Little small of a diner, limited seating, hard to get your name on a waiting list. They just need to figure out a good system that works for them. Seemed like some people were confused in whos responsible for what. Thats the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Besides that the service was excellent from out waitor Adam and the food was amazing. Very well done. Will definitely be returning.
Simply amazing and if its not on the menu but they have the ingredients they have no problem making it for you. Took me two months to try this place and in one visit it became my go to for days I dont want to cook breakfast. Their food is consistent and delicious whether its Sunday or Tuesday. They do not hide their cooking behind oil and butter like most diners do, its just very well prepared!
If you havent been, you need to go. Small in size bit huge on customer service and uniqueness. They have breakfast dishes you wont find anywhere else. I do recommend you get an extra piece of cheese in your omelet. They tend to be a little dry without it. Everything else is on point!
Love this place all the way up until today; walked in at 12 and was told they are not taking anymore customers and they are open until 2? What the heck kind of business operates that way to their customers? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, kind of makes me not want to ever come back. That is awful customer service if you ask me… they weren’t even very busy. We’ve been here many times before when it was far more busy. Ridiculous if you ask me…
CLOSED AT THIS LOCATION - They have moved to Genesee Street next to (west of Kasson Rd) Tops/Wal-Mart plaza where the Mexican restaurant was, since Dennys moved away there about 2 years ago, there was a Mexican restaurant at the location. This info is as of 3/9/21.I gave 3 stars to be able to post this information, I cant judge the establishment as I have never eaten there. I would expect them to update the MAPS info on their new location though, I hope their cooking is better than their business acumen.
3 starts simply for the service. The people were nice, fast and friendly. The food and table placement was the downfall to say the least. Every time the door opened we got a cold breeze, the window to the left of where I was sitting had the sun beaming in my face only to have someone put cardboard on the window (for another table) and the CF steak wasnt prepared properly. There was more breading and gravy than there was steak...
I came in early with a group in which we were seated and conversed with promptly. The server, Adam, was amazing —witty, knowledgeable, great interpersonal skills— through out the whole stay. The aura was cozy and hospitable. Oh, and get the hot chocolate! Needless to say, he was left a good tip and we left with a great experience.
Dropped in for a quick bite. Unexpected surprise. Everything .excellent. The service.was prompt with a. courteous..smile..they enjoy what they do (a huge change in what many others in the food service project).. The food ..I was in a hurry and sat at the breakfast bar..ordered a egg and sausage on an English muffin. It was the best ever . Simple to make but to make great ..not simple. Its like the eggs were hatched from their own hens..saugage flavorful . Coffee was rich, aromatic Columbian and hot .so good. Returning tomorrow .. even though it will be out of my way some taking my with my wife..going for their omelette! Expect to be completely satisfied.
Really Good Coffee. I almost never drink diner coffee, but I trusted the reviews on this place and was not disappointed. Both regular and decaf are excellent. Also, any place that has 6 different versions of eggs Benedict probably knows what theyre doing. I had the OG and my husband has the crab cake Benny - both were delicious. HOWEVER. If I had known how good their corned beef hash was, I would have gotten the corned beef Benny. Apparently their hash is made by a local guy, and its *miles* better than the canned stuff most places use. Probably the best thing on either of our plates.Tl;dr - hole in the wall dinner with excellent coffee, eggs Benedict, and has corned beef hash. 10/10 would go again.
They have MOVED!! Now on W Genesee St. Absolutely a gem. Staff were attentive and friendly and efficient. Place was clean and non chaotic even tho it was Saturday breakfast rush. Food was great. Big parking lot. Handicapped accessible. Will definitely tell friends and we will be returning for sure.
First time there for this rustic decor diner which is part of a larger building that looks like it was a garage at one time.It is a breakfast / lunch place with mostly table seating. I was with my wife and daughter. We had the Ruben, a Turkey club, and a frittata all excellent. Go early on weekends as we could not get in a few weekends ago.The ruben was one the best I have had north of NYC. The best I have had in central NY . It came with fries that were crisp and tasty . While I did not know it, and of note, is that you can get it fatty if wanted. Fatty Rubens are so gooood and not usually offered north of NYC. I WILL return to get one now that I know...My daughter had the large frittata which she liked very much. It looked like it had everything but the kitchen sink in it. She commented that the potatoes were crispy and did not over power the dish like in some places. It had bigger chunks of scrambled eggs which added to the flavor which she also commented on. It came with 2 huge slices of sourdough bread. My wife had the turkey club. It had thick slices of turkey and was good. My wife says next time she will ask to have it with sour dough bread and more mayo. It also came with the crispy fries. While not tried but WILL BE are the several varieties of egg benedict offered. They even have a corned beef one! Yum.... They have several types of burgers that looked very good. Big thick burgers. I will have to try one soon...The waiter was very good and prices reasonable especially for the amount of food received. The place clean and as mentioned rustic that added interest.I recommend trying this place out.

2022-05-14Highly disappointed. I have lovedthis restaurant since day 1 that it opened its first location. I have never had anything bad to say till now. Haven’t been able to come here for about 6 months or more and we walked in and it isn’t busy like it’s usual which made me wonder why. I now know why. The service is awful. We first waited about 15 minutes to be able to meet our waitress and get drinks. Then once we got our food, the corned beef hash was burnt, pancakes were literally drenched in syrup. Even though it should be able to be put on once received. Ham and French toast was over cooked. Asked for new French toast that wasn’t over cooked and our waitress, Anna, gave the face like she knew and would get me more. Once I got my new French toast, I asked for butter, it took her a few to get me it and then she walked past a cup that had packs of butter in it on a table they use for coffee and gave it to me. I reached in to get a pack and it turns out that it was a cup full of used butter containers. I got up to let her know and got no apology. Got a thing of butter from the back from her and still no apology. I am sad that this place has changed its values in service and quality.

2022-08-16Keep in mind they are short staffed front and back of house. But the drinks were great food was tasty, the staff was great all smiles and even the customers we interacted with while waiting for food were funny. We did wait 35 mins for food (2 adults) but I believe if they had proper staff it would have been a lot less.I still say go try it out - support them! It’s the only way to see them do better.

2021-10-31Great food and great service! I had the Philly omelet with home fries with coffee. My wife had eggs Benny with the Carmel pumpkin iced coffee. Everything we had was delicious. The food was served quickly and come out hot. The prices were a bit more than other dinners but the food was also considerably better. Worth every penny!

2022-02-11The food was so freaking good. The service was great. A little slow but only because it was prime breakfast time on a weekend. So many creative choices for breakfast and so so good.

2022-08-19Incredibly delicious food at a great price! Our adorable server, Elizabeth was super accomodating and friendly, but all of the other staff was nice, too. Lovely drink flights and pancake flights were totally worth the drive out to Camillus. Thank you for the lovely brunch!!

2022-04-16My experience there was not the best I waited 2 hour since check in for a burnt corned beef hash which I was unable to eat and was comped off my bill. This was my 3rd time trying to eat there since I had heard so many good reviews ...we waited 45 min for a table and then another hour and and 15 min for food. The wait staff was rude to other customers and a heated argument broke out between the staff and customer. I will not be going there again. I included a picture of my order which was also cold and eggs were watery.

2021-08-22My experiences here range from good to fantastic. The homefries and pancakes are big highlights. Their gluten free pancakes are great but I do not think they are safe for celiac--but Id double check with them.Adam is the best server!! But their service is usually good all around.

2022-08-26First time visit. Heard wonderful reviews and with work schedule could never get there during their operating hours. We liked the warm and homey atmosphere. Very friendly staff, creative menu, good food, efficient set-up ( all condiments already on table), and most welcoming and friendly waitress, Becca. Becca never missed a beat and gladly shared the history ( we asked) of the restaurant and its founder, Ed. Her vivacious personality and intelligent approach to sharing menu choices was refreshing. She definitely loves her job and would make an excellent trainer We truly loved this place and will definitely be returning. It was very busy and other diners seemed to truly enjoy themselves and the food. Thank you, Becca, for making our first experience so enjoyable.

2021-07-29This. This is the kind of food that made me miss home. And the service was beyond fantastic! Both the food and the service made me feel like a member of the family. Our breakfast cheesesteaks were made with real, actual hand shaved ribeye and perfectly caramelized veggies with over medium eggs. We started with the breakfast poutine - yeah, you heard me - BREAKFAST POUTINE.Worth the very short 10 minute wait for a table, and while we were at our table, our coffee was never empty. The decor is perfect for a small diner with a suburban country approach - hardwood floors and corrugated metal on the walls.I’m so glad we came here!
