A huge shout out to Secret City for making a truly fun afternoon for us. Everything went so smoothly and a great time was had by all. We had the rainiest of days and did a last minute change from the lower Manhattan hunt to the Chelsea Markets. We had a fun guide in Walter who did everything to make sure the experience was all we hoped it would be
We booked Secret City for a company team building event. They were very accommodating, allowing for a last minute change to an indoor scavenger hunt due to impending inclement weather. Laura was an amazing host...she made the entire experience very fun and everybody had a great time!
What a fantastic adventure! We did a hunt for a birthday party and everyone was very excited about participating in this unique way to celebrate. Bring good shoes and rainwear if the forecast is iffy - we got rained on but the teams still had a great time! (Secret City was kind enough to give me until a few hours ahead of time to make up my mind on which hunt we would play due to the weather.)
Jarred and his team made our event the best yet ! Our department had a scavenger hunt at the MET. It was filled with puzzles and team building activities that was very detailed. Jarred communicated with our coordinator every step of the planning process. Our Coordinator Walter was wonderful he met us and had the tickets available ! The price and service was worth every penny!
Secret City hosted a scavenger hunt for a group of teens through my organization and we couldnt have had a better time! The kids were engaged, having fun, learning team building skills and learning new things about NYC. Jared helped to organize everything to custom fit our group, he was responsive, professional, and willing to work with specific needs we had. Silvia was our host for the hunt, she was energetic and helped us every step of the way day of. We cant wait to work with Secret City Scavenger Hunts again in the future!

After a year and a half stuck working from home and away from my team, we decided to do an in-person outdoor event, and chose Secret City Scavenger Hunts to conduct the event. From beginning to end, they were nothing but wonderful to work with, from scheduling to the scavenger hunt itself. We chose the Central Park Scavenger Hunt and my team of seven had an absolute blast running around the park. Our on-site contact was helpful and made the process so fun. We will definitely be doing this again some time. Highly recommend as a team-building opportunity and just plain fun. It would be great fun with friends or family as well.

We had a scavenger hunt for our daughters 8th birthday in Central Park. It was amazing!! Kids really enjoyed it and Jared customized it for us. The clues were kids friendly and both teams were excited to be the 1st to solve the puzzle. I really recommend Secret City Scavenger Hunts. A big thank you to Jared and his team.
So fun!!! My friends and I stayed together as a single group instead of making it a competition so we could go at our own place and explore the city while we were hunting. Even though we didnt finish the whole hunt, we had a ton of fun with the parts we were able to get to! Jared was incredibly responsive, helpful, and kind when it came to communication and coordination, and our host Andres was personable, funny, and gave a great dinner recommendation for afterwards! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun activity to do in the city.
Secret City is the “go to” place to engage in entertaining, challenging and thrilling scavenger adventures! We had to reschedule a family member’s birthday hunt to another date and Jared went out of his way to make it happen. Their customer service is outstanding and we found the hunt to be truly extraordinary. We did the midtown hunt and thrived on scouring Grand Central, the Public Library and the Times Square vicinity. Our hunt guide, Michelle was so patient and funny with us and made us comfortable and competitive from the start. We have had several family scavenger hunts in NYC, and Secret City is the best! My company had a team building scavenger hunt with Secret City in the Herald Square area and we had a fantastic time! Our Secret City leader, Krista, was a lot of fun and high energy - she explained all the rules clearly and was there to meet us at the end. The communication before our hunt was excellent and all of our requests and questions were taken care of in a very prompt manner. Im so looking forward to doing another scavenger hunt, with my family or another team! Highly recommend!
We just had our scavenger hunt through Central Park with secret city and what a blast! We wanted a fun team building activity for our small group and this was perfect. The dynamic of racing against the other team to get to all the clues first made for fun competition and you do have to work together to figure out the clues. For the central park hunt I would definitely recommend dressing comfortably because there is a lot of walking (or running depending on how competitive your team wants to be :-)) but you really get to explore all these great spots throughout the park many of which I had never stopped to notice before today. Jared was so easy to touch base with and very responsive to any questions I had. Overall, a great choice for a fun work/team activity or something different to do with friends - highly recommend!

We used the scavenger hunt as a team-building activity the first time our office got back together since the pandemic. It was a fun way to get people outside, collaborating together, and checking out some fun facts around the city that we wouldnt have noticed or known otherwise. We were also super aggressive and power walking all over the place :) Solid option for teams!

We did a Central Park scavenger hunt for a friends birthday. It was a fun and pandemic-compatible activity, and several people in our group commented that it was the best scavenger hunt that theyve done. Jared, the owner, was responsive and accommodating, and Nick was a cheerful host.
We did the Brooklyn Heights Scavenger Hunt as a team building exercise prior to a more substantive department retreat. More than half of our team came onboard during COVID, and this was our first time being with each other in real time. The hunt proved the perfect way of allowing us to create relationship and come to know each other a bit, before we turned our attention to the actual work at hand. Hats off to Secret City!
Really well-designed hunt at Grand Central Terminal and super fun! It was for my 60th birthday and everyone loved it. But it’s quite a race so be prepared to move your a$$! It’s a very challenging (and aerobic) two hours. It fosters a perfect blend of camaraderie and competition, and we all worked hard. I had a dozen friends and everyone raved about it. Plus we learned so much about the terminal, it was fun to see this building we all knew so well but notice so many new things. Paired with a group dinner at an Italian restaurant in Times Square after, it was one of the best and most memorable birthday celebrations I’ve ever had! Thank you!
I worked with Laura and she was so lovely and helpful in setting up the scavenger hunt. We had so much fun running all over Grand Central and would definitely do it again!
I recently coordinated a scavenger hunt in the Met and our team had a great time! I coordinated the Rockefeller scavenger hunt for my company that took place on 10/3/19. The feedback was extremely positive! It was a great team building activity that allowed people who dont typically work together to come together as a team. All ages seemed to enjoy getting to know each other and work together. This was my first time coordinating an event from start to finish - so to see it was a huge success give me great joy!Jared was extremely helpful and responsive! Julie was our host. Secret Citys scavenger hunt in Central Park was amazing! We wanted a fun way to learn more about the park with our 9 year old, and it was perfect. Who knew there were so many cool, hidden gems from statues and playgrounds to chess and an authors walk. We also really liked the paper/pencil aspect! It was a nice 2-hour break from using our phones to navigate around NYC. Jared was extremely flexible in helping us find a solution for our dates/times/party size. I would DEFINITELY recommend Secret City!

Secret City Scavenger Hunts is the best! We did this for our team outing and the whole team loves it. It was truly a great experience from top to bottom. I would love to work with them again hopefully in the future.1. Jared was the best! From the moment I simply merely asking for some info and a quote, he took the time to call me directly and spoke on the phone thoroughly on the process of the whole scavenger hunt. We decided to go with Secret City because not only did Jared provide speedy response (plus the quote he gave us was good too) but he was willing to be flexible enough with all of my ridiculous requests. He even checked on the day itself to make sure everything run smoothly.2. Laura our host was awesome! She was on time (although we were prob 5 mins late) and she briefed us on the instruction very well. The hunt wasnt difficult but challenging enough that all of us really work on it and were so focused on getting it all done and win.
We booked a scavenger hunt at the American Museum of Natural History for our annual Mother & Son outing. Our kids ranged in ages 7-14 and each of them had a fantastic time. It was so much fun. Jared and his team put together a really great hunt. We loved the photo and video challenges too! Definitely recommend Secret City and wouldnt mind doing another one at a different venue!

Awesome company! From start to finish- we booked this literally the night before. Reached out to several scavenger hunt companies and Secret City was the only one that answered right away, the same evening. We booked for the following day. The hunt was long and fun! Got lots of exercise in and learned lots of interesting facts along the way. We had a mix of adults and kids in our group and everyone enjoyed. Andres was our facilitator and he was great!! Definitely recommend! Two thumbs up!
Did the NYPL hunt with them for a company event. The booking process was easy and Jared was extremely attentive and responsive during the process. The instructor Krista was amazing and very patient when part of the group arrived late. The activity was very fun as usual (we also did the Grand Central hunt earlier in the year). The only recommendation is to structure the hunt to be a bit more instructive. Everything else was great.
Secret City arranged a wonderful scavenger hunt within Grand Central for our team of 15. Jared, Laura and team were extremely flexible and accommodating. They responded to each of our inquiries promptly and provided as many details in each response. Not only did we get an opportunity to work on our team building, we also learned the history behind one of iconic train stations in NYC.Highly recommended if you want to have a great time.

My daughters 11th birthday party used Secret Citys scavenger hunt at the Museum of Natural History. And it was a blast! Such an exciting and unique way to celebrate. It was a great combination of challenging, educational and fun! I highly recommend it for kids this age or older who want to experience an iconic NYC museum in a new light. You really get to see so much of the museum and the kids loved finding the clues and solving the puzzle. Thanks to the Secret City staff who organized the activity flawlessly.
I cant say enough great things about Secret City! first of all, Jared was super accommodating and flexible with the group. We were supposed to be in Central Park and he suggested a last minute switch to Grant Central so that we could be inside. My group of 20 teens LOVED the hunt! The hunt was high quality and really well done!
We had 20 people from my team at work do the Grand Central Terminal scavenger hunt and wed definitely recommend it! Communication with SecretCity was friendly and efficient, they were flexible with us, and payment couldnt have been easier. Our Guide, Abby, was a pleasure too! The hunt itself took us all around grand central, and was very fun. We are already talking about doing another one in the warmer months.
What a fun outdoor activity to do with friends during this strange year (2020)! It was a unique and creative way to spend our time outdoors, as the weather gets colder, while seeing friends in a safe way. We gathered up a bunch of families and competed teens against parents. Fun was had by all ages. The teens got to run around and explore the city while the dads won the hunt and the moms stopped for a pint at mcsorleys mid-hunt.We did the East/West village hunt and found it challenging, educational and very active. Over 8 miles! The clues were not the brain teaser kind but rather having to find things of historical significance. It was not too hard and not too easy so good for a group of varying ages.Jared and our host Andrés were extremely responsive, friendly and patient. Thanks for a great weekend!!!
We picked this scavenger hunt to do as a team building activity with our colleagues for our annual staff retreat. We had 4 teams and we all had a fantastic time!! The staff were fantastic and the scavenger was fun. Our only complaint would be that we dont think all the teams should start in the same spot. It would be great if each team started on a different page so that the others teams couldnt follow each other around. But other than that, we enjoyed it!
I booked them for a team building. The whole process was rather seamless and everyone was very responsive with clear instructions. They even gave me options close by if there was inclement weather.Day off, we had a facilitator who made sure to explain all the rules to the team members, took photos of us, and guide us through the process.I found the scavenger hunt genuinely difficult. I thought itd be too easy, but it definitely wasnt. We did it at Grand Central and Im a building buff and I definitely was running around, looking, and learning new things.
My law firm did the Secret City scavenger hunt at The Met for a large corporate group of 70 lawyers. They all really enjoyed themselves and thought it was great for team-building. It was just enough of a challenge for really smart people. A fast but good way to see lots of the museum in 2 hours. Definitely recommend for corporate programs!

We celebrated my moms Bday with a Grand Central Station Scavenger Hunt. We had an absolute blast! It was tons of fun, we got lots on knowledge of GCS which Ive never known before (and we are all born and bred New Yorkers!) Jared and Andres were a pleasure to work with. Prompt answers to our questions, and they are there every step of the way to make sure all is good. Would definitely recommend to others and I am looking forward to doing other hunts in the future.
I was searching for a scavenger hunt for a surprise birthday event that would not be too pricey. I came across Secret City Scavenger hunt and I am so glad I did. They have a flat fee for upto 15 people with room to add more. Its your own personal private hunt so youre not competing with other people. We took on their newest challenge in the Chelsea Market. William was our host and he met with us and explained the process. He then waited until the very end to give us our scores.The whole thing was competitiv, fun and high energy throughout. It took us the full two hours to get it done since it was a Saturday and it was very crowded. Its a very good activity to do to bring friends or colleagues together in a way thats not awkward. I would definitely do it again.
Secret City Scavenger Hunts is fun and affordable! Jared is available to answer questions and help throughout the entire planning process and our host Liz was funny and 100% focused on our group having a good time. I recommend Secret City to anyone who is having birthday parties, bachelorettes or employee team building.
Secret City Scavenger Hunts went above and beyond to make my boyfriends surprise party a huge hit. We had a big group (18 people) and Kelsey our host was INCREDIBLE. She was easy to communicate with and orchestrated the scavenger hunt beautifully.They also got the winners and the birthday boy baked goods as a prize for winning. Cant say enough great things. We had a family celebration at the Museum of Natural History. We were a group of 22 people ranging in age from 5-75. Everyone had a wonderful time. Secret City was a great organization to deal with. Responsive and accurate in their description. I would not recommend this experience more.
Had a blast with the team from Secret City for my daughters sweet 16 celebration. Abby & Jared are super friendly and my daughters friends thought it was awesome idea. It was a great way to see some of the fabulous parts of Central Park. Make sure you have lots of energy for this fun filled team event.
We did the Grand Central Terminal Scavenger Hunt as a group Christmas experience. It was such a great time! It’s amazing how much we all learned about GCT!This was just pure fun! The company is very responsive and Leigh was a great Coordinator of the event. I highly recommend this as a great family or business event!

We did the Central Park hunt for our company outing, it was fun, active and competitive and everyone had a great time . We had no idea what we were getting into but Our host Andres explained everything clearly in about 5 minutes and was terrific all around. Highly recommend to any group, but be ready to move around a lot for about 2 hours!
I cannot say enough about how great our Secret Ciy Scavenger Hunt experience was. We went as a mentoring group from a public school Title I program, and every single step of the way during the planninng process they were right there to answer questions, or to lend support. The event itself was awesome. We had 5 times participate in the midtown hunt which included some indoor and some outdoor hunting, and eventhough the weather was not great all of the high schoolers had a fantastic time. They marvelled at the architecture, the scenery, and things that are hidden right in front of your face. The tasks are at a reasonable level of difficulty and they make you feel very accomplished when completing them.
We had a blast at the New York public library! We came with families ranging in all ages and everyone was able to participate in some way and have fun!! Great way to spend an afternoon! Bring your smarts, eye spy skills and competitive edge and you won’t be sorry!! We definitely recommend this and we will be doing a different location hunt soon!!

2022-02-26The Family Center Youth Advisory Board thoroughly enjoyed our scavenger hunt in GCT this past February 2022. While we had originally scheduled a hunt in October 2021 for Central Park, we had to reschedule. Secret City Scavenger Hunts could not have been more accommodating: they are easy to communicate with and very responsive. Laura was our point of contact for the hunt day-of and she made it so much fun! The youth loved running around the station and learning about all the secrets of old NYC and its famed train terminal. I was happy that everyone in our group heeded Secret Citys advice and wore comfortable shoes. Its only a two hour hunt but you will need refreshments afterwards and trust me: you will sleep well after all the fun of a Secret City Scavenger Hunt!

We are a competitive group and had so much fun going through all the clues at Chelsea Market racing each other and the clock . Krista, our host, was energetic, responsive, and led the hunt perfectly! Booking the event was easy and efficient. Secret City was always available for questions and responded quickly. 2021-10-18We had an AMAZING time with Secret City! The Director, Jared, was very helpful and responsive from day 1 of trying to plan an event for a bigger group. Krista and Laura met us at the starting point and we did the Legends of the Village hunt. The hunt was amazing, the clues were interesting and we learned a lot about the area. Definitely looking forward to doing another event with Secret City!

2022-04-19We had such a blast doing the grand central hunt! Had five families with kids of all ages and everyone enjoyed! Everything was run perfectly from coordinating with jared to the hunt with our host krista. Such a fun and different family activity!! Will def be doing more hunts with them!

Chelsea Market was our second scavenger hunt with Secret City, and it’s as good as the one we did five years ago in Grand Central Terminal. Filled with creativity and excitement, race against your friends and the clock, to complete all questions and tasks on the list. Krista, our host, was terrific, upbeat, explained all the rules, and was available when we needed to ask a question.The hunt itself takes you throughout the venue you choose, asking you to explore and discover little known facts, hidden in plain sight. Learning and highlighting these interesting things, about places we New Yorkers take for granted every day, was pretty cool.Bored with the traditional “meal out on the town”, a Secret City Scavenger Hunt is the adventure and answer you’re looking for!

2022-05-23My team hired Secret City for a team building experience near our HQ and we settled on the Grand Central Terminal Scavenger Hunt. It was part Amazing Race, part Trivia, and all fun. The host, Aubrey, was engaging and the owner, Jared, was very responsive. It was well worth the cost for a turn-key and unique experience.
