This place absolutely has 5 star views and beautiful decor. It’s worth the visit just for that alone. A gorgeous place to get a bite to eat and drink. Really breathtaking ambiance.Expect city prices. The lunch menu was eclectic and high end. The charcuterie board however was dismally tiny though for the price, even by nyc standards. Felt a bit robbed by the board. Don’t mind paying a lot but it was woefully underwhelming as far as flavor and portions. Perhaps other items and dinner here is better. I’ll update once I come by for an evening. The cider is beautifully bottled and they have a nice range. Extremely disappointed that the non alcoholic cider isn’t made by them. Don’t try to take a bottle of that home, spend your money on the stuff they have on display instead.Service and staff was great.
Absolutely phenomenal. Such a hidden gem. The views are STELLAR. The food was fantastic. The vibe was perfect. And the music was superb. The wait staff was so kind and friendly. This place has become one of my new favorites. Highly highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed
I typically do not write negative reviews but the experience my friends and I had at this restaurant was off putting and concerning enough to warrant a warning to other customers. On October 9th, 2021, around 4:45pm myself and a group of diverse friends inquired about dining at the restaurant as we did not have reservations. Because it appeared to be a slow day, the hostess offered to sit us with no reservation. The experience started off on the wrong foot. The hostess warned us that we shouldnt stay too long because of other reservations. The attitude and tone were dismissive from the beginning but we tried to let it go because we didnt want to assume ill intent without evidence. After sitting for a while with no attention from the waiting staff, we started to notice other tables that came in after us being served drinks and food before we were offered water. Ultimately we requested water for the table on four separate occasions and did not receive water until after the bill was paid. The waiting staff was not attentive only coming to the table once in a 3 hour stay. Please remember we were told not to stay too long but because of the slow service we were there for three hours. The rest of the experience was mediocre, with the food being okay. That should have been the end of the story until we had a final negative experience with a manger who was rude and dismissive for no reason. Because we had to wait so long to pay, we went to the bar to pay the bill. While paying the bill and expressing to the bartender our frustration, the manager with curly hair and glasses over heard some of the conversation and, with a loud and aggressive tone, said “what’s the problem? You’ll get a discount” assuming we were looking to pay less for the poor service. We were not looking for a discount and the assumption that we were, in my opinion, was coming from ignorant and ill tempered place. This type of service and experience is unacceptable. We were very respectful. We were not loud and showed as much patience as possible. We dont understand why we were treated this way. I dont like making assumptions but the only difference between our table and the other tables were the color of our skin and the diverse cast of the group. I wrote this to warn others like us to be careful when choosing to dine at this location.I advise the restaurant to hire and/or train open minded individuals that treat everyone equally and create an environment where all feel welcome. Its 2021 and its expected that businesses operate in a respectful manner. If the pandemic has shown us anything, its that small businesses need our support. Its difficult to so at a place like this when the treatment is so repugnant. There are so many other great local businesses in the area that operate in a great environment and make their customers feel great, spend your money on them. Dont spend it in a place that is still stuck in the 1800s.
Last evening with friends we ventured up Seminary Hill to visit the new Seminary Hill Orchard and Cidery. As a former seminarian, the visit brought back fond memories and inspired me once again with the fabulous views of the Delaware Valley. Our visit was short but the drinks and the appetizers were terrific. The staff were most friendly and welcoming. Doug and Susan, the owners, could not have been more gracious. We expect to return many times in the future and to recommend their lodgings to future guests. What a gem this place is!!!
I don’t usually write online reviews, as I find that they’re often spectacularly unfair (“The product worked great, the price was right, and the customer service was excellent, but the box it came in was dented, so I’m only giving it one star”).But this place is different. It’s one of the most breathtaking views in New York State, for starters. That alone makes a visit worth it.Beyond that, I love the sustainable approach. The orchards are 100% organic, and the event venue, built using passive house principles, is net zero.We stayed in the recently opened Boarding House, owned by the same folks, down in town. Country chic isn’t really our thing, but this place is nicer-looking than a carefully curated Pinterest page. Seriously. It’s out of a magazine. The service is a bit uneven, but that, as has been written, will likely be worked out. And if it isn’t, who really cares? Is it such a big deal that you wait a few more minutes for your appetizer? Isn’t the whole point of the time away that you slow down?Do go. You won’t regret it. And you’ll be back—with family and friends.
An incredibly luxurious spot. Took my fiance there for vacation during the midst of the pandemic and we were not disappointed. This secluded and beautiful location was a perfect way for us to escape from the city and relax. The trail just nearby was a great hike and perfect for our puppies to run around and get some exercise. Overall I had a great time and Id highly recommend it to anyone.
My friends and I had a great getaway from NYC here. Nestled in the quaint town of Callicoon, you get gorgeous views of the valley and Delaware River. The property manager Bill arranged for us to go kayaking and helped arrange everything - he was so sweet! Can’t wait to come back up here. Also, I’m missing that jacuzzi already!
Grounds keeper and owner showed the property to prospective customers during our stay. Not an issue if advised prior to. The daily price to rent this property should entitle renters to some privacy. We were available by phone, email or text. Rented this location through ‘Home Away’. Otherwise the property is beautiful and well maintained. The homes are clean and modern upgrades complete setting.

2021-12-26I cannot recommend Seminary Hill highly enough. Both the restaurant and the setting are absolutely beautiful. The views are gorgeous. The restaurant looks out over the Delaware River. The cider is delicious. I loved the cider flight. The accompanying descriptions taught me a lot about the different features of cider. The food was amazing. I had the chicken skins and the duck breast. Both were superb. Everyone who worked there was so helpful, friendly and attentive. They wanted to make sure I had a wonderful experience. They absolutely succeeded! I hope to be back again soon, and to bring along other people so they can share it.

2021-08-15I would give this place 10 stars if I could for the view alone. My friends loved the trout spread and being able to take our wine to the other side of the building and play corn hole made it the perfect afternoon. We also brought a picnic blanket and a frisbee and hung out for hours. Everything is very clean and there’s good distance between tables. We thought the cider was just OK. But we had two bottles of wine which was great. The service was fantastic. Can’t wait to see this place in the fall.

2021-11-05Absolutely beautiful cidery that is just getting started. No detail left unthought of. Delicious ciders ranging from dry to sweet, beautiful orchard that overlooks the Delaware River. Would make a fabulous wedding venue for a happy couple. We took a tour of the budding on property orchard as well as the cidery and walk in to see the variety of apples used in their cider. We also enjoyed a fantastic charcuterie board and did a tasting of six ciders they had in house. A lovely way to spend a day! I am excited to go back and see their growth through the years!

2022-05-303 1/2 stars. We stopped by yesterday for one appetizer and two starters along with a beer and hard cider. The positive. The views, the decor, the food. Venison liver mousse, endives w beets and clams. However, the mousse arrived with one sliver of a slice of bread (for two people). In fact, the thinnest slice ever. The generous amount of mousse deserves at least four slices. To bring one slice is inadequate. Underwhelming. What else do you eat mousse with? We asked for more bread and only one more slice was provided. The cider was good, but was way too little. I am not sure it was even 5 ounces for $9. I wish I could give 3 1/2 stars. Again, food was very good. Beer was served in a 16 ounce can with a glass.Response to owner: do you believe bringing one very thin slice of bread for the mousse is adequate? For two people ? Why are you so stingy with bread? How else do you eat mousse? I am not sure how to take your response. I have no issue with the size of the portions for any of the 3 orders. We value quality over quantity. Thank you.

2021-12-06I cannot stress enough how beautiful this location is. The views are jaw-droppingly beautiful, and the food is absolutely exquisite. I think they mustve updated their menu because I just visited for the second time and there were new food items I hadnt seen before. WOW the food was amazing. The smoked trout sandwich was 12/10, truly top notch. To top it off, the cider was THE BOMB! I would recommend this place to anyone. The views, food and especially the cider remain unmatched.
