Seneca Farms in other cities:
Disappointed again no hot dogs. Been there 3x and always no hot dogs. Had Mushroom Swiss burger it was the best, But I love my hot dogs. Live in Penn Yan and a drive to get there its worth the trip. We meet family from Victor there, and bring friends with us to share the good food. We will be back!!!!!
I have enjoyed Seneca Farms chicken for years, but something has drastically changed. A month ago the chicken tenders were very small and disappointing and tonight the chicken was extremely greasy, cold and so not worth the money,, the fries were nothing more than dust, obviously sat for hours! We wont be back for chicken. Ice cream is always good. Im so sorry its gone for me after so many years of greatness.
I didnt get pictures of my food but I had just a hamburger and fries with a chocolate peanut butter cup milkshake. The milkshake was amazing at times I could taste chuncks of the peanut butter cups. I came with my mom and my maid of honor and bridesmaid and just had a great time with some great food and ice cream. I highly recommend if you have never been it is so worth it you wo t be sorry.
I’ve been coming her for at least 15 years and I have always been satisfied with their food here. Their chicken is like no other in the region and the inside has a nice “classic” feel to it with a bunch of Coca-Cola retro stuff. There is a restroom inside, and has plenty of outdoor seating. Menu has a good variety of other food besides chicken. Prices are still reasonable even with the recent price increase on some of their products, but still satisfied with the food and service!
Known for their fried chicken but have lots of good stuff on the menu. Lots of outside seating. The chicken was quite good. They also have an ice cream stand that was SO good!Update/editWe went back.... I had to try their brownie sunday.... SO WORTH IT!!! It was so good.
Chicken is really good. Mac and cheese is the typical food service mac and cheese. But i like that mac and cheese anyhow. Beans are ok. Neither takes away from the rating. Service was quick and friendly. If youve got the time, eat here, it wont cost anymore than a fast food joint and youre supporting a local business.
The corn fritters were top notch and the chicken was very good as well, although I wish I got different parts that included more meat. Mac salad was Mac salad, but the Mac and cheese was very tasty. The ice cream was pretty good, although the homemade soft serve isn’t as creamy as say Perry’s. Yet Perry’s doesn’t have different flavors of softserve like Seneca Farms. Overall a great place for dinner and desert!
The food is delicious! Definitely worth the 1hr drive from the other side of the lake. The service is slow for what appeared to be already made foods but they were busy + the staff was honest/apologetic as she was normally on the ice cream side. Cool Coca-Cola memorabilia to check out while waiting tho 🙂
One of my favorite places to visit in Penn Yan.. their food is amazing. If youve never been you should definitely put it on your list of places to go. They do get pretty busy around lunch time so if youre in a rush you should plan to order a head. However even when theyre busy, the wait is usually only about 10 minutes or so. Sometimes seating can be difficult as it is a small restaurant, but they have additional seating outside. In addition to their food the ice cream has made the list of one of the top ice cream dives in western New York. Again.. definitely worth checking out if youve never been
My favorite ice cream is the cappuccino crunch and triple chocolate dipped in chocolate with chocolate sprinkles! I cant get enough.. the white mountain raspberry and soft serve cookies and cream is also mouth-watering. Drumsticks, fries and the homemade lemonade mix are my go to for lunch. I love the cocoa-cola theme and super friendly staff. =]
Visited my favorite local establishment while on Keuka Lake. Seneca Farms always bring a smile to my face, they have a HUGE selection of ice cream options, all that are delicious. I got my go to.. a large strawberry milkshake, simple but so great. The staff was nice and helpful when deciding between options. They’re always smiling!
One of my favorite summer stops. This place has great fried chicken that I cant get enough of. Their corn fritters are worth travelling for as well! Get your dinner in the back, then stroll around to the front and have dessert with some in house made ice cream. Fantastic flavors and great variety, there is something to try every visit. They also have a drive thru for ice cream if you dont feel like getting out of the car.
During the dinner hour with Keuka College resuming classes tomorrow, it was BUSY! A good sign! Had heard great things, now I know why. Delicious chicken dinner with large pieces of chicken, tasty corn fritters (to be eaten with maple syrup), mashed with gravy and cole slaw. All very good, couldnt eat it all!!! Fun Coke memorabilia all in the red and white theme. Very fun! Will make a special trip to eat here again.
You cannot find better fried chicken anywhere in the Finger Lakes. On your way home from the Windmill Seneca Farms is an absolute must!!! The food is exemplary, the service, always with a welcoming smile and a warm hello. And after your meal, ya gotta have their ice cream! Did I say ice cream, I sure did. Treat yourself to the best place every - Seneca Farms!!
Id heard that this is a must visit place when in Penn Yan, I would agree. The chicken is not to be missed and the atmosphere is unique. Why go to some chain establishment when you can visit a one-of-a-kind gem like this. The service is good and speedy, the food is delicious, and the location is convenient. I left pleased with the decision to stop. Highly recommend.
We went there and they said that one fryer was down. Our order took 1 hour to come. Our expectations were high.If you like any type of deep fried foods... they have it. The place seem popular enough so take this review with a grain of salt.I did not find their fried chicken or corn fritters special. The taste was mediocre, there was no crunch when you bite into them. I can say fried chicken from the colonel has better taste, fried chicken from Tops and Walmart has the crunch but at times can come as too salty. The same goes for the corn fritters. Fried dough in fairs had better taste. Their milkshake is also just your standard milk shake.I think as a local shop in the area of Penn Yan, there is an attraction to try it out because it is local. I felt I shouldnt have invested an hour of my time waiting for the food to come out.Service wise I would suggest telling people outright that there is a problem so they know why they are waiting for so long.
Great service, love the chicken and corn fritters. No room for ice cream today but I know how good that is. Expanded outdoor spaces to sit and eat. Some in a covered open air space and seating in the open to enjoy the sunshine and summer weather. Always meets and exceeds expectations!
Seneca Farms catered ice cream at our wedding and it was PERFECT. They came to set up quietly, worked great with the venue, the servers were so sweet, and the ice cream was DELICIOUS. Nitosha who helped to set everything up did so much to make it perfect. We absolutely recommend them for any needs you have!
Yummy, rich ice cream. Worth every calorie. We had the triple chocolate which had fudgy brownie like pieces and black raspberry. Both were outstanding. We also had lunch, a burger and chicken sandwich, which were nothing to write home about, but the ice cream more than made up for it.
Ordered cheeseburger, bacon wrap. Wrap was like rubber. Only ate fillings. Mash potatoes tasted like instant and mac and cheese was either frozen or canned. Almost $30 , not worth the money. Plastic silverware very cheap could not even cut salad up. Had to ask for a cloth to wash dirty table off. Very very dissatisfied.
Stayed on Kueka with friends who had fried chicken from Seneca Farms previously. Said it was the best fried chicken, mac n cheese, baked beans and hush puppies. We were super excited and placed our order. They were out of baked beans, not a deal breaker, well just get them next time. Picked up our order and took back to the cottage to eat. The hush puppies were awesome. The fried chicken was okay. Chicken was very dry. Mac n cheese taste exactly like the frozen kind at Walmart from Bob Evans. Overall, if I was hungry I would get food from another place 1st. Not a good first impression for a place that weve heard was amazing.
So my SO and I went here and made the mistake of not getting the fried chicken. We just got tender combos thinking they would have homemade to go with their chicken. Although the corn fritters were super fresh and delicious, everything else was purely sysco food. Purchased frozen and heated upon order. The barbeque sauce was so yucky, nothing like standard bbq. We also had dessert plans so didnt get the ice cream. If I visit again, I will definitely be ordering the fried chicken and ill be staying for ice cream. Food was not bad, just wasnt anything special. Drive thru is ONLY for ice cream, but the set up outdoors is very nice and comfortable for outdoor eating. I even saw heaters.
It was ok, very expensive for custard and not much flavor. Maybe the hard ice cream is better. As we were leaving 2 bus loads of school sports teams came in and the owner or manager was screaming for them to wait ✋outside and the door had to remain closed for shop!!She was so RUDE, Had I not purchase my ice cream at the time I wouldnt have because of her screaming. wont be returning
The kids enjoy Seneca Farms. The corn fritters are good! I have a hard time finding food to eat as a vegan, however I found out they do offer a Boca burger.Seneca Farms does make their own ice cream, and are famous locally for doing so. Im not sure if there is a vegan dessert option available though.
Wish the salads had the option of no onions. The potato salad is one of the area’s best, however not everyone loves that much onion. I can’t stomach the macaroni salad. There must be vinegar or something sour in it along with the heavy onions. I know they are a cheap ingredient and makes it stretch farther but it’s a bit much. Also the prices skyrocketed last year and went up again this year. For example I love the flurry. Season end 2019 price was $5. It went up 50 cents at opening 2020. Mid way through the year, it went up another 50 cents and the container got smaller. This year, 2021, it’s still $6 for much less product. I won’t be going as often because I now feel cheated.
From the homemade ice cream used for my milkshake, to the fried chicken....totally AWESOME!! Chicken super crispy, and fried to perfection. My sides were dynamite!! I had the mac salad, which tasted like it was just made 30 minutes prior, very fresh. Mac and cheese very good as well!! Cant wait to go back!!
Excellent Ice Cream with at least 25 flavors ( probably more). Great Fried chicken in restaurant out back. This place is a favorite for locals and tourists alike. At times EXTREMELY BUSY ( usually between 4and 6 pm) but service is very efficent.Has indoor and out door seating👍
Great locally made ice cream (they even have vegan options) with an old school feel, they even sell merch inside (hoodies, shirts, onsies etc.) Staff was very friendly and helpful. They had covered seating outside. Place was very clean as well. On the back side they have a dinner that serves a wide variety of food options as well
Great place to get some fried chicken or just a dessert and enjoy time with your friends or family. Overall the food is good, although the sides are served in tiny containers and could be improved. The ice cream is fantastic! For some reason the drive thru goes right past the front door, so you can literally hit a car with the door as you walk out if someone happens to be driving through. Watch out!
Oh my goodness it was a delightful meal. They had so many choices. The chicken was awesome.the corn nuggets are to die for. They are huge. I definitely would recommend this to anybody in the area. The coke decorations are one of the best things about the place. I absolutely love that.the food was awesome, we had to get a box and take out leftovers home from our 2 piece chicken meal. Thanks for a great meal. We will be back!
They have fantastic icecream and their food is ok. However they are very expensive especially for their ice cream. It is good as its home made but not really a good value. Additionally they have now started to reduce their menu on the weekends, its a bit confusing as you start to order food and the counter worker has to point out which items they no longer carry on the weekend.
The ice cream here is amazing. Everything else was mediocre at best. The burgers were absolutely awful. Overcooked tasteless patties with way too much mayo and anemic vegetables. The french fries were bland. And the corn fritters that everyone raved about? Were just bland lumps of dough with a few kernels of corn in them. Im told that theyre famous for their chicken. But I think Id rather have just had a larger scoop of ice cream and called that dinner.
I go to this place all the time during my breaks from work and it has never let me or my friends down. The ice cream is on another level with countless quirky flavors to choose from. I have never tried their warm food but all of the people I know say that it is superb as well.
Amazing!! Love the custard flavors and the amazing ice cream sundaes they offer!! They also offer gluten free cones and are careful to ask if its an allergy and they change their gloves!! The grape custard is amazing and so is the pumpkin, cinnamon and peanut butter!!
If you dont have to wait in line here your doing good but that just means there that good. The homemade chicken and ice cream here is phenomenal. First have a fresh chicken meal with all sorts of extras and when your done you can have the best Ive cream around. All the stuff they make is fresh and homemade. Any time we go here its when we are passing thru the area of Penn Yan or Keuka lake. We make it a priority to stop and wait in any line they have for it. Definitely a highly recommended place to stop over and have a great bite and snack.
I would give them five stars for their fantastic ice cream but 1 star for the terrible food. Our fried chicken was dry, overbreaded and overcooked, the corn fritters were not much more than flour and a few kernels of corn, and the gravy on the okay mashed potatoes was bland and gluey.
Really great food and even better desserts. This place is kind of old but the food in genuine and their famous chicken is delicious. They are fast friendly and do a great job at serving quality food. When better is there dessert and homemade ice cream. Try anything in there and I promise you wont be disappointed.
Good food, fair prices, courteous service, well organized Covid separation compliance and the finishing touch, great homemade ice cream !Down the street is Indian Pines Park overlooking Keuka Lake - nice place to eat the meal or ice cream you picked up at Seneca Farms.
Rated one of the best places in upstate New York for ice cream, and theres a good reason for that! Their ice cream is amazing and delicious, and the service is quick and efficient. Beware that there may be a line at busier times of day, because this spot is so popular!
What an incredible place , the fried chicken was the bomb , couldnt believe how good it was , then up front in the ice cream parlor . all home made ice cream , and the peach ice cream was out of this world I highly recommend Seneca Farms , five star comfort food.... I already told my brother and 5 friends
My experience was positive here. I bought ice cream and a 3 piece chicken dinner. The chicken was superb . I was told it was the best around. It was excellent though I actual prefer the chicken at the star diner and cracker barrel when the have. Ive ever tasted such good corn fritters.thd other items such as Mac and cheese and coke slaw were good maybe slightly above average. The ice cream was a disapointment. Ive been here for ice cream 3 times. My main issue was a medium cone was 5 dollars and every time I received a smaller portion than expected. I get it, a medium is two scoops really small scoops. If I werent told it was homemade I wouldnt be able to tell. It was good but not good enough to warrant the price. Good overall but I wont be buying ice cream again and wont be 45 minutes. If Im in area Ill definitely get the chicken again.
The best ice cream I have ever had. The Fried chicken, while not the best Ive ever had is certainly delicious. The prices are resonable and the outdoor seeting is pretty nice. The lines may seem long, but they move along very fast and dont really take that long. Seneca Farms doesnt offer table service though, but the great food definitely makes up for it. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good food.
Great ice cream, good food, customer service is lacking. We asked for a low carb wrap instead of a roll. The answer was a flat no. No were sorry. No explanation. No customer service just no. This isnt the first customer experience like this but the strength of the no given spoke volumes.
Seneca Farms was able to not only get a giant order completed in short time, but while helping other customers. The icecream was cold, but the staff warm and friendly. The retro icecream-mobile outside provided a lot of laughs and fun for the group. An awesome experience!
Easily the best chicken in the area, and the side dishes are solid as well. Tons of outdoor seating, and the staff is taking things seriously and requiring masks, wiping things down and generally doing about all you can to keep customers safe. The corn fritters are a must-order item as well.
It used to be the place for chicken and ice cream. Their chicken has really gone way down hill in the past 5 years and way up in price. Which is sad. The ice cream prices are sky high. A medium twist and a regular Sunday will set you back almost $11!!!! Its a touristy place thats all. Locals go to Macs where you can get ice cream for a family of 3 for under $12 and they actually have good portions. If youre gonna pay their prices go to spotted duck youll get much better Ice cream.
Good ice cream. However, we stopped in because the big sign outside said, Fresh Peach Sundaes which was so appealing on a hot summer night. I was about half way through the sundae when I knew I was disappointed in it but wasnt sure why. Then someone else in our group said, Hey, this isnt peach ice cream. Its vanilla! I went up to the counter and asked about the sundae and they said they always make it with vanilla unless the customer requests peach! Really? Wouldnt you think the other way around? We assumed a peach sundae would be peach ice cream with fresh peaches. Or shouldnt they ask if the customer prefers peach or vanilla ice cream? That was a disappointment. Customers reading this, be sure to specify what kind of ice cream you prefer in your sundae or you will automatically get vanilla.

2021-07-23Excellent ice cream. Awesome place, plenty of outdoor seating with coverings to keep off the sun. Very clean and very friendly staff. Well definitely be back. Many flavors too choose from. Dont walk, run there its that good!

2021-07-23Sounds like a great place for fried chicken but the chicken tenders were big disappointment compared to the fried chicken legs and breast. Seems to me the the chicken tenders are more like run of the mill frozen tenders that are then dumped in the fryer. The highlight was certainty corn fritters which are a must try. The dipping sauces of honey mustard and blue cheese were on spot as well.

2022-06-17Very tasty frozen custard. Large portions for the price that theyre asking. On our second visit we had dinner. The Friday fish fry Haddock was excellent. Their fried Chicken left something To be desired. The breading had no flavor in the chicken was overcooked and dry. We were also very disappointed in the corn fritters.

2022-05-24We have been here in the past and our most recent visit was a huge disappointment.Had a 2 piece box with a chicken breast, leg and French fries, beans, and fritters. To go.The French fries cold and tasteless, the chicken was greasy and barely warm. We are the meals within 5 minutes after pickup. The food appeared to be sitting around for awhile instead of freshly prepared. Very disappointing!
