My mother is in the process of being transported from north shore hospital to a rehab center all the way east. They loaded her first and then locked her in the transport vehicle while going to collect a 2nd passenger and now they Are dropping off the 2nd passenger FIRST at a location way north, in glen cove! How do you leave someone almost 80 years old, coming out of the hospital in an uncomfortable position in a transport vehicle for going on 2 hours now, and your only at the first location! OMG use anyone else. Unless you enjoy getting a sobbing phone call from your loved one and feeling helpless, do not use this service.
I waited for almost one hour for them to come take my patient for her appointment. I called them three times and each time they said that they were 15 to 20 minutes away. They just didnt care about the fact that my patient is extremely sick and had to get to her appointment. They are the absolute worse
Picked up my husband 720pm from the hospital when he was supposed to be picked up at 400pm to be taken to rehab. Then he was left alone in the ambulette and the driver went to get another patient. I was never informed he would-be sharing a ride. My husband video calls me and says it was cold. I called the company and they said the driver said he left the heat on and was getting another patient. Then the driver comes and yells at my husband you called the company !!! What! Are you serious....completely unprofessional! I called the hospital case manager and made a complaint and when i called the company ..they gave the same story of they were going to check the cameras!! I will NEVER RECOMMEND OR USE THERE SERVICE AGAIN! UNPROFESSIONAL and dont care! Get another company! Dont waste time or money!
A few years back, I called SeniorCare ambulance for my pregnant cousin. We didn’t want to call 911 because the fdny ambulance would take her to the nearest hospital which wasn’t the hospital of her choice. The SeniorCare staff arrived quickly, they were highly professional and so gentle with her. I also have a neighbor that uses SeniorCare for dialysis transportation and he says the staff is amazing and always go above and beyond to make him comfortable. I highly recommend this company for any kind of emergency.
EMTs and drivers wonderful. THEY deserve 5 stars. The billing practices HORRIBLE. You think you have resolved an issue only to find out that they have opened a new account for each time the service is used. AND if the transport is coming from a residential care facility, you have no control. When you ask is my account cleared up and you are told it is, you get a notice a month later that you owe them another $1079 for a different date of service! And then it does go to collections.
Jesus Vasques has a green light to run the AMBULETTE side to the ground not to mention James Heffren also. They are the worst by ANY categories you can imagine. Worst pay for the amount work and driving you doing all over NYC including Long Island. If you are not a Spanish speaking person Jesus Vasques A.K.A “ J “ will make you unwanted, humiliated over there. They will have carry ppl sitting on wheel chairs carry them 5 flights of stairs without even training you to do these tasks with proper stairs chairs. The pay is total garbage for that type of physical work and it’s door to door which means you have to be inside some filthy places to drop ppl off. The owner or superior is to blame for the way they allow J running this mess for years now. I’ve work there for 5 yrs and call it quit. I regretted working there for so long. They have heavy favoritism there. Their vans are in bad shape. No heat or A.C at times. And management do not care about their employees.
Terrible service. We recently needed transport to the hospital. The overall care by the EMTs was half-hazard, and I serious doubt their competence if they were faced with large health issues. Further, the companys GPS gave a route to the hospital that took twice as long as the obvious route, on terrible roads, in a very uncomfortable van (shock absorbers would be good). The overall experience made the situation more stressful and we were just glad we made it to the hospital in one piece.
I reached out to someone I know in the company during professional week for my school. I asked them if there was any way I could have someone volunteer to come to the school and talk to my pre-K students and possibly give them the opportunity to explore the ambulance. This was made posible and it was such a wonderful experience for my little learners. They were so excited and at the end all got a little ambulance to take with them. Thank you so much for taking your time to serve the community.
My mother needed to be transferred from a hospital to a rehab facility. I got a call saying SeniorCare was unwilling to transport her unless we paid a deductible up front. I explained that I was in court and asked them to bill me. They repeated that they needed to be paid immediately, or they would not put my mother in an ambulance. The experience makes it absolutely clear that the companys priority is not patient care, and their customer service skills were non-existent. If you have an alternative, use it.
Hospital arranged this service to transport a friend recuperating from a car accident to a rehab over an hour away in rush hour traffic. They recommended an ambulate. First my friend was picked up from the orthopedic floor and left in the lobby alone for close to an hour with his surgically repaired legs left tied to the foot rests of wheelchair. The driver went to pick up another patient on another floor. The social worker at the hospital made the reservation, and asked me to call the service to provide payment info, which I did. At that time I asked the person taking the billing info to provide me a receipt. She said she would and and took my email address. After a week no receipt. Called today and spoke with customer service (billing dept. does not pick up or return phone calls after numerous attempts), who facilitated a call with billing. A person again took my email address and said the bill would be sent via email within the next 5 minutes. 8 hours later still no receipt. Lesson learned here, do not rely on hospital to select transport, instead be pro-active if you or a relative will require special medical transportation.
My neighbor called 911 for me in March when the city was shut down during Covid. They said under normal circumstances theyd take me in for a workup but they advised me not to go because hospitals were so dangerous. Eight months later I suddenly get a downgrade on my credit report - turns out theyve put me in collections for a bill Ive never seen. My insurance had denied the bill. Instead of rebilling, they billed me but sent the bill to someone else. In fact they expected me to pay on the spot without even seeing a bill! My health insurance has agreed to pay the bill but they finally sent it to me and it isnt even for service at my address. I was quarantined in my apartment at the time - they have me confused with someone else. Look up their Better Business Bureau rating before you pay their bill - its an F. They are not accredited.
Absolute worse possible service I’ve ever seen. Driver was 20 minutes late for no reason. Was not told and forced to share with another person, the driver is rude, mostly staring at his phone and leaves the doors and windows open on a 90 degree day in July. The driver literally parked the ambulette next to a garbage dumpster for 20 minutes to drop off someone else. A 2 pm pickup means a 4 pm drop off when you live 20 minutes away. Don’t waste your money and shame on Mt. Sinai-St. Luke’s for using this service!
I only give one star because you have to the drivers for the most part are ok Ive had horrible service with them for my father who has stage 4 throat cancer and has to be taken to radiation and chemo therapy they are consistently late or no shows that have taken him to the wrong hospital. He had surgery and can not speak so he writes down what he needs to say. He had to question why it was taking so long to get to his appointment when hes only 20 minutes away from the hospital and they had a different address. His paper work had the correct address. I am currently working with the nursing home to get them taken off as my fathers transportation company.
Like many here stated, they got 1 Star because that’s the lowest you can give to leave review. In my life I have never dealt with such level of inefficiency and lack of compassion. The hospital used their service to transport my dad home after an ER visit. My dad is a 76ur old amputee with a significant health history that includes dementia. The team that responded 3+hrs after my dad was discharged. the call was a young guy and an older man . The older man from the beginning said he cannot do any lifting or carrying and that he was taking us to the site and from there another team would bring my dad upstairs . My initial reaction was , if you can’t fulfill your responsibilities you don’t need to be working there. When we get to my dads apartment we had to wait over 2 hrs for another team to come. By then my dad was complaining of severe back pain and had urinated on himself😘. They are unprofessional and treat the elderly inhumanely.
I worked here as an emt for a year. After a while it was very obvious that the company cared more about money than they did about patients. Seniorcare has a problem assigning and sending out calls, that would lead to us emt’s sometimes getting assigned a call to a pick up very late. Most patients and staff think we are late on purpose or because we’re lazy, and do not realize it’s dispatch who doesn’t give us the call on time. Seniorcare does not care about this problem because they only want their money. Seniorcare also does not care much about their employees, especially the EMT’s. Paramedics were treated a little better. Most employees quit after less than a few months, and almost all of my partners had the same complaints and bad experiences. Being an emt here was a terrible experience, and dealing with the higher up supervisors was very upsetting at times and made me feel like I wasn’t getting anything done communicating with them. I regret having worked here so much and I would avoid their services if I could.
I give 5 Stars!!! Because the Professionalism, Respect and Caring of all the EMT worker whom have pick my Momma and I up from various places. Normally their on time, But sometimes due to other Emergency pick ups and bad weather it could be a little longer wait time but overall I have no Complaints. I Feel Youll Has done such a Fantastic job that I (Helena Scott) just have to say Senior Care Ambulance EMT Workers You ROCK Keep Up The Wonderful Job. May God Continue Bless You All
I’ve never personally used them however my moms doctors office called them to pick her up and transport her to the hospital. She is a cancer patient whose numbers were extremely low so they wanted to ensure safe & secure transport. 5pm the patient is ready for transport. 5:30 passes, 6:00 passes, 6:30 passes, 7:00 passes, still no ambulance/car. 7:05 we get notice that the driver is 5min away. Wait, there’s more.. 7:30, still no ambulance. I get the name of the company from the nurse and proceed to call them, the young lady at the desk initially sounds nice, then proceeds to seem annoyed at me that WE’VE been waiting 2 and a half hours and have the nerve to call to ask questions. I will definitely be speaking with the doctors office should a need arise again I will refuse the service for my mother.
Senior Care - Be careful with these guys. They want you to pay for expenses up front rather than deal with Medicare. A family member had to be transported outside the covered radius for ambulance transportation because no nearby facility would admit my dad. We tried 5-7 facilities. No facility would take him with aPIK line. Eventually we found a facility that would take him. Since it was outside the radius that Medicare would cover, Senior Care charged us (up front) $770.00 to take him outside the covered radius (approx 60 miles). This is from the Medicare website under Ambulance Services... If no local facilities are able to give you the care you need, Medicare will pay for transportation to the nearest facility outside your local area that’s able to give you necessary care. Senior Care is LAZY! They do this thousands of times a week! How do they not know this? Its because they do. They just want their money now! They should not have charged my familty $770.00. They should have submitted the the 5-7 denials provided by the hospital social worker with their own claim. Extreme Laziness. Now I have to chase down the denials and submit an appeal. Be aware with Senior Care!
They trespassed into our apartment, because our landlord let them in. She was concerned because I had just had a miscarriage and was recovering. (Our landlord is super dramatic and decided I need an ambullette to get to some doctor at Cornell Hospital.) NOT OK. iT IS VERY TRAUMATIZING TO BE WOKEN UP TO OPEN UP OR WE ARE CALLING 911. I dont blame the men who came, the landlord told them an untruth, that our apartment belonged to her and she lived there. However, I am giving one star due to the trespassing and interrogation that followed.
Waited at South Nassau for two hours for transport from ER to home. Totally unacceptable! The ER called several times I called personally one only to be told theyll be there. First it was 3:00 then they said in 45 minutes by 4:20 Erica said in twenty minutes. Whats sad, they blamed it on the time springing up. Really!? What happen to the professionalism!? Out the window
If I could give no stars I would. Received a bill from them that my 27 yr old son was transported to a hospital. He never rode in their ambulance or seen at the hospital where he was transported. Today received a letter from collections. I will fight this by filing a complaint with their office and the NYS Attorney General office for fraudulent practices.
Unprofessional, Disgusting, incompetent, arrogant. Always late and very rude. I waited 5 hours for a pick-up and when they finally came they didn’t even apologize. They had a don’t ask don’t care attitude as if they were indispensable. Worse service ever. If their were a space for 0 star then that would be it.
I had to give a star to write this.I was driving on Sunrise Hwy just past Rockville Centre when a family of Gooses were walking across the street in a line as they do.I slow up as does everyone else and wait.A Senior Care EMS truck sees them has over 100 feet to stop but keeps going and goes right thru them hitting one of them knocking him over.I chased after the truck,Get the # and the truck #.Then i go back and the Goose somehow made it across to the grass. He wasnt with his flock and it was obvious he was injured.Amazingly not dead.I called an Amazing sanctuary in Massapequa.I waited the 45 min until he showed up.He used a net and we saved the Goose.I called and spoke to one of the bosses and he said they had cameras in all trucks and they would take a look and call me back.No call.Called the next day spoke to a women who said they would talk to the 2 men in the truck and let me know.No call back.I SWEAR this is a true story. This is NOT the Company you want to be in charge of transporting your loved ones.AWFUL people.

2022-05-06Very pleased with the entire experience. My mother is very elderly and each time weve called 911 the only option has been to go the nearest hospitals which are all unfortunately two-star hospitals. Luckily she was not in critical condition where that was needed. Did research after her last hospitalization to see what other transport options were out there and decided to call SeniorCare so we could go to a different hospital. Very pleasant and professional on the phone and they arrived very quickly. They said 15 to 20 minutes and they arrived in 15 minutes. The EMTs were professional patient and courteous. The only criticism is that they need to be mindful of wearing masks at all times. Other than that, very happy and very grateful and will absolutely reach out again if we can use SeniorCare.

2022-04-28My wife was recently transported from hospital to home in Brooklyn and the crew could not have been more professional, compassionate and responsive. You could see they really cared and did all they could to allay her fears. The process, coordination among team members ,and equipment were all superior. They did their best to minimize her discomfort.Their professionalism made what could have been a horrible experience as smooth as possible.

2022-05-16If I can give them negative 100 stars I would but they are lucky the system is MAKING me put one star at least. Can anyone imagine that I have been waiting for their service to take us home for 10 hours? It sounds like a funny movie clip but ITS NOT. I have been waiting them since I was discharged at 11 AM. Abmbulette service verified at 2 pm...ok.. they gave us a 7:30 pick up time...fine....No, not fine, they never showed up....we all again....they say they are running late will be there at 8:30....I said ok.....now its 10 pm and no one is here , what kind of disgusting service is this?????????????????? and u want stars????????????

2022-06-04Not okay. I was run over on my bike and called 911. Senior care showed up and did a quick assessment. I did NOT drive with them, I did NOT sign anything nor did they advise me of a cost and now they are sending me bills. I’m not even a senior SMH.Lack of transparency is predatory.UPDATE: This company continues to send me notices even though I have contacted them with the details of the above. Awaiting a supervisor response while being in final notice is completely unethical. You did not provide any medical services.

2022-05-03Terrible experiences multiple times. They strand you with a wheelchair patient for hours waiting for a ride after an appointment. Booking times mean nothing and patients are treated like inhuman packages.

2022-02-2310/22/2020 - I was recently transported by this so called ambulance service. The EMT was extremely rough with me and treated me like a sack of potatoes. No compassion whatsoever and very unprofessional with vulnerable patients. I may have gotten a particular bad apple, but they should have cameras set up to make sure these people are held accountable. Pick a different ambulance company if you want to get there with some dignity and respectful service.*2/23/2022 Update* I just noticed that the owners responded to my initial review more than a year late. This fact alone should tell you all you need to know about this business. Apparently, care is NOT their first priority.

2021-08-20More like Senior DON’T Care! My father was in a facility for short term rehab. He was transported to his doctor appointment by this company. We were instructed to call when we were done for pick up. It took them 2 1/2 hr to pick him up!! There was another resident that waited 3 hrs to be picked up! This is a senior transportation company for God’s sake! Many of them are diabetic, which means they need to eat and take medication at a certain time and many are taking diuretics which means they have to constantly go to the bathroom or have to urinate in their disposal underwear until they reach their facility. When he was waiting to be transferred from the hospital to the facility we were waiting all afternoon. They finally showed up in the late afternoon. The nurse made sure to inform us that they had been there for a WHILE, but they were running their mouth with the receptionist!!! How inconsiderate and inhumane to treat seniors in that matter!!

2021-12-13I had rapid labor and when they arrived they misplaced one of the umbilical cord clamps (which I found on the counter a week later) and didn’t clamp me and then the wrapped my baby in cotton. He arrived to the hospital with severe hypothermia and I hemorrhaged and nearly bled to death. Then after my insurance paid they continued to bill me repeatedly despite conference calls with my insurance confirming the bill had already been paid.
