SEPHORA in other cities:
Staffs here are useless, they will not help you with anything even if you approach them, I usually go world trade center and bay ridge sephora they are super amazing and very helpful but this was my first time visiting here and my experience was HORRIBLE! Sephora please give them some training how to greet and help customers.
Don’t expect an apology from the workers at this store if they made a mistake. My sister was approached by the security guard, who said “you want to take the things out of your bag?”. When my sister asked why, he said he saw her on the security camera putting products in her bag (which was her phone charged to a 10 ft portable charger wire) but I guess he thought something else. My sister voluntarily took every single thing out right away and showed it to him. He seemed disappointed since he didn’t find anything and left us to explain to another coworker of his. I think if they saw clearly, they would’ve seen my sister putting her wire back in her bag like a spaghetti sting, standing near the cashier’s table in an open space (middle of the store). Honestly I understand misunderstanding can happen but we were left with other costumers staring at us. My sister told my friend to put her things back because she felt uncomfortable to purchase here. We waited on the side as my friend finished buying his stuff and simply left. No one ever approached us with an apology or an explanation that there was a misunderstanding.
I discovered Sephora in 1999 while on vacation in Nassau Bahamas. I remember feeling like a kid in a candy store lol. After returning to NYC, I was happy to find one located in SoHo. I’ve been a loyal customer evr since, which is why, the poor service I experienced at their 34th street store on 4/22/2022 left me feeling a bit disturbed, disheartened in the brand tbh. I won’t go into detail, it would take too long, but I would suggest retraining the staff at this particular store, on how to interact with customers. If nothing else, they definitely need to be reminded how important each customer is, especially since Macy’s is directly across the street, and I for one, have NO problem taking my business elsewhere. In fairness, the 34th st Sephora is the only location I have ever experienced such poor customer service so I’m hoping this was just an isolated incident…it would be a shame for a few untrained employees to tarnish the brand.
PATRICK PATRICK PATRICK!!! Thank you for being so knowledgeable, patient, and for making me feel so welcomed. You are truly one of a kind!I truly appreciate you and the exchange we had, I love my new perfumes and will be coming back to you, again, and again, and again! Lol
Racist lunatics. Disgusting place. If you’re wearing hijab their chances of coming near you is zero to non. What a bad customer and the blonde lady with flags on her head was the rudest of them all. Don’t not go there if you respect yourself and your religion. Bunch of Islamophobes. Never been more disgusting by other humans in my life. I must say they made me regret my every purchase from Sephora today.
4/20/22 a little after 5:00pm I was ignored twice , no one is hardly on the floor to help.. they appear “busy” but they don’t be. I walked up to two managers I’m assuming because they had red badges I saw they were talking so I politely said excuse me then I asked them if someone can help me they stared at me then seem to be annoyed with disgusting looks on their faces so I said okay nvm it’s fine then both laughed as I walked away I will never give this store my money I kindly walked across the street Ulta and spent my hard earned money there.
Great selection of products. Staff here is rude and are always judge-mental when anyone walks through the door with a hoodie or not, but what can you expect from Sephora workers. Ulta is way better. Sadly Ulta don’t have a bigger selection of products. Only reason I still continue to shop at Sephora as little as possible however .
I was approached by an Asian woman pretending to be a Sephora employee. She didn’t have a name tag and didn’t give me her name. She is likely Chinese. She wouldn’t properly assist with any questions I had and had no knowledge about products so she was not a real employee. I was previously harassed by individuals in California (mostly Asian) while in nyc.
Great staff! Well most of them.. but I love this store because it’s complete and well staffed. It has a lot of collection and services!I love doing my Perk service here as well. Usually packed and the line can be long but they always add the registers, so it’s good. I love their classes, too. Very interesting and fun! It’s also handy because it’s close to big subway station at Herald Square and there are many shops around as well.
One of the best Sephora experiences I’ve had in a while. I’m a huge makeup girl but never go into Sephora looking like it 😭. I came here today and was pleasantly surprised by the new layout leaving it more space to move around, about 4 employees helped me and went above and beyond to get items if they weren’t on the shelves. With all the help I bought everything I needed plus more, they all also seemed pretty knowledgeable about products. Thanks 34th street a seamless, smooth experience!
I was racially profiled here . The buff Spanish or white security guard followed me and my friend around the store for 30 plus minutes as were were waiting to get our skin toned match then proceeded to come up to us asking if we had a problem very aggressively . If I could give 0 stars I would for the blatant racism in 2022 .
I went for a 60 min makeup session ahead of a professional photo shoot. My beautician was very kind and soft spoken but she needed so much guidance while doing my makeup. I wasn’t happy with the end result and I totally felt like it was a waste of $60 (plus tip). Also- I have dark skin but my undertone is yellow. She put makeup on me that made me look red. Other people noticed as well! There’s always someone stealing from this location so there are cops constantly walking around- Uncomfortable to shop. They have plenty of items in stock (prime location) so I’ll return if I must shop in-person but I will never waste my money getting my makeup done here.
I had such an amazing visit thanks to Roxie! I’ve been on a search for a new foundation and felt hopeless. She was very knowledgeable about products, benefits and offered tons of recommendations for my skincare/makeup needs. I appreciate her expertise. Her jovial and welcoming personality made shopping with Sephora fun and easy. I came in for a return and ended up purchasing 4 full sized products (and she recommended best sellers that I have to check for when they come back in stock). I’ve shopped with Sephora for years and never left a review, however after my encounter, I felt compelled to share my wonderful experience. She is a valuable asset to the team and I wish there were more people working in the beauty industry with her level of skill and expertise. My self confidence was boosted immediately and my mood was elevated. I felt valued as a customer and no amount of words cannot express how much I enjoyed my visit to Sephora. Overall, the staff was friendly and the store is well maintained. Keep up the amazing work!
I came here on the day of a Fenty release and the staff was so welcoming. Sara was getting called by so many customers but when she got to me she was so patient. Color matched me, trained me on concealer application, and up sold me on additional products that I felt comfortable using. Sometimes women are insecure shopping at makeup stores but she made feel at ease. She checked me out and I swear I would come back to shop just off her experience alone.
This Sephora has nearly everything in stock. They always give the best service. It’s clean. The associates are attentive and polite. The service here in 34th street is truly on point. My most recent visit was to get a full faceand I had Kristina as a make up artist. she went above and beyond to give me the best look for my birthday. She is so patient, caring, sweet, nice, kind, charismatic and has so much integrity. Even with the fact that I was 10 mins late .. she still helped me. Honestly Kristina is an absolutely beauty doctor. Thank you Kristina and thank you Sephora for always choosing the right make up artist.
I am so shocked by the quality of care I received today that I had to write a review. I had an associate ask me if I needed assistant the moment I walked in. After helping me for about 20 minutes she was called to leave but instantly brought in someone to replace her to continue helping me. These employees were so kind and patient! You guys have an amazing team! Everyone - from the greeters up front to the girl at the cash register.. really quality customer care. Thank you Sephora 34th Street!
Unfortunately, my experience with Sephora..after many years being an online customer, I come back to the store, and the salesperson just decided to be rude to me for an innocent complaint..during the previous visit I was given a gift face serum in the blue tube after opening it had a strong spoiled odor I stopped by the store during the following week for return and was hoping to exchange my gift after I explained the problem....salesperson did not apologize ...she just looked at me head to toe and asked: oh.. so... you wanted to return it??? and yes she makes sure am uncomfortable as I can be. I care less about many things but I just cant tolerate rudeness..so online shopping- thank you for the existence!!
This location has more products that what I like other than that their makeup services are horrible. Makeup artist that we pay to get it done doesnt want to do the way you asked them. They give you attitude as they want to do them in shortcut. Overall had bad experience too many times here. Do not waste your time and money here try to go at a different location.
What do you know, Sephora is wishy washy when it comes to quality customer service. Case in point Kenya. She is someone who has no clue on how to effectively do her job, detracts from Sephora’s image of being fabulous, energetic and all about beauty. Ulta on the other hand which is a few blocks away, nailed it. This is no ad for Ulta. What you would expect at Sephora, i.e. Sephora being a “premium brand” lending itself over to premium service, it just doesn’t happen at this location. Maybe Sephora should stop purporting themselves to be something they’re not. Ulta never claimed to be “premium” yet they did it better. Will not be returning. Ever.
I feel that the ladies at the register and some on the floor are not as motivated to assist you as they were before the pandemic. The store is not as full yet I find myself waiting to see if I can get some assistance. They rarely ask if I want to use my points. If I am looking for an item they dont have stock they really offer alternatives. I reverted back to buying at Macys again. Service is everything.
I was helped by Ashton today when looking for the right color match for face powder. I was expecting him to quickly suggest a color but instead he left what he was doing and tried several shades on my face. He picked up a concealer and thoroughly gave me the look I was going for! He suggested other AMAZING products and next thing I know, he is giving me a full glam beat! Ashton is very pleasant and informative on how to apply makeup and basically changed my life! I was extremely happy with my experience today with him! Ashton took his time on me and is super talented! I can’t wait to wear my new goodies! Thanks Ashton!
My friend is a frequent buyer at this Sephora location. The Staff are typically welcoming and awesome. But today , oh today..Today was a little different . My friend excitedly prepared to go to the register to purchase her awesome toolkit was rudely introduced by an oddly very aggressive and unfriendly Simore. The minute we approached we can sense unwanted hostility. No smile or eye contact and a rather an aggressive tone. And when she scolded my friend for reasons we still don’t know why. My best buddy asked for a manager. Than we were introduced to a Maria...Maria didn’t rectify the problem and it sort of felt like she made things worse and undermined us. She couldn’t ring up the items. We did it three times and my friend had to throw in the towel and leave. She wouldn’t even write her name and Simone when we asked. When my pal asked for rectification of time wasted and rudeness. All she could offer was an apology and a grand number to the hotline. But she refused to write her name. My friend asked a few times. But was ignored . Sephora is not always like this , but this one experience sadly is all the enough reason to never go there again.
The cashier did allow me to get my birthday gift because it has been past 3 months since my birthday. She was nice but as a Rouge, you can pick up your birthday gift any day all year round, once. She made me look dumb and I will never support this store again. They need to teach their employees the ethics of Sephora all over again.
I love this place. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because not all the sales representative are familiar with every type of skin and type of makeup. I have been in search for a full coverage foundation for normal to extremely oily skin (my face will be dry in the morning and very oily comes 1pm) and every single time I get different answers from their sales rep. They know their makeup, but only for their own type of skin. They need to have a class for all employees so they can help all types of customers with different types of skins. They should know all brands and types of makeup that they sell and what who they would benefit. Only because Nars works on a certain type of skin, doesnt mean it will do wonders on say dry skin. They should be aware of that so they can really HELP every customer. Im sure if they did educate their employees they would have a huge decrease in returns.
I came here and had a hilarious, awesome, no pressure experience with a worker in skincare. She help me find what I needed, didnt pressure me to over by, and answered my questions honestly and with a great sense of humor. Sometimes in Sephora I get a lot of pressure from people whose makeup sensibilities are not like mine, but she is quite good at her job.
I got full face makeup applied today by Diane and she was amazing! I am not a makeup wearer and she made me feel and look beautiful without feeling like I had a mask on. I would definitely go back if I can guarantee she can be my makeup artist! Sweet and talented! Thank you Diane!
Im an African American woman and at this particular Sephora, I felt like the women of other nationalities were more helpful and really were more productive and professional. It seemed like Everytime I went to the women of my race for help or to ask questions, they were acting bothered and had very bad customer service. I really couldnt believe it
So Im big on customer service and the girl that helped me pick out my foundation to powder and primer for my skin type was so awesome. Her name was Anna and she came off very sweet and helpful. I originally wanted to try out the color face matching but the product wasnt working unfortunately so she had to get several different shades of foundation to match my skin type but she succeded! This is a very busy store mainly because you are in the city!!!!! and the location is great for tourists and travelers. I read some reviews before I stopped by this store and that goes to show you that not everyone is rude or unhelpful I am a new customer here at this Sephora but I will be going back thanks to Anna!!!
I love and have had interactions with excellent staff at many city sephora locations, but this one is the exception. Perhaps the crowded area makes staff tense, but everytime I leave Im frustrated by some rude or snappy sales associate. Is this acceptable via sephoras standards? Im confused.
Love this sephora staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Huge shootout to Niveck he was sooo helpful and willing to go the extra mile when I had some questions. Very patient and knew even the ingredients in products. Please give him a huge shout out. Will be coming back!!!
The male manager is wonderful. Ive been a customer at Sephora stores all over the country, and have never experienced service this bad. After 6 years of over one thousand dollars spent every year to acquire the meaningless status of Rogue, I was treated awfully upon exchanging an item I had already purchased (insanity), by a blonde sales associate named Anna, who threw my items across the counter back at me, refused to help me, told me she had to get the manager who helped me in a mere second, and then shoved the successfully exchanged item back at me as well. I had already been speaking with an associate who was helping me for about half an hour, Anna being stationed at the register next to her, hearing the communicative exchange, before refusing to help me when it was her queued turn to do so. I will not ever spend a single cent in a Sephora store again. Thousands every year for an employee to purposely attempt to make me feel bad. Disgusting.
As a huge makeup lover I’m always at this Sephora and I honestly prefer it than any other one, I asked the manager, I believe his name was Adam or Anthony if I can apply my own makeup on my friend and he was more than accommodating. Super friendly and approachable. The whole staff is, very helpful as well. Closest Sephora to my job so I will be returning many times to come.
This is the worst customer service I ever had in Sephora - especially on skincare don’t go there. Today I went to ask for a mini facial and they left me waiting and told me someone will be with you in one minute. After like 15 minutes waiting I asked one of the girls - and someone came to tell me that sorry no - we are too busy now. Yes they were busy giving free samples to people that only get samples and they didn’t have the time to take care of a customer who is rouge. This is wrong, don’t go there . Is too busy lots of homeless people and they don’t have time for you. I’m a rouge and I saw below someone had the same experience. Listen to your clients Sephora !!!!!
Terrible service. I send my mother to get a sample of a moisturizer because I am always at work. She went on her break and they said they don’t give samples at the store but I’ve gotten samples from other stores. I am a ROGUE member and the service at this store is not worth the amount of money I spend at Sephora. The workers stated that I can come in and try it. The store just lost a customer.
I love this Sephoras branch. There is a wide selection. I must commend the make up specialist for her professional advice in choosing the perfect shades of foundation and powder that suits my skin. Id give her a 5 star rating for the services i received. Thank you Tracy for your warm and friendly hospitality.
Got my make-up done by Amanda V. for my bday. She was INCREDIBLE!! Totally sweet, super knowledgeable, and amazingly talented. She made me feel like a queen. She recommended great products, and took me out of my comfort zone for a flawless look. I was walking on cloud nine after her consult. She was amazing!
Update: ok seriously? TRAIN YOUR STAFF. Wow. Nicki was probably the rudest SA I’ve ever come across, anywhere. Nasty b*tchy attitude, pointing out the wrong direction for brands because she clearly doesn’t care at all, interrupting, talking over customers, just all around appalling behavior. Then there was another SA at the benefit section who drew brown eyebrows on me like she was a kid coloring in with crayons. Wow.Beautiful store with a great selection but the staff... ugh. A few were ok, such as a gentleman working in the skincare section and one brunette girl who actually took her time to swatch multiple foundations on me and answer my questions. Most of the staff, however, will just ignore you or give you a massive attitude as if they’re so much better than the customer all because they fancy themselves as makeup artists. What a joke. They also clearly give preferential treatment to some customers over others. Lots of training needed.
Sephora is great only for certain brands like my favorite lipstick and liquid base foundation. Do your research online. This review is not for pricing as online pricing is now unbeatable. Staff is knowledgeable for sure. Line goes quick. This place is particularly crowded and full of tourists as it is near Macys and The Empire State Building.
I have been going to Sephora Store for years. This is my most favorite go to place for beauty products. I spent there few hundred dollars a month. Today I went there to purchase a facial cream and primer. I was also looking to purchase a makeup set do a highlight and contour and I asked one of sale people if I could have a mini make-over to learn how to apply this type of makeup. I was initially told yes. The person told me I needed to wait 15 minutes, but I could pay for my products in a meanwhile. After waiting over 20 minutes, the makeup artist rudely told me that they are busy and they do not have time for me. I’m very disappointed. I don’t think I will visit Sephora any time soon
I’ve come here on multiple occasions and each time I go it’s like my experience gets worse and worse. My most recent experience was in December. Since then I haven’t been back. It honestly made me not want to stop going to Sephora in general but after some time I knew that was extreme lol. I love Sephora. So I went in around December to spend some money cause I was a Rouge member and I had to spend a certain amount to maintain my status. I came in ready to shop till I dropped. When I got to the store it was pretty empty so I was excited because if you’ve ever been to this location you know it’s always super crowded. I wanted to buy a bunch of things but needed help and some advice on some good brands and help finding a good shade. So I asked a woman for help by the beauty consultation booth. She said she would get someone which she did. The lady that helped me had an attitude helping me and to make it worse it was like she was in a rush to help me which I don’t understand why since the store was practically empty. She basically told me what my color was then showed me the options on the kios and left me alone even though I told her I had more questions. I tried not to let that get me into a bad mood so I tried to get someone else to help but it was like everyone there that wasn’t already helping a customer was trying to avoid customers. So I just gave up and got a couple lipsticks. When I got to the register, I asked the cashier girl if she could look up what I got a gift card for and put it into a new one since I lost it. She told me I couldn’t which was weird to me because I had 2 associates one named Christina and the other one I forgot her name but they both said you could. It’s not a big deal just wish I wasn’t told false info. I use to love going into Sephora after this incident I don’t.
I came in looking or sensitive products for my skin and was directed by a gentleman to the skincare section. There a nice women with a cute accent helped me out. Compared to the 1st floor the lady on the 2nd floor was nicer. When you enter the people get mad when you ask them for help. Like hello? Im buying! They were mean and were easily irritated. The cashiers were far more friendly. I seriously believe sephora needs to check their staff service. Never coming back!
What a disappointment. Beautiful store in the heart of NYC but the staff is a joke. I walked into the store around 10:45am knowing exactly what product I wanted, just wanted some help making sure I was getting the correct color. I stood waiting for a few minutes hoping someone would check in with me but nothing. I finally walked up to someone to ask for help and was told its a self service store in the morning because of limited staff (lots of employees standing around, glad you had enough people to walk around asking people if they would like a basket) You lost a customer this morning, I receive better service at Ulta.
I was shopping for some of my favorite products at the 34th herald square location. Everyone was very helpful but one person stood out and it was the manager named Stephanie she was wearing a beautiful holiday hat on and as I complimented her she immediately took it off and gave it to me so sweet of her to do this love the gesture :)
Is it me or does everyone that works here seem to have a nasty attitude and just not want to be bothered? I came in here with my sister a little over an hour before closing. My sister doesnt know too much about makeup so I asked around for assistance in obtaining her color IQ and suitable foundation product. Everyone just seemed very stand off-ish and irritated. I didn’t feel comfortable. The woman who did come to help us seemed to have this weird attitude. She barely made eye contact and often walked off in the middle of talking to us about products or techniques. Just not welcoming at all. I didn’t feel my sister’s first experience in a Sephora location was a pleasant one. Sucks. I’ll continue to order online if this is what in-store experiences are like.
I went into this Sephora location and received the worst customer service ever!I was in the store browsing and trying on products for about 30 minutes and it was like pulling teeth to receive any type of assistance. I had to walk up to sales representatives to ask questions & even then they were extremely short and some disrespectful. One rep (who I believe was a manage) interrupted my conversation to tell the other rep theres no such thing as a better brand because its all a matter of preference! Yet I was asking for an OPINION on highlighters. She then proceeded to tell me that bronzers dont work well for us (blacks) and that they wont work on my complexion at all. Meanwhile I was asking for a HIGHLIGHTER and not a bronzer. They would have known that had they not cut me off, while trying to explain. How dare she use colorism to insult me on a product that I wasnt even inquiring about?!There was another associate, who was the most pleasant out the bunch of sour apples. However, I asked her opinion about the Fenty Highlighters and asked her to SHOW me the best method to apply the highlighter since I dont have definite cheekbones. She told me she suggests using the fan brush thats in the Sephora Collection section and points to it, but meekly told she couldnt walk over to that section with me. I assume she was restricted to that zone in the store but that is no excuse to not take a 30 second walk then return back to that area. She verbally instructed me on the best application technique and I had to apply it on my own. While I watched several white women receiving full customer experiences and makeovers! (Again, I came into this establishment with ONE definite 2-part question and never got a direct answer/DEMONSTRATION.)The worst part about my experience was that a majority of the staff was of color and made a constant effort to service mainly white women throughout the store. The more I thought about this experience, the more angered I became. 30+ minutes and most of the staff didnt even want to make eye contact with me... disgusting. I looked directly at nearby representative multiple times and she ignored me the entire time. I honestly left feeling insulted and belittled by this experience. I could tell it was assumed I wasnt of value and wasnt willing to pay. I would have been a great customer to up-sell to since my I was so inquisitive and obviously not as familiar with a variety of makeup products. I will NEVER walk into this store location again!Sephora, do better in enforcing inclusion and not dismissing people for whatever racial bias your staff members may have!
I came in today for an exfoliating mini Facial. Ruana did my facial today; she was very lovely! Her skincare recommendations and tips were spot on. My skin feels incredible. I would highly recommend Ruana if your looking to get an skincare service or need skincare advice.
Signed up for a beauty class no seats were available spent 40 minutes in traffic to come to then be told after 15 minutes they cut off people so why did I have a reservation??? It was 8:08 not worth the travel not coming back wont waste the energy. Like most big stores the policies are on a case by case basis also got no phone call to confirm my attendance like other sephoras do for classes
VERY RUDE WORKER!I went into sephora today with my younger brother and his friend to buy a Vitamin C facial oil. On the way in to the store we saw the color ID scanners just sitting on the self. They were out in the open with no saying not to touch in a store full of products that say try me. So we decided to try and see how the machine works to find my color ID thinking it was self serviceAn extremely rude make up artist came up screaming at my brothers friend. All she had to do was nicely say those are not supposed to be touched my customers can I help you. Instead she walk up with an attitude and accusations. In the last week Ive spent over $200 in sephora and neither I nor my family members deserve as paying customers to be treated in such a way. I wish I had received this makeup artists name. I am extremely unsettled about the treatment we received at this location.
The worst Sephora Ive been to in my whole!! The initial salesperson sorbet twice as long trying to explain where the a Fenty cosmetics were than it wouldve taken to walk us back there. Once we found it we were passed to 3 different associates before my daughter could get a foundation color match. The match was way off and the associates response was that is always off. She seriously had no idea what she was doing. Before leaving I decided I would ask a quick question about a product...at least two employees looked me dead in my face and then ignored me... At that point I had had enough and left. Wish I could give then zero stars.
I had a wonderful experience in your 34th street Manhattan location yesterday. I am terrible at applying lip liner and lip stick, but wanted to wear some to a special occasion. I went in, purchased some by smashbox, and then asked if someone could help me apply it. The girl who helped me was petite (about 53, thin), shoulder length brown hair, and of Latina descent. She was so sweet, empathetic to my needs, and very talented. I forget her name unfortunately. I wanted to still write in, in case you would know who i was talking about. She is a star at sephora and deserves praise.
The employee Macciel was a major help/assistance. I came in looking for a dewy finish foundation that match my skin tone and she did a great job, despite the fact I didnt like many of the matches, she was patient and she even helped me take off the foundation(s) she applied on my face. I also asked her if her location was hiring and she guided me through the process. Shes really sweet and amazing!
The staff was the best part of this place. You can find a Sephora anywhere, but a sweet and helpful staff is always appreciated. My skin hates new York city. Im dry, broken out, and its very unpredictable. I asked Sephora for a few samples to see what would work for me . I appreciate that. Often times with skin care, Ill buy some thing and then have to return it because it breaks me out. Bought my favorite bare minerals warmth bronzerIts a must !! Glowing goddess color!
In case you are at the Sephora - 34th street store and need a professional, knowledgeable beauty advise + you are on a budget - look for Melissa (Sephora counter). You will not be disappointed. In 8 minutes - I was able to pick a lipstick, lip balm, lip pencil, and complimentary as I call it “cherry on a top” perfectly done “Smokey eyes”.
Little confusingly laid out but its a good, full size Sephora. Will be able to find what you need for sure, and this one feels over staffed which is great for having someone help you out or just point you in the right direction (seriously someone is standing ready to help every couple feet).
This is the worst sephora I have ever been to. They never have anything you need on stock. The sales associate is nowhere to be found and when you do find one they are always either rushing you or trying to get you to buy things you dont need. I purchased my product from the associate with the little card reader by the exit where the security guard stands and I told her to email me the receipts and I proceeded to walk out the door. The security proceededs to stop me and asks me for the receipt. Mind you I paid for my item already. So I told the associate did I not just pay for this. She told the security guard that I am good to go. First of all does your company not train people well or what. What kind of bs customer service is this. This is ridiculous and I am not shopping here anymore.
Was there with my wife, it was like Disneyland for her. Hung out with the other orphaned husbands. You should serve beer or soft drinks, and snacks to those poor lost souls. Service was really good, I had plenty of time to watch the employees work and they were hustling and helping all sorts of people.
Typically get most of my skin care items on the Sephora website but today I chose to go on my break and I am glad I did. Besides the lengthy line , Joey ( register ) was informative in helping me choose which gift I should choose with my reward points. Customer service in midtown retail stores are almost always non existent. So some recognition is in place when the service outshines the standard.
Came here last minute to get my make-up done and to my surprise there was a cancellation. Tanique was super amazing--she took her time and made sure I loved the look before I walked out the door. Also, was recommended some products which I now love--such as laniege lip balm and murad scar treatment---
I hang around for 30 minutes on a Wednesday evening hoping to catch an associate’s attention. There was one talking to a lady next to me who was shopping for her daughter. She sounded like she could use some space. When I was finally able to stop someone hurrying by, she did not tell me whether or not she would come back with more information. She simply mumbled a sorry I almost didn’t catch and went away. The four items I needed are regular purchases for me, just pick and go. She stayed long enough for me to mention only one. Why does a big Sephora store like this one have better trained associates?
Very dissappointing store experience. Ive been at this location on at least 4 separate occasions between Nov and Dec 17. The store associates sophmorically project that the customers are beneath them are extremely rude and dismissive. They will flatly tell you an item is out and not offer any other buying options such as suggesting a different Sephora store location. The only store assistance you can count on is from the loss prevention team who quickly size you up at the door and signal to each other through their headpiece. I only buy here for gift giving and will explore other options at other retailers going forward including Macys which is right across the street.
Ok I completely understand that this is a high volume store and youre always really busy but Ive also worked in retail and I am able to understand that you still need to always be polite to the customers. Please do a better job in training your employees and helping them understand the meaning of customer service.
Worst of Sephora locations on Manhattan. Just came out of the store slightly shocked. If I could I’d put ZERO. I had never experienced such a terrible customer service in Sephora.First of all the entire store is messy as hell, half of the samples and actual products are missing! The other half of samples is sooo dirty that you will never ever want to touch them.Second, the associates are non-cooperative, as if they want to get rid of you asap. It appears that they cannot help you if you are in the “wrong” section. I learned this in perfumes after 5 minutes trying to find help in makeup. On the checkout cashier asks, if anyone helped me to find my products. LOLA piece of advice for management: take a look on how your colleagues do their job at Sephora Columbus Circle (a hint: always excellent!)
Not impressed with the workers there. Everyone I approached for help would send me to someone else. It got to the point that the last girl ( the 5th person I asked to help me locate a product) said shes busy doing something and I just walked to the door, she ran up to me and apologized, I told her I had asked many others before her and she then helped, I never had this issue at other locations.
Although 34 street herald square is very busy no one could help me at nars, but a beautiful lady named Sierra that works in the pat magrath section went out her way to help me which i thought was sweet! Every employee that i asked for help in Sephora ignored me and Sierra helped me and made sure i left with this shade that fits me so well!!! She even fleeked my face and helped me find a concealer!!! She was a really good help, but other than that the coverage is bomb and she applied it so well and concealed my under eyes. LOVE LOVE!! Go buy!! Ps. I’m hoping her name is Sierra because her necklace said it i didn’t even ask lol
This Sephora branch is HUGE! Great selection here, and a lot of great skin care products on the second floor. If its beauty-related and you want it, odds are you can find it here. Definitely a place you want to sign up for the rewards card - you will get a lot of fun, free samples and gifts, including a small free gift every year on your birthday. If you spend enough there to become a beauty insider, the bonus gifts get even better.
I felt so attacked in several people asked me if i needed help and i declined nicely. There was an associate who had a very nasty attitude and kept giving me a dirty look. And when i asked for associates help, they would just leave me there and go tend to someone else. Meanwhile i made a $100 dollar purchase. I’m just so upset tbh. Meanwhile this 9 AM IN THE MORNING it was barely so many advisers. But such lil help i don’t understand
I am a VIB rouge client, I went to this location because it is right by my place, to pick a shampoo sample, they made me wait 20 minutes which clearly wasnt necessary since the staff was scattered around chatting, and each time I asked for help they said that someone will come over in a minute. Then this lady Zulma finally came around, filled up samples while taking breaks to chat to this other staff member. Eventually, when she was done, she handed me a few samples and refused to give me a bag😂 Next time Ill just go to the one thats by my office.
The only reason Im giving a 4 star is because ONE of the workers there is like a perfume/ cologne connoisseur (no kidding) ! He really knows his job and hes very nice to customers and window shoppers etc as well unlike some of the young women working there like theyve been forced to.
Horrible customer service. Needed help with makeup forever so I asked the guy near by but instead he walkied someone else.. I waited 10min and no one showed up so I went all the way back to the cashier where I found that gentleman again just chatting with a Co worker and I asked for help again his Co worker, asian lady in the red/ black shirt decided to help me but huffed and puffed so I decided to just leave. Never returning to this location.
I came to this location almost a week and a half ago and all I have to say is that Delita is a savior. This location is not one of my favorites but, Delita was so incredibly sweet that I would go back just because she had no problem helping me out when I needed it. She is a sweetheart! I would state this as well on the sephora website but there isnt a place to do so.The five stars is definitely for her.
I was at this location earlier in the day looking for a foundation so I decided to ask for help and Dominick assisted me.He took time explaining/looking for the right foundation for me.He was so helpful and nice to me and other people around asking for help. Thank you for making me have a good experience shopping at Sephora.
I walked in 34th street mega store yesterday, had to buy things for my GF overseas, first woman was very nice and helpful. After I asked a second woman there if they carried Lab Series, she basically laughed in my face and told me to go to Target. I found it at Bloomingdales.
Im a regular cust... but there was a lady there in the fragrance dept ... that was nasty n rude.... apparently she is scared to communicate with people ... she is robotic and not helpful at all , whenever i go there i will always ask for Reggie .. coz he has Excellent Customer Service skills and he is very helpful and knows how to have customers keep going back there ... some of the staff their acts as if you re a beggar or you dont have money ... But im sorry to say this dont judge people .... Coz some of the up tyte staff dont know if its a millionaire .. or an undercovered celebrity walks in there and being treated that way its bad for the standard of this business... This Sephora I love ... But yesterday ( Sunday) was disgusting!!!!!!
I came here yesterday with my friend, Beth. This store is always super packed and not very organized. The wait time to get your makeup done even with an appointment is sometimes 45 minutes. The staff can be hit and miss. I usually tend to avoid this location if I can.
Its basically one-stop shopping. Youre not coming here to try products out and get expert advice, (thats what Macys and Bloomies are for), youre coming here, because you can run in and get a refill of your usual blush or foundation and get out in less than 15 minutes.
Worst customer service ever! I was never treated that badly in a store before.I asked three SA for help, all of them were quite nasty and told me they would be back in 5 minutes, not even looking at me and none of them came back even after I had been waiting for 10 minutes. That was the last time Ive been there.
Awful...... terrible service, the employees arent very helpful and most of them seem as though they dont even want to help you. The lines are awfully long, and idk how often the security guard that i seen is there but hes definitely guilty of racially profiling..... i dont like to be watched like a hawk, Im not interested in stealing..

2021-12-30Great selection of makeup and body care products for women. The staff is ok and the shop itself is big and easy to shop for your needs. My cousin wanted to buy a cream but could not find the specific product she bought before. The location of the shop is also pretty nice!

2022-01-27Good sized store with most products available. Theres currently a supply chain choke hold so they might not be getting deliveries, but many of their products were unavailable at the time I went (6pm on a Wednesday). Other than that, this store is very nice and the staff are incredibly helpful. Ive had many people help me foundation match or pick blush that matches my skin tone, etc.

2022-07-17We visited Sephora as my wife loves the store and this was our first store visit and the staff were unbelievably friendly. The hospitality and customer service was exceptional.Daisy, Lorraine and Patrick are true assets to Sephora and some of the friendliest staff I have met.@exploreWithKash

2022-02-10One of the best Sephora experiences I’ve had in a while. Its great when you are in a store that has SO many products there are people that can speak to the differences between them. Its the difference that makes a difference!

2022-05-02Most of the staff were off the charts helpful. It seems to be the best stocked Sephora in the area. Whatever you do dont drive there. There are no free parking spots! Tickets start at $115!

2022-07-21Poor experience today. I came on a Wednesday and despite it being more crowded then usual, it was disappointing to see short staffed store. There is plenty of cashiers but not enough sales reps to help on the floor, they actually pretended to be busy meanwhile they didnt stock anything and they avoided eye contact with me. You will definitely get attention for makeup station services but to get help finding classic brands like stila and la mer is hassle. I hate that brands aren’t alphabetical and the shelves are like mazes. It also bothers me that some boxes of products on display looked open and damaged. For a hot spot like this location they can be more organized and hire more people.
