SEPHORA in other cities:
The staff did not offer any help. While walking out the store after purchasing a concealer a staff member said I promise Im not following you. I was so confused by that comment, I didnt assume that at all nor is not the first comment to come to my mind. It made me feel uncomfortable.
I did a reservation for makeup services 2 weeks ago and I went to the store two days before my event to confirm my appointment Then a day before a woman called me to change my appointment because they booked someone else at the same time. So disrespectful and horrible customer service of Sephora at this location. Whats the purpose of making a reservation in advance if they wont respect appointments. Never coming back to Sephora.
Pretty good, staff was nice! I was able to sample perfumes but not take any samples as in the past due to covid. As with all sephora items there maybe a sale but more than likely not. If you are looking for a sale go to Macys 😉👍 Im a guys guy I dont care much about make up but if you are looking for that type of products they seem very nicely stocked. They werent so busy so if you want and like having all the attention in that store than that Sephora is the place for you. 😉👍
Store was neat, music wasnt too loud, and i found a variety of products for all of my beauty needs! I knocked a star off because I had to wait a long time to get matched in a particular foundation due to there not being many artists on the floor to help me. The lady who helped me was a doll and we chatted well after we settled on my closest color match in the foundation. Will definitely stop by to shop again but will probably shop early when its most likely not as busy!
Everyone was super friendly at this Sephora location! Celine or Selina (I cant remember!!) was the makeup artist that helped me and she was fantastic. Instead of just color matching me with the brand I was “comfortable” with, she went above and beyond and showed me 2 additional brands, articulately explained the differences to me (I know nothing about makeup), and then helped me make an informed decision about which one to purchase. This personal experience is the kind of stuff you can’t get from online shopping!I highly recommend this store but just note that, like any Manhattan store, it can get busy. It’s not like a mall in the suburbs where the employees walk up to you and ask you if you need anything. If you need help (like I ALWAYS do), just ask someone! They’ll connect you to the right person :)
Ive been to Sephora in different parts of the country and have always had a good experience. The staff at the Times Square store are horrible! I spent over an hour looking at different brands. I asked for help from three sales girls who were doing nothing, but they were not helpful at all. They were not interested in looking for what I wanted, nor were they willing to explain or help me compare with other brands. Worst customer service I have ever seen. I had just been to Bloomingdales in Soho this afternoon and the customer service was night and day. Wish I had just bought all my makeup there. I picked up all the makeup here on my own (looked through the drawers too - with sales girls watching me !!! ) and then decided not to buy ANYTHING because they did not deserve my business.I did notice int he reviews that this store has received very good ratings in the past (three-fours years back) but the recent ratings are terrible. Dont know what the issue is - change in management / employees ...
Good selection and layout. I was disappointed with the store associates. I went to the store to color match foundation/concealer. I fumbled around and NOT ONE associate offered to help despite there being plenty. Some were applying moisturizer and looking at themselves in the mirror while others were just laughing and chit chatting together. Having been in many Sephora locations, this is not the norm as usually many associates offer to help; its just disappointing that the time that I could really use help, no one could be bothered.
Usually have a good experience but went in today and there was NO one at the makeup counters to help with picking an eyebrow dip color and the colors I wanted were out of stock! Shouldnt they always be checking to make sure there is enough supply in store? I mean this is NYC and its a major location by all means. They didnt even have the correct sample to test out and no one to assist so I didnt want to open a product to sample it. One woman who couldnt leave the skin care section told me to go bring it to her for her to assist and I came back with the product and she had already left to help someone else which is fine but then she should have called another colleague to help me since I got there first. I went to the counter and the staff was very cold and not informative about the rewards program either. Something was off about this store - it felt deserted today. I ended up walking out with over a $100 worth of products but did not feel welcomed at all or assisted which is unfortunate.
Just visited this location for a foundation color match, and I was so glad to have Ana help me! She’s amazing! Provided great feedback on foundations I was thinking about. She was attentive, courteous, and just so welcoming and nice even though the store was so busy! Thanks Ana!
This was the first sephora Ive been too where someone didnt offer to help me. I couldnt find something I was looking for and it was slightly busy. They had a pretty nice range of products than I feel like most sephoras have. After finding something close to what I needed the line moved pretty fast and the sales associate gave me a couple samples.
I hate to complain, especially this Holiday season. I was treated horribly today by a representative named Tawny. She followed me around the store as an apparent racial profiler who inherently believed that I was going to steal something because I am black. She snapped at me to put products immediately into a basket she gave me and then circled me like a hawk so much so that I could not feel beautiful while testing products. I felt so harrassed that I handed the basket back to her as she continued to yell at me asking me for products she claimed that I had stolen. I walked to the bathroom and burst into tears passing a couple of security guards that were readily available to do their job. After a few tears, I finally mustered up the courage to defend myself and my identity as a minority woman and went back to ask her name to file a report. I had to demand it from her three times as her eyes scorned me like an evil sorceress overseeing a worthless dog.If I had stolen something wouldnt it have been necessary for me to actually leave the store to be considered a thief? Wouldnt the correct procedure be to contact the security officers of the mall rather than yelling at me crudely and embarrassing me because of her belief that I did not fit the demographic of her store. She obviously knew that I did not steal anything because when I walked back into the store she still had not, nor did she ever contact mall security. I feel so ashamed to be accosted in this way by someone who obviously feels that she is superior and can yell at me like a dog inside a store that should be a safe haven to encourage beauty of all women, not just those that look like her.
Best experience ever. First time going to Sephora for make up. Bernadette, the Nars representative is the best, she took care of me and my colleagues with such professionalism, patience and care. When I return, I will only see her. She knows her make up and skincare products. Ask for Bernadette if you want a wonderful, magical experience. She made sure not to cover my freckles, thank you!!
Every time I go into Sephora I am greeted with smiles and welcomes, one of the many reasons why I love to shop there. Every time I enter there is always someone available to help me. I am able to find what I need and want. I also like how the store is well set up, I can find everything in a blink of an eye. I recommend this cosmetic store, especially to those girls that love makeup.
I have been to so many sephora stores but I never came across this store like before. I had such a bad experience. I asked one lady for help but she turned out so rude and the way she was anwering me was like I am begging something. In between conversation she left without saying anything. She was such a unprofessional. They shouldnt have to hire such a ill manner staff. I wish i know her name so I can write down here. Columbus circle sephora service sucks.
Columbus Circle has the best customer service. Went in looking for good face coverage for Vitiligo, Mark worked w/me to find the right coverage, having a makeup artist work a few products until we found the right combination. So appreciated the time & effort! So happy with the results.
AMAZING ANA - this 5 stars goes directly to the lovely Ana.Ana was my assistant when I was visiting from London in October this year. Visiting Sephora has always been extremely overwhelming for me and I usually run in and run out again with one thing - usually not make up as I find it overwhelming! I have never known whether I was choosing the right foundation or make up for my skin- I just picked the cheapest one that looked about right (usually from a pharmacy!).Ana was absolutely INCREDIBLE and I walked out feeling like a million bucks. I am now a Sephora loyalist and rave about the products she recommended - I had a budget of $50 walking in there and spent over $400 - and I felt not once ounce of regret, it was all so worth it and she showed me the value through the experience.I attribute this entire sale to her - her knowledge, friendly nature and skills were absolutely fantastic. I have since shopped at Sephora in France as a result and asked people to purchase products from the states to send to me and recommended your Sephora lip stain to four people (all who have purchased since my recommendation!). This is definitely all thanks to Anas salesmanship and service!Ana was incredible - I was never into makeup before and now I absolutely love it and enjoy it a lot.Sorry for taking so long to write this review, Ana.From,Anna - London, UK.
The staff members looked at me like I was a criminal and didnt even give me not one ounce of help. Not even a Hello. Just because I look comfortable, doesnt mean that I dont have money to spend.I went to MAC next door and the customer service was superb!!! I will never touch a Sephora again. Smh.
The five stars go solely to BREA (hope I got her name right). She was incredibly gracious and helpful to me. All the other employees literally look right through you when you need assistance, and she was the only one who actually asked me what I needed, and took her time to help me find shades of foundation that matched me. Thank you BREA. The rest of you can go and pay for courtesy and customer service lessons.
This Sephora is hands down amazing in both content selection and service. They have nearly everything you can buy from Sephora. The service is also above and beyond phenomenal! They will give you a personalized experience and work hard to find you everything you need.
Ive been here several times, mostly because its down the street from my house; and sad to say I dont really care for this location. The staff is never around to help. Today I walked around the store for an hour with no help. Also, they dont keep their products stocked, theyre always running out of products. The only good thing about their location is the cashiers. The cashiers are always friendly, upbeat and nice.
Whenever I go shopping with a few female friends, they insist on making a trip to Sephora. I have to recommend this one specifically due to the elegant layout of the store, where you start of with a section of lipstick that merges into a section of nail polishes, where they can make a clear concious choice of what they want exactly. Sometimes I feel like an employee directing them to the different sections.
Disgusted horrible experience!!!!! Wish I could give this Sephora no stars. Never in my life have I ever felt so uncomfortable at a Sephora. I went in today to get a lovely lipgloss with a nice tint since I haven’t bought a lipgloss in forever obviously I grabbed a lot of disposable lip sticks to dip them into different lipglosses to see which one felt and looked the best so I went around I’m not a big make up guru so I wanted to try as much as possible I went back and forth and checked them out in the mirrors with the tables and seats where sometimes people get their make up done the whole time all the employees females and males all kept staring at me and following me and talking in their walkies about me if I would’ve never had my play card(rewards card) that needs to be used in store which expires soon I would’ve left right then and there I repeat if you’re looking to buy and try things out do not come to this Sephora you’ll be treated like a criminal for simply trying on the product
Ive never seen a Sephora store with such a large variety of products in the skincare section! (Im referring mostly to the Peter Thomas Roth and Caudalie sections that each take up an entire section of the wall!) The service there is also wonderful - when you can actually find someone to help you. I cant count the number of times Ive walked in and immediately looked for someone...only to wander around 10 mins before I found someone who was free. It feels like their skincare section is understaffed, and the waits have definitely taken away from my otherwise wonderful experiences there.
FREE Beauty Classes Review- I signed up for 2 Beauty classes at this store (Flawless foundation on 1/17/18 and Skincare solutions on 1/20/18) . i had the SA Sheniece twice & she is Amazing!! Im a beginner in anything make up & how to apply it, but Sheniece made it simple for me to understand and fun to learn!! She was all about helping, very knowledgeable about the products, skin care and skin types, and ensuring I left confident knowing what to do at home. Its an interactive and informative class they teach you what to do and you then learn how to apply it there with their help. She didnt push me to make any purchases, instead offered me samples to take home.I use everything drugstore brands but I was pleased and ended up purchasing Fenty foundation 370. Great class and instructor good for beginner, beginners (yes, I wrote it twice).who dont know how to do anything when it comes to makeup.
OMGosh!🤩😍🤩 No joke! Sephora @ Columbus circle is where its at ladies. Im the type of woman who likes to be treated good in exchange for my customer support no matter where I go. This location has the most helpful, friendly, amazing staff just waiting to make you look and feel amazing and that makes the sephora experience so much better!!! Huge location, smiling faces and elite expertise in all merchandise.... what more can a girl in a glam store ask for!?! Thank you ladies so much! You made my day.💖💖💖💖💖😁
This is the first stop whenever my friend and I go to this mall. She gets quick tips and samples on how to make herself look even better. Some days they even have parties with drinks and snacks.A very nice staff, large selection, one of the better Sephoras in the city.
I like this Sephora because I think a lot of people arent aware that its there or they just dont need Sephoras services. I can always find the products that I need in here, and I dont find the staff to be too overbearing, which can be an issue at some Sephora locations. Sometimes theyre out of tissues, which is annoying when testing products, but they seem to get more and more of my money every week!
My friend and I went amd asked for help, were told to wait and no one came to us after 30 minutes. We had to ask multiple times and still got no help. We ended up buying the foundation we wanted, a packaged foundation, she opened it at home and its completely used. Awful.
My dad went here when he was in NYC last month and and I wanted to let you know he thought you were helpful and also say thank you. he is a middle aged english man who is clueless about this makeup but said the girl who helped him was really lovely and swatched it for him and explained everything. he didnt get her name but said she was dark skinned (sorry to be reductive, that was all he gave me to go on)
Hora Hora its Sephora -and if you guys take my logo--I want payment!Next up, one of the best make up stores of this chain is here at Columbus Circle. Clean, tidy well kept and great smiles from the staff. Its a store of magical colors that transform you to beauty. I like the special events and free consultations for products. Here get free samples, just ask--they make them up in little bottles for home try outs.Like it, buy it and get points for the club. Tell them its your b-day and you get a free gift! ooh lala--all that under one roof.
Top Favorite SEPHORAS. Large, spacious, well lit, plenty of Beauty consultants throughout the store and at every beauty station for skincare, fragrances, beauty and checkout. If you can catch Vanessa who is usually at the entrance as a greeter definitely stop to ask her questions, do not pass go with her. I find her to be so on point with recommendations, great personality too.I shop at this location the most, 2nd location is 34th Street which has improved but doesnt compare to the Columbus circle location for a very pleasant shopping experience. I also noticed you get the best hands on help here. Most coveted newly launched products can be found here 1st.Go get you Glamour Glo on.
I like going to the Sephora at Columbus Circle. They have 3 separate nail stations for easy application of nail polish and numerous nail polishes to choose from. In addition, you can ask for a sample of your favorite product to try at home, which I thought was pretty neat!
Incredibly unhelpful staff... went in to purchase some kate Somerville products and glad I put them back as received no help and I knew what I wanted.... needed help finding a HUDA lip stick for my daughter and was told to just get it out of the drawer ... so much for customer service never again
The sephora at columbus circle is The Best Sephora in Manhattan...Hands down!!!!! The variery is Great and the service is outstanding, the staff is knowledgable and friendly. The go to person is Kenny Vargas a Fantastic make up artis and knowledgable guy of all Cosmetic brands and skincare,,,
We were at the end of the trip looking for a gift for my mother, Marcia who coordinates the session of perfumes gave us a great solution and suggested an option that was great, comes with gift for mother and sister for a great price. Not to mention the friendliness of the staff, I loved it! Congratulations Márcia for working with joy and cordiality!

2022-04-01Came to this location to pick up a lip liner. The tester was missing, so I asked an employee whether he could get a new one. He was like “yea” and started looking in the drawers… While he was doing that, another customer approached him and asked for a product. He literally got up, and walked away from me to help this other woman. Needless to say, I didn’t end up getting that tester.. I honestly don’t know what it was: maybe she looked more expensive than me? Either way, it’s just unacceptable to drop a customer for another. Goes to show: customer service does NOT come with the Sephora price tag. Disappointed!

2022-05-28While browsing, i couldn’t hold everything without dropping something so i put something in my pocket and this man came out of now where attacking me and treating me very rudely. when i had already explained myself he continued to belittle me and treat me like garbage. i left my items and walked out. it was embarrassing and unnecessary and i am disappointed because i used to love this sephora.

2022-02-18THE MOST AMAZING SEPHORA EXPERIENCE...EVER... I always feel shy to ask for samples or help at Sephoras. I always end up feeling pressured to buy products that I dont necessarily want. This was my first time at this location, and I was so impressed. Melissa was so kind, patient, and INFORMATIVE. She helped me pick through several foundations and primers. What was most impressive was her extensive knowledge on products. Never has anyone ever told me that before buying a primer/foundation confirm whether they will be compatible (ingredient list). This changed the game for me and the way my products lay/apply. Thank you Melissa!!! I will be coming back here.

2022-05-08“yeah not even 5 minutes”Not a busy sunday evening, i was the first one on the check out line and i was waiting my turn for about 10min. There were 3 staff dealing with one customer. So i waited and waited and finally approached a male staff and asked “can anyone helped me check out? I’ve been waiting for quite long time” and he got right back at me saying “yeah not even 5 minute!” I was so embarrassed and i asked “How do you know it’s not even 5min?” And he said “well probably not” … wow he ruined mu sunday evening..

2019-04-10I really hate to rate this glamour place that I love 2 stars but with the bad attitude of one person it affects the overall rating of this store. My expierence here was weird in dealing with a cashier when returning items I did not like. I actually felt sorry for this person who took me through the ringer just for a return. The woman she helped previously had just as many items as me to return but her experience with the cashier was smooth sailing and respectful and she was out fast but when the cashier got me she did not even greet me say next, or even say Hi how are you today. As she had said to the other women she helped previous to me. She asked for an explanation as to why I was returning the products she was loud, somewhat rude and condesceding and opened every single item then tried to short me on my refund by purposefully not scanning one item but I caught it. Honestly, her attitude was quite sad, even her co- workers looked at her as if asking what is the problem. So, sadly this woman Im sure has treated many people this way and should be fired. Other than that issue the overall store is just lovely. But, I have to add a basket was directly in the entrance that I almost tripped over when leaving the store.

2021-12-10Phenomenal customer service. I went there to pick out a new foundation and concealer and Amy made this process so seamless for me- from matching my foundation with several brands to suggesting different make-up tips! She was very knowledgeable on all things make-up + skin care. Overall- great location to shop at.

2019-08-16My friend and I got our faces and hair done at a pop up event. The workers in the Sephora at Columbus circle have no idea what they are talking about. Limited real knowledge of makeup other than knowing how to cake up their own faces. The worker I had helping me was very unprofessional cursing and swearing when she stopped things and oversharing her work gossip. She also had to redo my face 3 times because. She was clueless until I just did it myself. This isnt unique to this Sephora though, they tend to hire people with little knowledge about cosmetics actually catering to the customers needs.

2019-11-07I love this location because its often less crowded then locations that are on the street saying that this is in a plaza and tucked away a bit really helps. It also providesthe room to have employees give you a lot more attention and more likely for you to find someone for help. I went there for my birthday and got myself some new lipstick for the fall and picked up my birthday gift which is always a fun plus 👌
