Shake Shack in other cities:
LOVE! Shake shack has been my go-to burger place for so long and they never let you down. When I was recently craving their food again I checked out this location. It’s perfectly located in the Madison square park with plenty of place to sit down. When I went there today (super cold day) I was delighted to see that they have set up heated outdoor dining! Couldn’t be happier to enjoy my burger and fries there.Great job guys!
One of the best burger experiences you will have in New York.Shake Shack at the Madison Avenue location has all the comfort food you can ask for. They have burgers, fries and shakes. They also have hotdogs and new on their menu is the Chicken Sandwich. What you want to get is the shroom burger. Its a burger made with mushroom! If you want to top it, order the Shack Stack! Its a shroom burger with burger patty stacked together. When I am feeling down, this combo livens up my day.Come visit Shake Shack and you wont be disappointed.
Im a big burger fan, so it goes without saying that I love going to the Shake Shack! Not only are their burgers absolutely incredible, but I love the atmosphere of eating outdoors in Madison Square Park. Be sure to try the frozen custard before you leave. Different flavors are available on different days, but every one is a winner! The lines here can be quite long, but once you bite into that burger its so worth it!
This was our first visit. We were greeted with great upbeat energy from all the front counter employees. They were so helpful with our selections. Awesome staff!Once you have this burger you will chase it for the rest of your life. It’s just that good. The burger taste seasoned and juicy with fresh fresh toppings. The fries and shakes are the real deal. We savored every bite and sip.
This place is alright. I ordered a DELICIOUS plain Chicken Shack with shack sauce twice from here now - it was GOOD. Sometimes they are a little disorganized with their grill though. For example, I found a little tiny bit of chopped onions and lettuce in my most recent Chicken Shack. By the way, the Chicken Shack is $7.89 without tax and $8.59 with tax.
The OG. Its not the greatest setup by any means (finding a table is like finding treasure, and youll be harassed by the entire animal kingdom while seated), but if you love a good burger, this is a touristy must do. They also will usually have some special items here also.
Love the original NYC Shake Shack. Would have been 5 stars except the notification system for ordering didn’t work (so our food sat cold for 15 mins) and had an encounter with an overly aggressive New York Parks chair collector (who seemed to be picking on anyone around him doing something he deemed not right!)
Shake Shack is delicious, their wide menu variety is great and this location is great if you want to sit on the park and enjoy the views with nice weather. Its a very popular location so it might get very crowded and there will be a line. You might also have to wait for a table, but if you have time, do it.Also, besides the burgers and hot dogs, I would recommend the Concretes as dessert.
Nostalgia for the Shack in Madison Square Park. Pre-COVID, outdoor dining was rare in NYC, outdoor drinking even more so, and dining and drinking safely with small children nearly impossible. But in the aughts, when the Shack had just opened and the babies were still little, my wife and I were sometimes able to get them over to MSP, sit on the grass in one of the safe fenced in areas, with a Shackmeister and one of their then-innovative burgers, and chill while the girls played. Few moments were better. The burgers are less differentiated and quality highly variable, outdoor dining and drinking are now commonplace- and the kids are big- but we were just able to return to the MSP Shack with extended family on a Friday, and felt a little of that magic come back.
Its our first lunch in NYC! We had two chicken burgers, the meat inside tasted crunchy & juicy, a shake shack burger(single), and cheese & bacon fries, for that I am a cheese-addict, I tried a lot:)) It cost us $ 27.39 in total, located right at the Madison square park. Although it looked like you would queue in line for a while, it took less time than expectation to have your order & to get your meal.
The long shake shack line never fails but this was my first shake shack burger and overall it’s a pretty good burger. It’s cooked very well and presented accordingly, not the least bit sloppy. The fries are good as well especially when they are hot and crispy. Not this biggest burger person but it got the job done.
Shake Shack is an amazing burger place. It has many branches all over New York, but especially this one in Madison Park is at such a good location. A nice park where you can enjoy and relax.Shake Shack makes one of the best burgers I have to confess. Especially the cheese burger is one of my favourites and has an amazing special taste.Prices are good, not expensive at all, and service is quick and friendly.
A great location to hang around with friends. Unlike the other Shake Shack in the city, here there are a lot of tables so there is no need to wait for one. Even if you are not that into burger you should definitely try Shake Shack, it’s one of the city’s modern landmarks and this location is the original one. And the also have a great vegetarian burger, made out of mushrooms.
Who doesnt love a shack shack burger every now and then? The meat is so flavorful and fresh. And the namesake shakes - are rich and creamy. Or get a beer or wine in cool take home plastic stem less wine glasses. The only issue is the inadequate handling of logistics and ordering - its a mess. Long, inefficient lines and order pick up is literally chaos! They have expediters but they are too overwhelmed. The tables are dirty and trash cans are overflowing. This place good provide such a better experience with some care and management attention...3 stars is generous!
Love this place! Ive been going to Shake Shack for more than 10 years. I always order the Shack Stack because its the most delicious burger Ive ever had. Pair it with the bacon cheese fries and Im the happiest girl in the world! The outdoor seating is perfect for people-watching all year round. I come here to eat dinner with my partner and our dog. Check the live cam on their website to see how long the line is!
Nice outdoor seating at madison square parkhave heaters from above but still cold depending on outside temp.gives food in cardboard box, convenient and easy.got the mushroom burger for $8.37it was okay, i have tried this many times but i dont love it, great concept but it falls apart and doesnt taste too good, also is not filling. im writing this down to remind me not to order it again lolservice is nice, they give you buzzers for when your food is ready and they also call your name, i like the staff, they are friendly and warm and will answer any questions you have.from previous experience-the shakes were filling and deliciousthe fries are thick and good for dippingeveryone likes their burgersoverall good quality Fast food with deluxe prices. go for the experience and convenience factor but dont expect to be mindblown.
Great burgers and shake. But since the branches mushroomed all over Manhattan, it is much easier to get seats and the wait is much shorter due to it being outdoors. If you have a burger hankering in the winter, spring or on a cold day, come here for your burger craving.
This location doesnt get more iconic. The original shake shack. This spot sets the bar and standard for all locations. Great service and consistent in flavor. Plenty of seating around the park. Food comes out quickly and they have all the menu items. Love how its right in the park and how quickly we were served
As usual, best burgers ever. Perfectly cooked, fresh ingredients at the best price. The fries are awesome as well. They are fast. Also the shakes are great, the flavors. The number of options they have are just right. They also have hotdogs in case you don’t feel like eating the whole burguer. Well done shake shack!
This is it folks. The Shake Shack that started it all, right here in Madison Square Park. Get in line, order a burger and Brooklyn Brewerys custom-brewed Shackmeister beer, and then find a table to argue with your west coast friends about which is better: Shake Shack or In-n-Out (Shake Shack is). Aw man you brought your dog oh no now they wont serve you JUST KIDDING ITS A PARK AND SHAKE SHACK SERVES DOGS TOO. What a time to be alive.
A lot of customers, but yet I would still call it FAST food - the well oiled machine was pretty fast and I didn’t wait too long. Burger and Shake were good, just as expected. However: my Cheese Fries came rather soggy, like they had been sitting in the sauce for a while already. On the plus-side: perfect mask-discipline.
My first visit to NYC and I knew I had to visit this location after seeing it in one of my fave movies, Something Borrowed. I was not disappointed in the slightest. The service was over the top friendly and the delicious burgers are unbeatable. I’m here for a couple more days and I feel like I will be visiting this place again.
From the burgers, to the fries, to the milkshakes, every bite was better than the one before. Ive had a lot of burgers in my life, but my visit to Shake Shake Madison Square Park was definitely one of my most memorable burger experiences – so tasty I didnt even mind sitting outside in the cold! I love the cute outdoor seating area. The staff were super friendly and helpful too.
I didnt know you have to wait outside a full twenty minutes for one hamburger. Pretty outrageous ! And they didnt give me the receipt. When I complained the indifference unbelievable. Will probably call Shaeshack corporate office to make a formal complaint. When I asked as I ordered the how long it would take I was told 5 minutes!!
Shake Shack is a NY born and bred, fast food chain that specializes in fresh beef burgers and delicious milk shakes. The burger scene is competitive in NYC but given its natural limitations to compete with the heavyweight champs (JG Melon, PJ Clarke’s, etc.) this is the best fast food burger in the city. The beef is sourced locally from Pat LaFrieda meat purveyors which is the trademark of their tasty creations. The burgers are cooked medium and are dressed with lettuce, tomato and shack sauce. You’ll almost always find a 10-15 minute wait to place an order, regardless of which establishment you visit, which is a further testament to the pride that New Yorkers have to their fiercest competition to the GOAT, In-N-Out Burger (which is the KING of fast food burgers, by a long shot, in my humble opinion).
I love shake shack’s food. Have to get their classic smash burger with cheese fries. It never disappoints. This shake shack does get pretty busy, so you may want to order ahead. But you get to wait and dine in the park so I was in no rush. Would definitely eat here again.
Lovely location because it’s located right in Madison sq park! There are lots of tables and chairs where you can sit - but during peak hours, it may be hard to find an open table. Peak hours also mean longer wait time for food. When we went, however, the line wasn’t long at all so we were able to get our food pretty quickly! This is not my first time having a shake shack, but for those of you who are new, I would definitely recommend the shackburger (really tasty - the equivalent to LA’s in-n-out) and the milkshakes. Fries are good but not the best I’ve ever had...
Really poor experience with collection. Almost 20 mins to collect just a burger, no fries from this place. When I finally did get it, the order was wrong, so I had to go back up. The actual burger itself was nice, but nothing really that special, although the sauce is good
Addictive hamburguer! I didnt know it until my last time in New York. Great hamburger with lots of bacon, cheese and a specially soft and sweet bun (unforgettable!). Highlight to the special souce and small squares of pepper in the sandwich. The only downside is that apparently everyone in NYC thinks the same way I do: all restaurants we saw were crowded!
I was craving some burgers which is very rare for me because they’re not really my thing. But the only burgers I ever crave is shake shack!! Best burgers in the city. They are good quality and don’t make me feel gross after. The chicken sandwich was also bussin and I highly recommend if you are more into chicken than beef. Also I love the cheese fries and they’re a must with the burger. I got the lemonade mix with iced tea and it was alright. A bit sour for me. The beer was also okay and nothing special. One annoying part of getting the beer is that there is no lid so a fly flew into the beer and it was wasted.
Shake Shack is definitely an iconic NYC burger spot, especially this OG location in Madison Square Park. The lines can get VERY long during lunch time and in the spring/summer, but they now offer mobile ordering. There are plenty of Shake-Shack-green tables and chairs to eat at and you can eat under their rows of string lights (love how it looks at night!). If you cant find a seat, there are plenty of benches in the park too.My favorite thing to order here is actually their Chickn Shack sandwich which is crispy, seasoned chicken with lettuce, pickles and buttermilk herb mayo on a potato bun. And of course, their perfectly crisp crinkle fries.Shake Shack also does a lot great collaborations with local chefs as well as more well-known entertainment like Game of Thrones. Yesterday, they released their secret GOT menu items: Dracarys Burger and Dragonglass Shake (comes with GOT cup!).
Such cute shake shack place! It’s in the middle of the small park area, and outdoor tables and chairs! :D burgers are served super quick and 👍as usual. It’s an office area so lunch time it will be packed so be prepared for a bit of wait- but other than that, 👍 플랫아이론 바로 앞에 있어서 경치보며 먹기 좋아요!
The best fast food joint chain around I feel. Its quick and honest tasting. Just be quick when ordering and collect your order. Seating has great view in the day and nice Ambiance in the night.Theres a center Bush where you get small mammals running around (its nyc take a guess what they are) in the night which you or your company may not fancy, in the day there are squirrels Instead.Drink are refillable and the place always has a line but not along wait. Love the burgers, any beef burger with cheese bacon fries! Enjoy!
The Madison park location is horrible. I have never received a correct order here. Today there was no spicy shack sauce for the GoT burger, no shards on the shake, no cheese on my fries and my wife was given half a serving of fries. This is literally the worst shake shake.
Food was good but my partner found a hair in her food , was very busy and LOTS of people waiting so she just threw her burger out and I gave her mine rather than me bother the employees who were stressed trying to take care of the 20 plus people who were waiting on their orders and another 15 plus on line trying to order with ONE cashier . Fries and drinks were good.
Stick to the classics and order from “vanilla” Shake Shack menu before going with all new things they added to their menu. It’s getting warmer and it’s nice to seat near Shake Shack with a burger and a malt. ))) This is a Must-Visit place if you are in New York, the ones they have in JFK, Las Vegas, Moscow or any other location are just not that good in terms of atmosphere.
For me the best Burger in the world!I absolutely love Shake Shack! I tried it for the first time when I moved to New York City and for me their Burgers are the best in the world.I recommend a Shack Burger (Single) with cheese fries and a cup of Half/Half (Lemonade & Ice tea) or if you are into milkshakes try the peanut butter shake but make sure you chose the small one (they are so filling).
We wanted to check out the original location, as this used to be one of our favorite burger places. We ordered the smoke shack burger, the chickn shack, a hot dog, and the bacon cheese fries. It was all alright, but I always feel like I dont get the greatest value. The staff is nice though and the outdoor seating and setting with lights is a fantastic plus.
On par with In-n-out, which is saying a lot from a CA local who grew up on it. I went burger and fries and they were amazing. A ton of options on the menu and everyone in line had their thoughts on what I, as a first timer, should order. Fast service but told I was there on a quiet night.
CA resident here - so naturally I hear about how InNOut burger is overrated and Shake Shack on the east coast is the best. I had to know, and decided to get a chicken sandwich, crinkle fries, and a choc shake. Sorry CA, Shake Shack > InNOut - by a long shot. That chicken sandwich blew my mind - dont even get a burger, get the Chicken Shack. And please bring me one.
Ive always been a huge fan of shake shack. If youre not from the area or have never experienced shake shack, heres the quick rundown;- You WILL wait in line (especially at this location which is a total tourist trap) no matter what time of day you go. Since youll wait in line for a while, you will have plenty of time to figure out your order. Dont be that person who holds up the entire line when you get to the order window.- Its a bit pricey compared to most other places, but its worth it- Theyre know for their burgers and super creamy custard (think of a richer tasting ice cream)- As great as Shake Shack is, there are some things theyre not great at. Most of the time I get soggy fries or a charred to a crisp hot dog. Stick with the burgers.
A must stop for one of the best burgers, and of course shakes, in NYC. Bear in mind that the queue gets very long at meal times, so if youre a tourist Id recommend coming by avoiding those, unless you dont mind queueing in the park. Also of note, its outdoor seating only!
I have been a customer since the beginning. It’s become a family Thing. But do to recent lifestyle changes my husband and I are vegan now. I was so disappointed to find out that while you have a mushroom burger we don’t have the option of no cheese. I think that you guys are a beloved staple of NYC and now across the country having at least one Vegan option would not only be a viable investment and a nod to all of us customers who have long been coming but have new dietary requirements. Or to new ones wanting to join in on the experience.
Service was slow, food was cold and mice around the place ruin my appetite. Dont get me wrong, I love their food, but this location needs more personal and attention to detail. Ive been to other locations and they have more personnel, no to mention In-N-Out Burger in California small locations like this with five times more the quantity of clientele and you wont wait more than 20 minutes. Improve by follow example. Suggestions: 1) Increase Personnel on busy hours or post a Waiting Time sign. 2) A Must, they should improve the cleanliness of the premises. 3) Implement a small Restroom by the location.
The place overall was nice. The atmosphere 👌 fantastic. This review is just from todays visit which was also our first visit. We waited an hour for a burger, hotdog, fries and a shake. We watched customer after customer that came after us leave with similar orders. Maybe they just lost our order. I dont know. They made no effort to apologize or to assure us the food was being cooked. Except nearly half an hour in, a staff said, I didnt forget about you. For our last night in NYC visiting from Massachusetts, it was extremely disappointing. The food that we finally did get was also as disappointing as our one hour wait. We couldnt even finish the food. I hope to visit NYC again some day and will give this place another try. Will update review when we visit again. Thanks.
This shake shack in Madison Square Park is a great experience. The park is beautiful and it is the original Shake Shack location, so fans of the chain will enjoy this opportunity to experience the first one! The food isnt any better or worse than other shake shack locations, so it is overall pretty good!
PROS: This is the very first shake shack ever so it has its history. The staff is always very nice and they get the order right all the time. Condiments were provided outside the building so you can help yourself. They have a very large seating area and the pick up line and the order line were far from each other so they wouldnt interfere with each otherCONS: The place is outside making it inconvenient to eat on a bad weather day. They are also very slow at preparing your food. They also dont have enough tables to cater to the size crowd they normally getOVERALL: If you order from the app or if its not rush hour then come here, but if you plan on coming here at noon and stand in line, order your food, pick it up, eat at a table, and then go back to work then you have a long time waiting
Prepare to wait in line but the food is definitely worth the wait! It’s the original Shake Shack and the food is delicious, especially the burgers. I do think the milkshakes could be improved as they are not very thick but they still were delicious. The only reason it’s getting four stars is the line, which is not something they can really improve on without adding additional workers and square footage.I also really enjoyed the park and the people watching! There’s a dog park nearby!
My favorite burger place! The taste is just amazing the meat quality is top notch and you can tell that it’s been cooked to perfection. The French fries tastes great, chocolate shake complete the wholesome experience. It tends to get crowded in lunch hours and in the evening, the line can be extremely long but it’s definitely worth it.
I went to the Shake Shack establishment in New York. I ordered a hamburger and a chocolate shake. The food was very delicious and really with really fresh ingredients, speaking about the meat of the burger I would say that the cooking point was perfect and the combination of spices was good; the thing I liked the most was the innovative service, because at the time you make you’re order, they ask you’re name in order to call you later when you’re order is ready. These establishments have a really special concept, the concept of fast food and you can enjoy you’re meal and have a exiting experience. The bad thing of these establishment is the space of the place because is small and is the most popular place in the city so at the time I was there the place have a lot of clients. I really recommended these place to have a great time in family.
Five stars!!! The other day I left my favorite coat on the chair next to me. Wrote it off as a loss. Yesterday I received a lovely call from Shake Shack Madison Square Park. The found my coat and saved it for me! Tried to tip $20. Nice worker would not accept it. He said, “Just give us a good review.”
Crazy busy here! We came around lunch time and there was plenty of seating which was nice.I got a hot dog (which was our best of the trip, by far) and we got fries and custard. It was all delightful. The Hot dog was grilled and had an incredible flavor. The fries were crispy and very flavorful and the custard was truly some of the best i have ever had. It really seems as though they do not cut corners here at all, because everything we had exceeded our expectations.
Friendly staff, burgers are actually really good with alot of taste lovely cheese and a overall great bite. we could pick up our order within 5 minutes even though it was quiet busy. and lets not forget the beautiful setting of this particular restaurant. 5/5 it has everything i expect from a good burger place!
Best milkshake I have ever hadThis place is really good. The wait was a bit long, but it was worth it.Positives• Clean• Nice staff• Wide choice• Fresh food• Most amazing shakes• Good chicken burger• Nice friesNegatives• Don’t go here for healthy food. The shake was over 600 calories.
Venue (5/5): Lots of outdoor seating space. The only disadvantage is that there are a lot of people and you could wait a little while.Food (5/5): Good quality. One of the better Shake Shacks.Service (5/5): Nice people. We needed more water and the server helped us patiently by flagging people in the busy kitchen to get us water.
Taking forever just for 1 cheese 🧀 burger. While others are placing big orders receiving there food fast. Then the lady yelling out names cant here her well. Why didnt it occur to this Establishment to just use a microphone for names so people can hear better as well...
I always saw a crazy line during lunch time when I used to when across the street. So I would usually go before lunch rush or on those rainy days when theres not much of a crowd. You dont want to be caught in the line so go before lunch. I had to wait with my friend visiting from out-of-town for 1.5 hours. I would not wait that long for this burger but she wouldnt budge.Overall they have solid burgers. You can taste the grill flavor and they are nicely seasoned. Be sure to try the shakes and the custards which change daily. They now have a new burger: the Chickn Shake! It is a must try. The chicken is battered and fried perfectly golden and crispy. The chicken was so tender and still so hot and crispy. The batter is not too thick which is a big plus and it has great flavor. The only thing I dont like are the pickles but thats a personal preference. I think the chicken burger can give the beef burger a run of its money!

2021-08-11This shake shack is very unique! I love the service here. The food is also great, you can spend quite a bit but honestly it’s worth it. The food is delicious and I’ve never tasted such burger. Not only is the food amazing but so is the place. It’s in madison square park so you bet it’s beautiful. The view is aesthetically pleasing as you gobble down those fries. Definitely recommend, such a nice place to bring friends for brunch.

2021-09-09Few things are more iconic, touristy, and “basic” (in a good way) as eating a single Shack Burger in Madison Square Park. Shake Shake in the park is a must for tourists—and a must for locals at least once. anything less than enjoying a full burger at the original location is grounds for being booted from NYC! lollet me tell you…the cheeseburger is deliciously consistent at the OG location—despite the droves of tourists and the never-ending lines. Shake Shack serves up a consistently tasty cheeseburger. The burger is tasty and cooked well—possessing layers of flavor from the cheese, the single patty, the lettuce & tomatoes, and the bun. it is satisfying and totally worth having at least once. honestyly there is nothing like enjoying a burger on a sunny day in the park. waiting on line for it is part of the experience, drives the hunger, and amplifies the deliciousness of that first burger bite. the cheeseburger is about $6-$7 with tax. and there is a variety of savory eats and sweet treats on menu beyond burgers.if you want to cut down your wait time, you can always order your food via the app and cut the lines. technology is your friend.the staff is friendly and fast. they do their best to keep the lines and food moving.

2021-10-22Amazing place to spend the afternoon at the park, just as long as you dont mind soggy burgers and undercooked fries. I cant believe Im saying this about a shake shack but please enjoy it anywhere else but this location

2021-07-26Great burger could use a little more lettuce. Bacon cheese fries are great. Shakes are good. We ordered plain cheeseburgers for kids they were good, a bit crispy on edges.

2022-06-05NY tour is not complete without a visit to the Madison park and the open air dinner at Shak Shack.Variety of burgers, fries and milk shake. One can visit without much pre-plan.

2021-07-21This Shake Shack has an amazing location in the middle of the park. A high traffic area where you know its going to be crowded. Service is good and they do their best, there is minimal wait considering the amount of peiple there, so I feel its fast for what it is.The fries and shake were good, nothing special and I didnt get anything else. Its a nice place to get quick eat and chat with your friends sitting in the park, I feel thats a much better reason to eat at this location.

2021-08-03Awesome place if you want to eat a good meal without spending a lot of money. The food is really good, the burger is a little small but If you order fries and shake it’s not really important. I’ll especially recommend the cheese fries, it is absolutely great.

2022-06-15The original and best!Shake Shack is one of the finest dining locations in NYC. Great food, freshly prepared and cooked for you by friendly and cheerful people. Then, you collect your food and eat in beautiful surroundings.Needless to say, the food was delicious and cooked to perfection.Eating a burger and fries in a beautiful park in the shadow of one of the most beautiful buildings in the world? An experience like no other. It is a New York City Experience that you need to do at least once.

2022-04-09Coming here is definitely one of my favorite Shake Shack experiences. Nothing really compares to grabbing a burger and some cheese fries on a summer day and sitting in the park to eat. It can be a bit pricey, but I think the food is worth it. Definitely worth coming to this one if youre in NYC. The line can definitely get pretty long during peak hours though!
