Went with my 1 year old daughter for her first haircut.Awful. Hair dresser didnt follow instructions. For a kid friendly place, Im surprised the hair dresser didnt take time to gain my childs trust or interact with my child at all. Your kid will get a free toy and a photo taken. Photo was blurry and some of the toys didnt seem safe for small children.Waste of money, they promise much more than they deliver.This place might be better for older children, but not for small ones.
I took my little one here for his first haircut. I was nervous he would cry and make it difficult for them but they are professional and prepared! Ill definitely be coming back. It makes me happy that he had a good time. They give you a certificate with a picture and a baggy of some of his hair.
My son didnt even cry getting his haircut. He was too distracted by the car barber chair he was sitting in and the flat screen playing paw patrol above. Great atmosphere.
Expensive and the hair cuts are a bit rough. For the price, i expect the best hair cut my childs ever had and its usualy not the case. But there friendly and the place is lovely
Micaela was great! My baby boy got scared and cried and she was awesome in taking care of him and trying to leave the best experience possible! We will definitely come back! :)
Friendly, fun, patient. Lots of games, toys, and tvs to entertain the kids. My son had a great 1st haircut!
Lollipop, picked out a movie and sat in a jeep for very momentous first haircut. We also walked in without an appointment, this place is super cool. Stylist was quite nice and understanding.
Took my son.. and didnt mind the hairstylist cutting his hair... because he was on a car and watching his cartoon :-). Even if I was very nervous. And it was very quick LOVE IT
The front deck Genna or Jenny was extremely rude and nasty. She intentionally letting two people cutting in line and asked for payment and tips before the haircut was half done. Pathetic. What a shame for this kind of business to exist.
The custmor service was terrible because the guy at the front desk didnt let us get a haircut and was quite rude about it. I saw the haircuts and they looked fine and all the people who did the haircuts were very nice and did a great job, but just the guy at the desk was so rude and did not even let us get a haircut.
The hair dresser was so awesome and patient with my crying terrible two. It was struggling but she cut it quickly, precisely and stylishly!
They had the coolest feathers. My 8 year old got a short Bob and my oldest got a feather. Thanks Sharkeys!

2022-03-28We came as a walk-in and the staff was very accommodating. Our sons hair cut was spot on. Pricey but what isn’t these days on the UES. We will definitely come back.

2021-11-24Very disappointed!! Took my son here for the experience ,since they have the little cars to sit on while they get a hair cut , they give a ballon and lollipops and a little surprise for them . But the lady who cut his hair didn’t even turn the tv on she told him about a little surprise but didn’t give it to him he had to ask for it . Every kid that walks through the door should receive the same experience each and every time … that’s the point of taking them to Sharkeys .

2021-09-10The kids hair cuts were great. But absolutely no one (except the stylists that worked on my kids) were wearing masks. Everyone had masks on their chins. It also got very crowded so they are not doing appropriate spacing of clients. They didnt wipe down the cars between children. That should be done even before covid because -- kids. It felt uncomfortable and I dont think well be coming back.

2021-11-13Disappointing both times. Unprofessional. I’m not a hairdresser but I can do a better job cutting kids hair. We tried this place twice and both times (2 different hairdressers) didn’t wet child’s full set of hair, and the haircut was uneven with what looked like holes. Stay away

2021-09-18I don’t even know where to start with this review. On Sunday September 12th I went here to get my sons hair cut before school started. I made an appointment for 2pm got there at 2 for them to tell me they were 20 mins behind schedule ok fine i waited outside because it was so crowded inside. I came back in 20 mins later for them to say they still were not ready. I scheduled a cut, wash and style. They sat my son right after someone else they did not clean or wash down the car that my son sat in. When he got up he was COVERED in hair that wasn’t his ! GROSS 🤮! He got his hair washed and after I had to blow dry his him because nobody did it and I didn’t want him to go outside with wet hair. After blow drying it I seen my sons hair cut was all messed up I was so annoyed already with everything else I went home and fixed it myself. Nobody took Covid precautions nobody was wearing a mask fast forward to September 15th, my family and I are positive for Covid we have gone nowhere else beside this place.

2020-01-12Accommodated a walk-in at 11:30 on a Sunday for our 2 year old daughters first haircut. Our stylist, Gina, was kind and patient and gave us good advice about our daughters hair, in addition to giving her a pretty adorable cut. She also got a quick, free manicure and to choose a very small toy. And Sharkeys saved a lock of hair and gave us a first haircut certificate. Total experience was quick (20m or so), fun and trauma-free.

2019-11-09We’ve been to Sharkey’s three times now and will not be going back. My daughter told me today that the woman cutting her hair made her feel uncomfortable because she rushed so much and hurt her head. She’s had her one other time but only today told me she wished she wouldn’t cut her hair. We are always rushed in and out and most annoyingly, we are charged the full amount for a girls haircut even though they didn’t wash her hair or fix it. To top it off, her latest haircut was a bad haircut and I may have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. I would recommend trying somewhere else for a girls haircut...money is not well spent here.

2017-12-22Elsa,Rene and Jen were amazing and so patient with my 2 year old daughter! Elsa styled her hair to perfection. Jen washed her hair and had great manner. Rene was super friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend! My daughter did not want to leave this fun atmosphere!

2020-06-23I have Never experienced what I have today . My son who will be turning 7 next Tuesday / I went into the city just so my son can finally get a hair cut at Sharkeys . Instead when my son saw the sign @72 Street he felt disappointed , so we took a walk over to the supposed to be new location and we saw that it is under construction . I have sent out a message / absolutely no one has taken the time to answer. I wont be made a fool of once again Sharkeys . The receptionist there gladly asked for my Email but not even taken the time to send me the invite or new location address .I was really relying on Sharkeys and continuing with my sons stylist . Thank you Sharkeys .
