5 star reviews have to be from family and friends... Food is mediocre at best. Prices are on part with Nice sit down Uzbeki restaurants and cafes. Service was something else ( not in a good way...) It was like a sauna in there. A 5 gal bucket catching water from 1 AC( in the middle of the restaurant) I had to ask for everything and wait, like a spoon for our soups..., onion for my shashliks, and when I asked for ketchup I got a liquid like tomatoes sauce. To top it all of my wife finds a hair in the lagman soup. The waiter swears it was something from A shirt. Nothing was done about it. At the end of this circus show my bill came to $160.00 for my wife and I and 2 little boys. Definitely wont be coming back. I feel like I got robbed lol. Do urself a favor and avoid this circus and go somewhere else. Youre welcome.
Shashlik House is a religious experience. Started by a scrappy, motivated young man who worked his way up from server at another Uzbeki joint to the owner of his own, this gentleman’s skill is unmatched. Every meat is perfectly marinaded, and expertly grilled over quality wood charcoal. Get the lyulya kebab, the beef roll, and the chicken shashlik. Grilled tomatoes and mushrooms are a joy too! Sure, it’s under the F train, but the food is so good you won’t even notice the train whizzing by.
The food was pretty good but the experience was strange a bit. It was a lot of mistake and miscommunications. Two kids took our orders which one of them kept making mistakes. They brought us wrong food and not in order we asked and at the end we ordered tea that was served with salt instead of sugar! So, I dont know, the food was probably 5 stars or at least 4 but the service, Nope!
This a place to enjoy! The young guys who run it are clever enough to leave aside Plov, that is classic Central Asian course, to FOCUS IN SHASLIK and everything else authentically Uzbek, like their delicious and envigorating Shurpó. I promise to myself to spread the word and recomend to everybody “Shaslik House”
Dont believe the hype and reviews. Unbelievably bad quality food, its embarrassing to associate this place with Uzbek cuisine, not even slightly close. I regret spending time and money at this place. The kebabs( shashlik), RAW, unchewable, dont even taste or smell like Uzbek kebab(shashlik). Salads meh 👎 Quality and Service 👎
We ordered assorted kebabs. Was delicious. Everything was fresh. They have more than 20 Different kinds of kebabs and 3-4 kinds of steaksToday I came to Shashlik House to eat some fresh lamb shish kebabs. It was very juicy and affordable. The owner was very kind to explain all varieties of kebabs they make (lamb, beef rolls, lamb ribs, lamb chops, steaks, kebab from liver) i will definitely come back.
Kebabs here really very delicious, soft and juicy. I’m very proud that the Chief and owner of the restaurant representing Tajik food culture in the USA in good manner. Kebab historically Tajik-Persian food, and Suhrob preparing the best more then 20 type of kebabs. The most interesting part, he created 2 kind of kebabs, which are delicious too. Did you tried Leon Lamb 🐑? So you should visit Shashlik House.
The Shashlik House is great place with beautiful invirement. Very tasty and delicious shashliks with the awesome stuff. Salads are fresh and best Pilav and soups too. Suhrob is outstanding and professional cook. Eventing well organized and clean and fresh. Every food made from scratch and with great cooks. So far the best the best #1 central Asian restaurant in NYC area. Highly recommend to visit and try all foods .
The new Shashlik house restaurant in Brooklyn is wonderful place with various different types of choice. The taste of shashlik and foods and salads outstanding and very delicious. I cant wait to visit Shashlik house every time. Suhrob is a great cook and neat guy. I highly recommend every New Yorker to visit this great restaurant and try all foods and shahsliks you will enjoy and satisfy what you eat there.#Shashlik House, #Brooklyn, #NYC,#Master Suhrob
Worst experience ever in New York City ..We order food and waited 45 minutes for the food .We asked the waiter to recommend us .He said Lamb chop and chicken bone ..Then he said they don’t have chicken bone so gave us something else ..The restaurant so dirty and filthy ..I won’t never go there again ..

2022-06-20The food was great when they actually gave us anything. We brought my dad here for fathers Day and although the meat counter was filled with the things we tried to order and often saw people around us receiving the food we attempted to order, the waiter..actually both people bringing food to the tables, completely ignored our requests and told us everything we wanted was unavailable. For example the lamb chops we ordered typically with 4 per shashlik (skewer) but they only gave us 3.The tables around us did not get bussed at all and were completely covered with other peoples leftovers.Maybe Sunday night is not the right night to go. Maybe they didnt like the looks of us.Whatever it may be...This place can be a real miss. A very big, no-noGo instead to Tandir restaurant also in Brooklyn.TL;DRGo to Tandir, this place can be very bad. They skimped on food sometimes.

2022-04-29This cost $28 (see photo). There was also a piece of bread (unpictured). That is way too much. They added the salad and bread to my online order and a $5 charge with a line that said custom order. Me: What is this $5 custom order charge? Them: Salad. Me: I didnt order salad. Them: It comes as a special, its good. Me: You cant add a salad that I didnt order and charge me for it. They returned $5 to me. They printed me another receipt without the $5 charge. Maybe was some misunderstanding? They seem like nice guys. But jumbo lamb chops didnt seem jumbo (see my photo) and the grilled mushrooms seemed... sad. They appeared dry, and were unseasoned. A disappointing first visit. I will try them again. I hope they improve.

2021-11-13We found this place after visiting Tandir kebab a few months back, which is around the corner. The bbq is on another level. The meat is incredibly fresh and flavorful, but not super greasy either. They have a massive coal grill that has many skewers cooking at once, so you are treated with a heavenly aroma while youre parking. We chose many menu items and literally everything was 10/10. Samsa, beef skirt, lula, lamb chops, even the bread... All amazing coal flavor and juicy! Very friendly young guys running the place and lots of families also dining.

2022-07-02If you’re craving shashlik come here!! If you’ve never had shashlik come here!! Dont expect anything fancy, just straight up good meat and tea. I didn’t even get a chance to take a photo of the lamb shashlik bc I ate them so fast. Chicken shashlik insanely soft and delicious. Manti (dumplings filled w meat) were so juicy and flavorful. Will be back.

2022-06-18Despite that English is not really their strong suite, the kebabs are super tasty.Strongly suggests their Lula kebab and the shashlik.

2021-07-21One of the best kebabs in New York City. Not just among Uzbek kebabs, but in the whole category of kebabs including Turkish, Persian, etc. Im specifically a fan of their lulya kebab which is also a great deal at $5 per serving!

2022-08-17Delivery guy touching cooked food guess wanted a snack but never ate it, 1 cook eating small portions with hands then back to cooking without washing up, another person grilling bit sloppy cause fell off skewer then using bare hands to pick up after he literally shook someone hand for takeout, bad enough no gloves or washed either and while standing there never took my order but from what I saw maybe for the best. Videos on IG and pics look great, smelled nice but no way eating if people not going to be hygienic. Cant give 0 stars.
