This place is an old-fashioned material scrap yard with some very old pieces of unique construction materials from old places that were deconstructed. It is quite of a maze to get around the place, but those that I enjoy searching for that special part they need for a restoration project may enjoy the time here looking around. The yard is somewhat organized by types of the materials. For example, the doors are mostly in the same place, along with most of the double hung windows. The clawfoot tubs are out back along with the decorative steam radiators. There is lots of boards and trim, but one of the issues is that they seldom have a significant amount of trim that would allow you to the take on a project of even a single room. Theres also lots of window hardware and door hardware pack away in file cabinet drawers. Some of the stuff is quite antique but not really cleaned up. You might get yourself a good deal depending on the mood of which Shaver Brother is manning the store or how they size you up for what they think you can pay. Or perhaps the price is based on what they need to make that day.Nevertheless, Ive always enjoy myself since Im such a scavenger myself and I just love exploring all the stuff they have. I actually have managed to match up some of the stuff that I need for the historic restoration I do back in Syracuse, NY. I sometimes stop by if Im in the area just to take some pictures, like I did below, of things I think I could use in restoration projects.I would like to think that the place could be more organized and that the brothers would be more familiar with their inventory, but thats never going to happen and I will never expect it to be anyway than what it is. So, if you enjoy a good rummage and your a fan of old parts to put into your restoration projects, this place would is worth the stop, but be prepared to spend a good part of a day looking around.

Great place to find items for your older home. I have a 180 year old house, and they had all kinds of things for all your remodeling projects. The prices are extremely reasonable as well. Highly recommended!!!
