The hotel is very convenient to the Syracuse campus which made the choice of hotel very convenient. However, I certainly would book elsewhere the next time. The rooms are inviting but, the bedding leaves a lot to be desired. The pillows are just fluff with little to no support for your neck, the duvet feels like a very, very heavy blanket and the mattress is soft and provides no support for your back. Some people might like this however, I do not. Parking is available but, it will cost you $16.00 per day. It is not included in the cost of the room. There is an on site restaurant however, expect to pay at least $60.00 for 4 people for breakfast. Our two children each had a Belgian waffle with syrup for breakfast. The adults each had 2 eggs over easy garnished with potatoes, which we did not eat, and toast. We ordered no juices but we had 3 cups of coffee. A hefty price for breakfast for sure! The hotel is clean, employees were friendly however, we were not able to get 2 connecting rooms with 2 Double or Queen sized beds in each room even though, when booking, that was a choice that we requested. The rooms we were given were supposed to be across the hall from each other but, they were not. All in all, we will not return since there are other options for an overnight stay.
Stayed here while a family member was hospitalized nearby. They were kind enough to get me into my room a bit early in the morning, since I was already in the area waiting on the surgical status of my family member. Room was very comfy, well appointed, and clean. Heat worked very well, and was adjustable for my room. Beds were soft and comfy. Quiet room, with no noise from the hallway or other rooms. Ice machine in the hallway near the elevators. Restaurant and separate bar downstairs for your convenience. Microwave downstairs. Small convenience store/area downstairs with sodas, chips, etc. Well located near many restaurants and bars in the hospital area. Easy walking distance to Varsity Pizza, and other eateries. And of course, easy walking distance to all of the hospitals for visiting patients there. Free parking was offered by Sheraton, but I was parked in the Crouse hospital parking for free (ask for a slip/card that validates your parking there in the hospital lots). Pleasant, comfortable stay.
Thank you to all the staff during the our stay during the ACC field hockey tournament last week. It was great to see the concierge lounge open, and it made working and living at the hotel a pleasure to stay at the hotel. Location on university grounds is better than staying downtown, and the staff was very helpful during our stay. Glad to see that things are returning to normal.
Assistant GM Jason was outstanding with his customer service! We had an issue where our cards were pinged twice and he helped us resolve this problem immediately and gave us a discounted rate for our stay. This helped us return back home on time as well has have enough funds to travel back. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and the hotel was cozy.
An A+ Dome Away from DomeI absolutely loved my stay at the Sheraton @ Syracuse University! I was spoiled with a room on the 8th floor with an incredible view of campus and some pretty awesome Syracuse sunsets. (Pro tip: odd-numbered rooms are campus-facing, and always ask for a high floor)Housekeeping hooked me up with some amenities I requested from the available offerings, making my stay more comfortable. Dont sleep on the robe and slippers!I was in town for a weekend-long program Immersion held in conjunction with the graduate program in which I am enrolled at Syracuse University, so while it was not the undergrad experience of dorm rooms, it was a real treat to have a room at the Sheraton.Parking could not have been easier, and it was awesome to just park my car in the garage when I checked-in and forget about it for the weekend. The hotel is *incredibly* close to campus and the treats of Marshall Street, so it was an absolutely perfect spot to spend a weekend on campus and doing some exploring in our free time.Whatever you do, grab a pita from the Pita Pit for a quick lunch or snack; Marshall Street is a treasure trove of campus classics, and dont miss Mannys for wall-to-wall Syracuse Swag.I will be back in April for another Immersion and I will absolutely be requesting my room again (823) or one closeby!Thank you for a beautiful and easy stay.
The location of the hotel is great. The hotel claims its smoke free facility but the rooms REEKED of cigarette smoke We tried to air it out but you can still smell it. The carpets need to be washed. So muggy and old stale smell. bathroom was good but the pressure of the water was low.
Great location, friendly front desk staff, and surprisingly good in-house restaurant! My only complaint is that my feather allergy was not taken seriously enough and resulted in a rough first night. Switched out my pillow and the second was much better. Love the check out at noon - Im pretty sure Ive had to pay extra for it in the past, so this was a nice perk. Will be staying here again next month.
Our room ended up on unoccupied list so second night of our stay someone on staff was able to enter the room with a key card, not pleasant at 1am. When asked next day what happened no manager would be in until 12pm, my Dad was in comfort care at VA hospital so we didnt stay additional nights. He passed that day. I couldnt care less to return.
The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to accommodate my families needs. Paulina at the front desk was awesome. The room service staff was amazing as well. Every staff member we encountered treated us like a valued guest. It was a great experience. The beds are super comfy. And the place was very clean. Only complaint would be to have a fridge and microwave in the room. Otherwise it was a breathe of fresh air to stay somewhere that the staff was so friendly and attentive to your needs. Our daughter is in a wheelchair and they did everything they could to help us out. I’d definitely choose this hotel over a newer one anyway just because of the beds C amd the service quality. A++++ Thank you to everyone we appreciate your hospitality. We travel often and it’s not too often you encounter a staff like the one at this Sheraton.
Its a nice enough hotel but the fact that they charge $16 per day for parking is weird. Not great for the price, or star level, but the place is still reasonably good. Pillows and sheets look and feel like they need replacing. The pool area closes kind of early and looks like its in need of a deep clean. Too many little kids in the pool area (not the hotels fault). Over all its just Okay, not wowd.
Clean but the place is super out dated and worn out doesn’t look anything like the photos completely let down when I’m told it was a 4 star place but it’s a 2.5 I would have stayed at the hotel Syracuse for 30 dollars more complete let down and I’m a Marriott titanium elite member after living in one year for work in Albany ny but a yeah completely let down by Marriott brand here skip this place and spend the xtra couple bucks and stay at a real 4 star at hotel Syracuse by Marriott
I was very disappointed when I arrived to the hotel and saw our room. Those picture are embellished. The room I received looked NOTHING like those photos. I complained to management and they gave me one night half off, and a little $22 adjustment to go with that. Oh, I also received the medical rate which still was not enough. The furniture was beat up and old. The hallway looked like they were still painting and the signs with the room numbers were laid on the ground instead of attached to the wall. The bathroom had hair in it. There was hair on the walls. The back of the toilet had mold and rust. Our sheets were not changed after the manager, Jason, claimed they would make the room amazing for us. I had to be my own bellhop. I was not happy and I would never stay here again. I did enjoy the hostess Shelley (She was the sweetest) at their hotel restaurant and the food was great, but that was it.
It was an ok place to sleep. We needed a hotel for one night in the middle of a road trip. The bed was comfortable and the shower had very hot water which is great. But the furniture was very beat up with scrapes. The wood door to the cabinet holding the mini fridge was completely smashed and had a hinge broken off. There was some black gunk on the tile around the handrail in the shower. And worst of all the air conditioner was very loud and made a clunking sound and you cant adjust the thermostat yourself without calling the front desk so we couldnt stop it from coming on. In the end it was a bed to sleep in and was ok for the one night. I would have been disappointed if I had stayed longer at the price charged.
If youre visiting the University, the location couldnt be better as the hotel is literally on the campus. More importantly, the staff could not have been any nicer - from front desk to housekeeping, to restaurant staff. They were al great, which was comforting as this was our 1st hotel stay since the pandemic. The hotel itself is very nice, well decorated, and very clean. Only slight issue is that the air conditioner in the room was pretty loud when on. Minor issue though. Great place!
Our room was not cleaned. Dried soda on the night stands, phone & remote were sticky & covered is dirt, doors knobs had crusty dirt and were sticky, tv & tv counter had random dirt. There was a stool/bench that looked/smelled like it has been urinated on as well. The room in general was out dated and needed to be cleaned correctly. We selected this hotel because Sheratons are normally very clean and well maintained, this one was not. The staff was understanding but it was very disappointing stay. I would not stay again.
I was delayed and sent a message via the app requesting g for my reservation not to be cancelled. When I arrived at the hotel early the next morning, the manager on site greeted me and explained that he had in fact gotten my message and had not only held my reservation but would not charge me for the previous night. I was incredibly grateful as my flight had been diverted to Newark and I had stayed in a lower tier hotel with an extremely early flight to get to Syracuse. I was prepared to haggle w/hotel management over my reservation but was incredibly relieved at the accommodating response of the manager. My room was ready and clean. I had one of the best nights sleep in a while. Thank you to the staff for making my stay in Syracuse so comfortable.
My son and I stayed here while we were exploring SU as his potential school. The hotel is right on campus and could not have been more convenient. I always think the Marriott brand does a fantastic job of being consistent across their hotels and this was no exception. It was clean, stylish and had the thoughtful amenities you would expect. There was a coffee maker and complimentary bottles of water in the room. The room was a good size and the beds were super comfy. I hear it books up like crazy during the normal school year. so if he chooses SU, Ill book this hotel as fast as I can. Last note, I had worried that the hotel would be totally bare bones for Covid measures but it was fine. We were there in late April 2021 and I didnt really notice anything that was less available than it would have been during normal times.
This hotel is the best location for visiting Syracuse. Excellent. The staff is wonderful. However upon checking in to our room our bathroom had actually been used by someone and it had an awful smell. This really is unacceptable. And parents weekend was 5x the normal cost. Which was disheartening
Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, nice selection for breakfast that they bring to your door at preferred time. It’s conveniently located making it easy to get around by walking or via car/Uber. Staff and house keepers service is immaculate. 24 hour gym. It’s a must stay, I certainly will be back.
I stayed here twice in August and both stays were great. Staff, including Kim, Michael and Nick at the front desk, is amazingly helpful. On-campus location is perfect and you don’t have to worry about finding parking. Club lounge was open and well stocked and staffed.
We were there to walk around the SU campus. The hotel was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable and everybody was following COVID protocols. I particularly liked that we could open the window. We got dinner from the bar that we took to our room. Not many restaurants that we wanted to get take out from were open but we were pleased with our meals. We had our 8 month old lab puppy with us and he was welcomed with no issues. If one of my kids decides to go to SU, Ill definitely be back!
This is my preferred hotel, as it’s on campus and convenient to everything around. Recommend they enforce masks and change their in room menus, as the items are usually different and old on the menu. Bit pricier when there are campus events, but worth it for the convenience.
We booked based on ratings, looking for a 4 to 5 star hotel. This sadly, was not. The room was adequate, but thats where it ends. Chipped walls, disappointing bathroom. The food was NOT good and very overpriced. The pool was very small (much different than images lead us to believe) but we appreciated having it to ourselves. We werent told we could only have it for a small block of time however. For children, this doesnt always work. I did call ahead, to be clear. Parking, should have been included but was again, an overpriced expense. When I travel to NYC I expect this. To Syracuse, I dont. Rochester, Buffalo, those cities dont charge. Dallas, Denver, Tucson, never have I paid for parking and at finer hotels. I was disappointed. The final straw was never having the opportunity to decide for myself (and my family) whether it bothered us that we were staying in a temporary residence for college students who may or may not have been exposed to Covid. This should have been disclosed. Especially since we had to disclose we were traveling with children. Different floor, but same restaurant, same elevators, same gym. I was very upset by this. And both my husband and I are first responders! We were not looking to bring our children into this, but for the sake of a funeral we had no alternatives. Our hope was to make this trip as positive, and pleasant as possible. I have to say we didnt reach our goal.
With the appearance of this being a higher end hotel, I was highly disappointed in the service we received from the staff. There was a lot of misinformation provided and when I spoke to the manager about it, he shared that the front desk staff had submitted a report detailing the exact opposite of what I was telling him. Which I find it odd that she would have ever submitted a report if she felt she never did anything to fault. The manager seemed very unconcerned, but said he would look into it. The only positive is that the room was clean.
Positive: location is great size of room and bed were great restaurants at hotel also great Negative: room was dusty i found used silverware at the floor entrance of the room parking is not included with reservation and hotel does not takes responsibility if the car gets damaged or if someone tries to break in
Dated decor but fairly clean. TV in one room was very very small, TV in the other room was larger but very old. We werent able to connect any devices to it as they didnt register. We werent told that parking was an additional $16 a day until after we had checked in. For the price of the Hotel rooms and the amount of amenities that we couldnt use due to covid, I would think they would find a way to compensate guests, like dont charge them an additional $16 a day to park. Rooms are pretty small for more than a one night stay, I will probably look for a different hotel in the area next time. It wasnt a bad experience but I certainly wasnt impressed by any part of the stay either.
From no pool availability (when I booked the room specifically for a weekend away from my kids to relax and swim) to the pubic hairs in my shower I would say this was the biggest waste of $150 of my life. They comped my breakfast to make up for everything and it turned out to be choice of Danish, muffin or croissant with milk, juice or coffee... For $11?!?! That is not breakfast!! And thats not making up for the disgusting room or the lack of all the amenities I was promised upon booking! STAY ANYWHERE ELSE
Everyone on staff is helpful. I felt safe walking in the common areas. I ordered room service one evening. Had French onion soup but it was way too salty. I went down to speak to manager and they were so apologetic and accommodating. They gave me 2 clam chowders. Totally unexpected but that shows how much they care. Always professional.
Im rating the hotel with 4 stars out of 5 having in mind how difficult is to keep hotels open during these times. The stay was OK, and the staff was definitely doing their best. Nevertheless there were number of minor flaws in my opinion not that difficult to fix, and fixing them would make the stay much better. That included some power outlets not working in the room, outdated TV not allowing to attach own streaming device, annoying way the AC/heater is set to work, and some more - none of them really very important or critical for us.
Our son is a sophomore at Syracuse University. We have stayed in many hotels over the past two years. We have found the locations inconvenient and the quality of the hotels average to poor. The Sheraton is located on the campus of Syracuse University, which makes it very convenient when visiting our son. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the rooms lovely, and the price comparable to hotels 10 to 15 minutes away. Dont waste your time trying to find a better deal...the best deal is at the Sheraton.
Everyone I interacted with was wonderful. The people who made my room service breakfast (and got me iced coffee and a mimosa even when they werent on the menu!), the manager who got me another iced coffee during the conference when all that was out was hot coffee, and all of the event staff were incredibly kind and thoughtful!
Do not park in the sheratons garage. After parking for 5 hours my car hood was covered in rust and some kind of calcified white material. It appears to have dripped onto hood I have called and only get directed to voicemails. No one has returned by calls. Reading other reviews I have found others have had damage and hotel accept no responsibility. I took car straight to car wash which did remove some of the build up but my hood is left with stains all over it. Beware if you park here your stay may cost you much more then expected
We stayed at this hotel due to the convenience of being in the center of most. The price was a little more than we would have liked being 159 a night. When we first got there the room key would not work and had to go back down to front desk numerous times. The rooms were ok! But just ok. For the price they charge you would have thought they would have a much nicer room. It was just basic. Charge 16/day per parking on top of the price a night and we opt in to upgrade for the club price on the 9th floor for $40 more a night and it was not worth it what so ever! The fitness center was closed but the pool was open. The picture of the pool is deceiving in the hotel pics was very small and cold!!! There were 2 wine glasses that sat out side our door from the time we arrived on a Friday night and still were sitting there when we left Sunday. When we checked out my husband wanted to pay with a different card than what we reserved the hotel with and would not let us!! Seriously!! Come on never had an issue with payment like that before at any other hotel we have stayed at.. there for with everything I only gave two stars for the staff being mostly friendly.
This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel. If not for the desirable location, I would have never stayed a second time. I encourage the management and staff to try harder. Rooms are very dated and checkin comes off as a chore for some of the staff. Restaurant food quality needs improvement.
The hotel is ideally located, well maintained, pleasant interiors. The lady at the front desk- Janet , was extremely helpful & well-mannered. She helped us with suggestions for local attractions, eateries, 4th july fireworks etc; would definitely come back here whenever we need to stay in the area.
Hotel is close to everything the hospital the college etc.The room seemed a little dated and beat up. The door was all scratched and dinged up. The lamp was falling apart. The tv was small. The staff was kind but not the friendliest if that makes senseEverything made the hotel feel like a 2 star hotel instead of a 4 star
I had a short 2 day business stay. The decor was nice and my room clean. Check in was easy & quick and staff gave me access to my room at 12:30 despite the 4pm check in, so that was really nice. The AC in the room was a bit high so it was a little cold in my room and when I tried to adjust the temperature it seemed to have 2 settings; off or too cold. Water pressure in the shower was lacking and as a woman who stands 411 tall the toilet in the bathroom was uncomfortably high, my feet couldnt reach the floor. Overall, it was a pleasant enough stay with a comfy bed and attentive staff.
The hotel was lovely, but the website promised large bathtubs in every room. So i was disappointed to see a small shower/tub combo. i was so looking forward to soaking in a deep bubble bath since I cant at home.Bartenders at Sitrus were so freindly and welcoming. Quick service, yummy drinks and good food.Had to ask for luggage cart to get my own bags up to room. Ended up injuring my back. I should have asked for help, but didnt see anyone to ask.
We always enjoy our stay at Sheraton University Hotel. The rooms are updated and clean. Two good restaurants at the hotel. Ordered room service and it came immediately. Wonderfully located next to the University and all the restaurants on Marshall St. Always our first choice in booking for the area.
Pretty good place during Covid-19 restrictions. No coffee in lobby area. Coffee shop closed during our visit. Coffee in room was disgusting. Thermostat in our room wasnt working. Several long dark hairs in tub and on bathroom floor, yuk. Bed & pillows were comfortable. TV was a little small. Difficult to read print on screen from bed. Clearance in parking garage is very low, 68 if I remember. Also quite expensive but probably necessary on college campus. Close to VA hospital and other hospitals.
Decent hotel in a great location without much amenities.First off mark at the front desk was super helpful (unfortunately we was the only one at the front desk that was helpful the white girl was downright rude)The rooms are old and dated. The pool is not really heated was too cold to use, we requested multiple times that they turn up the heat, they said they would look into it as it’s is “unusually cold” but nothing was done, the pool was not useable. The restaurant has super friendly staff but the selections were not that great, the breakfast buffet leaves a lot to be desired..They charge for parking & No electric vehicle charging.
While travelling home from boston we stopped in Syracuse to find over night accommodations. Sheraton was the first and only hotel we looked at. Even though there was a wedding or two being hosted at the hotel, we were able to book a last minute room on line (in the hotels business centre# using points. As the hotel was almost fully booked, they were unable to offer us an enhanced room #we are spg gold). However, the very friendly and responsive first desk staff offered us access to the club lounge during our stay, which was greatly appreciated by my family. The club lounge offered something for everyone, it was well stocked, and the staff was very friendly and responsive.our hotel room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable.we picked up take out dinner from the hotel restaurant - staff there were also very friendly and responsive. And the food was very good, and a very good value. Thank you.We used the indoor pool and found it to be too cold to enjoy.Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay, we were treated very well, and felt our business was appreciated. We would not hesitate to come back again if we are in the area. Thank you!
Great hotel, centrally located, with exceptional staff and many amenities. Nevertheless, we had a sleepless one night stay because of the loud noise in the room from the refrigerator compressor. The mini fridge is in the center of the room (in the tv cabinet) and it went off and on loudly all night. The noise alternating with the sound of the room’s air vents made for a difficult night.
I am currently a Platinum Elite Member of the Marriott Rewards program. I would like to use my past stays as a reference to the this particular stay i have recently completed. I would like to commend this location as being the best hotel I have stayed at. At no time did i ever feel unwelcome for my stay. Everyone I had dealings with did a fantastic job. Starting out with Devorah returning my phone call during the holiday time for my extended stay (no other hotels even answered the phone). Any communication with sales after that was also exceptional. Tina, in the lounge was awesome. She was extremely friendly and very helpful with the hotel amenities and information in the area. Bob, also in the lounge did a fantastic job. These two made me feel like i was part of their family, this was welcome as i was away from my family for the holidays. They both also keep the place clean, stocked and organized. They both deserve to be recognized! Thanks!Again, I want to commend this hotel for the fantastic job they did for my stay. I always will stay here, when I am in town!!! THANKS!
The hotel is the best location for the college. The staff from arrival to departure takes interest and concern for your comfort. We arrived early and found that our room was ready to check in to which is always a wonderful surprise. The onsite parking is easy to access and priced reasonably. We ordered room service which was wonderful and exceptional quick. We came to the hotel for the college tour and it made it such an easy and welcoming trip at a time when it feels a little stressful of leaving your child to start their own life 3000 miles from home in Los Angeles. Thank you again to everyone.
Bedroom and conference space top notch. Excellent easy wifi and tv. Nice staff in the bar but the food was way below what I would have expected. I did get for inedible shrimp dish. Nice wine selection for hotel life. Bar also not crazy loud like many I experience on the road. Exercise area had excellent treadmills
The venue and department banquet was awesome. The staff serving the food and drinks was great. What sucked bad was our room that we were supposed to check into at 4 pm wasnt ready until 6:22 pm. My wife had to get ready for a banquet in a public bathroom. They did nothing for us. Just didnt care one bit about our situation they put us in.
I’m a local resident, having renovations done, decided to support travel industry and rent a couple of rooms while work is being completed. Spent my first night with reservations for 3 nights at Marriott downtown. Not even 10 mins into visit canceled two nights and two rooms (read those reviews on their page). Best decision I made was checking into Sheraton on University Ave! Check in with LITA was increíble, she was so polite and ensured us it was okay to ask questions. Hotel is working on reservations for pool, with ease we made our reservation! Lita is so attentive to her guests, there was an hour unreserved later in the evening and she called our room to let us know! She heard our kids disappointment when having to leave the pool and reached out! Bottom line, stay has been amazing but interaction with Lita has been more than we could ever ask for , thanks Lita!
Had a very nice stay at Sheraton Syracuse Univ. The staff was friendly, the suite had just about the right about of everything: space, bed comfort, working desk comfort and bathroom amenities. If I had one complaint it would be the parking size - cars felt cramped in at least those nearest to the hotel. Still I highly recommend the hotel it was very good for the price and the location could not be beat. We walked to the University which was why we were there. It was so easy.
Best part of stay is that the hotel is directly within the hub of the campus and a street over from Marshall Street, the campus business sector. Not much of a variety of foods, but no worries because 5 minutes away you can order any cuisine of your liking on M Street. Perfect hotel for family members of students who attend S.U. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Only complaint was my room was cold and shower force was limited, definitely a facility preserving energy use! But overall, a good hotel!
I had a lovely stay at the Sheraton this week. The accessible hotel room was nice with plenty of space for me and my two wheelchairs. The bathroom had a roll in shower with a shower bench and plenty of space to move around. The restaurant - Rachels - was lovely for both breakfast and lunch. Beth was a wonderful server. The parking garage is tight but has ample accessible parking spaces, however, the shuttle didnt appear to be wheelchair accessible. My only other concern is that the lobby has an overwhelming scent to it. If you have chemical sensitivities, this lobby will likely cause you issues.
The most friendliest and helpful staff by far!Courteous throughout the hotel. Clean and.beautifully kept.Up on Business, the conference area was well equipped with screen projectors, water on the tables- even mints!Buffet style food was served everything was prepared well and should our company host another forum, Id definitely attend again!Desk Manager Kim, Driver Ernie and my event planner was very helpful and accommodating me as my flight home.was cancelled and did all they could to make sure I was worry free till I was able to find my way home--Thanks so much!!🙏
I stayed here because it was the most convenient to Syracuse University. Convenient is probably an understatement. Its right next door/ on campus/ immediate proximity, etc. for the function I needed to attend. I was upgraded to a King suite on the top floor since they didnt have my room ready for me upon arrival. Im not mad at that! The room was spacious, the bed was so comfortable and the staff was accommodating. The hotel was in a state of renovation but I didnt feel that the quality of my stay was diminished at all. Although I forgot her name, the woman who checked me in went above and beyond and Im so grateful. The view of the campus and the city was ridiculously good. So good that I took pictures and posted them on Google Maps. They received tons of views! Im sure my experience is just another in a bucket of experiences as this hotel is consistently sold out. As soon as a room became available, I swooped in! Its pricier than the other hotels, but I value convenience to locations I visit more than anything. I didnt have to drive around and do anything extra than attend my event and walk next door to my room. Ive always loved Sheraton hotels (bed, bedding, staff, etc) and this hotel was no exception.Great job guys and thank you for the experienceAnd no, this was not a paid review. My credit card felt every penny that I paid during this stay.
I actually had to argue with the front desk to get them to service our room. They used COVID as an excuse to not service the room until after check-out. If you lower the service provided, then lower the cost of the room accordingly. This is a cost-cutting strategy to maximize profit. Would not stay again.
Really comfortable rooms, with great sound minimization, so I didnt notice the construction while working in my room. I was there for business, and the room was very comfortable for doing some work in between meetings. Staff was very friendly. I appreciate the hotels over all green efforts. Great location, being on the university campus and near a number of food/beverage places. Only disappointment was that the coffee shop in the hotel had limited hours (they were closed by 2:00). Shuttle service was wonderful, very convenient.
Rooms were extremely clean and well appointed. The mattress was very plush and comfortable, the staff was extremely friendly including the shuttle drivers. Only slight flaw would be that a lot of light sneaks under the door and into the room at night, so if you need it to be really dark, youll have to take some of the extra pillows from the bed and cover the gap under the door.
Attended a wedding at the hotel. The bar downstairs had a good ambience, the rooms seemed nice. However, Syracuse students live in the hotel and it really brings down the clientele. They arent very respectful or clean. The wedding was great, food was decent, room was big. Staff was attentive.
Nice, clean (really clean)! Beds are delightful. A/C can be a little too cold in meeting rooms. Adjustable in bedrooms. Food is delicious as well. Staff is very pleasant, eager to please. Very helpful. Only downfall-although free parking in adjacent garage, you have to ride in separate elevators down to lobby to navigate over to other set of elevators to rooms. Not the worst but a tiny inconvenience. Will stay here again. Extremely convenient for Syracuse U. visitors!
I have stayed here many times. The rooms are well designed, clean and beds are comfy. On this occasion my bathroom sink didnt drain at all, which left me wondering why housekeeping didnt notice when they cleaned the sink. However, when I mentioned this to the front desk it was promptly fixed. Front desk staff argued with me over which type of room I booked. The concession madeWas to give me a free rollaway for the night when my son would be staying at the hotel, since they gave me a room with one bed. The food still needs work here. Rachels food is sometimes pretty good. Room service is quite variable. The Greek salad was pretty good, but breakfast was just okay. Convenience to SU is the main draw here.
The staff was accommodating and friendly. Our room was ready early so we could change before the wedding we were attending. The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the pillows. The reception was held here and I cannot say enough about the organization and efficiency of the banquet service. Plus the food was very good. Overall fantastic stay.
The hotel appears renovated and stylish. The staff was accommodating and friendly; Id give them 5 stars, but the facilities were outdated. The hotel room was noisy and too warm, although the staff worked to regulated the temperature for us. The in house restaurant/bar, Citrus, was less than stellar, skumky beers, what tasted like unclean taps, rubbery chicken, it just was not enjoyable. Overall, the facilities were clean, and the staff was friendly, but the low rating is due to the need to ask for comfort and disappointing dining.
As a Platinum member for over 6 years, and as a globetrotter, I can assure everyone who stays here will be extremely happy with everything. The front desk staff (all of them) have been taking care of my family and I every weekend for nearly a year. They always ask which room we would prefer for an upgrade, since we have varying number of people from week to week. The entire staff always greet us with a smile and we have come to know many of the staff on a personal level. The Citrus Hill restaurant is absolutely amazing and the chef prepares lamb to perfection. We have been pleasantly surprised by the Platinum recognition that we receive in this small hotel (of course that is relative to all of the worldwide locations at which we have stayed). We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Sheraton exceeded my expectations at the Club Level which Ive never experienced. We underestimated our arrival time and the staff graciously allowed us to check-in very early at no additional charge. The convenience of having evening appetizers and a.m. breakfast on the same floor was awesome and convenient! Staff was very courteous and attentive and did not mind our questions re: directions although others were checking-in as well. I especially loved the lobby area which allowed visitors access to a host of computers along with a reading area nearby. We utilized both areas along with the gym. Beds were so comfortable and the rooms very clean. I highly recommend this hotel for leisure or business.
In short, I stay at Sheratons and Marriotts only, mostly due to dependability, comfort and service. This Sheraton gets a lot of university guests, Alumni etc use and I am sure it it is a challenge to keep up with after a home football game. This Sheraton team does a great job keeping it clean and up-to-date. The staff is professional and looks to the needs of the guest. Parking is easy. Rooms (stayed in a two bed room) are clean and accommodating and comfortable. Shower was a little tight. Keep in mind if you are in this hotel you are most likely NOT hanging out in the hotel - you are most likely here to attend University events. The Hotel is a cant beat for that university convenience.
Excellent service at this hotel. The bartenders were extra attentive and served house-made free chips with the beer. Alex, in particular, handled rowdy customers that broke glasses with class. There are ample food and drink options and the 24-hout gift shop has useful stuff. Overnight staff was helpful and cheerful when I demagnetized my room key. All in all, I dont think a business traveler could possibly ask for more from this hotel.
This is a solid, no nonsense hotel. It is clean and fresh. The beds are outstanding. Every time. The concierge lounge is well staff and immaculate. The concierge hot food needs improvement, otherwise good. The lobby is useless. The doors keep it too cold and you cant work there because of the traffic flow its too distracting. Gift shop needs major upgrade in inventory, its a sad gift shop like you would find at a motel on the side of the road in Iowa. Sad. Fix that. The Internet is really a mess. Way too slow. Room service was excellent and essential.
This was our first time in Syracuse but after staying at the Sheraton, it definitely wont be our last! We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon and stayed until Thursday afternoon. The staff were absolutely friendly, accommodating, helpful and just made me feel more welcome! The ambience at the hotel is very nice as they newly renovated so just even hanging out in the lobby area was nice as chairs are so comfy! The hotel is also very central as its right by the university. Just a few steps away and you have a little strip where you can find a Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts or yummy pizza! The rm itself is pretty standard. It was nice and clean with all the necessary amenities. What i like best is how you need a key card on the elevator to be able to get onto your floor. In general, it made me feel more safe! :) Wish we were able to use the swimming pool but we didnt have time so definitely something to try next time!
We recently held a training conference at this venue as the coronavirus was just starting to impact attendance and raise concerns. The hotel staff was overly accommodating and flexible to deal with. They took extra measures toward attendee safety.Absolutely would return to Sheraton Syracuse -- customer service could not have been any better!
We were very pleased with our room and our total experience at The Sheraton Syracuse University location. From the time we checked in until the time we checked out, all of our expectations were exceeded and then some. Carlos at the front desk, was the first staff member we met. He was wonderful and so helpful. He is the perfect example of how first impressions carry through the entire experience. I needed a handicapped shuttle to the Dome for our daughters graduation, everything ran so smoothly I didnt have to worry at all. Ernie the driver was so pleasant and helpful. You really have a great staff. Our room was incredible, we couldnt ask for more.
Nice hotel, location, super nice staff (other than shuttle driver). Comfortable bed, excellent food. Seemingly clean room, just not sanitized to home standards. Wear your flip flops everywhere. No bare feet....unless you want athletes foot. Shuttle drivers can be challenging to work with.
Nice gym, fluffy beds, excellent staff. Everyone is extremely helpful, kind & professional. Eco-friendly hotel offering recycling in each room. Nice meeting spaces and socializing spots. Clean, friendly, warm atmosphere. Very strong internet. Bathrooms are clean and the water gets hot. A wonderful spot to stay!
Our stay was very disappointing. Although the location is great, service and cleanliness was horrible. As we checked in the girl helping us continued to eat, talking with her mouth full. She even commented inbetween bites that she couldn’t believe how much we were paying +$500 for one night for the queen suite. There was a dirty fork next to the bed from a previous customer. Gross all around “!
The restaurant is way over priced, was lied to about the price for one night it was supposed to be $135 and I ended up paying $200. And ontop of that theres no microwave in the room , the Starbucks wasnt open at all even tho it says it is Im never staying here again .
This hotel was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a burger from room service and it was very good, while my wife and daughter had similar comments on their breakfast. The only real issue is having to take two elevators from your room to get to your car. Not the best design. Otherwise, a nice place for the price we paid - remembering that we had a special convention rate.
Nice hotel but the curtains didnt close all the way (missed it by about 4 feet) made the room to bright in the morning. Cleaning staff also started knocking early and even again after the first time I said I was in the shower. Make sure to put your do not disturb sign up. Nice looking hotel overall though.
I recently stayed at the Sheraton for a business conference. Overall, the hotel was satisfactory, but was not quite up to the level of some other hotels I have stayed at before. The staff were all very pleasant, particularly at Check In/Check Out and the restaurants. I also enjoyed the fact that if you chose to not have your room tended to by housekeeping, that the hotel gave you a voucher to use at the hotel restaurants. However, there were some smaller details that kept the hotel from fully reaching my expectations. They had a healthy vending machine, which was a nice touch, however the Popchips that I purchased from it were expired. The toilet in my room also did not flush very well, requiring multiple flushes anytime it was used.
This was a great place for our short stay in Syracuse. Excellent location, the center of our travels. Dinner at Rachels was great after the long drive in. Spent the first day at the State Fair and the sauna and pool were just what the doctor ordered to relax those tired muscles. After a delicious breakfast (much more than we could eat) it was off to the mall for a full day of shopping. The room was a great place to come back to. Clean, comfortable and affordable. I cant say enough about how good the service was from the entire staff, from check in to the wait staff to checkout. Already looking forward to our return visit. Thanks Sheraton for a great stay!
We had a wonderful trip back to the SU Campus and a comfortable and relaxing stay at the Sheraton on the SU Campus. The lobby is bright and spacious. The front desk staff is attentive and friendly and had an umbrella at the ready for the unpredictable Syracuse weather. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. Parking was a breeze. We had an excellent experience all around at the Sheraton on the SU Campus and highly recommend this property- Go Orange!
Usually I do not bother rating hotels (its a pointless activity, really—does the hotel chain care?), but our experience here warrants a negative review. We were visiting an old friend in downtown Syracuse, so we picked this hotel for its convenience, despite the steep price tag. We walked in with eight bags, at six in the evening, and were offered no help in the lobby. (Eventually I got a cart, which we left outside our room—it was there at ten the next morning, which, I guess was good because we had to lug our bags back down). I checked in and discovered we had to pay to park in the hotels garage, a fee that was not mentioned when I booked the room over the phone. The lobby was attractive, but our floor was in rough shape—scuff marks, carpet stains, outdated decor, etc. Room was like any other hotel room, clean and comfortable enough. The heated pool was barely warm. Restaurant was okay, nothing to write home about (though the waitress was cool and comped us a drink). For the price we paid to stay here one night—well over $200, with a AAA discount—it just wasnt worth it.
The style of the spacious room, the quality of the furnishings, linens and towels and the immaculate housekeeping provided a level of service that is difficult to find at a five star luxury hotel. For a moderately priced, business hotel, this definitely exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant served tasty, reasonably priced food and cocktails. Thank you for such a pleasant stay.
First impression is a Great stay, they allowed early check in when I came. Very grateful for that... Originally I booked a twin 2 beds room... Kindly the hotel upgraded me to a king size bed.*The only thing that ticked me off were the stairs. Access to the stairs is fine, getting out is only one way, the ground floor exit. So if you want to take the stairs and avoid elevator traffic, you cannot. I hope the hotel take this into consideration and fix this! Its a good way to exercise, dont take that away. Thank you!*
I had a very nice stay. My room was well appointed, plenty of seating in addition to the bed. It appeared very clean. I was surprised to find two packages of regular coffee in addition to one of decaf. That is rare and had I had enough creamer I would’ve had another cup.
My wife and I stayed at the Sheraton the weekend of the 21st of January. I was out on business, and she came along. The hotel had very few guests at the time. Since it was a playoff weekend, we went into the bar to watch the games. The staff were just outstanding, particularly Kevin and Ron, who engaged us in conversation about the teams, and provided outstanding service. Later we were in the Club Lounge, where Tina was equally friendly and helpful. All in all it was an extremely memorable stay for us because of the high class of service. The room was very nice as well, with a great view overlooking the University. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Hotel is very convenient to the campus! The food is average, especially the in-room dining breakfast options. Need to update the menu to accommodate modern dietary restrictions, especially for gluten-free guests. The room was cold and drafty. Had to request extra blankets.
I have no complaints as far as my room (very clean and the bathroom was spotless), the public spaces were good, hotel front desk staff - very nice and accommodating. The my recommendation - put in an outdoor pool and Sitrus Cafe, the chicken tenders tasted frozen and very salty. The sit down breakfast was excellent.
This hotel was lovely, our view was fantastic of the campus from the sixth floor, and the staff was amazing. After my husband slipped a disc in his back, the staff really showed us how amazing. They went above and beyond to help us in every way for two days, even lending us a wheelchair to use for two days. Every request was met with a smile and prompt attention. I cannot express well enough, how amazing they were, from the maids to the gentlemen who brought our food, to the one who helped us load our car. We are forever grateful. Excellent prople skills, and excellent response time, every time. Thank you so very much.
I was greeted very nicely by the receptionist. She was friendly and gaveme directions to my place of worhip. One of the staff was leaving for the night and she offered to stay to help meprint my boarding pass. I was provided with transportantion to a gathering and to the airport. This was a great savings! The hotel was beyond my expection. I like the fact that the hotel was extremely clean. I also liked that if I needed to wash something there was a washer and dryer on the the 3rd floor!
This grand hotel is just close to school of Education, Syracuse University and Marshall Square. Perhaps the only grand hotel close to the university. It’s easily accessible and has a big and spacious parking lot. The building is wonderfully constructed. The services, staff and amenities are of international standards. We had a pleasant stay.
I took my son to Syracuse University for a meeting and decided to stay on campus since parking is always an issue at most universities. My son and I had a great experience, and actually met a star on the womens basketball team who was also really nice. I would say the Sheraton exceeding my expectations for a hotel right on a college campus. Ive been to a few other hotels on campuses (will not name) and that not run as well and seemed to be worn pretty badly which I would expect for hotels at college. We greeted immediately and the staff was extremely accommodating. Thank you Sheraton.
Overall, this hotel is lovely. The customer service is excellent; the food terrific though my waiter at Rachel’s for breakfast was slow to greet me (solo woman traveler), bring my coffee and take my order (the eggs were runny —though I asked for them to be scrambled on the dry side)—-but still very well presented and enjoyed. I have two suggestions that keep my rating from being excellent: 1) there was not a charging station in my room—-only fully loaded power strips on the floor so I feared for forgetting my cell phone when charging ?out of sight, out of mind); and 2) the coffee packets in my room were very outdated (expired in January, February, but I rushed making coffee from the March package since it was April 13), the creamer packets must have been quite old since when I poured the containers, the cream curdled my coffee!Everything else was great. I would also suggest that Club lounge hot hor’deurves include no dairy items for guests with dairy/lactose intolerance issues. The other items (dry/pre-packaged were fine).
I only stay in Marriott properties because I like their consistency and quality. I stayed at the Sheraton since that was the location of my Rotary Conference. I was pleasantly surprised by the property and stay. The conference went very smoothly and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The property is well designed and up to date. I am very happy that Sheraton is part of the Marriott points plan so I can stay at Sheraton hotels.
We wanted a place close to Syracuse U for a college tour. I had only driven through Syracuse in the past and was not familiar with the area at all. The Sheraton is, for all intents and purposes, on the campus. Perfect location. At check-in, the front desk woman offered an upgrade at no extra charge. (This was in June and no regular classes in session, so maybe it wasnt too busy.) But when the room she was going to give us wasnt ready, she upgraded us to the Club Level. Very nice. Everyone was friendly, room was great and location perfect.
Lived in Syracuse for a long time, but this was my second time in the hotel. It is very updated with sitting areas with a fireplace. It is very nice. The employees were very ready and willing to help. The second floor ladies room was absolutely beautiful! the hotel was very clean!
The front desk staff were pleasant and the gym was decent, but so many unexceptable things wrong with this hotel. Mattress horrible, sheets like sandpaper, smallest TV ever in a 4 star hotel room, called for a regular coffee pod because there was only decaf in our room, they never brought it up as promised, key didnt work in the elevator and everything felt cheap, including the door to the room which didnt keep the noise from the hall out at all. First world problems yes, but when you spend money on a nicer hotel you expect better than this.
The place is comfortable, but for the price, a rip off. I am sitting in one of their rooms right now. There is whistling sound coming from the window, and it is not very windy outside. That sound has gotten quite loud at times since I checked in two days ago. It is all these little things that make this place not so great. The bathroom sink does not drain quickly, but quickly fills up with what can be rather dirty water (I did tell housekeeping about this, but they clearly did nothing). The tub/shower has an extremely slippery surface; if I were Sheraton, I would worry about a law suit. But the worst thing is that they allow pets, and across from my room somebody brought their two little dogs, which are gifted with very loud and irritatingly high pitched yelps. My first night here, they were yelping non-stop for a while. I did not want to change rooms - too tired. I did complain at one point, and somehow the dogs settled down, but they stayed, and in fact, I heard them this morning. In sum, and again, the place is okay, but not worth the $300 or so dollars they charge per night.
Found overall experience a bit lackluster. My niece attends Syracuse and we are up there quite a bit. This hotel often charges fairly high rates. The bed was super uncomfortable. I have the W bed and mattress and know that this one wasnt that. super uncomfortable. The comforter insert needs to be washed. Check in didnt offer upgrade. Felt as though i was either in an older room or perhaps even one that is used for student housing. $15 per day parking fee is ridiculous. there isnt any place to park on the street without having to drive around or move your car at unconvenient times.
Great hotel, extra clean with updated rooms. For all intents and purposes this location sits on the campus of Syracuse University. Restaurant in the lobby and just a short walk around the corner are plenty of small restaurants and bars. If youre alight slept stay away from room 632, the air conditioner is very loud when it runs. I added a few pictures of the view from the room. If you use the parking deck make sure to keep your room key, the key allows your exit.
My wife and I stayed in this hotel for two nights after driving down from Canada for Black Friday. We wanted a hotel that was central to Syracuse, to hit the outlets and other shopping malls.Location-wise, I don’t know Syracuse but it was close to a major highway - and right next to the university. A few one-way streets, but with Google Maps it was easy to locate.Being near the university, there are many shops, restaurants, and a pharmacy right within walking distance.Check-in was quick, and we were given a room on the club floor; easy to access our floor, which was interesting. The elevators are away from the front desk - near the front doors - and not fully visible, which I found strange. Our room was nicely appointed as a standard Sheraton room, and the club lounge was a nice surprise. There was a slightly better breakfast than I’ve seen at other locations, with the standard evening honor-bar service and snacks.I didn’t know it until the day we checked out, but the hotel is very popular for tailgating parties - a radio station had setup their broadcast in the lobby in the morning, and I wish we hadn’t been in such a rush as there was going to be food served in the lobby. Definitely a big football city!All-in-all, I’d stay there again.
We arrived at the hotel to bring our daughter to the university. The staff is incredible and accommodated many boxes, suitcases, and overall chaos. Nadia is the manager who reached out to us personally to make sure that our needs and overall state of mind was okay after leaving. This is one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had and will continue to be the place we call Home while visiting the college. Thank you once again.
If youre in Syracuse on business and looking for a nice hotel, do not stay here. Honestly wouldnt recommend this hotel to anybody. There were little black hairs all over my bed skirt AND under my sheets. There were several long hairs on the bathroom counter and in the sink. The club lounge is basically a play pen with free food for anyone below that age of 15 on game nights. Theres no valet but if you choose to park yourself in the parking garage attached to the hotel, you get charged $15 per night on your hotel bill. Oh, and the hotel is partially a dorm for Syracuse students so the hallways literally reek of marijuana. If you do choose to stay at this hotel, know that the main entrance to the hotels parking garage gets blocked off on game nights but literally no one at the hotel lets you know that the side entrance is open for hotel guests still.Worst Marriott that Ive stayed in, ever.
The air conditioner in our room was not working properly. We called maintenance who came up and told us it’s because of the hot weather outside. (It was evening and cooler outside then in our 78 degrees room). After a few hours of not being able to sleep I called down to the front desk who asked if I’d like to switch rooms. It was midnight and my 2 children were sleeping almost naked because of the heat. I asked if we could just switch without having to pack up the entire room and they told me no. My husband was ready to pack the whole room and go home because it was so hot! I asked if they had a fan at least and the front desk said they would call maintenance and ask. They never got back to me. I found the fan in front of my door in the hallway like a half hour later. No notice it was out there or anything. We had an AWFUL night sleep and had to drive 2 hours after my husband had a full day of orientation to attend. I would NOT recommend this hotel as the staff did nothing to accommodate us.
I have stayed in many accessible hotel rooms. My room at this Sheraton (room 518) was one of the most user friendly wheelchair accessible rooms Ive ever used. The roll in shower and toilet were great. The sink, although ADA compliant, would not have usable if I did not have a seat elevator on my power wheelchair. Rocker switches on all outlets and light fixtures were easy to operate. And most importantly - the door tension was appropriate and not so heavy as to make it impossible to open the door! The conference facilities were excellent.
My son and I stayed at the Sheraton Syracuse as we were in Syracuse to tour the university. The location was top notch and walking distance to lots of areas on campus. The shuttle service was helpful and brought us to and from the airport and to locations on campus. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. I plan to stay at this hotel at all future visits to Syracuse.
Stayed 1 night on tour ot Syracuse U campus the following AM- walk across the street and you are there. Parking included in rate. Our Reserv Floor included the Snack/Breakfast Hospitatliy Suite evening snacks, little finger food, cheese, bev- just ok. Breakfast food was better. Room high up clean, water bottles complemetary in room. Bed nice. Staff pleasant and quick check in. My only complaint is that there were little black ants crawling around on the bathroom floor when we went to take a shower that night. No obvious food was to be found and bathroom was otherwise clean. I was too tired to complain and my daughter just wanted to go to bed . I dont know if this has something to do with he fact that food is served on this floor?? There were no ants in the sleeping area. Perhaps pest conrol should visit the floor. I have no other complains other than the ants. I would consider staying again- I think.
Fantastic location if you are attending events at Syracuse! Shuttle service was excellent. Had to pay more to upgrade to 2 queen beds vs 2 full beds even though the hotel was lightly occupied. Guest room was cold and uncomfortable - not remedied even after I called the front desk to complain.
Having stayed at multiple Marriott properties in the Syracuse area, I was least impressed with the Sheraton in terms of its offerings. It offered a club lounge with lackluster food; a TV without a way to see the guide and channel list; and internet that required logging in every day. Best part here was the dry sauna.
The hotel staff night & manger were wonderful. Very helpful always asking how our son was doing and adding stays day by day as need. It was a long 8 days. Even the starpoints kicked in for payment. Changed room beddings for us upon a unannounced arrival because of my allergy. We have stayed here before as university parents but not that time. Thank you. Sheraton !!
Overall a phenomenal experience. The staff was fantastic and attened to my every need. The manager was especially responsive to a leak in my room and offer compensation despite the fact it was not necessary. The food was wonderful at Rachels and the drinks, bar, and atmosphere at the Sitrus lounge was unsurpassed.
My dad and I stayed over for a night as my mom was a patient at Crouse Hospital. From calling to book a room to checking out I was beyond impressed with the polite, professional and kind staff. The room was sufficiently spacious for my dad and I. The room was clean and the beds were BEYOND comfortable. Really enjoyed having 2 chairs in the room! We ordered room service twice- very tasty food and fair prices. If we are in need of a room in Syracuse again- we will surely contact the Sheraton.Thank you for a peaceful, enjoyable stay.
Beginning with check-in, the Sheraton Syracuse was a wonderful experience. All staff members were friendly and professional, especially Josh and Janet from the front desk. The room was pristine and well appointed and extremely comfortable. I heard no outside noise, and no sounds from the hallway or adjoining rooms. The reception for SPG members was awesome, with several selections of hot and cold appetizers, soft drinks, wines, and spirits. Check out was a breeze. The front desk had my cab waiting for me at the appointed time. This is a first class, very well run hotel. I cant say enough good things about the Sheraton Syracuse. Staying there was a wonderful experience.
This is a nice hotel associated with SU campus. I was here for a conference. Convenient entrances for the parking garage. Depending on your situation, you might be able to get the ticket validated so definitely check about that. Conference rooms were partially dim so that made slightly tough on the eyes if youre in the rooms for a while. The food offered at Rachels on the main floor was a buffet with a variety of food options. Great food and even better staff!
The staff at the Hotel was great, the rooms were good. We stayed at the hotel because my son was having surgery at the local hospital and it was within walking distance of the hotel. However the food at the restaurant located within the hotel was not good at all, frankly it was terrible. We ate our meals there because of conveniency and because of the warming atmosphere. Also the cost of leaving our car at the hotel garage with the added taxes and fees was just as much as if we would have parked it daily at the hospital garage. If we had to do this over again we would probably stay at another hotel.
Pretty nice. Good meeting space and restaurant. Rooms are reasonably large and comfortable. Showers are okay. Parking garage convenient, but pay for parking and extremely narrow spots. It would be very easy to get a door ding or other cosmetic damage. Overall, very nice although not outstanding.
We chose the Sheraton because it was the most affordable accommodations that were within walking distance of the university. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. I really appreciated the sauna in the fitness center to relax at the end of the day.
I enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean. I found the food in the restaurant to be really quite good. Interesting options prepared and served quickly. Cant be more convenient to the university and the Marshall Street shopping and dining area. I would definitely stay here again.
I visited SU with my daughter. Sheraton is the most convenient and best choice. hotel to stay. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel accommodations were clean and comfortable. The free airport shuttle was convenient as well. Not only was it available to take you from the airport to the hotel but also to local area restaurants and retail.
This is my second time in Rachels restaurant in many years. It was very quiet only two other tables seated so it was a ghost town. The server was nice, but a little inexperienced. This place has dated decor and looks past its prime. There is nothing really wrong with it but nothing going for it either. I ordered a salad and bacon cheese risotto which was larger than I expected and whole good not as fresh as Id hoped. Id definitely eat the food again and its reasonably priced but Id never go out of my way to go to an empty restaurant with no real discerning features.
This hotel has a wonderful reception, with numerous options for food and drinks in the lobby area. We found the rooms to be clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were at the university for a sporting event and this hotel was a short walking distance to the Carrier Dome. We would highly recommend the Sheraton when in town.
The Sheraton Syracuse Hotel and Convention Center is a gem. From the moment you step through the door you are met by the courteous and friendly staff. Check-in is a breeze and you are ensconced in the comfort of your room in no time at all. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The attention to detail is incredible in that all perceived needs of the traveler are at finger-tip. The beds are delightful, cozy, comfortable and deliver the best nights sleep. Finally, the Hotel Restaurant Rachels is not to be missed. Excellent service by friendly staff and amazing food delightfully presented. All-in-all an excellent experience. My next trip to Syracuse, no questions where Ill stay!
The location is great when visiting Syracuse University. Everything was nice and clean. The room service was very quick and the food was delicious. My only issue with this hotel was with how uncomfortable the bed was. I thought it was just me, but my 17 year old commented that he couldnt sleep because he was uncomfortable.
The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly; however, I did experience trouble in my room. The thermostat was not working properly and a worker had to come to my room around 10:30 PM to address the issue. Since the unit was ultimately broken, I had to switch rooms around 11 PM. I was very tired the next day and not compensated for my trouble. While the room was tidy and clean, it was frustrating to have to pack up and re-locate. I feel that I should have been compensated for the inconvenience.
We arrived to the hotel to check in at 5am extremely tired from our 5 hour drive and still needed to check out on the same day. Jim was unbelievably pleasant and accommodating. He truly made us feel at home right away and gave us a 1pm check out so we could get a few hours of sleep. Ive never been so tired and still been able to feel excited and so welcome upon arriving at a property. Ron from In Room Dining was great and got all of the details of my unnecessarily complicated order perfect. He even delivered the food and mentioned the special requests I had so I knew he hadnt forgotten. Jason was also very helpful. He extended our check out time without hesitation, so we could hurry up and eat before our drive. When we departed he told us a few stories about his experience in hospitality and how he had lived in the same area as us during a portion of his career. This was truly a great experience and I was thoroughly appreciative of how personable each person we interacted with was!
My stay at your hotel was terrific. The room was very clean and comfortable and the styling was very attractive. Your amenities, including gym and pool, were all top notch and the convenient access to Syracuse University was incredible. Finally, every staff person I met was friendly and courteous and went out of their way to be helpful. If in Syracuse again, I would definitely stay with you.
Excellent property with first rate staff. Professionalism of the staff was consistent and exceptionally high throughout the hotel regardless of position. In room dining menu is amongst the best I have seen especially for healthy options including the kids menu, Healthy kids options are rare and a nice addition. Renovated rooms are clean and well appointed.
The air conditioning in the room was broken. The room was over 76 - it was hot and miserable. I called the desk 3 times to take care of the issue. They reset the temperature, but within an hour the temperature climbed right back up. I was told Im so sorry. Ill let someone know to fix it. However, according to previous reviews they wont. Only thing the hotel has got going is the location. Awful night sleep with poor customer service in an overpriced room.
The hotel is in a great location. They have a shuttle service to and from the airport and if you need to go other places, they will accommodate you. The hotel staff was excellent and so was the service. My only complaint was that one elevator was not working and it was a real inconvenience. However, we were compensated for our discomfort. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in the Syracuse area!
This hotel staff showed us excellent service. I was there for a conference and arrived a night early. My wife and I went into the lounge for dinner and received outstanding service from Deb. She far exceeded our expectations. We were very impressed but the customer service we received from the entire staff. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
The hotel was very accommodating. We planned to arrive very late and I called the hotel to let them know and to make up the rollaway bed. Our room was ready for us to just go to sleep when we got there. We were up and out early -- my daughter left her phone charger in the room. When we went back, the maid had the charger and a favorite T-shirt she didnt even realize shed left. They were returned with no problem. The hotel made our quick stay very smooth!
Would definitely stay here again. Essentially on Syracuse campus, the hotel is convenient for business and leisure travelers wanting easy access to campus or the medical center and childrens hospital close by. Comfortable beds and bedding; clean bathrooms; nice small refrig for drinks, etc). Currently under renovation but very friendly staff more than compensates for any mild inconvenience (for example, having to enter the parking garage from Waverly rather than University street). The hotel is relatively close to the major highways too, so convenient if you need to travel on I81 or I690 (nice size mall about 6 miles away- has several outlets and movie theater). There are a few fast food eateries within 5 min walking distance (such as Chipotle, Subway, Dunkin Donuts), as well as a CVS and a couple of Syracuse fan shops (if youre looking for orange gear!).
I checked in very late after a long day and was pleased to get to my room, which was comfortable. The only issue is the bathroom is small. I would also suggest having more items in the pantry, but overall the staff was very, very, very helpful and friendly. The restaurant staff, the housekeeping staff, the front desk staff were all excellent. I found a new hotel to stay at in Syracuse. Road construction around hotel should wrap soon.

Review №1
2022-05-25The Syracuse Sheraton is a great place to stay. Its at/on Syracuse University. Its near the major hospitals downtown. Its near restaurants (indeed, it has two restaurants in the hotel). The place is well kept and has its own parking garage. The staff is unbelievably attentive, friendly and accommodating. I left something in my room accidently but didnt notice it until I arrived at the airport. When I called the hotel to ask them to hold it for me, the shuttle driver, on her own initiative, went to my room and drove it to the airport to get it to me. All I can say is WOW!If management reads my review, you should be aware of how exceptional your employee is I must say that all of your staff was very pleasant.Ive been to a few other hotels in Syracuse over the years. None comes even close. Now Im giving five stars: youre not going to get the fawning and snoot youd expect and demand from a $5,000 or more per night joint, but you will be treated exceptionally well here. If you need the a** kissing, I dont think we can be friends. Ill stay here without you, thanks.

2022-03-28Decent hotel that doesnt quite live up to the 4-star designation, but the customer service was really great so I think wed consider staying here again. One negative is the dog friendly rooms. I had to call the front desk due to a yappy ankle biter in an adjacent room keeping my little ones up late at night. The food was great - breakfasts were reasonably priced and delicious. We had dinner at the restaurant and the steak and burgers were cooked to perfection, super pleased!

2022-04-14This was a very nice hotel with a lot of amenities. For example, there was a gymnasium, a lobby, and the smell was very nice. Additionally they offered a hair dryer, which my friend used extensively. I also like that there was a safe in the room, and it made me feel very safe because I knew my belongings were secure

2022-05-02Had to stay here for work and it was a nice hotel, expensive but nice. When I checked in the clerk was rude, giving me attitude because I did not send in the form where my job pays for the room a head of time. When I called earlier in the day the woman I spoke to told me I did not need to, and stated she had a copy she was filling out right there, so naturally I thought the form was already completed. The desk clerk gave me so much attitude about it, I tried to explain and apologize, but he just said hes going to do it to check me in because I need a room, but I was upset being as how I was told the form was already being filed out over the phone and being sent.Besides that incident the stay was good. Room was nice, no issues there.

2022-06-21This hotel is right on Syracuse University grounds. We did the campus tour and walked back to our room. Theres so many places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. Dinosaur BBQ is about 2 miles from the hotel. Rooms are dated but clean. Its nice for a couple of nights.

2022-04-26Situated at the middle, but end of the campus area. Beautiful upscale rooms , with exquisite dining. Normal water pressure was an unexpected welcome. Staff were personable and friendly. You cant go wrong with this hotel.

2022-05-16My review is about the bar on the first floor of Sheraton.Ive experienced my first public humiliation there.Went on the first date with this guy. I normally dont drink because it triggers my autoimmune disease. This guy kept peer-pressuring me into getting a drink. Just one drink, please have a drink. He went on and on while we were on SU campus walking, and suggested we go to that bar. I said Okay. We go there I ordered Titos Sprite, he ordered beer. Bartender- an older lady with long hair- says $15. The guy WHO INVITED ME AND PEER PRESSURED ME INTO DRINKING says We will be paying separately. I came to such a state of shock, then I hear the bartender SUPER LOUDLY SAYING OH YOULL BE PAYING SEPARATELY? OH I GOTTA CANCEL THIS THEN. Mind you the bar was crowded, it was a graduation weekend. I asked her if they accept Apple Pay. She (again, SUPER LOUDLY) says NO NEED, THIS GENTLEMAN PAID FOR YOU. I said Thank you, the bartender YELLS SHE SAID THANK YOU!I mean she was announcing my public humiliation.I dont know who I hated more, the guy who offered me a drink and didnt pay, or that super loud bartender woman.

2022-05-31Positive: Our stay was comfortable, room was excellent. The hotel staff went out of their way for any request we had, we had multiple staff members help us and all of them were amazing. We will definitely be staying returning.

2022-06-17This hotel should not be a marriot property. Old and Unuqdated, management is very poor. The club level has nothing to offer much to eat if you are gluten free not even a boiled egg.Staff from front desk to restaurant are extremely unhelpfulIf you ask them where to eat breakfast since there is no breakfast , they say‘Google it ‘A one star property with unpleasant staff
