Positive: The rooms were a decent size and so was the television. Negative: I was upset that the pool and hot tub were closed. these facilities were fundamental to my choice to reserve this hotel and I feel that the absence of them during my stay induces me to wish for compensation; I was advertised under false pretences.
The cost of the stay doesn’t match the quality of product. This hotel was beautiful in its day as you can see remnants of what was once a gorgeous upscale hotel. Hotel has not been maintained properly to keep its quality. Practically everything was either broken or severely worn & required replacement. Hot tub not functioning, ice machine not functioning, door handles mismatched etc. The restaurant had 1 worker running the breakfast & it took forever to be served a basic breakfast that had the cost of a great breakfast. Staff was kind, but did not speak English so communication was difficult to express needs.
My wife and I secured a room block at the Sheraton for our wedding this past week. With the volatility of event planning during Covid, we were looking for a hotel that was responsive and accommodating, we found that in spades at this location.Dennis Nemchek was our primary point of contact throughout the process, and we could not have been happier to work with him. He guided us through every step of the event, helping us secure additional rooms and coordinate shuttles from the hotel to our venue. He also helped us put together the next morning brunch, which was held in one of the event spaces. Whatever he is being paid, he deserves a raise. The hotel was also accommodating to the specific needs of our guests. My father is a fall risk, and the Sheraton made sure there was an ADA accessible room for parents to stay in. This allowed them to feel safe and fully engage with the festivities of the weekend. We will have a special appreciation of this hotel for years to come!
The furniture was old and overused. The shower was somewhat stopped up. If you shower too long, you wade in the water. The evening menu was not great. The food was not tasty. The morning food was tasty and good. I do not eat meat and the hotel did not have any turkey sausage that day. The servers night and day were great.
The front desk staff was extremely friendly and professional upon check in/out. They made suggestions and provided me with all the pertinent hotel details: pool, restaurant, gym and Starbucks hours. However, the room was not what I expected to be associated with the Sheraton name. Both beds had visibly dirty bed skirts as well as dirt, dust balls, and curly hairs on the top of the comforter. I had to closely examine them to ensure they werent bedbugs. There were crumbs on the carpet as if someone ate popcorn and dropped it on the floor. There was only one washcloth for a room that I booked for three guests. Housekeeping knocked on the door and announced themselves. Unfortunately, the employee did not speak English and couldnt communicate with me as I requested additional washcloths. The biggest surprise came when using the shower and the faucet pulled away from the wall as if it were only partially attached. I received motel accommodations for five star hotel prices.
Not one if my favorite stays. Had fire alarm go on twice and it was a false alarm. but, god, soo sooo loud. And for good 20 minutes both times. Got multiple charges on my account, and etc. there was whole lot of misunderstandings with charges (apparently their system charges the less than full amount first, and then charges you extra, on top of the $100 deposit that will be returned after the stay, and then charges again some extra and then refunds it, which in my opinion was super complicated and the front desk said that they dont handle the charges, its the computer system that handles the charges if you booked your stay online.) very complicated!!!
You can tell that This hotel havent had a maintenance in 30 years. The lobby, elevators, gym, pool, everything looks really old. I stayed in the club floor that supposed to be the best floor and The carpet in the room was all stained and the furniture old and poorly maintained. The service was below average and the room keys barely work anywhere but in the room.No wonder why this place has an average reviews of 3 stars.Recommend to go to the Marriott next door; that Hotel has a much better vibe, service, and quality.
LOVED everything about the hotel. It is always my first choice when I come to visit. The room as always is clean and the bed is comfortable. The staff is AMAZING - especially Amanda! She is always accommodating and addresses all my needs when she is there. There is a Starbucks in the hotel which is super convenient when you just need a quick drink. Very close to the supermarket and highway is a plus
I chose to stay at the Sheraton Hotel in Tarrytown on a weekend business trip to NYC. I brought my best friend with me and we checked in very easily and quickly. The staff is very polite, the room was definitely luxurious. They had menus readily available for delivery from nearby restaurants. The hotel has a big parking lot. The location is the best because it’s only 20 minutes from Yonkers and the Bronx. It worked out well that we stayed on the outskirts of NYC but had such easy access to the city. As the night went on, there was a great vibe in the area of an exciting nightlife scene. The hotel was safe and we enjoyed ourselves. The pool and the gym were not lacking in quality. The entire hotel was very clean and the bedding was comfortable. There was a variety of people there and it seemed to be an awesome place for young and adventurous guests.
The day before our family was coming into town for a wedding, the area was hit with a storm which caused flooding and power outages throughout the area. The original hotel that was reserved for the wedding block lost power during the storm and was unable to accommodate the guests. The managers between the hotels worked together to transfer the wedding block to the Sheraton. The team at Sheraton was amazing and welcomed all of us. The location was perfect- easy access to highways/airport and downtown area. Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable.
After visiting my grandchildren I booked an early morning flight from Westchester airport, which is an hour from their home. I thought it best to stay at a hotel close to the airport and not disrupt the babies.Hotel had all the amenities except shuttle to the airport. I knew this before I booked because I called the hotel first to confirm. Disappointing that a hotel listed as airport does not have shuttle service.
When looking for a place to relax or a big place to have an event Tarrytown Sheraton is where you want to go. The staff is phenomenal at making sure they are attentive to each guest. And for us busy entrepreneurs it is close enough to the city to drive or ride the Metro. So whether you are looking for a retreat from home as a New Yorker or you are visiting our great state, stay at the Sheraton in Tarrytown I promise you will be glad that you did.Because of COVID the restaurant was not fully open. I look forward to eating there as soon as they are back to full service. Thank you to the staff for a great birthday weekend.
Staff is friendly, but thats the best part about the hotel. The rooms themselves are alright (minus the old stiff carpets yuck), but my experience was janky. The Starbucks downstairs was closed indefinitely (which sucks bc I was there for work and needed my morning coffee). There was a HUGE leak in the bathroom ceiling that couldnt easily be fixed, so they allowed me to switch rooms. However, the new room had its own issues. The heater (when turned on) smelled like burning plastic, and the walls are very thin. You can hear people from multiple rooms over if theyre loud enough, and the doors close very loudly. I think theyre putting people in rooms close together which was why I could hear so much. The view from the hotel is a parking lot (not awesome), but the bright side is that its right next to a supermarket and liquor store.
Arrived and checking with no issues, came up to the room and notice missing blackout curtains/shade on the space above exactly matching the AC size. Ask the front desk to check it out, went out for dinner. Came back from dinner and the front desk told me, the lady that came up said the do not disturb sign was up and she cut not get in, even if I specifically as for them to go in and check it out. Ask for the person to come up again. She came up and told me that the missing blackout curtain/shade was the way it was and nothing could be done. Struggle to sleep during the night due to the lights from outside and the big BASF illuminated sign. Around 1 am, someone outside in the hallway yelling a name and making loud noises, the same around 2AM. No sleep during the night basically. To add insult to injury, when the morning comes I notice a third blackout curtain/shade closest to the window, never notice it at night since the second blind was closed on top of it. The worst part is that the person that came up could of just said, look this is the curtains/shade you need to draw down, instead she just said that nothing could be done. Had breakfast and check out making sure that my second day staying was not going to be charged. Every one at the front desk were apologetic, but no interested in finding some kind of practical solution to apologize for the awful night I spent there.
You can feel that this hotel has not been renovated and it is pretty old. The air condition is super noisy that you can’t have it on. The mattress is not comfy at all, and the noise of the water in pipes can be heard easily.I suggest looking for a better hotel options to stay with the same amount of money you would spend at this hotel.
I stayed one night and it was terribly hot in the room. The AC wouldnt turn on and the gentleman from the front desk tried helping but couldnt do anything about it. There were no other rooms to switch into. I also noticed dirt and hair on one of the beds and just didnt sleep on it. Sheraton, you can do better for the price I paid.
Positive: The staff were great. Checking in was very easy. Plenty of parking. Negative: The room was very dated with heavy dark furniture taking up most of the space. The bathroom had double swing doors that looked like they were from the 1920s. Also, I had a late checkout but housekeeping kept knocking on my door.
Stayed only one night. Hotel is okay.Pros: close to many sightseeing places and next to stop and shop so need to run miles for small little things. Indoor pool. In-house restaurant and Starbucks.Cons: rundown room, strong misty small when first enter room. Not sure but i think there was mold behind wallpaper right at room entrance. My shower faucet was flimsy, I was scared to use it. Bathroom sink had big crack.
Very nice area out of the city. Lots of great stores and restaurants. the hotel is clean quiet and very comfortable. The service is nice and I was taken care of by pleasant front desk clerk at check in. I was very moved by a young gentleman Marcus who keeping things clean around the place and had a great working attitude. If you see him I am sure he will give you a smile and a nice greeting.
Stayed here for 3 nights and underwhelming is an understatement. Customer service was rude. Asking them a question and you feel like youre really putting them out. Ask another question and their response is filled with misinformation. Room was not cleaned well upon arrival (stained floors, hairs from the previous occupant). I came here for peace and quiet, but the walls were so thin I can hear my neighbors heartbeat. Not to mention, this wonderful establishment claims to have a pool. Honestly, it really is a bathtub...1 person and its already overcrowded. Not to mention Im 61 and the depth was 3. Needless to say I passed. Price of the stay was not worth what I paid for. Id say the Starbucks is the main attraction but the staff their was no different than the hotel service. Inflated prices and inflated attitudes. Have a wonderful stay but dont say you were not forewarned.
We stayed with a large group in town for our daughters wedding. The staff could not have been more accommodating not only with us but with all of the people in the wedding party and going above and beyond when we had outside catered food brought in they helped us with transporting with storage with cleanup just perfect. Definitely recommend all around.
The only good thing here were the ladies at the front desk. The room was not cleaned very well, they were always out of towels, and it seemed like a brothel. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything. The pics are what the bathroom looked like when I arrived. Also, the floor was not swept and there was hair in the sink.
Positive: Location Negative: This hotel was horrible. The room was not clean the carpet had stained in room and in hallway. The furniture is outdated and the chair had spots on it. I was move to a different room and the bed on the right side was broke. The food was nasty period
The first room we were given was pretty bad. The heat was on and the room was 87 degrees and couldnt be lowered. The grill of the heating unit was off and there was a coffee bag in the vent. The bathroom was moldy. The lobby was dirty and had things scattered all over the floor (might have been a guests or their child). First impression was very poor. I called down and they offered to send someone up....I said we were grossed out and they changed our room. New room was fine. Clean. Bed a little old. Someone was up with our new keys relatively quickly and he apologized for the inconvenience, but also said the coffee was what they use to air out the room. That was odd.It looked like people were living in the hotel. It was a strange vibe for sure. Regular bottle of Aquafina water was $5....Stop & Shop is next door, buy a case. Our second room was fine. Quiet. The hotel is certainly worn. We had a nice dinner at Ruths Chris, and left early the next morning. Not the getaway we thought it would be.
Although there for a short stay, I thought the amenities were great including the ease of using their gym and obtaining a beverage at Starbucks (located on site). If you forget or need anything, a small shopping center located toward the back of the complex with a supermarket and wine/spirits store. Definitely a nice surprise after returning from diner. Given the convenience and super quite stay, I will definitely recommend this hotel.
Traumatizing stay - Puppy brought to the Emergency RoomWe arrived at the hotel with our 4 months old puppy around 9pm. As we settle in the room, we notice our puppy eating something, we look to see what is lying around, and found GRAPES on the floor! If you are unaware, a grape is the worst thing a dog can eat and can lead to death! We quickly take her to the emergency room where the vet made her vomit the grape. Thank god, she is okay now. We go back to the hotel shaken up and upset. We ask the front desk to move to a clean room and ask to have someone check the floor to make sure it is clean. We go to the new room, check the floors and find a chunk of chocolate chip cookie, which is also very bad for dogs! What a disgusting hotel and incompetent night staff! The next morning, we speak with the hotel manager, who is actually helpful, compassionate and competent. She is able to assure us a full refund for the stay, as well as a refund for the emergency room vet bill through their insurance. We still do not feel comfortable staying at this hotel, so decide to checkout and go to another hotel. In summary, it was a traumatizing stay. Do not bring your dog to this hotel if you want them safe. If you do not have a dog, do you really want to stay at a hotel that does not clean the room carpets in times of a global pandemic?
The only good thing here were the ladies at the front desk. The room was not cleaned very well, they were always out of towels, and it seemed like a brothel. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything. The pics are what the bathroom looked like when I arrived. Also, the floor was not swept and there was hair in the sink.
Out of date old hotel. Walls are pretty thin. Whole bed shakes when an adjacent door closes. Smells a bit. There are signs everywhere that says to wear a mask but my guy the concierge with the glasses didnt get that memo and constantly took his mask down to speak to guests. You know, one of THOSE bright individuals. Shower also barely got hot. Tv features are dated and old.Cleaning staff was helpful and nice. Rooms were generally clean. Starbucks was nice. Nice location. Second night was quieter. Nice wifi.Meh
Marriott Executives needs to do a better job seeing that some places just get old and need a complete renovation! Door handle to room hard to open, literally had to hit it. Peeling chipped paint noted in numerous places,Dim lighting(probably thought this would help the chipping paint). The outside patio tables were filthy and tables in disrepair. Couldnt bring myself to even sit out there. The drains in two of our rooms were clogged and absolutely no water pressure either. The people that worked there were great, Give them something better to work with guys in corporate, please!
This place is extremely outdated. I spoke with someone 4-5 times prior to my stay, all within one week to ensure we got connecting rooms since we were traveling with two adults and 4 kids, and no one told me about the reservation requirement for the pool. The room fridge is not cold. Orange water came out of the shower faucet. And it’s overpriced.
Tried to make a reservation just now, guy named Quincy, he put me on hold and never returned after 10 minutes. I called back and when I asked him if that was him, he said yeah, sorry, was busy. Wow, hotels are losing money and this employee cant take a new reservation. Good job Sheraton hiring only the best. Will find another hotel.
Staff was excellent. Bed wasn’t comfortable for me but my spouse liked it. Pillows need to be firmer. Venue itself was fine. Covid response was appropriate. Only thing I didn’t like was the Bonvoy app. It never recorded my stay and I spent way too much time trying to get it to.
The front desk people are all very nice except for the manager. She is not nice and will prevent me from coming back here again and we spent about a week here. She is just a “penny wise and pound foolish” in my opinion and definitely NOT GOOD for the Sheraton brand. :)
I can’t say enough good things about the Sheraton Tarrytown. Here are some of the attributes that matter to me.It’s conveniently located. Close to White Plains and NJ with easy access to major thoroughfares like I-87, I-287, the Sprain Brook and Saw Mill River Parkways. The rooms and the property are very nice, comfortable and clean. There’s even a Starbucks on the ground floor next to the reception desk.Last, and most importantly, the Management Team and Staff are warm, friendly and hospitable. Also, they are very efficient and effective whether it’s at check-in, or you have a room or billing issue, or a question. Over the last 3 months I have stayed at the Sheraton Tarrytown on 5 separate occasions, one of them being a 9 day vacation. It has become my home away from home. I highly recommend it whether your travel is personal or for business.
We had to go to the desk 4x to get sheets and towels that should have been in the room to begin with. The worst part was, that it was not until my son was injured because they had broken dresser in our room that they came through with the towels and sheets. They tried to make up for my sons injury for their unmaintained furniture with two bottles of water. Their resolution was to remove the dresser, leaving cable wires exposed, which was no safer.
Alarm went off at 5am, couldn’t shut off. We were told by the front office staff there was nothing they could do after fire fighters and police came. We had to leave at 6am with 2 kids under the age of 6. Ruined our night stay, no regard for clients. It was an extremely scary experience to wake up with the fire alarm bursting our ears, rush out with 2 small kids, calm them down and then have to leave… terrible experience. I want a refund…
I’ve been enjoying my stay at the Sheraton and I’ve also told friends and family about this wonderful place. The staff are incredible and Amanda is such a darling. She’s always asking about what can be done to improve my experience at the Sheraton. My number one hotel in westchester.
Dennis Nemchek, our main coordinator for our event, went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly for us and all our guests . We also loved Francesca , our housekeeper and the breakfast attendant who was sweet and patient and super efficient. One suggestion- your notice says breakfast is open till 11 . But it closed at ten every day.
Positive: Location and usually a good experience Negative: Room 314 looks to be a damaged room as the door doesnt close and you have to pull it you can tell that its been busted in before by looking at the lock of the door. They made the bed with all flat sheets , about 5 of them but no comforter . Cold room
We spent 1 night 2/14/21 and oh what a night ! We could hear everyone in the hallway and every time the guests across the hall slammed their door ! We couldn’t get the heat to shut off and it was 80 in the room until we switched over to AC. @ 420 am or so the fire alarm went off!! Many walked down the stairs not knowing not knowing it was a realFire or not . No staff to direct us. Once we opened door the walkways were covered in ice . Many guest fell :( I couldn’t wait to get home and sleep . I guess this location maybe having some issues ad there were police officers there when we returned from dinner !
If you are looking for good service or to be treated like a human, look elsewhere. The staff is apathetic and non-responsive to any concerns. Kind of like self checkin, but with a cold stare. It’s adequate—clean and safe, but dated. If you plan to use any amenities, call in advance to confirm they actually exist. (Not just COVID related items.) If you have other options, give this one a pass.
This hotel was in a great location. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the hotel lobby, check in was quick, the lobby was laid out nice. The pool, and spa were very nice, along with a work out room. The room was on the fourth floor, as I walked in the room there were lights already on for me, and my guest. The room was up to date, and it felt grand. The bed and pillows were cozy, and I slept through the night with zero noise. The bathroom had double doors, and it felt like a spa. The staff were friendly, and asked if I needed assistance. I will definitely be staying here again next fall.
After reading reviews, I was a bit skeptical , but booked my stay anyways. When I arrived, the front desk staff was courteous, professional and very friendly. My room was well stocked, decent, and clean. The restaurant staff was very friendly and eager to serve even with it being buffet. Overall, I was very happy with my stay and will definately return ,and refer to family and friends. I gave it 4 stars because there were some minor repairs needed in the room, but nothing serious enough to complain about.
The Sheraton used to be a upscale hotel, I was a resident of Westchester for over 20 years and worked in the county for over 35 years in the utility field. The hotel needs an upgrade and during planning stages the management needs to have the staff clean the place up and start by vacuuming the hallway rugs twice a day. Also the stains on the chairs and the rug in the rooms are disgusting, i dont need to be explicit you get the picture. On a serious note: the management team needs to hire a EXTERMINATOR, YES THATS RIGHT PEOPLE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES LODGING IN THE BUILDING.WOULDNT RECOMMEND TO MY FRIENDS OR FAMILY EXCEPT FOR FOR EMERGENCY ACCOMMODATIONS!!🐀
This hotel is amazing. The staff is very attentive and caring. They remember you even though there were a ton of people coming and going each day. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. The food at the Toasted Barrel was amazing. Best French Onion Soup ever!!! There are charging ports in the side of the night stands which makes charging our electronics very simple and easy. This was a very wonderful amenity.
No hot water ( Luke warm is being gracious ) but I had to shower. Brown spots on my bed skirt ( and being told I can change rooms at 8pm after a day of travel was not an option or the rude front desk clerk coming to look at it does no good). They should have offered to change it, even if I had to do it myself. Amanda ( I think is the name of the front desk Manager) was great at listening to my complaints and trying to offer something to make up for what was a bad stay.
The room was filthy. The bathroom was clearly not cleaned. The sink had a brown residue on it. The toilet had pee all over it, The shower had brown spots and hairs all over the tub. The sheets on the bed were not changed as they were soiled. There were crumbs and other debris on the floor. I can continue as there was a long list.
The staff is wonderful but the hotel is old and rundown. The carpeting and wall paper needs to be replaced at the very least. The hotel needs a renovation badly. Heres a pic of the wallpaper in my bathroom. They are dog friendly which is a plus and centrally located on the Tarrytown/Elmsford border close to all major expressways.
The Sheraton Tarrytown Hotel was very accommodating, even for one night. Had a very last-minute later evening (almost-midnight) arrival. Staff from check-in to check-out was very calm and professional during the ongoing pandemic. The rooms were spot-on clean, no noticeable negatives to the touch. Whatever you’re in the area for, stay at this Sheraton — I highly recommend it!
I stayed with my husband for 3 nights....May 14 through the 17th we were given 1 towels each, for the entire stay and we didnt have any bath mat. We asked the maid and we had to go downstairs to get one ourselves. There was a long crack in the shower going down the entire wall that was full of mold and rust. The toilet continued to run so you have to get up and jiggle the handle and the safe didnt work so we werent able to secure our valuables...Im not a complainer so I didnt say anything. But the last straw was when I fell in front of the 4th floor elevator and smashed my head on the molding of the elevator door I hurt my knee and my toe but the giant painful bump on my forehead was unbelievable...all I was trying to do was push the elevator buttons as the doors were closing on my husband. We were going down to check out and my husband told the front desk my mishap which was obvious and I was only asked if I wanted an ice pack...no accident report...I just stood there and cried and I couldnt get out of there fast enough!
We had requested a feather free room for our 14 year anniversary do to allergies but after it was confirmed online, there were still down pillows and comforters in the room when we arrived. Not being able to sleep we had them changed, the staff were accommodating and polite but when we returned to the hotel the following night, they were replaced again with the feathered option.Really poor communication between the staff that can be life threatening. This is not a hypoallergenic option according to the manager but it comes up as one on google. We ended up leaving and getting our last few days credited. I will say the staff in the Kitchen/Bar were excellent and the food was good but we wont ever take the risk and go back.
Rooms are nice and spacious. Staff is pleasant and accommodating. The lobby has recently been renovated and includes a full Starbucks which is awesome! They recently upgraded their mattresses and these are gigantic, almost need a step stool to get into the bed. That being said the mattress was super comfortable firm but yet the pillow top hugs you to sleep.
When people go out of their way to accommodate you, you know youre in the right place. Amanda at the front desk is an amazing employee. Id also like to give a shout out to the engineer, and Quincy. My last stay, unfortunately I cant remember the name of the person who registered us, but she was also very caring. We checked in on the 19th of March 2021.
My review of the Sheraton is not just based on the hotel but with one hotel manager in particular. Dennis Nemcheck at the Sheraton Tarrytown was so pleasant, professional and had answers to any questions I had in regards to blocking rooms/suites for an event and use of the hotel facilities. I so appreciated his calm assurance during the difficult times of COVID when we were not sure of timelines and just how things would look in general. A manager like Dennis is an absolute asset at your hotel. He answered emails and phone calls either immediately or in such a timely manner that I never had to wonder if any messages were received and for that I am so grateful. Trish McCabe, New York
I had an amazing stay at the Sheraton! I was greeted by your manager Melissa, who has a great personality! The hotel was clean and the rooms were a good size. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and their evening drinks. Your bartender Braily delivered great customer service. I will definitely be back. Two thumbs up to the staff and management.
My stay here was excellent! Very well kept and nostalgic architecture. Whomever did the interior decorating is amazing. Not your ordinary vanilla plain hotel. Furniture was very well placed in the room and customer service was excellent. Nice place to stay if youre on business. First class service without breaking the bank.
Hands down the best staff Ive ever encountered including higher end luxury hotels! Eduardo at the front desk set the bar to a new level for service! The hotel was very well maintained with a refined look of old and new melded into a unique ambiance.Thank you Eduardo and all the great staff at Sheraton Tarrytown Hotel... you all get a 5 star rating from me!
This was the worst Sheraton Ive ever stayed at. The brand should be embarrassed that this property is open. The lights in my bathroom were malfunctioning. To fix it, the maintenance team simply removed the flickering light bulb. I asked 2x for someone to replace the light bulb, and no one ever did. It was extremely dark in the bathroom the duration of my 3-night stay. The doors to the bathroom did not properly shut. Lastly, on the 2nd day one of the trash cans in the room mysteriously disappeared after cleaning, which was quite inconvenient. The whole property felt very dated. The experience will cause me to hesitant before staying at a Sheraton in the future. The experience from one property to another is just so inconsistent. I had a lovely stay at Sheraton Cascais in May. This Sheraton Tarrytown, meanwhile, lacked even the basic amenities like properly functioning bathroom lights and doors. Should have stayed at one of the competitors value brands down the street -- probably would have been a better experience!
I would like to give a great big thank you to Dennis Sales Manager, he is one of a kind, extremely professional, friendly and very caring. He went above and beyond and made the most special day of my life perfect! My time spent at the Sheraton in yonkers has always been pleasant. This is the place to be, its clean and great staff that are friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend it and I will continue to book my stays there when im in town. Love this place!
It took me a while to write this review but i had to come back and do it. all of the staff members are incredibly warm and just simply amazing. They are attentive and responsive. from the moment we checked in to the rooms to the check out everything was outstanding. Lou, Andrew, Orlando and Steve were just the quality of service one expects at a Sheraton i know that personally. as we were waiting for our car rental they opened the bar and kitchen so we could grab a bite and a drink even though they werent technically open yet. we felt like we were home. Thank you guys we will definitely come back
The most terrible experience in my life in a hotel! 😔 We had bed bugs in our room that bit me all over, and had an allergic reaction to it. They had swaped our room to a different one at 3AM, and the new room had bed bugs also, and on top of it, dirty sheets (blood stains), and dirty comforter. My husband and I left the hotel in the middle of the night because we were grossed out and afraid to sleep in the hotel due to the bed bugs situation. They wanted us to pay full price after we showed them pictures of what happened, amd both my arms bitten by bad bugs, and we had to ask for a discount. No manager contacted us about the situation, even if we were told they will. Please, stay away from this hotel, especially if you have children! Very unsanitary!!! 😷😔😔😔
Great location near major highways and easy to find. Close to Sleepy Hollow attractions. Room was nice, no complaints. One of the elevators was out of service and the other one sounded like it was going to break at any moment. Food in the restaurant for dinner was very good and our waitress was awesome. The restaurant could use a wall between it and the lobby. The lobby could use some updating. Our room was on the club floor which came with free breakfast and appetizers before dinner time. Both good. Only major complaint was a wedding party at night that was being overly loud in the hallway from about 1 til 4am and none came up after a complaint was called down.
Sheraton has truly astounded me within my most recent stay. I was celebrating my Engagement and they pulled out all the stops to help make the occasion memorable. Thet decorated the bed with rose pedals and delivered the Edible Arrangements I brought her to the room as well AND even left the AC on prior to arrival. Room Service breakfast was on time the next morning and delicious I must add. Sheratons Restaurant has some of the best cuisine in town and ranks amongst the best for hotels in the area. Cant wait to stay again.
The minute I walked in I was greeted by the from the front desk team. The check in was smooth and fast. The room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. I slept like a baby on that bed. I requested some extra towels and recieved them with a smile by your housekeeping staff. This will be my hotel forever.
Understand under new ownership:staff is very good and enjoy them each time. The facility is getting tired and run down. For the money not a good deal. ex free coffee in lobby now gone. wall paper peeling in BR and elsewhere, Table top in elevator area is insulting to Sheraton and guests on floor 2, toilet seat loose, (Not funny!), Main entrance way dirty, door to room difficult to open with card key,Felt we should be credited against the bill because in our room it sounded like we were part of the graduation part being held. Most of aft and later.wife could not nap and the US Open was NOT carriedon TV. BUMMER! Menu in elevator and in restaurant did not match. Noticed one elevator of 2 could not go to 6th floor.Sammy in the bar is a class act. Works the crowd like a maestro. Wonderful.Counterr staff VG. Gentleman who greets?drives in the morning is a Gentleman! Real asset.Too bad for us that despite the pluses this Sheraton needs real help in the facilities side of things.
My family stayed at this hotel for a weekend as we are from out of state. We each booked separate reservations and each had a problem. One room had a shower that did not work, one room had a clogged sink, two of the reservations were for the wrong rooms. The list goes on. Each of us complained to the front desk several times and no resolution other than an Im sorry for the inconvenience and We will send maintenance to check on it. Maintenance told the font desk they fixed the issue, but the shower was still broken and the sink was still clogged upon check out. The hotel was full and we could not switch rooms. A member of our party ended their stay a night early. After filling out a survey at the end of our stay we were followed up with an email from the Assistant General Manager who said this was a teachable moment and the feedback would be going to the appropriate hotel team. We will not be coming back to this hotel for our next stay and will not recommend this hotel to future guests.
When I arrived around 4 p.m. my suite isnt ready. I have used SNA and it was preapproved with a welcome email. The check-in staff were very helpful and friendly and managed to work it out after 10-15 minutes with another suite, excellent. Went to the room all excited, and then found out the bathroom smells like urine, and sofa has stains on it. Decided not to complain because Im really too tire to wait for another suite and its nothing an air freshener couldnt fix. Breakfast lounge was underwhelming with only 2 selections of minimal quantity meaning the lounge attendant needs to frequently refill the hot food, and if theres a morning rush one has to wait. Gym is small but adequate for a quick workout, swimming pool is not deep enough to really swim, but good for family to have a fun time in the water. Location is excellent as you can connect to a few major highways or take a back road to the historical towns easily. Restaurant food is pretty good. The only true complain is day to day house-keeping. The three days I was there they are very inconsistent, failure to cleanup all the trash, failed to restock toilet paper when one roll was used up, failed to restock bath towels. Guess I should of gone with the Make-A-Green Choice...Overall, great staff, bad room cleaning, average all around experience.
This hotel has gone down significantly in quality in the last three or so years. I stayed here twice in 2016 and 2017, and I loved it, but when I returned in April 2019 I was very disappointed. Its suddenly a very different and inferior hotel. They re-did the lobby in a much less charming style, eliminating the lovely fireplace that had been there and making the entry area very blah and sterile.I dont normally leave negative reviews for places, but on this occasion the negatives piled up, so I feel obliged to list them. On the Saturday of our recent stay the restaurant was mysteriously closed during lunchtime even though the posted sign said it was open every day. No explanation posted--just a Section Closed sign right next to the sign saying lunch was supposed to be from 11 to 2. When we did use the restaurant for breakfast earlier that day, the quality of the breakfast was vastly inferior to what it had been in prior years -- in prior years the buffet had been quite tasty and varied but now it was bland. Then there was the hotels general quality of service: my advance request for a feather-free room was ignored, as was my request for a crib for my toddler (a request I made at the time of the reservation and then called again a few days in advance of the stay to confirm, but still no crib). The staff are not particularly welcoming and act as though you are disrupting their day if you ask for anything (even if its something you reserved in advance). For example, we had a room with a fold-out sofa bed that I planned for my five-year-old son to sleep on. There was no blanket in the room so I called to ask for one -- and they told me they had none, and just offered us a couple of extra sheets instead of a blanket or comforter. How does a hotel not have enough blankets and comforters for all of its beds, especially when they advertise on the website that the room has a fold-out bed?I want this review to be fair, so I will note the positive points. The indoor swimming pool is clean and well maintained, and the guest rooms are clean and tidy. We stayed in a corner room and the spaciousness and natural sunlight were very nice. But overall this was a very disappointing stay compared to our past experiences with this hotel and we are unlikely to stay here again.
No idea how this place has such a high rating - it doesnt deserve it. The room was clean enough, but there was problem after problem with our stay.First, the room was humid beyond belief and the AC never really cooled it off. Also, the TV kept going out. I put in a call to management but they werent helpful at all. Housekeeping also failed to re-stock towels when cleaning my room and I didnt realize until I needed to shower. Luckily, we were able to catch someone in the hall to provide a towel. These things were annoying, but not necessarily deserving of a two-star review. The two star review is based on the incompetence we experienced during our stay. Someone in our party was given a room that was ALREADY OCCUPIED BY SOMEONE ELSE. One thing you dont expect to see when you check into your hotel room is someone elses belongings. Aside from that, multiple people in our party were charged using the incorrect payment method and nobody can seem to figure out a remedy to fix it.Headache after headache. Not worth what we paid.
Aging but nicely appointed Sheraton. The hotel has a Starbucks and a nice in-house restaurant. Conveniently located next to a grocery store and liquor store. Located in an office park off a busy road, so not much in the way of views, but centrally located a short drive away from many sights and amenities. Reasonably priced suites with French doors to the main bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room - useful for a little parent privacy while traveling with young children.
First impressions, nice lobby and staff. Hallways clean, pool has too much chlorine, but its understandable especially now with the pandemic going on so if you dont mimd the smell its a plus. Now, when it comes to our room, specifically room 405. As soon as we came in it smelled like cigarette smoke, very strong too. The whole room smelled like smoke but it was the strongest in the bathroom, specifically the outer shower curtain (dry side). Im not sure if someone smokes in there because there is a vent there and no fire alarm, but thats what it smells like and looks like. I took a picture of smoke-like stained ceiling in the shower around the area where the vent is on the wall. We just stayed for one night and needed to sleep so didnt ask for a different room or nothing. I did bring it up to the girl at the front desk, and she was apologetic and promised that shell look into it. I told her it wasnt a big deal but someone else might make it a big deal in the future so its definitely something they need to keep an eye on. Based on the hospitality the staff showed me there, Im sure they wouldve given me a different room if I asked for it. Room deserves 3 stars, because everything else was very clean, but because of the friendliness of the staff I am giving it an overall 4-star review. I just hope they put a stop to people smoking in the bathroom.
Last year after our wedding we stayed in a suite here and had a memorable evening. This year we wanted to relive our wedding night by staying here for our 1st anniversary. I mentioned to starwood that we were going for our anniversary, and when we arrived to our hotel room, Andrew from the front desk had arranged an assortment of cut fruit and champagne in ice, which made our romantic evening even more special. We got to go for a private swim, since the pool is opened till 11pm, and really enjoyed our stay. The room is comfortable, bathroom is clean. The front desk staff were very nice and hospitable. I would highly recommend staying here.
This was a very beautiful and very spacious room the bed was so tall and fluffy I felt like a queen! It was a very clean place and I will stay again when in the area. The only reason I would not give it 5 stars is because there was poor customer service at the front desk. The man was not very friendly and I was alone and he did not offer to get anyone to help me with my several bags. Watched me struggle with the luggage cart! I dont think that anyone was available to help me. When I stay in a nice place like this I do expect better service and especially when you are paying a higher price for a nicer room.
The Sheraton made immediate accommodations for my son and I on such short notice because the prior hotel we booked was overbooked. In addition, the Front Desk Manager worked out an amazing rate for the second night stay. I was greeted with enthusiasm from staff, a very clean room and good food and drinks.
Elevator was too small it literally could fit about 5 people comfortably without luggages, the other one was out of service, also same elevator was being used by service staff. I felt so bad for the housekeeper trying to fit her cleaning cart in the tiny elevator and was also annoyed because once the housekeeper made it in the elevator there was no room for any other people to get on and the wait for the elevator was extremely slow. My dinning experience was horrible, the hot food items on the buffet were cold and in desperate need to be replenished, when I asked server for fresh eggs, it came out so runny that I couldnt even eat it. It was not worth $19.99 at all.
The hotel staff are super friendly at check in and very attentive. The rooms are spacious and clean. I had an issue with ,y drapes and they took care of the problem right away. They even called me to make sure it was taken care of! Amazing customer service. I will will be back.
My family and I recently had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton, Tarrytown, NY. We were greeted at the door by Shaun who made us feel very comfortable and welcome from the very beginning. Leslie, who checked us in, was very friendly as well. Our room was extremely spacious and clean and the club lounge was great for relaxing. Although we did not use the pool, it seemed very clean and well kept. The only thing that could be improved is the maintenance of the fitness room. For the week, each morning we used the treadmills and other machines in the room. It was very rare to find towels and some towels were left on the floor from the night before. It would be nice to have staff check the room each day to be sure that it is stocked with clean towels and things are not left disorganized. Other than that, our stay at the Sheraton was fantastic!!!
Value varies as the price varies widely, so sometimes its a good value but sometimes not so much. The rooms are nice and comfortable but the restaurant/lobby could use some love as its not cozy or comfortable. The club lounge is awkward. The elevator is right there so you are sitting in front of the elevator, so its awkward to chill out there. But not that big a deal. The rooms on club level were comfortable and cozy.
Received a very warm welcome upon our arrival for one evening by Psalms. He got us checked in quickly and right into our room. The room was nice and clean, the beds had wonderful white linens with plenty of feather pillows! Sleep quality was good. The bonus is the full Starbucks off of the lobby!
Deandre I hope is her name & forgive me if its not, she was ABSOLUTELY amazing & made My Mothers Day & our 7yr Anniversary even better. Great Club Room, very clean & spacious, our 4yr enjoyed herself in the heated pool. Some Guest NOT so friendly at all, guess they felt we didnt belong in a club room or to be on the club room floor but thats the world we live in these days. Overall beautiful stay.
The hotel space is nice, albeit a little small. The club lounge is very small and the breakfast and snacks there were so-so. The staff was generally friendly, but slow. We requested a mini fridge, which they said they would send up, but never did. I also inquired about late checkout, and they said they would check and call me back, but never did. The pool and the hot tub were not bad, and the rooms were pretty clean with cozy decor, although there was part of the wallpaper peeling near the ceiling in our room. Pricing was reasonable, and there is a shuttle to bring you around town with a very nice driver named Sean / Shawn.
Had a pretty good experience with them and we’ve been there a couple of times. Both times we couldn’t get into the room with the card key they gave us but then they upgrade us for free to the clubhouse suite. Over all, we didn’t have a bad experience there. Everyone was courteous and professional and strived to please us while we were there. The rooms were always clean and there were plenty of washcloths and towels. We ordered food and had it delivered there with out any hassle. It met our expectations for when we need to go to this part of town. We go here every time we’re in town now.
My family just stayed at this Sheraton using our points for two nights and we are very disappointed by the service and condition of the hotel. We would have rather paid for a room at a at a different hotel. We have been members of Starwood for almost 10 years and this hotel is definitely not SPG standards. We did not mind that the hotel was being renovated and the construction did not bother us. However, club service during breakfast time is the reason why I am writing this review. The lady working at the club floor lounge was not welcoming at all, rather gave us unpleasant looks. I asked her if she had any other selection of cereal for my kids and she replied with I have nothing!. The day before, my son enjoyed the The Chex and so I asked her again for Chex and she replied with a simple nope!. Never said hello or goodbye but was at one time whispering to another employee while looking at us. My kids were not loud or rowdy. The Sheraton in NYC is 200% better. The food and drink selection was not worth the extra points. The condition of the room is very old and definitely needs the renovation. I hope service will be better, too. We felt as though people at the hotel were not happy to be working there.
The hotel room is amazing and I have nothing to complain about it and their gym is just awesome! They also have a pool and a spa pool which are not pretty and it seems unfinished, but they work fine. Plus, they have a Starbucks in the hotel, which is very convenient and it is also so cozy, but you cant order by Starbucks app.
For a Sheraton, were so disappointed. Hotel in a great area but upkeep and rooms not in the best condition ex. stained carpet, dirty shower curtains, hairs from previous guests, broken shower handle, trash left in trash cans, smell of weed in the halls, guests half dressed in common areas, etc. Oh, there was also a fire alarm and hotel evacuation thanks to the smokers. Trash and debris all over the grounds, guest next door with t.v. blasting all night, and yes, theres a Starbucks because COVID19 has shut everything down in the hotel too so, no pool, gym or room service. Must ask for new towels and linens.
Location: Perfect distance to the hackle school.Food: Breakfast was great from the downstairs restaurant. Starbucks brew in the room was also very good.Cleanliness: This hotel itself was only somewhat clean. The first room assigned had a odor to it; the next room was cleaner but the trash wasnt emptied upon arrival. The blow dryer in the bathroom was gross and peeling. However, house keeping cleaned the room very well. It was spotless each day after they were finished.Other: The pool was disgusting with feces floating in it and a hot tub that had no water in it. The bathroom has no shower curtain only glass sliding doors. Therefore only one person can use it at a time.
I stayed here with a wedding party and our experience was nice. We got a slight discount on the rooms since we were part of the wedding. The bar and staff was very accommodating for our after party in the lobby/bar area. They serve Starbucks in the lobby as well which is a nice touch. I sometimes carpool with people and we meet in the parking lot of the adjacent Stop and Shop and its nice to run in a grab a coffee while Im waiting. I would stay again next time I need a place in Tarrytown.
Tons of potential, but man this was a rough stay. This hotel is trying so hard to be a five star resort, but just can’t quite figure it out. The rooms are gorgeous on the surface, but are actually cheap and grody if you spend any time in them. Walls are paper thin (you can hear every conversation your neighbors are having). Construction dust and debris is everywhere. Basic amenities you’d expect at a hotel in this price range are absent, and management is nonexistent. Food is extremely overpriced ($19 per person continental buffet), and the staff is a mixed bag with a few great caring workers among a gaggle of guys that will literally sit in the lobby drinking on the phone between guests. It’s like a truck stop motel was painted over to look like a resort overnight, and no one told the employees the change happened. Maybe next year, when the construction is done and the staff is trained or replaced, it may be better.
Ive stayed here as much as any other hotel just outside the City. The service is not only exceptional, but the most consistent of any property I visit. Clearly, this is a mandate from top down and it shows. The hotel is modern, very clean, has a super comfortable lobby and lounge area, and the coziest Club lounge Ive been to. The fitness room is small, but provides more than you need for a great workout. The rooms are very spacious, well appointed, always a clean bath robe and complimentary bottled water. Internet is fast and the desk is enormous.I always receive an upgrade, choice of amenities and free parking is offered to everyone. The ride is a beautifully scenic short 30 minutes outside of Manhattan.Highly recommend this property.
One elevator do not work, its a waste of time going in or out from your room. There is any breakfast grab and go neither coffee. The rooms are old and ugly. The worse at all is the bathroom, I found hair on the countertop of the sink and stains on the shower. Im a Pilot and have been in hotels for a while... Do not recomend it.
Got this hotel as an emergency replacement, when problems occurred at a sister hotel. Good-sized room. Comfy pillows. The desk staff went out of their way to assist with the travel accommodation, printing out the schedules, fares, and advising on the best routes. The bathroom was only marginally clean, thus the 4 stars instead of five.
The room is clean and front staff was very nice. But there was a staff talking loud on the phone at midnight near my room and it woke me up. The phonecall lasted for over 10 minutes so I had to wake up and ask him to be quiet. Also, my contact lense case went missing when I came back to the hotel. Maybe its discarded by the cleaning staff.
Always a pleasure staying at the Sheraton Tarrytown. The staff really makes this property a wonderful experience. I frequent often for work and Im always greeted with a smile and feel valued as an Ambassador member. The full service Starbucks has been a great addition. What keeps me coming back apart from the service is the great location with a Stop & Shop within walking distance and easy access to the Expressways down the street. Ive stayed at a lot of hotels in the area down into the city and I highly recommend the property.
Bathroom in 1st room leaking from room above. Had to move. New room was fine but light over bed was not working, Horrible that rooms do not have drawers just a couple of cubby holes for three people. Bathroom doors should be solid not frosted glass so it does not wake up folks during night. The green pulsating light on the smoke detector made it hard to go to sleep. Not all phone buttons were working. Club level area for breakfast was horribly laid out and too small. Also people treated it like their own personal living space - walking around disheveled and barefoot. One guy actually was putting his barefeet on the coffee table where others could put their dishes. Hotel should monitor the behavior of their guests as it was really disgusting. Jennifer at the front desk was real nice - she was very accommodating. I expect a lot more from Sheraton.
The room we reserved was not ready when we arrived, but the staff were very accommodating and set us up with another room on the Sheraton Club level. This meant we had access to the Club lounge with a complimentary breakfast and beverages. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, and we were very comfortable during our stay.
You need to be aware if you are elderly or under 52 or have any issues with lifting yourself up you will not be able to get in bed ! Beds are so high off the ground I even had trouble and I am fit! Just short! Staff very nice. However bathroom is dated big crack in the wall in tub they need to do some maintenance cant tell if furniture is old or just ment to look old rooms very dark , walls are brown! And sound travels! You can hear the people all around you!
We have stayed here several times and the property has not been kept up! The room we had was disgusting. Completely pink shower curtain from mold! Ripped couch, dusty surfaces, no free water for SPG guest, and the bed gave my husband and I both severe back pain. 2 of 4 nights our rom was not made up, despite our leaving the property for a minimum of 10 hours per day. The staff is completely unresponsive and simply didn’t care. I do not recommend this property; it was truly disgusting.
Are stay started out a little bumpy with check in because all guest for wedding arrived at the same time but definitely made up for it with are room and service. Staff was pleasant and very accommodating. Lounge stayed open when we returned from are wedding to accommodate us and we had shuttle service to and from the wedding. The brunch that they served us the next day was excellent, beautifully presented and excellent variety. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Beds are super comfortable. The restaurant had decent food but service is not good and process are high for what you get ($13 for a bowl of clam chowder.) They frequently dont have food thats still on the menu. Waited 45 minutes for a steak and the restaurant was nearly empty. Steak read badly overcooked and the waitress begged me to eat it anyway.
I stayed at this hotel on March 10, 2017 and my stay itself was satisfactory. The front desk staff was awesome and put out a Guest of the Day sign recognizing me as this trip was a birthday celebration. They were also able to accommodate our early check in and sent up a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The waitress in the restaurant was amazing as well and the food was good. However, those are the only good things I can stay about the hotel. After returning home, I noticed I left a small toiletry bag in the room. I called the hotel to see if the bag could be mailed back to me and they took down my name and telephone number and I was promised a return call. I called on three separated occasions and I still have yet to receive a call back to see if my bag has been located. While I realize leaving the bag was my own mistake and the contents can be replaced, its a huge inconvenience to have to deal with. I am also highly annoyed that no one ever bothered to call me back to give me an update.
Greeted by name and treated like the loyal SPG (now Marriott) member Ive been for years. Hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate my needs. Hotel is centrally located, has ample parking, is clean and modern, and has a very welcoming Club floor. Highly recommended
The stay was great the hotel has done some upgrades and remodeling in the lobby area as well in the rooms. The hotel now offers a full service Starbucks as well, other amenities are free WiFi & shuttle service which is great if you have to get Tarry Town or the train station. The restaurant inside the Sheraton has a bar and room service which is a plus for food when traveling all day. Overall I had Great Stay
First, let me say, the rooms leave a lot to be desired. Ranging from over used to very uncomfortable mattresses; doors not closing properly and requiring extra assistance to close; stained carpet, curtains and chairs; and last but not least inoperable faucets and fixtures in the bathroom. What makes my stay on almost occasions are a few ladies and one gentlemen on the staff. At the front Desk Amanda, Quincy and Favi... I am sure I am spelling here name wrong, but they are great! In the restuarant Yndira and Grace are two phenomenal ladies. It does not matter how bad my day has been, they are so personable have such uplifting personalities. They can always make you smile. These two ladies are wonderful!
I am deeply saddened by the staff of this hotel it was my first time staying here as a Gold Elite member. The staff was preoccupied I tried several times to reach the desk to no avail no one answer. Also the bathrooms are in much need of a remodel it looks like something out of the 19 century. I must say the bed was extremely comfortable that was the only plus about the room. My air-conditioning vent keep falling apart.
I had an amazing stay at the Sheraton and appreciated the staff for helping me with an issue I had with my Car! Your managers went above and beyond to assist me with my car not turning on! That shows great customer service and that they care about their guests! My kids enjoyed the pool and I loved the hot tub.
Staff is very accommodating and friendly, but the hotel is underwhelming overall. The lobby desperately needs a rennovation (the front desk is basically 2 podiums with fold out tables behind them), the 2 elevators are small and ridiculously slow, and the hallways feel rundown a bit. Other than that, the room was comfortable enough and the lobby bar was probably the most updated area overall.
I really enjoyed my stay here. I got the included breakfast which was pretty delicious. They have fruit infused ice water and hot apple cider complimentary in the lobby, which was a rally nice touch. The pool and hoot tub were clean and there were towels available. The room was simple but had everything I needed.
Arrived..other guest walking without masks, carrying bottles of beer. Nobody enforcing masks be warn. Checked in room was dirty. Sticky black marks on floor, food crumbs, dusty, human and animal hair all over night table, desk, beds. Room not exceptable especially with covid cleaning rules. Room was not cleaned. Transferred to another room. Cleaner but phone does not work. The convenience store had a few candybars, soda..not stocked. Bar, restaurant closed. There is a Starbucks onsite but closes early.Pool open by reservation 1 hour time slots. Pool closes at 6.
The staffs were friendly and helpful. The room clean and the comfortable bed with the soft pillows that we very pleased to stayed there for 6 days last month. I really appreciate for returning my purse with complete everything of my personal stuff inside of it , when I forgot it on the table outside front of the hotel. Thank you for honestly of the staffs, thank you for smiling when seeing customer coming..! That made me who is living in LA California love Tarrytown New York!!
We booked a family trip for 2 nights. Arrived at 10pm and went straight to our room. After putting the kids to sleep my wife and I noticed that our pillows were soaking wet. We questioned if the kids were playing with water and just threw the pillows aside and went to sleep. About 2 hours later at 2am Im woken up with water pouring on my head - literally. Clearly there was a leak from above. I went downstairs and spoke with the manager who said Oh we knew there was a leak but not sure where it was. Well Mr. Manager, I just told you where it was. He proceeded to fumble his words and said Im not a plumber, I cant help you. No offering of a different room, never did he offer a cot or replacement pillows, not even an attempt to send someone to look at it. I was nothing but polite to this guy, never escalated my voice and was very understanding that this wasnt his fault, but he couldnt give any sort of console other than a free breakfast, youre at this position to do more than just play on your phone and shoo people away with your free breakfast tickets. The following morning I spoke with another manager that was able to move us to another room. Wow, service! They said they would give us a credit for this horrible stay and later said that the credit would only show upon checkout. That mustve been an excuse to get me to leave before doing less than what was promised because I got an email the next day saying that Im getting a $50 credit, meanwhile it was about $150 for the night. I called and asked where this $50 figure even came from and they said thats all they were willing to do. Way to go owning up to your promises Sheraton.I admit the leak was not their fault but the manor in which this issue was received was absolutely horrible. So let me review the rest of the place. The lobby is nice but usually overcrowded and noisy. The dining area is located a couple of feet from the lobby with some fake trees to separate the areas. So you could imagine its also noisy and this continental breakfast was not worth the $20/pp charge - at least mine was free although, Id rather have paid and gone elsewhere. From the elevator to the halls you can see and smell the 1980s. Ice machines out of order, random leaks in the halls with drying fans making noise and extension cords leaving potential tripping hazards everywhere. Great management! This was all foreshadowing for what the rooms look and feel like. The awful moldy smell, the shades didnt work, the fridge which kept your beverages at slightly lower than room temperature, the shower handles, faucets and spouts barely kept on with silicone and look like theyre about to fall off, again, old wallpaper peeling at the seams, carpet stains - gross. The beds were good, Sheraton typically does a good job there, when water isnt falling from the ceiling onto our pillows and heads.Im sorry to have to go out of my way for this review, typically thats not like me but Sheraton - youve earned it! Thanks for a memorable stay.
After 250+ nights in Marriott / SPG hotels, I would say that Tarrytown stay was my poorest experience by far. I am not sure where i should start exactly. So in a nutshell...1) After check in, I arrived to my room and somebody was already there using bathroom. So i went back to reception and staff gave me another room which was also occupied. Third attempt was finally successful and a room was mine.2) Unfortunately no towels were there. So I called guest service (twice) and requested towels. Towels were promised but nobody showed up. So I gave up and used those tiny towels.3) Shuttle service should be available. So i tried to order a shuttle for next day, but i have been told that driver will show up after 11.00 am and i should call taxi instead.4) After 11.00 pm staff showed up in front of my room claiming that they do some kind of check. They did not even explain what check and walked away. Unfortunately they woke my wife who did not feel good that evening.I have a few other things but they are not worth mentioning. Overall staff was acting indifferently all the time, which was very frustrating. I cannot recommend this hotel for all these reasons.
The location of the hotel was good. There was a Stop and Shop as well as a liquor store available just a short walk though a parking lot. The hotel was clean, the room was a decent size, and bath towels were fluffy. The toiletries was included shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, mouth wash, moisturizer, shaving gel, cotton balls, q tips, nail file, and a little shower poof. A negative was the unsatisfactory water pressure in the shower. Pouring a bottle of water on my head would have rinsed my shampoo out better. Also, there was no fan in the shower. I found this odd since there is no way other to get the steam out of the bathroom. The only other true negative part of the hotel is the lack of additional elevators. There are only two, so if you need to be anywhere quickly figure out where the stairs are.
Not up to Sheraton standards. When we first arrived we were given a room. But when we entered the room, it was already occupied. What a shock for all parties. Had to drag all our stuff back down to the desk. We were assigned another room on a higher floor. The desk person apologized but nothing more. When in the new room, tried to close the shade, but the chain was jammed. Called front desk and someone did come fairly quickly to fix it. The room was nice and the bed comfy. The walls are very thin and could hear kids yelling and running around. The next day we went out for several hours. When we returned to our room, the keys were disabled and we couldnt get in. Another trip down the elevator to the front desk. Again just an apology and our keys were reactivated. Back to our room and it hadnt been cleaned yet. We waited until 3:00 and still had no service. We ended up just getting clean towels ourselves. The combination of these issues detracted from our weekend getaway.
The staff was friendly and courteous in accommodating our large group. I enjoyed how easy it was to get to the train station to go into New York City. The pool is small but the spa was a treat. The bed was so comfortable and the hotel was very quiet - I never heard anyone else. My only complaints were that the elevators were so slow in arriving and i would recommend that coffee be served in the lobby on the weekends. It was too bad that breakfast was not included with the room but we found a wonderful diner just down the road.
Our check-in and welcome experience was basically positive, and warmly Matt. The room itself and the quality of sleep were both good, until being woken up roughly by shouting cleaning staff early in the morning, after flying in from overseas. After a very pleasant breakfast, with excellent service, the graciousness of a late checkout bequeathed,The cleaning staff yet again continued on their track but knocking roughly on the door more than once over the course of 2 hours despite clearly being told (in two languages) that we had late checkout. So no catching up on sleep was being allowed by these folks who, one would imagine at a hotel of this stature, would have been told we had late checkout. Similarly, one would also imagine that a hotel like this wouldnt abide shouting between rooms by two maids having a conversation loud enough to wake the dead, and at 830am. The disparity between the hospitality of the rest of the staff, and the behavior of this department is startling even now.
I had a great experience when I stayed at the Sheraton in TarryTown, although the hotel look pretty full and busy the front desk staff was very fast and efficient. When I called down later that evening and made a requested for more towels and toiletries they were taken up right away. Excellent customer service and hospitality.
Coming from France I stayed here for a business trip. I have to say that I have been disappointed since I expected a better level of performance of a Sheraton hotel. Worst experience has been hairs in bed so I had to ask for linen change but is absolutely unacceptable. The room decoration is pretty sad, all is brown and grey, carpet could be changed as it is a bit worn out ... Bathroom is ok. Staff is courteous, but nothing more to mention . I probably will never come back to this hotel as others are able to offer more for the same price.
I liked the showers (adjustable water volume/flow), good beds, nice linen and great gym. The staff I encountered were responsive, but somewhat on autopilot.I disliked the strong hotel perfume in the lobby, the loud A/C (which kept me from sleeping), the poor desk chair and the lack of ability to open any window.
Where do I start. We reserved a block of rooms for a wedding months in advance. They told us to arrive by 2 pm even though check in was at 3. Upon arrival, our rooms were spread out not together, and we waited over 2 hours for our room to be ready. It was almost 4 pm by the time we were assigned a room and we had a 5 pm rehearsal to be at. Not to mention the construction going on in the lobby. The sound of chopping the tiles carried all the way up to the 2nd floor. The pool was drained out and the gym was disassembled. To make our stay even worse when we checked out we found someone had backed into our vehicle and left not reporting the damage. They could not access their security footage and we were told that they where not responsible. Would never stay at this hotel ever again!
Long and short my wife and I had multiple billing problems both during and after our stay. One staff member was condescending towards my wife who works in hospitality and has been both an associate and a manager. Our billing issues are still not resolved as of this moment. Our breakfast menu was never taken off our door so we never got breakfast even though we had it out 10 hours ahead of the cut off time for collection. The staff was useless because nmthey never fixed anything we reported except our door after we had to tell them several times. Worst hotel stay of my life
My husband and I had never stayed at a Sheraton and we were invited to a wedding which the bride made special arrangements for her wedding guests to stay at the Sheraton Tarrytown Hotel. Upon arrival, the check in was super fast and easy. We were about 15 minutes early but that was not a problem. Room was in perfect working order, smartly decorated and the use of space was very efficient. We ere even welcomed back by the doorman with a friendly welcome home when we came back from the wedding later that evening. Mattress was so comfortable we lounged in bed the next morning. We will be coming back soon!!! Highly recommend this hotel!!!
This was a good choice that I made. The Sheraton has great amenities and their rooms are super clean. The staff are warm and friendly. They were always greeting at the entrance and always willing to assist. I really enjoyed myself and will consider returning with family.
Safety and security is a real concern with this property. The first night, the fire alarm went off. Hotel staff was in a panic mode and manually turned off the alarm system prior to the arrival of fire Marshall. I also had an issue with my door lock, which I reported to the front desk. Since the maintenance was gone for the day, the representative mentioned that they will fix the lock in the morning. When I returned back to my room that afternoon, lock is still broken. Safety and security is not a priority at this hotel.
Room was nice but the overnight stay was awful! There had been a wedding that night and the overnight guests were hooping it up til the wee hours! Loud and disruptive. Impacted several floors. Didnt get one moment of sleep. Made getting up at 2:30 difficult for a day of flying. Very rude, very disrespectful. Front desk notified but nothing done to rectify.
We booked a suite for 3 nights 5 months before our sons wedding and requested a high floor or at least the SPG preferred floor. We checked in and was told neither was available. Normally that is not a problem because ALL rooms are expected to be in good conditoin- but the room we received had major stains all over the carpet, the furniture showed a lot of wear, rust stain on the tub wall, and areas obviously needing paint. As someone who rents out our own vacation home, these fixes take maybe 2-4 hours max for a team and yet they were not done. Why? All in all the hotel is fine, just very curious that a suite, or any room, would be even offered in this condition. The beds were great though, as expected, but the lighting was so dim-perhaps to hide the room condition? (we requested extra lighting, but never received it-it was so dim in the room everyone who stopped in commented on it). The housekeeping staff was good, very friendly and eager to please. The staff at the front desk was less friendly and not very helpful (I mentioned the room condition early after our check in and requested another room but no dice-mentioned again at checkout when asked how our stay was (he asked, I told him) and when we asked why there was no coffee in the lobby that Sunday morning, -a not so pleasant surprise in a hotel before you head out- we were offered to go purchase 2 free cups from the bar-nice but not really enough to compensate for the quality of the room ) . I recommend the hotel with caution, because I am assuming that after my (and hopefully others) review room maintenance will improve
My wife & I stayed at this hotel for one night. We were traveling from Boston to NYC and this was the perfect spot to overnight before heading to Citifield. The room was a good size and the bedding is very comfortable, as usual! We checked in late and there was not a problem at all. We did not use any of the amenities as we departed early in the morning to get to our next destination.Upon check out we were recommended to a diner about 5 minutes away. Excellent breakfast!I would definitely consider staying at this location again. I did notice it is in an office park area and did not see many restaurants/bars around. There is a grocery store in the next parking lot but it is not 24 hours.Best part of this stay, free parking! I definitely recommend this property to anyone!
This hotel was fine for a quick stay. Its not unsuitable but it is in need of a few updates. The room, upon entry, smelled a little weird. It may be that the carpet needs a little cleaning. In addition it has a huge air conditioner that is semi hidden behind a desk. The lighting in the room is dim at best.It was fairly clean, hair (not mine) on the towel and on the bathroom floor. And the bathtub is high up when youre coming out of the shower.Either way, these are minor, the most important thing is that my bed and room were generally clean. But if you were looking for a nice romantic like getaway this isnt it.
I been traveling the whole day and arrived kind of late to check in, rushing I completely forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste. I knew it was kind of late I called the front desk were I checked in earlier and was told that it would be delivered. I was so happy to hear this cause it was a nasty night out and it was raining and I didn’t want to walk to Stop & Shop in the rain. Felt good knowing the hotel offers some amenities to their guest at late hours to help out late travelers like my self.
Last time I stayed here the room really looked run-down and some floors were a construction site. This is better now. But: One day there was no housekeeping at all. When I showed up at the counter in the lobby the only thing they could do was to say „I‘m sorry about that. Do you need a fresh towel?“ On other days they forgot to exchange towels and to refill used-up shampoo or tea bags. ..That’s totally unacceptable for a high-priced 4* hotel. However, the worst thing: The air condition is so noisy at night several guests complained they couldn’t sleep!
Hot tub didnt work, in room coffee maker didnt use the right kind of coffee packets and had the wrong sized cups for the heat sleeve, coffee shop didnt have change and couldnt charge the room, so I needed to pay more thant I should have for my coffee, bathroom doors didnt stay closed. Bathroom was not clean (splatters all over the walls). On top of those things, the hotel walls were paper thin so it was noisy and just basically one small irritation after another.
This is a great place to stay on business in the area. There is plenty of room to spread out and work. The bed is lofty and warm. Downsides: No bathtub, and no closet. The armoire is crowded by the ironing board. The decor is very masculine. (see site photo!) Pool area is minimalist but the hot tub is pleasant. Could use a few chairs nearby. The room is well appointed. Multiday stay missed a few details like replenishing note pads and coffee. Im sure the front desk, Extremely Responsive, would have taken care of it if I had called about it. They were invariable friendly and went out of their way to be helpful at the desk.
Everything was lovely. All of your staff is genuinely helpful and gracious. The rooms clean and the beds (those divine pillows!) were so comfortable. The food was so good that my normally very picky 4 year old grandson ate everything on his plate declaring it was denicious. The patio is an especially nice touch for visitors dining with small children. It allows the child a bit of space and other dinner guests an indoor respite from active children.Thank you.
Rooms were relatively clean. Location is OK but many uber drivers do not knows this location. Im giving a 1 star because I had called three times in advanced and could not get anyone on the phone to speak with me. I arrived for one night and requested late checkout when I purchased online. They did not give me the late checkout and they did not tell me either. When I returned to my room the second day, all of my belongings were removed with the room open. There was no communication to me at all when I was out and nothing confirming or denying early checkout. No Sheraton Ive stayed at has ever acted this way and I would discourage anyone from this location given the behavior and lack of communication from the staff.
Ive stayed at this hotel numerous times for work. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst Sheraton Ive stayed at. The rooms consistently smell moldy (as evidenced by the dehumidifiers in the rooms)Additionally, management (without fail) will place incorrect room service charges on your bill. This happens consistently to my colleagues as well. Once you call, the charges are removed however the frequency with which this happens indicates either chronic neglect or a purposeful act. I would not recommend staying at this location.
Hope you like room service going through your stuff. They ignore you Going Greener sign, and still do room service, which includes putting things back in your suitcase that you left out and putting away all of your toiletries. I wouldnt necessarily say it was clean seeing how there was someones long hair on the floor and the bathroom walls were pretty gross. You better hope its not busy at night because guests doors slam shut with an obnoxious bang.
I stay at this hotel each month for business. Have been staying here for YEARS! The staff is super friendly - and the recent renovations in the rooms are great. They still need to complete renovations in the lobby, restaurant, and the Club Lounge - but looking good!Rooms are clean and very nice. Nice comfy beds.I stay on the Club Level and Nancy is a sweetheart - she gets a lot of regulars and knows them all by name - and runs around taking good care of everyone. Love visiting with her each morning. I look forward to seeing Nancy each visit! Great little breakfast and Starbucks Coffee :) and nice evening snacks in the lounge area.Brian and Sammy in the restaurant/bar are very nice & accommodating and the food is very good most of the time. :) Albania in the restaurant for breakfast always takes good care of me as well. The front desk staff is excellent: Lisa, Quincy, Eddie, and Jamie! So very nice and always help me - even thru snow storms, helping me dig my car out! Thanks to them all for taking such good care of me each and every visit!
Check in process was sooooo slow it was painful. The attendants nails were so longshe couldnt even type! Meanwhile, the overwhelming smell of perfume the lobby was nauseating. Front desk worker told me the AAA discount rate was MORE than the actual rate. Huh? I was so confused, and sick to my stomach ,but grateful the room was clean and accommodating.

2022-05-22Like others have said, this is a perfectly reasonable Sheraton at a good price. A couple highlights that I honestly think should be mentioned right on the website that make this a good place to stay:- Starbucks in the lobby! Not like a Barnes & Noble one, a real honest to god one that takes the Starbucks app and has food. Big plus!- Tesla supercharger in the parking lot. Tons of stations for charging, but limited to 150kW. Still, charged my rental Model 3 up fast!- Shares a parking lot with a Stop & Shop. Easy to get groceries or snacks for your stay.- As of May 2022, they’re still doing daily room cleaning and towel swaps. Hard to find in the pandemic!

2021-12-18We stayed at this hotel on a whim while we had some work done at our home nearby. It was a better experience than expected based on the reviews. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated but they do a decent job cleaning and you have everything you need. For the low price, it’s a good deal. Parking is free and plentiful. Freshly cooked breakfast is included for elite members and most amenities like the indoor pool and gym are open unlike many other properties. The staff really stands out here. Everyone is very nice and helpful. And there’s a full Starbucks attached.

2022-06-19My go to home away from home this year. The staff is welcoming and very personable. My business is appreciated and I am reminded of that with each trip, by both a smile and a greeting as well as a follow-up email from management. The chef on site is excellent! There are a good variety of choices. Breakfast also has many choices. Overall I am very, very pleased with the Sheraton Tarrytown Hotel.

2022-03-13Great staff and recent 2019 renovation. Breakfast could be better (omelet station or waffle) instead of all buffet but they’re doing a great job post Covid. Rooms are better than most courtyard/Spring Hill and daily housekeeping was great.Quincy at the front desk is one of the best I’ve encountered over the past year. He goes above and beyond and it’s clearly common practice for him. Kudos.

2022-01-19This was a perfectly reasonable stay and relatively inexpensive. Dont pay extra for a corner room (as we did) because it might just be adjacent to a stairwell -- not the actual corner of a building as you might believe. Similarly, no hut tub, despite advertising one. We should have called, but it didnt occur to us that the hotel would specifically advertise something they werent actually offering. I tried bringing both of these points up in response to the how was your stay email, but never got a response. Still, the pool was nice, the room was really comfortable, and we desperately needed the break!

2022-06-12Great room, clean, plenty of parking. Tesla chargers available (don’t have one but good to know) supermarket next door and plenty of shops nearby. Great place to stay with reasonable rates for a small escape from the city. Will definitely come stay here again.

2021-12-14Fabulous!!!! Very comfortable, staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Restaurant , Starbucks, bar on site. Fitness room, indoor pool, guest laundry, etc.. and OMG happy hour complimentary hot cocoa and cookies in the lobby next to the elevators. ( so you can grab one or 3 …. 😬😂 on your way up to your room) I may have had to go down to the lobby several times in the evening hours although I can’t recall why? …. First place I’ve been to in a very long while that everything was functioning properly. ( magnetic key, ice & machines not broken, all accessories en suite, fax & copier etc… ) 5 stars for that alone!! Very enjoyable ,!!!

2022-03-15For my first impression, I had a terrible experience. Do Not I repeat Do Not check in on the weekends at night. You’ll get terrible customer service. I went there and booked corner suite and wasn’t greeted and the lady was more focused on cleaning her computer than checking me in even when I told her my family was in the car. We were very tired from a long trip and wanted to check in and nothing. Marriot or spring hill is better. Not worth the money, I’m telling you.

2022-05-15Positive: Nice location and even has a Starbucks, wine store and grocery store next door Negative: First night we got there very late and the A/C wasn¿t working. Next day¿s room was much better. They gave us free breakfast buffet for sweating it out but I think we should have really gotten a discount on the room.

2022-05-10Positive: Location and friendly staff. Negative: Very dated and in need of deep cleaning. Not happy about only having one microwave per floor in the laundry room. Even the cheapest of hotels now have microwaves in the room.
