The UPS Store in other cities:
Just waited over an hour at this location and ended up leaving before I was helped. There was only one person working who instead of servicing each person in a timely manner, decided to try to help a bunch of people at once -including people who arrived after me because they had labels already printed. I get that it is Christmas time and places like this are very busy, but it seems like they should have thought ahead and had more staff, and the staff that was there should have focused on one task at a time to be able to actually get her work done.
I have never been treated like this before in my life! I can’t believe people having this behavior could be customer faced. I have reported it also to UPS as I was very shocked by the situation and no one in the future should be treated the same way I was treated yesterday. Please go to another UPS store if you want to be treated like a human being. I noticed that this UPS store has the worst ratings in the city, and it is indeed for a reason.
Extremely rude employees and notary. I was going to come back after their break was over, but then the notary or came out from the back and said that she wasnt signing anything else today. So the person in front told me to come back tomorrow and she said something along the lines of im not signing anything else tomorrow. So yea, would not recommend this place to anybody.
Brought a package to be returned to Amazon way back on January 30th. Woman at counter was quite pleasant and helpful, but here it is March 10th and my package still hasnt been shipped. UPS Customer Service says they cant track it. It shouldnt take six weeks to send out a return. Will not come here again.
I paid $38 plus for guaranteed next day delivery for a time sensitive package and four days later it still hasn’t arrived. I never got an email so I could track it and when I called they had no explanation as to why it didn’t make it on time or even close to it. First and last time I use this location.
I have worked at the UPS Store and have had nothing but a wonderful experience. It definitely feels like a big family and we all work effectively as a team. As for the owner, he holds this store and its employees to high standards. He is a hands on person and if is unable to be present, He trusts that his team will get it done. He is caring and very understanding not only as an owner but as a person which is very rare for owners these days !
I went into this UPS store to have a document notarized. I called in the morning and they said the notary would be available after 1 PM. I arrived at approximately 2:15 and was told the notary, who I could see sitting in front of the customer use computer, was having lunch and couldn’t notarize the document at this time. Since it was a freezing cold day I decided to wait. And although the notary got up to help ship packages and answer the telephone she told me she could not notarize my document until she completed her lunch. So I waited approximately 20 to 30 minutes. After I got home I noticed that the document was not sealed and so I called and asked if I came back could she seal the document. She said she didn’t have the seal with her and I would have to come back on Monday. Her attitude during this entire process was surly and unhelpful. I would never use this UPS store again and maybe not any UPS store.
If there is zero star I would give zero. On 10:30 am Saturday morning, the store is closed with a sign on the door saying “on lunch”. It must be nice that whoever works there decide to start having lunch at 10. I wonder how many hours of lunch you plan to have. There were two people waiting to pick up their boxes here and you just don’t care others’ situation.
Exceptionally miserable customer service. After Id hauled in several heavy boxes (wouldve been nice if theyd let me borrow a hand truck for a minute, but okay), I told the lady I needed to ship a few things. She said Just a minute, and I stood there waiting while she continued eating and watching TV on one of the computer screens. Eventually, she got up and helped me, but made it abundantly clear that every step was an enormous hassle for her, couldnt even be bothered to speak up when I didnt hear her the first time (but made sure I knew what an imposition it was for her to repeat herself).Look, I get it. Customer service is drudgery. I did it for a long time myself. But this kind of service is just obnoxious. Ill definitely be avoiding this particular UPS Store in the future.
I scheduled an appointment for a notary at 7pm on a Tuesday. I was kind of surprised that they had late hours as all the other UPS stores that I checked only offered 2pm as their latest time available. The document that I required a notary for also required 2 witnesses so I was happy to see that they offered late times to accommodate the schedules of 4 people.I showed up to my appointment only to find out that the notary wasnt even there. The associate at the desk stated that they dont check their system for appointments and that I should try the UPS store on 36th Street..What exactly is the point in scheduling an appointment if its not something you even honor?
STAY AWAY !! My coworkers and I walked into this store with 4 suitcases I needed shipped. I dropped them off at the exact same spot that I have been dropping off packages for the past 5 years working in the area. Upon dropping off our packages a UPS employee began yelling at us belligerently saying, What do you think youre doing?!, Wheres your common sense?!, and the worst of it all, WHAT ARE YOU STUPID?...... WHAT?! How are customers supposed to know where to drop off packages without any visual indication as to where the drop off zone or location actually is? Not to mention the fact that she had the veracity to undermine our intelligence?! That is completely unacceptable in any and all business environments. As the women behind the counter was having a mental breakdown, another employee confronted us without understanding the situation and began yelling at us as we simply stood in complete bewilderment. He proceeded to kick us out of the UPS store. With all that said and done, I left the store without an intent to leave a bad review, until to no avail...THEY LOST ALL MY PACKAGES!I guess vengeance comes before quality service at UPS stores nowadays. PLEASE dont go here if you want your packages shipped, stolen, lost, or if you own a business since the consequences can be quite devastating (we missed a sales opportunity because our products never arrived to our meeting).tldr; DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Worst/weirdest experience. Went in to do some Amazon returns at 11:15 on a Sunday and the woman working had just gotten there a minute before me (supposedly opens at 11). I walk in and say hi and she ignores me (I’m the only other person in the store) with her earbuds blasting. Finally I get her attention and ask if she can help with some returns- no response and goes to the back of the store. 5 minutes later she comes back and scans my return forms without a single word.
Busy when I first went (employee was friendly) but my package got sent out with a COD charge when it was supposed to be insurance. Package had to get returned across the country to wait until a manager could be reach a day later. Package finally got reshipped still waiting for it to get to the recipient! Going on week 4 of trying to ship this out. There was an employee who helped track the package and walked me through this whole process and he was very helpful.
As a former employee of this store. I had the displeasure to work here. I have worked at Ups Stores for more than 10 years all over the U. S and i must say that this franchise owner is a joke. You would think that owning more than one store you would know how things work and how to Handel employees but he did not. Nothing but point fingers and blame first then ask questions. The owner never made the investment to his workers or treated them like people. No one there was trained to Ups standards instead the traing was trial by fire not a great idea in one of the biggest citys in the world. I hope that one day that this store will get on the right track. That the owner invests his time to train his employees and no treat them with such disrespect. Better care of your employees will lead to better customer care and returning customers.
Make an appt on UPS site for notary service. received a confirmation email for half hour slot on a Friday. Turned up at UPS store - was told that the notary person was not working on that day and to return on Monday. I reckon the appointment feature on UPS website is just for show.
Worth the walk to go to another UPS store. We dropped off two suits and a dress for pack and ship and paid $15 for that service on top of the shipping costs in store only to have them pack and ship it three days later. In the amount of time it took use UPS pack and ship service, the items would have already arrived at our destination had we used another other shipper. It would also have been cheaper to purchase the packing materials, pack it ourselves, use the online website to purchase the shipping label, and drop it off at another location. Corporate UPS also doesnt enforce standards on their franchisees, so you might as well go to the United States Postal Service... itll be cheaper and faster.
Worst customer service I’ve received in a hot minute. The people who work behind the desk act like they hate their jobs.I sent a document to be printed at the 5th ave location and when I went to pick it up no one looked at me or spoke with me for 15 minutes only to be told that the document wasn’t printed and I would have to wait at least a half hour. I was on lunch break so I had to leave.Came back three days later and the same employee I talked to told me that no one printed it and she can’t do it because their cardstock printer would get jammed.Such a joke.
I have never come across such an incompetent team of people. I purchased an overnight envelope NYC-OTTAWA, CANADA to send passports to be stamped with visas. I requested an additional self addressed return label to go inside such envelope so that Immigration Canada could return the passports to me.An agent named Brian sold me the WRONG PRODUCT/LABEL and now my PASSPORTS ARE LOST because of the wrongly made label. I am working things out with Immigration Canada to try to locate my passports in the UPS UNIVERSE and try to get them back to me.Worst thing is, the two or three times I called this store to get information I was not given any, in the contrary, I was yelled at to say the least by an agent called William, who turned the cards on me, never accepted the fact that they sold me wrong labels, and was simply offensive and RUDE. Apparently agents at the stores can’t see much information on their systems, thing that could have been politely explained to me instead of giving me an attitude AND LYING TO ME saying that the passports were on their way to me. These are legal documents, one of the passports is IRANIAN and a duplicate cannot be obtained from the US. These agents should be better trained. If they don’t know how to produce a label or provide a specific service, they SHOULD NOT pretend like they do and jeopardize people’s LIVES, literally in my case.
Came here to ship on Wednesday night around 5 and was greeted by a lady named Melissa, instead of being asked how may I help you or something of that nature I was asked What do you need? I in return walked out because of the disrespect. Came this morning and shipped with a gentleman named Charlie, and I was greeted with a Good Morning, how can I help you? I wonder if that girl Melissa can learn a thing or two from him. With that being said my shipping experience was OK here wish I was respected better last night so I could have gotten it over with.
Came here for Notary services. The notary public told me I would have to wait 20 minutes while he replaced light bulbs. I stood at the counter and watched him 5 feet away behind the counter changing light bulbs and windexing light covers. Seems pretty easy for him to stop for one minute and help a customer before returning to his task. This location is not interested in putting the customer first.
The young kid behind the counter must have been sleeping while working when I came in to ship some foods back to myself in Florida. He was unresponsive and I told him multiple times to make sure things were packed in properly since there were cans and cookies. Fast forward to today, I get the package and its smashed, one can of tomatoes dented in, one glass jar of sauce shattered, two bags of expensive cookies completely smashed. This kid is an idiot and I wouldnt let him cook my french fries.
Horrible Store. Do NOT drop any pre-labeled packages to be picked up. The packages will not get picked up for days. You are better off finding a UPS driver on the street and handing it to him. Horrible customer service and treat you like an idiot. Think they can do whatever they want. These stores are individually owned and nothing to do with UPS. DO NOT USE THEM, in particular 243 5th Avenue location in NYC. They lie and give you zero information.
I walked in the store earlier today and had to walk right back out its inhumane for an employer to have his employee working in an dust and clouded smoked environment because of the construction going on. I felt very sorry for the young man the counters were filthy i could have written my name on it. I dont understand how you as an employer can subject your employees to work in that environment. You as an owner should be ashamed of yourself and dont be so cheap to even have your employees endure that type of filth and uncomfortable working environment. I would surely make a formal complaint to either dept of health or labor or whoever i can because that was unacceptable.
Stick it to the Customer is what they do here. You would think if you ship from UPS store to UPS store all you would need to pay would be the cost for shipping. Not at this store. If you ship a package here, You have to pay a Domain Fee of $30 in order to get our package. They will send you package back to the UPS store you shipped it from before they would give it to you at no cost. So find a address to ship to, Dont ship to this UPS unless you just like to throw your money away.
If i could i would put 0 stars. I needed to print a page, sign it and send back to my email address and i was charged 7$. When i complained i was told that it was my fault because i didnt ask the price before. And the clerk was very rude with me.Without considering that tbe all process took 15 minutes
Absolutely terrible service--I urge you not to go there!! They mixed up my package that contained very valuable things and when I called to ask for help they did not help whatsover!! They claimed they did not know what the package was. I had to contact the other person they mixed the package with to help get back my stuff. The manager does not communicate with his employees and all the boxes are just thrown on the ground. Terrible to say the least!!
Charlie is a very rude staff and lacks customer service skills. All he basically was telling me is that he cant help me and I asked to speak to the General Manager. His response was, Hes not here and hes just going to tell you the same thing Im telling youThanks to Melissa for assisting though. Dont know why Charlie is still working there.

2022-06-10This must be the most rude person I have ever had the chance to interact with ever! It is not surprising this store has 2 stars. The attitude of this person was absolutely ridiculous and for no good reason. She was yelling at an old lady in the store right before I approached her. I waited for 30 minutes for “Kimberly” - the notary, before being thrown out the door because I dared to come close to the counter and tell her that I need to notarize some documents. Her colleague was very amused by the situation.

2022-08-18I only drop off packages here when I don’t have time to walk to another location. Several times, I have witnessed customers get cursed at for no reason. Very ghetto here. I can only blame management for hiring and creating a toxic environment since this is continuous across different employees spanning years.

2022-06-29A woman UPS worker was standing with an unbuckled belt and undone jeans while working the counter. While she asked to confirm the address I pointed out 3 typos and she said: “YOU’RE STRESSING ME OUT”, turned around and walked away from the counter. I was left standing there with the unsent package in my hands and had to go somewhere else. You literally have one job and that’s to put in a sender address and a recipient address.

2022-02-02THIS WAS THE MOST DISTURBING & UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR I ENCOUNTERED IN MY LIFE !!!The lady that claimed she was the store manager in that location 2 E 28th Street ,NY,NY around 11 am on February 1,2022 was the rudest & unprofessional UPS customer service I met.At first I asked for her Supervisor because she blocked me on that spot not trying to help me all I asked is to help me to use their Wi-Fi so I can get an access to my return code that most of the other UPS workers there always helping me with my previous returns. Aside from refusing to help me ,she just swear, yelled & asked me to leave. I felt really so bad because I’m a nanny & I have my boy 2 &3 month old with me that time hearing this swearing & yelling. It’s unnecessary behavior unfortunately that he needs to hear .I asked her name & she said Ashley but when I asked her full name she said why she gonna do that I might be a robber or criminal so she refused to say her full name.I literally went to the UPS store mainly just to return something but didn’t expect I will experience that kind of treatment & disappointment.I can tell she so miserable in her job & she doesn’t deserve working in that place.I reported her already & got my case number.Just waiting for the owner to review my complaint .I always feel bad if other people are in trouble but this lady needs to learn a lesson & hoping for a disciplinary action.

2022-06-08No wait, the attendant was very kind and helped me save money on a few returns. I was afraid to go here due to previous reviews, but ended up giving in because it was closer to where I was staying - I’m glad I did

2022-07-20The previous commenters are correct. The proprietor is unprofessional and rude. I asked to have some thing notarized and she said she wouldn’t do it and don’t come back tomorrow either.

2021-10-27I have never been treated like this before in my life. How can people that are disrespectful, impolite and rude could work with customers? Please go to another store if you want to be treated like a human being. I have already reported this to UPS and I was not surprised when I read other customers’ experiences in Google. The lady was ignoring me and making laugh at me with the other store manager (I also saw that in other comments, I hear you). I hope actions will be made so this unpleasant experience won’t happen again to other customers.

2022-01-27I usually refrain from leaving negative reviews, but I had to post/dedicate this one-star review to the woman working on 1/27/22 at 4:44PM and 5:04PM for continuously hanging up on me over the phone after I civilly asked about the location’s notary services.P.S. Shoutout to the other dude working there at the time for actually being professional. I think his name was Michael.
