I went in here a few days ago to ship a return package. I called in advance to ask if they had a box that would fit my item and they said yes and I can being it in to be packed. I took the 30lb item 10 blocks to have a woman behind the counter tell me they dont have that box size and Im going to have to look elsewhere. I told her I called in advance and confirmed but she said she doesnt know what Im talking about and hat I need to look ok elsewhere. So I went and bought the right size box at FedEx and brought it back to this ups the next day and the gentleman behind the counter said they already have that box size and that I didnt need to get one from FedEx. This woman obviously is willing to rudely and firmly lie to customers and turn their business away. This was a horrible experience and I wont be returning to this UPS.
My experience with this USP location is one of the best. I had been to the store at 1324 Lexington Ave. and it was a disaster. The employee was on a personal phone call when I waked in. There were 3 other customers as he talked on the phone. He was rude and obnoxious. I left and went to 1632 1st Ave. and had a pleasant experience. The women in the store were professional and on top of everything. I highly recommend this UPS, 1632 1st Ave. location. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!!
I always come here for postal needs, which for me is mainly amazon returns, which is free anyway. Don’t buy boxes here, go to Big John’s a block away for 1/5th the price (they only take cash there). Five stars because the people here are always nice. They actually go out of their way to help you and make sure you’ve packaged everything up correctly. Plus, it’s usually not too busy and they often have two people working.
Never go here exactly at opening hours (do it at least 30 mins after the fact). I have visited this location on two separate occasion during their opening hours, only to find out the establishment hasnt opened yet for business or the lights are on inside but the door is locked.My first experience entailed a 30 min wait for the UPS personnel to return from whatever errands he had to run. I got there at 11AM on the dot on a Sunday (opening hours were at 11AM) just as he stepped out the door and was locking it. I asked if I could ship out my package or at least leave it inside the store, he seemed like he couldnt care less.My second experience entailed another wasted 30 mins and a bunch of back and forths. I went there at 10:40AM on a Saturday (Note: It was suppose to be open at 10AM!) only to find out the place hasnt opened yet and 3 packages were already left outside by the door from other patrons. I decided I didnt want to risk following suit so I went back home to drop off my package with the intention of shipping it out at a later time that day. When I left my house and walked past the store (again), the place was opened and then I had to go back home to bring my package back out (again).This place is really a pain for me. Not sure if my experience were just bad luck but if an establishment is suppose to open at a certain time, Id expect it to be open AT THAT TIME. Other than that, the service & speed on how they process their customer is acceptable. 2 stars none-the-less.
This is very much a friendly neighborhood store. Their staff is helpful and accommodating and they provide a variety of services; mailing packages, faxing, making copies, selling packaging supplies, et al.My only caveat is that their services are costlier than the USPS, but this is compensated for by the convenience of their location and fast service.
I have had many helpful interactions here; but the reason for my review is that despite calling twice on two seperate days and asking if they accept DHL packages; I was told they did not. On a separate occasion where I was in the store; I saw the sign in the window indicated that they did accept DHL packages; and the person who was working that day confirmed.
SO many times I have arrived at their scheduled opening time (9;03 am today Friday, for instance; often during weekends at later times) to find that they are not open. At least 4 times in the last 3 months I had to go back home with my packages (not everybody can always wait for an unspecified amount of time for it to open). Great Inconvenience!

2022-04-02Went in today to ship a pound of candy in a bubble envelope, and the employee on duty admitted that they didnt know how to adjust the dates for shipping, thus making my small shipment cost over $70 if I had gone through with it. Please train your employees properly, as none of her coworkers/manager was picking up the phone for any solutions to the problem other than for me to leave and take my business elsewhere. This place is a scam.

2022-04-22I got what i needed but the man working there really did not want to help me. i asked if he could help me print shipping labels on a sticker and he said no, even though that’s literally the entire point of a UPS…shipping? Had to spend an extra $5 on tape because he was too lazy to do it because I was alone in there, nobody waiting. He just wanted to hang out in the back the whole time. Could have been a little nicer to someone who just needed a couple things printed.

2022-05-14I have never not seen a massive line in front of this place. Today I had the misfortune of having to wait in it. One person working, waited close to an hour just to return an order that only involved a quick scan and drop in the bin. Avoid this location at all costs.

2022-07-09AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! The most horrible staff, rude, unhelpful obnoxious, and just plain inept. The thin young man with tattoo’s and a bad attitude is excessively arrogant and just plain mean, obviously these young hires hate working, would rather laugh and party when they should be helping customers and no amount of off location managerial scolding helps this chronic problem with these awful people.I agree with ALL the other BAD reviews!!! I am too disgusted to write anymore.

2022-04-09On a Saturday morning at 11am, after waiting in line in the rain for 20 minutes, with my prepaid shipping label I was refused service. He would not let me purchase a box to pack and ship. He said “he only does returns” whatever that meant. So, yeah I don’t recommend if you’d actually plan on shipping.

2021-11-02I stopped by here recently to send out two small packages using barcodes given. Showed the associates my codes to be scanned, then they basically handled the rest. First time here, but the staff seemed friendly enough. Both of my packages were shipped that day so have nothing to complain about.If youre looking for a UPS store this might be the best in the city

2019-12-19This is actually one of the best UPS stores in Manhattan. Very efficient and friendly staff. Only issue I ever had was I forwarded a package from my home to the store as I wasn’t going to be home that day and they refused the package due to its size. It’s a small store so understandable, but created a logistical challenge for me to get the package.

2021-09-12Went there on Friday to return Amazon order, they didn’t want to accept. Told me that I have to have my return in one box, other way they will not take it . Then I went to different ups store and return was accepted without any problems.

2020-12-12I come to this location all the time and have always had a good experience until recently. On my last visit, I had just changed my mind and decided to ask for receipt for my package and was unnecessarily yelled at by the woman with short curly hair. She raised her voice saying that next time she wouldnt give me one because she had already asked me earlier. Her rant and attempt to humiliate me took longer than it did for the other woman behind the counter to print my receipt. She shouldnt treat her customers this way and then threaten to refuse service for no valid reason.
