Food was great. Waitress was absolutely awful. Not very busy but was very awful at serving. Had to get up multiple times to request service. Another table walked out due to service.
The Poutine was fantastic. Service was friendly and prompt.
We went here for breakfast and absolutely loved the food. Egg Benedict and pancakes are a must try!
Great little place and one of the few open on Sunday morning for breakfast in the Saratoga Springs area. No wait for a table and seating was available indoors. Food was decent, portions were generous, and the prices reasonable. Menu was limited although I consider this a plus for a small diner. Service was a bit slow with only one person taking care of the entire restaurant however it is a small establishment and the staff member was attentive. Given the area this was a real find.
It’s was my third time ordering from this place and I don’t know if I will be back. Ordered the country style breakfast and it was not good. I ordered sunny side up eggs and they came out runny on the whites, like really funny. The potatoes tasted like fiesta potatoes with paprika and were all mushy not crispy. My sausage was about half cooked. Forgot my toast. Bacon and French toast were fine. I let my waitress know about the issues and she grabbed the manager. The manager then began to question the way I order my food and said I should order the eggs over easy next time. I asked for two replacement eggs over easy as she suggested with toast. I got the replacement items or at least I thought they were replacements until I was charged for two extra eggs and toast. It is one thing to own a mistake and take action for it and it is a totally other thing to take action and put blame on the customer for poor quality.
I havent been to Shirleys in years but had take out a couple months ago. Turkey club was excellent!Went to lunch there this past week and had the poutine. Huge portion and it was delicious! Cant wait to go back!
Ordered a smoked meat sandwich ...not on menu.Received a few slices of meat which was so tasteless and unchewable it had to be returned..I felt it was not the quality of real Montreal smoked meat we used to be served...tasted like corn beef...(what little piece I could taste).Used to be a steady customer...will not return.

Shirleys was very crowded and full of customers. The server was as nice as could be and was really hustling to get everyone their food quickly. The egg sandwiches, crepes and pancakes are fresh as can be..great prices! We will definitely go back again for a visit!
Friendly service in a comfortable atmosphere... but the poached eggs in my benedict were overcooked- yolks were like hard-boiled eggs. I wont go back.
If you are interested in great tasting food and a friendly staff Shirleys is where you need to eat. Reasonabley priced and you actually get a good size portion of food, not a celery stick that costs more than your shoes. Thank you for a great breakfast.
The food was very good at Shirleys, I like my eggs over medium and they were perfect. The pancakes were good too, if just slightly dry, but not dense. Extra crispy bacon, no problem they nailed it! Also, maybe I mis-read what came with the country breakfast, but the quantity was more than I expected. I couldnt finish my meal and I thought I was hungry. Overall Shirleys gets my recommendation.

Just stopped in today on a whim to to try a local diner I had never tried. Very cute little Canadian Diner and we were greeted by very friendly staff. I ordered the Montrealer; 2 eggs however you like them (I opted for over easy and they were perfect), Montreal Smoked Meat, home fries or hash browns and your choice of toast. Montreal Smoked Meat is a Montreal specialty; cured beef brisket seasoned with the famous Montreal Seasoning. Today was my first time trying it and I must say that it was fantastic! Will be coming back again to try some of their lunch! They have Poutine!!!

I went by myself around noon on a Monday and the place was over half full with one waitress handling all the tables, the phone and the take out orders. As soon as a table left, more came to fill their place. The waitress was extremely fast, attentive and super nice and I was seriously impressed at how she maneuvered all these things seemlessly. Many restaurants these days are understaffed and this one was no exception. I hope everyone realizes this and tips well, especially for people like this young woman. Thank you for the great service and thank you to the kitchen staff for the great food.
Benedicts were phenomenal!Service, absolutely top notch.A great overall experience. My only gripe is that they offered no turkey or non-red meat alternatives, at least that I saw, for those of us with heart disease.

If the World was going to end in 5 minutes, I would want to spend it here. This place is so slow from being sat, to bringing coffee and to getting breakfast.The wait staff is nice. The owner just walks around offering coffee, but forgets to bring it to the table. Clearly, he is not in touch as people wait to be seated. Here is a suggestion, get a busboy and seat two people at a 2 or 4 top, not at a big round. Crazy place.
Food came quickly; in spite of the fact that it was busy and filled up, it didnt seem crowded or claustrophobic. Twas comfortable, felt comfortable. Prices not too bad but have increased along with the present hysteria that has resulted from covid-nastrafy and insecurity. Been going there for years and still pretty good choice for people who dont want pretense or fancy.

I havent been here in a few years. Used to go with my grandmother. Typically for lunch. This time, I had gone in and gotten breakfast. The food was good, and the staff quick and friendly. Ill definitely visit there for a bite to eat again!

I was there this past weekend and I ordered a delicious breakfast and the eggs were perfect!!! My waitress Jackie was awesome!!! I will definitely be going back!!

I ordered breakfast sandwiches and they screwed up my order. They cant make an over easy egg it was fried. Home fries were gross. They dont know how to toast the bread. Very unorganized place and need new cooks. Bad place to go. Never again i rather have mcdonalds.
Service was horrible!! Our waitress could not complete an order....We asked 3 times for more coffee and 3times for the bill!!! Food was cold when served....after waiting 20 for it...We have eaten at Shirleys for many years, but will not be returning EVER!!!!!
The food here is really good. My wife said the gluten free pancakes werent bad at all! My poached eggs were perfect. The service is very friendly and attentive! My only concern was the lack of social distancing between tables! It was business as usual with the exception of masks. Id hate to see such a great diner fall flat because of a COVID case reported from them. I hope to be back soon and to see that they are at 50% rather than 100% capacity. I was leery sitting with another person sitting not 2 feet behind me and another 2 feet behind my wife. Every other table should have been removed or at the very least blocked off so nobody can sit. Condiments left on the table for all to touch. Sugar packets cant be sterilized. Some very simple COVID precautions were overlooked here.

This place has an been an old favorite for years but having moved away a few ago have missed this place. I ordered their perfect Eggs Benedict and enjoyed the visit. Highly recommend this simple no frills eatery with a decent menu selection and winning combination of decent service!
We came for the Montreal Smoke Meat, but due to the Pandemic, is unavailable. However the poutine is very good, as was the corned beef sandwich. My sons Irish eggs Benedict was good too. However, the crepe that we ordered for dessert was undercooked, just this side of dough.
I’ve always like Shirley’s diner because it’s like the home atmosphere the coffee taste like my grandma’s food is always good service is always good it’s always like going to our own families house to have something to eat.

This was our first time at Shirleys and it was great! The Belgian waffle with fresh fruit was fantastic, and the crepes were proper, everything was delicious. The menu had some good gluten free choices and healthier options as well. Friendly service and a great atmosphere. Well be back for more!
Good food, would have been nice to have had some substitute options for those with food intolerances and allergies. Our server was fantastic, glad we didnt get the girl who kept sneaking outside on the back patio to text on her phone. Very dog friendly with large patio space.

I dont get to Saratoga often during the hrs Shirleys is open but WOW, they have such great food and staff is nice. I remember coming here with my parents and it is nothing but great memories and absolutely delicious food!
Probably one of my favorite places in Saratoga to get breakfast. Their specialty is Eggs Benedict, and they have many variations to choose from. Not too expensive and it doesnt take long to get a table. The only thing is they are not on Broadway so it doesnt attract the attention they deserve.
Breakfast is well-done, perhaps a little pricier than your average diner, but worth the modestly higher price -- particularly the eggs benedict. Service was first-rate with plenty of coffee refills at just the right time. A little off the beaten path but definitely worth the trip out of the center of town.
The food was VERY good. The service was alright but it was also very busy and they seemed short staffed. I would have given 5 stars but my food came out more on the warm side but the portions were huge and the quality was excellent!
Good breakfest spot, reccomend the salmon benedict. Has multiple variations on eggs Benedict and also crepes.
If your looking for an old school diner, this is the place. Good food at an affordable price. You can still get a decent breakfast for under $10. Service has been super good every time Ive been there. And for something different, try the Montreal Smoked Meat! Its as authentic as you are likely to get this side of the Canadien border...
This resturant has been around for years. A popular place to go eat for breakfast and lunch. The Wait Staff cant be beat fast and freindly service. And food is delish it keeps you going back for more time and time again. Prices are very reasonable as well. Check it out and see it for urself.

Shirleys has the best egg sandwiches in Saratoga... I know, because Ive tried them all. High quality, fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection. I got an egg/bacon/cheese/hard roll sandwich to go yesterday. I cant wait to go back.

This place is normally great. Today (12/26/16 at 0935) is not the case. The waitress (an older lady) was inattentive in that she was more focused on cleaning the table next to me than taking my order........while taking my actual order. This probably led to her not bringing my milk or sausage links with the rest of my meal. I was almost done with my meal when she walked by, asked how I was doing, as she continued on her way without my answer. The Eggs Benedict were over cooked and the toast was cold. I received the check......they charged me for the sausage that I never got. Bad service overall......I may give it another shot because of my previous experiences.
The food was good but the place was dirty and the waitress was rude. My husband had to call her over to take my order. Her reply was sorry I forgot! Definitely a place that we will not be going to again.

I cant go back here. The food is fine, but the service was slow and rude. No one talks to you when you come in, so you have to assume you should seat yourself. Then you wait. Then when someone finally comes to take your order, youre not even sure theyre talking to you or the people next to you because theres no eye contact. When we finished I wanted to get out of there and away from their negativity so I went to the checkout counter, told the woman what wed had and asked to pay. She barked She has to give you a ticket! Unbelievable.
Absolutely hands down the best breakfast around. Drove down from fort ann with my wife and kids. Very busy yet seated right away. Thank you so much for the hospitality.
Been there for years. New owners kept everything the same. Great little breakfast spot. Glad the guy who owns it now kept it the same. Guess he liked it too and seized the chance to keep it going when he heard it was going to close.

Classic diner food. 2 out of 4 of our meals were wrong....though they still were good, it wasnt what we ordered.
Best breakfast place around. And if you are hungover it is a must have. Their poutine after a hard night of drinking is like an elixir for my soul. Dont make a mistake and go anywhere else. This is the place.
Biscuits and gravy had very little flavor, hardly any sausage and luke warm. A huge downer was when I asked for the wifi password the waitress had no idea nor did she try to find out. It definitely is not the same as the original Shirleys, its been a while since I ventured in and most likely will not return.
By far the best breakfast around. Sizable portions that don’t leave you feeling like you ate a bowl of grease. All-in-one wrap, Healthy Omelette, Ben-Veggie, and the shredded potatoes are my faves.
The food tasted delicious. The service could have been quite a bit more friendly. Was there only once, so it may have been just the mood of the service staff on that day.

Always good food and service till yesterday 10/14/17 very busy walked in then left the onwer came out said 2 mintes got a table 2 mintes come to find out a customer was waiting for a table before us and she was still waiting when we were seated. ordered omelette egg whites with Onion,mushroom cheadder cheese home fires rye bread what I did get was omelette whole egg spinach mushroom Onion white bread hash browns. Told the waitress she said someone switchedched plates. So while everyone at our table finished most of their food my plate arrived wrong cheese in my omelette and hash browns not homes fires this waitress had to much to do couldnt take care of her customers. So I left without eating. Done😑😑😑😑😑
Try somewhere else. Theres plenty of far better diners to eat at around the Saratoga area. Between the numerous flies buzzing around me as I tried to eat my soggy French toast, and the poor, slow service. I found Shirleys to be a huge disappointment.
Quick service and delicious food! Had the Ben & Veggie with a grilled biscuit. Everything was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Highly recommend!

My Husband Ron and I had our first date here August 28th 2018. We frequently have breakfast here between our School bus runs and return on the anniversary of our first date. Were hoping to soneday say weve been coming here for 20yrs !

2021-12-29Delicious as always! Super large portions. I only ate about half and then had leftovers for later. I ordered the Eggs Benedict; the ham was thick, and the hollandaise sauce was delicious.My dad and I come here every time I visit home.

2022-04-09I loved everything about this place. You know when the waitress you talk to has worked there for over 10 years that they’re doing something right! Food was great and some unique things on the menu.I wasn’t completely full but I’m a heavy eater and can’t have bread so I imagine if I did I’d been full, the smoked brisket was amazing! 2022-03-17Went for dinner expecting a diner. Got in there and the smell was amazing! It was authentic Mexican food and boy howdy was it delicious! The fried quesadilla was crispy and perfect. They have house made hot sauce which blows Tabasco out of the water! Will recommend this place to everyone! And coming back next time I’m in the area.

2022-04-24Been by this place a million times on my way to the track in August and have never stopped. The wife and I spent the night in Saratoga for an event and wanted breakfast and what a breakfast we got. staff super friendly and the food was generous and very tasty. We will be stopping again whenever we are out that way.

2021-01-19Ordered breakfast wraps to go-- tasty, affordable but best yet the portions were surprisingly large (we shoulda shared but since we didnt we were full till dinner time). Hostess was incredibly friendly on the phone/pick-up. Given the great first impression, we decided to come back the next morning for breakfast but this time to eat-in. Service didnt disappoint and again our breakfast was super satisfying. Definitely recommend stopping by and supporting this great local business. I look forward to dining at Shirleys next time we come back to Saratoga Springs.

2022-05-05Service is great food is always to customers specified satisfaction. If not theyll work with you. Family style seating . When necessary they will properly social distance their customers. I make a habit of stopping for my meal here, after an earlier morning procedure.
