Beware when you go to the deli. There are two people who never change their gloves when picking things from the floor and they rinse off meats and cheeses when they drop them as well. These two are Christina and Kathy. DONT LET THEM CUT YOUR COLD CUTS.They also have black mold in their walk in that they expect the deli night crew to properly clean instead of getting it done professionally. Theyll also refuse to close the deli for sanitary reasons unless the union gets involved. You should honestly just completely avoid the deli and seafood if you value your health and safety.
I always order the home delivery. Today I noticed what was an error on my deliver address... I called and spoke to a really nice girl in the phone in the home delivery dept to clear up any errors. I applaud this young womans customer service!!! I will be calling the manager to inform him of her great service!
Not sure who trained the staff, but they need more training. A store label had hummus @ $2.49, they charged me $4 & then I Had to go to Customer Service so they can fix the issue. Took 5min + just to get a refund, while the managers argued w/ a man for not wearing a mask.
Nice experience here. A worker named Samuel took the time out to help us locate an item we were looking for which was amazing because usually all we get from workers is an I dont know. Store is clean, prices are reasonable, front entrance seemed a bit overcrowded with items. But overall, Id visit again.
They dont help out veterans that dont carry cash on them specially when they charge 10 cents for a paper bag when everyone else charges 5 cents it wont kill them to pay for the bags sometime so dont shop at shoprite in Bayshore or you will be forced to put your grocery in a cart and unload each item one at a time into your car
The deli meat counter is trash... every day I get my cold cuts they cut the cheese thinner than the meat, they dont ask thickness, and the cheese comes out into one block that you need a knife to chip off pieces.. never fails. I have pictures of successive days where its just worse and worse. I use them at my familys deli to show the kids what not to do. They need someone who actually knows what they are doing to run that counter.
First time there, I was at HD and needed a couple of small things. I found everything I needed and at very good prices...Definitely going back.One quick note, the store was very busy, I have to give credit where credit is due, plenty of registers were open to handled the large volume for the Thanksgiving rush, only a couple of people on each line and it went very quickly...Nice Job. !
Sometimes they advertise items on sale and the don’t have them also the deli is very slow and doesn’t have the thins that are advertised in stock and the bakery is not to good we bought oatmeal raisin cookies they had no taste only raisin and they won’t slice bread anymore but my wife likes this store I’m done! But still better than it’s competitors
Yes, this ShopRite is nicely organized and primarily efficient; however, SHOPPERS BEWARE! You should ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS, check your receipt prior to leaving the store or better yet, while your items are being rung up. I cant count the number of times that I forgot to check my receipt until I got home only to discover that sale/nonsale item(s) were charged at an incorrect price! BE VIGILANT IN CHECKING!
It is a fine supermarket. No stock blocking aisles. The floor is clean. Some freezer case sections were nearly empty. Couldnt find frozen spinach right away because merchandise wasnt fronted, probably because the stock help is off duty. My bad back locked up reaching for the merchandise.Three stars because of inconvenience and pain; lack of entertainment and a bar for the pain. Hey, one can wish.
I went in for cat litter that is currently on sale. Once AGAIN they do not have the sale product in stock! When I asked for a rain check the kid in customer service said they dont give rain checks for animal products. When he called the manager on duty, 5/25/21@ about 5 pm I was told he confirmed no rain checks for animal products. This shoprite has one of the most unfriendly, discriminative, and revolting policies around. They obviously lure you in when they know they dont have sale products and try to screw you over! Shoprite of BayShore, N.Y. you just lost a customer for life!!!!!!
This place needs to be clean, the manager needs to be reeducated how to treat staff , screaming is not acceptable from a manager in front of customer. Please clean this place starting with the tall manager without manners needs to be fired. Yes im a customer and i have seeing bad situation with this manager. There are few cashier everyone left because were treating like garbage. Shame on you shoprite in Bayshore .
Today was a rough day and to top it off i had to go food shopping. Store was crazy but i left with a smile on my face😀. I had Diamonte as my cashier. So friendly and polite with a wonderful smile to everyone on the line. Thank you for hiring such an awesome individual!!
Honestly the worst experience ever. The other day I went into get a gallon of milk and the milk I picked up was expired and was from October 23rd so I grabbed another one that was also expired. Not to mention the shelf’s that the milk was on looks like they have not been cleaned ever and like someone just simply had no care in the world so I took a picture as well as brought both things of milk up to customer service where a young lady was extremely rude and disrespectful and told me it wasn’t her issue and there was nothing she could do so Inasked for a manager who also then proceeded to tell me that he finds it hard to believe that one of his employees could over look such a thing even with the proof right in front of his face. Will NEVER go here again!!!!
This store is well laid out & really good on produce, meat, etc. I really wish ( & have told customer service and the website on many occassions) that they would stock all of the circular items and expand their gluten, dairy, soy free choices. I have asked for specific items but seem to be talking to deaf ears. Therefore, I only do part of my shopping here and take the rest of my business elsewhere!
The place is kept pretty neat and well stocked. The problem comes from long lines and the group of, slightly above cashier, well below manager level employees that they have running the center of the store that stand in a circle and talk all day. Ive had several cashiers having to leave to get them to come help while they were just busy talking with a fellow employee about their weekend. They should just have one in the middle and spread out their runners to stop them talking and allowing them to actually see when they are needed.
Place has a new store manager. Shelves are bare. Not sure if its an ordering issue or a stocking issue. Meat section smells like something died, and the chicken packs were filled with water and half frozen. Freezer cases were empty. This is not a one time thing. This has happened 3 times in the last week Ive shopped there. Lost me as a customer.
I have shopped at this store over 20 years. Today i was discriminated beyond belief and accused of being a thief. I had already rung up over 10 items in self checkout. I had already scanned one pack of hamburger meat and i went to scan another pack of hamburger meat that wouldnt scan. The sales associate accused me of not scanning either packs and that i was trying not to pay for anything. I didnt say anything as i had my 11 month old with me and with a heart condition, i didnt want to get even more upset. After finishing scanning everything else and paying. I went to the cashier Alicia and told her do not ever accuse me of trying to steal anything especially when im purchasing other items that cost way more then the item that i was stealing. She got irate and her and the other coworkers started laughing. I had no intention of reporting it to the manager. I ended up reporting them to managenent because of them laughing. I waited for about 10 minutes for the manager to come. While waiting i noticed the cashiers where on the phone with the manager and waiting to see what will happen. The manager Julio came out being disgustingly nasty and rude towards me and saying I was laughing and that it was her job to accuse me of stealing the items. Seriously, instead of accusing me to my face she could have just looked on the screen and saw that i already scanned the item. How is it appropriate to accuse someone of stealing. He then accused me of being irate. I am extremely low spoken and yes i raised my voice. 1. Because i got accused of stealing and 2 because you as the manager said it was okay. Also 3. I have my 11 month old with me who is becoming cranky and is ready to go. After being called a thief and irate i asked for my money back. I was then told i wasnt allowed my cash back because they were not giving me back but they can put it on a card. Umm i think not. I agreed and gave them my card and Julio walked off with my card. I asked where he was going with my card he didnt answer. I told him with my baby in my arms he better bring me my card back asap and my money. He brought my card back and then had them give me my money back on my card. My mom came inside and complained to him that he had no right putting the money on the card. I left and went to the car because my baby was over being in the store. They then decided to give my mom the items for free. I could careless about the items that they gave for free to my mom. I am not eating it. All i asked for was some respect and an apology. I spend over $600 a month in the store and to accuse someone of stealing when the proof is in your face is beyond disgusting. I guess he was trying to call me irate because I am an african american female and a little person.
Sorry have to give it 2 stars. I used to love this store but it went down hill since they have been doing rearranging of items. You can never find anything since they moved all the stock all over in stupid places. The staff is mainly 20 year olds (or under) who goof off or roll their eyes if you talk to them. They always have a bunch of people standing around but only 2 or 3 lines open. No, I dont want to do self checkout in addition to packing my own groceries. A fellow shopper told me to try a different Shoprite in another town so I will take her suggestion.
While its not quite the optimal place to run and get your staple eggs milk bread and run out in ten minutes, they have a lot of groceries.. Personally Im not wild about any of the non-grocery departments (seafood,deli,produce,bakery)...Meaning I have not visited them. Dairy is ok.My conclusion is that its simply too large of a superstore for quality to be desireable. They cant even keep the place in order, theres some danger in the parking lot to be wary of; and of course yes, Marty, the seven foot tall roving robot that makes children cry (well, it gave me a turn, at any rate)..Its under the auspices of spill patrol but I know better...Marty is watching, beware.
This store in Bayshore is very very poorly run Managers are aggroant don’t care about customers and there deli department sucks never no help and I mean neverIf you make a complaint the managers ignore you or yes u to deathI worked for Pathmark and it was a pleasure to work with great manager wise up you are losing people to stop and shop
Its always good. But I must say I was a bit disappointed a couple weeks ago as I cook for a soup kitchen and wanted to do something nice for the holidays so I asked the manager if they could donate some hams and sweet potatoes to the kitchen, I understand they can only donate so much a year and this time of year Im sure they get alot of request, not upset they didnt, Im disappointed they just blew me off Ive been a loyal customer since they opened, sorry we cant would have been ok, jerking me around saying they hadnt heard from ownership, then ignoring my request to always call me to let me know after I made half dozen trios to check a polite response would have been NICE even if they couldnt. I am happy to say shop rite in Patchogue pulled thru and I was able to do a nice holiday meal for those less fortunate.
I like to shop early am before the crowds and was dumbfounded. What I went to shop for was not on the shelves. I normally shop at Hauppauge, and sometimes Commack, but happened to be in the area. Was disappointed, to say the least. The only good thing was beating the crowds. Ill stick to my other two. What a shame, because theyre in a prime location.
Word of advise: Stop moving your products around the store. Just when I think I have down where something is in an aisle you move it to another aisle! Why is the bread in aisle 9 now, the most congested aisle and what genius thought it was a good idea to put the cookies next to the frozen aisle where the bread used to be. You can visibly see other customers such as the elderly get aggravated when they cant find a product and have to pace up and down aisles. The employees dont even know where the products are now located. Stop changing the store, it was fine the way it was.
We love the prices and the people that work there. The guy Kenny was most helpful and we always look forward to seeing him, we always say hi to him and the others that work by the front registers . my one complaint is the wireless service feels like a bloclear has been turned on in the store so I cant utilize the shoprite app
The employees stay humble respectfully and work hard and doesnt seem like anything or any one is going to stop it the food there is good and every ones helpful and just seeing the ladies beautiful smile is something everybody i know want to come back to but we all know aldies is dry asf.i cant take a pic right now but yall catch me there often😉💯
The only market I know in Bay Shore area that carries most international food, they are always stocked even in the busiest holidays, great bakery, the produce section is my favorite, they have lots of options on the organic produce and prices are great. Very convenient.
I gave 4 because its horrible to go to a deli department and listen and watch an employee (J.P.) make a love connection with a customer. What could have taken a little while, took short of 20min. While we watched his co-worker efficiently, and calmly I might add, help a line of people, while he continued on in useless conversation. Because of Shane, you received 4!!
FIRE ISLAND PINES RESIDENTS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Id give it 0 stars if I could. Delivered about 200$ worth of stuff I did not order online then told me that I DID order it. Wouldnt you think Id know if I ordered 9 cashew chocolate milks? Dont even use that as have a visitor to the house that is allergic! Horrible customer service, frustrating to deal with, horrible store manager. No resolution and manager of store literally told us to just use the food. Complaining to credit card company now...Would have been much cheaper and much more pleasant in the end to have shopped at the Pines Pantry.
The last thing you need and want is gossip, which they do vry often. I was there a few days ago and the staff ( yong males and females) was gossiping about a particulart costumer and they even passed pciutures and text messages a bout this isterious woman!Also the bathroom is smelly and disgusting!
I just moved to this area and I used to go to shop rite by my old house all the time. I will never come back to this store again. I ordered cold cuts, I asked for sliced very thin and asked to see it before it was cut. He showed me a thin slice. I opened it up today, it is so thick I can’t even eat it or give it to my son. When you get a half lb or lb of cheese is supposed to be layered with a piece of plastic so it all doesn’t stick together, well not only is it so thick, it’s all stuck and mushed together. Most of the produce was rotten and there were flies every where. The place is dirty and disgusting. When I went to the register a young girl gave me a nasty look, rolled her eyes and asked “is this an ebt transaction”. It wasn’t, but what if it was!? It was insulting and I would have been mortified.
Always a looong line in deli. Meats arent the best and I come here because its close to my house. They always have bathroom tissue and paper towel on sale!! Not as good as the one in Uniondale. In the seasonal dept, they will have outdoor furniture and I purchsed a patio set and they tried to charge me for separate pieces when the boxes clearly started box 1 of 2. I would love to see better cuts if meat...
I am typing this as My wife and I standing in the deli line. Five people in back of us. Two people BOTH have sho rite shirts that the name on it is Spare. Must mean spare shirts wish they had more help. One guy is taking care of the pr orders other taking care of the customers. Both nice but more help needed. Here a while. SMH
It stinks plain and simply. The way the aisles are set up, they dont coherce at all! The food quality is just lousy. The sea food department..... my fish tank has more fish! The Shop Rite in Commack is the best one in all of Long Island in my opinion. The Bay Shore one is the worst!
Prices are lower than most other local grocery stores. They have decent sales. My only complaints are that they move item sections around too much! One week the bread isle is in one place the next in another etc.. Oh and least I forget they no longer have the deli staff that had a tenure there. They brought in all new people who are slower than slow and are not familiar with deli meat and cheeses. I ask for a pound of Boars Head Hard Salami and I end up with Genoa Salami. Very frustrating when they put the Hard Salami price on Genoa which is much cheaper salami.
The prices and food selection are competitive.This location has a full-service bakery, a full-service delivery, a full-service fish counter, a large produce section, a pharmacy, a dietitian, a bank and a coffee shop.The family that owns this location also has locations in West Babylon and Massapequa Park.
Sometime they dont have what your looking for when its supposed to be the sell item that week. An ur there looking for it the day the sell starts. I mean why bother. Sometime the staff is more worried about jk with each other then doing there job. Also 1 time we were there and the person behind the deli department was racist against my hubby which really hurt him, when i went to speak to a manger they said there wasnt one there that night. Which i know was a lie they just tried to cover up for that girl, plus my hubby didnt want me to say anything cause he felt bad. I was so upset for him.

For those who plan on working here, be careful. They have you working off the clock and when you go get your first paycheck they say they couldnt pay you because you didnt have a clock in code. They do pay you, but its very disrespectful. Horrible management in ShopRite at Bay Shore.
Everytime that we shop there we find expired product all over the store. Also, when you do online ordering they dont check for expiredProduct either. So they lost my business completely, will be going to Commack shop rite from now even thought its a about 15 minutes away and bayshore is about 2 min .
Not the best prices in the neighborhood and the managers are not very friendly to the customers. I went to pick up a MoneyGram I waited over an hour. the woman in front of me they apologized about 10 times I waited behind her for roughly 20 minutes more not one apology not one Im sorry nothing
Worst shop rite i have been to the employees are rude disrespectful they are too busy talking to hear you say excuse me so you can pass by to shop the deli is probably the worst service..why I ask if I come to shop there your employees are not courteous and very rude I asked one employee to tell me where I can find breadcrumbs and he doesnt even look at me just replies dont know not my department then ask another employee but he got upset that I took him away from stocking the shelves which he was only texting so excuse me I will never shop there again
I had a issue in a store I had to go to the president of Shoprite Melissa and the manager Rachael. I have to say they were very helpful and she listened to me when I explained my situation to her and Rachael.im very happy with the way things were handled.i was kicked out of a store for something I didnt even do.thank god I talked to them and they were able to resolve the issue

2022-06-12If you’re ordering cold cuts bring your lunch the line is ridiculous that helps situation abominable… I feel so bad for the two people that are back there… It’s every time you come in… Stop And Shop has a system that you can order and it’s made for you ahead of time… So much more convenient for a customer

2022-02-03The deli is the worst they do not know how to cut cold cuts they are also rude will stop helping you in the middle of your order and take care of some other unrelated problem instead of helping the customer .The cashiers are not much better they seem bothered that they have to ring you up .It really is the WORST customer service I have ever experienced! So pack your patience if you want to shop here !

2018-02-25The staff are friendly, respectful, and helpful. I usually find items sought for in a well-maintained clean environment. The baked items are often fresh in the earlier portion of the day. The produce appearances are favorable, but I have not noted the quality of many other items such as seafood and meats. The shopping center allows considerable parking when it is busy.

2021-12-24I was having a wonderful Christmas Eve until I ran into this Shoprite for a few items. I approached the self checkout lane and the frond end manager Short blond hair yells at me. Going forward there is a line here. There was not one person on line and at least two registers open She was standing with the store manager. I was so annoyed and taken back. I went back to her and told her how rude she was. She stated she was not rude and she has been doing this for 30 years. The cashier was also shocked and apologized for her action. I have been shopping in that store since the day it opened. Today was my last day

You always know instantly when entering thy front door only to be disappointed NO SANITIZERS DISPENSER EMPTY AS USUAL. Then I mentioned to customer service that SANITIZERS need to be filled there empty. Then customer service says, oh thats for maintenance. DURR

2022-01-02Big difference in customer service compared to West Islip and East Islip. I drive to those stores just because the employees are more helpful and least say hello during checkout. In Bayshore I feel like Im bothering them when they have to scan me out.
