Love this Shoprite in Commack! You guys need to go over to the Shoprite in Bay Shore and train them. Train them on customer service, keeping product stocked and how to provide the ultimate shopping experience. Oh and how to slice deli meats and cheeses. No matter how many times I ask for my cheese to be stacked so it doesnt stick together and it breaks apart when you get home I still get it the same. Today I came here and my daughter went in to get me American cheese I was hesitant from my experience at Shoprite in Bay Shore. How wrong I was no two Shoprites are the same or equal. My cheese was sliced and stacked to perfection and the guy who cut it put paper in between to keep it separated. You guys at Shoprite of Commack rock!
This is the dirtiest ShopRite Ive ever been to on Long Island. I went into the LR at 6 today when they open & it was filthy already. How is this possible???This also means that the employees who handle your food are using a dirty bathroom. THEN I went out the automatic doors & they were filthy too. Also-how is THIS possible if no one has to touch the doors???
Update Feb 2022. It SUCKS The app has been replaced with a website. Its quite a bit slower, however even worse is the search. Before in the app everything would come up now nothing comes up. Great example cream, now you get 3 results. None are light cream or heavy cream or even whipped cream. Honestly did anyone even test this before you changed your business. Fire whoever was in charge of this train wreck. From 2020 originally 4 stars. Love the shopping service. Just wish the vegetables would be better.
They have great sales. They have more of a variety than my local stop and shop. I love that they have signs that tell you about the produce which is very helpful! I dont have to wait on long lines. I used to come here all the time, but started going to S&S cause its closer and the gas rewards are awesome.
A consistently high shopping experience at this location near the Costco Warehouse. Its large, open and spacious with a wide selection of grocery products. It contains a full-service deli and bakery and large meat, dairy and frozen/refrigerated food departments. Also, a Dunkin location just inside the main entrance.
A better experience than I had 3 months ago, for sure! Construction is almost done and its looking good so far. Lots of paper goods and fresh produce. People are friendly and helpful. Best of all, all but 1 employee were wearing their masks properly and like 90% of the customers. I felt very safe there when I did not feel safe back in May. Very happy to be back at my store!
I usually love shopping here. The store itself is wonderful, low prices and just about everything is in store. I usually go here after work and as a nurse, after a 13 hour shift walking around in the store to see almost half the staff wearing their masks below their nose was disheartening. When I stated that they were defeating the purpose of wearing a mask, they said its hard to breath. Listen, nobody likes wearing masks. Yes, its hard to breath through them for everyone. We wear them to protect each other. Its much less difficult to breath through a mask then it is being on a ventilator. If your store wasnt the only one around me open late I wouldnt be going there for this very reason. Even the manager behind the desk kept pulling her mask down. I suggest some education on mask wearing is in order. Other than that the store is wonderful, clean and cashiers are kind. Educate your staff on mask wearing.
I came in for some 5 cents can recycling, and even the recycling site was extremely clean and all the machine was working. Wow! It was peaceful and everything ran smoothly. When going into the store for today dinner the place was again extremely clean, and very organized. It was as if one was heading into a Whole Foods with really great decent prices for the community. SHOP Rite I will make you or this site for offering best in environment in cleaniness and organization. Thank you for make your recycling site a Grade A plus plus! Wow. Also your customer service rep( store clerks), are the most friendliest. Wow thank you.!!!!
I usually love this store. Went tonight since the chop meat sale started today. NO Chop meat??? Went to get a package of ground pork, NONE?? Wanted shop rite sour cream. Had to ask someone as it was buried behind the Breakstone brand. Very disappointed shopping tonight.
I love this store. They wipe down your cart before you go in, they have arrows on the floor to help with social distancing and they enforce wearing masks. Their produce is almost always fully stocked and not too expensive. This is definitely my go to for a big food shop.
Shopping carts nowhere to be found and if you do there old and broken.. They need to invest in new carts ASAP. Same story every weekend, thinking about switching to Stop and Stop although a bit pricey but the 30-40 min ordeal looking for a functioning cart it well worth the switch.. same on the can can girls …
Huge store was overwhelmed at first. If youre going to save money make sure you look at circular for app clipping. Im 51 can get monoutonous. Worth clipping if needed to save money. I know my spending is much more conservative , not on sale dont buy for most part. My use ipad,👹) or Android 11 pad to see betterJust a suggestion is all 💸. Happy shopping all and be careful.
Wonderful staff.Diane, Barbara, Antwon, Sue, Justin Nick, are just a few of the people I come in contact with when I shop. I have been a nurse for over 50 years, and I have come in contact with all types of personalities...your staff really has it going on.I tell my friends; senior citizens as myself, shopping at the Commack Shoprite is a great mental health day for me.LOVE U ALL
Even though there were many shoppers, I was in and out in no time! It was easy to find that I needed and those that I could not find, an employee was very helpful. Only glitch was self-check. The coupon bin was not working properly so the person in front of me created a short wait. But, it fixed itself and we were on our way!
I came in to do my Thanksgiving shopping late night. Ive never been to this store before because I live in East Islip so it isnt close to me. I went specifically to do shopping for my 90 year old grandfather, he saved all his points for his free turkey (which is amazing that shop rite does things like this, huge impact on someone with a fixed income).I will be back to do my own shopping because I came across the nicest cashier ever. Larry youre a pleasure. Super friendly, upbeat and helpful. You made it worth the trip and I will be back.
Love this Shoprite! Prices are good, staff is helpful, friendly. Their baked goods are wonderful!!! Probably one of the best bakeries around. They have pudding cakes, napoleons, tiramisu, strawberry short cake (vanilla and chocolate), apple turnovers and so much more...all that will rival any bakery. Their prepared foods are tasty, large, INEXPENSIVE! The store brand, Bowl and Basket, is particularly good. Very reasonably priced and excellent taste and quality. Shoprite is a supermarket with a lot of extras...good food, good quality, good selection, great staff!!!
Has been very busy sone time hard to find parking. Seem crowed from the out side. Very simple shopping no long waiting in lines customer service excellent even at self check out, I had an unknown item call the self service cashier was at another line he used the best multi tasking skills I ever seen, excused him self from the other customer check the unknown item in the bagging area cleared the code and went directly back to the customer he was before the call showed. I believe everyone at the self check was very shocked and satisfied with that cashier determination and dedication to helping customers get through their check out process.
Excellent prices, spacious isles, fresh produce. I liked everything except that it was busy in the parking lot (not their fault), and that many fresh herbs only come in organic (or super small prepackaged and not-so-fresh-looking) containers. Fish section looked good and didnt smell at all.
Really bad service! I placed a large online pick up order. Due to the ongoing pandemic and people in our home being high risk, we try to limit contact as much as possible and do one big buy per month. We normally use Stop & Shop but our neighbor recommend that we try Shoprite for more variety in products and better prices. I scheduled my pick up for 6:30pm giving the associates ample time to gather our purchase. At 12:39pm I received a vm from a woman that was not clear and sounded like our order was delayed so I called and spoke with a girl that said if we got a vm, our order will be ready - great! At 6:30pm my husband went to the store, checked in and waited for about 25 minutes. A gentleman came out and said the order was not ready but would be at 8:30p, maybe 9p. There was no apology, no further info just a curt response. My husband returned home and waited until 8:30 and still no call. I called back at 9:30p and spoke with a girl that said, “oh your order was ready 15 minutes ago.” So, if we didn’t call, no one would have called us? My husband returned and was told that online pick up usually closes at 8pm and was given a cart with all the groceries thrown inside - even an apple pie with cans and bottles piled on top. Our veggies and fruits had dents and you can tell that there was just minimal effort. Also, over 14 items were labeled “out of stock” with no substitution, the items are everyday products (Ocean Spray Cranberry juice, grapes, butter, etc.) most likely are sitting on the shelves but whoever packed our cart, just didn’t care to look. This was a real disappointment and I will definitely not utilize this service or location again.
All the staff in the meat department are very friendly and helpful. Each person in this department always takes the time to help regardless of how busy they are. They were specifically helpful during the holidays with my questions about how to cook/cut the meat I wanted to purchase! I have had a much better experience at this location then other Shoprite locations on Long Island.
Great place to shop for vegetables, baked pastries, cereal , coffee & the most other needs for food shopping. Of course because of the current pandemic, you can not get Lysol spray nor Clorox wipes. There are disposable gloves & other sanitizing wipes. Recommend to go and check the wide assortment of items
This place has a wide selection of stuff and is a nice size. Everything in it is always so clean: the aisles, the shelves, the food court in it, the bakery, etc. The bakery has so many delicious treats. The employees are very helpful too. Its just a really great place to shop in.
Very satisfied with the store and store personal. The store is very large, for the older shoppers they need a rest area or chairs to rest on while shopping. I am 8O years old and I find it very hard also do to the one way traffic. DO TO THE VIRUS .ALSO A WATER BOTTLE STAND. ITwould also help. Thank you .
I enjoy my shopping here, I have being living on the area for nearly 2 years and this super market is nice. I dont like there meat selection to much but the cashiers and staff are super nice I lost my wallet there the other day and only noticed at the register after spending 1 hour there, when around the store and my cashier call security who had found it outside the store and safely store it and call me to let me know they had it. It was so wonderful
This is a nice sized supermarket. It has a great selection in all the departments, including bakery. The store is always clean and never smells. There is plenty of parking including handicapped parking. And the large doors are auto opening to allow passage of wheelchairs and walkers. There are powered ride on shopping carts for those who need them. I usually never have a hard time finding employees if I need help. The store is visible from Crooked Hill Road.I recommend this store.
Love this place clean nice and well-stocked only problem is they have to train their people in the advertising Department specially when it comes to cutting lox. smoke salmon for those that dont know. when you are paying $30 a pound for something you want an experienced person knowing how to slice it and package it correctly
Love the store hate the reno. I understand it is neccessary but cannot understand why managers are more concerned about unpacking then customers. God forbid you have to get something and they have to move.met the owner a few times. He is so friendly, courteous and sweet and hard working. His customers come first. Maybe his managers should take notes
Cashiers are supposed to respect customers privacy and information. I was shopping and when I went to pay, I was behind a woman who paid with an EBT card. I was shocked when I saw the young cashier checking her balance. This young man that I hope is now in the position is reminded to respect customers privacy and to give a better service! I am describing so they can help him give a better service. He is tan skin and bleach-blond and wears glasses!
Dont use their curbside pickup. Total lack of politeness towards customers, eggs were rolling around in cart and bread was at the bottom of the entire cartload (all mushed up). They also shorted us items and didnt tell us wed be shorted (we werent charged, just to be clear). Overall very disappointed in this service.
Not certain if my complaint should be lodged against management of this store or the clientele that shop there. The shopping carts ALWAYS have an assortment of garbage in them.Additionally a good many of the customers go down the isle in the wrong direction. At least 50% of the shoppers. We have been doing this for four months, one would think everybody would know the drill by now.I have shopped Shoprite of Port Jefferson, Selden, Hauppauge, and Plainview. These issues are not apparent there!
The Shoprite at home part of their business is terrible! After years of using the service with not a thing going wrong, this disabled woman will move on. While I completely understand that COVID has upended so much, after months they should finally have a proper system in place. The past several orders I placed were INCOMPLETE, although I was charged for everything! I then had to call and go over the entire incorrect order AND GO BACK to pick everything up all over again, and I dont drive! So using a service to make my life easier, has made my life more complicated, several times in a row. Dont use them!
Nice staff good location. Easy to see right off of Garret Place. Servicing Commack and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Plenty of parking and a wheel chair accessible entrance. Clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Daily food and drink specials. We will definitely be going back.
Closing the pharmacy with no warning, sent scripts to Walgreens and not asked if that is where I want to go. The staff was great there and know it was not on them this ball dropping. Last staff was rude and not helpful at all. They finally get good workers and close the pharmacy with a sign saying closed and go here for meds.
Current renovations have the store a bit of a wreck. Basic things are not stocked and the floors are torn up. Items that used to be one place are either missing entirely or relocated to some other rather illogical aisle. I hope the renovations make the mess worth it. Ill be shopping elsewhere until its cleaned up though.
Ever been to one of those grocery stores that just feels like theyve been slowly updating the displays since the 80s but not really renovating anything important? This is one of those places. For the area its one of the best, but I judge a grocery store by the quality of their bakery and I gotta say, those donuts arent exactly blowing my skirt up.
Best place for regular groceries. Produce is good, fish market ok, butcher not the best. I go here for my regular foods - the aisles - but not the outer spots like produce, fish, meat and bakery. That means I have to hit 2 stores, but if you want savings and tons of choices, you go here and then to a more specialty market like North Shore Farms for rest. But at North Shore Farms you dare not buy basic groceries because they are expensive and have a small lot - thats how they get you.
In all my years on this earth (75) never thought a grocery store would impress me. From the selection of items to the cleanliness of the outside & inside. I didnt think anyone could replace John, but Ryan is doing a fantastic job just with his mannerism & personality. Good job Mr. Greenfield.
We found EVERYTHING which we needHowever, there is ONE MAJOR CONCERN which needs to be addressed. There are NOT ENOUGH MOTORIZED SHOPPING CARTS for those of us who require them.Whenever we shop in Commack, either the carts are not around or they ARE NOT FULLY CHARGED.Otherwise, we happy with the Commack ShopRite.
I have loved this store since the day it opened its doors. Its clean and spacious, but lately their Produce section has been lacking. Several times I have purchased items only to get home and find that it was spoiled inside. I also had an instance where I brought some pre-cut pineapples and became ill after eating it. They really should consider securing the tops on the pre-cut produce. I hope someone in management will take note of this and make the necessary changes to bring this wonderful store back to 100%.
I would just like to thank ShopRites incredible pharmacy Staff. I had an emergency where I had came in with a horrible rash on my neck due to a bad reaction from some new perfume I had purchased, I immediately made my way to the pharmacy and one of their amazing staff members reacted quickly once she noticed I was in huge discomfort. She pointed me to the correct and exact over the counter medication needed to ease and get rid of my pain. Not only was she helpful in getting me the correct medication needed, but she was detailed in all the information given to me on my bad reaction. My rash was gone in just a few hours after taking the rite medicine. Once again Thank you for your kindness and attentiveness to the Pharmacy Staff.
Buyer beware. Sales prices are not always correct in the register. Sales person will tell you they have adjusted to the right cost just to get you off the line. Then you look at the receipt and the price isnt corrected. Not fair to the consumers. If you dont care about the customer then dont list it as a sale. Not the 1st time. Other locations dont deceive the clientele!
Dark, dirty, poorly staffed. Its clear they are not putting any money into store upkeep. Its been a shame to watch as this store has gone downhill over the past four years Ive been in the neighborhood. Only plus side is their selection of products, which is best in the area.
I used to shop here frequently. It was my favorite place to shop, particularly for kosher goods. However, as of today, I will NEVER shop there again. In a hurry to get to work, I accidentally walked out without paying for vitamins that were priced at $2.99. They claimed they were $7.99, but either the price sticker or bottle was not in the correct place, if that was the case. Regardless, they were 50% off the sticker price. Anyway, I bought 7 other items at checkout and was later stopped at the door by security. At first, I just complied and then I realized that while I was trying to use my phone in the store, I had put the vitamins in my pocket unconsciously. I immediately offered to pay for them and was told it was too late. In the past, when a cashier had forgotten to ring up an item, I always brought it back in the store to pay for it. Not to mention the amount of times theyve over-charged me for something and I had to waste my time going back to have it corrected, but I still shopped there and gave them a good review. Anyway, after all of this, they forced me to sign some kind of contract and are mailing me a $75 fine for an item that was marked as $2.99, whether the price sticker was wrong or not, the extra $5 doesnt make a difference, as theyre charging me $75! They made me sign something and threatened to call the police on me, if I didnt comply. They asked for my drivers license and passport, which they accidentally kept in their possession after I left. So, now I have to miss more work to pick up my identification cards that they held by accident. It will be the last time I step foot in a Greenfields owned store, period. Ill make sure the entire Orthodox Jewish community knows about it as well. Unreal. Also, I never was given the opportunity to buy the vitamins I needed and if they got their undamaged merchandise back, why the fine?? Worst management ever.
Good variety of everything.Horrible cashiers. Purposely ignore people. Speak to customers like they are annoying them while trying to spend money.I went to customer service before writing this. All they could do is shrugLook at the lines as you check out, tell me Im wrong
Clean store but do you have to change up your inventory every month, every time I come in its like all new brands and you play hide and go seek continuously moving items to new location. Every brand I used to come here for is now gone, so no reason to shop here any longer
You really have to go here even if only once ! Im sure youll be back ! Very wide variety of foods and the food self-serve bars are a thing to see! The best roast and fried chicken ! The best deli ! Not sure whats better the meats and cheeses or the staff ! Great place to shop !
32 ounce Flavored sparkling water 93 cents with deposit, row 7,,,,,grilled chicken from $2-3.59,East side row,,,good soft pears $1.79 s pound,,,,oikoes ttiplezero yogurt 32 ounce $5.49 plus tax, self checkout available, bottle returns outside West side ,,,,Trinity bless you.
Cashiers are ignorant and rude. A customer in front of me on line with her teenage son claimed that she needed to exchange an item while she was getting checked out. So she said she would run and get it and leave her son on line. Fine. The cashier finishes ringing up the rest of her items while she is gone. Then waited. And waited. And waited. The woman was not returning. Having to exchange or look for one more item is fine. But this obviously was taking too long. Literally 7 minutes passed of us just waiting. The cashier should have offered to ring me up in the interum. I finally asked her if she could ring me up. It was ridiculous to keep waiting for this woman. When I politely asked the cashier she was clearly annoyed at my request. The woman’s teenage son scoffed, as if I should have to wait while his mother completes her shopping. Usually one completes their shopping first and then goes on line. The fact that this customer did not follow the rules of common decency is of course not the cashier’s fault. However, the way the cashier handled the situation was uncalled for and unprofessional. She allowed it to occur. When I finally was forced to speak up for something that she should have offered, she was irritated. She called her manager over and said that I wanted to be rung up.In all this time, the woman still had not returned. Imagine. Then the manager reluctantly told her to ring up my items. Unaware of the situation, and reading the tone of the cashier, he automatically assumed that I was the problem. Then, at last, the woman returned. She had at least six different items in her arms. What a joke. She was taking her time selecting these items when the rest of the line was being held up.In Spanish (which I assume they thought I did not understand) the cashier kindly told her to not worry, that they will take care of her promptly. So this rude woman, the cashier treated with great customer service. (Could it be racism? I dare not say.)When finally checking me out the cashier was rude from the beginning until the end of the transaction. Despite her treatment of me, I remained polite.I did take my concerns to the customer service desk afterwards. The person I spoke with was understanding. However, I got the feeling that he was not really listening to the story.Ridiculous.
Great supermarket with a really nice fresh fish section and a top notch kitchen with ready-to-eat food. The store has a fresh salad bar, a fantastic sushi bar, fried and rotisserie chicken, a changing selection of chinese-style food, freshly baked pizza, made to order deli sandwiches, as well as a large menu at their grill. They even have a sizeable seating area to enjoy your meal. Its a really nice supermarket.
If I had to choose between shop rite, Walmart, or Food Bazaar which are my local grocers I would and definitely choose ShopRite over all they are truly takin the Covid-19 pandemic seriously. Let me break it down for you when you first walk in they spray your whole cart down with bleach and baths your handsin hand sanitizer. Then as you go about your shopping they are constantly cleaning and wwiping things products, shelves, equipment, rails, and doors finally time to pay so you go to stand 6ft apart clearly measured and labeled on the floor they even have made their aisles one ways. So back to check out before you out your items on the belt the wipe down and completely disinfect it then you can proceed then after you pay leave get to your car once you have emptied the cart/bugy/wagon the cart collectors come and give you hand sanitizer a couple disinfecting wipes. No other store has taken the same intiative as SHOPRITE. Thank you ShopRite for your diligence.
Why should I have to see if the entire fried chicken is in the container? On more than one occasion when I arrived home my whole fried chicken was missing the breast! Why cant they seal the container so others cannot remove chicken pieces. I assume that is the reason, or could it be the container is not being properly filled? As for their whole roasted chicken, the staff used to thoroughly cook the chicken, now I find chicken that has not been thoroughly cooked.I think its time to shop at a shoprite that has a better handle on the day to day operations of its store.
Love shop rite of Commack.... best service/customer care. Many great produces and products. The deli has so many choices of deli meats plus cooked meats, theres a little Chinese restaurant section for cook foods also with a sushi station then theres the grill station for daily breakfasts such as bacon eggs & cheeses sandwiches, grill cheese, many different types of chicken sandwiches etc. Theres a fresh bakery with any choices of cakes an bake goods. The meat & also fish department.......so much more I can say....you have to see for yourself.
The store that meets all your needs. Has everything you need for all the holidays, outdoor plans they have everything you need, tablecloths, tables, or the family dinner. Microwave all you can use to cook, they have potatoes, vegetables, meat all that can be cooked in the microwave. Call shop from home if you need some help and have someone come pick it for you.
THE EMPLOYEES ARE RUDE!!! It was closing time and for some reason the employees thought it was ok to shove and yell at people to get out, on top of cursing while they are yelling and ignoring customers complaints about their attitudes. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GROCERY STORE TO ANYONE
After multiple tries finally got slot to pick up order curbside half of things I ordered basic things like Goya rice beans bread spegati sauce did not get it just filled cart two days ago does not say out of stock on site very disappointed what a waste of time will not order on line again I am sure if I go in person things will be on shelf I will need to order from another store or go in person this is of no use to me
Its a grocery store, it has what I need. The parking lot is hard to get in and out of. They have displays/boxes right in the middle of where you line up to pay so it gets very crowded in that area vetween people on line, those boxes and displays, and people trying to walk from one aisle to the next.
The African-American checkout lady verbalized uguly slurs about my friend and I with the calling over of two other African-American guys as we were checking out (one of the guys eith the braids appear to work there as well). I had never experienced that at this store before today, Thursday, 12/7/2017 between 1:30 p.m. & 1:50 p.m. I am sure that she was making fun of us as Gay.. When I verbalized that we should call for a supervisor, she heard that statement and remained quiet. This kind of check out person should be told that her behavior is absolutely unacceptable & can cause a serious diminsh among customers. Respectfully
Largest Shoprite, 4 times they have had filet mignon on sale, I stop by on the way home from work (very convenient for me) at 5 and NO BUTCHER. Makes me so mad. I have bought rotten chicken on two occasions. So now I wont buy meat there. Id rather go to Hauppauge Shoprite where I have had no problems and their shelves are always stocked.
I like this place fresh cooked chicken, chinese an other food daily plus they have super huge salad bar .. This place is like no other shop rite ive been... The only reason i presonally didnt give it a 5 star is meat prices very high....thays all everything elsp great.

2022-05-18They always have what i need and they hardly change the store around like other stores which makes it easy for shoppers. I hate when a store changes things around it make it difficult to find your items. The best thing is their shelves, refrigerators and freezers are always full. I cannot think of any reason as to why i would go any where else.

2022-06-10Your pickup service has more cons than pros. On top of that the service is awful! 1. I like going to the commack location because it’s a lot cleaner than my local shoprite. 2. It’s easier for me to do online VS. Go to the store because of my newborn.Everytime I submit an order I put in the notes to “please call for substitutes” yeah; I do that because you guys substitute incomparable items when it comes to prices. I shop the circular and choose a $4.99 sale Lysol wipe container and if that’s sold out you substitute with the $10 one. I choose a $9 sale steak and as I’m putting my groceries in the fridge I assume that one must have been sold out so you chose a $18 dollar one. No matter how many times I ask for a call- nobody calls you- they just charge your card. The last few times, I’d call before I arrive to go through what items they subbed so I’m not surprised. So I’m stuck submitting an order, calling before I go, waiting when I get there, coming home, figuring our more discrepancies, leaving messages for them to call me back. My last experience I’ve dealt with Karen and now I’m done with Shoprite in Commack! Not worth it for me!!

2022-01-05The best supermarket for miles. Always some kind of discount and the regular prices are very good. The store has a great atmosphere. The family who owns it knows what they are doing. I would like to take this opportunity to let the greenfield family know their bakery department is not what it used to be. Many months ago the apple pie used to be filled with apples now it is mostly syrup. The chocolate pudding ring is no longer moist and pudding like. Just two examples of a disappointment. Please get the old baker back.

2021-12-19Figure management or staff service out for the “Shop from home” dept. real quick! 5 times our grocery order has been severely delayed without even a courtesy call or text??? We found out about the delay only after we have driven to the store for pickup….and are told that WE should call the store in advance??? Isn’t that your job to call us??? No reason for this at all, period! At least Stop and Shop would give advanced notice of a delay, and as an apology…offer a 25-50 dollar gift card for the trouble!

2022-05-07My favorite local supermarket - prices, selection, friendliness…they have it all!
