Not so good...compared to the Commack location, this place was a mess. The seafood area had a stronger than expected smell...not cleaned well ... the delivery section took forever to slice my order...carts in the parking lot all over the olace...overall it was subpar comparing the two locations
Is it too much to ask that the people working on the food you are too purchase, I. E. The Deli, wear a mask properly?! I went to the Deli and actually had some hope when I saw everyone wearing masks. Then the one guy who wasnt wearing the mask properly (below his nose), was the one that came over to get my order. I asked that he fix his mask so that it was over his nose and mouth, and he adjusted it. He took my order and went to pull the items to slice. During this time, he pulled his mask down so that his nose was uncovered. I told him to cancel my order since he was not able to wear his mask properly and walked out of the store.
This is not the first time I am complaining about the Deli Dept. The cold cuts are supposed to be Boars head. I get it and its slimy and nasty it is so gross wasting my money I will not go the Deli again. Secondly Saturday mornings are a joke with having enough cashiers and they think its funny. Dont get me started on the meat dept.
I have been going to this store for over a year weekly. Everyone has always been friendly and helpful until today. I could see immediately cashier Mary seemed to have an attitude. Was condescending and a bit rude. I am always friendly to the cashiers but this one was not at all friendly. I believe if you dont like your job find another instead of taking it out on the customers.
The experience shopping here was a major disappointment. The store was clean and well stocked however there I felt there was some deceptive marketing as I found items placed in sale areas of the same brand that was advertised that were not on sale. Also this concept of downloading digital coupons on your member card is absurd and like before the coupons should apply if you swipe your member card at checkout. What happens to customers that are not digitally savvy or dont closely observe when items are checked out and pay more? They pay more and thats not right. The lady managing all the cashiers was rude, never apologised and kept trying to prove her own point when I talked about deceptive marketing. Shoprite this needs to change.
I like shopping there because it is a convenient location for me. The staff is friendly. Good prices and good meat and produce selection. The one thing that really makes me mad is all the people parked in the fire lane. There are always at least five cars parked there, the security guard is right there and does not say anything.
Like what I wrote for the Shop Rite of Bethpage, they have everything you need for every day cooking. Even more if you want to get elaborate. You may pay a little bit more but they most likely will have it. It is always well stocked except paper products because people panic but they do stock it when they can. Its always clean and I never worry about walking in because of the virus. People are very helpful and courteous especially when I shop because I do turn into Mr Magoo. Thank you Shop Rite I will continue shopping at you business.
These people do not care if you are medically exempt from wearing a mask. They don’t care if your doctor says it could kill you, or what kind of medical breathing issues you have. They will approach you with security to try and intimidate you & make you afraid & tell you they don’t care what your medical issues are, COMPLY OR ELSE! Horrible!! I went there two other times without a mask MEDICALLY EXEMPT with no issues but this time the older woman harassed me with the security guard to intimidate me and told me it didn’t matter what my medical issues were which is DISCRIMINATION. They LIE and say it’s LAW when there’s NO MASK LAWS in Long Island NY. HORRIBLE!!
Plenty of parking to start! As you walk in a few grocery teasers are displayed but what stands out most is the sanitary stationary to disinfect the cart before you get started. Once inside a full array of fresh fruits and vegetables are on display. This leads you into the organic section of food. A little further down are where the prepared meals await from Teriyaki Chicken all the way to stuffed shells, premade in small proportions. Adjacent to that are the cheeses the roasted whole chickens and the deli section. All this just in isle one. I forgot to mention when you walk in to your left is their customer service help desk. Venture further in and your grocery aisles are fully stocked. Towards the back you will find some of the freshest packaged meats. Freshly cut steaks, center cut pork chops, boneless chicken breast all prepared by their butcher department. A bakery section is also on hand. Once your finished your purchase and your exiting, I think the coolest thing is always be available to help the community. Along the wall they have a board where you can advertise. Maybe your selling a car or offering a service you can post it on the board. Great place to shop and dont forget to sign up for the rewards membership. Its free wait let me say it again ITS FREE and you get a ton of discounts just by becoming a member. Hope this helps anyone that will stop in.
Used to love this place, been coming here for the last 3 years, since I moved to the area. Clean, well stocked, most of the employees are very friendly, good sales. However, the last 3 times I was overcharged. Items were on sale but charged higher price, so now I have to keep checking what price they are charging when scanning.
The best part is the music!!!They have classical music playing in the produce & deli section when you first walk in & disco & 80s in the rest of the aisles!! Its impossible for me to NOT sing along!!! Also very clean-beginning with the carts. Excellent selection too....
TRUCK DRIVERS don’t deliver to this facility if you have a sleeper and a 53’ . this place is suited for 48’ and single drive axle day cabs, at best. It’s horrible for deliveries. Very narrow and small barely any space to maneuver. Plus you have to drive thru the clients entrance. With their parked cars inches away from being wrecked by your trailer as it swings around to make a hard 90D. Not to mentioned the cars that pull out as you’re angling your truck/trailer. This place has both too many vehicles and foot traffic. Horrible experience. I can’t explain in this review the hard 90D angle you must do in order to dock into a door, but I will summarize it to you like this, look at the red wall and see ALL the damages it has from trucks running into it while trying to park in this small and narrow mayhem, AKA Shoprite, look at the bent yellow poles, Look at the fallen fence. Look at the 3 posted signs banning a specific truck company from being on their premises. (not SWIFT) in a summary stay clear not worth it. You may loose your truck or clean driving record.
I really like this Shop Rite. They have a great selection of items and for the most part have what I am looking for. My one gripe is the door to the bottle redemption area. It says it’s automatic door, but I still have to push it open. This could make difficult for the disabled and some seniors. Personally I think it should be a sliding door. If they’re able to fix than I’d be more than to give them 5 stars.
I had a amazing cashier named David who helped me today. He is always very courteous and helpful. I mentioned to him he has very long arms when he put my bags in the cart without moving from behind the register. He replied its a blessing. He is most humble and most respectful. He is truly an asset to shoprite He is truly a pleasure to have him help me. Thanks David. & Thank you shoprite for hiring such a great cashier
Best music played throughout the store it makes you want to shop longer, friendly staff lots of lanes open all the time. My only complaint is the shopping carts in the parking lot, there is no place to put them and they can be everywhere making it hard to park. But it is a good store. Just do something about all the cart all over the place!
Always a good experience there and everything is easy to find. -1 star, however, because lately theyve been running out of baskets and Im a light shopper, so I never use a shopping cart. Also, Ive seen about 2 employees that cant at least PRETEND that they care for just 2 minutes of your time. But its not that serious because thats only happened to me 2-3 times ever since the ShopRite opened, so its not common.
I like the Shoprite chain. .this particular market needs to work on SEVERAL things. #1 Sale Items. If I get my weekly circular in the mail Wednesday, Im sure the market also is aware of these items. So why on Sunday morn 1st day of the sale very few of the circular items are out on the shelves ready for me to purchase them?
Normally my visits are great. However tonight the cashier was complaining about wanting to get out of there & making remarks about people shopping too late. I took offense to that remark which was said during my checkout. I work 16 hours a day & rushed home from the city to make it there before closing. I dont think she realizes my shopping pays her salary....
Formerly Waldbaums Supermarket, incredible selection of everything, and never really long lines at checkout. It seems like every register is always staffed which is very lacking today at supermarkets. Fruit and vegetable section is huge and the quality is always very good.
I love this store. Nice staff and very helpful... Kosher selection is OK... Used to have more glatt kosher foods but itll do. They do carry kosher Haribo gummies there so that is a good thing for kids and myself. Always fresh produce as well and the organic stuff isnt priced ridiculously stupid high as well. Enjoy...
Went here it was very icy in parking lot in almost slipped and fell. Called shoprite cause all I could think about is the elderly falling asked to speak to the manager. Was put on hold manager did not pick up a customer service agent did this was about 8am I told her and I quote its not our responsibility I think she might need to go to customer service 101 instead of telling me Ill let the manager know so he or she can call who is in charge of the parking lot she tells me not our responsibility. Disgusting I will not be back nor will I shop at any Shoprite anymore.
Just completed my shopping and went to courtesy for a rain check for and item that was 2 for 4.00 - Dana at the desk insisted that there were a lot in the computer -I explained to her that I already checked out - I told her there was only 1 out - she called dairy and moved on to the next customer and left me wait - I demanded to speak to the manager Jeff - again I waited for him to call her back instead of coming up front to help me - I work all week and my time on the weekend is valuable- this store is the worst ShopRite ever - I advise everyone who shops here to go to the ShopRite in commack next to Costco they are always accommodating and well stocked - I’m sorry that they replaced our Waldbaums - they suck
Havent been to this location in a few months and was disappointed. I downloaded the shoprite Mobil app so I could scan and shop but it didnt wont. Kept telling me I was on their wifi but the app kept saying please exit and install again. Im not there for the wifi. The new shopping carts are horrendous. Too big and bulky. Sure you can fit more products into it but hard to maneuver around.Produce dept was ok. Salad selections were the pits. Does anyone check expiration dates anymore?Meat dept seemed good
Personally witnessed their useless manager make no attempt to help several customers in need, very limited variety, lots of expired products still out for sale (cheese, produce), useless cashiers with no supervision. Drive the extra 10 minutes to a store that is worth shopping at
I find this Shop Rite okay. Ive had problems with the Deli department, I give them my order and they have messed it up a few times. I even write down exactly what I want and hand it to them which I did on my last visit again and they still messed up on two of the items and I just ordered four. (So I would advise you check your order. ) I gave back 2 items to have them give me what I asked for and again wrong stickers were on them. With SR card if item is marked wrong you do not get the item on sale, which is the problem when they mess up. Plus me writting exactly how much I want, brand and price you would think they would get it right smh...
I dont believe for a minute that this place got a 4.2 star rating as of this review without some nonsense going on behind the scenes. A little over a year of this place being my closest grocery store, and Ive nicknamed it the store that hates its customers. Paid stickers on everything you buy, youre not allowed to weigh your own produce, the staff seems about as interested in helping as they are in watching paint dry, the bakery selection is laughable, and the deli staff is consistently underwhelming. This store cares so little that theyve had periods of time where all the crummy coupons on the back of their receipts had been long expired by the time theyre printing them. Its a stupid detail but everything about shopping here follows that kind of carelessness. Prices, produce, cleanliness, and location try to make up for it, assuming boxes havent been crushed and frozen goods havent been left to almost thaw before finally being put in the freezer, but sadly its not enough. I highly recommend going to another grocery store nearby. The extra distance sucks but at least you dont have to feel like a second class citizen or a thief every time you do groceries.
It seems I happen to visit this location when it is evening time, usually after being at the nearby Tanger Outlets. I can usually find what I need, like emergency baby food or formula. The prices for ready-to-feed formula are not very low, but what can you do if you are in need. I can sometimes find rotisserie chicken if its not too late. The store seems pretty clean and well stocked, and most of the people are friendly or helpful if needed. The location is good and they often have weekly deals in the entrance vestibule, like Entenmanns or 1-liter seltzer.
I needed to know if I had to shop before I traveled. They said they were open on Christmas Day and I relied they would be.On Christmas Day, at noon, I called to determine their hours and no one answered.Their inability to fulfill fundamental commitments to the community they serve speaks for itself. They profoundly disrupted my holiday.Dont worry... Ill get even.
The managers in this place are useless and rude, purchased a item and realized it had been expired went to get a manager and was quickly dismissed with no apology and just went on to talk to his fellow mate that heavy set boy in customer service needs a attitude adjustment and the manager martin needs to work on his customer service skills because it was not there that day.
I wanted to return something and on the receipt it clearly said merchandise may be returned within 30 days of purchase with original receipt 7 days for perishable items I brought the item and they charge me for the wrong price so I wanted to return it but the person in the front didnt let me. Its really dumb how someone wont let me return an item that wasnt on sale when it supposed to be. They should at least give me the amount difference which they didnt. They are very sexist and racist and IM NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN, THIS IS MY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
Although the staff helped me find the tahini I was looking for, the poultry section was underwhelming in variety and smelled badly. The store isn’t organized well either, dividing “healthy” options out arbitrarily and keeping “Italian” totally separate from the other “International” options.
Clean, convenient, great employees! My ONLY complaint is that the produce (bags of salad) are ALWAYS WILTED....ALWAYS. It is a great disappointment that this is a CONSTANT problem. Plz look into this. Hate doing all my shopping @Shoprite only to have to go to King Kullen for salad. Brian in fresh seafood dept is awesome & Manager Larry (nice man)👍🏻
If I could give this place zero stars I would. Employees are rude when you ask where items are and are annoyed you are bothering them. They don’t know and just say it should be down there somewhere.Selections are limited and on several occasions I’ve had to return meet because it was spoiled. Place is dirty and they’re usually out of the “sale” items that got you there to shop. Other items are overpriced compared to the competition.
Large selection of Italian food and products in aisle between produce and deli. Sale items are well marked. Cashiers work hard and lines are not too long during peak times. Large selection of take home meals that serve one or two. Traditional deli salads are unremarkable and ShopRite brand deli cold cuts are adequate. Bottle return machines often have a line and patience is a virtue while waiting for a bottle return machine to be repaired or emptied. Many shoppers park in No Parking zone in front of store clogging two way traffic and drivers in lot may have failed their first few driver ed road tests. Their cart man Donald is charismatic and a fixture in the community.
I would not recommend the bakery at this location. I bought a cake for my moms 95 birthday and the label and saleslady said chocolate cake with chocolate pudding inside. When we cut the cake it was white cake with strawberry filling. It was wrong obviously and so sweet practically inedible. By the time I contacted them she remembered the cake but said the label was wrong and they could do nothing for me. VERY ANNOYED a 25 dollar cake for a 95th birthday. Come on at least give a credit.
I love shoprite and have been to 3 locations ( Massapequa, West Babylon and Deer Park. This location has the friendliest staff by far. They go out of their way to treat you with respect and make you feel welcome. Especially the deli department. I go out of my way to visit this location.
I use WIC for some of my groceries. WIC office gave very detailed instructions and helped me create my grocery list - as well as provided me with a reference booklet AND I did my own research to make sure that the items I selected are all eligible to be purchased by my checks. I also split everything up by check and arranged it so that the cashier could ring me up as quickly as possible and no one behind me would have to wait... well they had to get a manager to do the transaction and this manager said that my cheese did not qualify! My check clearly states 16 oz WIC cheese and the booklet explains that the cheese can be sliced or blocks (excluding cracker cuts) - ANY SIZE PACKAGE as long as it adds up to the amount written on the check (so I could get a 16oz package, or two 8oz, etc) ... I got two 8oz packages and the manager absolutely would not let me complete the transaction. I asked for a store manager and she would not allow it either - she would not allow me to speak, would NOT look at the WIC official booklet with the rules, she said she had one of those as well and it did not say any size package.. I had it opened right in front of her and she would not look. She berated me in front of a line of people and would not let me defend myself. FOR SHAME SHOPRITE! I am a 26 year old single mother-to-be working as hard as I can and no one should EVER be treated the way that I was treated here. Will never shop here again (yes I have money to pay for other groceries that are not covered by WIC)
Was just there doing a shopping, and I was very disappointed with the customer service. The front end supervisor some kid that could be not more than 17 years old was called over because I had a discrepancy in the price up 2 cases of water, it was listed 2 cases for $5 but it rang up each case 5.49... I asked the kids if you can go take a look at the Shelf because I know what I saw and I bought that particular brand of ShopRite water because of the price. He told me no he was too busy that he knows for a fact that the price was 3 for 11. I was not going to pull up the line and go run back myself because there was three or four people behind me give me that Blank Stare, so I just told him to take off the water so with no further Ado he said whatever and took the water off my cart.. said to the kiss you fix it and walked away. I had just spent $120 and I felt like it was wasted even though I had product for my money because of the poor customer service from a supervisor. There are several of the supermarkets in the area next time Ill drive the extra mile and maybe my patronage would be appreciated

2022-04-20This past Saturday my son went to ShopRite of Deer Park and bought a few things including some cut flowers. He made it to his vehicle when the security guard called out yo you stole! He then asked my son for his receipt which my son still had in his hand thank goodness😀 my son walk the security guard back into the store to confront the cashier that made this claim; when I tell you the color off her face from pure embarrassment words cannot express. We will not be shopping there to support this community any longer it’s a shame that we’ve gotten to this point of life so low. It will cost them business and anyone that I speak to I will make sure the story goes on shame on you ShopRite! Very poor judgment.

2022-06-28They very racist/judging me by style goth look saying the store is closing clearly 6 pm and the store close at 11 pm trying to get me off line fast as possible even tho I had less the 10 items alot less than everyone in the store would got off line alot faster if was not being harassed! customers are being very rude and racist as well i.e just saying by description half of them are white american conservatives in the store and that work there. since people made it a issue Im Hispanic with a goth look I had to give a full and fair description I was very alert person obviously feel the racial tension clearly how I treated the whole time I was treated on line like honestly I really want the number to the to the managers/boss I was treated hell even get a hold of the local news! No person of color/somone with a different look should not get discriminated its 2022. There was a white tall skinny man working at cashier saw I drop my wallet and took it before I can go back and grab it!

2022-04-04Lots of items on shelves are expired. My routine is to check expiration dates before I buy. Big problem if expired food is on shelves for sale. And one time I called customer service about it and they told me they had to check the cameras lol…like I have nothing better to do then call to replace an expired peanut butter. Also the supermarket is a mess and doesn’t seem to be getting better. How long does it take to reorganized…..time would be better spent making sure food is sellable and not expired.

2022-07-03Are you serious that I have to go to a different store to get a refund?? What because I was visiting a different area does that mean I have to drive over 25 miles for a refund? The price of gas you figure you be a little accommodating.

2022-05-20This place is disgusting. The fruit is always rotten and the meat will stink when you bring it home. I can’t tell you how much time is wasted returning rotten food. This place needs to be shut down it’s a health risk.

2022-06-12Awful. Came at 9pm on a Saturday and the staff were all extremely rude and dismissive as if we were inconveniencing them. All except LaTavia behind customer service, besides her they were all out right rude with nasty attitudes.

2022-07-04Bought ground beef and it was rotten. Worst of it all, I think they knew because the color was so red outside and in the inside brown and dissolving.

2022-03-25Sadly, I know times are tough, but you must move everyone out of seafood. You can add your comment below, but it would be better to make some actual improvements.I was just there the other day for the first time, my seafood purchase was old and not at all fresh. The employee knew and handed to me with delight. I will never return to this ShopRite ever, I give you my word about that! Gross. As I write this I see someone left a similar comment and yet it has still not been addressed. Sad

2021-11-16This place never improved, even after they bought our Waldbaums. To be honest they can make the following improvements:1. Stop selling Purdue chicken, and offer a better variety of cuts. Good luck finding bone in skin on thighs.. A far better brand is Bell& Evans, which is also packaged better.2. Stock a better produce department. Many time they dont even have wide enough variety of herbs available.3.Hire better employees. Yesterday evening I witnessed a crazy black woman screaming at the manager, saying I dont care if the cops come and arrest me, when he told her to leave the store. Low class people will drive customers away. She stated that she was an employee! I hope they fired her. Finally, the seafood department needs fresh fish. A dehydrated eyeball is a clear indicator that the product isnt fresh.Disappointed
