The deli department is awful. You stand in line to get waited on and there are about 6 employees working. Not one acknowledges you standing there. Your waiting for at least 7 to 9 minutes and finally someone says can I help who is next. That is only after 6 other people join the line. Poor customer service. I never have this problem at anyone other Shop Rite except this one. I did complain to the manager previously, but today I was in a hurry. It looks like this is not going to change so I will let corporate know.
I absolutely/ positively LOVE LOVE going to Fishkill ShopRite. I’m at this location for work 2-5 times a day. I always leave this store happy and in a good mood. The staff here is so personable/knowledgeable/ friendly. I’m talking from the cart guys to the deli guys and everyone in between. You can tell this location has great management because the same people have worked here for the two years I’ve been coming. The staff definitely go out of their way/ above and beyond. Three days ago I left a great review for stop and shop and unfortunately things went back to being horrible there. Keep up the great work fishkill.
I always enjoy shopping here. Prices are very good, staff are friendly, and most importantly, the finest sales of them all. I had to drop a star since I had a couple of minor issues with this location. Everyone has their opinion for sure, but one of my experiences was using the deli app as my order, that took me 10 to 15 minutes late to my scheduled pick-up. Im sure that the staffing at the deli department looked like theyre short on staff. But after all they were able to get my deli order. Overall, great store.
I asked the meat worker of the meat department for some ox tails. He said that he just came In it would take up to half an hour. He had to set up the machine and all. I said I would wait. He came back sometime later with 5 packs of ox tails, while he stood there I popped the plastic and smelled the meat, because it looked brown instead of red. The meat was so spoiled you could smell it through the package. I asked to speak to the manager and he stated that he was the manager. 6 a m in the morning and I am very offended and hurt by his actions. I asked if he would feed this to his own family.... No reply. I cant help but to think, because I am a black female that this is what I was given.May God be with him.
It was horrible..its 95° I WENT in to buy water on sale and forgot my coupon in the car..I asked the cashier to call a manager to activate a digital coupon as I do not have the shop rite app. The cashier says she could not do that.. I have one leg with no muscle from an accident..the cashier had me walk all the way out to my car to get the paper coupon which I had forgotten..when I got back to the register the manager was there to activate the digital coupon that the cashier said I could not do...I am sick of shop rite..bye
Like any other ShopRite location, the store is clean and organized, featuring the same items youd find at any other location. Never a bad bet to find standard items you need and a place to get some groceries. Prices are absurdly low but arent outrageously high. Its convenient and doesnt break the bank.
Great medium-sized grocery store, good selection - especially of organic, gluten-free etc. - and prices are reasonable. Go after 6.30PM and there are a few managers specials (yellow stickers) reducing price of bread, vegetables. Staff are always friendly. Usually very little wait time and checkout.
I had two things in my basket that I didnt purchase because their were so many people in the store I left. The line to cash out started at the designated wait line and continued past the refrigerated area All the way to the back of the store where the meat cases are. Most ppl were not 6ft apart and if I something from either of those cases, I would have had to go in between a customer who was lined up and waiting to check out.
Not my usual grocery store. Stopped in to pick up a few items for my mother ahead of a snowstorm last night. Even late in the day, after a major holiday, the store appeared clean and well- stocked. Didnt see self-checkout, which surprised me, but perhaps I missed it. 4 express lanes helped as the store was quite busy for 5p on a Saturday night.
This is specific to my visit on 12/16/18, really close to Christmas. The staff was amazing today. Not only were the shelves fully stocked this Sunday, but the cashier lines were unbelievably short and service at the cash register, as usual, was with a smile. I was expecting a mad house and had the best experience shopping there to date. Somebody is really organizing and training thetstaff beautifully. Of course everyone on staff today gets the real credit for keeping things running smoothly this holiday season. Thanks!
It was a fantastic place to visit, the deli food was amazing, and the cashiers are friendly and cooperative. Customer service is the highest quality. When I went to do a quick shopping trip, I was instantly catered for, and I always go here instead of Walmart and Hannaford.
I really do appreciate the people who work here. I needed help finding a product that wasnt on the shelf. She went in the back looked and came out with an answer. Very helpful! But truthfully the people I appreciate the most are the hardworking guys out gathering the wagons. In all kinds of weather pouring rain summer heat and freezing winter days, theyre out there doing their jobs and it seems, always with a smile.
I know this is a small store, but is often needlessly out of stock on items. The staff is almost always very nice. ShopRite seems to always have confusion among customers about coupons and backups at registers over coupons are common. ShopRite needs to look at this issue to see of there is a better way of putting things on sale. Consideration should be given two doing away with coupons and replacing this system with sale prices for all customers.
I came here to spend 100$ on balloons. I asked the woman at the bakery if they did balloons there and she rudely told me “you walked right past them when you walked in the door”... I waited at the florist department and no one in sight came to help, not even the employees stocking veggies right next to me asked if I was being helped. The courtesy counter paged someone to help me in floral and I continued to wait 10 minutes, no one came. It is 11am on a Thursday. No wonder why this shoprite has such a low rating.
Worst grocery shopping experience anywhere. Very crowded layout. Employees stocking shelves with huge dollies in aisles at peak shopping times have zero regard for letting customers by them. Very few check outs open and cashiers are in no hurry to check anyone out. They act like you are inconveniencing them if you dont bag your own food. Parking lot is laid out horribly and trying to park is horrendous. Worst of all is their sales. They do run some great sales, but beware. Read very carefully, because every sale has a trick to it. For instance, great price on cherries last week, but be careful, because if your bag of cherries weighs more than the pound limit of the sale, you get charged the outrageous Shoprite full price. They also put sale items out in the stores typical sale spots, but many are not on sale all week. Only 2 or 3 days of that week. This is not clearly stated on the sales display. Some sale items have a minimum purchase requirement, while others need their super coupon from the sales flyer. None of that is clearly posted where the sale is displayed. Be sure to watch every item rung up. They regularly do not charge the sale price. If you dont catch the error at the register, good luck trying to go back to the store and get anywhere near their customer service counter. On top of all that - their prices are ridiculously high compared to the local W super store - which - by the way is larger, has a better selection, clearly stated prices and super fast check out. When I say higher prices, I do not mean a few cents here and there. Im talking an average of $1.00 - $2.00 difference in price on most things. Example - I recently I bought a bag of roasted peanuts at W for $1.98 same brand, same size at Shoprite was $3.29!! That is just one example. Shopping at Shoprite is a very aggravating experience all around. I will not be sucked into shopping there again by their so called sales their weekly flyer in my mail. There is way to much deception and stress involved. Buyer beware!
Good produce. Has a great assortment in the meat department. Has a lot of non-grocery things (socks, pajamas, sheets, outdoor furniture, etc...). Waiting times on line arent too bad. Avoid Sundays if possible. Its bedlam! I wish they had self checkout as it would be so much faster when you only have a few items.
This particular shop rite is usually very well stocked and has a great deli and olive bar. Their butcher is amazing and always willing to help with selecting cuts and portions. Whether it be beef, pork, chicken, or fish and the customer service is about as good as it gets.
The store lay out and the item distribution/ location will make you crazy. They have milk situated in different places as a marketing strategy. Nobody has that kind of time. If you are looking for bbq sauce, they have different brands in different isles All over the store, the same thing for juices...
My 88 year old mother shops there most mornings. She was in there one day a couple of weeks ago to pick up a rotisserie chicken. When she went to pay a person who worked there told her she had to go to the back of a very long line. There wasnt an express lane and they, apparently, dont have a self check out. She put the chicken down and left the store very annoyed. This is ridiculous. Isnt there an express lane or two in the store?
Sale price still on item..Have to get 2 managers involved to get the lower price still on item. Item was meat. Assoc running front end said she had no authority to honor the lower price still on package. Good customer service would have just marked down and honor l lower price not argue with me and make me wait for manager. What sets retailers apart is Good Customer Service. Did get for lower price but should not have to wait for Mgr. Should have been taken care of by front end assoc. This is NOT good customer service
In the evening, you must have good patience and personality when you come to this supermarket because you may encounter someone who is very unkind, especially in controversial issues, not to give you a good face. There is no patience and bad attitude. There is no explanation. Everyone needs to be careful. And if I go shopping during the day, I think the service there is good 🖐The overall quality of the supermarket in Hannaford is relatively good 👑
I am thoroughly impressed. They have locally grown produce, organic cold cuts and cheeses, BPA free food containers (especially on the go salad containers), and a very large aisle of organics including a wide variety of food other stores do not have. This store makes me happy. No complaints here.
It serves its purpose.I dont like grocery shopping at all, but this ShopRite makes me want to never do it again. Its dirty and the staff is less than friendly and its always full of boxes and messy. Poughkeepsie ShopRite thinks because they did a remake that it solved their problem, they are just as messy and staffing is cold and unfriendly, hence why I guess they have ten self check-out registers. Next step ordering in line from Aldis.
Service here is great and friendly. They don’t always have all the produce that I need. Sometimes they run out. If you go to the seafood counter, double check the description and price. I made the mistake of not doing so and ended up getting a tag that said small lobster for $40.19 and I actually had gotten pre cooked small shrimp. I went back a couple days later after I noticed and they refunded the difference. That’s the only reason they aren’t getting five stars here.
I dont know if he was the manager or something but one of your employees mad funny when I was talking to him at the vending machine and about some old man that took forever to get the bucket back in, some of the areas in the store smell funky when it hot and I wish yall had open bathrooms not that one person gotta wait stuff, got decent stuff to eat.
Their produce always has issues with it. And I can not believe they allowed people to bring their dogs in the store! That is gross and disgusting! Animals INCLUDING the seeing eye dogs should never be allowed into any establishment where food is present. Their are others who can be allergic such as myself regardless of breed, animals can use the bathroom anywhere they chose, and their hair gets all over food. Highly disturbing. I dont think I will shop here anymore. Im going back to aldis where prices are reasonable & they do not allow animals in their store. It is not a good look for any business that has food to allow that. Pets are never going to be people and need to stay home especially in this weather.
If you like to use coupons then this is the place for you. Typical shopping center with your deli, bakery and butchery. Waiting time is not as bad compared to most places. Its in a nice plaza with a pizzeria and chinese food spot and a bunch of others. Come take a peek and try it out.
Just deleted my 4 star review after meeting the seafood manager. Asked him a simple question and his answer was unprofessional and rude. My question to him was are the mussels fresh to which he replied yes we get fresh seafood daily. My response was well Ive bought mussels from here that were bad before so I dont want a repeat and also let him know that I am a chef to which he replied good for you. Ive also bought crabs which I had to throw away as soon as they thawed out because they were bad. I will never go to a shop rite again after this experience.
I used to love going here, despite difficult parking, and frequent long lines at the register. I don’t think I will continue to shop here anymore. The staff is great, but I was in yesterday and they had no frozen spinach. Nothing. They didn’t have green giant, they didn’t have shoprite brand. They didn’t have the 10oz boxes, they didn’t have the 20oz bags. They were completely out-and the guy that was stocking vegetables saidctheyve had a hard time getting it in -since New Years! It’s a freaking frozen vegetable! A basic food staple. This isn’t an obscure hard to find ingredient...regarding produce, The herbs and scallions are almost never stocked, and I frequently have to ask someone from produce to go in back and check if they have it. It involves me waiting around while They look for it. It’s not worth it anymore. I miss the old grand union on main st. I guess I’ll have to go to keyfood in beacon or Adams in wappingers
Honestly I am tired of this place. I used to go to aldi all of the time until one time we got bad produce. Which is the main reason I stopped shopping at shoprite for the longest of times. I can not explain how UNACCEPTABLE the quality of shoprites produce & meats have been. I am tired of wasting my money. I just bought peppers from this shoprite earlier today. All of the onions were completely black and molded. And soft. And the two peppers I bought earlier had mold in them. This is just disgusting. Honestly if I could sue for the amount of times I have had terrible quality from this place I would . the cilantro AND scallions are ALWAYS questionable. I do not know where these people get these products from. But once again it has turned me off from shopping here. Doesnt help their prices are ridiculously expensive. And yes I have pictures of the rotted and molded food. Also note to other shoppers. YOUR DOG IS NOT A FREAKING PERSON IT IS A PET AND PETS STAY AT HOME! PETS SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED IN THE GROCERY STORES PERIOD! SHOP ONLINE OR LEAVE YOUR DOGS AT HOME WHERE THEY BELONG! BECAUSE IF THE BOARD OF HEALTH CAME I DOUBT YOU PEOPLE WOULD PAY THEIR FINES! NO RESPECT!
I gave only 4 stars simply on customer service. It is outatanding here. I dont care for this store simply because like the location on north plank road in newburgh this location lacks a lot of options and choices and selection compared to the new windsor (vails gate) & woodbury locations.I think if the store was updated a little bit, and the signs for each aisle were way better & more detailed (example the aisle for beans doesnt even say their in the aisle, which is one example of frustration while shopping), I would change my rating to 5stars.No matter what tho I will go to shop rite any & every day before going to Walmart.
Nice store...but Shop Rite notify your delivery drivers of the 18 wheelers...the truck entrance is not at the light going out to route 9..its the right after the light into the plaza...2 times in last 2 weeks..trucks trying to turn into the Plaza off route 9 at the light...and cars waiting to leave plaza have to end back up because truck cant make wide turn
Prices continue to rise but was able to get fruit, healthy frozen meals & dessert for 3rd nights, all natural hotdogs, organic cereal, juice, seltzer, free range eggs, & a pound of butter for $43 by shopping the sales & using digital coupons. Sunday evening 8ish was a perfect time to shop.
Went here to pick up my mothers registration for her car. Apparently it fell out on here visit here. Someone brought it in to customer service in shoprite. I guess one if the women there looked up my mother in the system to see if she could find her to contact her about it. Thats customer service.
I am 76yrs old. Ive had open heart surgery, 4 knee replacements,in April shoulder replacement surgery. I have arthritis , back and neck problems. I have a handicap parking decal But I dont like standing in an express line with a 12 item limit behind a couple with at least 24 items especially when there was an elderly lady with an item that needed a price check in front of them. And when I said so 2 employees said that the company told them that they cant say anything. WELL THEN THE DAMN COMPANY NEEDS TO OPEN MORE REGISTERS. AND maybe set up a handicap register.
A very clean remodel store ShopRite is in my history going back as far as 1970s at least. when I brought my Italian grandmother and her cousin both in their seventies to shop at ShopRite in Middletown but of course they also havd to go to Lloyds, a locally owned store because they had to save every time they could God bless them and Penny than ShopRite. We still do it today here in the Hudson Valley we go to Hannaford, Adams fairacre farms ( locally owned) and good old ShopRite. I would say where Im located in Wappingers Falls New York all of the above are great stores to visit and you could even throw in their stop & shop. prices vary so check the flyers my suggestion ShopRite will be less expensive for certain things Hannaford seems to be less expensive for things like milk so it would take too long to tell you everything so why dont you Google it🤗🙏💜
Your cashier Genie seemed to have an issue with me because she kept giving me dirty looks as she stared at me. The thing that mad me the most mad is she asked for my ID for Saranac Orange Cream Soda. If she read the label of the item, she would’ve have known you don’t need to ask for ID with orange cream soda. If she can’t see big bold letters, how is she working there? Isn’t being able to read one of the top priorities in hirin someone? Not to mention her bagger at 11:30 this morning ran over my foot with my cart as she was rudely pulling it away from me to start bagging.
Shoprite remodeled (again) and the end result makes it pure hell to shop there. The aisles are constantly clogged with cardboard stands and pallets of merchandise, making it really difficult to navigate around the store. 1/2 the time I cant find the new location for products I used to buy all the time, so I give up and go elsewhere. Their produce is still old/moldy. They never have enough counters manned, so that one stands in line for quite a while. Today was the worst, and the prices are really high. After todays latest experience, I will be shopping regularly at Wal-Mart and Adams.
I went to his supermarket last night at eleven oclock I found that the manager of this supermarket do not like customers to buy more things, I want to buy a special promotion of eggs, because we must buy more than 6 boxes in order to have special, so I selected 6 boxes and other things,A manager stopped buying me when I paid for. He said you could only buy four boxes. Then I quarreled with him!!!!!!I think a supermarket that opened the customer to buy too many things you feel very strange,Is not their sitting there and so do not go to do business if the boss please people like this I think he is not a very good business。We all spend money is to the supermarket to buy things not with people quarrel, so I advise you not to buy things in this supermarket!!!!
The only reason I go here is because its the closest supermarket to me, the prices have never lived up to the former ShopRite and always save slogan. Today I went to blow up some balloons and the employee in the floral department agreed to but changed her mind after saying she only had an hour left- IS THIS HOW YOU TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES? TO NOT HELP PAYING CUSTOMERS JUST BECAUSE IT WILL TAKE TOO LONG?
ShopRite is a cut above Walmart when it comes to deli, meat, and produce, however with groceries,if you dont stick to sale items, the bill can be extra expensive. They also dont have as much variety of dry grocery as Walmart. If they could just lower prices a bit more, and offer a greater variety of products, they would be a perfect supermarket
Let me start off by saying me, my family, and my congregation shop here regularly, not because we want too but because its the only grocery store within miles of our home but it seems after the last couple weeks I will be doing my shopping elsewhere. From the out side shoprite seems like your normal grocery store from rude highschool employees who look like they hate their jobs to broken bottle machines but let me tell you its much deeper than that. I spend my free time going from place to place seeing how it is to work their and I write a review about it. And shoperite has one of the worst managements I have ever had to endure, in one week ive seen employees being miserable and mistreated. Break rooms are disgusting, forced to pay ridiculous union fees with no incentives, dont go a penny over in your till or you will have 20 lashes across your back, and WHOA if you have a family you can only see them between 1am and 6am. Of course im exaggerating but you get my point. Talking to management is like being in the principles office , you will be attacked, everything is your fault. I was badgered when I scheduled a personal event on a time my schedule said I have off, than given an ultimatum, like I was the one who made the darn schedule. In conclusion if you can avoid shopping at a wakefren corporation, do. And definitely do not work here! Beware!
Crowded parking lot, Fishkill Town Police hassle you if you stop to drop off or pickup elderly in front of store area, even though signs do not say no stopping or no be standing. Fishkill Town Police known to have a reputation for scrutinizing minorities. Staff at shop rite sometimes negligent / insensitive towards customer needs.

2022-06-26ShopRite says they support your local farmers but doesn’t support your local recyclers. If you go there make sure not to bring more than 240 bottles to return because that’s all they allow per day. Also make sure not to bring bottles from other stores even though they say 5 cent return on them because they won’t take them. Also not to mention when we were returning the glass bottles the bin became full and we went to an associate to change the bin we waited for 10 minutes and no one came so we left and went to Walmart and came back and the bin still wasn’t changed.

2022-02-16They always have what I want and the workers are friendly, and they communicate with you very well. And they go far and beyond to get you what you need. I love that store and the meat is always fresh.

2022-03-21Kudos to Jaime and his team! An item was out of stock and he was kind enough to substitute the same item but a different brand. You made a lot of people very happy! Thank you!

2021-12-27A pretty good super market as long as you dont go near the Deli counter. You can be the only one in line with 3 to 4 people behind the counter and no one waits on you. They look at you and keep on doing whatever theyre doing. Ive walked away from the counter many times when Im the only one on line after waiting more than 5 minutes I rarely purchase deli meets here anymore and make separate shopping trips to get them. Solution: Round up your Deli workers and take a field trip to Hazlet, New Jerseys ShopRite. Its a bigger ShopRite and they know how to work a Deli counter.

2021-11-22Honestly, its a supermarket. From my experience, the staff had no personality or warmth to them despite it being the holiday season. Well stocked with different varieties of specific items compared to other stores that stock only the basic ones. Prices were ok and not over priced like tops or acme. Though clean, it feels aged inside.

2021-12-21This a high volume / traffic grocery store. With that said the staff does a pretty good job of keeping things stocked, clean and orderly. A surprisingly extensive fresh fish selection.

2022-05-19Huge store, clean, friendly staff just always busy. Great selection from brands you dont really see at other stores too often.
