So many antique shops are actually flea markets or indoor garage sales, but not here at Showcase Antiques. As their name suggests, the place is lined with secure showcases where dealers arent afraid to offer the best from their inventory. Surrounding the showcases are open booths where larger pieces and furniture are on display. The place is clean, well lit, and orderly. It is located in Canal Place, a nice destination for a day trip or a weekend. Two inns, three restaurants, a coffee and ice cream shop, bookstore, gift shops, the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts, and a salon with organic and natural products are all here. Just steps away are the Mohawk River and then the Erie Canal greenway complete with sculptural benches which ends at Lock 17 and Moss Island, a rock and ice-climbers paradise.

2021-07-13Nice small Zoo, would have been better if more exhibits were open, the buildings are still closed due to Covid......

2021-10-27If you love antiquing and are anywhere near Mohawk Valley, this place is a must-visit. I almost skipped writing a review so I could keep this gem more of a secret. There is everything for everyone, my guy and I were obsessed and easily could’ve spent half our day there if it weren’t for our trip schedule. We were tempted to walk out with half the store and render ourselves completely broke for the rest of our trip through upstate NY. Instead we left with a few items each, which will suffice for now. I live over 5 hours away in Philadelphia— this place is a very big highlight when I visit Herkimer county.

2019-01-14This is one of the best laid out stores of its kind that I have ever been in.it has tall glass display cases that run the length of the store. Its almost more of a museum than a store.Nice folks and a very fun variety of stuff. Ill certainly be returning when Im in the area.

2021-08-05Many so called antique shops are really more like thrift shops or flea markets, but not this one. The stuff here is genuinely antique, and theres a large selection. But beware, with real antiques comes... high prices. Got a couple cool records, and had fun looking thru the display cases at all the many antique items.

2017-12-26Very happy with this store - good selections of ANTIQUES and high quality collectibles, not new stuff. Items are well displayed and showcases very well lit. Staff have always bent over backwards for us, weve found quite a few purchases and have always been delighted.

2021-05-26Besides the high prices, know it all attitude of the owner What I now dislike most is the owners disregard for others safety illustrated in the below photo taken at a public auction prior to the mask mandate being lifted.

2018-01-10If youre into antiques and collectibles, it simply doesnt get any better than Showcase Antiques! Definitely worth the trip if you are travelling anywhere in upstate NY so check it out. REASONABLY PRICED, clean, quality merchandise (always changing inventory; unlike so many other antique stores) and friendly staff. Bright, clean, climate-controlled. Need I say more? Its a no-brainer to see the vast quantity and unmatched quality. Ive checked out many if not most antiques places in upstate and this one ranks at the top of the list!
