Called and asked for the roast pig with chicken rice was told No more. Tried to ask them what roast meat they did have and the person didnt seem to understand me and after a few confused sentences hung up on me. Called back and asked What roast meat do you have? Immediately hung up on me again.
BBQ meats over noodles, rice, soup, you name it. This place has the staples but I wouldnt go out my way to experience it, but living across the street has convienience on its side.Roast duck over egg noodles in broth was great. Simple for sure. The steamed rice rolls were a gooey mess. Oversteamed maybe? But definitely not what I had in mind.Congee is good too.
Placed a large order of food on Monday 2/22/21 and found a large roach in the beef stew noodle soup after I was half done with it. Extremely grossed out but certainly didn’t tell the kids about it. I informed the restaurant and sadly I won’t be returning for a very long time.
I think some people are a bit bias or harsh, especially someone who has made one mean review . First it is a typical Chinese restaurant, nothing fancy even if was pass norm period. They are efficient, quick and busy. Yes, the people are not polite and some probably do not speak English well; that is what makes some NYC establishments charming to keep around. It is busy. a good sign, you want food that turns over quickly l and keeps the kitchen heat churning. Their food is fresh, people come for the congee, prepared meat, and noodles; it is the few Cantonese restaurants left, especially in Queens. One day, we will miss having a variety of providence cuisines. You can preorder and go pay but they are pretty quick if you are not ordering an entree.
Why their business is not better. This is my fav Cantonese Congee/ Roast Duck joint. Place is half empty on Sunday for lunch, may be it is close to 2pm, or its the rain. Not high end, but good food n great care to customer. The nice lady saw Bella, she bought 4 small bowls for us, a scissors to cut Bella noodle and offered to help us fill up Bella water bottle with warm water.
This place is fast and affordable its true but the bbq meats is always served cold no matter the time of day. They try to reconcile by pouring warm sauce over some of them (the ones that come with sauce like the soysauce chicken for example) but overall its just not a great bbq place.
It is 8am to 7pm during the covid------Edit----------I was a big fan of shrimp congee here. I bought two big bowl of shrimp congee because my digestion was bad these days.I found silver colored tiny pieces all over the food after I am almost done eating a bowl. It is totally different from peanut skin. It is so tiny that it is hardly recognizable.Quality and hygiene should be improved here.
The food is what you expect but the smell is not what you would expect We have ate at this restaurant maybe 10 times and three out of the 10 times we noticed that you can smell cigarettes from eating inside the restaurant. Which leaves us to think that the kitchen staff are able to have smoke breaks inside.
If you’re craving duck over rice, this is the best place that offers it in the neighborhood. They’re always quick, have great over rice specials, and are efficient.Best congee ever - it tastes like they simmered their rice in a broth instead of plain water, and their you tiao (fried bread) tastes amazing when you get it fresh.I love their fish with bean curd here as welll, the fish is crispy and the bean curd is never too mushy.
Very rude server!I rarely write a review, unless it is too extreme.I ordered a roasted pork with rice. Unfortunately, the server brought me a cha siu with rice. I complained that this is not the dish I ordered. Instead of apologizing, the server argues that he brought the right dish. He told me that what the dish I should have ordered is roasted “pig” not “pork”. It make no sense to me. With that kind of attitude, I would not like to see that server anymore. Too bad, the food was good but the server was way too arrogant and rude to customers.
This place is similar to the other Cantonese places ending in Wong in various chinatowns in NYC. Namely, they have the basic bbq stuff (roasted duck, roasted pig, chicken, etc) and basic staples like noodles and congee.Service is pretty abysmal. Not really surprising since the restaurant itself is tiny and the waiter/waitress dont really have that much to cover. They are always in a rush to collect your plates and take your orders, though.Dine in food is also mediocre. Dont get the congee. The noodles are okay if you want to get fed but otherwise just not that tasty, and probably have way too much grease. The bbq pork is good, so is the duck. Id just come to buy those as takeout and skip the dine-in part. The best part of the pig is the belly part. Because they hang the pig upside down, this means when the pig is around 2/3 gone, youd get the nice part.
This place WAS a good restaurant to go to especially when they are the only authentic Hong Kong style foodHowever recently their quality have dropped. Wontons were near spoil, tasted sour in the meat. Congee was watery with no taste because they water down the rice so much.I come here every week at least twice a week so I know when they are cutting back or cheat in their ingredientsI wont be coming here for awhile
We ate here with my husband and our little baby and two of our nephew,my husbands two nephew orders their rice combos and my hubby ordered pork and egg congee and roast duck,i ordered a shrimp with lobster sauce,we are a fan of eating here for a long time but all of a sudden we stop because of my last order of shrimp with lobster sauce that has a fish bone on it,i almost chew it,i call the attention of the waitress and took out the fish inside my mouth, she dont even react of anything that its look like its natural in their food,i never heard anything she just smile, then we stop eating we didnt finish our food and leave after that we never did eat here again because of that experience, not recommending now to eat in here.

2021-12-30A very authentic traditional Cantonese food restaurant, make me felt like I was back in Hong Kong The Buddhist delight for vegetarian is amazing, I mean…it’s A-MA-ZING, and it is only less than $8. The BBQ Pork and Cha Siu is average, as it was not warm enough. But considered the fact that I paid $20 for both dishes including tip. I don’t have anything to complain about. It is probably not the best Cantonese restaurant in town, but I would go there if I would want a quick economical meal.

2022-07-22Unbelievable fast process timing. Such a small space (kitchen view and cashier) with lines for take-out and somehow it works for this business. Not a 5 star restaurant but 4 star flavorful meals. Sit-in is available. Really recommend both stay or to-go from this place. Just do it. Lol

2022-07-08Ive picked up a couple of fish congee and roasted pork. This place seems not the cleanest place and not the cheapest place either. What I have got seems decent though.
