Relaxed atmosphere with a nice food and drink selection. The loaded jerk fries are where it’s at!
Ordered an online order they gave my food away and kept lying about it . I called Grubhub and they confirmed they messed up and randomly gave my food to the first driver they saw. I called to speak to a manager and the ditzy waitress hangs up. Finally a manager answers when I call back still no accountability. Sorry if you want to support black business THIS IS NOT IT . they made a mistake and refuse to own up or reason and they get upset when you match their energy . Terrible . Do better
So I go to pickup my food and they make up a whole scenario to say that someone picked up my food already. Argue me down on the phone when in reality they ran out of food and didn’t want to admit it. It’s hard to support black business when this is what happens. Why not he accountable and rectify instead of blatantly lying and changing your story. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME 🤢🤢
My husband loves the food...the atmosphere is laid back and smooth...the drinks are really good. A great place to relax
Paloma Paloma Paloma! If thats your drink then look no further. In addition to them acing one of my favorite drinks - the food is incredible and definitely a rarity for the Rochester scene. I got the jerk chicken fries which was like a soulfood poutine and my friend got the nippsey hussle wrap. We were both very happy with our meals. The service was wonderful too - both the server and the owner (who I think also works as the bartender?) served us. They have a cute little system where you flip around a little sign to indicate you would like more drinks/food or if you just want to chill. Loved it! Will definitely be back :-)
$15 for a small box of shaved short ribs and a spoon full of Mac n’ cheese (the meat was tough/rubbery- your food should never fight back after being cooked 😂), it definitely wasn’t worth the $$. You’re better off going to Soulfood Sista’s off of Maple and get more food for that type of money. We ended up going to Wendy’s after eating their tiny box of food. I love to support my brothers and sisters, but this spot is definitely a disappointment! I won’t be back or recommend them until I see a substantial change! Sorry, but y’all know y’all was wrong for that!!
Everytime i visit i have a good time. The location is in the cut, which is great because not a lot of people know where it is. Parking can be a challenge, but so worth it once you get in and relax in the red and black interior. The atmosphere is grown & sexy with a diverse group of people that i wouldnt necessarily come in contact with on a day to day basis. The Bartenders are friendly and skillful with drink preparations. Even when its crowded they are on their A game to make sure every customer is satisfied. The food....mmmmmm....the jerk sauce is Great!!! I am working my way through the menu and thus far everything ive tried is amazing. The patio area is spacious, clean with lots of seating and great for these wonderful spring and summer evenings to sit out and catch the breeze. All in all my experience has been AWESOME!! I will highly recommend this spot to my family, friends and associates.
Their chef is grade A++. I came here because friends were headed there and its a really awesome place.Ive tried a lot of Caribbean/Jamaican food and the Jerk chicken here was the best Ive had. The house-made sauces were incredible. The Mac salad was unreal!! The loaded jerk fries were so darn good. Prices are great too...Try their food- Ill recommend to anyone

If you like being around a black crowd this is a nice place to go but the drinks are super overpriced and the service is below average which I hate to say because I love to dine at black owned and operated businesses but this one has some more work to do. I can say the music they play is good and they have a spot to go outside in the back that is dimly lit and nice on Summer Nights. Also their security guards are cool and they dont grab your penis or touch your butt when they search you lol.

First time here was helping run the Hennessy and Cigar pairing event a few months back. Great location central to everything but tucked away in a quiet side street. The patrons were great, the atmosphere was electric, and the guys on the smoker whipped up the best Jamaican jerked chicken thighs Ive ever had. I cant say enough good things about the owner, hes friendly and takes time to mingle with the crowd, making sure everyone is having fun. Large outdoor area (partially covered), and best of all its 25 and over only! Great place to grab a cocktail and socialize without having to deal with O-M-G I just turned 21-and-Im-so-drunk kids.

Great staff from front to back Bartender Park was very friendly and knowledgeable and willing to bartend at a high level. Lets talk about the food it was great exactly what I look for in bars/restaurants I smelled the grill from the bar area and when I got up and went to the back there was a great Chef by the name of LB who had just as much soul as the food he was cooking Me and my uncle waited about an hour which was not a problem because we love a good grill session and fresh cooked food we can see for our selves. As we walked on the patio area and kept the chef company while he did what he does which was make the best and most authentic Jerk chicken Rochester has to offer and I say that have trying alot of the supposed to be go to Jerk places around the area the the jerk sauce is like none in this town and also if you love raw art this is a place to visit hidden gem with alot of perks with great service and great food trust me.
Went here for food and drinks but it was SO CROWDED we could hardly move, let alone get to the bar. People must like the place because it was packed, we had to park a block away, but I wasnt a fan. Lots of loud music, as soon as I walked in I felt self conscious from all the guys eyeing me up and down. Id be willing to give it another try but I would definitely only go during daylight hours.
Very small and hidden place. Atmosphere is ok. Did not try the food but heard it is completely wonderful. They do not hold a lot of people but that definitely can be a plus.
I lost my wallet inside of this establishment and one of the “security guards” was extremely rude and unprofessional in regards to retrieving it. He wouldn’t allow us to come back in and search for it and refused to look in the places where it was last seen. I will never return nor recommend anyone to patronize this establishment.

The first thing that struck me when I entered Sidebar was the incense. The aroma filled the room and hinted at a gloriously, relaxed atmosphere. The space has a nice, open floor plan with a moderately sized bar. A lounge is located around the corner which offers some eclectic booths, a juke box and a flatscreen Artwork abounds featuring several pieces by Mike K.The most striking feature is the rear patio which is as large as the interior and has a firepit and cabana. What a wonderful space to enjoy in the upcoming spring and summer months!Sidebar is no sidekick! This is a wonderful addition to the center city area that caters to buppies, b-boys, baps and bohos. Its also great for the nearby theatre crowd!

OMG, The BlackBerry Smash is the Best Cocktail I ever had!!! This place has a SOHO feel to it. Its like Manhattan in the Roc. Great Drinks & Great Customer Service. We need more places like this in Rochester...PASS THE WORD ON THIS ONE...

NICE ENVIRONMENT FOR A PREGAME BEFORE YOU GOT TO THE CLUB. I LOVE THE DRINK OPTIONS. IF YOU DO GO THERE TRY THE BAD N BOUJEE DRINK. HOWEVER THE JERK STYLE MENU WAS AWFUL.
Really good food. If youre going for a drink I highly recommend the bad and boujee. Also pick up a bottle of their house jerk sauce.

2022-06-13One of the best bars in the Rochester area. The atmosphere is very relaxed and filled with positive energy. Very welcoming to all, the staffs customer service skills are phenomenal. The drinks are made to perfection and the food is superb.

2022-02-18I got a chance to grab drinks and food at Side Bar. I got a jerk chicken wrap and their house rum punch. The bar was small but welcoming and they have a large drink selection.

2021-10-28The bartenders didnt know how to make a Paloma which is on their menu, it came out with a pineapple wedge and tasted like a Pina colada, Manhattan was also poorly made and was sent back. Too pricey for what they offer for food and booze but it is a cool and laid back bar with a nice outdoor patio space and they do offer hookah as well which was nice to have while we were there.

2021-08-05Absolutely disgusting. The way they described and took pictures of their tacos is super deceiving. The food was super cold, barely any ingredients, and lacked flavor. For $16, lunch made tacos, and a tube of sour cream NOT WORTH IT AND I WILL NEVER EVER SPEND MY MONEY HERE EVER AGAIN! I wish I could not leave any stars.
