I spent 40K on a AC system for my home. I have 2 confirmed coolant leaks from components installed by this group. I have spent hour after hour on the phone trying to get someone in this office to address the issue. This problem has been going on for over 2 year now. It would take forever to document the lack of communication, lack of professionalism and lack of reliability exhibited by these people.A person would have to be out of their mind to pay them to do anything in their house. I regret ever calling them to do this work. Please do not be fooled by the other ratings. Those customers are commenting on nickel and dime repairs. If you need a professional I could not advise you to steer clear of these people more strongly.Happy to expand on comments if any one is curious.
Ivan was a very professional and prepared servicer. Answered all questions posed with accuracy and detail. Certainly knowledgable in the industry and someone I would go to again for similar work. He was able to take a relatively unique repair circumstance and deliver the outcome desired. Given his knowledge I was able to take more out of the appointment than just a simple repair and exit. Thank you.
I unfortunately made the mistake of having a smart thermostat installed (improperly as it turned out) by another company for our HVAC system that was purchased from and installed by Sila. Thankfully, Freddy the technician came to our rescue and did a great job getting our HVAC system running right again!!Freddy was very personable, methodical but efficient, and hard working. He provided clear explanations of the system problems encountered and the repair options available. Will definitely ask for Freddy to take care of our future maintenance/repair calls!!
Working on a home thats over 100 years old presents constant challenges. Not only were the guys efficient and thorough, they were insightful and effective in collaboration and communication with me throughout the process to make sure I would be pleased with the work. Qualified technicians with tremendous work ethic they completed the job ahead of schedule despite several unforseen set backs.
The technician seems to be very good but it would have been better if the technician really explained that I’d be saving $1000 by having him do the test all in one day and finding out where the leak is then I would have went to the next level to decide if I want to really have a system replaced but at least I’d have the system working for the time being that would’ve been the better business thing to do, you Gotta be clear and fair SILA when you tell a potential customer something. A word of advice SILA make sure the customer fully understands and always give the customer the benefit because the customer is not savvy to the business. A educated customer is a happy customer._______Update; I just spoke to the service manager and he was very understanding about my situation I just like to say that I appreciate him calling me to find out my concern and how we can ratify the problem.
I called these guys for a total heating system replacement. wonderful first visit and really liked them. they came back a week later with a technical guy to evaluate my needs and promised a quote within days. then went dark in spite of my reaching out to them repeatedly. Stay away. if this is what they do when you want to buy, what to they do after????? very disappointing.
Had Sila install a new AC system 5 years ago. Big mistake. The installation was improper and never made right. I was supposedly given free maintenance for two years. They never showed up. This year they convinced me to buy a maintenance contract. Turns out it is nothing more than an excuse for them to charge you exorbitant rates for things than you have no idea if you need or not. In short, a total rip off. I didnt think anyplace could be a bigger rip off than Bruni and Campisi, but they are.
Update to Past Review: In previous review I noted everything that went wrong from the moment of get go. We are used to being ignored generally after we the customers have vented. Today a technician came and fixed the last of the issues on my list. The personal one on one follow up from the General Manger Evan Bauer after reading that previous review did pleasantly surprise me. It was genuine and earnest in using the bad experience with this customer - me ..as a teaching moment for him and his team and to use it to avoid same mistakes in future. My feedback was candid and his acceptance of the earful of mistakes made sincere. Any company with leaders such as Evan has potential to be the best of the class. Everyone makes mistakes and things go wrong all the time but acknowledging it takes humility and desire to be better. Thanks for listening and being open to the difficult feedback to become the best. Now I am truly glad I chose SILA against 5 others.Previous Review - New Lennox Installation to replace the old. Day started bad with complete miss on items like new filter as per contract till I called office. Then electric outlets issue after ripping everything. Lots of yelling at manager, GM hiding somewhere cant take my call and his assistant in my face as a fire wall. What saved the day and me walking away was two of their on site workers Humberto Arboleda and Nathan Surface. Such a professional attitude and commitment. They teamed up to save the day. They came at 8:30 and stayed till 10:30 to finish the job and do it right plus some. Their loyalty to SILA and their commitment to do it right by me the customer was over and beyond what they probably get paid for this job. Glad they were assigned to this job. Beware competition does not steal themDear Mr. GM - Get your house and processes in order and have your mangers Mr. Martin to do due diligence to make sure they review every job per best practices before you start!!! Hiring Sila to install our central air conditioning came with huge headaches and was nothing but a mistake. The unit installation was shockingly terrible. During the installation process, we came home each day to a dirty home, including dirty handprints on our walls and footprints on the floors all throughout our house. There was also damage, including a large indent left in our wood floor where something was dropped and a ceiling that was left in complete shambles. Lastly, two of the vents didnt work because they werent hooked up properly in the attic. Fortunately, when we contacted the main office in our area a service manager was horrified enough by the state of our home that he did have Sila cover the cost of a painter coming to repair and repaint our ceiling. He was by far the most competent person we worked with at Sila and we appreciated his responsiveness.The next issue we had has to do with the close-out of our permit. This took from July 2019 when the project was finalized until January 2021. We followed-up to have our permit closed out more times than we can count. At first, it turned out they had an employee in their permit department who never actually contacted the city despite telling us on several occasions it was being taken care of. Then, once he was fired, the new people reaching out had the wrong email for the building department and rather than picking up the phone and calling directly, they decided to keep sending unanswered emails. We finally had to reach out to Sila’s COO and he seemingly directed his staff to figure this out. They FINALLY determined the email they had was incorrect. When they notified us of the wrong email they played it off as we “all” had the wrong email. No, sir, you did, not us. It wasn’t our responsibility to reach out to the building department at any point and we will not be held responsible in any way for Sila’s ineptitude. After the correct email was found the city had the final paperwork to us in a week.
We used Sila to get our AC back up and running quickly, since we were unhappy with the last company used. Ivan, the tech who completed the work was informative, professional and was thorough. Some techs rush jobs, but he made sure our system was properly cleaned and running before leaving. We will definitely call them again for heating as well when we need it.
Professional, Courteous, Timely, Efficient and Knowledgeable…These are all words that come to mind when describing the service I received from Ivan C. from Sila. I had an ongoing issue with my A/C. I used a different company to troubleshoot it and they could not fix the issue. I then decided to call Sila and they dispatched Ivan to my home. Ivan diagnosed my A/C problem and actually took the time to explain what potentially could have caused it, signs to look out for in the future and even gave me a rundown on how mini split systems work! I am very satisfied with the service I received. If you call for service, ask for Ivan…he is an excellent technician.
First time working with Sila for our A/C. Had an emergency and was so fortunate to have Ivan call us back promptly with genuine interest and concern about what may be going on. He was able to come within just a few hours! He was very transparent, gave clear expectations of arrival times and cost and showed up ready to go. Super Professional and more importantly knowledgable and effective in resolving our issue quickly while breaking it down for us so we actually understand about our cooling system. We plan to stay with Sila for a new system and future servicing based on this experience.
Jack and Ivan did the yearly maintenance on my Mitsubishi A/C. Both were very professional and I recommend using Sila for A/C and heating maintenance. Take the maintenance contract it is worth it. Do not wait for your system to fail especially if it is old. Great job guys.
My heater broke overnight so I called Sila first thing in the am. The person on the phone was wonderful and gave me an appointment right away. A couple of hours later a very nice gentleman named Kurt came on time and started performing diagnostics on the system. Our heater is old and was turning on/off periodically so Kurt had to be very patient in order to find out what was wrong. Kurt explained to me what he was doing in every step of the way in a very methodical manner. I was impressed by his knowledge and how courteous he was. He also explained how I will be charged for the service and what my options were. Once he fixed the system he made recommendations about purchasing a new system which would enhance safety. Kurt was not pushy at all about purchasing a new system and he gave me all of my options which I appreciated. He was not in a rush at all but very patiently discussed the prospect of a new system or alternatively things we can do to enhance the existing system. After I decided to get a sales quote from Sila, Kurt volunteered to call Sila himself in and set up an appointment for me at my convenience. Sila is lucky to have such an impressive person in its service team.
Ivan at Sila is fantastic. As a new homeowner, he patiently walked me through the full 15-point HVAC inspection and tune-up, explaining issues that came up and answering any and all questions. Efficient and thorough, Ivan is a complete professional and a natural teacher - highly recommend! Would give 6 stars if I could.
I have been a customer of Sila for over a decade! They have installed both my air conditioning and heating systems as well as dehumidifier system. They are simply the best HVAC company. Professional and courteous and competent service. There is total confidence in their abilities. There is superb customer care! A special acknowledgment for our maintenance technician Kyle who pays attention to every detail and treats the maintenance of our home as it was his own. Sila stands out from the rest of the the service and installation companies. I can’t say enough good things about Sila and highly recommend to anyone who needs a new system installed or a maintenance contract for existing systems.
Had a neighbor recommend Sila to us, and were so happy that they did! The Technicnan - Michael - showed up on time and did a very thorough tune-up, taking the time to explain each and every thing we has doing in addition to things that we could do in between service calls. It was actually a very educational service call for both my Wife and I. He made thoughtful recommendations as well as provided some simple things we could do on our own in between service calls - which was a huge plus. And before he left, he put together a bunch of notes + walked us through all of our options which we really appreciated.Sila has earned a customer for life!
Unusual attention to detail and meticulous care in installation of units and related piping in 115 yr old home. Covid protocols maintained at all times and daily cleanup exceeded our expectations. Carlos, Randall and the rest of the install team demonstrated considerable pride in doing each step professionally.
I’ll only use Sila going forward! My boiler all of the sudden stopped working as soon as the cold weather rolls in. Sila sent out a technician that day to figure out the problem and I couldn’t be happier! Everyone I spoke to was professional and price was unmatched! Definitely will be recommending Sila Heating & Air Condition to everyone!
Kurt from Sila was professional and courteous, donning shoe coverings as soon as he arrived. After diagnosing the system, he was generous with his time explaining exactly what system I had and what he learned about the old AC system that was installed in my newly purchased home. He answered all my questions and seemed genuinely interested in helping me make good decisions about my options.
I was looking for a reputable HVAC company to repair my furnace. Browsed the internet and came across the company Sila. Followed the instructions on line and started a chat with a representative named Jeffery who was very helpful in setting up my appt for Oct 1 with a window from 2-5:00 pm. Received a text from Sila to confirm my appointment. Two oclock came and nothing yet to say that they were on their way. Three Oclock came still no contact, Four Oclock, 5 Oclock, Six Oclock and still no representative from Sila showed up to perform the repair or called to say what happen and why they missed the appointment. Since I was a new customer you would think someone would at least reach out to say hey were running a little late but we will be there Nothing!!!! First impressions are important. Therefore I would not recommend this company at this time to any of my friends or family.After posting my review I am happy to say that I received a call from Tino (customer service MGR) apologizing for the missed appointment and explained why it happened and offered to make things right by giving me a discount on the service call. I agreed and a service Technician named Ivan who was very knowledgeable. Upon looking at my furnace he could see that the gas was turned off which was why the pilate light wasn’t igniting. I explained to him that I had some work done on my water heater and that they must have turned it off. Ivan turn the switch to the on position and the unit was working fine. I appreciated that there was nothing major. Ivan wrote up the service call with the price quoted to me an additional amount for pushing the switch to the on position. That kind of surprised me because there was no repair done on my furnace but since things were up and running I paid for the invoice. To me good business would have been just to charge for the service call but it is what it is. Therefore I would give them a 4 rating for this service call.
We have been using Sila for the past 3 years and could not be happier with their service and team. They service our complex heating and HVAC systems and have even installed a new system on a new build. While the whole team is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive, Dennis in particular is extraordinary. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and professional, whether through regular routine maintenance or working through complex issues that have plagued our system and stumped previous companies. We appreciate everything Dennis and Sila have done and continue to do for us and could not make a higher recommendation.
The tech - Ivan - did a thorough job. Carefully explained work that needed to be done and made all the arrangements. Additionally he informed of the service contracts being offered for my 3 A/C units and helped arrange for them. All in all very impressed with professionalism and quality of the service. Great job done by Ivan.
If I had an option to put zero, I would. The installed the misfinxtioning hvac unit, and for second winter in the row we have days with no heat. We bought a full service warranty from them, but they have long waits (I mean days without heating) and then come, fix, it works for couple of days, then it breaks again. I called 24/7 emergency line, left a message, no one is answering. The office is of cause closed, but when I will call on Monday, there will be several days if not a week wait for tye repair. This is a week without a heater. Do yourself a favor and avoid buying from them.
We have a maintenance contract with Sila, which covers our furnace and central air annual check ups. Our service tech Kurt was great-- he showed us what was needed for our tune up, and explained different options without trying to oversell us. The work was done quickly in the same visit. He was also patient with our nosy cat following him around!
Very pleased with the work done by the technician Kyle. The initial diagnose consultation was on-time, and he was able to locate the root cause of our furnace problem which is the aha moment for us that answered all of our observations and questions, since weve been trying to solve the issue by ourselves for several months and no luck. The proposed repair is reasonable and quote is fair-priced. On the day of repair, the work was done exactly as communicated earlier (also well documented in the service ticket) and no surprising hidden costs or upsell. Work was professionally completed and the working area was nice and clean after finish. Kyle is really transparent, honest, and professional, highly recommend him! The communication with other Sila staff coordinating appointment and payment was easy too. Overall were happy with the decision that we went to Sila for help fix our furnace, and will definitely recommend this service to F&F, and come back for future AC/furnace/water heater needs.

The expansion tank failed on our boiler and was leaking all over the floor. Sila responded and sent Kyle the same day. He immediately diagnosed the problem , helped contain the leak, ordered the part and replaced it the next day! Kyle was Very knowledgeable, polite, respectful of property and well spoken. Be sure to remember to mention the coupon for a free diagnostic with over $349 in repairs- a great deal! I will be setting up a maintenance contract with sila ASAP!
My gas boiler stopped working on the middle of the night and had a sila technician come the same day. The tech left me 3 options for repairs and pricing was fair. The rep that took my call was very professional and listened to all my concerns; it’s nice to know some companies still show empathy. My family and I will always use sila going forward.
We were able to get same day service for a water heater emergency. That was great.Technician Doug was very thorough in his analysis and diagnostics. He explained all of our repair options very clearly so that were able to make a well-informed decision about next steps. Very kind and professional.
They did the install and have done all the annual maintenance. This year it was Dennis. Received a call that the tech was on the way. Arrived within the window of the appointment. Took all precautions to protect my house (booties, mask). Thorough, quick and took the time to ask if I had any questions. They earn my continued business

My experience with Sila was great from start to finish. I have an old Tudor house that needed AC, but I did not want to alter the antique details and the beauty of the walls, moldings, etc. I was referred to Sila by a friend who installed the Unico system in her Tudor. Sila came to my house and explained to me all the options available, the costs, the process, the timing, and responded patiently to the 100 questions I had. I decided for the Unico system, which is minimally invasive and fits older houses or houses where aesthetic is a concern. The installation was flawless. The crew was very professional, clean, polite, quiet, and willing to work around any request I had, and at the end they delivered the job in time (actually a couple of days earlier than planned). I am so happy with the choice I have made with both the product and the company. I highly recommend them to anyone who is thinking about adding AC to their house.
Doug and Curt, were on time extremely neat and tidy. They were both very friendly and answered all our questions. They cleaned our AC unit in the basement of our home and then checked our other unit in our attic. They also meticulously wrapped all of our exposed ac/heating vents with insulation throughout our basement. I was so impressed with their work. Very detail oriented and thorough I can not recommend Doug and Curt enough. We will definitely be using Sila going forward.
We worked with Kyle and he is one of the *BEST* technicians Ive ever seen.Knowing how to troubleshoot and maintain the equipment in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations is important; knowing how to address issues unique to the situation goes above and beyond.Im technical enough to appreciate the professional solutions he implemented in response to the specific issues that went above and beyond.Years of experience, combined with an engineers intuition, distinguish this companys service. Kyle did an outstanding job with repairing our Luxaire compressor. The manufacturer sent a new compressor and the package was missing the needed harness to complete the repair. Kyle must have called at least 15 different suppliers to get the correct harness and completed the job at 7:15 pm. It was a long day for him having started the day at 7:45 am and taking care of his other clients before coming back to finish our job. He stayed calm and collected throughout the entire process. We are now Lifetime Customers of SILA HVAC and extremely grateful for his great work.
First service call. Andres was very through, considerate and helpful. Very happy with service so far.Second service call was with Ivan. He was very kind to answer all my questions and explain at the level of detail that I sought. He got to the bottom of an install issue very quickly. It was a delight to have him service our new furnace.
Ive worked in customer service for many years and Sila has pretty great customer service. That goes a long way for me. On the phone and in person, the people I dealt with through Sila were great. I did have a window from 9-12 and the technician came around 1:15, but it was something that I talked to a customer service rep about, so I wasnt too disappointed. I think the one thing you have to remember is if you need a diagnostic, you might have to be available for a longer time than you may have originally expected.The other reason I have 4 stars and not 5 is because Sila had a deal on their site about a free diagnostic if you move forward with a recommended repair of a certain cost. That was never mentioned to me on the phone and I had to bring it up myself. They mentioned they would honor it, but when the technician gave me a quote, it wasnt taken into consideration in that quote either and I had to bring it up again. I think this is an opportunity for Sila to make their service even better.Doug the technician was AMAZING. 1.) I love that Sila employees wear booties so that the house doesnt get damaged. Thank you! 2.) Doug was thorough, educated me on a lot, wasnt pushy at all and genuinely cared. He put in the time and effort into the details and I really appreciated that. He went above and beyond in the quality of his work and left everything in great condition, back to where it was. Thank you, Doug!
HVAC system installed 5 years ago. Some communication issues with the installation but the system has run well since then. Just ended our initial 5 year maintenance and the serviceman Ivan did a great job explaining ongoing maintenance options. A+ rating for their maintenance people!
The technician, Kyle, was extremely helpful and thorough in checking all the systems and diagnosing the potential problem. He was also very attentive to answer all my questions and was helpful in explains the functionality of the HVAC System. Would definitely recommend and use this company’s services again.
Horrific business. They sold us on a discounted two-tuneup package and never honored the second tuneup. Their technician broke my condenser and now they’re trying to charge us $180 just to LOOK at it. These people are dishonest and are clearly comfortable with extortion. Hire literally anyone else.
Sila staff are knowledgeable, professional, responsive, and diligent. They fixed a leak in my pipes which caused us to get the (freon) gas filled every 6 months in the system, which was both expensive and irritating. Sila were diligent and did not stop digging until they found the leak; this was after changing three-four companies before that who had not only not found the leak, but had performed other unnecessary additions to the system at extensive cost.In addition, SILA techs always explain what they did and how it affects the heating/ a/c system. I have been using their services for several years for both heating and a/c, and fully recommend them!
Working with Sila was a great experience from beginning to end. From the moment we called to set up an appointment, to day of install everyone was so friendly and professional. Dave who first came to our house to offer a quote was so patient with us! Tulsi was so accommodating with install date changes and the team that came to install left my house cleaner than when they came in :). I would highly recommend going with Sila.

During a heat wave, Sila canceled a long scheduled service maintenance appointment, ten minutes after it was supposed to start. They did however, responded amazingly when I informed them that the AC system was not working. Their tech was in my house within two hours, and saved the day!Thanks
Sila has consistently provided great service. Most recently, Ivan came out on a Sunday evening to diagnose and fix a problem with my air conditioning system. He made sure that our house would be properly cooled, as the forecast for the next day projected much hotter weather. I would confidently recommend Sila to anyone.
Steve came to emergency repair my heating unit during one of the coldest days of the year. He worked extremely fast to troubleshoot and resolve the problem within an hour. He was very professional and respectful. This is not the first time Steve or Sila has done exemplary work.
I am extremely happy with my experience with Sila, especially their tech, Doug Bins. Of all the estimates I received Doug was the most knowledgeable as to the current state of my HVAC and what could be done. I have 3 HVAC units at my location. I am very happy with the UV and electronic filters Sila recommended and installed. I have never had a more through heating maintenance performed on my units than Doug did.
Kyle, the technician, was outstanding. He checked and did maintenance/tune-up on every aspect of our 25 yr old Lenox a/c. Fortunately it passed everything under his close scrutiny. I had a great experience with Sila today. Their tech Kyle came out and arrived at 8:00 am on the dot to tune up and clean our central air system to get it ready for the warm season. He was extremely thorough, friendly and professional and answered any questions I had. I will def be using Kyle and Sila Heating and Cooling again in the future.
For years, we have always received responsive, professional services, both the initial call for service and then the service folks who perform the service. The technician Jose has just been great, diagnosing and fixing problems with our old system (not installed by SILA, unfortunately). We have had SILA install ductless systems, all working smoothly, too. Heartily recommend SILA...David & Randy
We signed up for a maintenance agreement for our ACs and heater. They were on time and very professional. Both techs (one for heat and one for AC) walked us through the system and explained clearly what they were doing. They did not try to upsell us on anything. Will definitely use again!
Very professional from scoping and pricing through to installation. They replaced a central air conditioning system while also cleaning up exterior conduits, also providing new networked thermostat. The ductless system was an addition and required planning and design in order to optimize, which they did. Very satisfied!
I called Sila Heating after having problems with my gas furnace. The furnace was not venting and shutting off. I called Sila and immediately their phone representative contacted another field rep to come out and see the situation. John took careful measurements, looked at our equipment which is a gas furnace and air conditioner coil combo. When John came out he even brought us space heaters if we needed them! I discovered that our furnace shutdown issue was caused by a downdraft chimney issue and not the furnace. At this point I am holding off on the furnace unit replacement until my chimney issue is corrected but I will be calling Sila when it’s time.
We recently hired Sila for our heating and AC annual maintenance, and they were excellent. Their technicians were polite, professional, explained everything carefully, and answered all of my questions with patience. During my time as a homeowner, I have never had a more pleasant experience with a company of this sort. I highly recommend Sila and will plan to use them again to replace our hot water heater. I used Sila to install high velocity air conditioning. I was very pleased with the installation and the service provided. I very much liked all of the guys who worked on the project and the project manager Bryan Smith was excellent. He was very responsive to any questions or needs. I have no complaints and only praise for the company. I would highly recommend them.
The technician arrived as scheduled and the company was available by phone to narrow the window so I didnt have to wait around all day. HOWEVERThe service plan they sell for maintenance is NOT WORTH IT if you have an old A/C unit. I had a tech at the house today and it seemed his instructions were that if the unit is more than 10 years old it will need:1) Either a pressure test to look for a coolant leak ($700) or coolant added (at a price of at least $195 when a 30 gallon tank can be purchased with the correct certification for around that price)(2) Contact relay replaced (at a cost of around $400).The technician attempted to justify these problems by telling me there was ice on the coil (which he couldnt see because he could not figure out how to get the cover off the air handler) where there was clearly no ice on the visible drain piping; not to mention that the unit had be running for less than 5min when he proclaimed the presence of ice, and the unit has been off all week (that is some damn fast forming ice).The rational for replacing the contact was that the exterior unit (the compressor) did not kick on in response to the thermostat closing the circuit; however this observation was made AFTER he had pulled the safety relay, thus disabling the compressor (which had kicked on instantly with the relay in place).I dont blame the technician as I am sure his instructions were came from the company. A quick phone call while he was here led me to Oscar and then Michael who were both quick to justify the cost of a maintenance visit during which nothing was accomplished other than attempting to sell me further service.To their credit they did offer me my money back. Michael said that my check is in the mail.UPDATE;Got a second opinion; tuns out my coolant level has high if anything, and the contact is slightly pitted but functional and not in need of replacement. All that was required was to clean the coils, which was done at no additional charge with the maintenance visit whereas SILA was going to charge me an additional $150 to clean the coils. So for $125 I got what Sila was going to charge me around $480 to do, but the tech who was here on couldnt have done anyway since he couldnt get the cover off the air handler.After calling to follow up on my refund (which was in fact returned to my credit card) it was acknowledged by the company that the the technician probably misdiagnosed my system; and they wasted a lot of my time. I was advised that they would follow up with the technician and review their protocols vis-a-vis customer satisfaction. (2 stars for acknowledgment of failure and timely refund)CAVEAT EMPTOR
The Sila staff delivered what was agreed upon. They are professional and extremely mindful in the way they conduct their services. We were impressed by the high standard of work ethic. What is.noticeable is the orderly condition they left your house after installation. Highly recommend.
Sila just completed a project for installing a two-zone hydro-air system in my house. This project includes installing a water boiler, indirect water heater, air handlers, condensers, and mini-duct through the basement and attic.Overall, the experience with Sila was excellent. The project manager from Sila was very knowledgeable, thorough, and always anticipated the potential challenges during the project. The installation team from Sila was extremely professional, and the quality of the work was excellent.What was most impressive is the follow-up. The management at the White Plains branch of Sila was very responsive for the issues arise after the installation is completed, and always addressed the questions and concerns I had to my full satisfaction.In summary, I would not hesitate to recommend this team for their professional installation quality and excellent care of the needs of the customers.
We just used Sila to get a diagnostic on the central a/c unit on a home we were looking to purchase. As we closing on a house, we had less than 24hrs to get things sorted, but Sila were able to accommodate our needs, sending a technician out within a few hours. They ran a complete diagnostic that afternoon, giving us the peace of mind that everything was in order, providing a complete run down as the full system, what any issues were and what was needed to fix them.The service of the technician and HQ staff was exceptional and I would highly recommend them.
Weve had Sila Heating install two different central air conditioning units in the past 5 years in our home which was built in 1929. In both cases they were nothing but professional, quick, neat and customer friendly. I would recommend them to anyone who is considering AC in installed in older homes. Wonderful results, very competitive pricing, and friendly workers. Really a great company.
Ive been a customer for 10 years. Paying for a maintenance and emergency service plan the entire time. Had an appointment for repair of leaking heat pipe and service this morning. The company called and said they couldnt come on time. Rescheduled to 4PM. Now its 6:30 and they still havent showed up. Called their number repeatedly and no one answers. Emergency phone prompt results in this user has not set up their voice mail. Stayed home from work specifically to deal with this. Wasted my entire day.Update- guy just showed up 7PM. Nice guy. Knew the system. Been here before. OK. I changed my review. Need to order part and come back. Will update when I know the outcome.
We are at the final stages of our central air conditioning installation. I am usually cautious about writing a review before the final day but our experience has been so positive that I feel very comfortable. Our sales rep Marco, is professional in every sense of the word, keeping appointments and visiting us everyday of the project. Our team of Gustavo and Luis is outstanding. They have a wonderful work ethic and their craftsmanship is top notch. They are careful and respectful of our property. They work long and hard days and are most pleasant. Kyle, our foreman, is knowledgable, smart and helpful. He comes up with solutions to queries that come up and has made the process smooth. Signed up for annual furnace inspection. Technician was very thorough. Sat with him while he performed his duties. Answered all of my questions. Provided me with preventative maintenance tips too. Been using SILA to service our AC cooling/heating system. Will continue to use them in the near future based on their quality of service and response.
Look no further for an HVAC company ! We had used another company and sadly they did a very poor job ....we had to literally start over. The second time around way more due diligence was done and we chose Sila and it was the right choice. From the customer service, sales and technicians every step was seamless and professional. Additionally the unit works perfectly - and was installed in a fraction of the time the previous company took. so happy .
Sila have been great to work with. They installed our central A/C in 2013 and were extremely professional, very quick, friendly, and extremely neat. I was surprised at how many times they cleaned up after themselves, even when I thought everything was already clean. It was clear that they knew exactly what they were doing, and I highly recommend considering them for A/C installation.
Have been with Sila for a few years now. Find them to be very professional and accommodating. We have renewed our heat pump parts and labor contract as it is clearly among the most cost effective and all encompassing plans for AC/Heat in the area. The maintenance and peace of mind during winter is worth it. Would gladly recommend them.
SILA installed HVAC and ductless services for us back in 2019. At the time I gave them a very good review. Today I learned that they never took out a permit when they did the work which is affecting my ability to sell my house. If you use them def make sure they do the job completely...
I had a feeling that the heating service on our 2 boilers that we received wasnt thorough (we have had a contract with Sila for 3 years). I decided to have another company to take a look. Not only were the boilers dirty one of them was emitting carbon monoxide. Its not the only time Ive been disappointed with Sila. Were done with them.
Doug is the best! He is the only one I will have service my AC. I will not have anyone else come. I am willing to wait for an appt. with Doug. He arrives on the exact time of the appt. He has never been late! Above all, he is knowledgeable and willing to patiently explain anything I ask. He always gets the job done perfectly. If there is a problem, he lets me know and makes sure it is fixed correctly or lets me know if he needs to come back. He is very pleasant to have working here. He is a great representation for the Sila company.
Sila (formerly Unique Indoor Comfort) installed a high-velocity central a/c system in my home, which was built in the 1920s. I couldnt be any happier with the quality of the installation and the high level of professionalism. At the end of each day the installers would clean up whatever mess they made and left the work area spotless. I ended up recommending Sila to several friends, some of whom ended up hiring them. Great job fellas!
All I can say is that Silas customer service is phenomenal! I have been a client/customer for eight years and have always been very happy with their preventive maintenance service plan as well as any service calls. The technicians are knowledgable and demonstrate respect for people. One, in particular (Juan), treats my HVAC system as if it is his own! I am very comfortable that my heating and air conditioning needs are being very well taken care of; I FEEL PROTECTED. When I call to schedule a service call I am treated like the valued customer that I am.
Sila is the BEST! I have been a customer for over 7 years and I have to say that the money I spend on our annual service plan is well worth the investment. The service technicians are subject matter experts who go above and beyond the limit of just providing the service. They actually recommend different little tricks on how to keep your home cool in the summer or warm in the winter without spending a ton with your local gas and electrical company. Sila also gave me advice on the latest products, techniques and eco-friendly practices related to heating and air conditioning which saved me thousand of dollars over the course of my agreement with them. I dont give out to many recommendations but this one I feel extremely comfortable doing.

Good and clean installation. System was installed in November and it was promised to tune up the system in May/June during hot weather but its August and sila never showed up to as promised. Been writing them for past 10 month about the reward card of $500 they promised before installation and we are still waiting. I am looking for alternate maintenance contract since I am not sure they will respond promptly in case of emergencies.
Sila installed 3 High Velocity A/C units our 85 year old home. We are extremely pleased with the service, professionalism and quality of the work. The systems capabilities will make significant improvements in our home beyond just having central air. We recommend them to those considering this kind of system.
Update from Original Review with Pictures. 10-20-2019Sila contacted me to change my original 1-star review. They came to my house to see their workmanship. After kicking the issue up to senior management, we have heard nothing!Here is how your basement can look, with duct work coming down nearly 12 inches when it was supposed to be within the beam drop (8-9). Duct work was contracted to be around the perimeter of the room, instead of down the center.OldExtremely poor workmanship. Service is ridiculously expensive. Their installed equipment breaks down annually. Try someone else. Very disappointed.
I wanted to have Sila come and fix my ac unit. I chose them because of their great reviews. However after a week of trying to get someone to even return my call, no luck. The last guy I spoke to just put the phone down on me - extremely rude and unprofessional! Shame, as I am looking for an ac service company that I can stick with for a long time!
Ivan, the man, the myth, the technician! He is the one you want at your service! Kind, considerate and knows what he is doing and talking about. Takes pride in his work and his craft. Took the time to thoroughly explain the the diagnostics, and anything going on with our HVAC system whether good or bad. You are at peace and in good hands knowing that Ivan is servicing your equipment. Would definitely recommend Ivan, and Sila as the go to for all your HVAC needs.
My 2 compressors were out of refrigerant (I discovered that when I moved in). The technician (Doug) did not help much. He suggested to run a (very costly) leak detection on both compressors before filling up with (expensive again) refrigerant.Bottom line : I called the previous owners AC man. He charged me $750 to fill up the compressors (all included), while Sila charged $236 just to tel me that there were no refrigerant and were proposing to charge $1,000 for refrigerant (not included $1,000+ for their recommended leak detection).
I had a problem with my furnace over a weekend, which was not yet under a service contract, and Sila was great. They got me scheduled for the first appointment on a Sunday morning and did a thorough job. The issue was identified and quickly corrected. I would recommend them.
I purchased a new HVAC system with a Full Warranty and Service Agreement that says complete system coverage and guarantees ZERO out of pocket expenses for the term of the warranty. However I was told it doesn’t include the $200 replacement filter for the Healthy Climate Media Air Cleaner system. The terms of the Full Warranty/Service Agreement doesn’t say that this is not included. Very misleading warranty coverage and is the reason I gave two stars.On another note, Kurt the service technician was professional and courteous. If I could just give him stars it would be five.
Replaced A/C thermostat under service plan. No charge. Responded to service call in less than 24 hours. Steve arrived on time, reviewed problem, installed a replacement and thoroughly checked A/C system.No surprise here. Have been doing business with Sila (Unique) for many years and have recommended them to satisfied friends. Have always found them to be prompt, fair, knowledgable, and totally professional.
They installed a dual fuel heat pump/AC 3 years ago. It has never held a refrigerant charge for more than 1 season, and the unit needed a $1000 repair after less than 3 years. They do not stand behind their products nor their installations as they charged me full price for the recharges and the repairs. We were also told by another company that worked on the system that the humidifier they put in was never working properly. Its hard to understand why our experience was so different from other reviews, but I can only speak from what happened to us. The installation was from the former Unique Indoor Air, which Sila has since acquired, so perhaps that is one factor.
Troy Casey was at my home today to deal with a Whole- house humidification system that wasnt working. He successfully analyzed the problem and fixed it. The Sila staff are all top notch, very reliable and a pleasure to work with as they are well trained, competent, and have an excellent appreciation of the importance of good customer service.
If you need an Air Conditioner or Boiler, avoid Sila like the plague.They installed a replacement AC and Boiler Friday. For $18,500 I got a giant hole in my ceiling because they got lazy about putting down plywood, broken basement steps because they didn’t have a proper handtruck, and (most importantly) an AC that doesn’t cool after they “adjusted” it the morning after.They refuse to send someone over in the middle of a heatwave to fix the AC, don’t know when they will get around to fixing the hole, and won’t even call me back.Thank God my toddler wasn’t in my room when the ceiling came down. The guy who went through was easily 300 lbs. If he had gone through on top of my toddler she would be dead.If you want someone who will install a system, stand by their work, and not cause destruction in your home, go somewhere else!
Ive tried many different HVAC companies in Westchester over the years, but Sila has given me the best customer service. Ill never use another company again. They have the most professional and most caring employees and all they want is to get the job done so you can again live in a comfortable temperature in your home. Would definitely recommend.
Sila put in a new oil boiler for me 2 years ago costing around $10,000. I took out a maintenance contract with them last year for $500. This year I did not receive a bill for my contract. I called Sila and they said they no longer support oil boilers they just install them. They did not even notify me of the change. DO NOT USE THEM TO INSTALL AN OIL BOILER. I was able to get an appointment very quickly and the people on the phone were very pleasant to deal with. Harry and Doug were right on time for the appointment and took a lot of time checking out the system and then explaining the issues to me. Very happy with them.
We found Sila through CostCo. Bryan Smith worked with us to replace an old furnace and compressor with a new system. We had long had a problem with inadequate heat in that part of the house, and Sila alone out of the bidders suggested a more powerful furnace. They were able to source a furnace with a downward flow, significantly simplifying our ducting and freeing up space accordingly. The installation was quick and efficient, and their carpenter created a new return and sealed off our old return so that it was invisible. The system has been running well for two years now. I was impressed by Silas professionalism, and would recommend them.
My wife and I were panic stricken last night at 9pm when we realized our heat was out and the interior temperature was dropping. Our baby was sleeping and his room temperature had dropped 10 degrees in over an hour.Our rental agency was closed for New Years and our outlook was depressing.Luckily Abe (Super Abe as we have coined him) came to our house by midnight and resolved our situation quickly and professionally. He even changed out the filters, reset the system and reignited the air handler.My family is grateful that Abe took time away from his family to help ours, we will call him directly if anything happens in the future.Thank you Super Abe!!!
Annual a/c maintenanceKurt was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient....even though a $69.00 checkup turned into $800.......I feel the $69 is almost a bait and switch........I have never had a service call from sila that was actually the price offered up front .......they always seem to find some additional problem .......the unit is 31/2 yrs old........purchased from sila.........Amazing that it needed such a pricey fix to make it top notch
Been a customer for many years. I like the techs that come out; they provide good service. I had a problem caused by a bathroom contractor that accidentally threw out a small round outlet for my high velocity air system. Part UPC-56B/57/58 Round Outlets (have a look), a small plastic piece that probably cost between $2 and $10 (at the most). So I called SILA to see if I can get a replacement. They wont sell or give me one. The offer to have a technician come out for $149 +tax to assess the situation. I offer to come pickup the piece (sorry it does not work that way). Draw your own conclusions about whether you want to do business with this company.
We had Marco Ferreira and his awesome team at SILA install a Space Pak system last year right before the summer heat became bad in NY. We have a 100+ year old house with about 2500 sq ft. We are so glad we chose to do Space Pak as well as going w SILA to install. They did a great job, were super efficient, clean and courteous. They installed it fairly quickly with no issues. There was some minor damage to a curtain rod they took down but they were quick to compensate us for it and apologetic which we appreciated. The Space Pak system is really great and we are so glad to have it. It cools down the house in minutes and we actually keep the temp fairly high at 77-78 and it still keeps the house super comfortable. So far so good. Hopefully the system lasts a long time and keeps us cool for years to come.I highly recommend the friendly and knowledgeable Marco and his team at SILA!
The appointment was for 8:00 to 12:00. I was told by making it 8-12, I would be first of the day as opposed to a 9-1 choice. I waited till 11:30 am and called. I was told the tech was on his way from Eastchester. He arrived at 12:30!Very unacceptable! I lost an entire day instead of a half day!!!The tech was very good, once he arrived!
Do not agree to let the salesman into your home without getting estimates from other companies first they will come in your home and small monoxide then shut down your heater without servicing it. Then slap a sticker saying do not operate when all I need is a little maintenance to get your heater running. They try to scare you so they can install a brand new one for $12,000. then they will bring a salesman into your house. . If I had known I would’ve gotten a few more estimates before hand because it is way too expensive.
A strange company to say the least. Somehow, the expertise they have, gets lost in the business model. Dont expect them to be cheap. They do have the knowledge to get the job done right, but as with every thing in the service industry... DO NOT PAY until the whole job is completed, and everything they have done, or guarantee is in IRON clad writing. I am guessing from what I have seen that they have professional guys working for them, but do not pay them well enough, so they do not get 100% from them. Or some how their staff do not respect the owners or management.. so give them sub standard performance. Its hit or miss, if you use them just be business smart.
Sila looked great initially, the Project Manager / Salesperson Marco was initially attentive and full of suggestions and Sila appeared very professional in their overall presentation. This shine wore off fairly quickly though.The condenser they installed blocked a window when I had previously been told it would fit under the window. After the install I also found out that they had not closed out the permit despite me prompting them to do so. When I tried to chase them down I was never able to speak to the Project Manager again, I was directed to numerous other people, many of which were of no help and did not return my calls or do anything noticeable to get the permits closed properly.Eventually much later after I had to make many more calls to Sila someone did make some progress with the permit closure and they informed me it was now complete but shortly after that I received paperwork from the town informing me that the permit is still open.Awful post-sales customer service. If you are going to pick Sila for your job make sure everything is done before you give them the payment because its hard to get anyones time and attention after that.
On November 4 last your technician, Juan C. Saguicela came for an appointmentto winterize my furnace. He was courteous and extremely mindful of being carefulin carrying in his equipment and accoutrements. He patiently explained all the ap-plications he performed on my furnace. He was particularly considerate knowingthat this was my first experience without my recently deceased husband. You arefortunate to have such an upright employee. When next I require this servive I willrequest that Juan comes to perform the work. Sincerely.
Last October I called for an Annual Service for my Boiler. [ So, they send the same guy who the previous Summer told me that my CAC Unit they (SILA) installed 5 years ago was at the End of its natural Life and I would need a new Unit soon. LOL.] Now this drama king comes running up my stairs hysterical--telling me he has to shut the Boiler down due to Carbon Monoxide etc. and hell send a Sales Rep right over because I need a new Boiler. I called another Company and they came over and was able to fix the problem.Also, if you do call them (and I never will again) make at least two Appointments as they always seem to cancel the first one.
Do not fall for their AC tune up offer , after the 15 point inspection the service guy gave us the option to replace a part and overcharged us 10 times the cost of the part . A total rip off if you are not paying attention . Avoid this place , there are much better experts at reasonable costs .

2021-12-21The installation took longer than expected, but they did a really nice job. They returned a couple times to perform additional insulation/air-gap sealing and remote temperature sensor installation. The maintenance guys have always done a thorough job and addressed any issues noted during their inspection. The installers/maintenance guys have always been nice and helpful and interested in doing the right job.

2021-11-17This is going to read like a paid advertisement, but that’s only because Sila absolutely knocked it out of the park. I checked with three separate companies before deciding to go with Sila for my home’s mini split system, and I am 100% confident I made the right choice. Although Sila was not the lowest cost option, their knowledge and professionalism was on display from the first site visit up through the final billing.All personnel, from the original salesperson, to the folks in the office, to the foreman and installers, were polite and professional. They even dealt with my very over excited dog without complaints. They returned my calls, showed up exactly when they said they would, treated my home with respect (booties on their shoes, carpets over all flooring, the works), and cleaned up everything when they left.The foreman and installers were clearly experts, and went out of their way to install the units in locations that my wife and I preferred, even when those locations were not the most convenient.When one of the units we had ordered did not end up fitting as we’d hoped, we switched to a different, lower cost unit. One phone call of less than five minutes after the installation was complete was all it took to get the difference refunded. No hassle, no BS, just honest professionals.I can’t recommend this company highly enough. You wont be disappointed!

He was great about explaining the items he was checking for our annual AC maintenance as well as the reasons for a repair that was needed and the possible options. He did not pressure me to complete all of the recommended repairs; he simply listed the options and explained which ones were most critical to ensure continued operation of our air conditioning unit.

2022-06-20We got many quotes for a high-velocity central AC system in our 1923 Tudor. SILA was the most pragmatic and professional, and managed to offer really competitive pricing. The system was installed 3 years ago, and they’ve been back each year to provide free maintenance (5 years included with the system). They’re always on time, send a pic of the tech that’s coming, do a thorough job, and are courteous and clean throughout. I cannot recommend them more.

2022-03-24I was having issue w/ smart thermostat and called sila to come service. They said no problem. Could come out the next day. What they neglected to mention was they don’t workOn oil furnaces. This was never mentioned when I called nor was I asked what the thermostat in question was connected to.The technician Ivan was great. Very nice and professional and attempted to have the diagnostic fee waived. But he was overruled.I understand wanting to be compensated for the time to come out to the house, but seems kinda shady they don’t let you know this ahead of time. $205 for someone to tell me they won’t even attempt to fix the issue is a little much for me to think acceptable.

I was interested in what he was doing, so he either showed me the photos/videos he took and explained or he showed me directly on the unit and explained what was good or bad. He was very thorough checking every unit inside and outside the house. There was no hard sell at the end, he shared some options and offered his honest opinion when asked.

The pricing came out to be best and with 5 years maintenance included. The installation when well but there is some hiccup and it got resolved. The technicians were very courteous, professional and very good. I would recommend Sila to anyone and everyone.
