Really only has coffee and tea but If you want somewhere to meet someone or bring your laptop and get some work done this place does the job. The coffee is a little pricey. $4 for a regular nothing special deli style drip coffee but I guess you are paying for the ambience:)
The front end of the cafe has a nice, quiet vibe to it if youre trying to grab a cup of coffee, or enjoy some delicious bubble tea that they offer. Theres also a section in the farther back of the cafe called Silk Road Gaming. Its a section dedicated to trading card games that they carry. There are regulars that come and play casually, and every so often there are small tournaments held (with the proper guidelines followed for indoor spaces).
Their kind people! I have been a customer for twenty years. The management does many good things for the community. Im not Chinese Italian and I respect the community. Their tea is excellent and the service is good. Better than Flushing or Brooklyn. They are family friendly and treat their customers with respect. It a good venue.
A cozy spot found in the craziness of Chinatown. Definitely caters to the younger generation living and coming into the area. It was a nice place to enjoy tea, study, and relax.Would recommend this place for meetups, dates, and a place to study.I haven’t tried the coffee, but the teas were top notch. Little pricey, but keep in mind that they’re sold as a pot. Remember, also that you can fill it up with hot water again to continue enjoying the tea. Just ask the owners.
Great atmosphere, friendly owner (looks family owned), fits into the historic atmosphere of chinatown. A very homely cafe with well priced and delicious drink. Be sure to visit for some good drink or take a rest stop while youre nearby. A good first visit.Ordered Green tea boba with milk. Out of all the boba shop tried in NYC, this is so far the best with distinct jasmine green tea base and elastic boba. Such good quality tea is hard to come by in town, let alone in a cafe where you can sit and relax. 10/10 and would definitely visit in the future. Lovely place.
Really good coffee (of the regular espresso/latte kind) and and a nice cozy interior with the sound of the Espresso machine and the tinkle of cups in the background and quick, good service. Refreshingly, there is none of the pretentiousness of people sitting around with laptops while you look for a table. Maybe because they have proper tables and chairs :-). Nice Chinatown surprise!!
Cozy and not too busy. There are plenty of tables and chairs. Has wifi and bathroom. There is no time limit on how long you can stay depending on how much you purchase. Overall, they have good selection of caffeinated drinks and some pastries. I stayed about 3 to 4 hours and got a lot of work finished.
Zero class and zero manners. Today on Tuesday at 1:30pm. I visited the place hoping to connect for an hour. Upon entrance there was a line to order so I figured I would use the restroom first. The person on duty yelled across the room to demand I place an order first at which time I said I would be good for it. He threw a fit and demanded I order first or else. He embarrassed me, himself, and his establishmentLet this 1-star rating be a learning lesson for the owners of this place.
Every time I come to Chinatown for dinner I stop by this lovely little tea shop for a pot or two of tea. Aside from how reasonably priced it is at only $6 a pot, they have some of the most delicious blends Ive ever had. Id particularly recommend their orange oolong, vanilla lemongrass, and date longan and wolfberry teas. Each sip is a delight. Great for a group or if youre just looking to get some work done over a pot of delicious tea.
I bought a pastry and sat down, then went up to ask for a glass of tap water. The same server kindly started to fill a cup for me, but then the manager stopped her and told me that they sell bottled water, and do not provide tap water. Very rude, to a paying customer! Not coming back.
Horrible, awful place. Do NOT come here. I had ordered a drink and the people working were so incredibly rude- I had sat down for a moment to stir the drink and they barked at my friends and I to either buy more or leave. Coffee was not good at all, waste of money and bad experience.
I felt very comfortable and relaxed, we asked for a tea and they served us a pitcher, very tasty indeed, it is a place where there are pure boys with their laptops doing their homework, very comfortable and spacious, the service is good, the place is clean, prices are regular.

2021-11-15Unexpected finds sometimes are the best! We walked in for coffee in the morning and were charmed by the little place. Big choice of coffees and teas. We also had delicious pork dumplings. Definitely recommend this quiet place in the heart of Chinatown

2021-10-21Nice ambience, good coffee, te selection. Relaxed music. Only be aware that if you want a “real” cup instead the “to go” cup let them know in advance…..

2021-06-28Ordered a lemon tea iced, and went in expecting a black tea with lemon and got this drink, which I surprisingly ended up enjoying a lot! Kinda tasted more like lemonade than tea but still very refreshing on this hot day. Also, excellent prices for Manhattan. We got this and an iced coffee for less than $10. Enjoyed the choice of a colored straw!:)

2022-05-01Ive been here a few times, but on this last visit when I ordered a HK milk tea, they gave me regular light milk tea. When I asked them about it they acted like I didnt understand what it was and tried to explain that what they served me was normal... But I frequently order the same drink from other local places, and I used to live in HK! Maybe their herbal teas are worth it, but this totally tasted like Lipton tea bags and milk.If the owner sees this message I suggest you try HK milk tea from Yin Ji Chang Fen around the corner to see what you should actually be aiming for. I wish there was somewhere decent to go sit down and hang out that wasnt alcohol, but I guess Ill have to keep searching.

2019-12-19In the mood for a pleasant and restful coffee break while shopping and sightseeing in NYC’s Chinatown? Then the Silk Road Café is the perfect place to relax while observing the busy hustle and bustle outside on Mott Street. The interior is a lovely, open space with large tables with modern and asian decor. Western style coffee is served, as well as a full range of teas, pastries and bagels. Truly a genuine New York gem.

2019-03-31We loved this place! Tea is really delicious (try different mixes prepared on the spot) , but be aware that you will not get your ginger tea if the waitress doesnt like ginger 🙄🤣
