SILVIA in other cities:
My partner and I visited the Catskills a few weeks ago and went to SILVIA to celebrate our anniversary. Everything we ate and drank was absolutely fantastic, and there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The whipped butter with pita was delectable and especially memorable. Additionally, the atmosphere was intimate but lively and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back next time we visit the area!
It is a wonder how an experience that started so high could end so low. We came for an enjoyable valentine’s day treat. The atmosphere, music and drinks were high caliber parts of our experience at Silvia. The Wood fired pita bread was finger licking good until the last drop of pita (with about 70% of the dip left to go). The disappointment came in the form of our entrees. The trout filet took more of the cooking than the rice and vegetables did. The rice is still stuck in our teeth. The dry aged steak sounded good enough to order but wish i hadn’t. For the elevated market price of a steak I would be hesitant to give my dog, I would deter anyone I know about making the same mistake. The staff was resentful and offered condolences in the form of dessert and pricing fixtures but it was not enough to see myself walking into Silvia’s again. Disappointment soon took the place of excitement on our way out of the door.
Silvia disappointed me. I was expecting to find more vegan options based off previous reviews, but was sadly mistaken. A kale salad and a take on plant-based (mushroom) pate aren’t exactly my ideal version of “fine dining”. The front of house were very friendly, but the kitchen staff and chef didn’t seem to be willing to accommodate or allow for substitutions. Unfortunately, this prevents us from giving them another try until their menu appears more inclusive.I would like to add that my family member enjoyed the pita starter and cauliflower entree, and I highly recommend the raw cheesecake dessert!
Absolutely deliciously prepared appetizers and entrees. My fiance and I shared the kale and Shredded Brussel sprout salad, along with the grilled wild shrimp. The salad was the star though. I got the steelhead trout fillet, while my fiance had the seared dry diver scallops and they were out of this world! Lastly, the service was excellent and the waiting staff was very attentive. Would happily recommend!
The food doesnt match the cute place. My wife ate trout and I ordered pork chops. According to my wife, the trout was completely flavorless. My pork chops were 20% meat and 80% bone, on top of a watered beans. We ordered Burata as appetizer, and it was good. They serve only homemade sodas as soft drinks and it was really bad. The waitress was nice when she took the order, but then she disappeared in that tiny place. We thought that she was probably eating or something like that. Disappointed!
Pet friendly outdoor deck with a cozy atmosphere in walking distance to the center. The service was impeccable and fast and the food was phenomenal! I really recommend the Korean bbq beef and pita bread appetizers, they were amazing. For entrees my wife and I ordered the trout and the chicken with patatas bravas as a side to share; they were equally as great and the portions were unexpectedly large. Would recommend to anyone, perfect for a romantic dinner.
Pretty good food. Interesting menu. Great service. We ordered late on a Saturday (8:30pm) and the steak cut on the menu was gone by then so they offered a similar meal with a different cut. We had two at out table and one was significantly smaller than the other. The smaller one was way overcooked but the food didnt come out until 10pm or so and we didnt really want to continue waiting. Unfortunate circumstances.Everything else was good. They have biodynamic, natural, and organic wines too.Outdoor heated seating with a roof to protect during wet weather is a win.
We visited Silvia’s on a Friday evening. The food was delicious. The service was wonderful. We ordered so many delicious dishes. The drinks were unique and delicious. I highly recommend their home made sodas. The beet salad was fabulous! The patatas bravas were incredible! And the best dish of the evening was the Jerusalem artichoke soup!
Hard to describe. The food is absolutely out of this world. There is nothing that we had that we didnt love, including a mean Old Fashioned. If I had a gun to my head I would have to say the cauliflower schnitzel was the best, but so was the lentil pate, the chicken, the brussels sprouts.... you know what, just go
After dining here several times, this last experience left me surprisingly underwhelmed by the food and limited wine selection. The pork was dry and the brussels sprouts undercooked. The grilled pita comes with a mountain of whipped butter that most of which goes to waste. Skip the fish soup. Bland with little fish and too much fennel. I usually love this place and know they can do much better. Service on the other hand gets 5 stars.
Great atmosphere inside and out. It mightve been a little noisy inside, however we ate outside and were very happy about that choice. The food was quite delicious. I enjoyed an old fashioned and it was made perfectly. We enjoyed the smoked beets, the grilled wild shrimp, grilled Halloumi and watermelon along with the gem lettuce and pear salad. Our entrees were delectable as well. The Arctic Char was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The steamed mussels were amazing. For dessert, we had the chocolate lavender pots de creme. It is basically a chocolate mousse, but it did have more of a texture to it. If you enjoy chocolate, this is a perfect ending to your experience at Silvia.I highly recommend and would return if looking for a great dining choice in the area.
Silvia is a restaurant that means well but doesn’t quite meet in the middle. The decor is gorgeous, the visuals clean and tidy, and the menu looked nice too. Even the service was moderately decent. However, Silvia is a place that sadly doesn’t quite meet expectations. The food is subpar at best. The buratta was pretty disappointing with flavorless figs, and the Dino kale salad was almost inedible. When the steak came out at a whopping $60, it wasn’t even worth it. When looking at our whole meal at the end, the chicken in miso broth and the shrimp appetizer were the only thing worth it. The drinks, including the homemade soda (no ginger ale or ginger drink to be seen), were also disappointing. It makes me sad to think that such a gorgeous space, with lovely waitstaff have to try to sell such mediocre food. $280 for three people with tip, simply put, is not worth it. Just go somewhere else in the area.
Incredible flavor pairings and ambience. The watermelon and halloumi was an incredible pallette experience, the beet cinnamon soda was so unique and fun, I really cant say enough about the chicken shnitzel (in a word, perfect - balanced flavors, expertly executed, sauce was flavorful and portioned perfectly on the dish, and the lemon gave it everything it needed to make my pallette dance). The brussel sprouts were a solid dish. Hubby got the pork chop, which was cooked well but wasnt super exciting - a good dish for someone looking for a basic dish. The pork in the beans on the pork chop gave it a nice something extra. Beautiful interior and overall a wonderful night here. Their patio, though we didnt try it, looked beautiful - something to try on the next beautiful summer night!
Words cannot describe how incredible this restaurant is. From the service, outdoor seating, to the food, everything is top notch. You can literally not go wrong with ordering any dish on the menu because everything’s so good. Make sure to try their mock/cocktails. Farm to table has never been so good.
First time to Woodstock and our airbnb host highly recommended us to have dinner one night at Silvia. I know why! As soon as we walked in there was good ambiance. We came in for date night but perfect for small gatherings as well. Nice selection of cocktails and food. We chose the Korean BBQ as our app, entree korean bibimbap and my bf chose the pork chops. We thought everything was delicious. Don’t forget dessert! Soo good the pot a creme was our favorite. Service was excellent and so cool to watch the chefs in an open kitchen. Will come back again!
Excellent excellent place for dinner. They have both, inside and outside, seating. If you don’t have a reservation, like we didn’t, you can sit at a bar and they will text you once your table is ready. Menu has an interesting selection of items, and everything we tried tasted superb. The only minor thing was that I could taste sand in my clams but otherwise everything else was great. Staff is professional and knowledgeable. I really enjoyed the restaurant’s atmosphere and would definitely recommend it to my friends.
Charlie is great and so helpful. What an absolutely stellar place to dine in the heart of Woodstock. Great selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. The atmosphere is hip and fresh with a lovely parlor vibe. The kitchen is beautiful and open and the food reflects that. If I could give SILVIA 10 stars I would.Thank you for the great meal for our #GirlsGoneMild Weekend!
If you’re into 2003/2009 Nancy Meyers crossed with someone’s soft reggae Spotify playlist, then this is the place for you. I am not into listening to UB4O while eating cauliflower schnitzel on a bed of sautéed roughage for $28. I should take off a star for the almond olive oil cake that was: not an olive cake; had honey inexplicably drizzled over it; and served straight from the refrigerator. But it was a birthday dinner and I had no input, so.
Formerly Not Fade Away, this modern restaurant stands out amongst Woodstock dining. It does border on pretentious, but the staff brings that vibe right back down to earth. Great people work here. I ordered the half chicken and part of it was undercooked. The manager quickly offered to make it right. Looking forward to heading back here again soon.
Such a very good restaurant. Absolutely delicious, complex vegetarian food that satisfies both The Gourmet and the Health Conscious. Im happy to report that the side salad was large and satisfying and the greens had a lot of strong chewy body which I really appreciated. I was very impressed by the mushroom, vegan pate that was very close in flavor to a true organ meat pate. Astonishing, Satisfying, Delicious. Good value. Great service. Deserves 10 stars!
We made reservations at Sylvias for five on a Wednesday. It was not busy; we asked the host for a table in the corner. He said no, then we requested another table, he said no again. He was very unpleasant. We left, did not like the atmosphere. The prices are not cheap. If you are paying so much for a meal it is important to be in a pleasant environment. We will never go back.
I have eaten here 4 times. Service is always impeccable whether we are at a table or being served at the bar. Wait staff is kind and accommodating. The food has always been top notch. However the 20 oz rib eye I split with my partner last night was a disappointment. It was smaller than expected for 20 oz even accounting for the bone in. It was also over cooked. The side of broccolini was tasty but not hot (room temp), and almost too charred for my liking. For a $90 steak dinner I also expected a potato or carb side (theres no bread at the table). The wine list and cocktail creations were excellent. And again the wait staff was spot on.
The dining experience at Silvia is one I thought I could only find in NYC. The food is fresh, local, and delicious. The service is fantastic and the ambience is great, featuring an open kitchen concept. Im not a drinker, but as a former drinker I can safely say that the wine list and cocktail menu are top-notch. Worth the drive from anywhere.
Possibly the best restaurant in Woodstock! In a town known for great food, this place stands out. They’ve perfectly balanced rustic and chic, the menu is fantastic and locally sourced, the food itself was perfection and the service is so polished. Silvia is our new favorite restaurant not just here, but anywhere!
Boyfriend and I came here one night of a quick upstate getaway last year and ended up loving it so much we went back a second night in a row. After a year of dreaming about the food, we went back last night yet again and it did not disappoint. This place is the definition of balanced, delicious, unassumingly cultivated meals. From the drinks(the smoked beet marg is 🔥) to the apps(that mushroom pate tho) to the entrees(get the smoked beets theyre insane), everything here is just mouthwateringly tasty. Top that all off with wonderfully attentive and fun service from the very personable staff! Im not kidding when I say weve been excited for a year to come back upstate for Sylvia. Cant wait for our second dinner here later this week 🤣🤤Covid note: everyone was thoughtful and careful to socially distance. They ask that you wear your mask when not at your table and when the waiter comes to take the order. The outdoor dining space is somehow very well spaced out while still feeling warm and cozy thanks to the well-placed firepits and heat lamps. God is there anything Sylvia cant do 🤣
Woodstock is lovely and this atmosphere is great. The steak was really over cooked and I tried to send back after a couple of bites. The manager brought it back to me and said, under the light its medium rare and in middle. It was Very burnt on edges and about 1/3 of the streak was well done, while 1/3 was medium and a 1/3 medium rare.No side options. Had to do a charred broccoli with the steak that was also charred. Left with burnt on the mind and a very overpriced aged steak on from the chef and the grill.
Incredible food. Our family just celebrated our 50th anniversary here. They really dont cater to children but the server made excellent suggestions for both our 7 and 3 year old grandchildren. The fish was amazing and the mushroom pate incredible. All 8 of us were happy with our food including our vegan son.
I cant say enough good things about this place. The service was exquisite. We were lucky to have Maureen as our server. In addition to having a lovely demeanor, she is also a wine expert and she did an amazing job of pairing different wines with each course we ordered. As for the food, it was far better than I expected, and I had high expectations. The steelhead trout was the best Ive ever had and the appetizers were all fresh and flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the beets. Cant wait to return!
The food was excellent. The table shared a large steak and it was the best beef Ive had in years and Im not a beefeater generally. All the other dishes including the steelhead trout were fabulous. Our waiter was beyond good I would say he was memorable .... really excellent and enthusiastic. If I had to say anything negative I would say that if you dont like cilantro and you dont like things that are too peppery then you will have a more limited choice from the menu
We had a great experience at Sylvia after a brisk day of hiking in the area. The ambience was elevated/modern but cozy. The food and service was incredible. We got the grilled haloumi with squash, Korean bbq lettuce wraps, kale salad, roasted beet, and smoked/brine chicken. The haloumi, beet, and chicken were the highlights. Also, very tasty cocktails, we got a mezcal mule with star anise. Finished with a very yummy moist GF citrus olive oil cake. We will be back! 🤗
I wasnt sure what to expect. The place was packed and I got a decent welcome. Had a late supper on my own and they found me a nice table. My waitress Katie H was attentive but also unobtrusive. The service was excellent.I had a burger with salad, a glass of the white Bourgogne, and the olive oil citrus almond cake (which is gluten free.)The meat was high quality and cooked perfectly to my order. Although I requested no cheese and they forgot. Not a problem as I simply scraped it off easily. The salad was very fresh and the dressing was light and simple. All very good. The wine was lovely. The burger came with a cole slaw which was super tasty. It did have some fresh jalapeno in it so be warned.I enjoyed watching the staff in the open kitchen quietly and competently doing what they do, with no apparent drama. Also for people-watching this is the place to be, as the beautiful people are out in droves 🙂 but not obnoxiously so.The atmosphere is one of understated elegance and taste. There seems to be a loyal clientele. This is not a place for quiet conversation. It gets pretty loud, but everything else was so amazing I could block out the noise and focus on the great food.I rarely get dessert, but was tempted by the cake as shown below. Ive had similar before and this was beautiful. Dont miss it! It is a treat to dine in a place where the folks in the kitchen really know what they are doing.Thank goodness I dont live nearby or I would spend way too much money here! 😁
Good, not excellent. Service was amazing. Exceedingly pretentious. Substitutions will be politely declined. Overall, it was good dont get me wrong, but the vibe was all wrong for this area, this space, and this food. I was there with folks I adored, so it was a great experience, but I couldnt help but thinking about how this eatery is posing as a Michelin 5 star. Ive been to a Michelin 5 star who did not take themselves this seriously. Seriously. Back off a bit. Please?
I’ve been coming here since it opened and it never lets me down. I live in Stone Ridge, and Silvia may be my favorite restaurant in a 1 hour driving radius (it’s only 25 min from me). The decor and ambience is on point; I love the live plants and flower arrangements, as well as the furniture and lighting choices. Their cocktail menu and wine selection is creative and delicious. Then of course the food is delicious. On my most recent visit in April, I really enjoyed their heirloom tomato salad. I always enjoy their bibimbap.
One of the real gems of Woodstock. Team is professional and welcoming top to bottom. It is just as much a pleasure to stand and watch the well oiled machine in the open kitchen as it is to hear your server describe the freshly sourced ingredients and recommend their favorites. Vegetarian options are especially well done here (seasonal mushroom dish on menu as of Sept 21 is excellent) but if you are a carnivore and the brined pork chop is on the menu, do it -- next level tender and delicious. Well-worth the planning necessary to get a reservation.
Well appointed room with great staff and a bustling but calm vibe. Beautiful outdoor space rivaled only by the indoor dining room. We were a larger group so tried a huge amount of the inventive yet accessible menu. Really a dreamy set of options to explore. A meal and service experience to revisit again when next we are in Woodstock.
We loved our recent dinner and would recommend to any friend visiting Woodstock. Lovely service (very patient with our toddler), and simply delicious food, on a beautiful outdoor deck/terrace. We especially enjoyed the halloumi and watermelon appetizer and the scallops. Cocktails were great, too.
Over rated and buyer beware.1) Host? ( hopefully not the manager) claimed we didn’t have a reservation and condescendingly implied we had lost our marbles and probably made our reservation at some other restaurant. When we found proof of our online “Resy” reservation magically he found our reservation in his system under a different last name (not possible using the Resy system)He never apologized and he tried to seat us at a terrible table in the dark dingy bar area. When we refused that table suddenly they found a decent table for us. Maybe they sensed we were ready to walk out.The whole thing did not add up and felt like we were being scammed. End game ? to fill up the ugly bar area and save the dining room tables for bigger parties?“Coincidentally” we over heard him trying to convince someone on the phone that their reservation was actually for the previous night but he would do his best to get them a good table…. Bet they got seated in the dingy bar area, too.2) Steak on dinner menu is not as listed online….it’s now “market priced” ….at $90.00 (our theory is it’s market priced based on what kind of cars are parked on the side street next to the restaurant …” market priced” meaning how much will the customer pay? Really, who “market prices” a steak ? It’s not a seasonal product.)4) Food was okay but everything had a Woodstock signature… one ingredient that is trendy but not necessarily a good fit… one of us is a CIA chef and the other a Registered Dietitian/ Nutritionist… so we know food.We know the difference between the advertised pickled broccolini ( advertised on pork chop dish) and the sloppy broccoli rabe subbed for it.Overpriced for what was served.Be sure to check out the prices of the bottles of wine online before ordering. The mark up is pretty amazing.5) Service was good and hoping that our server didn’t have to share her tip with that host (?)Bottom Line: Not a 4 or 5 star restaurant despite the good reviews. It’s a three star restaurant. It’s not “ all that and a bag of chips” like it pretends to be and trying to “get over” on customers taints the whole experience.P.S. American Express ( owner of Resy online system) is currently investigating how our reservation was handled.
Really nice spot! Great atmosphere and friendly, cheerful staff. We did get seated by the rest rooms early on which seemed somewhat unnecessary. But they moved us happily when we requested it. The food was all quite tasty though I think I found the appetizers all more enjoyable than the main but that’s maybe what I deserve for ordering a burger. Definitely worth a visit here.
Annoying dinner with two friends last night. Service was smart and professional but food was just ok - my pork main was not a very good cut. However most aggravating was brassy horn music that played throughout making conversation a challenge. Music did not vary and we breathed a sigh of relief when we left. Looking for fine dining option in Woodstock area but this is not it.
Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had… everything was perfect, from the minute we sat to the minute we left....We had a party of 8, 6 adults and 2 kids… you would think that your order would take a while but not at all. The food arrived quickly. And almost altogether so that you are not eating one dish by one dish….Since we had a decent sized party, we pretty much ordered most of the appetizers and 4 entrees to share family style...I can’t even say I have a favorite because everything was just that good….In no particular order, we got the grilled corn, heirloom tomato salad, pita with honey butter, grilled shrimp, shisito peppers, grilled shrimp, kale salad for starters….For mains, we offered (2) of their smoked & brined chicken, wood smoked pork chop and steelhead trout filet….Dessert, chocolate lavender pots de creme, citrus olive oil cake and Turkish delight panna cotta…..They have an open kitchen concept so you see the cooks/chefs in action. So, check out @silviawoodstockny in Woodstock is a must if you’re in the vicinity… and highly recommend reservations, my friend made these a month in advance
High-end prices with absolute classless service, especially by the manager and the chef. They both clearly struggle with aggression issues. They tried to convince and then insult me for refusing to accept a medium steak when I ordered rare. If you have $70 steak on the menu, you better be able to know how to cook it, without a digital thermometer. The bathrooms are always disgusting as well.
This restaurant has a beautiful, sleek interior and a welcoming vibe. The staff and are friendly and provide good service. The food was delicious and the ingredients were fresh and well seasoned. I recommend the pork chop and the beets were delicious with the right amount of spice and a smoked flavor. The only thing I would change (and this is minor) is the music that was playing. It was odd listening to Interpol and Franz Ferdinand while eating a 32 dollar entrée at a candle lit table.
I love Silvia, everything I’ve tried on the menu has been amazing. We’ve dined in quite a few times - date nights, friends dinners and when my family was visiting from overseas. It has always been a great meal and experience. We’ve also had take out during Covid lockdowns and eaten outside when outdoor dining reopened, both were great too.Highly recommend coming here!
An absolutely first rate restaurant experience. We visited Silvia deep into Covid times. All staff followed the rules to the letter. Not only that everyone who worked there was a delight. Friendly, knowledgeable, and above all, fun. We had two appetizers, a salad, two entrees, and two desserts, all of which were superb or better. Cooking was intelligent and creative, without getting whacky. The wine list was exceptional, and the waitstaffs knowledge of both the food and the wine was outstanding. A restaurant like this is a rare joy, and it does not happen by accident. Huge kudos to the owners, management and staff for putting together a top notch team, hiring the right people, training them brilliantly and coming up with something truly fabulous. We will be finding excuses to travel the three hours it takes to visit again
I’ve already made plans to return. Very trendy restaurant, with rotating menu of high quality in season items. I had a mushroom dish which I dubbed a “mushroom steak dinner,” for how savory of an experience it was. Outdoor and indoor seating options but do make a reservation because they are even packed on weeknights.
Worst service Ive ever had. I booked a table for my girlfriends birthday tonight. We were seated at a table in the corner of the outdoor section that was on a considerable slant, but that would have been fine if we werent treated like an afterthought the rest of the night. We ordered 2 apps, one came wrong. We ordered 2 entrees... instead of the chicken my girlfriend ordered, she got the trout. At this point were told the chicken would take another 25 minutes. Just totally unacceptable for a restaurant like this. I know were in Woodstock, but our waiter Josiah must have been really stoned even by those standards. Honestly one of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had despite the food being good. They were aware it was my girlfriends birthday, and the staffs friends engagement at the table next to ours clearly took all of their focus. Very disappointing experience overall.
What a spectacular restaurant. The food is perfectly executed (highly recommend the Turkish Delight Panna Cotta for dessert!!), the staff are friendly and professional, and watching the cooks in the open kitchen is so inspirational. I loved the food here. Cant wait to go back
Such a fun dinner! The food seems a bit confusing at first but everything is locally sourced and really fresh. Even their cocktails were well balanced and tasteful. Our server was so friendly and knowledgable about the food and really had fun with us throughout our meal, she was informative without being intrusive. Had a great time there and recommend to anyone in the area.
There were 5 of us for dinner. We were pretty hungry and had 4 appetizers, 5 entrees and 2 desserts. Every single dish was exceptional. The service was just as exceptional.I have a food allergy, garlic, which I told my waitress about. They went above and beyond in trying to accommodate me. They removed it from most dishes whenever it was possible. Every time a dish was brought out someone from the kitchen would come to our table and tell me if the dish was safe for me. I wish all restaurants, or even some, were this accommodating and attentive.I will definitely come back whenever I am in Woodstock.
PURE MAGIC. My first real dining experience in almost 5 months. Ive always loved this restaurant and was looking forward to going back. The food, cocktails, and wine were incredible. The staff was truly gracious and amazing. Very grateful for the experience during these stressful times. Thank you. xx
Great new addition to the area. The food is consistently excellent, and delivered as requested for dietary preferences and otherwise (They have a couple of really bangin vegan options - try the mushroom!!), and the service is very professional.Wonderful place for date night or to meet friends who are visiting from out of town, or local friends for a celebratory meal. I always recommend Sylvia to people who are new to the area for an experience in dining. It boasts a beautiful open kitchen where you can watch your meal being prepared from your seat.
During our recent romantic getaway to Woodstock, we made reservations at Silvia for a special birthday meal. It didnt disappoint! The food was excellent, the space was beautiful and the service was impeccable. We only had one side that was just slightly better than average and literally everything else -- apps, entrees, wine, dessert -- was phenomenal. And this is coming from picky New Yorkers. We will definitely be back!
My boyfriend and I came here last night to celebrate our anniversary and from the moment we walked in, SILVIA didn’t disappoint! The staff is so friendly and the space is beautifully decorated, it feels like home. The cocktail menu is so good, and the wine list is extensive and has something for every palate. For starters, we shared the naan and the kale and brussel sprouts salad, both of which knocked our socks off! For entrees, my boyfriend had the bibimbap with Korean BBQ (he said it was to die for), and I had the soba noodles with mushrooms. I don’t really like mushrooms, but I decided to give it a shot and it was incredible. The broth alone is spectacular. For dessert (which we barely had room for) we split the panna cotta—first time we both had it and we finished the whole plate it was so good.We don’t live anywhere near SILVIA, but we’re going to make it a point to return as soon as we can because we both enjoyed every moment of dining here. And I fully understand the implications of dining out during a pandemic, so if you do come here, please be safe, follow protocol, and tip these wonderful people well!
Silvias is set in a beautiful old home with a gorgeous interior. Lively restaurant with the kitchen in full view. Very unusual menu, we had the flat bread with chicken liver and another with butternut squash, both were really yummy. For our entrees we had the burger - really yummy, bouillabaisse (could of been better with a better bread), and the Korean Bibimbap - excellent! Service was friendly and timely. Wine and beer could have been colder. White wine for us was a bit too warm and red wine like it much better at 55 degrees. We are very fussy with our beer and wine and love it extremely cold. Loved the place and will definitely be back many more times.
My 5 stars go to the server not the establishment. Efficient, kind, helpful, but could have used a bit more real knowledge of what he was serving. Not his fault. Poor management? Food is creative and delicious, but way over priced for what you get. The wine list is amazing and reasonably priced. The environment and atmosphere of the restaurant is great even under the current covid situation. The manager is very rude quite frankly shouldnt have a job after how I was treated for a false accusation of smoking. I had an unlit pipe in my mouth and he swore he saw me light it. I showed him the unburned tobacco in my pipe but he still insisted. I was flicking my lighter. Not lighting my pipe. He ruined the evening for my wife and me as he very aggressively got in my face and kept pushing the issue. My wife left before me, not finishing the last half of a glass of $170 wine. Total bill with tip over $500. They lost a customer for life for this combination of reasons. Try the Red Onion. Its better and they deserve the business.
Outstanding! Decided to try this place after driving by many times and wondering about the food. It was a cold night and the atmosphere inside was very welcoming with a large fire going, and all the scents from the open kitchen. Dinner was excellent, definitely not inexpensive but I would highly recommend.
Very nice restaurant in Woodstock, NY. Right on the strip with all the other shops and restaurants. Indoor and covered outdoor seating. Got to sit outside, in the rain, and enjoy some excellent food. Appetizers and main courses were very good. Server was very knowledge and helped out with preferred wine selection as well. Highly recommended if youre in the vicinity.
If you want exceptional food, service, and ambiance then come here. Their menu is influenced subtly by what is available locally and that is a good thing. This place brings bold flavors. There is indoor and outdoor patio seating. Inside the brick ovens are in view. Making reservations on the weekends is a smart idea. No dedicated parking lot, but lots of street parking in front and behind the restaurant. They take credit cards and cash. Bathrooms are unisex and large, so they’re easily accessible to wheelchairs.
Kale salad, beet salad, trumpet mushroom plate and arctic char plate were all exceptional. My husband loved the key lime pie as well. Top notch service by all staff. Definitely a place we will come to on our next visit. Very unusual menu...we look forward to our next visit.
What a lovely place to have a special meal! The host staff were warm and inviting, definitely giving the feel that you were walking into someones home as opposed to a restaurant. We were sat in a cozy corner overlooking the bar and the wood stove, which we loved. The decor is elegant and eclectic, with an interesting variety of paintings on the wall. Our server was attentive, friendly, detail oriented, and had a wonderful sense of humor. We ordered the bread and korean bbq lettuce wraps to start. The butter and bread were out of this world delicious, and we greatly enjoyed the lettuce wraps. I ordered the Manhattan and my husband ordered the lavender/ginger specialty cocktail. He is not.a very big fan of drinks usually, but raved about how much he enjoyed it. For my main I ordered the pork chop, which was perfectly seasoned and juicy. I was a little disappointed with the vegetables, which I felt were underseasoned and had been made soggy with the aus jus from the pork. My husband loved his burger, but also felt his salad was under dressed/seasoned. I appreciate and understand wanting the natural flavor of the vegetables to shine through, but when they are served with a well seasoned and delightfully cooked piece of meat it needs to compliment the meat. Either way, we loved our experience and definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful meal and special evening out.
Didn’t catch the hosts name but he was absolutely wonderful. Had a great conversation with him and he was very attentive to our needs. The waitress that took our order was very accommodating and the food is absolutely divine. Highly recommended for the atmosphere, service, and food.
The restaurant was impeccably adorned, clean, possessed strategic seating arrangements, and a beautiful view of the grille (which smelled incredibly good). The serving staff, as well as the manager made us feel at home (the power of Trenton, NJ) and it was quite the show watching the bartenders making drinks. On to the food:The local bread appetizer included fantastic local made fresh bread with two types of pitted olives, sliced radish, and an amazing butter concoction which was so creamy and delicate, absolutely incredible. The other side of our appetizers included Korean BBQ beef on butter lettuce with perfectly spiced kimchi, garlic / scallion / ginger rub, and sliced radish. The main was a well done burger on a brioche bun adorned with coleslaw (which I usually hate but paired so well here) and a nice mayonnaise. The greens I had requested were fantastic but I was a little sad that they werent really dressed other than maybe a tablespoon of Italian-esque dressing (not entirely sure on that).14 out of 10, would come back but please season your veggies!

2022-01-25The best restaurant in Woodstock. If you go to one restaurant make it this one. From the modern yet cozy vibes, incredible food, and spectacular drinks this place does it all right. House aged steak was stellar as well.

2022-06-12One of my favorite restaurants in Woodstock. Great option for couples or families with vegetarians. Im not a strict vegetarian but enjoy well made food and this place has some of the best. Favorite is the mushroom and lentil pate and last night I had the zoodles and clams - both were awesome. My fiancé enjoyed the chicken schnitzel. Staff is always friendly.

2021-12-10This place is excellent. Great spot in Woodstock. Very cozy but also offers an outdoor area for seating. The food was very good - we had the pork chop, chicken, Brussels sprouts, pita bread, and the kale salad. Nothing disappointed. Everything was cooked to perfection with excellent taste. We also had the beet margaritas that were so very good!!Also, the staff were SO accommodating and SO nice. Such a personal touch that will make us definitely come back!

2021-11-07Place was okay. I had the 20 ounce steak but did not feel it was not worth the price. Had a nice charcoal flavor but did not have taste. Was missing something.Scallops were amazing but it was only 4.Oysters were great.Chicken was amazing. The sauce was amazing. If I coyly bottle that and put that on the steak it would have been awesome.LONG wait. But if your with good people, youll have a good time.

2021-12-14Lovely atmosphere. Food was delicious. We went in a Sunday night and it started to fill up around 7pm, so be sure to have a reservation.Pandemic dining: Staff was masked. There was a sign that stated proof of vaccination would be required starting December 13th

2021-10-31Loved everything about this place, from an open kitchen with enormous grill in the back that makes amazing steaks to the non-pretentious service and unexpectedly delicious dishes a la farm to table. Pork chop was cooked perfectly, juicy inside, smoky on the outside. Chicken with Asian flavors was also done in a way that makes you not hate white meat’s dry lack of flavor. I would skip the beet appetizer as it wasn’t very eventful. Still, would come back in a heartbeat.

2021-09-06Wonderful food and delicious cocktails! We had the orange jalapeño shrub fizz and the chamomile sour, they were incredible. The roussanne blend wine in the whites was wonderfully flavorful. The food all around was delicious, we shared a handful of dishes among our group, it was all delicious. The mushroom entree was spectacular. The corn on the cob was fantastic, the pork chop was great. The desserts were incredible, highly recommend the lavender pot de creme. Olive oil cake was delicious.

2021-12-15We went here for our anniversary and though I told Resy as such, the restaurant made zero mention of it, which I found highly disappointing. The service was very good, though at times inattentive--I had to catch her attention when our water bottle and both of our glasses were empty, for example. Still, she was very pleasant and the food was stellar--oysters perfectly shucked, mushroom pate really really delicious, pork chop delightfully charred.

2021-08-06What an amazing dinner last night! We had scallops, trout, smoked beets, lettuce wraps and mushroom-lentil pate. Dishes were well thought out and plated beautifully. If ever in Woodstock, NY - this is the place to eat.
