Sing Sing in other cities:
Short white man who claims he’s the manager was incredible aggressive towards our group. My friend who is from a foreign country and barely speaks english brought outside alcohol unknowing of the rules. This man yanked the bottle out of his mouth, chipping his tooth. Plenty of other karaoke bars in nyc
Great atmosphere, great service, and a great time! I celebrated my birthday here this weekend with 10 friends and we were all well taken care of by the servers and bar staff. There was a slight hiccup when the bar realized they’d overbooked our time slot and asked us to shift our reservation time, but they offered a substantial discount to compensate for this minor inconvenience. After a misunderstanding of how this discount would be applied, we were well taken care of by Drew, the manager. He went above and beyond to make sure that their promises were honored. Fantastic experience despite the minor confusion. We will be back!
It was 3:21 am and a man came to our room door to say they closed 12 min ago but the place closes at 4am and we didn’t break any rules. I’ve gone with friends plenty of times and tried to bring new people to experience and then to get lied to that the place was closed when people were drinking at the bar was a bit pathetic.
Tried calling for a reservation of ten people at a short notice (was asked to at the last minute). Instead of the woman on the phone being kind to let me know its not available, she laughed on the phone. I simply asked her to have a nice day and hung up. Wont be calling them again.
This place has a mix of open-mic karaoke and private rooms which is pretty uncommon. You can choose if you wanna mess around at the bar with other people or get one of the private rooms. Which are fairly reasonably priced. Song selection is good, and if you show up during happy hour the drinks are super cheap.
Staff member almost hit friend in the face trying to smack her phone out of her hand. Angry, self-righteous employee needs psychiatric help. He didnt want to give his name because he knew he was way out of line with our party. Ill be warning others to stay away because its clear how this establishment operates.
We had a group of 6 and rented out one of the private rooms. While we had a blast, the room was small and got hot very quickly, so I recommend wearing layers if you go in the winter. Other than that, the service was excellent, the song choices ranged from oldies but goodies to very current songs and the method of choosing songs was simple and convenient for all to use. We did comment that some props would make it more fun, but they werent necessary. The womens room was very clean, which I appreciated. We were also fascinated by the ceiling in our room (see photo below). Highly recommended and clearly a favorite as it was busy from the moment we walked in for our reservation and even busier when we left 2 hours later.
We rented a private room to sing karaoke. It was a lot of fun. You could order drinks from the bar. The bar waiter will bring the drinks to the room. The staff was very nice, helpful, and friendly. You are able to bring in your own food, or order from one of the companys preferred restaurant. The prices are not cheap. During certain times, you could sit at the bar and participate in karaoke, with a 1 drink minimum. When we were at the bar, 2 of the people had beautiful voices. Some were not that great. But all in all, it was a fun evening. I would do it again. Credit cards are accepted for the room and drinks with the room.
This is one of the few places in town where you can sing karaoke by the drink(at the bar with everyone), and not solely by the hour in a private room.Better to go here on quieter nights... Well not quiet but less crowded. The queue can reach over an hour on a Friday night! If you actually want to sing come on a week night or get a private room.Either way, there are really good cash prices. I just dont like the credit card tab minimum.
This place is a pillar of the neighborhood, i’ve seen movie stars and singers come in all the time its a real new york experience. The drink pours are generous and the vibes are good. The staff is always accommodating and are happy to get to know you and make you feel welcome. You can bring a lot of people here at once in the pvt rooms and you can get wild. My bill is always better than i think. Maybe they’ll serve hard seltzer soon if you nag them more.
I love karaoke and sing sing is such a good time that I went twice in one week!I enjoyed both the private room experience and singing at the main bar.Not a huge selection of beers but full shelf of liquor and friendly bartenders.Songs cost $2 each at the bar so it can get quite pricey if you keep putting in song after song (like I did).
This spot opens early and has a great happy hour special. $4 beers come with a song card at the bar. Bartenders are great and attentive. The place is a little on the shabby side phisically, especially the bathroom. As for the private rooms, I find the common karaoke practice of charging per person per hour odd. Why does the same room cost more when more people are in it?
My partner loves karaoke. Even though I dont sing into a mic often, I love singing along. I just dont have the lungs to project well. We checked out the Avenue A location and had a blast. Great song selection. More importantly, the crowd had decent taste as far as Im concerned.A few weeks later we visited the St. Marks location. It was well lit and nicer inside. We walked in to the crowd singing songs from Disneys Moana (I think). We waited a few songs but the taste that night just didnt fit our crowd; my friends visiting from Florida wanted to sing some Killers, Outkast, etc. so we eventually left and headed to the Avenue A location. Its more dive-y here, which I prefer when combined with drunkenness and karaoke. My group immediately felt at home and started requesting songs. Two for two so far.
Nice and cheap Yes , but a little too dim for me. Its Karaoke not a Romantic evening , more lights would be fun. They dont serve any food which is a no noBut the ability to bring your own is good. It would also be nice for karaoke videos to correspond the song choice exactly or have a blank screen behind the words. The remote control for song Input/selection was great however!
Nothing really special as far as karaoke bars go, but I like it well enough and they have really great room deals and happy hour specials during the day on weekends. So if youve just had a boozy brunch and want to belt out some tunes with your friends, this is the place to go.
Tip your bartenders that will pour heavy depending on their mood, tip your bartenders if you want your song to actually get played or bumped up, tip your bartenders if you want service in general. Good times, always a strange melting pot of characters in here. Service gets annoying when half of the bartenders seem more interested in you tipping then actually offering good service. Still, very fun.
The drinks here arent too expensive, which is great if youre the kind of person that needs a drink or two to loosen up before doing any karaoke. The private rooms for groups have a really cool theme or asthetic to them. Theres also the option of singing by the bar. Theres a huge selection of music to choose from. The system runs via finding a song your want to play on a tablet and adding it to the queue. The only bad thing I can say about it is that the karaoke app was a bit sluggish, making it annoying to use, especially if youre prone to making typos.
Pros:Reasonably priced alcohol.Okay sound system.Cons:Servers are very busy and not very responsive to calls.Song selection is very limited, and not very updated.Tablet to control songs would freeze or freak out now and then.Security is minimum; found men in the ladies bathroom who seemed up to no good.Rooms are not very sound-proof.Overall: Good place for drunk karaoke, but little else.
I never write reviews, but this place is despicable. Save yourself a bad music selection and a fraudulent business model and go to literally any other karaoke bar you can find. These people are practiced, conniving scammers. Their entire model is based on exploiting their unintelligible policy to extract absurd amounts of money from their customers. I cant emphasize enough how skeezy they are. I will go out of my way to make sure no one I care about ever visits this place.
Our group usually goes there when we visit NYC and our friend who lives in the city goes there all of the time. Tonight the equipment did not work and the man at the front desk was not responsive and very rude. The equipment broke down at least 3 times. The bouncer was also rude. Very poor customer service. We wont be back and will tell anyone who will listen how poorly we were treated.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. Absolute waste of money and trash service. They will charge you a service fee and will onlyserve you first round. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Beer taps taste gross, they charge you service fee on karaoke time when you still have to go upstairs to order drinks. Spend your money elsewhere!
Used to frequent this place years ago... it was once a pretty hip and fun dive .... nowadays, its just a dive with very bad sound system in the front bar... place being unkept may be forgivable but a really awful sound system for a place to sing is definitely a major disappointment. Other karaoke places on St. Marks and on 13th are much better equipped in this neighborhood. On the plus, cool graffiti walls still exist!
Ive went there with a group of friends; rented out a room, over charged us with drinks, they would rush us out of the room, when yet we had couple of minutes left. Their manger, Dreww. was being highly rude towards us. That place feels like it doesnt get clean oftenly either. especially the trashes. which is wasnt like that a years ago.
Dark, dreary, and small inside. Was there in July 2017 and no Air conditioning. Stuffy inside. So many other nice places down there in Alphabet City. Easy to see right off of Ave A in the East Village. Parking on the street is available but it fills up fast especially on the weekends and at night. Public Restroom. Not so clean facilities. We will definitely not be going back.
I’ve literally never been treated like this before. The bouncer is the rudest guy I’ve ever met. He confiscated my actual ID saying it was fake, then asked if I had a passport from “the country I’m from,” when my license clearly states I’m from Texas. I’ve used this ID countless times without issue before because it’s real?? Somehow, then he let us in. Unfortunately, the next day I got dragged again to this same place where he proceeds to do the same. Pretends to check my ID inside the door when he’s actually on his phone then comes outside and tells me it’s fake again. I tell him he let us in yesterday, and he has the nerve to tell me he wasn’t there yesterday. As if I wouldn’t remember his face, facial piercing, accent, and same earphones. Apparently the “detail” that makes my ID fake is on the back of the card, which he never even looked at before declaring it was fake. I had to call the police to get it back for my flight the next day. My domestic flight. Where I didn’t need my American passport. Back to Texas. Because I’m from America..All in all, if you can get in the door, it’s a nice place. But honestly, I’m never coming back here because of that guy specifically. St. Mark’s is well worth the trek and the guy let me in no problem, no fuss there.
Not going to lie, this is a pretty poor option for Karaoke. I used to live in an area with 4 places in about a six block radius, and I have pictures of 3 year old me singing the Power of Love, so Id say I know my way around a microphone. I went this place for a private room for a friends party. It looked pretty run down and not exciting at all. We had to ask for tamborines, which is absurd to me. Worst part, they didnt even light up. That might seem silly, but I think its a good gauge of how nice a karaoke spot is. Their song selection was fine, although nothing particularly special. I could live with coming here again for a friends event, but theres no way Id ever host my own here.
This cash-only spot (except for room charges and drinks added to room charges) gets the job done if youre a group looking to sing your hearts out in a private room. Sure, everyone else will hear you singing if theyre walking by, but when its a full house, youre practically incognito. The bar serves beer, wine and Korean vodka, no hard liquor. Staff is friendly, space is clean.
We are all in our thirties, but we had a younger (19) guest with us for a birthday dinner party. we checked the website to see if there was an age restriction before we wasted time and money to travel there and it said under 21 welcome except for Friday and Saturday after 10pm....... it was a Thursday night. very misleading and not at all accommodating. we pulled up the website and showed them and they still refused. maybe they should work on getting their faces straight.
It took perhaps 15 min to get a drink late on a Saturday The bartenders, though obviously disinterested or overwhelmed, are polite. If you want to sing within 3 hous on a Saturday night, you should someone in their early 20s with money to bring your songs to the front of the queue. If you dont have that money to burn, the company is quite pleasant anyway. Though a whiskey is $10.
Very dark w medium size bar area. Friday at 7 pm bartender seemed overwhelmed as he was alone...but lots of people means you have to wait awhile to get your song up on screen. If you get a drink you get song slip. The have large selection of songs. There are private rooms also.
I wanted to give this place better review but our experience was not too good. Employee didnt know their pricing, karaoke machine didnt work properly for 30 mins, server dropped our drinks. They did give us discount after we asked for it and no food serving here, but u can order from down stairs.
Anti immigrant. will not take international identification and even tho the bartender recognized my brazilian id as formal id, he insinuated it could be fake. with the current climate, it’s sad that even bars discriminate against immigrants.bring your passport (which is absurd) if you want to get in.

2022-08-14We stayed a few hours and it turned out to be over $100. It had a cool club vibe. You have to open the bathroom stall door to turn around. Thats the vibes. They didnt have a lot of the songs I wanted but I feel like they could add them upon request for the next visit. The rooms were not sound proofed. I think the audio equipment was a little buggy ie volume control on the stereo and mics. But the decor was relaxing and the seats comfortable. Cant wait to come back next time Im in New York! Very memorable!

2022-07-12The karaoke books are very stained and had mold in them and the mics are barely working. Also, the bartender who was working was incredibly rude and rolled her eyes when people were singing poorly. Its a karaoke bar! Almost everyone is singing poorly! They need to update their equipment and work on their hospitality.

2022-09-17I went there alone to enjoy my Friday night after a terrible day, I sing poorly and I know that, I just want to relax , most people there are very nice and encouraged me! But there are also jerks there, I didnt hear clearly but from others feedback they mocked my songs because I didnt sing English songs if I understood correctly, I only heard this is bar and blabla, they ruined my night, but the place is ok if you want to sing some songs.

2022-08-27Pretty humiliating experience. i’ve been coming to this bar on and off for 6 years. showed up the other night and was badgered about my id. i look young, fine. my friend had a water bottle and was asked to drink it empty before we could enter. she finished the water bottle and turned it over to show it was empty. two drops of water spilt to the floor. the bouncer told her to get out. we tried to explain, we meant no disrespect, just wanted to show we were complying with his rules. he told us to get lost. we left. it was humiliating and dehumanizing. what was wrong with this man?

2022-06-07This was a pretty terrible experience. Staff were ridiculously rude. Rooms were small no ventilation. Would never go back. DUET is a much better place. This place is cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.
