Jaimie Barbot was SO HELPFUL and informative when assisting my reservation to stay at SIXTY LES and planning the proposal to my fiancé. Jaimie made my planning so effortless and coordinated everything with the hotel staff nicely. The penthouses suites here are so big and beautiful, especially for the price per night. The views of the city are ridiculous. I picked the perfect hotel and room to propose. The orchard suite was perfect for us to enjoy to ourselves and have some drinks with family to celebrate before going out at night. Can’t wait to go back!
Paid $3000 for the suite on Valentine’s Day. Three separate times somebody entered into the room when me and my girlfriend were sitting there. The last time someone did this was at one in the morning and when I approached the staff they didn’t know who the person was. That person entered in from the mechanical room inside the suite. If you value your safety I would suggest not staying here. Also, if you’re getting this week because of the big soaking tub in the bathroom you might as well pass on it. The tub does not hold water. It drains slowly making the tub useless. There were many other things that were really disappointing. But safety was definitely the topper.
Horrible experience here. First time in NY and this place made it a nightmare. Our key fobs stopped working twice, we called for some essentials in the room and they would forget.. and they charged me a $500 smoking fee?!! This place smells like an old person home as it is. Don’t go here. Little, smelly cheap wanna be five star hotel.
Stayed here for my wedding. Had about 15 rooms booked between myself and my guests. Everyone had very comfortable nights sleep. I appreciate everyone’s hospitality at the hotel. The only thing I would change is maybe a more streamlined late checkout process, but even that was super flexible and complimentary so I really have no complaints. Will definitely visit again in the future.
Sixty LES is a wonderful hotel, very classy. The manager James made our stay exceptional, along with the staff Jimmy and Emily, who were very knowledgeable and polite. The room was amazing with a great view, close to many iconic sights and shopping. Thank you to all the rest of the staff for an awesome stay! Hope to see you again soon.
This property is tired...needs updates. The room we had was very very tired, couch was dirty, stained. The walls and floors are marked and tired. Bed actually comfortable, did not look as comfortable as it was....even the balcony doors were broken, dirty. Looks like a young crowd hang out spot...2-3 star ....
I actually had a really wonderful time at this hotel! The rooms were HUGE considering how small NY hotel can be. Lots of storage, a beautiful shower / bathroom situation, and the design was so gorgeous. I will say the amenities and on-campus restaurants were either unavailable or not great, so I wasn’t super excited to have to spend money on that only to not have access to them. That said, I was there for a party at Make Believe, and that was excellent!Last thing: I would’ve given another star, but my colleague misplaced some of her belongings while staying here, and it was really disappointing seeing how the hotel handled it. She called so many times, and they were not accommodating or even willing to help, so you may not want to bring anything that’s too high of value when you come here.
Always read reviews before booking they say. I cannot emphasize enough how accurate it is when people report how it is just impossible to sleep here (currently 1:45 am and still having a go at it) because of the nightclub. Earplugs are useless as the music resonates through the walls, floor and bed. If you want to enjoy an experience in a city that never sleeps, I guess this is the place to be, but dont expect being able to spend your day walking the next day. I know I wont. Its unfortunate because otherwise its impeccable.
This place does not really deserve a one star but Im still giving it one star because most people will read 1* review compared to 5* reviews. And the reason for 1* review is that you will not be able to sleep on Friday and Saturday nights at this place because of their night club called make believe. The music goes until 3am and you will only hear loud bass thumping all night not being able to sleep. I called at midnight on Saturday to complain as I was told that music would only go on until 11p which was incorrect. I asked to be moved from 8th floor to a room with no noise and they moved me to a smaller room ( which I really didnt mind) but even on 11th floor the Bass was too loud. I requested for an ear plugs which they said they would provide which never came. They also offered to compensate for noise and that didnt happen either. They test of the nights were peaceful but first night was really not pleasant. Overall customer service was okay. Rooms were clean. Room service was prompt.
I booked an overnight stay in the penthouse suite. I choose this hotel because of its close proximity to Brooklyn and because it has a balcony. The security/doorman was extremely nice. I proceeded to check-in and found out that there was no valet parking which left me looking for on street parking then finally a garage. I also pre ordered for champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to be place in the room. They failed to have this ready. The room has a working fireplace which was nice. It did not have a floor to ceiling windows in the bathroom nor did it have a stand alone tub like the photos on it website. The balcony is extremely narrow so much so that you can not walk around the pair of wooden lawn chairs. There is also an additional charge to access the very small pool. When booking the most expensive room the hotel has to offer I would expect the pool fee to be waived but nope. If you are looking for an luxury experience or a hotel with a balcony in NYC, I am positive you can get a better all around experience for the money elsewhere.
I want to give a special shout out to Karen the receptionist who were super sweet. We got there on September 1st for one night. We stayed in room 1200 which was beautiful and modern looking. It was clean and the balcony had a spectacular view. I would definitely would like to go back and spend more nights there.
I was so disappointed from the beginning till check out. Do not believe all these fancy photos! This hotel super tired and doesn’t worth this money. My room was super small (ok, my fault, I should check the room size when booked) with broken furniture! It wasn’t clean at all as well. In addition to the city view (because of the view I added one more star to the rate) there were parties on the rooftop bar down below my windows, which didn’t allow me to sleep without earplugs.
Pros:- the staff was friendly at the desk and at the pool.Cons:- the floor hallways smelled strongly of cigarette smoke- the air conditioning would not cool less than 72 degrees.- There is an unadvertised $75 per person fee to use the TINY pool that was full of screaming kids and barely any space to find a seat. The pool furniture had cigarette burns on it. (I negotiated the price down to $50 per person)Overall I think that you could find much nicer for the price.
Pleasant stay. Enjoyed the views from the attached terrace. The shower was elegant and spacious. They even accommodated a microwave in our room, I found this to stand out as most hotels Ive stayed at do not allow microwaves in the room. All in all great property and I will stay again.
Oh dear, something is going badly wrong here. Almost nothing was good about this place. It started with check in and just stayed bad.At check in, a smile wouldnt go amiss. Yes, I know this is NYC but Ive been coming here for 20 years on business and pleasure and hotel staff are friendly most of the time. Just not this time. The room (some type of suite) was very dark and tired looking. It was very clean so thats a positive. The stay went really downhill on the second night when my next door neighbors decided to have a party (with weed) at 1am. I know the hotel cant pick their guests but they can choose how they respond. The first call got nothing. The second finally got something done so I was able to sleep. When I mentioned this to the front desk the next day they apologized and removed one of the guest experience fees. Fair enough. The last problem was (and still is 2 weeks later), getting hold of a bill for my expenses. Emails, calls, carrier pigeon; nothing has worked.
Hotel was eh, as pictured but felt very cheap. Couch was falling apart and had all sorts of stain marks. The tv was off to the side barely usable, the terrace has all sorts of weird scratch marks, the walls were riddled with scuff marks. AC wouldn’t keep the room cool enough. We couldn’t use the elevator for a period of time because it wasn’t working so we had to use stairs. The lobby had underdressed individuals that had clearly just been at the pool but were walking around the lobby in bathing suits and towels. For 250$ that I spent I think I could’ve had a place that nailed the basics better
From the second we walked in until the second we left, the ENTIRE staff at Sixty LES made my stay absolutely flawless. Upon arrival we were a little early and the hotel was able to accommodate my room choice (which they have only three of that class). We understood if they couldn’t help us and we had to wait but they made it happen and we were allowed up about and hour to an hour and a half early. The room itself was absolutely fantastic, the corner king suite terrace was worth every penny. It comprised of stunning views, showers with luxurious finishes and the water pressure was well above par. The room was spotless and followed all COVID guidelines. It’s well secured, and no one has access unless they have a key...a beautiful feature. There’s great restaurants, a CVS , and a liquor store right close by and all transportation is within walking distance.Any request we had during our stay was met with nothing but sheer smiles and friendly voices at the other end of the phone or side of the counter. We later inquired about a possible stay later on this year and Chris at checkout was more than accommodating and informative. This hotel has the friendliest staff you could ever meet, and it’s clear and apparent as to why....they’re lead by Chris (the manager), who clearly sets the example for them.
All of the furniture is super low to the floor. The couches have stains, the tables have stains and they’re permanently sticky. The room wasn’t super clean, staff is rude and seem like they don’t want to be bothered. I think for the prices that are charged your stay should be comfortable and it wasn’t even that. I complained about the cleanliness of my room and staff provided me with a bleach bottle and wash rag. It’s ghetto! Please do not waste your money and stay here.
Came to Sixty LES to stay for my bachelorette. We booked early check in and had 3 rooms. We did not want to cause problems or overwhelm one room so we booked multiple. Despite calling 4 times the morning of to make sure our room would be ready, we got there and were told they would not longer be accommodating our early check in request. They also did not want us to wait in the lobby they said we were “disturbing” the guests. We however would not have had to disturb the guests if our rooms had been ready on time. I had to go to the desk multiple times as now it is almost normal check in time and tell them that we needed to get into the rooms, and we no longer had my car so we couldn’t just put our luggage in there so if we couldn’t stay in the lobby we needed to go somewhere. Finally after being allowed in we had 3 bugs in our room!!!!!!!!! For a hotel who acts as if the queen of England stays there they certainly didn’t have great hygiene. The room itself was lovely, but the other glaring factors made it a less than wonderful stay. That night we left to go to dinner. As we chatted don’t the lobby we were greeted by a very large man telling us to “keep it down” not a moment later there was a rowdy bachelor party in the lobby, the man said nothing to them. Finally, Saturday night here was a D list celebrity party on the rooftop. They were loud, rude, and left trash. We were BOUNCED at the door, asked why we were there. Because we paid an absurd amount of money to stay. Had the hotel not been so lovely, and had we not had a great time in the city, these awful instances would have ruined our entire weekend.
We paid $650 for a suite and horrible service. Front desk was short, rude, and arrogant. When we asked the front desk questions, they were always rude and never had a smile on their face. The room was pretty cool and the balcony was great. We had to call 3 times for the ice and water to be delivered to our room & they also ran out of water. This hotel is in a great area so i’m guessing that’s why their reviews are good, but there was no reason for the front desk to be rude. Would not come back.
I wouldn’t even give this hotel one star. This hotel has the most disrespectful staff I have ever encountered. We paid for a junior suite and paid extra to be on a high floor. When we got there they said there were no rooms on the high floors and put us on the 6th. We booked a king bed with a sofa bed and in our room we only had the king bed and no sofa bed. They had to move us a couple hours after we checked in. We had five people in our party and we thought it would be okay since we booked a suite. They only allow 4 people in the rooms no matter the room size. The room size doesn’t even matter honestly because the rooms are so small and look nothing like the pictures. We were supposed to stay from Friday - Sunday but when we got back to the hotel from brunch on Saturday they legit did not allow us to go to our room since it was 5 people. We cancelled the 2nd night and the whole process was terrible. The staff is so rude it blew my mind. I highly recommend NOT staying here. I will never be coming back and I am calling management to discuss the issues this hotel has.
I have received better treatment at the DMV on a packed summer day than at this hotel.I had booked a Junior Suite for two nights to celebrate my birthday. From the moment I checked-in the service was HORRIBLE. The guy at the front desk was not professional. The suite was for three people total (including myself) so I mentioned that the one guest was joining later as they were still at work, I tried asking to leave a key at the front desk for my guest to pick up but immediately the guy at the front desk told me no gatherings (NEVER did I mention I was having a party). I later asked about the hours of the rooftop bar. When I called days before confirming my reservation, they informed me that the restaurant was open and the rooftop bar as well. The guy at the desk responded to my question by rudely and in a condescending manner saying the rooftop is close. The whole city is on lock down. He also never reviewed anything regarding the room or my stay with me, other than no parties, and told me to listen in to what the other girl at the front desk was telling another guest, because that applied to me too. I called booking.com to mention my check-in interaction. On the next day at around noon (after the first night), I was taking a shower, nude, listening to music and I suddenly hear my hotel room door OPEN. I knew my other guest was at work, so it could not have been her opening my door. It was the hotel room manager who was opening my hotel room door. I yelled IM NAKED. She told me I had to check out because it was past noon and I was overstaying my stay. I was very confused because I had ALREADY paid for a second night but also why would you open my hotel room door? They went back down to the desk and later called me to tell me that booking.com had changed my reservation to check out a day early. Lies! I never agreed to that. I called booking.com again and they told me there had not been any changes made to my reservation. At this point I was furious, I had booked this hotel to stay in and have a very relaxed birthday but it turned out to be nothing but stressful. I decided to check-out right away and I did not have the energy to keep dealing with the front desk peoples nasty attitude and stress out. I have worked various positions in customer service for 7 years, and I dont know whos doing the hiring and training but it is absolutely trash to allow your employees to behave in such a manner.Respectfully, I would never recommend this place.
So unprofessional, we were in contact with them for weeks telling them we had a group for a bachelorette party and that we were having six people sleep over. They said nothing about not having people visit the room, but the second we came in with our group they said each room may only have 4 people in it at one time or we will evict you. We paid a lot of money to be here, and they were so rude and made the bride uncomfortable. I feel so horrible, I can’t believe I’m paying for this.
I would not recommend. We visited for the pool on a hot summer day. The pool was filthy, they attempted to clean the pool while people were swimming!?!? The rest room next to the pool was closed therefore we had to go to the 2nd floor bathroom to change. That bathroom was in deplorable condition; urine on the floors, no toilet paper and a very bad odor plagued the hallway. I expected better.
I stayed here with a group of friends and I honestly have very little good things to say. When we arrived to check in, the front desk employee asked my friend to close the door behind her before greeting any of us. So much for first impressions. Now I will say they are very speedy with requests. We called down for towels and a few other things and they all came very quickly. My main problem was every time we came back in the front desk staff was rude, they asked us 100 questions before even saying hello. The lobby security was nicer than they front desk staff! SMH. Overall the rooms are nice but the staff needs to be trained on their people skills.
I had a lot of dithering in rating this hotel. I would have really liked to give it 3.5 stars. This is a pleasant, boutique hotel. We had a junior suite for a week. Our room was clean, and had a mini fridge and various snacks/drinks you could buy. There is no coffee maker and if you want to get ice you have to call the front desk.On the plus side, with one exception, all of the staff was super nice. Just really friendly, welcoming and willing and able to help with any requests. On the downside, it was almost always a five to ten minute wait at the front desk because there was usually only one or two people staffing it and there was almost always a line.I took one star for the bed. This is a relatively upscale hotel but the bed was worse than Super 8 quality. It was thin and lumpy. At my age you feel every lump and divot in the morning.I would take another half star for the way everything seems to be an upcharge. The pool, which is very small, is $75/person per day. I didnt remember to take a picture of the snack prices, but they were expensive enough that you could Door Dash a couple snacks and drinks and would still be less expensive with tip. I realize this is NYC, and theres fancy, and great, coffee everywhere, but it seems like an oversight to not have a coffee maker in the room.On check in, the staff clearly tell guests that there are NO parties allowed. On our third night there, there was a loud party down the hall from us, which didnt quiet down until 2am. Since we didnt have to get up too early the next day, we didnt say anything. The next night there was another loud party. We called the front desk around 11pm and someone came up and took care of it about ten minutes later.Otherwise, the hotel itself doesnt have a lot of sound proofing, so even though mostly it was quiet, there was a fair amount of noise throughout. Also, our room was on the fourth floor facing the pool. On previous visits to this hotel the pool has been pretty loud. The $75 charge has greatly reduced this and we didnt have any issues. We did not have time to use the gym, but the hotel has an extremely nice gym. Easily one of the nicest in the area. It has a very nice sauna which was closed when we visited, due to Covid, but will hopefully reopen soon.Turn down service must be requested the day before and is not done every day, unless requested. I personally prefer this. Also, there are no tiny, single use toiletries. I also appreciate this.Really, other than the bed, I would have no hesitation staying here again. For the most part it is a lovely hotel, and the staff are truly delightful.
Stayed here as a part of interview. Hotel is located bit outside of main New York area, but its at walkable distance from few attractions. Check-in process was pretty smooth and the on-desk employee was helpful in providing all the necessary details.Rooms were bit small, but it was offset by overall comfort level. Overall experience was ok for a 4-star hotel. Next time I visit, I must make sure rooms are big enough. But otherwise I dont have any other concerns against it. Recommended if youre traveling for a business or a solo traveler if you dont mind staying bit away from the midtown.
When we specifically booked for a room with balcony and the pool. The pictures look great.. but you’ll be fooled. We were there at the check in time and waited a half hour for our room… front desk people were all horrible. Bad customer service!!!!!! The worst hotel by far I been too!!!! Also, $75 per day for a pool pass for a tiny pool. It’s NOT worth that price when the place looks dirty, unsanitary and very UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
Beautiful hotel but the one lady at the front desk did not treat us like respected customers. Definitely not accommodating to our requests and made it a fairly unpleasant experience until the next lady came in for her shift. The lady had slicked down black hair and large gold hoops u suck🥱
Great location, but terrible hotel. The rooms aren’t very well kept and they never refunded me my deposit after reaching out to them multiple times, so watch out for that. There are better hotels that are cheaper than this one that offer more. I’d suggest skipping this hotel and finding a better place.
So for 600 dollars you would think the room wouldn’t have any kind of infestation but for some reason there were ants in the sink. The refrigerator was fully stocked which is cool if you weren’t interested in bringing your own drinks and storing food in there for the time being. The staff was super friendly which is why I’m giving it 2 stars but for the overall experience it would be 1 star for me. The room wasn’t very clean the furniture had weird stains on it and it appears that there were cracks along the walls.
An extremely negative hotel experience. Front desk was rude, short and aggressive. Floor, cabinets, and walls of room were all very scratched up, dirty, and not well maintained at all. Coffee table was very damaged and disgusting. Way less upscale than photos depicted. Bedroom had AWFUL sound insulation, so loud all night. Cannot recommend against staying here enough.
I’ve stayed at many hotels in NYC and this is by far the worst... 4 stars is a stretch. Customer service is horrible, 2 people checked out early while we were checking in which was a red flag that turned out to be accurate. Rooms are SUPER loud at all hours do to the club on the 7th floor (I was on 16 and it was unbearable, even for New York). The rooms look nothing like the pictures on the website, bed is as hard as a rock, you can’t access the pool at all unless you pay $75 for a day pass, the front desk employees are soooo rude, etc. The prices are good but you get what you pay for... I recommend spending a little more a night and staying at The Ludlow across the street.
Our stay in this hotel was terrible, first of all we did not sleep well every day there are parties and the noise of music and voices is heard I do not see that there is order in this hotel, our last night the music was terrible high volume and loud voices until 6 am which does not make your stay at this hotel comfortable. Another point is that they do not clean your room, when we got to the hotel they asked us what time we wanted the cleaning service and they gave us an hour but if we are not going to ask again that they do the cleaning they do not do it, the lady from the reception said That only every other day they cleaned, when I left the Hotel another unpleasant senoria attended me and told me that due to the covid there was no cleaning in the room, it seems to me that their employees do not coordinate with what they say. I do not recommend this hotel at all.terrible my worst experience.
The room did NOT match the pictures or descriptions and I didn’t even get a balcony as requested and paid for and the cleaning lady tried to walk into my damn room four hours before check out!!! Location is great of course but the place itself is not worth the price they outrageously charged us… I didn’t even have a damn mini fridge and I had a suite! Worst experience and NOT AT ALL worth the price
This hotel is low key a scam. Says there’s a rooftop pool yet they forget to mention it’s $75 per person to use it. Also no guests allowed. My cousin wanted to come in an grab something and they wouldn’t let. Overall it’s overpriced and you can def find something better. Front desk staff is rude too.
This place is popping. Incredible interior design, trendy neighborhood, rooms are dark and sultry but if you look closely the place is showing its age. (Don’t walk barefoot in your room!)Popular with a younger crowd but there was no crowd controls during the pandemic, every floor and elevator smelled like weed.Service-wise they were a little snooty, it’s uncalled for as this is not the Four Seasons.
Would 10 out of 10 recommend NOT choosing SixtyLES as your hotel stay unless they drastically cut nightly rates.Unfortunately the lower rated reviews are the more accurate ones. This hotel is by no means luxury or hip as the nightly rate would make it seem. I would equate this closer to a best western, or motel in terms of comfort. The experience is as basic as can be. Covid probably plays a part of in this, understandable, however even their rates during this time don’t match up to the experience provided. The BED really is one of the worst I’ve experienced for a hotel at this rate. It’s essentially a mattress reminiscent of .25 inch cardboard on a concrete surface, that’s tries to us a “band aide” fix of a mattress topper that doesn’t fit the bed and creates a “lumpy” feeling throughout. Kind of like a bunch of socks or loose shirts sitting under your sheets. It’s an extremely weird and confusing solution on the hotels part.If you can get a room for $75-100 a night then it might just be worth it for some of the decent views of the city, once you walk away from the window it’s all downhill though.Otherwise I would give this a hard pass. I definitely took an L staying here. Hope y’all can avoid the same fate.
Book a better hotel. The management in this hotel is extremely rude, the service is just awful. The cleanliness of the hotel is not up to par and it does not meet the expectations. The walls are very thin and you can hear people speaking and it wakes you up in the morning. Needless to say, this is not a peaceful or clean place.Save your money, avoid the disappointment and dirty atmosphere. Book somewhere else, youll enjoy yourself much more.
I have stayed at SIXTY LES 3 times and I have also referred some of my friends and clients to stay here as well. It is always a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The staff is super friendly and down to earth ! I have to give recognition to Amanda who works at the front desk. Amanda has patience, she is super polite, professional and she exceeds my expectations on providing exceptional customer service. Last night I stayed and she was so accommodating and helpful - Dimetry (sp) was also there and made sure I had a pleasant stay. I have stayed in the Influencer Studio when it was known as the Cabana Room in the summer, the Allen Suite and the King Suite. All rooms were very spacious which is a PLUS because if you are reading this YOU KNOW NYC hotels are typically super small. The only downside is parking - but it is worth just taking an Uber to the hotel ... trust me! I definitely recommend this place and I will be back yet again once the pool re-opens!
The location is great. The facility is beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable. The rules however, do not exist. The guest room next to ours had a birthday party with a large group of people. Yelling, doors slamming & things falling made it impossible to sleep. After our fourth call to the front desk the party was broken up at 12.30am. There is a lounge on the 7th floor that is perfect for parties and entrance is free for hotel guests. Management needs to do better.
The views from the Empire King Terrace suites are to die for. Amazing views of uptown and downtown with a private balcony. Room is a bit small and the shower needed more pressure but nice place to stay and staff was great! Good sounds insulation on the 15th floor from the outside but can hear hallway/elevators pretty clearly.EDIT: Changing my review from a 4 star to a 2 star. I checked my credit card bill the next day and noticed 2 charges for my stay. One for the hotel, the other ??. I emailed guest services and they sent me a second bill for a $200 in minibar charges?! WHAT?! We never touched it. Took almost a week to get any movement on getting this charge removed. A refund was said to be initiated but a week later and not seeing it on my CC. Be sure to check your credit card after staying. Shame, had a great visit otherwise.
This is more of a 3.5 star. The aestetics were gorgeous and front desk were great. However, service for rooms (eg housekeeping) were difficult due to lack of staffing. More importantly, I felt comfortable with the level of covid protocol and I know that staff was low bc of that. Overall I really enjoyed the stay. Had to switch rooms to get a good view. Great LES experience. Ive recommended to friends since.
Simply stay elsewhere! Completely undesirable with fees galore. I was charged an extra $75 per night for a room upgrade (they initially where charging $100 per night, extra), plus an additional $70 for hotel amenities (mind you, ALL hotel services were closed due to COVID). The room smelled of smoke and was quite worn, there was an undesirable gooey stain on the headboard (which was never cleaned), and the HVAC system was so loud it woke me up at night. This hotel is a HARD PASS and the good reviews it does have must be old. I will NEVER stay again, ever. My stay at the Sixty LES was horrible and management (Johanna & James – who was out of uniform in street clothes) seemed not to care even though they were informed of all listed above. They were both happy to give me the VP/GM’s (Chris’) information but made it seem like he would be as bad as they were, so I resolved to leave a review in lieu of reaching out to him. There are entirely too many hotels in walking distance that are much nicer, less expensive and that actually care about guest. Sixty LES needs a complete re-do!
Horrible experience with rude, unaccommodating staff. This place is practically a hostel. I was waiting on friends who were staying here as guests and I asked to use their bathroom facilities and they denied my request. I was desperate and proceeded to inquire about getting a room and only then were they responsive and engaged in extorting me. This is not the type of hotel you want to stay in.
Its a NICE place to stay at for a couple of days if one wants to explore the lower East Side, Downtown NYC. Thus, the rooms were exactly like the pictures, clean and spacious. To add on, the people there were nice, talkative, a PREMADONNA 😁, but never rude or bothersome...Although, I didnt get to really enjoy it because of the coronavirus and cold weather, it was still a nice, chill, and calm place to stay to relax ones mind and body. 👍🏾
We was disappointed to find out that room we got did not have a tub like in the pictures. I feel like these pictures need to be updated or there needs to be a notice about which rooms have the tubes and which one dont. Besides that, the hotel it self is lovely. The security down to the elevator is top.notch. I just get worried the doorman is gonna hit me from spinning the door for me. The room was extremely nice. shower took a second to figure out. The robes was warm and the towels fresh. The prices of the snack bar though..... anyway, will visit again.
Absolutely loved my stay here!Best hotel in the city. Great location, spacious rooms and super comfortable beds! It is also quite from the traffic and at night, as we couldn’t here our neighbors which led to good night sleeps. Felicia and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Next time we are in New York we are definitely staying here again.
So let me tell you my story about my experience at sixty LES hotel.I decided to celebrate my bday at this location because apparently it was a really great place, but what called more my attention was the nice pool area and the exclusivity they offer when you booked suites or special rooms with the “penthouse pool paradise”package as you can read it on the webpage. We paid 1 night on 08-29-2020 in a junior suite room + the pool package + LATE CHECKOUT so i can enjoy the pool the next day 08-30-2020 (officially my birthday). The late check out was supposed to be at 2:00 pm....the same day we got there we couldn’t enjoy the pool due to it closed at 5:00 pm, but thats ok because in my mind i still had enough time the next day . First of all lets talk about the room, it doesnt have all the things it describes on the webpage, dont get me wrong the room is beautiful but for example coffe machine was missing (I am a coffe lover btw), but i didnt mind at the moment. The next day we woke up at 9 in order to have breakfast and enjoy the pool, as restaurants in the hotel are closed we had to ordered breakfast.....so that delayed us a little bit. We were in the pool area having breakfast, then When I was getting ready to go to the pool it was almost 12 and my brother decided to use the bathroom, he came and told me that keys were blocked and went to the lobby to ask about it and he was told that we were supposed to check out. I was thinking that maybe it was a mistake because we paid for late check out (2:00pm), I went to the lobby and asked to the girl in the front what was going on.Let me tell you what she told me: you guys need to check out at 12:00, it was 12:10, i told her that we paid for late check out and we could stay until 2, she said that it was not charged, i told her to charge it because im willing to pay for it, she said that “late check outs are not guaranteed, that it depends on availability” and she couldnt allow me to stay until 2. I asked her why I was not informed about it, nobody called, nobody told me anything even the day before when I checked in, the girl in the front didnt mention anything at all, so for me everything was perfect...she insisted an said 3 times that she spoke with somebody (which is a lie, because only my phone # was in the system), and i told her a couple of times that nobody informed me, how was I supposed to know?. So basically we had to packed our stuffs rushing because according to her we were supposed to leave and she gave me until 1:00pm so we can pack. I felt so humiliated because of the way I was treated, Ive never been treated this way and its not my first time in a hotel, my birthday was basically ruined, and the funny thing is that I decided to celebrate it at this place with my family expecting the best. I felt that my money was worthless, they didnt even try to give me a plan B or at least give me the option to stay by the pool even if we check out of the room. I was willing to pay whatever it was, but apparently its more convenient1 to kick ppl out and keep checking in ppl in order to charge the night. And let me not forget to tell you that according to the webpage the pool package included included a bottle of wine which i never got it either. Very disappointed, I even told her that i understood the “availability” part but what annoyed me the most was that I WAS NOT INFORMED!!!!!!!!!!!I signed when I did check in for the room but another mistake I made was that I didnt request a receipt and it was not given to me either.....It was so stupid from me not to request my receipt; because if you think about it if they give you a receive when you check in then its basically official. I feel they do this type of things so you dont have nothing in order to fight for you RIGHT as a costumer. I showed her on my phone my detailed reservation that I got w
Woww. Im here looking at all the reviews and Im really paying attention to customers that didnt have a good experience. I found it bothersome that customers complaints havent had any response or acknowledgement from the hotel itself. Im suppose to be staying 2 nights in one of the penthouse suits for my bday really soon and I expect a pleasurable experience. Because $2500 is a lot of money I want everything to be on point. No BS. lll be by there soon to speak with management. Any if that doesnt go well. Im cancelling. Have no time for nonsense.
The pictures look nice, but yet what curated website with only 2 generic pictures of the room don’t?I tried to get a reservation for a room, only to have them tack on $60+ in fees. $40 for a “guest experience fee”?? Are you kidding? Just tack it onto the cost of the room. It’s not even the money that’s a problem, it’s the principal that you say a room is $150 and then tack on a third of the price in additional made up fees, so on that you lose my business. When I went to go write this I noticed other reviews saying that their stay was less than ideal. Always, always, always read the reviews - so glad I stuck with my gut and didn’t waste my money here.
I wish I could give zero stars - FRONT DESK STAFF WAS SO RUDE AND HORRIBLE. Tiny rooms, terrible beds, and the rooms look nothing like the pictures online. I’m only on my first night here, but everything has been super horrible so far. Wish I could call headquarters to report how dreadful this location is being run.
I would recommend staying at literally any other hotel. Not COVID safe and definitely not worth the price.First things first, I scheduled my arrival for Wednesday 12/16. Prior to arriving, I called both Hotel Tonight and the hotel Sixty LES to confirm there wouldn’t be any issues come time for check-in. I was reassured MULTIPLE times by both and was told I would have no issues. The second I arrived, issues started happening. Service was horrible and most employees were just flat out rude.I’ve stayed at seven hotels in this past 6 months; and the Sixty LES takes the cake for the WORST hotel.COVID - There were multiple parties in this hotel that I witnessed. Every other night there was loud music and large groups of people gathering together. The room I was given was not clean either; my pillow case was clearly not washed and it was disgusting considering COVID 19.Hidden fees- upon arrival I was hit with three extra fees that were not mentioned anywhere prior to checkout. Instead of paying the $104 per night as advertised, I was paying almost $176 per night. Had I known these fees would arise I would have booked somewhere else INSTANTLY.Bad service - the service was actually horrible here. They have a $40 “guest service fee” which was complete and utter BS. It was impossible to reach anyone through the phone at the hotel. On my final night, I was sick and was calling downstairs to ask a question. I called from 6:43 AM - 7:32 AM. NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON ANSWERED. After getting so frustrated, I went downstairs just to see an employee sitting at the desk on a FaceTime call. I was so mad to find out this guy was just ignoring the calls and could not even believing it. Once I confronted him, he was extremely rude and had an extremely arrogant attitude. If I had an emergency, I would have been left stuck in my room all alone because the employee was too busy FaceTiming someone during work.I’m not one to ever write reviews but I had to put this out there. I’m sharing my honest opinion and hope that anyone else who stays here has a better experience.Again, I would recommend staying at literally anything other hotel. Even if it’s a lesser quality, the service will probably be better at any other place. Good luck to everyone, hope you can find a better experience.
It is my second day staying at this hotel and I’m even more disappointed. I was hoping that maybe yesterday was just an off day. But no. I had to follow up with the front desk on the promised room clean, because it was dirty on arrival. They finally came today around 2 pm, 19 hours later. I just found out that there is a restaurant in the hotel... Im honestly amazed that we weren’t informed of the benefits of staying at the hotel. The front desk staff lack enthusiasm. I don’t recommend this hotel if you’re visiting for your first time, at all.
Great location, but thats the only positive characteristic. Room is ok.... The pool is way smaller than the pictures would lead you to believe... We were given a room immediately above the Club Social so couldnt sleep because of the very loud music blasting till 3am. Not acceptable to be charged 250 a night and not be able to sleep... Definitely avoid.
Started out with the nicest humans manning the front desk. Carlos thank you! His colleague Jimmy is right there being so personable and patient while I was taking up all the space …I messed up the dates of my stay, it was corrected even though I’m hopelessly disorganized. These fellas were such gentlemen while I was a hot mess digging for my wallet etc.The room I’m in is spectacular and I never want to leave. King suite with terrace on 15th floors . Give it a go, it’s the definition of luxury
Amazing and trendy hotel. Great hotel pool that is actually swimmable and doesnt get too overcrowded. Really large, modern and comfortable rooms by NY standards. Cool hotel bar and really convenient location. Would definitely stay here again next time. Only issues are the slow elevators and miscalculating the daily mini bar credit.
1 star is generous to say the least. Upon entering the room the sheets looked just used and there is no top sheet. The sheets actually had visible yellow stains and the pillows smelled. We asked for housekeeping to change the sheets but they had left for the day so we were given 1 sheet as a replacement which was also dirty. The lounge turns into a club at night so theres no sleeping til after they close. The halls smelled like cigs and marijuana. The towels were dirty with holes and smelled like cig smoke. We were offered another room but it was the same quality. We checked out after 1 night. Do not stay here if you want a clean relaxing hotel or want anything that resembles the pictures.
Location of this hotel is wonderful. All the staff we found more than willing to help or give advice. Bellboy and cleaning personnel did a fantastic job. A fabulous breakfast inside the izakaya. The concierge William was very nice. Easy subway access. Ive always been extremely happy with the cleanliness of the hotel.
The service was fantastic but our room smelled a bit like someone had smoked in it and then sprayed heavy perfume to cover it up. We asked to move rooms and were quickly accommodated, no issues in the second room. The shower is frosted glass with walls that directly face the living room, which can be a bit revealing. This place is definitely designed for couples.
Good hotel, nice rooms, friendly staff, but loud and very scene-y. I arrived late Saturday and it took 15 minutes to get noticed and checked in by the staff who were busy dealing with a loud and high and too cool for anyone wedding party. I sleep easy, but the room was above a club so some nights would have been a struggle for many.It is the Lower East Side, though, so none of this is surprising (I stay in the LES because its convenient for my work and other spots I normally end up at in New York). The pool was closed and very small, which was a disappointment since its hard to find a pool in New York and their website hadnt mentioned the closure. OK gym, but tucked away in a basement.
Not as luxury as they make it seem . Paid for a penthouse suite and got a room on the 4th floor with a shared balcony . We had to ask the front desk multiple times for things we already asked for at check in . It was nice and big but definitely not for the price . The couch had some stains on it . The people in the room across from us were having a party ,I saw at least 10 people waiting for the elevator , they were extremely loud and obnoxious . The elevators took about 30 minutes to come no matter what floor your on. We were left having to use the staircase a lot of the time luckily we were only on the 4th floor😉. The pool is open from 9am-5pm . Check in is 3pm and check out is 12 pm so not much time for pool access if you do pay the extra to even be eligible to get into the pool. The pool itself was dirty . From one glance u could see the dirt and leaves and it was only open for 1 hour at that point so it makes me believe they don’t change the pool water often . Nice location, right next to all the public transportation And food places . But overall this hotel is overrated .
The staff was so attentive and friendly. They made me feel welcome right from the start. The room itself was really nice! I wish I could have gone when it was warm so I could try out the pool. I was a little confused by the card security on the elevator but once I figured it out I thought it was really great. This was the first hotel I had ever been to with that security feature.
As someone who traveled frequently prior to 2020 I was very concerned by all the negative reviews. So here is my initial review. First, everyone working at the hotel had a mask on, check in was quick and front desk staff were polite. One people with reservations were permitted at the pool from what I was able to observe. The pool and room were both clean and we received the room we were promised. Overall I would say it has been a good first day.
Great hotel with quality service. We had a suite with a terrace and the views were the best in the lower east side. The pool is small, but clean and it was not crowded. They also have a 24-hour gym. The price was quite expensive for a one night stay. I would recommend trying to find a discount code or using an app as the prices can be high. Every staff member we interacted with was pleasant and kind.
If I couldve gave this hotel 10 stars then I would have! I stayed here for about a week or so and I must say the Administration and housekeeping were beyond amazing and accommodating. The hotel itself is beautiful and the views are great. Thank you so much for everything Sixty LES!! :-)
My Jr. Suite faced Orchard st/poolside and the sun shinned thru beautifully. Sushi Izikaya on the 2nd floor has slamming fried chicken wings. Clean, Sexy, aromatic. Only thing I wish the the rooms had was a SPLASH of bright color. Possibly in the accent pillows or a wall or a throw for the sofa.Other than that I kicked back and really enjoyed the definition of a staycation for 2 nights👌🏽
Ive been to Thompson LES several times between 2012-2013 and Ive enjoyed my stay every single time. All the staff in the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The range of amenities offered was what someone would expect from a hotel of its class. Good value for the money paid.
Pretty decent spot. Was initially told the type of room I booked (jr suite king bed) would be well away from the club/lounge on 7. Well, that wasnt the case and we ended up in a room on the 7th floor. The way its set up was through 2 doors and it wasnt super loud, but you could definitely hear it. They offered to move us, but moving rooms is such a pain when you have a full day scheduled that we just stayed. I always pack ear plugs when traveling to NYC because of the overnight street noise, so it wasnt a major issue. Didnt get a chance to use the pool or visit the restaurant, but they looked fine. Didnt feel the resort fee was justified by the property overall - it wasnt that nice, but I guess thats the just the way the entire industry is moving.
The rooms are all absolutely stunning. We loved the staff. Front desk staff was sure friendly and helpful in guiding us to the nearest hot spots. ***ager/ service crew greet us at the door to welcome us at 9pm. I mentioned this and was told they would do a deep clean of the room.
Terrible experience. The rooms are smaller than advertised and cramped, closer to 200 sq ft.The are having problems with their fire alarms which will go off in the morning and wake you up multiple times, all false alarms. The rooms are very cramped when you walk in.There was not even complimentary water in my room.I’d suggest staying somewhere else. This is definitely more like a 3 Star hotel at best and there are way better choices in the area including the hotel on Rivington.
The rooms are a good size. Staff has fantastic knowledge of the city and goes out of their way to really make sure you are taken care of. The location of the hotel is fantastic. The previous night the front desk has called at 1045pm waking me up to check everything was alright.
I visited the Sixty LES hotel on a late Sunday evening for a friends birthday gathering. Upon entering the lobby, I really liked the stylish decor and casual vibe. I was given instructions by my friend to just go straight to the second floor and walk right up to the bar. I wasnt aware that there was a stairwell that led to the second floor so I took the elevator and it opened into a casual seated area with large sofas. To the right was the entrance to the Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya dining area and cat to your right, and to your left was a doorway that led to the beer garden. By the time I had arrived, the beer garden was empty except for a few friends that were enjoying the outdoor atmosphere. The view is limited, as you are basically on a large second floor terrace overlooking Allen street with a view of Houston street to your right, but the decor and lighting at night made the space look very welcoming. I was hungry and so I ordered some blue ribbon chicken wings, some meatballs and some duck confit fried rice at the bar. The portions were all on the small side and the prices werent cheap, but the food was good (the duck fried rice was a little salty). The service was great and the staff were all very friendly. Now that I know the place, Id happily invite people to meet me there for some food and drinks.
Stayed at the hotel earlier this month for 4 nights. I really enjoyed my stay at the Thompson LES. We always had transport willingly available to us from the resort. Ive been in rooms with and without the baloney and the views from their floor to ceiling windows are amazing.
Stayed there as I had my flight cancelled and had to find accommodations quickly. As all hotels were booked, I managed to get a room at the hotel. Upon arrival, The service at the front desk was fantastic and was quick and easy to get to my room. The rooms are very spacious and updated. It’s location is close to all the great restaurants in the area. I would recommend staying at this hotel as I heard that there is a rooftop bar and an amazing sushi restaurant which I didn’t have a chance to check out.
Staff was excellent, courteous, promptous and a diverse people. Municipal parking is nearby on Essex street. Thats cheaper than many others. Rooms were clean and views of the city from the penthouse was amazing with world trade 1 on one side and the Empire State building on the other.
Room was amazing. Everything else was subpar. We paid for the Penthouse Pool package because we were under the impression that the pool was only opened to guest that purchased it. SCAM! We heard people say they booked on other websites (which didn’t have the package available). If I could get my money back, I would. We were only able to get in the pool ONE DAY. The other days it was extremely crowded. Two broke elevators and every time we went to the restaurant it was closed.
So noisy! Serious problems with parties in rooms. You hear everything. They let guest smoke in there rooms so if you are next to us it smells.I called front desk twice they didn’t resolve the problem at 2 am in the morning.Rooms are outdated need maintenance.Lack of attention to details really disappointing.
I very much enjoyed my stay at SEXTY LES Hotel. The room I was in was small, but accomidating. Although there are many different suite options to choose from including larger rooms with balconys. The staff were all amazing. Its perfectly located in the lower east side. While there, I was able to relax enjoying a remarkable massage in their complete and peaceful spa... Which was of course, my favorite part! I ate at the hotels sushi restaurant and bar, as well a number of other eateries within walking distance of the SIXTY LES Hotel. I would definitely stay here again..
Beautiful but cold hotel (theres a noisy club for neighbors), and with a terrible staff. They basically refuse my payment method because of hotels rules and kick me and my family out... At 7pm. They didnt even tried to help or accomodate. Just get out! Thank god the Ridge hotel 2 minutes away welcomed us with open arms. I go to NY every year and it never happened to me before. I will never sleep in this hotel, even if its free.
Honestly don’t believe any of the reviews this hotel is not it. The beds are really low and uncomfortable. There are literally no outlets in the room. I had a hard time trying to find somewhere to charge my phone. There’s no mirrors. It’s dark as s**t in the rooms. The elevators could be way nicer. There were people hanging around in the lobby making it feel ghetto. The whole hotel was just not it. Like I literally could not wait to leave and go home. On top of that they charged my boyfriend’s card twice and gave us such a hard time when we tried to dispute the charges. No one from “accounting” never answers the phone. This was literally the worst hotel that I stayed at.
My visit was nothing less than GREAT! Th making of my reservation to the check out all was seamless with Vincent. Vincent who was courteous, and understanding of all my needs. My room was spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. The sheets were clean, soft and fresh. My hotel was in walking distance to soho, close to local subway station and close to handful of freest restaurants, and local bars.I would recommend this hotel, and stay again!Thank you Vincent!
Would completely boycott this hotel at all opportunities! Booked a stay here three months in advance, arrived at the hotel at 9pm on the first night of our reservation to be told by the manager that they had to cancel our booking due to not hearing from us. I confirmed I hadn’t received any calls or emails to advise they may need to cancel etc. Staff advised that other hotels in the local area were also booked out. Worked out that that hotel canceled our reservation at the last minute to get a higher rate..Even disregarding the above information, upon arrival to the area and hotel it was very underwhelming and seemed very over priced for what was on offer!Horrible horrible experience.
Very disappointed in the security at this hotel. It seemed like a free for all. Guest freely invited multiple ppl up to their rooms, (all while the country is going Through a pandemic) played loud music and none of the authority in the hotel seemed to care. No one was stopped or questioned when entering the hotel and loitering in front of this establishment clearly isn’t an issue. My husband and I chose this hotel to celebrate our anniversary(august 4th) as a 2 day staycation and felt as if we wasted our $ the pool was closed and we weren’t notified about that until we arrived.. along with the spa. The king suite terrace (the photos are misleading) that we booked showed and stated online that the room came with a soaking tub and our room DID NOT!. As we were not notified or knew this was something We had to ASK to have that specific room reserved. All in all we wish we did not book a stay here. we didn’t enjoy or stay at all and wish we could get our $ back.
Aghhh! So unbelievably content with our stay and experience at Sixty LES. We initially came to New York for our first time from Los Angeles to stay at our friends place in Lower East Side during her three week safari in Africa. We decided to venture off and find something more compatible and became infatuated with the classy, masculine energy provided by Sixty LES. Chris was Awesssomeeee and secured us the best corner unit room on the 17th floor. Upon departure, Amanda was the most helpful and kindest soul. Will never forget the excitement of Bidens victory outside our window on the day he won. Hehe, will def be back! Love you guys !!!!!!!!!!
The staff was friendly. The room was clean HOWEVER the bed was so fricking uncomfortable. We called the front desk for maybe 20 mins straight for ice and towels. Im unsure if Id come back because of the bed honestly. We stayed for 4 nights and Im leaving today with knots in my back and a sore neck. I seriously wish I was exaggerating but I even asked to downgrade rooms if that meant a more comfortable bed.
We spent our Sunday in this hotel with a toddler. It was one of the hottest day of this summer so far. As soon as we checked in, we went straight to the swimming pool. It was like a pool party, people were hanging out, drinking cold drinks and there was music playing. Everyone had a good time. There was other babies and toddlers too. And everyone was respectful. The kings size rooms are nicely laid out and we all slept well through the night . We didn’t eat at the restaurant but we had a drink there. It looked really cool. The location is great too. Just wished I could have gone out :)
SIXTY LES hotel is located in a nightlife hot spot for NYC, right in the lower east side. If youre looking for a place near bars, clubs, and restaurants if definitely consider it. The room was nicely decorated (very swanky) and the rooftop bar and second floor bars were cute. The only negative aspect was the noise complaint we got at around 9pm, which is weird for a hotel located in that area.
My friends recommended this hotel back before the quarantine started. Even though we had our masks on we could smell the weed when we walked in the front door.Should have left then. The room was very minimal which is fine, but black floors with black grout mean “is that clean” coms to mind constantly. We had a common balcony instead of a private balcony so we had all of the partners and smokers outside our door (4 feet from our head) screaming and smoking more weed. Apparently there is a club attached or part of the hotel so the hotel was packed. Covid hell. It was party central. I called the front desk several times as the “lady” in the room next door and her friends were screaming and singing all night. Security came, but it went on all night. We packed our bags at 7 am and went downstairs. I didn’t want another room or another floor I just wanted out! The saddest part was that the front desk guy knew didn’t even try to make me happy and just said he was sorry and it was like that on the weekends. We are in a pandemic and I would have never had gone to hotel if i wasn’t moving my son, but I left this place feeling very angry and worried.
Where do I start?! So, I decided to book this hotel for my birthday since, due to COVID, I couldnt have a party. BAD IDEA!....well, good idea, bad hotel choice. I booked the Empire King Suite Terrace with the Penthouse Pool Package. Chill out at the pool with some wine, soak up some sun, hang in the room and order dinner to the hotel while we play some games and gossip. Sounds fun, right?....WRONG! So prior to checking in, I contacted the hotel to see if early check-in was available (because we all know hotels may not always be able to accommodate that) and I was told it wasnt. (Okay, fine.) So I asked if we could hang out by the pool while we waited for the room since I paid for the pool package and was told we could not do that either (whomp, whomp). The earliest I could check in was 3:00pm. Upon check in, we realized that only one elevator was operating, which was also being used by the staff. 30 minutes later....we finally get to the room on the 15th floor and its now close to 4:00pm. So, we hustle to throw on our swimsuits.....just to wait and wait......and wait for the elevator again (Ugh! So, just take the stairs, right?! No sense in wasting more time). We get to the 3rd floor where the pool is located only to find out there is no entry from the stairwell (sigh). So after hiking back up to the 4th floor (which smelled like cigarettes) to wait for the elevator...again...we end up in the lobby asking for assistance. By the time we made it to the pool, it was 4:46pm only to be told by the very friendly lifeguard that the pool closes at 5! After talking to other guests, we also found out that they tried to check in early too, but were allowed to hang out at the pool until their room was ready (Not cool...we did notice the pool did not appear to be clean anyway). So we sadly head back up to our room....which literally took another hour.We finally get to check the room out since we now know going back downstairs is foolish and overall its okay. However, we notice that the minibar is completely empty (not even water?!) and the bathroom ceiling had white plaster tape attempting to conceal two leaking areas by the shower. Once the sun set, we realized the lighting in the room was inadequate. The livingroom area had zero lights and the terrace was also pitch black, which threw off our plans to eat dinner outside (coupled with the fact that the table out there was not even steady enough to eat on). However, we make the best of it, try to find a lamp somewhere we could use and just hang out. We also notice that the rooftop (with a pool) at the hotel across from our terrace was LIT. They were out there all night having a great time! (I think that was Hotel Indigo...where we should have been).Once we finally decided to go to sleep, we heard a light tapping/scratching coming from behind the bedroom wall. We thought maybe it was our neighbors, but it continued all night into the next morning (weird, sounds like theres something trapped back there!) Then, when we got up in the morning, my friend who slept on the pullout sofa noticed bites on her ankles... ( :/ Time to go!) We couldnt get out of there fast enough! It was raining so we actually never made it back to the pool, never got the wine that comes with the pool package and only got water at 1am after calling room service. So after explaining all of that to the woman at the front desk, I will say that they were friendly and adjusted the room rate. However, as if the narrative above wasnt enough, a few days after I checked out, I noticed they charged me an extra $70. When I called to find out what that was about, they told me we took 2 bottles of shower gel (which we did not...we didnt even use the shower gel at all, much less take 2 bottles....from what I know of hotels, they just refill those bottles when the next person comes...yuck). What kind of soap costs $35/ bottle anyway?Needless to say, I will never stay here again and would not recommend it.
This hotel is a scam it looks nothing like it does in the pictures at all.it looks like a completely different hotel really cheap and the room felt dirty don’t know where all the good reviews are coming from..don’t book it this hotel it’s a waste of money and time even the view from the hotel is different..
It’s a wanna-be luxury hotel. Fake luxury. Looks nice but the experience is as fake as the plants. But all of that could have been overlooked, and the only reason I’m writing this review is because, they don’t let you bring your own food and drinks to the pool area. Even if the food and drinks were purchased from the mini-bar in the room.I understand not bringing glass on to the pool area (which we didn’t) but to say you cannot bring any food or drinks, including ones purchased from the mini-bar, even snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, we were told we’re not allowed.MEANING, even if you’re paying for a room to stay here, if you want to eat or drink something at the pool, you are forced to order from their bar. Even after paying for a room, even if you bought items from the snack area or the mini-bar (which includes liquor bottles) you cannot bring those to the pool. They are forcing you to buy from their bar area.As someone who’s been to plenty of resorts, I find this so stupid! Never coming back here and stay away unless you like not being treated like a guest. The room was nice though. Windows were completely filthy so the views were not as good as could’ve been if the windows were clean, again, fake luxury.
Love the rooms! Fantastic views of the city through floor to ceiling windows, which you can open, and I love fresh air in hotel rooms. Beautiful design, clean, and very friendly staff. Very comfortable low profile beds, and their higher end three counts are delightfully cozy. Moody, romantic, and interesting.
When I checked in the hotel I wasn’t greeted with hospitality from the staff. Doreen the lady checking me in was very rude. Let’s just say I won’t go into details but it rubbed me the wrong way that I no longer had the desire to stay there. The fee for incidentals was $150 which they don’t mention until you show up to the property. Also the fee for the “studio” style room was overrated. The “luxury” view was for the projects across the street. Lastly, when my partner and I went to the pool we were surprised to see the limited space. The pool was shared amongst adults under the influence and six year olds. Not very appropriate when you want to relax and you’re greeted with minors splashing you poolside. Not to mention one of them hit me w a blow up pool ball and that is when we left the pool. The experience from start to finish wasn’t pleasant. I’ve had a better time at the Hampton inn and better service at the Martinique hotel, even the Hilton. So please don’t waste your money.
This was a bad purchase. Rates apparently varied when arriving versus when booked it so there is no way of getting a fixed price. Service was not up to standard and bartender was taking shots with guests, which is very unprofessional in my book. Will not stay here again and I would advice other customers beware.
I am writing this more to reach out to SixtyLES and see if they will respond to a complaint we had over two months ago. We had a stay back in June for 2 days and had a very underwhelming experience. These are a few of the highlights:1. First room they gave us smelled very much like stale cigarette smoke as soon as we walked in. When we reached out to the front desk they told us that the person who cleaned the room told them it didnt and we were wrong. The next day when the front desk representative came in to help us move into the second room(youll understand this later) she agreed that it did, in fact, smell like stale cigarettes.2. We were told that our room would have a tub in it and this was a very specific request that helped us determine to stay here. There was no tub in our first room. At that point we asked if we could switch to a different room. They did not have any rooms available for us that night but said we could move to a new room the next day. So we could not unpack or get comfortable in the first room.3. Later on the first night we had dinner in the room as room service was unavailable due to covid. That is completely understandable and had planned for such bringing with us some food for dinner. Within 10 minutes of putting food on the counter there were ants crawling all over it. Again when we told them about this they told us we were lying. I have attached short video of the ants in the roomsAgain these are just the highlights. There were other issues as well. What made it so much worse was reaching out to sources in the company to get some sort of resolution to the situation and being told we are liars by the hotels general manager. Then we reached out to the person who looks over all three of the Sixty properties and after two months have still not received a response. I had to call the property in Beverly Hills to get that contact information as they would not give it to me at either the Soho or LES locations. In these times they were not allowed to let us use almost all amenities in the hotel which, again, is absolutely what they should be doing, however in the email from the general manager, he made it seem as though taking that charge off the bill should solve our issues. Ill add a quote from his email. removal of the facility fee charges totaling over $300 as a goodwill gesture as our constant aim is to provide guests with an amazing experience and leaving feeling better than when they arrived. What a nice guy.I want to say that we wanted to try and fix our issues with SixtyLES without taking it to a public forum but have remained unanswered. This was our last recourse. I have the names of the General Manager and his direct supervisor but have chosen not to put there names in this. All we wanted was acknowledgement of our issues and a resolution that worked for both us and the hotel.
Reserved The Junior Suite King for an overnight stay; very spacious. Room was fully equipped with cable TV, radio with AUX & BLUETOOTH, free WiFi, toiletries (body wash, shampoo/conditioner, lotion etc...) refrigerator, safe and so forth. Room also had a separate sitting area with a pullout couch and table. (AGAIN LARGE ROOM) my only issue was a slight stench in the room and I felt it could’ve been cleaned a bit more thoroughly, it seemed rushed as it did show from how the pillow cushions were just thrown on the couch, in addition the refrigerator had an odor too.I would stay again because staff was friendly/welcoming & I want to try out the amenities once we get through this pandemic. Lastly I want to check out other rooms. 😀Thanks SIXTY LES STAFFBE SAFE...BLESS~KS~
Great location right off of Houston. Small but trendy rooms. Staff is always attentive and quick to any requests. Great room service from Blue Ribbon Sushi. (Only downside is that it’s not 24 hour room service). Free 2mb WiFi or paid high speed WiFi for 15$ (up to 5 devices).
Cute boutique hotel in the heart of lower east side. Super convenient to the subways and walking distance to soho. The hospitality was excellent and the rooms were modern and clean. My only hold back on the 1 star is that if you have a room above or close to the bar it does get quite noisy at night. Next I’ll just ask for a room on the other side.
Miserable hotel, not like the pictures at all. I heard the music from the lounge area all night, I called to complain about it I got asked if I needed earplugs. Im very disappointed. One last thing the elevators take 20 mins before they come. Do not book with this hotel
Stayed at hotel on July 29, 2018, when the hotel sponsored a pool party that started at 2pm. Not an environment for children, with loud music, drunk people, and people falling and sitting on our chaise lounges while we were trying to sunbathe quietly. Nice hotel, nice staff, but were forced to move twice on the chaise lounges to accommodate special guests, then the pool party... Not an experience I would recommend
This is not a boutique or luxury hotel. Dont pay more than 250-300$ max per night and its OK, but I have seen that they advertise their rooms for 450$+ and thats ridiculous. The interior appliances are cheaply made (the hotel is new, but you can already see wear and tear). Everything seems trimmed on efficiency. Neither the staff nor the guests are cool or hip like at the standard or dream hotels. The pool closes at 7pm and doesnt open before 10 which makes it useless for business travelers. On the upside the beds are comfortable. Judge for yourself.
Starting off our trip with arriving to our hotel we encountered rudeness from the front desk lady. Every chance this hotel can get will try to take more money from you. At check out there was an additional $50 per day in charges for early check in, as I requested an early checkin in on the first day we arrived (we stayed 4 Nights). The spa smelled like the floors were washed with urine and it was so bad we couldn’t stand to go in the sauna. Due to the first 5 minutes of being in this hotel because of the total lack of customer service and rudeness we did not want to spend 1 more cent in this place. If our first encounter was more pleasant we would have gone to the bar and restaurant...
I booked a stay there to celebrate my 50th birthday and less than two days away I get a email that they canceled my room and when asked if I can be accommodated for another room I was told they had nothing for me i had people come in from out of town and left me no room to find something else being able to celebrate a milestone is a big deal and my entire birthday event was ruined and I had no where to celebrate
Terrible. My husband and I booked this hotel for a staycation, wanting a relaxing time by the pool. I even called ahead to ensure there were no events etc as sometimes nyc pools get busy. The hotel assured me there were no events but when we arrived it was an absolute nightmare. First off, they put a $500 hold on your card for incidentals - even though we pre-paid for the hotel. We asked for a room on a high floor and were surprised when they also charged us $20/night extra for it at the end of the trip. When we went to the pool it was overrun by a mix of partygoers spilling their drinks in the pool and kids screaming and doing cannonballs. To top it off there were no chairs left so we (along with about 30 other people) were forced to just lay out towels on the floor where people stepped over us. Apparently they sell day passes to the pool in addition to having hotel guests (which they failed to mention). The next day we showed up early, determined to get a chair, only for the lifeguard to be 2 hours late (pool opens at 9 and guests were waiting in line in the hallway until 11am). The rooms are small, and do not offer coffee in them (no machine, and not even cold brew in the mini bar). Also we spilled something on the bed before leaving for the day, and although the room was clean when we came back, the same stain was on the sheets leading us to believe they just made the bed without changing the sheets. Another guest I spoke with said the hotel charged her card $6k and it took three days of calls just to get them to admit it had happened. She also said she had a balcony in her room and someone above her kept dropping lit cigarettes down, causing burns on the furniture. All in all a total disappointment and not relaxing in any way. No real sign of luxury either, just a bunch of overpriced food and drink and a rude staff. Stay away unless you’re 22 and need a place to crash after a drunken night :(
We planned a 4th of July vacation to NY. After extensive research, we picked Sixty LES for our stay for three nights before going uptown. This stay turns out to be incredibly disappointing. First of all, the front desk person was extremely impatient upon checking in. She seems unhappy with her job or day, didnt look at us when we checked in, her tone was unfriendly and didnt explain any of the facilities of the hotel. The hotel charges $150 deposit per night, which wasnt mentioned when I booked it. As to the location, we expected the pub scene close by but I would suggest not walking along in the smaller streets to be safe.Even with all of the above, I would not have written a negative review because hey! its 4th of July!!! However, its nearly 2:30AM in the AM and they still allow the rooftop and 7th floor bar parties to continue and prevented the number one reason for people to stay in a hotel, which is sleep. It is just not acceptable. I tried to call the front desk several times but the situation really did not improve. The only option is to leave this review so that hopefully others wont be in my situation in the future (writing a review at 2:30AM instead of sleeping). With the music this loud and apparently no end in sight, I really dont know when we will finally be able to get some sleep.......
Great place, good prices, nice new rooms, and a perfect location close to the subway, east village, soho, and in a nice section of the lower east side. Perfect place to stay if you dont want to stay in a place with more character than mid-town or the financial district.
Just dont go. they charge you extra 30USD per night for extra services whether you use them or not (sauna, gym..) and even the water bottles in the room. if its a compulsory fee then it should be clearly added to the official room rate, instead they charge you extra after checkout to appear cheaper on booking sites. this is rip off. on top, staff is ridiculously unfriendly. certainly not worth the price.
Bed was comfortable, quiet rooms and its in a good location but the room was tiny, everything is way over priced, the bouncer at the club was very rude. Even though they bring you the ice to your room you can only get a litttle bucket full unless you keep ordering more. The hallway smells like mary jane.
Good location but Poor service, and everything in the room is low quality and cheap. Possibly part of the reason streams of water started leaking from the ceiling ventilation at 3am. Manager provided an insulting $25 credit. Youre better off with an AirBnB in the area.

2022-06-09Great hotel in the heart of Lower East Side. Very clean and good front desk service. We stayed as a family of 4 in 2 rooms. The rooms on the pool side of the hotel are quieter. The rooms on the other side have amazing views of the Empire State and Manhattan but are located above the bar/nightclub so very loud with (awesome) music going on until 4:00am+. The hotel staff were very nice at accommodating a room change after the first night. The pool is on the 3rd floor, outdoors and is excellent for a city centre hotel, and has a bar with friendly service. Drinks are expensive here and in the club at $18 for a cocktail and $10 for a beer but then Manhattan is not a cheap place.LES Sixty is located in a superb area. Very safe, loads of cool bars, restaurants and bakeries nearby and just around the corner from the world famous Katz Deli. The hotel is right across the road from the subway station or a 10 min walk downtown to Chinatown or Little Italy. We had a great time in New York and a lovely stay in the hotel. Just be aware that this is a party hotel and you should go with the right mindset. But we loved it even though we were there with our 2 x teenage boys.

2022-04-09Really nice hotel in NYC. The room itself is amazing. We have a balcony attached to our room, and that is such a nice amenity. The view is simply amazing. Also, the hotel is in a great area. So many places around it as well the subway right across the street. The staff gives their guests privacy, but are also very accommodating if you need anything at all. Everyone is very friendly. We have been more than happy with our stay here, and we will stay at Sixty LES in the future. Highly recommend!

2022-05-23I wish the website mentioned how loud the area is. I took my wife here for our 10th anniversary and I could barely sleep. The music was blasting all night and on Friday night they even had cannon blast sounds. I shouldve booked something more subtle in midtown but the pictures on the website of people relaxing on the balcony lead me to believe I would be able to relax here. If youre in your 20s and want to party all night, this would probably be more suitable for you. The front staff was nice but that was about all I enjoyed about this place.

2022-07-02As a frequent traveler for work and pleasure, I want to thank everyone at Sixty LES for one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The rooms were stylish, comfortable, and carefully maintained; the vibe was fun and energetic; and service was wonderful without fail. Special shout-outs to the amazing staff who felt more like friends by the end of our stay: David, Danny, Jimmy, Marcos, and Ernest at the hotel; Christopher and Linda at the pool; and everyone else who looked after us. Your humour and kindness set you all apart and are the reason we’ll never stay anywhere else in NYC.

2022-06-15Stayed here for 6 nights & 5 days with little to no issues.Pros: Service was excellent: every request we had was met quickly and staff were eager to accommodate us. All the staff we came across were also very friendlyLocation was very convenient & safe everything we needed was within walking distance or a short car drive or train ride away inducing shops bars eateries the subway station across the street etcCons:The only con I had was that our shower was leaky and water would seep out from the shower area to the hallway. Unfortunately we had to keep a towel down at the base to catch the water

2022-03-21The property itself was decent and the rooms were clean. Location could be better. Please be aware of the credit card charges. Decided to extend my stay by one night and two weeks after departing my billing is all messed up with various charges on my card in excess of $2,300.00+ when it should be less than half of that.

2022-02-06I flew in on a red eye and the staff were so gracious about letting me check in at 8 am. Loved the staff, they were so friendly and accommodating. I was also upgraded to a suite. The rooms are large by NY standards. When I stayed here in 2010 it was still Thompson LES and brand new. You can see that it is not as pristine, but still pretty nice. The beds and linens are super comfy. The location is perfect, walking distance to almost anything. The gym is more than ample. Its below the lobby so it is dark and there are no windows to look out, but they have treadmills, a peloton, dumbbells, barbells, and kettlebells. Make Believe on the 7th floor was closed for a private party so I didnt get to check it out this time. Other reviews said the club is loud and you cant sleep on the weekends, but I didnt hear a thing. Stay on a higher floor if you are worried. I will definitely stay here again.

2022-04-18Three-night reservation. Night one: neighbors partied into the wee hours. It took the night manger more than an hour to get them to quiet down. Strike one.Noticed consecutive, linear bites on my arms and back of one leg in the morning, indicative of bed bugs. I was moved to another room for the remaining two nights. Strike Two.Checked out on Monday a.m. with no comp on the first night, even though the adjacent room kept me up most of the night. Was told theyd get back to me after bed bug test results came in Really?? Strike Three!Give this place a wide berth. A shame, too, because its not cheap and in a good area.
