I started going to NuVIsion thru a Lifebooker deal and decided to switch to a monthly plan for laser hair removal when my package ended. The place is very professional and clean, and they have much better laser machines than ones Ive experienced in other spas (they have the the kind with the little fans that makes it feel less hot and painful). It really is more like a doctors office than a spa, but for a lot of procedures thats preferable. Always gotten great results from my treatments.
I am quite pleased with NuVision as a laser treatment customer. Scheduling online is easy, although I recommend booking appointments a couple weeks in advance as the appointments fill up. Online booking also allows customers to accumulate points toward future services. NuVision offers frequent discounts and specials via email, which is another plus. Technicians have all been professional and efficient and I have not had to wait for more than a few minutes in the waiting area upon arrival for appointments. The office and treatment areas are clean and pleasant, with tea and water offered to those waiting.
I have been a member at SkinBar for over a year now, with both their Facial and Laser services. I received laser for small and medium areas (membership for both) and the clear skin facial package (skin membership). Over that time I have been impressed, time and time again, with the quality of the services and the customer service. Each facial and laser service I have received has never left me with disappointment. Sean is one of the best technicians I have ever dealt with. He is so caring about my skin and journey, all while being very thorough. I come out glowing, even after a peel! As for customer service, Matt has worked WITH me as a client to determine which packages are right for me and always willing to do what it takes to make his clients happy. I recently took a new job out of the city, which makes it harder for me to make appointments. Matt worked WITH me in determining how to resolve my issue. Together we came up with a plan to use my services in a timely manner, all while coming to agreement that termination of my membership was best (seeing as though I was nearing the end of having to get laser hair removal), but still needed some treatments and to use what was left of my membership.Matt has never made me feel as though he were more concerned with money over his client. He is a client first owner and that quality shines through in all aspects of his business. I would recommend SkinBar to closest my friends and my family and any seeking top quality services.
I originally came here through a groupon for laser hair removal. The front desk staff are incredibly sweet and lovely and the technicians and estheticians are also great. One of the biggest reasons I come back even though the location is not totally convenient since I dont live or work near there. They always have really good deals on packages of all kinds and their memberships are reasonably priced. I really enjoy coming here! Also, Ive never had to wait for my appointments, theyre very punctual. I highly recommend Nuvision!
Ive completed 6 treatments for laser hair removal at NuVision. Overall, Ive been pretty pleased with the level of cleanliness, friendliness, and professionalism of this place. Im also pretty pleased with my results. I might need a few more treatments for the results that I want than Id originally expected, but I dont think that has any reflection on NuVision, as everyones body is different. The only reason why Im rating this 4 stars and not 5 is because on one of the 6 occasions that I went for treatment they made me wait for 20 minutes before being seen (and yes, I arrived for my appointment on time) with no explanation for why I was waiting or apology for the delay. Otherwise, every other experience that I posted there was great.
I really loved NuVision and originally found it through Lifebooker. The space is modern and clean, the reception staff so kind and friendly, and the technicians wonderful. My only qualm is that after I used up my Lifebooker sessions they were less than agreeable in extending competitive pricing for my sessions. With so many laser hair removal options in the city, it just was not worth it to pay more.....I had been meaning to try their facials but never got around to it.
After reading a number of horror stories around laser hair removal treatment, I was thrilled when a friend referred me to NuVision. The staff is profession and friendly and the environment is very neat and clean. Now in my fifth month, I have experienced great results.
A friend and I bought packages for laser hair removal from Lifebooker and have been there twice so far, with the third session remaining. It has been great! We saw Ashley the first time and I saw her again and my friend saw Danielle the second time. Asheley is so nice and pleasant and she instantly makes you feel comfortable. My friend said that Danielle was nice and thorough, too. They also have tea available before and/or after the session, and it is not Lipton, but is Harney & Sons, so it was definitely satisfactory to someone who enjoys her tea!
I bought a Lifebooker package for laser hair removal and also signed up for the Nuvision membership package after my first session. The staff was very friendly and patient in answering all of my questions. I was surprised at how great my results were after just one session, and I did not find the treatment too painful. I have and will continue to recommend Nuvision to friends!
This place used to be great... they used to care about their customers, they used to have customer service, good deals and so many things that keep you coming back. I was a loyal customer for years and then staff turnover was so high, the good esthetician’s left. And the ones that remained tried to push product on you every chance they could get. The technology the spa uses (online booking tool) has also gone completely downhill and isn’t reliable or easy to use (it used to be) and when the desk staff recommended I email them instead, I didn’t want to remind them of the story that every time I email I need to follow up multiple times. And then eventually call anyway. Would recommend anywhere else.
NuVision is a well-run facility. The technicians are polite and helpful. I had sun spots removed and laser facials over a period of six months. The discounts made it affordable and I was very pleased with the service.
I have been coming to NuVusion for laser hair removal services. They are always very friendly and polite. The specialists are knowledgeable and gentle.I just got my first microdermabrasion here by Sarah and she is the sweetest. I would like to return for some other facial services soon!
Came to know about Nuvision thru Lifebooker. Really liked it mostly because of the technicians proficiency, clean environment and their professionalism. It is my first laser removal treatment, but both the receptionists as well as the technicians made me feel at ease and explained everything neatly. One negative as the ladies restroom is outside. Already recommended to my friends.
I have been going to NuVision since January 2013 and I have been going regularly every month. The first 6 months I went every two weeks. I love this facility. The staff members are friendly and professional. I always feel welcome here and it really is the best in Manhattan. I would encourage anyone to go and I have recommended some of my friends to go as well.Thank you NuVision for everything you have done to my skin! I feel so confident now.
Overall I had a great laser hair removal experience. I bought a package of 6 sessions. This place was always clean, staff was very nice and very little wait time. EVen once when I was running very behind due to traffic but had a train to catch that night. After sitting in a cab for about 20 minutes I called to cancelled but they were very accomodating and promised they would fit me in and get me out in time to get my train.
I have been a member at Skin Bar NYC for years. Skin Bar has been with me pre/post pregnancy and has always kept my skin glowing. I am able to try new products, new treatments, get educated on what is right/wrong for my skin all in one spot without breaking the bank each month. The Skin Bars family is so welcoming, professional, flexible and manages times/appointments amazingly. I am always looking forward to my monthly appointments. Who wouldnt?!Everyone at Skin Bar is awesome. I have been seeing Shawn and Kisha for the past year, who I highly recommend for facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, and my favorite, oxygen masks.
Skin bar is an amazing place ! I have lived in NYC for the past 13 years and would periodically try out new beauty parlors that offer facials. Every time I would leave disappointed as every facial would just involve putting some mask on my face - a task that I could have accomplished at home without a need to go to the spa. Skin bar is different! In this place I found a team of professionals who are dedicated to improve the feel and look of my skin. I love all the people who work there and every treatment from custom facial to dermabrasion, to laser genesis, to fraxel laser therapy has left my skin feeling and looking much better than what I started with. I love the photobooth as it allows me to monitor my own progress. This place is great and I have recommended it to all my family and friends !
A friend referred me to NuVision and when seeing a special advertised on FB for laser hair removal I decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did. Not only were the specials at a great price but the all of the staff are nice, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend NuVision.
I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian laser removal and have been coming for about 5 sessions. The results are fantastic. The treatments barely hurt and all the staff is very nice. I am happy to say I barely have to worry about grooming at all now. Love it!

This place does not use solutions from the official HydraFacial. My girlfriend overheard the owner speaking with his staff about it. When my girlfriend got a HydraFacial there, she said they manually applied the peel instead of using the Hydrafacial machine.
Liya has the best keratin service for both hair and lashes. I,had a keratin treatment done and it lasted 5 months.ost,other,places I frizz back up,in,2😵. I also,got the lash,lift for the second time. Her products are a superior quality.She is also,very personable

2022-04-07The Skin Bar has been the most incredible find for me. Not only is the staff friendly and supportive, they really care about what they are doing. I have found them like a family that delights in having your skin GLOW. The membership also allows me to take 30 minutes a day 3-5 times a week for myself, which I would NEVER do, so I can enjoy the unlimited LED light sessions. I feel younger, look younger and wish I had known about them years ago. I highly recommend the 4D facials as well as the CRYO SLIM packages. I lost 5 inches of my waist in 5 sessions!

2022-07-21Ive been coming to Skin Bar for years and the service is always amazing. I have a membership where I can get two services done a month - I usually go with a laser & facial. Ive never had a bad esthetician or experience. I go to Gina and highly recommend her - she is kind, calming, and most importantly knowledgeable about skin care & treatment. Everyone is very thoughtful when suggesting services and they are never pushy about selling you products.Recently, Skin Bar started providing a cryoskin service - it can be used a multitude of things - but I tried it specifically to treat the back of my legs for cellulite. After the first session I could definitely tell a difference, my skin was softer, smoother, and the appearance of cellulite started to fade. After 5 sessions I had the full results I was looking for. Ive never been more confident in shorts & bathing suit and I highly recommend trying out cryoskin treatments. All in all, this is a great establishment!

2022-06-27I spent thousands of dollars and many years on laser hair removal here with very little result. I was told that it was because my skin is darker and it was normal to take longer. Finally I gave up but decided to try another laser hair removal place that claimed to specialize in darker skin. I’ve noticed dramatic hair growth reduction in three sessions. I regret going there for as long as I did.

2021-12-04I really wanted to make the best of the situation and give it time to make sure that my disappointment was not impatience but…they ruined my skin here and I paid for it. I had three Laser Genesis treatments at the beginning of the summer season and was told that with time the improvements would show more and more but that six treatments would be even better. I went in for skin texture and loss of collagen causing my 32 year old skin to be crepey and lined and folks…my skin has gotten dramatically worse following these treatments. I wear sunscreen and moisturizer religiously, I scaled back on my retinol use, there is no reason for my skin to look this bad except for the fact that their lasers seemed to have caused damage to my skin. I could tell something was wrong after the first session and brought it up to them and they chalked it up to me just needing to be patient but I have had laser treatments at other businesses and saw positive results so… Not to mention a spot of skin on my cheek has become indented like it was scarred and it’s the same spot where I would feel a strong snapping pain unlike other areas on my face….honestly I’m really really sad about this. I paid hundreds in the hopes of looking better and now I don’t even want to go outside or be seen.EDIT since I cant figure out how to respond: Yeah, Im sure I had a membership, it was in May/June and under my legal name (this google account is a pseudonym for privacy purposes)

2013-11-09I bought two laser hair removal packages off Lifebooker. Its my first time getting laser hair removal and my first experience with NuVision. The receptionist easily pulled my vouchers and applied them to my account. They have a great system of signing all the initial paperwork online before your first appointment, so you dont have to do it there. My initial impression of the place was great because its really nicely decorated and clean. The dermatologist here did a great job making me feel comfortable, and the actual laser process was very quick. It was painful, but the machine blows cold air on the area while running, so that helps a lot. The first time hurts the most, and then its easier every time after. I saw results even after the first treatment. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

2012-08-17Im thrilled! I have been to Nu Vision a total of 3 times. The staff was wonderful and helpful. I came in interested in the laser facials. The staff was concerned about a medication that I am on and so we tested a small area to make sure that it is safe for me to use this modality. Both Dorothy and Sarah were very helpful in making sure that we could safely move forward. I finally had my first laser facial yesterday and I am so excited to say that I already see improvement in the appearance of my skin

2013-11-09Ive been to multiple places for laser hair removal. NuVisions lasers are by far the most effective in my experience. The results are seen rather quickly even in areas where the hair is a bit finer. The online scheduling system is relatively simple to use, but the appointments need to be scheduled far in advance to get your preferred technician and appointment time. Ive only had one negative experience involving a promotional purchase they didnt honor, but the money was refunded to me. Theyre also fairly affordable and have decent specials.

2013-12-08NuVision Surgical & Medspa is great. A friend of mine and I bought packages for laser hair removal from Lifebooker and we have had two sessions and have the third appointment coming up in a little over a month. The practice is clean, the staff is nice, and most importantly, the past two sessions seem to have worked; I definitely have less hair, and what I do have is much thinner and finer. I look forward to going back there for the third remaining session and see what it looks like.

2021-06-09Its a decent salon, Leesa was great & I had nice experiences there... until I tried to leave and my goodness, what a nightmare its been. I cancelled my sub in August b/c I moved 400 miles away but they kept trying to charge me. Now, they are claiming I owe them over $1k (no idea where they got that figure from) in missed payments and have threatened to destroy my credit score by going to a collections agency. Tried to reach out to Matt Pruitt, the owner, to discuss, but he refused to take my call. I had a good relationship with him in the past and this is really disappointing to would treat a loyal client this way who never missed a payment in three years. So, a WARNING, they make it very hard on you when you try to leave, make sure to change your bank details!

2013-11-08My friend bought me 3 laser treatments here at NuVision for a small area so I decided to treat my underarm! From the moment I walked in, the front desk was very friendly. I was nervous so I kept asking questions and they definitely helped calming me down. My technician was informative and professional. The procedure was not as bad as I thought at all! She treated me all 3 times and I started seeing results after the 2nd treatment! I would suggest anyone to come and get their laser hair removal here!
