Barbara is one of the best in the business. Ive lived in NY for 4 years and have moved 4, going on 5 times. I havent found someone as helpful and attentive as well as aware of great apartments on the market. I reached out to Barbara a second time after living in an apartment she helped me to sign onto. I contacted her and was emailed back right away regarding apartments in my price range. We loved one of the two, one of the 17 apartments that we saw over the past week and really liked it. Barbara helped us to answer as many questions as possible regarding the application, and was immediately in touch with us as necessary during the waiting period between application and acceptance. She is great, and the next time I move I will reach out to her first!!!
From the first moment I interacted with a representative at the front desk at Sky Management I was positively sure that I had selected the proper building management company. Relocating to a new location is inherently daunting whether it be somewhat familiar or novel. The Sky Management representatives made my transition from my former unit to my current residence as seamless and smooth as possible. I was assisted every step of the way by knowledgeable, helpful and courteous professionals who were attentive to any questions I may have had. Once I had finally moved in to my new unit I was fortunate to be assisted by Yuliia Gibbons, who was very proficient in helping me establish the MYPortal account which streamlined a myriad of integral tasks that would have otherwise been somewhat laborious to fulfill individually. Dan Cohen was also a tremendous help in periodically sending out informative reminders on the varied resources available to keep the unit at an optimal and exceptional standard of comfort. I feel fortunate enough to have been able to renew my lease and I would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone. You will not be disappointed in their absolute refreshing resolve to help facilitate your new inhabitable experience.
EDIT: Sky Management failed to make arrangements for me to receive the key to my apartment on time. I sent three emails and three texts with zero response, and had to wait for the angry superintendent to arrive day-of. Downgrading to 2 stars.Signing a lease was easy with Sky Management. They answered all my questions promptly and precisely. I will update this review if the 5-star rating doesnt hold up as a lessee, but so far so good.
It was a simple, easy, and fast process to get myself an apartment, and in less than a week! With the help of the management team I was able to secure my apartment and one that I actually like! Its refreshing and new to see such a team, whom helped me with any questions or concerns that I had, and the communication was always speedy. Looking forward to a smooth move in process too!
I rented from Sky Management for a studio on the Upper East Side, and it was probably the best management team Ive experienced in my 8 years living in NYC! They were so professional at lease signing, and with any questions that came up during my stay. I was so thankful to have such a refreshingly nice experience with an apartment management company. Thanks! Highly recommend renting with them!
Most clients are focused mostly on finding the perfect apartment, forgetting that finding a great management to work with is equally if not more important than anything. As a real estate agent I am happy to write a review and highlight my wonderful experience working with Sky Management in general and Melissa Shi in particular. She met my client and me during an open house and I found her to be professional, courteous and very approachable. I am grateful that she made the application process smooth and seamless. I am extremely excited that my client found an awesome apartment and has a wonderful management to work with. This is not my first time working with Sky Management and every single time the experience is exemplary. I look forward to working with them again soon. Not to mention Lindsay, who is practically chasing me to make sure that I get paid. Now, THAT is unheard of. Thank you for all that you do for agents and clients alike.
Sky Management made our lease signing smooth and seamless! Every person we interacted with was extremely gracious and kind, and they provided us with all the information we needed to fully understand the process. Brian was especially helpful throughout the entire process. All the information he gave us was accurate and up to date as well. If you are looking for your next NYC apartment, go to Sky Management! You wont regret it.
Ive been living in one of Sky Managements buildings for 2 years now. Located at 2 Bank Street. I had a very smooth and seamless leasing experience. It was fast, professional and they answered all my questions very straightforward. Super and property managers were very responsive and helpful. Definitely recommend this management company, and I would have extended my lease with them if I was not being relocated for work.
My roommate and I moved into a sky property on the upper east side at the beginning of September. So far, things have gone smoothly and I enjoy living there. The building is well maintained and the staff is friendly and responsive. We asked for a few things around the apartment to be taken care of and Anthony and Eddie got it done quickly.Overall, it’s been a great experience!
Barbara and the Sky Management team did a great job throughout the lease process during a particularly volatile time in the Coronavirus Pandemic - my roommate and I are grateful for Sky Managements professionalism that made our lease process seamless and smooth, highly recommend this group.
My roommate and I have been living in a Sky property for the past two years and have had such a great experience. Our supers, Eric & Flori, are incredible helpful & quick to respond to any issue we have. Our property manager, Anthony, has echoed that same quickness in response time and is incredibly detail oriented & communicative when we have a maintenance or other apartment issue. Would recommend to any new or seasoned NYCers!
Sky Management was amazing to work with for the entire application process. They worked diligently with my roommate and I to help us fill out the paperwork and answer any questions! Melissa in particular was very easy to communicate with and accommodating to work with our needs. I would definitely recommended them!
I had two medical students looking for a two bedroom with good sized bedrooms on the east side near their school. Finding an apartment affordable to students within walking distance of the school where the bedrooms are of roughly equivalent size is a difficult task. Add onto that the desire for some outdoor space and youve got a job on your hands. After leading them around to see 12 apartments, at the end of day two we found the perfect place from Sky Management. The transaction went particularly smoothly becuse of their calm and collected leasing agent Drew. He made the whole deal go very smoothly and was able to explain all the intricacies of renting understandable to my clients. They were very satisfied and have provided reviews to that effect here on yelp. Thank you Drew. It was a pleasure doing business with you and Sky.
Very positive/professional experience. Applied and signed lease same day. Very efficient management. I have to give a shout out to Ibeliza, Lindsay and Brian! All three made the application process extremely easy. They answered all questions thoroughly and effectively. Looking forward to being a long term tenant!
I am an agent at Douglas Elliman and recently worked with Sky Management for a client. Overall, this was such a great experience as my client was able to find a great apartment in the heart of Greenwich Village without all the stress and hassle. Sky Management made the entire process pain-free and they were so responsive and timely with my client that I used them again for my next client! I definitely recommend Sky Management if you need to find a new home!
I have had a very positive experience with this company and their team. They have been very responsive and efficient. They explained each step of the process in great detail and kept me updated in a pleasant and understanding manner. I would recommend this company based off of my experience so far to anyone looking to rent!!
Recently moved out of an apartment managed by Sky Management and the security deposit return was a smooth and seamless process. Yuliia from the Accounts team was extremely helpful and communicative and answered any questions I had. Would definitely recommend Sky Management.
This was my first NYC housing management experience as I just moved to the states and it could not have been smoother! Barbara was cordial and helped me understand all the rental process in NYC. I have my rental agreement in two days with all verifications complete. Thanks Sky Management!
I was shown a unit earlier this week in which the broker shared that I would receive one month free. I halted my search after submitting an application same day, and when I went to sign my lease I was informed that the one month was not free, and instead I was given a $20 discount monthly and told that I was still getting a good deal for New York. Besides the obvious bait and switch and total dishonesty, there was ample opportunity through numerous emails for the broker to have communicated that they made a mistake. In a city full of dishonest brokers and difficult apartment searches, Sky Management just makes it worse. I strongly recommend that you reconsider leasing with this organization.
I wish i didnt even have to give them a star. This company is a Joke. Ive rented from them in the past, and boy oh boy what a nightmare the staff is. Ive call on numerous occasions to complain about a pipe leak and our window jamming, and no response from the property manger assistants. I complained to Lindsay, she just completely rude, and said it was out of her control. Then I was working with Mike ,and he just totally ignored my calls . Finally, I went in there on my day off, and demanded to speak to someone who was higher up then all of these ungrateful employees. I got with Andy who actually was willing to help with my issues. This company is a joke. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!!. Ive rented from multiple companies, and never did I get treated as badly, as they treated me. Finally, I moved and now my current property management company is amazing. This company needs to be more organized. Get it together Sky Management!
I wouldnt say Sky Management is any better than other property management companies. They get back to you sometimes.I want to call out REGGIE for being the best employee there. He honestly saves the day when you have a big problem with your apartment, even if it isnt his responsibility. Once there were several workers arguing how the internet cord should enter my apartment and he just stepped in and got to work drilling a hole where it needed to be. I was so thankful for that. He also quickly fixed the loud squeeling sound our heater was making with a new part and double checked that it was actually fixed. Hes professional and competent.
Working with Barbara in the leasing office and Anthony in property management over the last year has been a huge step-up from all other experiences in NYC. Would definitely recommend. While the entryway floor has been being worked on throughout the year (COVID impact certainly didnt help), the building was always kept clean and concerns were addressed promptly.
5 STAR MANAGEMENTI have been a Real Estate Agent for 3 years and I’ve never come across an amazing management that approves my clients the same day as they apply for an apartment. The apartments they offer are reasonably priced and they take offers and will work with Real Estate agents to get there clients the best price possible.Thank you to the leasing representatives Drew Pirie and Lindsay Jahnig it’s a pleasure working with you and hope to build a good relationship for the future.
Sky Management are a management company with integrity. The team there are prompt with communication, go above and beyond to assist and are professional, genuine and efficient. A rare find in the NYC market! Special thanks to David, Drew and Lindsay for making the leasing process seamless and stress free!
Great super, nice building (although no cleaning is done between tenants).Lots of construction noise in the building since I moved in, with no ETA for completion.Way too loud to really work from home many days. Apparently theyre building an elevator, just on the other side of my units walls.I just wish they has told me about this before I signed the lease. Its a *very* loud drilling noise starting in the morning and continuing throughout the day - regularly but unpredictably.Just do yourself a favor and ask about any construction projects, even if you dont see signs of construction in/around the building.
I lived in 340 East 62nd Street for one year and it was the worst living experience I’ve ever had. Overpriced with no sunlight and loud old pipes. We had mice the entire time. Management never treated the situation with immediacy, even though we had mice constantly in our kitchen. Dead roaches in the hallways too. Do not live here.
The WORST property management company I have ever experienced and I have experienced +10 of them across 5 countries. Theyll ignore and never fix issues, and theyll try to save every penny to the degree that they wont even pay to track letters containing security deposits. Youre lucky if you get your money back within 2 months after moving out. The only positive thing about this rental was the super who was great
Sky Management was the absolute worst management company I have ever worked with in New York. Their building on Sullivan street is filthy, has rats, is over priced, and is run by a truly awful super. A few quick examples for those of you considering renting from them:The super failed to paint the apartment when I moved in, and tried to get us to pay him $200 to do what should have been done prior to us moving in. We called the management company multiple times to get this fixed, and it took an extra week to convince them to paint. They also left a broken heater in the apartment that made it unlivable for a week. They still charged me rent for the week in which my apartment was unlivable. The water in the building was not properly piped, so it came out completely scalding when I moved in. It took three weeks of phone calls to get someone to even come check it out. It wasnt until the water burned their handyman that they finally consented to replace the faucets and in doing so, they left a hole in my bathtub for over a week. Finally, when I wanted to break my lease so my husband and I (just married) could move in together after our wedding, they not only charged me $750 to break the lease, supposedly to cover advertisements costs, but they forced me to show it, do all my own advertising in addition to theirs because it was so ineffective, jacked up the rent at least 6% over market prices, and denied perfectly good tenants from getting a lease with them. The super also told us we had to pay him for re-painting the apartment when I moved out. We paid him in cash under duress, after he yelled at us, only to be charged for re-painting once again by the management company.Dont even consider renting with them unless you are willing to put up with filth and unprofessionalism. This no-fee apartment is NOT worth any savings you might think you are getting.
I have rented with Sky Management at 329 West 14th in Meatpacking for nearly 2 years and have found them to be great landlords. They are always reachable and responsive via e-mail, phone, and web portal, making the rental and repairs process pretty seamless through the seasons. Whenever I have a question or a request I typically get a response within a few hours from the onsite manager and/or property manager and can expect a resolution within 24 hours. Most importantly, the unit is very well located and fairly priced, making it the easily most compelling option after a lengthy search of 10-20 other apartments in the area. When I look at some of the lower reviews here, I see a lot of people writing about their first apartment in the city, or first apartment period. What I think these folks dont realize is the occasional building quirks like heat repairs, window inspections, and yes, from time to time pest appearances, are quite standard for NYC, particularly in older buildings and in the more established and densely populated neighborhoods like UES and West Village. If youre looking for a sterile, noiseless white box of an apartment which is also poorly located and over-priced, feel free to check out an Equity Residential or Avalon Bay building in Hells Kitchen. If you prefer the charm of an older but well-renovated building steps away from the best this city has to offer, combined with an attentive and communicative landlord, I highly recommend Sky Management.
Horrible, horrible, horrible! Did I mention horrible? This is by far not only the worst management company I have ever dealt with, but the worst business I have ever dealt with!My apartment had numerous issues which this company failed to address. Leaks, roaches, you name it. When I said it was enough, I bolted out of my apartment. And as a small token of Sky Managements appreciation, they deducted money from my security deposit for cleaning fees (which is odd since when I left my apartment was completely empty) and then failed to mention the deduction.Oh and we didnt even get into the harassment this company put me through when they put my house up for open house listings.Do yourself a favor and avoid renting from these scumbags at all costs.
Terrible property managers. Listen to me. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. The building is filthy and literally falling apart. There are actual holes over a foot in diameter in the ceiling and walls. The assistant property manager will not respond to you until he feels like it, and when he does, he will give you an attitude or hell say something like Im sorry for the inconvenience (as if saying that makes any difference at all). Renting from these people has been horrendous in every way imaginable. The only pleasant experiences have been with the super.
Quite possibly the WORST property managers/landlors in all of Manhattan. They do not care at all about their tenants. It will take you many times to email them prior to ever receiving a response. Not to mention our gas was turned off for over a year and they did not give us any compensation for it and instead blamed it on ConEd. When in fact, there are articles online about how they purposefully were slow to get it turned back on so that could try to push out rent controlled people. We also had cockroaches and bed bugs which they did not send people for. In fact, when I spoke to them on the phone they said You wont die from bed bugs Never in my life have I felt so disrespected. Whatever you do, do NOT use Sky Management.
Brian’s assistance in my move out process was vital and evidentHe worked tirelessly and made sure all my needs were met and questions were answeredIf I ever look for apartments in New York again Brian will be the first and only person I go toBrian’s hard work and commitment to his career parallels the hard work and commitment of a master at his own craftBrian not only represents sky management the way Tom Brady represents the patriots or Kobe Bryant representing the lakers, he wears it with a badge of honor and judging by his character alone, he is what i would call a top company manSky management should be proud to have someone as phenomenal as Brian, as I was proud to have worked with himThank you for all that you do, Brian, it was greatly appreciated!
Would give it zero stars if possible. The owners & management are really bad & play just on the edge of violations & harassment of many tenants & tenant’s rights. Total revolving door -tenants in their apartments move out constantly. This is the experience of many I know who live or have lived in their apts.
329 West 14th St has a history of bed bugs, and roaches. The management is extremely rude and unprofessional. If possible, stay far away. They said there were not bed bug history, but there WAS. It was a nightmare moving in. There are always issues and they dont take you seriously.

2022-06-28Everyone at Sky Management, including Barbara Pugliese, was incredibly helpful in terms of getting us set up for our first apartment in NYC. Great communication and speedy response times.

2022-04-29Sky Management was very difficult with my roommate and I when we tried to move out. Hajro was particularly rude to us. They made us move out on the 30th of the month and forced us into putting our stuff into storage for one day before our next lease began.During the term of the lease, things were mostly okay. One major downside was the lack of heating and hot water during the winter.Update: One week after submitting this review, Sky Management has threatened to take legal action against me unless I remove it. This is not a company that one wants to be involved with.

2022-07-14Absolutely abysmal company. While some of the assistant property managers try hard to work with tenants, the culture of apathy/incompetence from higher-ups is noteworthy. Their concern for profit far supersedes their care for tenant safety and quality of life.

2022-05-04Great management company. Very responsive when I lived in one of their apartments, prompt with communication and security deposit during move out, and when requesting for a recommendation when applying for a new apartment. Thank you, team.

2022-07-07Renter with Sky Mgmt since August 2021. Over the term of my lease I have experienced poor communication & service from Sky including the elevator being broken for multiple months, cockroaches and mice in the basement, buzzer broken over 5 times and now a utility gas shut off due to illegal piping in the basement for the washer/dryers that Sky completed without permits. Note that this is for a 1 Bedroom renting for over $3k per month in the UWS. Poorly run Management Company that has had many violations from the NYC DOB. Use caution when renting or having your rental property managed by Sky Management.

2022-06-07Barbara and the lovely folks at Sky were incredibly understanding and accommodating with my lease signing. Answered all my dumb questions and helped me immensely during a very stressful intercity move.

2022-04-08Cares more about your wallet than your well-being. An apathetic management company who consistently has a robotic response about what they are legally responsible for or what the market demands, rather than speaking to tenants as human beings. Ultimate motivation to post came after recent theft and safety concerns were treated with a lack of concern.
