Good For one visit but if you are in a 3 row seating without a full panaroma roof, there is perhaps no way but to get out of the car and sit to face the wind and chill or rain if you are not planning on a good weather day to experience the movie. Great location but I found one of the parking staff pretty rude. Not sure if we will ever go here again though.
This place is so much fun! Yes, $57 is pricey, but it was worth it! We came 2 hrs early because of what people recommended, and yet we weren’t bored while waiting for the movie. First off, the staff was very organized in lining up the cars and making sure each vehicle had their lights off to not bother the other people. The food was also delicious. We tried everything in the menu and they were all really good. Took plent of pics near the pier and enjoyed the amazing view as well.Great place to go during the pandemic. Will definitely be going back!
It was a really fun drive in movie theater. The prices were ok and the screen was pretty big and nice to see. There was a food truck there with basic stuff like popcorn and hot dogs and etc. The food truck was also pretty crowded so I think it would’ve been nice if there were a few more there. The view was also ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Basically worth the price of admission to see the NYC skyline in the background as it becomes dark. I would recommend someone to go here for a fun night and show.
This is our second time coming here. I will start off by saying the views here are lovely.. but as stated by other reviewers we didn’t pay $57.00 for just the view. The first time we came there were less screens going on at the same time. This time all of the screens were in use and the sounds from all the other movies were heard except for the screen we were watching. They have speakers set up but they did not seem to be working for the movie we were watching which was super disappointing. As a consequence all the cars around us had their cars on so they could have their speakers on.. which lead to a lot of fumes and the sounds of some cars were very distracting. We mentioned this to the staff but were told there was nothing they can do about the sound. There was also a lot of people smoking around us.. during a kids movie. Which was very aggravating because our kids were not only breathing in fumes of cars but of cannabis. Lastly, the screen we had for our movie was the smallest in the place and not too clear. All in all, I don’t think I’ll be coming back here unless some major upgrades happen.
The Skyline Dive In Theater is set off the East River in Brooklyn. The view of the Manhattan skyline makes for an epic back drop. The theater is enormous with a three point view of the big screens. No matter where your seated or parked you wont miss a thing . Tune into 88.9 for sound within your vehicle. There is a full concession stand with the traditional cinema eats along with few fun added on snacks such as potato puffs(Knish), churros, and blankets if you want to snuggle.Dont fret if you dont have a car they offer a comfortable seating area.We loved dressing up to see the Nightmare Before Christmas. It brought a smile to our faces and the audience.. The calm peaceful vibe from the viewer is infectious. Everyone can enjoy a nice night out watching a great movie and forgetting about the chaos we are living in. I look forward to going again.
Beautiful view! Radio station was clear and we were able to see the screen very well (although might have just been luck!) You can look over and see the other movie playing as well, if you got bored of the one you’re seeing. Takes a bit to file in and out but that’s expected.
Its a great experiencce during this period. We have been out of movie theater for half year, and finally we find this nice approach for movies. The space is beautiful with nice Manhattan skyline. They are efficenly arranging the parking spaces, and we find its convinenient for both go in and go out (My original expecation of going out is 1H, but it actually only takes 10mins, wihch is surprsing. )My suggestion is that they should have some more food options.
Love it! I dont know what many people leave a bad review. I mean if you want to enjoy the view and get a good spot for sure you have to go early. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only thing as a recommendation you should explain better how to use the radio car. All the amenities where clean and respectful to social distance, 3 big screens for different angles and the views are amazing. Keep the good job! We will be back for sure.
This is a must do during Covid if you have access to a car. The view is stunning and perfect sunset view if you go to a 9pm show. A couple of food trucks are available there. Highly recommend getting there at least an hour before to get a good spot and to enjoy the view.
The city views make this a one of a kind experience in NYC. Get there at least 1.5 - 2hrs early for a prime parking spot. Absolutely buy your tickets in advance.Feedback: I recommend management post some type of sign indicating there are two lines/separate mens and ladies rooms, I saw several guys mistakenly waiting in a long line that was really for the ladies room.
This place deserves more press!! Unbelievable experience in NYC. Felt like I was escaping the hustle. The views were simply stunning. The snack stand had all the comfort food I craved, including churros and Ben & Jerrys. The sound and picture quality were good (including closed captioning, a plus for me). Bathrooms were also super clean. The whole vibe was just lovely and anachronistic in the best of ways. Awesome date night for quarantine szn.
Super rad time - The Matrix is great on the big screen. The acoustics were solid, too. And, the division of vehicles on size was smart. Us small cars had no problem seeing. How would renting blankets sound? It got quite chilly if you opted to be outside. Overall, a fun date night. Thanks for the experience, Skyline!
A great time with great views; staff was friendly and helpful in parking. If there was one thing I would pick at, its the fact that there are so many cars parked in tightly, that you *will* get a cars tailpipe in your face, and some exhaust. Itd be perfect if they allowed in fewer cars and let people have a even a foot or two of more space.
THE BIG OVERWHELMING PRO: ATOMOSPHERE! All in all, the view makes it a wonderful/unique experience and worth the cost of admission. I appreciated that it felt industrial/make-shift... kind of like someone had just set it up for the fun of it.CONS:- The food is just ok - like average street food (hot dogs, fries, frozen lemonade) - and as overpriced as it is in most movie theaters - I was disappointed to not find the cool assortment of food trucks that was advertised. There were two guys handing out flyers to order through grubhub, which felt strange. How would they find us?- The cars were parked SUPER close together, which might be great for tickets sales, but is unfortunate if you have bad neighbors. Ours were disruptive throughout the movie: they had friends coming over and getting in and out of their car, the decided to take the very complicated convertible top down which took like 15 minutes, and they smoked a ton of weed. Our other neighbor left his car idling so he could have his air conditioning on and we could inhale his exhaust all night. I felt the ushers who guided us on where to make and made sure people turned off their lights could have enforced the other rules (like no idling more effectively)- The sound: the ambient speakers arent QUITE loud enough for my taste. We could hear 95% of the spoken words in the script when our neighbors werent drowning it out and there was closed caption. Supposedly they have a radio station, but I could not for the life of me figure out what the station was. It doesnt say on the website, its not posted anywhere that I could see, and I couldnt get the ushers attention without chasing him between parked cars.
Great drive in theater - you drive in and cut off your car lights. The audio is broadcast through the car FM stereo and there are english subtitles for the hearing impaired. They have a concession stand with some delicious kosher hotdogs and potato knish, as well as chips and salsa or guacamole, and a bunch of snacks. They also have coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, and ice creams - though we didnt have any of those options. The restrooms are full/actual restrooms which are kept immaculately clean (an attendant cleans each stall after theyre used, at least at this time of COVID awareness).
Skyline Drive In meets Briana&Kelsi ( also known as the twins) we first heard of Skyline during quarantine when we spent our day and nights on a netflix party binge watching everything until outside opened. Since then we been very appreciative of our freedom and have done almost everything in our bucket list. Skyline is located in Brooklyn. It’s only $55 per car ( up to five people if a regular car) this was general admission. They also have an VIP Admission which i only recommend if you cannot commit to arriving an hour early for a good spot.Everyone was friendly even to my idea of watching from my trunk ! They helped me so much to find a good angle to view the movie. Exiting was not chaotic as you might thing! At the entrance we were greeted with Dunkin Donut giftcards ( we FANGIRLED!) My bestfriend and I planned baskets for eachother and brought our own food. They are outside food friendly and have garbage cans surrounding the cars so you can dispose everything. Overall experience was amazing! Treats that you see were are from @treatsbynani 🧁❗️ Absolutely amazing❕ We rate this 10/10! ** YOU DO NOT NEED A CAR TO ENJOY THE SPACE**I have a travel page on Instagram @k_ventures for inspo on dates and places to go.
Good location, great views of the city. Plenty of parking space and if you get there early you can park right in front of the screen. Fun for the whole family. Nice clean restrooms. You can buy popcorn and soda on the premises. Would have loved some food trucks at that location. You can order delivery with grubhub and it takes about 30 minutes ti get your food. Overall 9/10.
This place saved us throughout the pandemic. Great atmosphere, beautiful views, super organized, and the attendants are real friendly. Ive been there a few times and they always have some extra fun going on ( trivia on the big screen , free ice cream, gift cards etc). Highly recommend.
My experience at the Skyline Drive In was pretty great. The staff was very nice and answered any questions we had, the view was absolutely beautiful and the movie was really good. My only critique is that we werent informed which radio station to switch to to hear the movie and it took us some time to find it. The screen was also kind of glitchy in the beginning so we missed a little bit of the movie. These were just minor inconveniences in the overall pretty great experience.
Its perfect considering everything thats going on right now due to CoVid. The parking is simple, you park close to each other car, they have food & extra stuff up at the stand where the building is at where they have the main movie screen displayed at. When the movie plays you can stay warm in your car with the radio tuned into 2 different stations to hear the movie playing. At the end of the movie when its time to leave, every car tends to get in line and leaves 1 by 1. It isnt that hectic all in all, you get to see the beautiful view of the city while watching a awesome movie with your family or friends for a pretty decent price!
Im so grateful that Skyline exists right now. Going to the movies is one of my favorite things, and not being able to go due to the pandemic has been a bummer, though necessary. This drive-in is the perfect, safe option to get the cozy feeling of going to the movies right now, though I cant wait to keep going year-round! With a fully stocked concession stand available, not to mention the beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline, the experience was so fun and unique in a city, where drive-ins are non-existent, even pre-coronavirus. Thank you for existing! I loved it!
Saw Back to the Future and had a blast. A tiny bit pricey per car at the moment given you cant load up the car with friends to split the cost with during this pandemic but it is hard to give anything but 5 stars when you have such an incredible backdrop. Also some great food carts on site for concessions as well! Will definitely be back :)
A great idea, but so poorly and unsafely executed. Cars are directed to park side by side with barely enough room on each side to open their doors, and there is not even one emergency lane which means every car is literally trapped where they are parked for the duration of the movie. They say on their website that you can sit on the side of your car and show people sitting in chairs. Do not be fooled- it is nothing like that. This is about greed- packing in the most amount of cars the lot can hold to maximize profits. There is no regard for the general safety of the public let alone for Covid 19. We requested that we park near the exit and ended up leaving when we saw what is was really like.
Don’t waste your money!!! Ask the bad reviews are true. Horribly unorganized, expensive, and movie started over 2hrs late.Update: customer service was great and after reaching out about my bad experience they accommodated us with another viewing and we had a much better experience. Not sure what happened the first time.
SAVE YOUR MONEY, GO ELSEWHERE!This one star is for the view which we could barely see from the cars that were stacked like a deck of cards. There was no space left between cars and no space to sit between the cars so if more than 2 people are going to watch, it is almost impossible to see the movie (See the picture for how CLOSE the cars were). The main speaker was pretty useless and I dont know when the announcement was made but most cars including mine around me did not know the radio frequency and spent 15 minutes searching for a person to ask. They tried to fit as many cars as possible (hundreds) in that small parking lot so if youre late, GOOD LUCK. I dont know what they are trying to do but their service was really poor. I dont know where they hid the plenty food trucks they mention on their ads, we were just handed a flyer at entry that had some names and we were told we could order through grub hub! VERY DISAPPOINTING!
It was a great location. Beautiful views .... and great photo ops. You can arrive before the movie and enjoy the picnic tables and take in the NYC view. The bathrooms are soooo clean!!! The movie was placed perfectly. I dont have FM radio however you can borrow a speaker but the volume is low. There are speakers placed around the lot so the movie can still be heard but its still not loud. I did not like people were still running their engines as it does not help with the sound but everyone was respectful of space and I did not worry about my belongings when I stepped away. Everyone was there to enjoy the company they came with. I will be back!
A little disorganized with setting the cars .some cars block part of the movie.their security look like youre in a cheap club.didnt see no type of law enforcement at all just random security dont feel safe if💩pops off.they need to get more organized with the way the cars are parked.
Went here last week, there was a lot of traffic getting there, which I understand because it was marathon Sunday, but because of the marathon all the roads were blocked off to get into the parking lot. When we tried to call nobody picked up, and since there was no way to get in, we ended up going home. Total waste of a good Sunday night
We went to Skyline for the first time yesterday and paid the extra $25 for the VIP ticket. Despite my concerns about being able to comfortably view the screen from a parking spot in the first row, I figured that if they were selling this as a VIP spot, it had to be fine. I was very very wrong. From the front seat of the car, I could only see the bottom quarter of the screen, and it was way too cold to sit outside (or I definitely would have). From the back seat, my husband could see half of the screen. We asked a parking attendant to see if we could adjust our spot, and he helped us to move over to the front row by another screen where we were able to see 3/4 of the screen.Instead of selling the front row as VIP spots, they should be sold at a discounted price and marketed as obstructed view spots. Other than that, it was a nice set-up with an excellent use of the space, and the view was gorgeous. The bathrooms were great, and they were kept very clean with each stall sanitized after literally each use by a very hardworking attendant.Overall, we left feeling more than a little disappointed given the price paid. I might come here again at the regular admission price but only if the weather is nice enough that we could sit outside if the view from the car didnt work.
So much fun! I scorned it at first, then I said, Why not? when a friend asked me to go. Now I wanna go there all the time, even if its cold & I sit in a camping chair outside! Their popcorns nice & hot & buttery & you can BYOB, so whats holding you back? Oh yeah, gotta wait for the sun to set....
I really loved the experience. The view is amazing, you can bring your own food and drinks (or buy at the venue), you can set up really comfortable sitting for yourself, either in your car or next to it using the chairs and blankets, the organization of whole process of parking was really smooth and I should mention the restrooms - they have the proper restrooms, new and very clean, my only suggestion to use them before the movie. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly we were able to exit the parking lot after the movie, everything was very well organized. We will definitely return to this venue. Highly recommended. Just come 1 hour before the movie to get a good spot.
They project movies warped and in the wrong aspect ratio. When I asked why it looked so bad I was told nothing could be done -- but as someone who has worked with projectors I know it is easy to fix. For the steep ticket cost, youd think they could have a projectionist on staff. There are other, cheaper drive ins in NYC and you will have a better experience at them than here.
Was wonderful to watch a movie with the back drop of the city from the comfort of our car. Bathrooms were easily accessed and clean. Everything went smoothly (though there was no need to get there 2 hours early..an hour early seemed to be adequate.) There were a few glitches with the screen about 10 minutes into the movie, but they were fixed within 5 minutes or so, and the whole experience was a big treat.
Absolutely loved the whole experience! the scenery was beautiful, the staff was extremely helpful (they even help instruct you on how to park!), and everything was all in all amazing. the best part, the bathrooms were extremely clean and they even sanitize after every use!! it can be a little pricey but for the experience, it’s amazing :) i recommend getting there an hour to two hours early! and bring blankets for a cozy set up!
Went for a date night, had a great time. We arrived around 730 for a 9 pm movie so we had plenty of time to eat and talk before it started. Everything was well-organized and the bathrooms were spotless, cleaned after every use. They even had a basket full of pads/tampons if needed which I thought was very nice. Great view of the city skyline while waiting for the movie to start. I would def go again, and do recommend arriving early for prime parking.
Love this drive-in so much! The backdrop of the skyline is gorgeous, its very well organized, the screen is nice and big, the staff is friendly and helpful, the bathrooms are clean, and they have great snacks. They even sell blankets now that its so cold! Plus, theyve had a great selection of movies so far. Highly recommend.
So much fun. The seating area is so comfortable and safe! The concession stand wasn’t insanely over priced and 2 screens is a brilliant idea!Also- indoor bathrooms with wonderful staff who made sure everything was super clean. Overall the best night I’ve had in 6 Months. Thanks for helping us feel normal again, but not unsafe. I can’t wait to come back.
This was my first drive-in movie experience and could not ask for a better place. Came here on a Tuesday clear night to see Parasite. Yes, it is expensive ($55 + $ 2 fee). As per recommendation, we arrived an hour early to get the front row position since we needed to read the subtitle for this movie. Our car was steps away from the bathrooms and they were clean. We enjoyed our dinner picked up from restaurant with a beautiful view of Manhattan skyline. We had no problem to get the sound from our car radio. We totally enjoyed the movie, the view and the experience. We did not get our complimentary popcorn as it was too cold with snow on the ground and too far away to walk to the concession stand to get it.
This was a great experience! Awesome views of the city skyline, big screens, well organized, full concession stand (Kosher!) and clean restrooms. I don’t know how long this has been up and running, but it was a great idea. Given the current pandemic social distancing rules, there aren’t many options for a night out in mid winter. Again, this was great!!
This was such a fun and COVID safe experience! The staff was super friendly. They all wore masks and were so helpful. The bathrooms are also super clean! I brought my own snacks, but lots of people were going to the concession stand for the classic movie snacks (popcorn, drinks, etc.). I would definitely recommend 12/10!!
The experience was awesome! Great view of the skyline. No litter on the ground. The screen was easily visible from the car. Good options for snacks. The only problem that can be easily resolved is the idling of cars. If youre parked for more than 1.5 hrs, the car should be off. Polluting the air while watching a movie was a huge downside for me, especially if you want to open your windows to watch, youre breathing all those fumes.. Other than that, everything was perfect. Itd be 5 stars if they can enforce the no idling rule!!
I really enjoy coming here. Its been such a nice way to enjoy movies and going out while being able to safely socially distance. The people that work here are really wonderful. Everything is well organized. You have to purchase your tickets ahead. Cars are parked by type/size, also depending on what time you arrive. There is staff to help you park your car. There is outdoor seating for those who dont have cars. I have not visited the concession stand but I typically bring my own food and snacks. I usually arrive at 7-7:30 to get a good parking spot for the 9pm showing and that also gives enough time to venture out to buy food outside of the drive in. The bathrooms are really clean and there are attendants there to make sure people are socially distancing. You can choose to watch the movie from inside your car or bring chairs to sit outside of your car. There are some picnic tables along the water and Ive seen some people bring food and eat dinner before the movie. Being on the water makes for nice photos you can take as the sun sets before the movie. Most important- you can bring your dog!
So far I’ve been 5 times. I’ve done both car and walk in. Always a good time. Easy location, if you do walk in you can always find parking on the street. Beautiful view of the city. I would just recommend to bring your own snacks or pick some up on the way, in the neighborhood. Bathrooms are always clean and tended to by someone constantly. I’ll keep going as long as they keep showing movies.
The whole experience was great. The views of Manhattan are unbeatable. HOWEVER: Highly recommend not parking in the very first row if you intend to stay in your car. Way too close to comfortably see the screen. (Talking about the screen by the water, not the one near the seating section.) But overall, a great night out.
Awesome experience. I saw the Matrix last night. Enjoyed some delicious popcorn and snacks from the concession stand. Got there a couple hours early to set up and enjoy the sunset over the city skyline. Parking attendants were very helpful getting us in and out. They also have legit bathrooms and not port a potties. Overall 10/10 !
This was my first experience at a Drive-In theatre & it was amazing! We arrived around 7:30 for a 9:00 pm show. You have to wait until 8:00 pm to be directed to your parking spot. I was impressed at how organized it was from beginning to end. The security guides you through the entire process. If you want a good spot, I suggest you arrive early. You’re allowed to park in reverse with your trunk opened. You just have to advise security in advance. The view of NYC was beautiful especially during sunset. While the movie played, everyone was completely silent. Even though you’re outside, it was very tranquil & peaceful. Overall, it was the best experience & definitely worth the price.
This place was awesome. Even though there were a lot of people and the car line was long both to enter and exit it went by very fast due to the professionalism of the staff and how organized they were. The only issue I had was that they should be a little more clear on there hand and arm signals when directing vehicles in which direction to go. Aside from that the audio, video was great. The concession stand wasnt too pricey and the little dock that they had overlooking the city skyline was very beautiful while waiting for the movie to start.
The experience was really nice. The view is truly amazing when the sun goes down and the movie is loud and clear even when not using your car radio to tune into the movie, just whine down the windows and listen. The food although high priced in my opinion, is also not overly priced as you would expect from a movie theater and they have a some good selections. The staff keeps everything very organized especially at the end when you have to leave, because without them doing what they do, it would probably be a nightmare to leave with all the cars. They are also very nice.I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to experience a drive-in movie and get a great view of the city while at it. You dont have to worry about COV-ID because you will be in your own vehicle and be distant from others. I will definitely go back here again. This was my first ever drive-in experience and Im glad it was here because it was a great experience.
My first time experience at Skyline’s Drive In was absolutely amazing! It was me and my wife’s 1st Year Anniversary and I really appreciated all the accommodations that were made for us. I had a special surprise message video for her and it was executed very well! The facilities were immaculate and the view was amazing! I highly recommend that all experience this drive in theater.
So much fun. Got there about an hour before the movie started (Jaws) and was directed all the way up front (just behind the VIP section). Picture was good, sound was good, atmosphere was good...No food trucks (I had previously read other reviews and articles mention food trucks) BUT they let us order UberEats and have it delivered to the drive-in. Traffic out was down to a science, think the whole place cleared out in less than 10 minutes. Hope it sticks around. Will definitely go again!
Had a great time! Arrived around 4:30 for the Saturday night 5:30 movie and easily able to get a good spot with a perfect view. As others have noted, everyone who works here is incredibly nice and friendly, despite it being soooo cold this weekend. Entrance and exit were smoothly managed. We did not try the concessions, as we did takeout from a nearby restaurant. Only downside was that our movie started about 20 mins late, probably due to a technical glitch. But would recommend and would do again!
We absolutely love it, we had purchased 12 am tickets but made it for the 9pm and they let us in. Parking and exiting was very easy even though the movie had started and the view of the city was breathtaking. O would suggest arriving 1 to 2 hours earlier to get front sitting, they have picnic tables and lounge chairs for those without a car. Will definitely visit again!!!
I went on their premiere night. They were organized, super friendly, no problem getting in or out. The view is stunning, you can bring your own food or get stuff from the Food Truck. (Only 1 truck though). Its loud enough to hear without having to tune into the radio station in your car. People sat in their car, outside and others on top of their cars. It was a fun night watching old favorite movies.I would definitely recommend it.
Only complaint is that the outdoor speakers should be turned off when its warm enough to have the windows open. two movies playing at once is fine when you cant hear the other one but the sounds of mean girls bleeding into west side story was not great. in general, LOVE. clean bathrooms, great movie selection, good snacks!
The best place for a date night!! Been there 3 times!! The views are dope!! The concession stand is actually cheap and the hot cocoa is 🔥🔥🔥! Definitely the only place I feel comfortable enough watching movies now!! Also a great group place you can sit outside ur car or inside!! 10/10!! Even the parking guy in the front was super sweet!!
I had a fantastic time at the Skyline. The view was great, the location was great and I got to watch pulp fiction (my fav movie). The customer service/support however lack a bit. I bought two car tickets thinking is was per person. Made multiple call to the support like to but was not able to reach anyone or get a call back.Just double check before buying tickets and you should be good.
I really love this place. The location is great with beautiful scenery for great photo ops. The staff is friendly. I live that they have a seating area for those who dont own a vehicle. The only things that I think need improvement is for the sound to be louder. Especially with helicopters flying by often. And it would be great if they offered a lower price for children. Other than that...I love it.
Skyline is a great place! The views of lower Manhattan are incredible! The security staff are extremely organized and effective. They have their own radio stations to transmit the movie, it was do clear! The bathroom was clean and sanitized. They had an attendant who would clean the bathroom after each person was done then allowed the next patron to enter. It was an all around great experience!!!
Fantastic experience taking my family here! We had an awesome time and felt very thankful to have a nice/safe outing with covid spiking right now. The staff was so kind although bearing some very cold temperatures and working outside for so long! Not to mention, the view of manhattan was picturesque. Thank you all for a great time, we will definitely be coming back for more movie nights!
Such a good time! The price can seem a little steep at first, but once divided among four people it is not bad. I was concerned about the view, but they actually have two screens so everyone can see pretty well. We were definitely not center, but our view was not impeded. I would go again! I didnt get anything from the concession stand, but my dad did hit it up... twice! So, I would assume there werent any complaints there. Plus, the view just cant be beat.
Absolutely beautiful place! especially in the times of COVID, everything was hygienic and I felt very safe! someone is in the bathroom at all times and cleans after EVERY person uses a toilet. the parking was also efficient and easy to leave! I cant wait to go back again!
The view is great and I enjoyed it a lot. But, the audio is so low, they claim to have a radio station you can connect to but you have to turn your car off because you can’t have you headlights on. So, the only way to hear it is with the windows open and since your car is off no heat. It was quite cold. Suggestion would be to suggest an app that people can tune into the radio with on their phones so at least the windows can be closed. Also, the cider tasted as if it had gone bad. Despite all of this is was a great view and a unique experience. Just could use some tweaking.
I had a great time at the skyline. The set up was really convenient and very comfortable. My only issue was the bathroom was kind of far and it was a long dirt rocky walk and it wasnt very clean. But that was minor. Overall it was a great experience. Looking forward to seeing another show.
Went on a date here and it was absolutely perfect!Keep in mind if you want a good spot you have to arrive atleast an hour and a half prior to the movie starting but while you wait for the movie to begin you can take pictures by the water, enjoy the view or hit the concession stands for some snacks!Overall an amazing experience
We went to see the Matrix and it was so great! The view of the city is incredible and the sound through the car was great! The one negative for us is that we came with some friends who were driving an SUV and we were not allowed to park together because we have a sedan- we wish we had known that in advance.
Very nice view. The choice of movies is ok. At the spot, you will have everything you need. A snack bar, clean toilets, outside seating. Took a few nice snaps of Manhattan. The showing itself was also good, clear view, you can connect to the radio and listen from there or listen through the speakers. Many couples, a very romantic place.
Such a lovely experience ! Came here twice so far , i was very happy ! You have such an amazing view of the city and the comfort of being in your car is awesome especially during this time . I highly recommend that you come at least 30-45 minutes before the showing so you can have a good spot, the staff direct you to a spot so if you come late or just on time you’ll be in a ‘ok’ spot. To get the audio you tune your radio & you can bring outside drinks and snacks. I had even seen people getting deliveries from outside vendors to their cars!$55 per car (up to 7 people) and they have a V.I.P ticket as well but honestly to me it doesn’t make much of a difference and it’s almost double the cost .This is perfect for date night or just a night out with friends !
Such a nostalgic experience! The whole organization of this was perfect! The views concessions stand and restroom were so nicely executed. Staff was friendly! The crowd was great too! No drama! Saw dirty dancing and it was so memorable. Hope you guys continue this in the colder months! Perhaps with some heat lamps? If not ill be back next spring!
Great experience! We arrived about 90 mins early for a 5:30 Saturday showing and were in the 2nd row (cars slowly rolled in after with the peak of traffic appearing to be within -45 mins of the start). The views of Manhattan and the bridge are amazing, and we had a stunning sunset. It was difficult to see the screen from the back seat from our position, but they may place the cars according to the amount of people. It was too cold to back in and sit with the hatch open but that is an option. The workers were really nice and it was easy to enter and exit!
Honestly the best drive in experience I’ve had. They’re very organized when it comes to parking and assigning spots. The view is amazing. Snacks: ( lines are long ) not the best popcorn👎🏽, snacks are sold like M&M’s, Reese’s, etc, priced higher than your normal bodega so bring your own. Ppl brought pizza and other foods. You can tune in to hear the movie in your car, but I think it wasn’t necessary since the speakers are loud. Overall the movie played well, we had a great time. Atmosphere is cool, & getting out was super easy. Very organized event. I would definitely recommend and go again !!
Loved the experience and the view. We went on July 4th and were able to see the fireworks on the Empire State Bldg and other areas around. You may park frontwards or backwards in any spot. Some people sat on their hoods. Many brought beach chairs. The bathrooms are nice and clean!! The only issue was a car several lanes from us played loud dance music with their windows wide open and security wasnt able to quiet them.
I’ve been twice already and can’t recommend it enough. Not only is it a perfect evening activity but the people that work there are all so friendly to the point that we have multiple conversations about how nice they all are. We sat outside the car my first time on beach chairs and in the back of an SUV the second time and both were nice. I tell everyone I know to go. Pack a dinner or some snacks, get there early to get a spot and watch the sunset, and just relax.
It was extremely well organized upon entry. After the movie the exit strategy of all cars and pedestrians was the same, very well organized. The movie was amazing, they had external speakers so I didn’t even have to leave the car on. Amazing time with good concession food
We had a good time and definitely enjoyed ourselves. My only complaint was that the day we attended the employees as well as a lot of the customers were not wearing masks. I was looking forward to this event as someone who was not leaving the house much during this time and this did put a damper on the experience for me. The view was great and so was the movie set up.
Great experience. Worth the price (try to bring along 4-5 ppl). Concession stand with a variety of food and drinks (no alcohol). Cars are kept at a safe distance. You can tune into the sound via your radio or the surround sound alone is pretty good just roll down your windows a crack.
Great experience. Would definitely go again. Attendants, car spacing, cleanliness and sound was great. Only critique would be that there were no food trucks as advertised. We wanted something other than popcorn and a hotdog. But, we were able to walk a block to get pizza pie.
Great idea for date night during these trying times. We saw nightmare on Elm street at midnight. Pretty dope. Other patrons were respectful of social distancing and all car views were good. Only reason why I am giving 4 stars is for 2 reasons. 1) There should be an app to order snacks from the food truck. The line was ridiculously long. Thank goodness me and my boyfriend already had our own. But a bucket of popcorn would have been great. 2) 56.99$ is a little steep for a drive-in. (It’s per car)I know the light bill had to be paid but it’s an empty lot. 🤷🏻♀️ I may sound cheap but at these times a lot of business are taking advantage and price gouging. All in all I would go back again. The experience was some what worth it.
Whoever thought of this - whether before or during the pandemic - is a genius. Surrounded by views of Manhattan skyline, you understand how this drive-in movie theater was named. For ~$57 (incl. tax), you and your friends/partner/family can book a ticket for a movie screening - thats for 1 car though. My girlfriend and I came here to see Taxi Driver on a Tuesday night and there were at least another 20 cars in the lot as well. We loaded up on food, snacks, and drinks beforehand, but there is a refreshments area under the screen. You can either (i) roll the windows or (ii) connect to their FM station to listen to the movie. Its an adorable date idea and very worth it. The lot is HUGE so I wonder if they will invest in a bigger screen as revenue hikes. If your car is low youll want to be careful leaving the lot and you land on a cobblestone street. I will definitely return!
Beautiful scenery. Get there about 7:30pm so you can watch the sun set and take pictures. Its amazing. I see people complaining about food options. Are you kidding me? Bring something to eat in your car. We had a great night. The atmosphere is so nice you dont even care that their showing movies youve see before. And for the people complaining about the price, you must not have ever been to regular movie theater in NYC lol. At around $60 per car, its a steal!
Loved this experience and the views are spectacular. The only thing lacking was volume. The sound was way too low. It’s a great activity to do during this time. Get there early to get a good spot. Everyone working was super helpful. Bring snacks or buy them. You can even order food to be delivered to the gate entrance!
Get there early! They recommend 2 hours earlier for Thurs-Sun and 1 hour earlier for other days. They have restrooms and concession stands. They also allow you to pull in in reverse (trunk facing screens). Its a great experience at a hefty price, but it is NYC so if a lower price is what youre looking for go out of city. I wouldnt recommend a VIP spot since if you get there early, youll snag a spot just as good as the VIPs.
It was a great experience for the whole family. The kids loved it, and my wife and I enjoyed it as well. Besides for bringing back memories, the screen is great, the sound was clear, and the view is breathtaking. Right on the water with the City in the background, this is a must go. Especially in the present time when so much of the entertainment field is closed off, this is a worthy replacement. Get out there and see for yourself. You wont be disappointed.
Love this place, I go to the movies a lot like every week and since they are close this is the closest way to watch a movie on a big screen it is a little pricey but worth the money already gone twice, giving it 3 stars because last time I went this lady was getting on my nerves telling me to turn off my car last time I went i had my car on the whole time and she was telling everyone to follow the rules the whole time we were there she was bugging 🙄 😒 😑 but at the end of the night Karma is a B! Her car broke down 😂 it was hilarious before I left I was like have a good night and dont forget to follow the rules! Priceless!
I had such a great experience at the Skyline Drive in NYC. I previously purchased tickets online for a show back in June - and unfortunately I had car issues the evening of the show and could not make it. I reached out to their customer service and received an immediate response. They shifted my tickets over to a future screening of my choosing, which was much appreciated. I rescheduled it for a midnight showing of Scream on July 31st and it was one of the best experiences I have had since the COVID pandemic. Entering the drive-in was simple and easy, our view of the screen was fantastic, concession stands were lovely, the view was beautiful. The film started on time and everyone was respectful. Exiting was quick and painless. 10/10 experience and would definitely go back for the right film again!
We caught a midnight screening in January so the lot was not even close to full, which was nice. Getting in and out was relatively easy. I am giving four stars instead of five because 1) the popcorn was way oversalted to the point of being inedible, and 2) the sound was unbalanced and did not come out of my left car speakers (my speakers work fine normally). It would be great if there was an app you could use to tune into the radio station so that you dont have to risk draining your car battery. Overall we had a blast and will be back!
Getting there early was super helpful and also allowed us to enjoy the sunset over the Manhattan skyline. It was the quintessential NYC Summer Night! We had a great time! The parking attendants were amazing, they made getting in and getting out seamless and easy. The only critic I have would be to up the snack game. Perhaps invite some local food trucks to cash in and get some business during these hard times.
I was so so so impressed with this experience ! It was extremely well managed. We were concerned at how long it would potentially take to leave the parking lot but when the movie ended we were out in mere minutes. The view is beautiful and the radio station sound super clear. It was a very enjoyable experience and I definitely recommend!
The experience was so unique and really fun! Special shoutout to the attendant in the bathroom who was cleaning and disinfecting after every use. I was there on Saturday night and she was so polite and sweet despite her difficult job. The bathroom was extremely clean which is so important during a pandemic.
Staff was friendly, restrooms were very clean, concession stand service was great.Instructions were not very clear, we wanted to back in and watch from the trunk and we were informed once we arrived that all reverse spots were taken, however we were the first ones there....We were rushed out pretty aggressively at the end of the movie and again instructions were not very clear on that either. A few cars almost crashed 🤦🏻♀️
This was a lot of fun. The amazing view of the NYC skyline was an added bonus. We brought our own chairs and a separate battery powered radio so we didn’t kill the battery of our car. I helped us not have the motor idling. Was worried about car battery dying but also since some people sit outside of their cars wanted to be considerate and not have hot air blowing on them.I didn’t arrive early enough to check out all the food carts but definitely will try to get there a full 30 mins to explore some more. :)
Had a TON of fun here last night!!! We saw Halloween (1978) on Halloween night (2020)!! It was great!!! Not a bad parking spot in the lot and they have big screens (and good sound) for all angles!! Will be back in the summer!!Minus 1 star because the snack stand line was seriously like 50 people long, and I couldnt get popcorn before the movie started! boo.
Loved it! We all had a great time at Skyline Drive In, it was a really cool experience. Getting in and out was so easy and the food truck & bathrooms (not port-a-potties) made it even better. The *only* reason Im not giving 5 stars is because of the car next to us that was running the entire time. It made it incredibly difficult to hear. I thought cars were supposed to be off since most people were sitting outside on chairs or blankets, but this car was on almost the entire movie. It was very inconsiderate. I was hoping one of the employees walking around would have asked them to turn it off but they just kept walking past them. Oh well! It was still an awesome night!
Some people are saying the ticket prices are too high, which isn’t the case if you load your car up with friends and split the cost.. “concessions were too expensive” it’s a movie theater, concessions are gonna be expensive. The view was beautiful, the movie sounded great, and the ground crew were extremely helpful and polite. My friend had a minor medical emergency and the staff were extremely willing to help. They knew exactly what to do and helped him recover. Thank you Skyline Drive-In for a great night, we’ll be back soon!
For a pop up drive in it was great. Staff did a great job organizing. Only complaint was that the line for the one food truck was so long. Thought they would have more options. Otherwise, could see the screen fine and their speaker system was good enough we didnt need to use our cars sound system.
The overall experience was great, it was next to the water, the view of Manhattan was beautiful. There was even a floating platform out in the water for you to enjoy your time leading up to the movie. There were speakers throughout the area to play a great selection of music while you wait. Plenty of seating areas, well maintained restrooms. Some concerns and criticism. The concession was overpriced, and the movie quality (bad contrast ratios, audio lag, video stutters) could use a tidying up.This was my first time going to a Drive-In movie theater, and I would not mind going to this place again.
Went on a rainy night for my 2 Year Anniversary with my gf. Honestly, this place is great. Ive seen reviews that the radio signal has been staticky but ours was super clear. We saw Black Panther, which has some dark moments, but the rest of the movie was clear and bright. Only thing Id say is the parking attendants could be a little more descriptive with where to go at times; We didnt know until after pulling in that theres a special section for SUVs, so we had to go to another lane after already being told to pull in. Leaving was a little confusing at first as well, but thats such a minor inconvenience compared to the rest of the night. Well definitely be back!
We had a great time seeing Chicago on Friday night. When I heard there were food trucks I assumed there would be a variety - not the case. Luckily we were early so I went into the neighborhood to get some vegetarian food. A few staff had their masks down and not all guests wore masks walking around (most did, but a few went right by our car without). A fun night though. I would go again (with my own food!)
Great night. Concessions stand nearby. People were nice and organized. Great views. Kids got fresh air. Lots of movie choices and more screens are coming. Would love new releases but during Covid that might now be realistic. Real bathrooms with an attendant cleaning between people. Easy and fun.
We drove from CT for girls night & had a wonderful time!!! The views are spectacular, the lot is clean & well kept, the food truck was good, sound quality very good, screen was clear, easy to view & the bathrooms were very clean!! Enjoyed it so much Im returning in a week for date night & were already planning our next girls night!!
The place has a gorgeous view, very nice staff, the parking is neat and when you leave it doesn’t take long at all since it’s all organized. Recommended to arrive around an hour and a half to an hour before if you want a good spot. The food trucks are cute. Overall an amazing experience thag I’d recommend to anyone. Great for dates or friend hangouts
Clean bathrooms with frequent sanitizing, staff helped me get a good spot where I could see, could hear on the Outdoor speakers too, and when the person in front of us kept putting their lights on, staff automatically appeared to remind them to turn em off. Great time overall. Couldn’t ask for more.
Skyline Drive-In is the perfect destination if you want to watch great movies, eat tasty food and enjoy a beautiful view. I absolutely recommend for dates, family time, or a night out with friends. Most importantly, the staff members are accommodating, friendly, organized, professional and courteous. I had an issue with my ticket because I selected the wrong date and so I reached out to Skyline to try and fix my issue. Within less than two minutes, I received immediate help by a representative named Michelle. She was pleasant, upbeat, understanding and extremely helpful. Michelle assured me that she could easily fix my error. Early the next morning, she sent me a confirmation email updating my ticket with the correct date and time that I intended. During our communication, Michelle responded in a timely manner and remained as helpful and courteous as possible. This says a lot about how they respect and value their customers. Thank you Michelle and the Skyline team for offering a memorable movie experience and providing great services to your customers.
Great date idea, covid friendly outing.Brought blankets for my friends to lie down in the back of my car. Brought snacks, cute to bring beer and pizza and bring a date. Skyline was amazing. The audio of the movie was played through the radio of each persons car. The staff was friendly, there was a bathroom, and place to buy snacks. We close my trunk door and watched through window (cuz it was freezing) and it was great!
Really cool experience! So grateful to have this group in the midst of COVID. I had never done a drive-in movie experience before and while I miss theaters, this will definitely be a preference moving forward. Watching a movie, being able to bring your own food, play trivia before the movie, make commentary without disturbing others, and watching the sunset is pretty dope. Perfect date night.Only thing to note is that 1 ticket is $57. Its for one car up to seven people, but if there are only two its more expensive per head. So this is perfect to bring your crew if that pricing bothers you.
The staff was very organized. We arrived at about 7.30 and were directed where to park. I would assume if you arrive later they may have run out of backwards facing spots because there were less of those. You dont need the speakers to hear movie, its also on a radio station. The bathrooms were super clean. They were cleaning stall after each person. I thought we would be stuck for a while getting out but it was well run and the staff knew what they were doing. Only thing I didnt enjoy was the people with no masks hanging all over each other. Especially when one of them stuck her unmasked face through our window to ask what radio station to tune to.
Appreciated the experience to watch a movie during the pandemic. The only thing I would say could be improved (or you should be mindful of) is the viewing angle. If you are in the front of the lot it will be pretty difficult to see the full screen. Also I would recommend going on a warmer night; we went in winter and with the car off/no heat it was pretty cold. Had some blankets which helped us make it through.
The reason I give it 3 stars is because the whole theater is beautiful. Love the vibes and everything. But some people like me have a modified cars where the radio station don’t work. I wish there was a way you guys can create an app or something where people who is having a problem with the radio can connect with the app and listen to the movie. I mean we paid 55$ to not even hear and enjoy the movie. But everything was beautiful.
Been here 2 times and I love it. The view it amazing and everything is very simple, from going in, to tuneing in the sound, to where the bathroom is at. The only thing i say is go early to get a good spot. As the screen is low sometimes, depending on how you are packed and the size of the car in front of you, might be a little hard to see. but you can bring a chair and be anywhere tbh
In these times of social distance and mask wearing this was a welcome change. After reading several reviews Id decided to surprise my kids with a movie night. I made dinner, bought snacks and juice and off we went to the movies. I was a little apprehensive because one of the reviews stated that they parked everyone in so close so I got there minutes before the movie would start in hopes that I would be towards the back. My pleasant surprise there is enough space between cars that I didnt feel at all apprehensive or intimidated to come out my car. People set up their car like a real tailgate situation which was very nice to see. There were others on top of the roof of their car. There were different food options which GrubHub brought to your food to your car, however I had packed my dinner. The whole experience was great and I definitely will come back again.
Extremely impressed with my experience here! Though the ticket was expensive, the view of Manhattan from here is amazing and I was quite surprised how easy it was to park before the movie and leave afterwards. I wish there were a few more food options available but nothing to big to complain about. Great way to get out of the house during a pandemic!
At $60 a car, it’s no where near worth it. It’s not a real drive-in so your car is parked flat in a parking lot, not slightly elevated in the front. If you’re tall, your view may be obstructed. People don’t understand the rules... the constant talking, opening/closing doors, cars running, headlights going on, etc makes a really annoying experience. There’s no food: no food trucks as promised. And unless you know how to play your car radio without running your car and/or draining your battery.... The view of the city is amazing but you can see the view for free. Don’t waste $60 trying to watch an old movie in a parking lot.
100000/10 date idea! me and my bf arrived at 5:51pm and were let in, we were the third car to arrive we had the BEST view! It did say the doors open at 6 but they let us get in anyways. Theres a concession stand with few candy, pretzels, churros(really good), hot choc, etc. Theres also a bathroom its a walk nothing to complain about though just use it b4 your movie. Get there early so you can take in the amazing view!
Great place to watch the sunset, Manhattan skyline, and a movie. Followed all Covid rules and bathrooms were spotless. The bathroom attendant was super sweet, and guys parking cars were very friendly. They had parking down to a science. We where there to see “Die Hard”. Only problem was a few cars had lights on throughout movie because newer cars running lights don’t shut off when you have key turned to listen to radio to hear movie. There are speakers in back of parking lot for movie sound, but cars up front I guess can’t hear them. We were parked towards back because bigger trucks are sent to back to not block view. So I would suggest bringing a radio to broadcast sound for movie if you cannot shut off your lights, or tape to cover lights. The other movie goers will shout for you to turn them off. Other than that, a great night for friends and family. GREAT FIRST DATE SPOT!!!
It was our first time. We ordered VIP tickets but VIP IS NOT WORTH IT. You will be placed in the front row which is like sitting in the front row in an actual movie theater, tooooo close. The bathroom was kinda far but very well kept with a friendly attendant. The men that tell you where to park your car are very friendly too. Theres a concession stand, but your best bet is to bring your own snacks/food/beverages. We saw Alien. The movie screen went in & out a little, but we still enjoyed ourselves & the Manhattan skyline and will be back, just not in VIP :-)
This drive-in experience was much more frustrating than enjoyable. We arrived more than an hour early only to get probably the WORST parking spot in the place. We have a small SUV, and were placed in a spot we could barely see either screen and every car that came in drove in front of us. There were plenty of better spots they could have put us in based on our arrival time. Then a large SUV came in after the movie started and they parked it in front of us, so we had to get inside our vehicle, with limited views. They allowed people to keep their lights on, idle and sit on top of the roof around us. VERY DISAPPOINTED for my $56!
We were very impressed with the warmth of the staff and seemingly effortless processes that made entering, parking and exiting a breeze. A cool experience that turned out to be a lot more relaxing that we originally expected. The location was convenient, as well. We would definitely go again!
Even though we enjoyed our experience once the movie started, we thought the event was extremely disorganized. We made sure we got there pretty early to get a good spot, but a lot of cars that got there later got in front of us on the line because of their disorganization. The worst part was having to put up with the car behind us blasting music while waiting on line. Nobody from the event did anything about it. There was also only one food truck there. Would not go again.
Amazing location, but a bit pricey for how they pack you in. We could hardly see around all the other cars we were next to. Compared to a spot upstate like Warwick Drive in, this experience felt far too cramped. Like riding in a subway car....Also heard the bathroom line was crazy and dangerously hot in the greenhouse type room
Beautiful location for sure! Just know what youre getting into: This aint your traditional drive-in. The screen is much smaller and the parking lot, too. You wanna be early so youre right up front, but you will be closer to other cars (so mind Peeping Toms if youre canoodling 👀).Major reasons for 3 stars is that the projector is not bright enough. Given the brightness of the city, it was difficult to make out a lot of what was happening in the horror movie we went to see. And, all said, value didnt match the price for me.
Overall our experience was good, but with a couple of issues that I think could be resolved pretty easily.Firstly, I think all of the staff we interacted with were great. Really friendly and helpful, wearing masks, they knew what they were doing, etc. They should really be proud of how their staff conducted themselves. They were faced with a big challenge, with cars backed up through multiple holding lots and streets waiting to get into the drive-in. I think our screening was their first midnight screening, on a back-to-back screening day. Information on the website told us to arrive 2 hours before the film started, but we arrived at 10:30PM only to find that the movie before us was still running (and kept running to 11PM), then they had to clear the drive-in before letting us in. We waited on a line, in the car, for well over 45mins before being let in. This was a bit of an annoyance. I dont think they should be running the screenings so close, back to back, I think the drive-in should open to cars 2 hours before each screen so they can spread out the intake of vehicles and avoid backlogs/traffic jams. The staff handled this all pretty well, but it should have been avoided, and a little more direction of traffic right at the entrance to the drive-in would help. The view from the drive-in is impressive. The screen is enormous, video quality was pretty good considering the level of light (even at a midnight screening, the light pollution from NYC and the lighting used around the lot was abundant). The sound, however, lacked a bit of consistency. Possibly because we were at a late screening, and they couldnt run the ambient speakers very loud, but it was hard to hear anything without using your car speakers. Usually, not a problem, but they had someone manually changing the volume of the audio feed when the action got loud (again, probably to avoid noise complaints from neighboring residents). Still, it was also changing the volume of the audio feed to the cars FM radio receivers. If you werent sitting right by your cars volume control, it was nearly impossible to get the volume in the right place for the whole film. A rookie mistake from their sound mixer...you need to create a separate feed to the FM broadcast that you dont touch.Skylines website and Instagram have been long touting food trucks and even BYO but recently changed to prohibit external food and beverages being bought in. Stupidly we abided by their request to not bring food and drink with us because we thought there would be food trucks. Unfortunately, there was only one concession stand, selling your usual movie snacks and drinks, which was a bit lackluster, but I didnt feel it was overpriced—next time, we may or may not ignore their terms and sneak our own food in.It also seemed like they need to enforce some of their rules a little more. Many people were sitting in their cars with their lights and engines on, blasting their ACs, etc. While I respect peoples decisions to sit inside, especially in the pandemic, I think the drive-in should enforce one or the other. Everyone sits in their cars with the windows up, or everyone should be required to shut their engine off. We tried to tailgate but couldnt because of exhaust fumes and the sound of engines drowning out the movie. I did, however, see some staff telling people to turn their headlights off.Leaving was a little quicker than arriving, but the staff again were faced with the mass exodus of unorganized cars pouncing for the exit. In particular, the SUV section was very chaotic, but it looked like the sedan and small car sections were a little more orderly. Again, I think the staff did a decent job, but it could be orchestrated a bit better. More advice and guidelines coming up on the screen before and after the movie would help.We will absolutely go again, though, with tempered expectations on access to food and drink, and well become one of the engine-on, annoy the tailgaters crew. If you cant beat em, join em, right?
My husband and I came to see Grease, my all time favorite movie, at the Skyline Drive In and it was a wonderful experience. We went for a 9pm showing and arrived just before 8pm so that we could settle in and eat our dinner picnic while we watched the sunset behind the NYC skyline. We got a great spot, dead center with no obstructed views. Cars/sedans get to pull in straight and SUVs because of their size seemed to have to pull in at a diagonal on the sides. They serve a small concession menu and I think there was dinnery type stuff too, no beer served at concessions. We had a great time and could hear and see perfectly! Would highly reccomend
No false advertising here! When they say Skyline they mean Skyline😲😲!! What a beautiful and clear view of the NYC Skyline. The screen and sound system (outside speakers and through your car) was in perfect synch. Also the security and parking team, was so professional and efficient I sought out the manager and thanked him for proving a safe and comfortable environment for my family and me. (Thanks again Orlando and The Outfit Group)...Ooooo and the bathrooms was cleaner and newer than my a traditional movie theater. Overall just and excellent night and experience, I and my family will be back!!
Overall fun experience! Something fun and safe to do during these times. But they need a better selection of food trucks and should advertise which will be there day of. I was also disappointed that the movie froze 3x. There is still some work to be done, but thanks for the Friday night entertainment.
Great place right next to the east river to watch a movie in your car especially during these crazy pandemic times! Popcorn served on site along with your hot beverages. Bathroom on premise is also very clean and sanitized! Definitely recommend this place and would most certainly visit again.
Its nice to get to see movies with the NYC theaters closed. Ive attended Drive ins in Queens, here, and Bayville, LI.Pros: Great view! They have a concession stand! Great movies! And its very close to local shops and restaurants so you can spread some love locally. And its a great way to have a date night.Cons: A little on the pricey side $55 for one movie per car (At the Queens Drive in, we saw two sets of double features for $45) and actually finding the entrance and getting in is a bit disorganized.Still I would happily go again and I hope they stay open through winter.
The view was great, the visual and audio was great. It was nice to have a skyline of the city. The experience was not 5 stars because the movie was barely over and staff was very pushy and rude about getting us out. I understand they want to be timely, but there is a way to communicate this and that was not it.
Most of the people where nice. There was one person who got mad at me which is understandable since I mindlessly ran over a traffic cone because I didnt see it. But apart from that the food was good and there where many parking spots. they even had a great 70s 80s rock playlist.
This experience remind me of my childhood days..We hope that the Skyline sticks around after the pandemic is over because we need Drive ins. The staff was on point and the showing of the movie was excellent. Hopefully, in the future the coming attractions are current flicks in the industry. keep up the fine job guys!
This Drive in theater was awesome! I would highly suggest getting there early and enjoy the amazing view of NYC! I would also suggest bringing chairs to sit outside your car. Will definitely be going back! Food and drinks sold on site but able to bring own which was great and I highly suggest.
Expected the experience of an old fashion drive in theater; was disappointed to take part in what felt like hipster gathering of whohasbetter car here.Even though it was a written rule that all engines should be OFF ( people were sitting outside the cars on blankets and chairs between the vehicles), some of the cars were on, blowing gas and adding soundtrack to the movie. The guards did nothing about it even though some people complained. Also, if you are there first...you will be stuck there, even in case of emergency, surrounded by other cars.It was my date with my hubby and our sense if humour ( and beautiful sunset) helped us to still enjoy the evening .
We had an AMAZING time!!! Customer service was the best I’ve been around in a long time. It was freezing outside but all the employees were very polite and ready to help in any way possible. I was more impressed with the employees than the movie itself lol Thank you for making our family movie night a huge success.
Even during regular times, when going to the theater and being around others would be safe, Skyline Drive In NYC would still be one of my favorite movie experiences.Entrance and exit were efficient, the projection was large and clear, the venue was holistically accommodating, and the backdrop of Manhattan spanning the full horizon was sensational. My favorite Halloween and a new regular spot from now on.
I got to Skyline at 8pm I figured that was a great timeConsidering my movie started at 830pm. We were on such a disorganized line which had 6 Columns and 1 guy running back and forth just randomly letting people in. It actually took us 50 before we were able to get in. When we got there we noticed the movie screen was so small barely even able to see it as far as they had us parked. Also there was no sign letting us know what station we had to put it on so we can hear the movie so we spent 20 minutes asking people what’s the station. When we finally found it it was so much static you weren’t able to make out the words of the movie. We told the guy that worked there and he said just call for a refund. Apparently this happens often which is sad because the skyline was beautiful. It’s totally not worth 55.00. If it was working I can it being a great experience.
Had a really nice time over there. Beautiful place to go on a date! Cant beat the views and the experience was overall fantastic. Its very retro which I appreciate. I never really thought I would be going to a drive-in movie theater in 2020. I enjoyed myself and would definitely be back to see an oldie but a goodie film!! Highly recommend!
The woman working on 7/21 who was directing cars within the lot was extremely hostile. We understand it’s hot outside, but to stand in front of cars attempting to enter and exit, cursing and demanding they “obey” your orders is grossly inappropriate. We captured three videos within a span of less than 2.5 hours of her negligence and hostility. The drive in itself is lovely, the staff clearly need some major training. We will not be back.

2022-06-27The good:1. Great view of the city! But this is a drive in movie and I didn’t go there for the view.2. The sound sync’ed into the car pretty good.3. Bring your own food and drinks. The bad:1. There are three screens at the location and they are very close to each other, with the sound from each movie going over each other. We were mainly hearing the other movie while sitting outside and not ours. Also the screen next to our screen was really distracting.2. The cars are parked very close to each other. The car next to ours kept smoking and coming into our car.3. Got there early and got a front row spot. If sitting outside of the car, you can not hear the movie from the outside speakers. Also it was very windy, and wind kept blowing sand all over my face and eyes.4. Quality of the screens were really bad. They are not that big. Smaller than an average billboard.Overall it was a very bad and disappointing experience.Because we got there early, we got to park up front, but because of the spaces are so tight, not sure if the people in the back got a good view of the movie, as we were up front and it was mediocre at best. The experience would definitely be better, only if you are ready to keep your car running for duration of movie with windows closed and listening only to the broadcasted sound of the movie though the radio.

2022-03-14Great drive in movie spot with view of nyc. I would come at least 30 mins early for good car view. Popcorn and snacks can be bought at concessions. They can have up to three movies on at once at this huge venue so don’t let the car line up before the show stress ya.

2022-05-10Memerable place to see a movie. You can drive, bike or walk in. The views across the river at sunset are nearly worth admission on their own. Feels a little like a secret wonderland hidden behind a double high stack of shipping containers. Also the location of Greenpoint Terminal Market in season. Take your kids for an evening they will talk about for weeks or just unwind with your partner.

2022-01-19What a BIG MISTAKE I made coming here on Christmas Eve. I brought my nieces to show them the drive in experience and drove 3 hours IN TRAFFIC from Connecticut to watch Home Alone 2 at 5:15pm at Skyline. Thinking since it’s Christmas Eve AND we’re watching a Christmas movie filmed in NY, I thought we would be accommodated with good view of the city line. NOPE, we were blocked in by a bunch of cargo containers (see my pics) and a smaller screen than my tv at home.We paid our $57 too, where was our view?Instead, we were boxed in with a trailer blocking the entire view of the skyline. Our screen was so small and the sound was so poor while others weren’t. We had no idea what channel to tune into. We could’ve did this at home for free instead of driving 3’hours on Christmas Eve. This day felt like a total mistake and when I emailed them, I got no response. I’m very disappointed Skyline!!

2022-01-23We went for a 5:30pm show in January. You definitely want to be there at least 1 hour in advance. We had some one in the back seat and unfortunately they didnt have the best view. Not sure if it was our vehicle, the location in which we parked or something else, so if anyone knows, please let us know. Outdoor food is allowed but they also have a concession stand where you can purchase food and snacks.

2021-12-29I previously left a negative review after waiting a while in line for a movie... Came back to see the same movie on Xmas eve, we got a great spot! Our car died during the movie but they had jumper cables at the drive in & quickly jumped to the rescue. Saved our whole night. Thanks so much Skyline! What a perfect way to see a movie when you dont want to go to a theatre. Loved the privacy & novelty. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone!

2022-06-06Great location. Beautiful NYC skyline. Maverick was a very good movie. Sound system there was good. 70 degree night left windows open to hear the sound and enjoy the breeze. 2+ hours zoomed on by. Would Definitely recommend this drive in. Very reasonable pricing for a family of 5. Not sure you need the vip just get there early.

2022-03-07The movie setup was fine and so was the backdrop. But they may as well advertise they have no concession stand. Reviews mentioned food trucks but I went on a Saturday night and the food trucks were not in use. Seriously one little stand with one cashier for a place this big? I gave up after 30+ minutes on line. I took a look at the menu and it was kinda disappointing and basic. Ive been to other drive ins in the area and there are on site restaurants or food trucks with interesting options. This place has a huge space and they can really develop the dining aspect better.

2022-04-03I absolutely love this place. It is my favorite place to go when I want a date night idea and I don’t know where to go the view is incredibly beautiful the screen is big so no matter where you are in the lot you are able to have a clear view. The only thing I would ever say is to make sure you bring your own drinks they really don’t have a lot of drink options there but the snacks like their popcorn and hotdogs are super delicious. They also have restrooms conveniently located in the lot it’s a little bit of a walk on the lot but the view is so incredible you really won’t mind it I can’t wait to go back to go at least once a month

2022-01-15Loved the experience. We walked in. There was a seating area and an area for the cars. The parking attendants are excellent. They get the cars lined up properly and at the end, it was a smooth procession out. We sat in comfortable beach chairs. My daughter bought a bottle of wine, which is allowed. Very family oriented. One family even brought their dog. We saw the Princess Bride. The drive-in is right by the water, so we saw all of the city lights. The moon was out. There is a concession stand where you can get snacks. And there was a business holding a raffle for movie paraphernalia. We both won shirts! The theatre is open all year round. I want to go back with my hubby but we will be driving. There is a building a little ways to the right with clean bathrooms. Very nice experience! Will definitely go back.
