Me and my mom have been shopping here forever and just recently, they upped the price on their sweetheart special which is still a great deal but my aunt wasnt happy about it and said no thanks. There was a rude man on there who verbally attacked my aunt and my mom calling them fat for no reason and the owner goes and deletes my comments because i stuck up for my family and called this guy out. His comments shood have been deleted as well and since they werent, it goes to show you that this man was a family member of the owner! Allowing your family to bully your customers is uncalled for and is not professional ! We literally stopped shopping here because of this! I loved this place and always spent tons of money here too! Im glad to now give it one star! Im sure my review will be deleted because the owner doesnt like the truth
Called and talked to the supervisor to ask about donating to a charity event for veterans, I asked about the $40 for 40 pounds of chicken promo and was told “Ha! In about about 5 years when prices go back to normal. The case is $80”I said “I understand that prices go up l, but was there anything you can do for the price since we are a not for profit tax exempt charity “ I was told “food is tax exempt” and repeated the cost was $80.I am not in the least bit upset that they didn’t donate or work with us for pricing. I am appalled at the lack of professionalism that came from this establishment.
I can not start to say how disappointed I was in my last purchase of your Super Sized chicken wings. Up until this last purchase I was always more then happy with the size. BUT $4.99 a pound for wings I can get at any supermarket for $2.99 a pound. These fall VERY short of your Super Size advertising size. I have always refused to buy from anywhere else, but now..I think I have to start looking for another company for not only my chicken wings, but all my meats.I have been trying to send this very message to their contact Us site.. 25 minutes and it still wont go through. BEware of what you get and buy
My mom was raised on the Sloan Market better known as Camillos Market. And now as a grown up myself I go here too. My mom has passed away recently but she was good friends with the families kids. Its always nice to go here and whats even better is that I only live 2 blocks from here now. The people are always so great here and the customers are equally as warm. They make their own sausages and a lot of other items. They not only have the meats its a general store as well as a fully deli. It has all the wonderful smells of Italy. I used to live in Italy so it reminds me of home. Even if youve never been to italy, trust me all the delicious goodness of Camillos will make you feel like you entered into a small village store. Delisioso
Lived here 24 years in the area never went to this little market. What a gem! No one around me had a quality full packer brisket. I looked on their website at their sale flyer and they had one at $4 a pound and it was prime as well. Good price for a nice quality brisket the store was very clean neat and organized I was very impressed service all the way around. It was outstanding! Mask worn properly as well. I will be back, no worries! they are my new favorite place to go for meats and things as such!!
Stopped in quick near 5:30pm and was so happy to see that they still had all there product out and full in the meat cases. Great selection of sausages, steaks and pork. Everything looked so fresh. Customer service was excellent from the meat counter to help in the aisle to the register. Very well pleased...
I have been going to this place for months to get my meat packaged never had a problem until this last time when I was charged for hamburger that was included in my order but was not in my box and because they say it is there they will not reimburse me or even give me the missing meat I will not be going back to them again.
I drove everywhere to find meat and when i asked all other places besides this place told me when they had no clue when meat was coming in. Sloan meat market told me when the next shipment would be. Made me feel easier about the scary times we are in. I cant imagine how busy this company is right now and they still we really nice people.
Decently priced, great meats, friendly employees!! I get a meat package monthly and it is always packages neat and clean with the best cuts!!! Great variety of specialty stuff like fresh seafood, there cheese curds and pasta salads!!!! Family owned and ran for as long as I can remember and Im 27.
Stopped in on a Thursday at lunchtime, the place was jamming! Had to wait about 10-15 mins to be waited on in the deli. Why? Because this place is great!!! Prepared foods, deli meat, seafood, steaks, all types of chicken and multiple flavors of homemade sausage fill the counter. Always fresh always high quality. Stop in!!!
This place makes me cry tears of joy for the amount of quality sausage and sausage products that our around that store. Very well prices sausages all hand made and rolled in the back by kings/queens of the industry. Awesome Selection of dem meats doe. Very hometown market feel which is apart of the ambiance and draw of this little market in the corner of town. Staff is amazing and the sausage is da next level doe. I also recommend that super underrated cheese selection they got as well, its like double extra yum yum. Not a lot of craft beer but hey we all have flaws.
I just call it My Meat Guy. I go 3 or 4 times a year and stock up on steaks and usually some spices. The whole rib eye is our go to beef. Never had one that is less than great. A whole rib eye will cut into about 20 steaks which they do for you right at the counter. Prices are also great. Their sausages are store made and they have a number of specialty mixes at decent pricing.
Born & raised in Buffalo, now living in Atlanta, besides visiting with family, I have to come home at least once a year just to get my Buffalo food fix. I could have gone to several places to get my meats & cheeses but picked Sloan Market on Wednesday. I am sorry that I did! I usually dont take the time to write reviews but my experience seemed to be more than just the usual 1 star type. The several young girls behind the counter were not busy, in fact there were two available to supply my order. However, they were indifferent and unable to answer any of my questions about taste, quality, cooking, storing, shelf-life... AND, they were NOT AT ALL friendly or outgoing, rather they seemed a bit put out, almost annoyed, that they had to think. I never saw a butcher. For all the things about my hometown that I love and take pride in, its the locals, my native people that I count on to represent 716! I did not feel at home in this market by any means! It was disheartening and disappointing and not one employee had a different attitude than the other. No energy or spark during this traditional & festive time in Buffalo, so bright & cheerful before Christmas. So, with a smile as I loaded up both baskets on my cart, I graciously asked if they might have a thick box that I could have to pack my 60+ pounds of fresh meats for my flight back to GA. The most senior gal said, uh, yeah, we have boxes but we use them... And, that was that. Walking over to the register to pay for my precious goods, I let a few people go ahead of my overfilled cart. I found a familiar loaf Al Kohens seeded rye bread that would go wonderful with my new and yet unfamiliar taste of Camillos smoked polish sausage. Cant resist some baked Christmas cookies from a local bakery in Alden...all set! With no words, no expression, no eye contact, the young cashier rang up and bagged my $211.00 order. Just another day. I paid and said, thank you and wished her a pleasant evening. Then at the door, that I held open for a family with 3 small children, I left thinking that I was happy! Happy to have had the time and money to get some of my favorite foods that I grew up with and still love to eat today. And, I felt sad and disappointed that Sloan Market was not a happy place, nor did they have it in their hearts to be helpful & outgoing. I dont think I will risk having that experience again when there are many other markets in Buffalo that carry the same products. Incidentally, I went to my moms afterward to unpack my meats and to make the sausage. My new bottle of Millers Horseradish, lid apparently not on tight, had leaked all over my cheeses so I had to toss that bottle, and the Camillo brand sausage (I bought 5 lbs.) was not as tasty as Wardys, neither bursting with flavor nor juices.
Sloan Market is a bit of the old time grocery stores. The meat department is packed with anything you need. A good selection of seafood when you need it. The homemade sausage selections are great. If you need cheese, this is you place too. Dont expect fancy wegmans look or feel. But you get great food, friendly service and good prices. It can get busy on the weekends so time you visit right. Be polite in the parking lot, it gets a bit crazy or use the street parking.
Just a brief history, the Sloan market has been around the Lovejoy - Sloan community for years. They were located in East Lovejoy for years and it was known as Camillos until they moved to the location that their at currently. Its now Camillos Sloan Super MarketThey are k own for their excellent cuts of various meats and cold cuts, always fresh. and again excellent qualityThey also stock other products; various breads, sauces, frozen vegetables, fish, pastas, various graves and grocery items. This place is always busy.Staff is very friendly and acomadating. A family owned business.Highly recommand.
I love that place I love going back to the old neighborhood even though Im just around the corner in Cheektowaga always polite always courteous. you cant beat a box of beer battered haddock fish 20 count for $40 . It was $32 but thanks to our presidents tariffs went up a little bit like everything else
This store is never slow in any manner shape or form. When you walk in - head for the back and grab a number! Their in-house sausage, perogies and condiments are uniquely delicious. There is a wide variety of all your food needs for picnics & parties. They have open cases of frozen food-french fries, onion rings, pizza dough, chicken etc at wholesale prices! Even at the busiest times, short wait times at the front register, knowledgeable help to find that last item, and a parking space are always commonplace. Come on in to Controlled Chaos you will love it!
Sloans market was a unique experience.I was amazed to find such a variety of items. Tonight I made sausage purchased there and found it to be very tasty. Other meats look to be of good guality also. I will again in the future take anotjer trip there bringing a friend along to see their reaction.
They also discriminate, no social distancing in the store, employees wearing masks below their noses and above all else violate the mask order issued by the state, see below:Individuals are required to wear a face covering in the abovementioned situations and settings, provided that they are older than two (2) years of age and able to medically tolerate a covering. If a face covering would inhibit or otherwise impair an individual’s health or if an individual is notolder than two (2) years of age, an individual is not required to wear or use such a covering.Further, essential business operators and enforcement authorities are prohibited fromrequesting or requiring medical or other documentation from an individual who declines to weara face covering due to a medical or other health condition that prevents such usage.
Ive been getting my holiday rib roast at Camillos for years, and they have always been excellent; fresh cut & trimmed. I like to prepare a rib roast with the bones in,, and the butchers cut the bones away and then tie up the roast for cooking, but its easier to cut and serve that way. And the experience in Camillos is always great...Great, fast service, even when theyre really busy during holiday season. Lots of fresh made sausage, rolled steak, etc.
I went in and wanted to buy a case of ribs. Babybacks are on sale and Im a pro at cooking them. This time I asked if they had st. Louis stye because I was told they had more meat. I had to tell him st Louis 3 times and then he asked me what st Louis was. When I got there they called number 18. Oh I better pick a number my number was 19. All them people behind the counter and then some dude explained to him what they were even though they were on sale there a couple of weeks ago. I had say never mind and walk out.i have to be this dumb dudes victim
Love this market. The staff is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable....you can find just about anything here and if you cant Im sure one of the staff will for ya...if you havent been here its a definite must visit...you wont be disappointed! Im lucky to only live a street away lol

2022-06-06Not only does this place have the best prices around when it comes to meat products but hands down the quality is the best. I wanted to smoke a brisket for Memorial Day but my usual places either had subpar meat or their prices were astronomical. The Prime Brisket that I picked up from Sloan market was the best brisket I have ever tasted. Of course I have to pat myself on the back for being the superb smoking artist of meat ever LOL. This brisket was so juicy, even the flat was pouring juice when I sliced it.I dont think theres anywhere else that Im going to shop for meat, dont forget about their produce and other items, the store has it all. If youre having a party I would definitely come check here first.

2022-06-11First time shopping and was pleasantly surprised. The place is small, especially with all the patrons there on a Saturday, but it was adequately staffed and the lines moved very quickly. The prices are also seemingly better than supermarket prices. The selection was also very surprising. Will definitely be making this stop a regular thing, especially since I do Keto!!!

2022-06-14Its a nice store...and the employee some are friendly But..Not to throw shade on the store Like i said it is a really nice store but the customer they aint too friendly and I dont think they appreciate African-American in that store because I keep experiencing uncomfortable feelings and especially today and this not my first time pulling its door just like my third fourth time and every time I go in there its just a experience with different customers but its not going to stop me from shopping there

2020-12-30Great local meat market. Tons of fresh and frozen varieties of meat, cheese, condiments and other assorted foods. I love that they have prime and choice options on the beef to upgrade for special occasions. They also have a flier for weekly specials. If you have the freezer space or friends willing to share a large quantity you can really get great products at a great deal. For example 15 lb box of bacon for $30 and 40 lb box of chicken breast for $40. You can also get a better deal if you want to buy an entire loin of meat, they will slice it to your specifications. The good deals go quickly and it’s a smaller space so try and go early to get the deals.Staff is helpful and friendly. Everyone is wearing masks and following covid protocols.
