Took my tablet there July 2020, to get my tablet fixed. Kinda costly, but got it done none the less. Now I go back last week. Simple of simple tasks. To get a phone cord. I dont have any apple products, never did. So why would I ask for one. Get home, notice I get an apple cord. No biggie, Ill just take it back. I would think. Didnt get his name, but the clerk there, said its no way that he gave u the wrong cord, u asked for apple, blamed me for everything short of the reason why the Titanic sunk. In a very nasty loud tone. Well that 20 dollars you charged me, will be the very last dollar u get from me. Get anger management. Know your products. Watch your mouth on how u talk to customers. Im nice. MANY ARE NOT!
Great place for getting your phone fixed, or buying cases and screen protectors for phones. I must tell you though, their accessories seem to be limited to only phones. I thought they would have screen protectors for the Nintendo switch, but they did not.
Coffee spilled on laptop. I immediately shut it and brought it in for repair. They opened it and dried all components. Fortunately, there was no lasting damage and everything worked fine. What a relief.Im 2 months late with this review. But I was impressed with the service as well as the integrity of this business. They were straightforward about the price and whatever choices I had. I recommend this business.
Came in with charging port issue, expected I would need to have it replaced for about $80, but the guy looked at it, spent a couple minutes cleaning the port, and handed it back all good. Friendly, straightforward business. Would come back.
Hello there guys! Highly recommend this location if you wanna fix any of devices . I had a problem with my Mac Pro 13 inch . I set appointment online. Guys checked it and said that it gonna be fixed in two days. I’ve came back in two days and it was working the same way as it was working the day I purchase it in the apple store . I had so much important information. My wedding pics that i couldn’t loose .Thank you very much !Appreciate your service!
Max helped me out and fixed the back of my phone. When I got home I noticed dust in the camera and the pictures were shot. Called him and he told me to bring it right back in. Next day Kenny was there. He hooked me up with a new camera lens. Phone looks brand new. Nice guys!
After an epic poem of an experience trying to get my phone fixed days before a business trip abroad, including a replacement refurbished phone not arriving, refusal by Apple to replace my screen on the grounds of old water damage and trying to force me to buy a new phone, and two separate used phones failing because the iOS was rendered obsolete and incompatible with iCloud... Smart Phone NYC came to the rescue and gave me what I wanted, which was a new screen - and they did it in less than 30 minutes! Highly recommended for fast, excellent quality service.

My phone screen has been cracked ever since i dropped a chair on it (ugh don’t ask). As a busy mom during quarantine, I haven’t had time until today to get the screen replaced. Imagine my delight when the gentleman at smartphone not only fixed the screen as good as new, but entertained my fascinated 6 year old with shop talk about how to take apart old phones. They even sent him out the door with two busted phones for him to completely destroy— I mean, to practice his new skills on.In this day and age, with in person interaction very rare indeed, the guys at Smartphone made the little bit of human contact I got today a delight.
I went in with what I believed to be a broken charge port. Turned out to be a much smaller issue and the guy fixed it in a few minutes, didnt even charge me! Most other places would have tried to pull something, so Im glad I could trust them.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHONE HERE!!! I dropped my Iphone x and my screen cracked during all this Covid mess. The guy fixed my screen. Great, right? WRONG! My phone started rebooting every 3 minutes. Fortunately, I got my money back, but now I have to replace my phone. I am a nurse coming here temporarily. I dont know my way around, and this makes me more frustrated than EVER!!!
I came with my friend who bought a case and screen protector. Max (the sales associate) was friendly, helpful and efficient. So much so that I came back to get my own screen protector when it was time and received the same great service. Come here when in the neighborhood, it’s great!
Beck did a wonderful job fixing my iPhone XS screen. He was also knowledgeable about other problems Ive been having with the phones face ID. I would recommend them to anyone who needs their phone fixed in a flash: no appointments, no pushes to upgrade, no waiting at the apple store.
DO NOT COME HERE. They are extremely unprofessional, abusive and a bad business. I would give it 0 stars if I could.I initially came here to fix my iPhone 6 home button as it wasn’t working. My phone was disabled, and in order to unlock I needed to have access to the home button as well as a computer. I waiting 30 minutes for him to complete the service. Then went home and spent hours trying to unlock it and it still did not work.I waited for an apple appointment and they informed me that there were screws and parts missing out of my phone and that was why the button wasn’t working!I immediately went back to the store, and confronted the man that had completed the service. He was extremely unprofessional as he raised his voice at me. After the whole debacle, he changes the home button and it all of a sudden magically works.Three days later the button stops working. I yet again go back and requested a refund and he wasn’t flexible at all. He offered to replace the home button with a nonworking button and give me a partial refund.I informed him that I was not pleased with his service, as I paid $90 for something that does not work. He instantly lashed out at me and said that I wasn’t being fair that I was a bad person and something bad was going to happen to me.I CAN’T NOT EXPRESS ENOUGH, DO NOT COME HERE! You will waste your money.
My Apple 7+ plus screen cracked and I neglected getting it fix until the phone became unusable!!! Took my phone here to Smart Phone NYC and Max was able to fix my phone in about 30 minutes. Price is fair and service was good if I ever need to get my phone fixed again I know where I would come!!!
I took my iPhone 6 here to have a battery replaced. They replaced the battery and it was easy. HOWEVER, less than two weeks later my phone stopped working completely, so Im not sure what else happened to the phone in the replacement process, but I dont think this was coincidence. The manager of the store was not helpful at all in managing the situation. I would caution anyone thinking of using them instead of apple as I ended up having to replace the phone completely instead of just the battery. An expensive lesson.
TL/DR: seedy tactics and they will not honor the warranty on their LCD repair if it breaks.Id like to start off with a side note: Ive used an Otter Box since 2015, for all but the 1st month of having this phone. In that first month I had a little crack on the backside on my phone from dropping it, hence the Otter Box.I brought my Samsung Galaxy S6 here after I cracked my LCD and screen by accidentally dropping it on 3/4 crushed stone. Despite the Otter Box, the rock was able to directly impact my screen area.I called ahead, gave my phone details, and he quoted my for $240 for the fix. I agreed to bring my phone there after learning that it would be finished within 2 hours. I dropped off my phone and gave him my e-mail for the pick-up later on.He e-mailed me within the 2 hours saying, your device repair process completed and available for pick up -- see photo. However, when I came to pick up my phone, the phone wasnt assembled and not ready for pick up. The reason it wasnt assembled? He wanted to know if I wanted the BACK of my phone repaired as well (crack on the back I mentioned earlier). I asked, is it free? and of course his response was no -- I forget the amount (something like 20/30 dollars). I declined simply because I was irked by the tactic. Why wouldnt he ask me that ahead of time or be more straightforward about the phone being ready for pick up? Ill leave that for you the reader to decipher.23 days later my LCD cracked again, this time I did not drop it. I called and asked if they would fix my phone under warranty and the answer was no, not if the LCD is cracked. I told the guy that the home screen button was sticking and that must be what contributed to the screen crack -- faulty/imperfect reassembly is a plausible/likely reason this LCD cracked again. The aftermarket LCD could also be the issue.I still asked for a price on the re-repair and he asked me how much I paid initially for the repair. Huh? Re-repair was $200.
These guys are quick and fantastic. If you are doing an insurance repair make sure its understood between insurance company and Smart Phone NYC what you owe and when to save yourself some time. Will be back to see them for future repair needs.
The screen of my Samsung Tablet stopped working. I asked for repair and they told me that it would need screen replacement for $180. Well, I could have bought a new one for that money. I am glad I did not do it because it turned out that a cable was loose. This was a simple fix, which I did by my own in 10 minutes!
THIS PLACE IS A SCHEME.FRAUDDo not bring your phone here. I came in with a crack in my iPhone 10 screen and after they replaced it my phone screen started turning on and off by itself and turning black. I paid to repair it again and had the same issue. They are using bad parts. They are doing something to the phone, like putting in bad parts to keep you coming back in to fix it. Before they fixed my phone I had no issues just a hairline crack, now my phone hardly works and I use it for work.They are using bad parts so you keep coming back to fix it and they make money from you.I will be calling 311 and reporting them to the better business bureau.Any good reviews they have must be from family and friends because I do not believe this place is goodI want all my money back so I can take it a reputable place to get my phone fixedI can’t afford for these people to fix my phone anymore.

Friday night I was out with my niece and dropped her Iphone and cracked the screen. She was worried about what her mom wouls say. I took her into this store and they had the phone screen fixed in 20 minutes - great service.

My iPhone wasnt charging they removed dust out of my lightning port free of charge and fixed the phone. Could have easily scammed me but were very honest. Highly reccomend this place.
Although we were unable to resolve my specific issue, they were very fast and honest about next steps. After drop off, they give a time estimate for a diagnoses and have always been on point! I recommend bringing your phone by if it is broken.

2021-08-10This place may offer the best price around, but you get what you pay for. About a month after getting my iPhone X screen replaced by these guys, my screen developed a huge distorted area covering about a quarter of the screen. There was no sign of cracked glass in that area, and the touch portion seemed to work - I just couldn’t see anything in the affected area. I went back to the store to tell them about the problem, and they said it wasn’t a manufacturer defect - it was just a feature of the LED screen. The guy said it could break even without damage to the glass or touch screen above it - that it could be in my pocket and get bumped the wrong way and break. He claimed that all screens with this sort of LED could break just like that, but I’ve never had this problem with any other iPhone screen (original or replacement). I also told him that my FaceID started behaving oddly after the replacement, but he didn’t care - just claimed it wouldn’t be affected by the replacement glass. When I asked if he could at least give me a break on a replacement, he gave me this long speech about barely making any money on each screen. As I was walking out the door he yelled that he could knock $10 off the price…. but I know better now. Do NOT go here and expect a quality product, good customer service, and a screen that won’t break mysteriously after just a month

2021-05-17When my iPhone 8 started turning off abruptly and randomly require a full restart, I thought I was looking at a long repair time and drop off with the genius store. Since the earliest genius store appointment I could book was for tomorrow, I stopped in here today hoping for a miracle. I left 10 mins later with my phone working great! Free of charge too!

2021-08-13Great experience this morning at Smart Phone NYCs Park Slope location. I brought my iPhone in after unsuccessfully attempting to replace its screen and battery with parts and directions sourced from the internet. Beck was so helpful—diagnosed a minor problem with a connection within seconds and fixed the phone within minutes. I wish Id brought my phone to Smart Phone NYC in the first place. It wouldve saved me a whole lot of time, effort and stress. But now I know, and theyll be my first port of call for phone repairs in the future!

2021-06-11Had my phone for nearly two years without any trouble. The screen replacement I received must have been faulty because the next time my phone hit a surface the screen burst open again. I was told when leaving that they have a month warranty and when I call to claim the warranty the shop owner refuses every claim of ever promising that.Just pay the extra money and get an official repair. Dont trust this shop.

He did a wonderful job putting my screen protector and I will be coming back in to get my iPhone 6 fix for my son. I highly recommend to come here you won’t have to worry about any disappointments . 2020-10-07Stopped in here today, fully expecting to pay $90 to have a charging port replaced. He took one look at it, spent a few minutes cleaning my pocket lint out the port, handed it back to me - no charge. Very friendly, clean well lit shop, great experience. First place Ill go when I really need repairs.

2021-01-07Beck was delightful. We chatted all the while he repaired my iPhone. It took him all of 15 minutes. They were open on New Years day, which was a true blessing for me as many places in the area were closed. Highly recommend.
